The food was a waste of time, it was always cold.
Location:- You have to be like a mountain goat to climb all the steps from one level to another and that’s even when the little mountain train is working.
What entertainment, we were told there was a Turkish belly dance show one night at 9-45 we were still waiting at midnight, like most nights it was a waste of time, if it wasn’t for the fact that we were out of breath getting down there and needed to catch our breath for an hour or two we would have botherd.
The people in the hotel jewellery shop(mermaid)said that when the hotel closes for winter it was going to have another overall with a lift that will cover all the levels, if this is so and they warm the food up and get some real entertainers it will be a fab place.

Food tasted ok but you got fed up with the same dishes each night.
The location made up for all its little faults it was breathtaking, with views from every angle.
Staff were excellent very friendly and polite any minor faults in the room were dealt with fast and efficiently.
Entertainment wasn’t up to much staff were not experienced enough and really didn’t have a clue but tried their best.
You could see by the end of our stay they were upgrading the hotel and putting finishing touches to what could be a first class hotel which I would certainly visit again.
Overall it was a really relaxing place to stay

| said: We just got back from a 1 week stay at Club Belleverde Mon 4th Oct.There were 8 adults in our party with an age range of 17-60. We checked in at 6am & it was fairly straight forward exept when I was shown to my room it smelt awful, turned out they'd had a flood & the walls, ceilling & carpet were soaking wet. When we asked to be moved, they dealt with it straight away.
The View from our balcony was lovely, it was just a shame the balcony wasnt big enough for even 1 chair and it was a struggle to open the balcony doors as the carpet was coming up & jamming under the door. The rooms were cleaned daily, & the cleaner left some nice designs on the bed made from the towels & sheets.
Enamel was peeling off the bath & the water from the taps & shower was really salty, not very nice to wash in. The swimming pools were lovely & clean, just difficult to get to with the hundreds of steps, my mum really struggled and the tram was often broken down in the many power cuts. We were really disappointed with the night entertainment, we were looking forward to the disco which is meant to be on from 11.30pm til 2.30am, only to find out it had closed down 2 days before we arrived as it was near end of season. We missed our free drinks most nights to go to Gumbet as we found ourselves bored at the hotel with its practically non-existant nightlife. The food wasnt to great, breakfast was ok, I stuck to bread & boiled eggs everyday, you cant go wrong with that, lunch is the only time you can get chips & the pool bar done burgers & pasta which were nice enough, dinner was the worst with not much variation each day. I wouldnt even bother with the A'la Carte, we couldve got the same from the restaurant only without the cold chips! The service at the A'la Carte was brilliant though. We came to the conclusion that it is silly to go all-inclusive in Turkey when it is so cheap to eat out & the food in the many restaurants is really nice.
All of the staff at Belleverde were really friendly & helpful. I wouldnt blame them for the choice of menu or lack of entertainment.

| said: I recently came home from the club bellaverde hotel on Saturday 3rd October. I had heard so many good reports on this hotel and as it happens I found most of them INCORRECT!!
When I arrived at the hotel my first impression was WOW this looks lovely, but when I explored and had a good look around my mind had then changed rapidly. There are over 400 steps from the hotel 2 the swimming pools and the hotels bars. Along the steps there was no lighting in which there was many accidents where people had fell down them and was taken 2 hospitals.
Every night when we got to the restaurant we were hoping for something different but every night it was the same stuff which was disgusting there was about 1 or 2 nights where I liked some of it. The water in the hotel in which you use to shower, wash and brush your teeth is all salt water so after a day at the beach where u were salty a nice shower would be great but you would still come out as salty as u went in!!
The so called entertainments team were absolutely useless I could of done a better job myself, they had a daily programme of activities but you would hardly see them do one let alone the whole programme the evening entertainment was jus as bad, the shows were so boring I could of easily fell asleep, there was one night where there evening entertainment was bingo, not 1 game of bingo then the show but the whole night was bingo (rubbish)
Ok now 2 my good points on the hotel.... The waiters and staff were great, so friendly and always happy, as soon as they see we had finished a drink another round was bought over 2 our table without even asking, and the other good point was the views from the hotel.
The hotel is so high up that u can see one side of the hotel is the view of Bodrum and the other side is Gumbet. The views are out of this world u can see everything!

| said: We have just returned from 2 weeks staying at the Club Bellaverde. We had a fantastic time and I can highly recommend staying there.
After reading reviews I was fairly worried, what had we let ourselves in for! But we needn't have worrid, it was brilliant. We arrived at 5.30 in the morning. Check in was fine and a bell boy took our cases down the many steps. We had a tip ready after reading previous reviews.
Room spotlessly clean, fantastic view. No complaints and was cleaned every day.
I think the hotel is in the best location of the resort. The views are incredible looking over Bodrum, Gumbet and then looking over to Kos. If you venture out of the hotel you will normally see coach loads of tourists looking at the view. We felt so lucky that we had this all the time. OK so it is not in the resort, the hotel runs a courtsey bus. There is a Taxi rank outside, or walk down the road and hop on to a Dolmush for a million.
I would make a few points about the hotel:
1) Do not go to this hotel if you have walking difficulties. There are a lot of steps. We were worn out after going up and down them. But don't let this put you off as they are fine but would just be a nightmare if you had trouble walking.
2)Yes the hotel is a bit rough round the edges. A bit of slapdash work here and there. But I would like to point out that this is Turkey and the whole country is a bit rough round the edges. The hotel is lovely and spotlessly clean.
3) The food was lovely. A bit repatative but we could see that this was improving by the end of our two weeks. You get a visit to the A la Carte resturant during your stay. This was defiently worth doing. It was about five courses lovely.
4)All Inclusive Bar Selection. At first we were a bit disappointed with the limited alcoholic drinks. But as soon as we had been into Bodrum and realised that the local drinks were only Gin, Vodka, Brandy, Raki, Wine, Beer. We felt we weren't being ripped off. Just that we had been spoiled in Spain.
5) The entertainment was dire in the first week. All we saw the Annimation team do was eat, and then half heartedly play bingo. But they went up in my estimation after the comedy night and the brilliant Beach Party.
6) The beach Jetty is gorgeous, we spent most of the time there. The water is crystal clear. Buy a snorkle mask the fish our incredible and there are hundreds. Feed them with Bread and you will see lots of different types fighting for the bread.
7)Staff are freindly and will help you with anything. Always working hard.
All in all we had a fantastic time and would return because the hotel is in such a good location, you can chill out or go for a mad one in Bodrum. Yes we heard a few horror stories of the people that had arrived before us and it sounded a nightmare but in our experience it was perfect and worth going to.

| said: The hotel was good. There 4 adults in the group were a little nervous but from the moment we arrived we had little to moan about. The rooms we as clean as any resort I have stayed at in the Med. For the most part you are not in a room on holiday so as long as they are cleaned ok that is good.
The food at the hotel was pretty great. If they have sorted themselves out recently then they have done very well in a short space of time. It was good with regards to selection, quality and hygene. The staff wore gloves to touch food. All items covered and iced. Beer and wine always available. Only complaint from our group was coctails would be nice as we have had them in caribean resorts on all inc.
Staff overall are nice and professional.
The entertainment - well what entertainment - get yourself to Bodrum or Gumbet using the free shuttle bus. We spotted the entertainment team eating brekkie, lunch and dinner and sun worshiping but that was it. Nil point eurovision styleee.
Overall I would visit here again - for money it was excellent. Go there and enjoy!

It was clean and the pool area was amazing! The food was nice and there was lots of it!
The staff did their very best to be friendly towards you and we found ourselves making many friends at the hotel!
There are a lot of water sports on offer at an extra cost but they are quite cheap!
The entertainment I thought was not very good as it is all aimed at the kids but there is a disco after 11.30 pm which is quite good but after midnight you have to pay for drinks which can be quite expensive.
I would definately recomend this hotel to everybody as I will most definately be going back next year and if you read bad reviews don't worry as the hotel is beautiful and great value for money!

Food was perfect. The staff were lovely mostly Enging Peres and Ersan!
This was a really good holiday and I wish I could have stayed there.

| said: I travelled with my friend and my son at the end of August 2004. My main complaint was that our rooms were in different locations and my friends phone was not working in her room, in fact it was not even connected.
She complaind several times to reception, even resorting to taking the phone to them at one point but nothng was done in the whole week we were there. I dread to think what would have happened in an emergency as she was in one of the rooms out side on the hill.
She also had a problem with ants, I was in the main hotel and apart from the shower head breaking, my room was ant free, incidently my shower was fixed and I only complained 3 times.
The veiws from the pool were breathtaking and the hotel in general was clean and the staff were ok but the location of the restaurant left a lot to be desired, you had to go down a lot of steps to get to it and as often happend the lift would break down and you would have to walk up them in the sweltering heat, you had to stop at the top of each flight to get your breath. Anyone in a wheel chair or young children in pushchairs would never had been able to manage.
The food was a bit repetitive and was not labelled very well so you did not know what you were eating, we ate quite early so found the food to be of an adequate temperature.
The entertainment, well what can I say, it was absolutely pathetic, it would have been better not to have anything at all, I have never seen such a load of rubbish in all my life, Miss belevarde one night , Mr Beleverde another night, and the comedy night, well we wont go into that, and oh we should not forget the bingo,it was absolute tosh.
I was very wary after having read some of the reveiws before I went and as I am a travel agent, I have to say that I would not stay at the hotel again myself,I would reccomend it only though but only to people who were fit and did not mind making their own enjoyment.
It is a shame as this could be a cracking hotel if they sorted out the lift or even put the restaurant in the main hotel.

| said: The hotels cleanliness was just about perfect, there were a few minor things that could have been corrected. Nothing drastic.
The food became so boring and repetitive after roughly 3 days, but hey if you’re hungry and it's there then you eat it.
The location was beautiful, instead of looking out onto other hotels it was just us. Our own resort. Gorgeous!
The staff were so nice, they were friendly, funny, talented (flipping bottles wow) they are also quite flirty, which can be quite nice, sending drinks to the table just generally being nice.
The entertainment were so nice to me personally they were really friendly, I spent a lot of time with them and got to know them really well. The job they did was so well thought out there was always things to do with them. One show was extremely funny (engin "cola, fanta" miss you loads engin) well most of them are.
I would definitely return and I would recommend you to go and experience it.
Made loads of friends, great reps it's worth checking out!

| said: Club Bellavedre is in a beautiful setting, with its own private beach, this therefore means no fighting for a space to sun bath.
I read the other reviews on this page after I came back from my holiday......thank god I did. Some of the reviews on this page don’t give the hotel the credit it deserves.
It is a reasonably clean hotel, being cleaned by staff every day. Fresh linen every day and the towels were changed too. The food in this place is out of this world. Such a selection to choose from. Freshly prepared regularly. You actually saw many of the food cooked in front of you. You could eat and drink as much as you wanted without any one even caring. It is for this reason I thought the steps were a good thing it help burn off calories. I do think though it’s not a great hotel for those with walking difficulties as the stairs are a strain I'm sure.
I thought the staff were extremely helpful and pleasant and in fact we're still in contact with many of berit, memmet, eursan, fredi. Great bunch of lads. They work hard of very little money long hard hours.
I would certainly go again. Bodrum is a delightful place wonderful setting and views. The entertainment did leave me a little disappointed it wasn’t as good as I expected as every thing else was such a high standard. I thought it was a great thing that the hotel supplied a complimentary minibus into town.

| said: We arrived at the hotel about 2:00AM. checked in, they had porters to carry our suitcases to our rooms which were on the lowest level and furthest away from reception.
When we awoke and looked out in the morning we were greeted with fantastic views of the bay with the island of Kos in the background.
Robert(17)and Katie(15)soon made friends and were happy using the two pools or swimming in the clear sea.
I spent a fair bit of time fishing off the jetty with Steve from Exeter and also Sergio (who was supposed to sell Turkish baths to the guests,) while our wives enjoyed the sunbathing.
There was a lovely cooling breeze through the day which dropped at night.
We found the staff friendly and our rooms were clean but we needed to be careful of shoddy workmanship i.e. hairdryer and light fittings hanging off the wall.
The food was quite nice but after the first week it got very boring so we went into Bodrum or Gumbet some evenings to eat out for a change.
We didn't think much of the evening entertainment other than the Turkish evening and the beach party.
The kids usually watched the late film and then went on to the disco at 11.30 p.m.
The downside to this holiday were:
1) The smell of sewage near our rooms and in the tram
2) Being served beer in plastic beakers and the limited assortment of spirits.
3) There was a kettle with cups and saucers in our rooms but no tea, coffee or milk to make a drink.
4) Food menu needs changing.
5) Entertainment was poor, the animation team thought they were superstars but they were rubbish.
All in all we did enjoy the holiday and would go back if we knew there had been changes made to the above points.

The second room was ok although the balcony was as big as my finger nail! The bell boy took our bags and refused to leave until we gave him a tip.... Not a good start.
The worst aspect of this hotel is the food, diabolical. The same choice every day and my diet of cucumber and melon did not satisfy. About 8 people in the hotel including my mate Cat became ill due to the hotel food for a five star hotel we were not happy.
The staff and the reps were very unhelpful, happy to accept money for trips etc but not interested in sorting out a problem.
Many of our friends had money and valuable items stolen from the rooms and the bedding was not changed for over a week which is disgusting!!
However!!! The best part of the hotel was the water sports! Tony and sexy Pepsi are the most fantastic pair of the whole hotel. Very funny, kind, happy to help and now are very good friends.
The doctor was very nice and helpful, he deserves a raise and a lot more respect.
Anyone who sees a cameraman with short dark hair and blonde highlights, be careful if you are a white English girl he can be horrible
We won’t be returning to this hotel it was beyond awful worse than faulty towers! However we will be going to hotel Sami in Gumbet next year as I hear it’s fantastic.

| said: After reading the reviews on this hotel, I found myself in front of the first choice agents stating what I had read regarding the Club Bellaverde, Bodrum.
"They stated we have not received any complaints regarding this hotel" after checking with customer services they did come back and told me that some customers had complained and been moved to another locations.
Two weeks before departing we arranged to go back and ask for an update on the hotel and the reviews, they said that all work had been completed and had received no new complaints, I backed this up by checking on this site, they were receiving good reviews.
Well it all starts.
The rooms were like shoe boxes and not very clean, some plugs hanging off the walls, light switch wires showing and been covered with paint, gaps under the doors allowing all kinds to get through, The bathroom was small and dirty, with paint flaking from the ceiling and mould around the base of the shower.
No sink plugs, take these with you to have a good wash.
My wife and I asked for an adjoining rooms to our children, they were in a separate room but we had three arches so no privacy.
The food for the first week was not bad, but the second week the choice was basically salad, if you are a meat eater think again as most of the barbecued meats were not cooked properly.
Drinks, as an all inclusive deal you expect a well stocked bar, your choices are local gin, vodka, brandy, beer and local red and white wine, plus soft drinks for kids.
The complex is on the side of a hill and there are lots of steps, we found that we had to keep stopping for breaks.
The reception area is the best-kept area; all other areas still require finishing touches, painting and general maintenance.
The pool areas were dirty and around the pool there was damaged gutters where the water returns to be cleaned, guests kept tripping through these holes, we did complain to the rep but nothing got done during our 14 night stay.
The lighting outside in the complex is very basic and around the stairs between the apartments and needs major works carried out as this is a safety issue and dangerous to walk around at night.
The toilets by the pool bar need to be locked at all times as the general condition is very dirty and smelly, we complained to the rep and we did see some works being carried out but again not to a good standard.
During the day there was a sewage smell throughout the complex, sometimes strong enough to take your breath away.
Everyday we endured power cuts; the beach party was a disaster, as the DJ could not finish one song without the power going down.
The entertainment staff with limited facilities are worth their weight in gold, they work very hard to keep guests entertained and very friendly.
Overall the hotel was not value for money, and have written to First choice, we could not wait to get back on the plane.

| said: Because of the poor reports in the six weeks or so prior to our departure I was really apprehensive....however, once we got there I was much relieved. There were superficial defects in the room -poor finishes to work ( signs of a rushed job! )but this wasn't an issue. The power went off quite a few times, but once again, it was no big deal ( unless you were unfortunate to be stuck in the lift!!)
There were lots of steps - as noted in the brochure, useful for working off all those calories which came in the form of good food and booze!
Hotel is walking distance to Gumbet ( uphill on way back - get a taxi, very cheap)and there is a free shuttle to Bodrum.
Staff friendly and accommodating. Entertainment was all done 'in-house'. the staff worked really hard and overall the standard was OK. (Often hotels import their entertainers.) My kids loved it! Recommend the beach party. In our second week the disco opened which allowed us to party on until the early hours! Just as well as our room was close to it( beware the top two floors if you are not a night owl).
Wouldn't visit again - life's too short, too many other places to see! Apparently it's a typical Turkish hotel, so if you aren't one to set your standards too high I would recommend Bellaverde.

| said: The food was really good with lots of selection and the pancakes were wonderful. The views from the location were beautiful, but very isolated from other bars and clubs. We were informed the hotel was refurbished, but we weren't impressed. The lifts weren't always working and the quantity of stairs was ridiculous and some were dangerous and unlit. The smell from the tram lift was undesirable. The maid service was good, clean towels every day. Electrical wiring a little to be desired. Lots and lots of power cuts, got stuck in the lift with no lights. Some staff were too friendly for my liking. The all inclusive drinks was a nightmare - about 4 cups of beer made one pint and you were only allowed two drinks each time you went to the bar. We spent all night there! We were extremely dissappointed by the quality of workmanship for a newly refurbished hotel. We didn't expect the same as home but we did expect better than we got. The public toilets on site would have been better had the doors locked. We counted the amount of stairs from the beach to the lobby - near on 300 - that's a lot of stairs to climb when the lifts aren't working! This was the worst holiday we have ever had.

The food was superb. It was a bit repetitive, but there was so much choice that i think you would find it hard to try everything in 2 weeks.
The Staff are terrific, very friendly and always willing to help.
We spent most of our time at the upper pool and so chose not to join in the daytime activities, but those that did were well entertained.
We met some great people and made lots of new friends including Paul, Susan and Ashley and Michelle and Shane. We also met John, Elaine and Charlotte on the boat trip and Parasailing organised by Tony so hi to you guys.
Overall, if you are willing to turn a blind eye to some of the health and safety issues, accept that the lifts will occassionally break down, the power will go off at random and the odd dodgy smell, you will havea great time. Certainly value for money

Room was well sized with a good sized bathroom, yes the enamel was peeling off the bath and the grouting wasn't brill but we were in Turkey not England. We had a fantastic view across the bay.
After settling we went to try and find a drink but didn't know where to start, our reps meeting wasn't until 1pm the next day. Found an Englishman who very kindly gave us a quick tour. Spoke to Charlie later who gave us all our info etc. so we didn't have to waste the next day waiting for meeting. Thanks Charlie. (Did point out that when people arrive it would help if they were given the restaurant, bar times, etc and a quick idea of where they were).
Room was looked at most days can't say it was properly cleaned we did have clean towels every day, and for the first week the bed was made with all the extra frills, this was done by a young girl. The second week we had an older cleaner who never moved the pillows and certainly didn't fold any cloths even putting covers over things that were on the bed. Needless to say she didn't get a tip.
The restaurant was great with good views and lots to choose from. Freshly barbecued fish or meat every night, with plenty of different salads, potatoes, pasta and breads, to name but a few. The Turkish night was very entertaining. The chefs were very friendly and the waiters were very efficient sometimes taking your plates a bit too soon but we sorted that. Sinan was excellent and became like a friend to us all. The snack bar was good with a good choice throughout the afternoon. Kaan was superb even showing Charlotte how to braid hair against the head. Birat at the bar was great even if he did pinch my cap everytime I saw him, overall all the waiting staff were kind and friendly making you feel like you have known them for ages, but they are watched like hawks from management so are always looking over their shoulders.
The Animation Team were fab, Pires (Bruv), Engin, Ersan, Gokhan, Didi, Funda, Anya, Varia, Chief & Jessica, they worked hard and had to put up with the young teenagers throughout the day with no complaining. The pooool games were a good laugh and they always tried to have as many people join as possible. The Club Dance was excellent with everyone standing around the pool joining in. There was not a lot for the younger kids but for the teenagers it was brill. The evening entertainment was good, they all worked so hard but you have to remember you are in a foreign country and accept them at a different level to English entertainment they deserve medals!!! During our stay the Disco opened and was on every night from 11.30pm - 2.30am and was enjoyed by all ages. It can heard from some of the rooms though, be warned.
The watersports were good with plenty to choose from, these were extra but well worth a try. Tony and Captain were two lovely blokes always happy and yes Tony still has the quiksilver shorts with the orange flowers. (Thanks for looking after Charlotte and Hannah, you'll see the evidence of them being there if you visit there yellow office).
Overall we had a fantastic holiday, we met lots of great people and enjoyed our stay to the full, forget about the power cuts and stairs, these are things you are warned about before you go. In 2weeks there was only once that I had to use the stairs in the main hotel because of a power cut, one lift was broken for about 5 days, but the other was still working. Yes there was sometimes an awful smell from the tram lift and occasionally it wasn't working. They could do with a bit more lighting on the stairs near the snack bar, I'm sure this will be rectified in the near future.

| said: This is the seconed time i have ever been All inclusive and it wasnt as nice as i had thought it would be, we fount the food to be cold and very repetative, also we caught the chef putting raw chicken on the BBQ with his hands then picking up cooked chicken and placing it on to a kiddies plate without washing his hands.
After that it put me off the food for a while, i also suffered terrible stomouch problems while over ther some definatly take some imodium with you.
The location of this hotel was breath taking the views at sunset and sunrise were fantastic, but the own side to this is because its out the way abit, it is on a very steep hill, and ladies id leave your heels at home because this is not the place to wear them. but due to the lay out of the hotel its not the place that i would take children between the ages of 1yr and 4yrs as every thing is very open there are no fences to shut off pools or the sea areas, you would need eyes in the back of your head a serous accident is waiting to happen. but on the good side its a very nicely layed out hotel things are always going on always food and drink avalible, we had a great holiday.
On the Entertainment side, well what can i say the evening entertainment is an experince the entertainment team are fab but they have a long way to go before they would even get in to Butlins! But give them there due they worked 17 hour days and would do anything for you during the day the entetainment started at 9:45 and finished at around 11:00 but there is a kiddies mini disco everyday, but if you want a good night out go to see the Dream girls in Gumbert its 3 blokes from leeds there fantastic worth the money! and have just opened a nightclub/family disco by the tennis courts this opens at 11:30 till bout 2:am but you can only get your free drinks till 12:00.
Overall we had a great time and im sure you will to dont take these views to heart you need to go and make your own decision, i strongly think that a holiday is only what you make it, but this hotel has great potentioal and i would go back next year, my tips for your stay are: take sterling aswell as leria you will get a better exchange rate.
If your blonde be careful in the markets and around the towns.
Take lots of bite spray and savlon, you will need it. dont be scared to haggle with locals. Also if you have young children or struggle in the heat DONT do the roman city(ethasis) trip as they tell you it takes two hours to get there but it doesnt it takes about four and your there for two hours then it take around four hours to get back, lets just say we left at seven in the morning and didnt get back till eight at night, and there was no shade at at all
Just relax and have a great holiday
The hotel was clean our room wasnt the nicest but it was bareable, the water pressure was very weak so i had to wash my hair under the bathroom tap.(not ideal really)

| said: As some other people on this page had doubts about going here..we did too...but i wish i hadn't worried so much!.....
Got to hotel and within 15-20 mins were escorted to our room PLUS our bags were carried, we gave a tip to them to and they looked very pleased indeed!....as we arrived in the middle of the night we just chucked our bags down and turned in for the rest of the night, nothing could have prepared us for the view that we woke up to a few hours later.....it was absolutely breathtaking!
We went down for breakfast which is much of a muchness everyday but i suppose theres only so much you can do for breakfast, but there was definately plenty to go round...sausage,scrambled egg, different breads, cereals, sliced meats, sliced cheeses, and an assortment of fruit juices which were delicious!
We didn't sit by the pool as we thought the music was a little too loud for our liking but they've got a decent sized private jetty which we used everyday and it was heaven looking out across the bay and jumping into the sea whenever you wanted to, and theres plenty of sunbeds, umbrellas and tables to put you're drinks on. The beach bar waiter who was there most days was a diamond...(say hello to Barat from Tarzan and Jayne for us!!!) he had you're drinks waiting for you before you even got up to the bar !!
Mealtimes were 12:30 till 2:30 and 7:30 till 9:30 and were a pleasure...so many different dishes a few were changed each day so it didn't become too monotonous plus the different breads and juices ,beer, wine, tea, coffee and local spirits were also available.
Their pieces of decoration on the buffet trolleys were great ...really added something special to the display...the waiters worked very hard...a lot of them from morning till night so we gave a good tip before we went home! :) The reps were great if you had a problem ..we had a bit of trouble with our loo for a couple of days but we found out that we hadn't turned the overflow on so there wasn't a worry there...the room itself was basic but clean tea and coffee making facilities, fridge and tv... maids came everyday and arranged your bed sheets in lovely shapes on your bed..and if you are anything like us, who leave everything lying about , they even folded your clothes and put them away for you!
The only gripe we had about the place was the entertainment... the comedy nights and things just weren't funny and it wasn't really aimed at British audiences or any other nationality for that matter apart from their own!..the daytime activities looked quite good fun although we didn't join in so we give them two points for that!
All in all though the place was fantastic and we are planning on visiting next year...i think it should be even better by next year once all the little teething problems have been ironed out..but the staff seemed to be bringing new things in each day to make it look that little bit better....but we really couldn't fault the place and can't wait to go back!!...we thoroughly recommend it !

| said: Hotel is the wrong description this place is hell on earth where to start.
Check in at 6am taken to room 1620 just needed a couple of hours sleep did not take much notice of the room immediately then no sooner had we gonne to bed then the staff started to use the entrance just outside our room with a metal gate slamming shut every couple of minutes they shouted at each other and used two way radios until finally we gave up and got up.
The Reps Charley and Becky were absolute stars and with their help we got a room transfer to the third floor the room was filthy the electrics lethal the bath had been painted with emulsion which was peeling off and when you use the shower the lights flickered on and off and the plaster fell off the ceiling on to your head.
We stayed one night and decided that evening to go out having got a safe we went to get some cash to get away for the evening and the safe had locked us out showing error on the display reception arranged for someone to come and look at it so we were stuck there.
When we returned to the room with an engineer two hours later the safe was swinging open great security.
Enough was enough and we demanded either a flight home or a transfer to a different hotel no matter what it cost.
This is one place I would not recommend to my worst enemy it is horrible there is a smell of raw sewage everywhere it is filthy dirty and very dangerous if you have booked unbook change it cancel it but do not go anywhere near it.
I have read through the other reports on this page now as I was not aware of its existence until another person at the hotel told us about it hence this report.
Throughout our short stay Charley and Becky (who has now left to go to University ) where brilliant they did all they could for us including getting the office to waive both cancellation and other fees to move us I will hear no wrong against them but as with all things if you are nice to people despite your problems then you will get a lot further. We actually had an evening out with the two reps later in the week which was in their own time and they did not have to do and can never thank them enough, Well done girls !!!!!
To give you a better idea the move was from all inclusive to half board and ended up costing us several hundred pounds extra worth every single penny.
The music was inappropriate considering their where children there Eminem is not my idea of what six year olds should be listening to.
The music was very loud and in your face day and night so hey club 18-30 get in there.

Check in was smooth no problems there found the reps at the welcome meeting were only really interested in selling excursions which we didn,t take other than that really didn'y have much to do with them.
food was excellant and i'm a very fussy vegetarian who doesn't eat a great deal of fruit aand veg so if i can manage anyone can. drinks never ran out once pools were absolutely immaculate although we never used them preferring to go down on the jetty.
Now for the bad thing, entertainment was diabolical we stomached it a bit the first night and made sure we were out every other night. Most of the staff were great especially barat on the beach bar he was a real gem. All round we had an excellant holiday and plan to return next year.

| said: I was very worried about going to this hotel, but when I arrived it was the best holiday I've ever had.
It was cheap, what do you expect.
The staff were very friendly and I made friends with nearly all of them. I also got to know the entertainers, as well as all my family.
The facitlies for water activities were excellent, great guy called Tony gave both kids free rides.
One let down wasn't the hotel or the staff, it was the people staying there, one in particular was a very moaning woman, she had a litle boy who bullied all the other kids, and she walked around as if she owned the place.
There were a few rows between a family and them. Other than that the holiday was a success and everyone was pleased with the location we picked and would truly recommed the hotel to anyone.
The food was good and the breakfasts was very good.
The reception area was excellent as there were many bars and seating areas.

| said: Hotel Beleverde, the all inclusive resort run by Basil Faulty and the First Choice reps.... aka Becky.
Club Beleverde is a mix between faulty towers and HMP service.
Upon arriving you are greeted with a well prepared reception crew happy to make your holiday the best you will have..... then the holiday from hell starts!
The rooms first appear basic though the welcome of air-conditioning and a fridge add's the extra to the room. If your looking for a room that electricutes you, wires that are exposed and dirty water then this is the room for you!
The Poolside is very dirty indeed and not safe for children. If your happy to let your kid's slip on dirt, fag buts and catch ear infections from the water this is going to be a great holiday and one I would certainly recommend.
The Food offers a limited choice and not recommened if you have dietary requirements. The cooked meats run only to chicken and I think it was beef, though be careful as a que for meets often leads to uncooked meats be given out. If your one for salads minus the basic requirement of lettuce most nights you'll enjoy this one!
To help distinguish food we asked for the food to be labelled which the hotel accomodated....excellent if you can read Turkish!
The Reps: Happy to sell you tours, unhappy to accomodate taking a complaint. The youngest one becky is the most unhelpful rep I have ever come across and really needs to think of an alternative carrer choice perhaps not in Customer Service.
The entertainment: Very Basic and finishes at 11ish every night.
OVERALL: Not a holiday venue I would recommend and definately one for young people....... we were sold this one on a lively complex catering for your every need! (providing you like dirt, unsafe surroundings, drinks running out, unfriendly reps)

| said: 8 of us arrived at approx 4am and everything went smoothly at reception, we were all shown to our rooms, myself and my partner had 2 of the children with us in our room, 1 child ours (9) and our friends daughter (12)
when we went into the room we were shocked at the size of the bunk beds approx 4 foot and both the children were taller than that, upon closer inspection of the room we saw that the main fuse box which was in-between the bunks had no cover on it and what looked like live wires sticking out, the lamp in the room didn't work as the bulb had been smashed and left in the lamp, the wardrobe doors were leaning against the wall and the carpet from the bathroom was curled up so when you came out of the bathroom you could trip over and hit the wall, the bathroom had wires sticking out of the wall and the bath's enamel was peeling off, the shower was green with mould so we went back to reception and asked to be moved, this took around 45 mins then we were moved down the corridor to room number 2.
This room had an adjoining door and when we tried it, it opened into someone else's room, the solution was to put a table in front of it, 2 of the drawers had no bottom in them and the wardrobe had no hangers and the plug sockets were just wires coming out of the wall.
The bathroom was filthy and had a large hole above the shower. The shower itself was covered in brown and green mould from top to bottom and totally unusable but by this time we were all very tired so we went to sleep.
The following morning we tried to find our friends so their daughter could see them and we were amazed to find out that their room was on the second floor close to the sea (we were in the hotel itself 5 floors up) so our friends daughter was very upset that she was so far away.
We went to reception the following morning to sort the rooms out, with the help of Charlie the rep and around 2 hours of talking to the hotel staff we got to move down closer to our friends but then found out that the 2 children had to have their own room which was two rooms away from ours but on top of my friends room, by this time we were ready to collapse so we just accepted the situation. But where given the warning that the girls could lose their room at any time if the hotel could find 2 single beds to move into their respective parents rooms so the girls where not allowed to unpack during the holiday and lived out of suitcases.
As the girls where aged 9 and 12 we spent the whole holiday taking it in turns to check on the children through the night losing several hours sleep collectively. Along with all this there was an incident when someone went for a number 2 in the top pool and it stayed there for 2 days, we never swam in there again,
Electricity and water forever going off, the lifts breaking down on a regular basis, we were charged for fresh orange at breakfast and the hotel shop which say’s 24 hours closes when it feel’s like it and is 2-3 times more expensive than Gumbet (taxi to Gumbet 5 million lira, about £2)(taxi to Bodrum 10 million lira, about £4)
This has been the worse all inclusive I have ever been on. Don’t get me wrong, Turkey itself is lovely but the hotel I described here was awful, maybe given time things will improve but if you are the slightest bit unfit don’t go as the steps from the main hotel to the sea will see you off there are approx 300 steps and if the cable car packs up which is often you have to climb.
The best thing about the place was a restaurant in Gumbet called “The Green Dragon”, in this place you can get almost anything you want from Chinese, Indian, Mexican, Italian, French, Turkish, steak and English breakfast also this might sound daft but you wait??? They have baked beans on toast; the 8 of us spent approx 5 evenings there (say hello to oktay dasik the best waiter you could ask for and victor who was superb).

| said: Having read previuos comments about the hotel iwas a little worried. However, on arrival there were no problems with checking in. Drinks available and shown to the room within 15 minutes. It's worth having your bags carried because depending where your room is it can be a fair walk from reception. A tip for the porter is worth it, especially that early in the morning.
The room was fine, clean and plenty of room and everything worked as it should. No problems with hot water, though why you would want it in the shower with the temperqature outside so hot, i don't know.
Food was great, plenty of it and a good variety i thought. Admittedly mainly chicken for meat, but hey when in rome etc. Why go abrord if all you want to eat is burger and chips? But there was plenty of that provided if you wanted it and pizza. The only reason you would struggle to enjoy your food is if you are a very fussy eater. Plenty of salads, choice of hot meals every meal time. It was great.
the location was wonderful. Beautiful setting looking across to the island of Kos in the distance and other isalnds. Yes there are lots of steps but it does warn you of this in the brochure. Just think of the benefit for your legs and bum. Better than an aerobic class!
I found the staff to be friendly and helpful. If you treat them politely and respectfully they treat you the same. No complaints here at all.
entertainment was quite amusing. The staff worked hard. However i didn't realise they were showing films at the end of the evening until the last few days of the holiday. Spiderman 2 and Shrek 2 are a couple of examples.
i would definitely visit Club Bellaverde again, and from my experience don't be concerned by some of the previous comments.
One tip, however, if you want to book some trips to Ephesus, the mud baths etc. book locally in Bodrum. I went with Director Tours, opposite the courtesy bus drop off in Bodrum, and saved over £20 on just 2 trips. £20 instead of £33 with 1st Choice to Ephesus and £14 instead of £23 to Dalyan. All with English speaking guides who new their stuff.
All in all a wonderful holiday and exceptional value for money.

| said: A couple of days before we flew out to the hotel, we all got a little anxious after hearing bad reports about the hotel that we were about to fly out to. We were then reassured by my boyfriends dad, as his mate had just come back and it said it was amazing.
I can only say that i have to agree. I have never been abroad before and what a way to start! It was obvious that the hotel was still a little under repair, but to me that wasn't an issue at all. I had the best time of my life
Everyday the rooms were cleaned by maids, who did a very good job and sometimes even left flowers on the bed, which i thought was a very nice touch. The air conditioning was very good and kept me alive as i'd never been to a hotter country than the UK before, and turkey was having a heatwave while we stayed, it's hot!
I think that the food was Unbelievable. so were the catering staff, and waiting staff. There was a wide range of food available for everyones tastes, and if u missed home too much they even did chips some days! most of the food was cooked freshly infront of you, and it was fabulous. The waiting staff were very very friendly and very effecient. The catering staff were superb, and one night they even had a massive party on the beach for everyone and organzied a fireworks display.
The location of the hotel was breath taking, spliting Bodrum and Gumbet with Incredible views of both, especially at night.
The staff were all so friendly and helpful. They really appreciate it too if you try to speak some turkish to them. They did everything they could to make you have the best time possible. watch out for cheeky barman barat! He was a star.
The entertainment was good, but not always to my taste, although the staff worked very hard to kepp people entertained, doing different types of things evey night. One of the highlights of the holiday was kids mini disco! fabulous music! What a laugh.
I really would love to come back to this hotel

But my boyfried said to go and see for ourselves which we did and I am so glad I didn't change it .
The staff at this hotel are amazing they are so helful ,kind and friendly. They would go out of there way to make sure you had eveything that you need.
The food was greta the maids were brillant our room was always clean and tiday they would even fold your clothes if the were in a mess.
The entertainment team was great and envolved all the guests.
I would also say that all the people that we met there during our stay made our holiday starting with Richard and Daniel , Gary Joanne Alisha and Joss who were little darling.
Hope that everyone who is going here has a great time if it is half as good as ours you will have a ball.
P.S For a good night in gumbet go to Ali Baba's karakoe bar it cost us £16 for a full night drinking for 4 adults and also in Smiles Bar great family fun

| said: Before we arrived at this hotel we were really worried having read previous reports of rude staff taking hours to check guests in, rooms being like building sites, inedible food etc. It couldn't have been more different to these reports.
As soon as we arrived at 6am friendly staff rushed out to greet us and carried our luggage into the reception area. We filled in a short form and were immediately shown to our room. Our room was probably the furthest room in the entire hotel from reception and was down many stairs but one of the staff picked up both of our heavy suitcases and ran to our room with them, so fast that we almost couldnt keep up with him! He did expect a tip when we arrived at the room (we gave him about £4) but we were more than happy to give it to him after all of his help.
The room was nice and very clean. The air conditioning worked well all week and there was a daily maid service.
Small warning - on the last day as we were packing the maid knocked on our door and came in to our room, and after much sign language and confusion we realised that she was after a tip! We had to keep giving her money until she was happy, which wasn't until we had given her about £10, and she still didn't look completely happy then!
The food was absolutely amazing, the choice was unbelievable and the majority of food was cooked freshly in front of you.
The pool areas had plenty of sunbeds and the pools were really clean.
The bar staff and restaurant staff were really friendly and very efficient.
The only one to watch out for (other than the maid) is possibly the photographer. He was really nice when taking the photos but when we went to see them the next day we decided we didnt really like any of them enough to buy them. We were going to just buy one as a holiday memory but he was trying to sell us a CD with about 27 photos on for £100! When we said we only wanted 1 photo he told us that we had to buy at least six as if we only bought one he couldnt even afford to buy a packet of cigarettes! He was getting quite funny with us so we decided not to buy anything at all!
There are millions of stairs in the hotel but there is a lift to take you up to reception from the pool areas.
The entertainment is good if not a bit cheesy, would prefer a night out in Bodrum or Gumbet though!
We were told that the hotel was in Bodrum but it is much closer to Gumbet than Bodrum. However, it is easy to get around by bus and if you need a taxi just ask at reception and they are there literally within seconds.
Overall we couldn't really fault the hotel, we just couldn't believe what a nice surprise it was that it was so different to all of the bad reviews! We would definitely consider visiting it again and would recommend it to anyone.
We would recommend the First Choice bar crawl and if you only eat out once it has to be at the Golden Plate restaurant on the sea front in Bodrum. We went on our 2nd to last night and it was so good, both food and atmosphere that we spent our last evening there aswell.

| said: We arrived on July 11th 04 at 4.30am pretty impressed by the reception area I thought ive picked a lovely hotel as i always get bad luck.
Well we were shown to our room by staff who took our luggage, but 2 weeks later we discovered that that was only because the lifts never work and are always breaking down and if they are working watch your arm doesn't get chopped off in the things! On arrival in our room we discovered a great big dead moth the size of your palm, This room obviously hadnt been vacumed I think the cleaners were on strike on our landing, the fridge wasn't working it took the hotel staff 48hrs to solve this small problem.
Then following morning unpacked some clothes and put them in the so called wardrobe, to my horror, there was the main fuse board for the room with all exposed wiring, I couldn;t believe it. Next to have a shower, water dribbled out of the tap and shower, cold at that, I didnt expect it to be scorching, luke warm would have been nice. Next morning told reception about water and shower dribbling they said would sort it. Never did until 10 days later, I was getting sick of complaining, just after 2 days newly arrived guests were asking to be transfered to a different hotel, not 1 or 2 parties, several.
Unfitted carpet ajoining the bathroom nearly caused my husband to have a very nasty fall. Everyone looked impressive around the hotel cleaning banasters and bar tops but believe me more needed cleaning than this. My son spent his first day in the pool on Monday, Tuesday evening we had to see the club doctor, he'd caught a throat infection, Im sure from the pool the doctor seemed to agree with me as I didnt see any testing of the water during the day, I enquired the rep said it was done in the early hours of the morning but i just think that was another cover up for the lack of health and safety issues concerning this hotel.
Oh then there was the gas bottle that caught fire in the restaurant, we thought it was going to explode!!! Staff eventually came out with a fire extinguisher and doubted the fire, the white powder had also gone all over the food but they never changed that. Overall the food was good, good selection of salads and other dishes, not enough kids food, a kids menu only appeared our second week and that was served at a different time to the adults meals, how stupid, then the ice cream they didnt serve it as often as the brochure stated it should even though we asked.
Then a member of staff told us how a 19 year old kitchen porter had been electricuted and died, due to bad electrics, reps again covered this up! and said it was just a rumour from other guests - we knew different.
So if any electricians are going to this hotel please do an official complaint to first choice and the hotel about how unsafe the hotel really is.
Oh I neally forgot the fire alarms going off on our last night thank god it wasnt a serious fire, the staff hadnt got a clue on how to evacuate a building or put a fire out no extinguishers in sight several staff had to run to another part of the hotel for them. People were still left in thier rooms!
The location - fantastic views tahts about the only good thing short taxi ride away from gumbet (Blackpool) and Bodrum great place and people if any wants a good tattoo by a real artist go to shadow tattooist by the ellese shop in bodrum just ask any one of the locals they will direct you, and tell him the man from England who had a Motocross bike on his shoulder recommended him.(Thanks)And say hello to the lads outside the shop who sell the sunglasses they looked after me and my sister for 4 hours while our partners had tattoos, apple tea and entertainment was provided also good head and shoulder massages free.
The steps on this complex are unbelieveable and all the brochure states is that the hotel is not suitable for people with walking difficulties, what a joke, you need to be a super athelete, ther was 160 steps from our room on the 3rd floor down to the pool. It was ok going down but my god if the lift wasnt working youd had it going back up. Herendous!!!!! Games room and gym, gym equipment all damaged, unusable no airconditioning I just reccommend you use all the steps as form of excercise. Kids club - never saw one.
Hotel Staff: most very friendly and always smiling very efficient considering they work a 15 hour day, 7 days a week for only £150, dont know how they do it, no wonder they want English Wives! All managers very arrogant treated thier staff like slaves also hit them infront of guests, very unproffessional.
Entertainment: Staff lovely again, worked very hard to try and please, Hello to Serhan and crew I think by the end of the season they'll have it cracked.
Well as for coming back, I dont think so, this hotel is supposed to be refurbished they havnt finished it yet and we were told that they couldnt afford for it not to open this season hense it being unfinished, it used to be called Club M. apparently there is a web site dedicated to it and im sure the photos in the first choice brocure are of club M not Club bellaverde.
anyway i think that about enough, dont say I didnt warn you! And look for more reviews shortly, Im sure there will be some more coming from the people who came home on our flight.

| said: Hello to everyone who has been or is going to CLUB BELLAVERDE in the summer of 2004. Me and my partner have just come back from a two week holiday in Turkey, staying at this hotel and was prepared for the worst when arriving after all the Crap we read about it.
We both had a fantastic time this hotel is in a perfect location on a hillside splitting Gumbet and Bodrum, the view’s are breathtaking and I guess we fell lucky with our room as it was overlooking all the Bodrum sea and Jetty at belleverde.
Some people did have problems with either size of room, air con not working, flooding, but once complaining the problem was solved or moved to other room.
The staff there were Amazing, you could see them working very hard to improve the hotel after it got off to a bad start, but every day something different would happen to improve the place, example – POOL TABLE – KIDS MEALS – MOVIE ALMOST EVERY NIGHT – Spiderman 2.
I just feel that this hotel has some minor problems but every day they are being fixed and improved and come 2005 this hotel will be even better.
Apparently the whole management staff were replaced just before we arrived on the 3rd of July and you could see the improvements.
The beach – or Jetty is very good – was always down there sunbathing and near the beach bar – and I recommend you to try the discover scuba diving at the European Diving Centre – which is located in the row of shops in Club bellaverde, say Hello to Kerry, Yanis & Morat – who were the Diving instructors, they were so patient and friendly and took so much time with us, and now I am hooked on the diving They were Amazing.
The food is very good – lots of choice and always something to eat throughout the day, as an all inclusive it does get boring eating at the same place every night, so we went out to Gumbet and Bodrum a few times for a meal.
Some places to recommend should you want a great meal
Gumbet – Green Dragon & Red dragon – very good value – Gumbet is cheaper than Bodrum and nearer in the Taxi about - 5million = £2
Bodrum is about 10million = £4 – double after midnight.
But try the Free bus service into Bodrum from the hotel – no bus to gumbet though – takes about 15mins walking into Gumbet all down hill. But get a taxi back. Eating in Bodrum was in the narrow shopping streets – called
Blanca Restaurant – looks small from outside but goes out onto the harbour – great views of the castle – and the food was amazing and the staff so friendly, more expensive than Gumbet but well worth it.
Going back to the Hotel the Entertainment staff were very good, always running around in yellow T- shirts and keeping the games going and putting on a good show at night – Apart from Bingo – wow don’t get me wrong I don’t mind Bingo but playing Turkish style is very different – poor kids were bored senseless, my only moan was that they should have more music from 11-12 for everyone to have a dance, and then put the movie on from 12 onwards.
But to honest I did not go on holiday to moan, I thought this hotel was very good and Yes it had a few problems but if you go looking for problems and wasting you’re holiday complaining about this place – you are going to need another holiday when you get back.
I have nothing but praise for this Hotel, people going to this hotel in the next few weeks will love it – and people who have been may not agree with my opinion.
P.S.
Watch out for Dodgy Dodgy TONY the ringo man – thin as a latch and sells everything you want – boat trips – cigs – you name it he can get his hands on it, what a character – loved him – and see if he’s got silver and orange shorts on – never takes them off.
Anyway –anyone reading this will either agree or not agree – with my comments, but its what you make of you’re holiday that counts so go and have a Blast!!!!!!
Bon voyage

| said: We have just arrived back from club bellaverde 18/07/04 what a fantastic holiday we had. we arrived at 4.30 in the morning got our rooms straight away, where in reception you were offered drinks and snacks got our bags taken to the room where the man didn’t expect a tip but we gave him one.
The rooms was fine nothing wrong it was cleaned every day the bathrooms floor washed every day and carpets hovered, we had a balcony only small though but our only disappointment was a tree right out side so we didn’t have a sea view but worked a plus as it kept the room cool. On two occasions when we got back to the room our maid and done our towels for us, in shapes once of a heart with fresh flowers around it and another time two swans in a heart with little flowers which was lovely.
The welcome meeting we found to be to early we only got in our rooms at 5 ish then the meeting was at 10.30.
we were informed as to what was around for us to do where we booked a couple of trips the reps were friendly and pleasant didn’t really have much contact with them so no complaints and they were always around and about in the hotel.
Well the food was fantastic so much choice so many different flavours it was great being able to try different things there was such a mixture salads, meat, bbq, fish that was lunch and dinner. the snack bars was also excellent burger pizzas and some sort on pancake thing lovely. We had constant flow of drinks never once run out and were never limited to the amounts you have the wine was fine and beer tasted great to.
The entertainment wasn’t our cup of tea but i think they did try to do a variety if different things, the loud music during the day was a pain.
The staff in the hotel was excellent can't fault them always polite and friendly.
The steps are a killer up and down but there was a lift which did pong sometimes but hey we are in a different country!
the beach was fine the water was clean.
overall we really did enjoy it and would defiantly go back again excellent.
Tip's
Turkish bath & massage, worth doing £25
Trip to kos, waste of money. Nothing to do!!
Pub crawl with reps, good fun!! Bars are UK prices
Bodrum city tour, ok if you have it free (long day)
Taxi,to bodrum about £3.50 (hold on!! ruth ride)
Haggle with the shops offer them half, they like us English, visit market on Tuesday (knock off heaven)

| said: Just came back (12th of July) from 1 week at Club Bellaverde.
We arrived at about 4:30 am, got our rooms withing 15-20 min, we were offered tea/ coffe and cold dring in reception upon arrival.
Rooms were cleaned on the daily basis, but they never washed the floor, therefore you could not take your shoes off in the room at all.
We were right in the middle of the complex therefore we didn't have to use the lifts, and it was very close to everything. People who got their rooms in the main hotel building weren't that lucky as there are few steps and takes about 15-20 min to get to the very top.
Food was ok, not enough meat and nothing for the kids. They had a kids club, which took place 1 hour before the dinner where kids could get some chips and chiken and that's about it. During the main meal times there was nothing appropriate for kids. Every morning you have to go the the main pool area to leave your towels otherwise you won't get a place there. Hotel staff was ok, non of them spoke very good english.
Entertaiment was good, but too loud. For some reason they played very loud music and it was the same CD everyday. It was so loud that you could not hear yourself speak, you had to shout all the time. On the 3rd day of our stay i went a complained to DJ, after that he turned it down, and was enjoyable for the rest of the week. It's just no-one complained about it before. Entertainment staff was working very hard and for amatures were very good.
In my opinion this hotel represents very good value for money, and we really enjoyed our holiday.

| said: We stayed in Club Bellaverde in Bodrum/Gumbet. It was the best holiday ever!
The "theme" song that was played throughout the holiday was Athena - Palavra.
The staff were excellent, especially Serhan (he's got a Besiktas tattoo), Engin and Gokhan. They were very friendly and tried their hardest to please us. Is Hasan Emre still working there? He's 16 and a waiter, he got on very well with my 15 year daughter and her best mate. The girls enjoyed the water polo games that were on every day and miss Serhan, Engin and Gokhan very much.
We only ate breakfast in the hotel so I can't really comment on food. Tony on the beach was a nice guy and overall the hotel was great.
My only complaint would be that some of the male staff got a bit over-friendly with my daughter and her mate.

The drinks in all the bars except for the bar in the Restaurant were served in plastic disposable cups. However they were not disposed of after use and were reused. Due to the breezy conditions they would often be blown about the floor, around the pool area and then would be collected for reuse. The thorough cleansing of these cups was not being adhered to and it was not uncommon to be able to smell or taste vodka or other alcoholic drinks, whilst drinking juice or water from these cups.
Sometimes the cups contained sand and on one occasion even a stone, which if swallowed could have proved fatal due to choking. A Manager at the hotel told us that these cups would be rid of but by the end of the holiday they had reappeared. On one occasion we witnessed two workers from the hotel drinking from cups, which they filled with water from the dispenser. They then drank the water and then placed the cups back on the top of the pile. Without washing them for somebody else to drink from.
When cutting your own bread in the Restaurant, you had to hold onto a tea towel whilst cutting the bread. All the guests that cut their own bread handled this tea towel. Sometimes there wasn’t a tea towel provided and guests had to hold the bread with their bare hands. This meant that germs and bacteria could be transferred onto the bread for the other guests to eat. Disposable towels ought to be used to combat the spread of germs and bacteria.
The restaurant is partially outdoors, covered by canvas, and the food (particularly the salads and pastries) was often found to have flies on. No precautions were taken against this, such as electric insectucutors. There was also a bird’s nest in the restaurant, something that the manager of the hotel refused to have moved. This meant that birds could be seen walking across the baine marie, which also gives an indication that the food served out of this could not be hot.
There is an outlet on the beach, which needs to be crossed to get to the hotels main beach. This was full of rubbish including toilet paper. The public toilets were filthy and were of an extremely low standard, more of what you would expect in the street, not in a four star hotel. Both the members of the travel party were ill during the two-week holiday with sickness, stomach cramps and diahorreah. We had only eaten and drank in the hotel and it’s bars up to the point of becoming ill.
Food and drink standards
The food served in the hotel restaurant and bar was of poor quality. The menu was limited and was very monotonous. The same food was served almost daily and there was little variation between lunch and Dinner. The snack bar provided the same cheese sandwiches and burgers every day and there was no variation at all. It could take up to 10 minutes to have an egg fried as there was only one chef working at breakfast. The food in the Restaurant was not labelled. One of the party is vegetarian and it made it very difficult for him to select food that was suitable for him to eat. He often asked the Restaurant staff for advice, but it was often difficult to make him understood.
There was one beer pump on in the hotel at night, which was inadequate. The beer that was served in the snack bar was below standard and consisted of more froth than beer. Spirits seemed to been watered down by the bar staff. To drink Vodka with orange juice would mean paying 4 million Turkish Lira. Vodka should be able to be drunk with orange juice as provided in bars internationally. Vodka and orange does not consist of Vodka and Fanta. Incidentally bars in Bodrum served Vodka with Orange juice.
The electricity would also go off in the hotel, and drinks in dispensers were allowed to go warm. The same drink would then be cooled back down when the electricity came back on.
Hotel Room
The room that we were allocated, was not as advertised in the brochure. It was not spacious; wardrobe doors could not be opened as the bed obstructed them. The patio doors would not close properly and sometimes blew open in the wind. There were no tea and coffee making facilitie |
