| said: Hi there, just back from the plaza palmeras, enjoyed our stay, the location was ok, but if you have walking difficuties maybe not so suitable, as its at the top of a fairly steep hill, but we managed ok, and its nice and quiet at night so thats a good thing,We always ate out,the food from the restaurants we ate at were very good, for example you could get a half roast chicken with all the trimmings for 5.50 euro's or a steak to your liking for around 9,50 euro's and for drinks you could get a pint in my local called the blue bells bar for 1,50 euro's,The weather was good for most of our stay, but beware, you think its not that hot when the strong winds are there, but you will still get burnt,The appartments were cleaned daily and at an early time, the cleaners would wake you up to clean the rooms, as we were lazy and didnt get up till late, they would still insist in coming in and cleaning around 9,45am. Reception staff were always friendly and would help if you needed it, the entertainment I cannot comment on, as we always went down the town, but they had karaoke on and bingo and quizes most nights and sounded good,The pool and area were very clean, but the water in the pool, for me was very cold, but for some they may like it, there is a supermarket ajoined to the appartments which was handy for bits and pieces. There is no air con in the rooms and gets a bit hot at nights, but you can hire fans, from reception, as also you can hire toasters and lots more at a price.Although the rooms were ery basic we got what we paid for, and I would come back to the Plaza Palmeras Appartments.

| said: This hotel was lovely. we really enjoyed our stay and would return. Our was room was very clean and was cleaned 4 times while we were away.
We only ate at the hotel pool bar once for breakfast and this wasn't to our liking although it was clean and presentable. The entertainment could do with a bit of modernising and as two young people we didn't stay in the pool bar.
The location of the hotel is perfect as it is at the top of the hill so away from the noise of the main strip but it is als close to the Netto supermarket and only a 5 minuet walk for the main strip and beach.
The staff were very friendly and helpful, although the cleaners woke us up as they tend tlo walk into your appartment.

| said: Excellent apartments. The room had everything you needed except a toaster but this could be hired for 5 euros. Everywhere was clean with the room being cleaned nearly every day and towels and bedding changed once (which was enough). Pool area and gardens cleaned daily. Staff very friendly and helpful. Some reviews say the apartments are up a steep hill. There was a man in our apartments on crutches and he managed fine. The hill is not that steep. It took about 5 mins to walk to the beach and the main row of shops/restaurants/bars. We would definately go to these apartments again. Just a shame we had to come back!

We were very suprised how clean the are was and also how friendly the bar, reception and shop staff all were.
There was no entertainment in the hotel until after a few drinks I was playing the guitar that set behind the bar. All bar men were very friendly but not overpowering.
There is a steep incline up to the hotel and would not suit anybody with walking difficulties. As for the building work there was not to much noise and they are only making things better for disabled.

| said: Was pretty clean and the maids were through - apartments were larger than I expected but its good that the bedrooms are at the back meaning that any noise from the complex in the evenings doesn't bother you when you want to sleep.
We didn't stick around too much in the evenings as there were many other bars to go to but the hotel bar was friendly, and what we saw of the entertainment was of a reasonable standard. Location is up a steep hill but for the average able bodied adult (I'm a particularly unfit example!) this is no problem at all and it is pretty close to the resort centre - yuo can always stop at Spenders bar half way up if you are finding it a strain! This hotel definately exceeded my expectations and the reception staff were friendly, helpful and I think 24 hour - there was always someone there when I looked. They also have a luggage room for late departures.

| said: When we arrived ath this apartmnent we were more than pleasntly surprised at the location and the standard of cleanliness that were presented.
The accomodation is situated up a slight hill but it did not cause any problems for us when coming to and fro from the apartment. As the bars and restaurants are along a strip that goes along the sea front this road is situated in the heart of it so you are ideally situated.
The rooms are huge, we found them to be more than we anticipated. The bathroom is also very spacious too with what looked like a full size bath and not a typical spanish half bath.
The rooms were cleaned to a very high standard 5 days out 7 and linen changed twice a week, the maids were excellent. The only problem we found were that the beds were rock hard and caused some back pain but we were only there a week so it did not bother us.
The safe is within the room and you can rent it for 17€ per week. There is a tv in the room also that you have to pay for which is 40mins for 1€ it has a number of English channels such as Sky3, Sky News, Channel 4, Channel 5, BBC News, a Movie Channel, Kids Channel, and some others.
Each apartment has a pool view as it is a complex built aroud the pool with no more than 3 apartments high.
The reception staff are excellent, more than happy to help you out with anything. The accomodation has an Internet room too with €1 for 15mins. They have a luggage room for when you check out as rooms have to vacated at 10am, take a alarm clock for early morning departures as they have no wake up calls as rooms dont have telephones.
The pool is huge and has a kids pool too, beware its very very cold. We found it difficult to get a sunbed as they were all covered with towels by around 9-10am, which were then left for the majoirty of the day. The large pool is still quite deep in the shallow part of it measured 1.30m so beware if you dont like water such as myself.
The Reps at theis accomodation were excellent and are available most of the time as its a solely Sunset accomodation. The Pool bar serves good foos and drink and has a happy hour each day.
There are some entertainment both during the day and the night with a Reptile shows, bingo and kariaoke, Kylie, Al King, and some others.
The apartmnets have there own supermarket on the complex but 2mins down the road is a Netto which has everything you need, at a cheaper price.

The apartments were cleaned daily and were very near to the beach which was good. We lay about the clean pool on our first week and then went to the beach on the last few days of our second.
The hotel has a bar and restaurant. The staff are very friendly and the food is brilliant - pizzas are brill!
The one thing that I would like to comment on is that although we had to be out of our apmt by 10am and our flight was not till late there was shower rooms for us to freshen up later in the day. This was really good as it meant we could sunbathe for a while before leaving.

The pool area was very clean & well kept but was spine chillingly cold! After reading other reports we thought we may have to fight for a sunbed but there were plenty to go around.
Just one small gripe that there was no mirror in the apartments so we were all fighting to look in the bathroom one!

| said: First impressions of the hotel was excellent, the early evening sun highlighted the pool area nicely and as our room was on ground floor, so close to the pool we immediately felt in the holiday spirit.
Our room was generously furnished in good taste and was always kept clean and tidy throughout our visit.
Although self-catered (with a good size kitchenette) the food in the bar was very enjoyable, good value for money and with top quality service. Some staff were friendlier than others but everyone was helpful.
Overall a positive atmosphere.

The location was a bit further up the hill than we expected reading other reports. Bar staff very friendly the reception staff hardly ever spoke unless you spoke first but there English was second to none.
The only entertainment we seen was a reptile show one afternoon and that was all. As for visiting the apartments again i left it as a yes as would have to think about it for the reason of how far up the hill it was.

| said: Only got back Sunday 13th Nov 2006. Firstly we booked bed and breakfast only t be told less than 24 hours of departure that it was self catering only.
However, this was fine as eating out was very cheap. The restaurant at hotel was OK, good value for money but you had to wait a while as they were a little understaffed. The complex itself is basic but quite pretty.
The pool is huge but very cold at this time of year. There are ample sun loungers for everyone. The rooms are basic all painted white and green.
However, because we were on the upper floor, our door was weather beaten and had quite a few holes in it. The decor is terribly basic but comfortable. Plenty of wardrobe space and drawers.
If the whole complex had a face lift, new doors, repainted etc I think it would be great. I think its a good base, but would like to try somewhere else.

I went with my boyfriend, 3 kids aged 13,4 and 2 and my parents and all off us had a brill time. The rooms were cleaned on a regular basis and beds and towels changed 2.
The meals were quite good and you got genourous portions,we ordered a kids meal of fish fingers and chips and got 7 fish fingers.
The entertainment wasn't 2 bad but after 2 lots of happy hour it was even better, not forgetting Mr Massage who visited the pool area everyday, and yes there was quite a few people who had massages.
The location is good the hill isin't 2 bad but it only costs 2euros for a taxi back anyway.
The hotel staff were very friendly also the rep. I would definitely go back again.

| said: I stayed in these apartments in August of this year and i must say after reading some of the reviews about them i was very surprised to find them very nice indeed.
I must agree with most of the other posts though about the sunbed situation that it was silly us having to get up at 8am to get a sunbed to lie round the pool, when ppl were getting them for all and sundry and not even using them.
The beach is lovely in pdc and i would highly recommend it, theres not much for kids to do of a night time that was the only draw back when you've got an 11 and 8 yr old with you, but they eventually occupied themselves.
Eating out was really good too we never had a bad meal at any of the restraunts we went to i suggest you try the American Diner thats on the front it was really nice and quite reasonable too.
The excursions i found to be quite expensive and a word of warning if your going to the aqua park you have to pay for the sunbeds when your in there and also you get told what time youve gotta come out of the park to get your bus.
But on the whole the place was buzzing and theres something for everyone so if you do decide to go to these apartments have a lovely time because me and my family did and would deffo go back there.

The only small downside was the hill leading up to the hotel which was only bad when coming back from the beach, in the blazing sun. the rooms were cleaned very well 5 times a week. There was a supermarket within the hotel as well.
The only bad downside was because the sun beds were locked up for the poolside to be cleaned they unchained them about nine in the morning which is fine, but you had the pathetic people that would queue by the loungers from quarter to eight onwards to get beds, then there were some that would put their towels on them and go elsewhere returning back about mid-afternoon, which left some people sunbathing on the floor.
However, I suppose you get these sort of people any where you go.

Pool and pool area brilliant and I have never seen in 23 years so many people to clean the pool, just a bit sad they chained the beds up as I had to get up at 08.30 to get a bed no lie in, some people thought it was funny to throw all beds in pool on day of departure. Thanks for that!!!
Rep brill didn’t hound us to book any trips or car hire. But English bar man cheer up mate, you could be sitting at a desk like the rest of us back in the UK. Over all dead good location ok if you have car bit of a hill to get back up.
Had one of the best holidays yet so it can’t be that bad

I have never seen anything like it before. Plus the staff made everyone wait until they took off the chains. People would wait for an hour some mornings how ridiculous.
Never mind I suggest you go to the beach instead there is always spare by lunch time.

The staff in the pool bar are out of this world Alan, Moussa, Ali and Christina they made our holiday this year. My daughter was really upset to leave Christina and Ali on our last day she cried all the way to the airport.
I am trying to book to go back at Christmas and will deffo be going back next yr with the kids. The pool is cleaned thoroughly daily and all the paths are swept by Dalious ( the young guy whom my teenage daughter to a liking to) everything is spotless.
The food in the pool bar is nice (check out the salad) once its basic but who wants a slap up meal during the day when it's 35 degrees anyway. Definitely going back next year and this yr if I win the lottery!

Excellent position (except the hill some days!!!) apartments exceptionally clean, maid service 6 out of 7 days.
Staff always willing to help--and that was nothing to do with the rep--she was rubbish!
Ate the food at the pool bar--was great--no tummy troubles afterwards!!!! i would highly recommend these apartments to anyone, even though they are on a hill there are a few bars that you can "drop inn" at on the way down to the main strip. all in all, excellent value for money!!!!
Planning on going back in September and would have no hesitation about booking these apartments again.

Staff were very friendly, bar manager Alan from England was a great help and a good laugh (being thrown in the pool on a regular basis by guests)
Have to agree with Jane (last post) the pool was freezing, but once you were in it was fine. The weather was great but on the days when it got really hot there was not much shade as the umbrellas were limited.
Rooms were basic but very clean and the maid service was adequate.
Hotel was situated up a slight hill, which was fine during the days however after a few two many shandy's it became a bit of an uphill struggle!!
Would definately return and would recommend to anyone thinking of visiting.

| said: Cleanliness of hotel area excellant, every morning there were at least 6 men cleaning the pool area as well as all the grounds. The food was good, nice variety and takeaway was available.
It is situated at the top of a slight hill, but nothing too steep.Very handy for the main street and has a few bars and supermarkets on way down. The "drop inn" irish bar on way down has nice food. The staff were excellant, nothing was too much trouble, you only get two rings and a fridge in the apartments but can hire toasters, microwaves and even a washing machine! One tip about the pool,it is freezing but if you sit in the baby pool first the big pool will be like a bath!!!
Entertainment every night plus all u can eat b/b/que twice a week for 8 euros. One annoying thing was that people would put towels on sunbeds in morning and tere are only a few umbrellas, even if they were out on a trip till p.m so the beds were "spoken" for but not used till then.

| said: Could not fault the cleanliness although I agree with earlier reviews that the place could do with a lick of paint.
The food at the pool bar was really good for what it cost I would say it was excellent value for money. Nothing too fancy just good food. Disagree with some who think it was no good, it all depends on personal taste.
Location was pretty central not to far away from resort main strip. Although some pavements quite narrow on the way down that made it quite difficult with a buggie.
Staff were more that friendly, Alan, Moussa, Ally, got to know them all really well great bunch of people what deserve a more than ten out of ten rating. The entertainment was on every night apart from a Thursday, which is obviously a major change over day. My only comment would be that there could be more kids entertainment, like a kids disco or something similar.
Myself and family would definitely revisit this complex which I forgot to add is also very secure.

Would use them again for a weeks winter break.

| said: The apartments are a little tired, but then it is only a 2* complex.
The breakfast was fine, we did eat out in the evening as the menu was limited - but seemed ok.
The pool area was very clean even if we could not swim as the water was icy cold(oh well at least the sun was hot)
Staff were all fine and helped as much as possible.
Entertainment was provided every night, ok it was not the best but at least they tried to entertain guests.
Very close to beach and resort centre, but it is up a hill - but the hill is not very steep..
My main concern was the beds, which were not the best, but then that seems to be the case with most package holiday resorts. Good complex for a week in the winter..

| said: Not good...Pool bar was really poor. Happy hour is a con only the local beer is on offer.
The floor when wet from the pool is like an ice rink and the food is like something out of the dark ages. Really poorly run.
Pool bar failed this resort by a mile!! stupid music, pin ball machine going all the time, music blasting all night and the live acts can be seen once a year on the x factor rejects show and I mean...rejects!
Apts cleanish, but not up to the Scottish level of clean! Very small and very much a con too. You have to hire a toaster!! Imagine.. a toaster, and the TV costs circa a quid an hour!
British staff at the hotel really need to give themselves a shake they really do but the locals were bril, honest and sincere willing to help.
Grounds staff always cleaning outside the apts. all in all a good holiday totally and utterly spoilt by the would be landlords of the pool bar who con and lie there way to the till.
Can't wait till I have to pour them a pint in my local in Edinburgh!!!!

| said: The Plaza Palmeras is the worst apartments ever, the floors were always slippery and the staff were ignorant and unhelpful especially the pool.
Bar staff, the reps were also unhelpful, told us we couldn't have a refund on our day trip because the payment had already gone through even though my credit card company had already told us it hadn't (we couldn't go on it because our baby was ill.)
There was massive urine stains on our mattress and the top had come off the coffee table leaving nails exposed, (even though this is a family resort!)
The pool is also freezing and I would not recommend these apartments to anybody, when the return plane took off everybody cheered!
Not one person who I spoke to was happy with these apartments, keep well clear!

The food was inedible, we are not fussy eaters but can only describe the food as awful and the restuarant/pool bar can only be described as a road side cafe. No set table area, children running amok and very noisy with pin ball machines.
The hotel/apartments is situated on a steep hill so very tiring if you are not that agile.
Loved the island of Lanzarote but the hotel spoilt it for us. Would never recommend this to anyone and would feel so sorry for anyone booked in it. Most of the guests there were unhappy and complained.

Changed room without any problem.
Basic but clean apartment, supermakets very near apts.
The pool was very clean and spacious, enough loungers but still some creatures of habit up very early to get the lounger in there little space??
5 mins downhill to beach and bars, not too steep, no problem parking our hire car outside.
There wasnt much entertainment, theres 2 happy hours BOGOF, local spirits on shorts, very cheap weak taste.
Staff friendly and helpful when needed, hard working around the pool.
Great holiday all round, I would stay there again!

| said: We came to Lanzarote for 2 weeks as a our first holiday away without our parents and its been the best 2 weeks of our lives.
I have to mention the hotel rep first. Louise was the best rep in the world she was great from day one she made us feel so relaxed and got on with us really well.
Sorted all the problems out and even met us out for a drink and tried to get one of my friends to meet up with her mate.
Moving on to the room, it was basic but easy to stay in we hired a toasted which only cost us €12 for the 2 weeks which was a bargain bed very comfortable and room clean.
Hotel was down a hill to bars and restaraunts you get pulled in to paradise first very friendly PR called Stan and the bar lads were all friendly to (sean and toby) central atlantico was further along and then moving on to tropical best bar on island.
Over all best holiday in the world even though weather was rubbish lol we had a mini hurricane and everything was orange but it cleaned up very quickly.

| said: The location is perfect for pubbers/clubbers - A 4 or 5 min walk downhill takes you to the front where the main clubbing square is. There are also plenty of restaurants etc. Turning left at the sea the shops/bars/amusement arcades etc run out after a few hundred yards. Turning right lasts all the way to the old town - approx 30 min stroll. The walk back up the hill later isn't bad either.
We were self catering so didn't have any food in the complex except on our last day when we ate lunch at the pool bar for convenience. Typical quick food. To be honest much better fair was available a short walk downhill to the front.
There is fairly large pool area which was well cleaned every day. We had a kind of hurricane during our stay which left sand over everything including in the pool. By lunch time the complete area was spotless again. Maid service was 5 days from our 7 and again we had no complaints.
It's a 2 star accommodation and I would say it merits maybe a 2 star plus. It's a bit old with the odd cracked tile etc here and there but overall it served all our holiday needs.
We didn'y try out the entertainment but the poolside bar area was fairly large and had 2 happy hours daily. In a busier season I would think it would be pretty bustly.
They seem to have a thing going where they would rent out their granny if they could - everything from hair driers to toasters to laundry tokens to sunlounger mattresses. I think we hit it lucky - we had a free kettle.
There was a fair bit of noise travelling from our upstairs. Not that our neighbours were noisy, rather that I think the apartment construction must have missed out the sound insulation.
If we were to holiday in Lanzarote again we would have no qualms staying at Plaza Palmeras.
I hope this was informative for you and that if you do stay here you enjoy your holiday.

The staff worked hard to keep everything clean, although the maid service was hit and miss. The supplied crockery in the room was not clean and glasses and plates were chipped.
The reception staff seemed reserved and I was always left with the opinion that they were doing me a favour.
The pool area is very good and is very clean.
The restaurant and bar area could do with new furniture. The bar staff are very friendly and enthusiastic if not a little amateurish.
Despite this somewhat negative review we had a pleasant week but am not convinced it represented value for money.
The resort rep, was very nice and helpful and constantly available, they only problem was the information she gave us was wrong on the three occasions that we enquired.

The staff are so friendly and matty the rep is fantastic. The pool was cleaned every day and the surrounding area was cleaned aswell.
The rooms are basic but very clean, the maids are in every day to clean or change towels and linen. The entertainment was good aswell, having 3 children you need something to keep them happy.
The apartments are up a hill but not too steep,we had to push 2 puschairs up so it kept us fit!! If you turn right out of the apartment and walk down the bank you will see Nettos on the left hand side of the road, this is ideal for all your shopping needs, and very reasonably priced.
We loved this apartment so much we are looking to go back again next year.

Although the hotel was very basic, the rooms required a refurb, the baths were ok as long as you are no bigger than 4ft. You have to pay for the TV (40mins for 1 euro, which was more like 30mins.)
Limited entertainment.
The staff, pool (a bit cold, even though the weather was great,) cleanliness and location were superb.
One last comment there is better accommadation available for the same price

Also I calculated that if I`d have been there with any children and they wanted to watch t.v for an average of four hours a day it would have cost £38 per week.

Apartments are a bit 'old' although fairly clean, they could have done with a lick of paint and some new bed covers/blankets etc.
No oven only a 2 ring hob and if you wanted a toaster you had to hire one.
Also had to hire various other things that are usually included i.e./ hairdryer etc.
Bar staff were ok, although at times a little over amorous with the ladies! All in the entire complex was fine, ideal for a short break away from the Scottish winter weather!

| said: Having visited the Plaza Palmeras apartments for the first time last year with friends, we decided to return for another 2 week holiday.
As we found first time round, the apartments were basic but clean and suited our needs down to the ground.
The cleaners were friendly and always around to clean our room. They even provided extra blankets when it was a bit chilly at night!
Travelling in November meant that as it was off-season, it was a little quieter but busy enough for us girls to have a great time. Due to this we never had any problems getting sun-loungers.
The apartments are on a hill but this never bothered us too much - only when our feet were killing us at the end of the night!
The apartments are far enough away from the main drag but close enough to walk it down to the bars, pub, clubs and restaurants - very important!
I would definitely recommend the Plaza Palmeras - in fact, we are hoping to book up again for next year
No problems with the cockroaches but that might be due to the fact that we travelled out in November. Did have a locust on our balcony though...but left before the invasion!

The poolside had a snack bar with a wide variety to choose from. The only snag was the fact you had to hire a toaster and kettle. This was not a problem to us at all.
Everything we needed was at hand and the beach was just a short walk away.I would go back any time, the staff were very friendly indeed and the entertainment was fine.
Not brilliant for the children, although our children are entertained with the pool and a snooker table. Try these apartments you won't be disappointed at all.

The pool is nice and big with large paddling pool for the children and both are kept clean. Theres also a pool bar too, which has several happy hours during the day and night. We didnt use the entertainment on site but appeared to attract alot of families. Apartments are quite spacious and quite alot of storage for clothes etc. Safe can be hired for about 15 euros a week, kettles and toasters are about 5 euros. We had 2 problems when staying here, firstly we were too loud for some other guests in the morning (who wants to stay in bed late in lanzarote?) so i wouldnt reccommend this place for groups of yound people.... second problem was as our group had split one day we needed a spare key to get back in... these have to be signed in and out by the staff and as we were leaving we almost got charged for the extra key as recetio staff had forgotten to sign it back in. all in all though we had a great time, and cant wait to go back in 6 months

Staff spoke little english and when we had a problem they weren't interested and just said there was nothing they could do.
The maids where suppost to come 5 times a week but throught the whole stay they cleaned the room once. The room was clean when we arrived but there was a lack of facilities for cooking and cleaning and also cooking equipment was a bit tatty, we also ended up buying our own toilet paper.
Night time security was abit lack as several times there was distubances within the area.

Very basic apartments which were clean but without a doubt in need of refurbishment. We were self catering and again apart from basics you had to hire everything. Kettle, toaster, microwave, sunbeds and tv (1 euro got approx 30 mins of television)the ants and cockroaches came for free and there were plenty of them. The hotel reception staff do give out cans of Raid for free. The apartments are at the top of a hill which is a bit of a trek if you are elderly my parents usually got a taxi when returning to the apts. approx. 2 euros which was very reasonable. The staff were always very friendly and helpful. The rep was always around if there were any problems. Some entertainment at night usually consisting of karaoke or a singer which after a few drinks always sounded good.

The pool and terrace area were great. Bar and reception staff were extremely helpful and so was our Thomas Cook rep. Meals in the bar were excellent and cheap. we had breakfast most days which was lovely. We only saw one cockroach in the complex all week, though we saw a few in the town. The Appartments were at the top of a hill which was not steep at all, and there were plenty of shops for essential supplies nearby. Its handy for the nightlife but not too near so you can get a peaceful nights sleep if you want. My opinion is that these appartments are more suited to families with young chlidren or couples than large single sex groups.

| said: We had a great holiday which is why we are returning this year! however we only use our apartments as a base- we dont really spend much time around the pool.
Hotel was clean however we did have ants which we were given a spray to kill them with.
Good location but on a slight hill which seems to get steeper as the week goes on but i suppose it is a way of working off all those extra holiday calories!
The meals which we had in the restaurant were good.
Hotel staff were okay
