just returned from the blue bay escape.
hotel was clean, rooms were okay.
the food in the hotel was very poor food cold, the best was the soup which was hot.the lunchtime food was at the poolside bar which was like a cattle market, cold food and wasps everywhere
the main bar did not open until 6pm, only one member of staff serving all night, plastic glasses after 11pm,seating area in main bar infested with mossies at night, the floor looked like a war zone.
we will not be returning to this hotel.

Hotel was clean, rooms big cleaned daily. All staff very good helpfull. Andy Danny and Martin were excellent, keeping all guests amused even when it rained. Food was very good plentyful, but not always hot, depending on when you went in for your meals. There was a curtesy room for your last day if you travelled late, which was excellent and free. There was also a curtesy bus to take you into Acharavi or Kassiopi 6 times a day. The driver dropped you off and picked you up 2 hours later. Weather wasnt too good when we were there ( rain, thunder, and wind )but very hot in between. All in all excellent holiday and would go back again.

Just got back yesterday from a fabulous holiday at Blue Bay Escape - quite honestly there is nothing bad I can say about it. The hotel is spotlessly clean, rooms are spacious and airy, beds are comfortable with nice soft pillows. The pool is lovely (although it is salt water) the kids were never out of it all the same. Even though we went peak time we could always get a sunbed. The staff were very friendly and helpful. On arrival your cases are taken and delivered straight to your room. There is a great kids club and the entertainment staff are brill. The food was plentiful and of a very high standard, I particulary like the fact that lunch was served by the pool bar, so you could just get up enjoy a nice lunch in the shade and back to some sunbathing after. I would definitely recommend this hotel to all my family and friends. We had a seaview and the view on the walk down to the pool is breathtaking with the Albanian mountains across the sea.

Well were do i start ?

It was excellent.

All the staff in the hotel were amazing.

The entertainment was even better always made our stay an enjoyable one and an extremely humurous one.

The hotel itself was so clean, one of the cleanest hotels i have ever stayed at.

Although the hotel was in the middle of no-where it was still a good hotel as kassioppi was only 10 mins down the road and you can catch the local bus from the hotel entrance to kassioppi and the bus was free. Which was a result.

The wasps and mozzies werent bad at all in fact i only got a couple of bites and i stayed for 1 week. The rep said on the bus to the hotel from the airport that there is mozzies, but i didnt actually see any at all.

Altough the pool was cold, it was refreshing as it is so hot you need a cool down. The best thing about the pool is that they have a wonderful waterfall in the pool.

The actiivties were the same but they were funny to watch, the entertainers made it so hilarious. At the end of the pool games they done a dance and the winning team got a bottle of bubbly.

If i got to choose wether to go back to blue bay resort or go somewhere else. without a doubt i would choose blue bay escape. Its fantastic.

I 100% recommend this hotel to all my family and friends.

We had a lovely week at the blue bay resort. The complex was very clean and the food and drink was lovely. Spectacular views of the albanian mountains and the little sandy beaches outside the hotel.the hotel staff and the entertainment team were lovely and all worked really hard. Lots to to in the day, bingobongo on a night and a show. We didn't want to leave and would certainly go back.

On arrival our luggage is unloaded from the coach by hotel staff while we registered and delivered to our room (nice touch),rooms were clean and tidy and were kept that way throughout our stay. Maintainance staff came straight away for small faults found. The gardens and outside grounds around the complex were kept clean and tidy throughout the day. The choice of food was varied and with a good variety although hot dishes not always hot and cold dishes (ice cream) not cold in the restaurant, the staff worked hard all around the complex and were pleasant whilst coping with the heat (we were on holiday they were not)the entertainment was there day and evening if you wanted it if you didn't want to join in no one forced you to, we would certainly consider going there again.

We have just got back from Blue Bay Escape Resort, none of us wanted to leave. After reading reports on this and other sites we were worried. When we arrived we were pleasantly surprised very clean and very polite staff. We got in the pool straight away and there were pool games etc going on you werent pressured into entering them. We took 9 mossie repellants (Boots silver Deet and yellow kids stuff) I used silver pump spray and didnt get bitten till last night when orange fanta was spilt on my foot and I didnt respray straight away, my daughter didnt get bitten at all and the others only got bitten when they forgot to spray themselves. Pump spray definately works best. The food was good, little variety in kids stuff but our kids ate from adult bit if there was nothing they fancied. It was on a remote bit of the island but that suited us fine we had no intention of spending loads of extra money. The entertainment was very basic but if we wanted all singing and dancing we would have visited Haven or Butlins. The entertainers were all very lovely especially Andy, Danny and Evos. 1 of the comedy shows was unbearable as it invloved whistles be blown and it went on 4 about 20 mins comedy night is Tuesday. This was a perfect holiday for us, quiet and just enough to keep us busy. My daughter went to 1st choice kids club and loved it, thanks to Becky, Alice, Hayley, Lena and Serina. She also went to Mini club run by the resort she loved that 2 thanks to oksana. We will be returning

We have just returned from the Blue Bay Escape, St Spyridon, Corfu, (June 20th-28th, 2008) and I can only say what a great holiday we had. The Hotel is clean & spacious. The food is good and plentiful. The pool is quite big and overlooks the sea with great views across the Med of the Albanian coast. If I was to be picky the only negatives I could come up with is the mosquito’s at night (there are lots so you will get bitten) and the cats (there is a small group of our furry friends living on the resort, but seem to cause no problems) The staff are friendly enough with plenty of silly games through out the day (darts, water gym, water polo, volley ball, football) There are only a couple of local bars within walking distance, so the area is fairly quiet but the hotel has basic (and I mean basic) entertainment in the hotel nightly, but hey it was not too bad.

The hotel was fairly clean, except for the stray cats that were all around the seating area where the bar snacks were served.

The food was standard, nothing special but it filled a hole.

Location is in middle of nowhere, only two buses a day into the main towns is a joke with the minimal activities in the day.

Entertainment staff were friendly enough, but the barmen and people serving bar snack need lessons in customer service. they acted like they were doing you a favour by serving you for the drinks and food you had already paid for!!

Entertainment was fun but finished at 10pm and the local bar that was 10 times more welcoming than the hotel stayed open till 1am. but the hotel doors were locked at 12am so it was go home at 12am or enjoy the pitch black walk around the grounds of the hotel.

We were all inclusive on this holiday and i must say it was the perfect option for us, with the kids dropping ice-cream and drinks all the time. We had a 2 year old and 8week old and our friends child was 5. On arrival the hotel was lovely very clean and modern and it was the same when we got to our room, although very basic yes as most people say but everyroom is when you go abroad. We had a sink kettle and a few cuboards in our room although it did state there was a hob but there wasnt, not that i was bothered as you dont pay for all inclusive to eat in your room!!
The hotels lacation was brilliant for us as we have young children. This being our first holiday since our kids were born i was very nervous especially for my 2 year old, but as it was the hotel was quite remote. You came of the main road down a few little roads and up a big drive to the hotel which was great to know there werent cars flying past constantly. Also i say it was quite remote but there were free buses running every day to cassiopi and akaravi (only 10mins away one ether side of the resort) where there are lots of shops and restaurants with a gorgeous harbour in cassiopi, absolutely stunning.
The food was great a different theme every night. Ok some of the hotel staff were miserable but majority were great, plus i dont think i would smile all that much in that heat either. Also i dont go on holiday for the staff!
We didnt really use the entertainment only at night which was good for the kids, i must say the adults entertainment was a bit boring which they could do something about, but yet again it didnt really bother me as the holiday is what you make of it.
I would deffinately go back and back and back to this hotel it was brill. Plus alot of people complain about the mozzies and wasps but you get them everywhere dont you! Although i would say about the cats, thats one thing that did annoy me but they were no harm just around your feet all the time. But alot of people were feeding them so there bound to come back, and it wasnt all the time just at dinner because it was down by the pool.

After a two hour flight delay we arrived at the hotel at 4am and were directed to our room which was quite a walk from the main hotel but did have a lovely pool view.

The room was very basic but clean and the air conditioning made the room very cold but if you turned it off the room was stifling in a matter of minutes.

The hotel was two hours transfer from airport and went around twisty winding roads and made loads of stops.

When we woke up the view from the balcony was amazing , the albanian mountains in the distance and a lovely big pool which was unheated and was to cold to be comfortable in even on very hot days.

Most of the staff were very miserable and most didnt even smile although there were exceptions but not many.

The wasps were terrible and as lunch is served at the poolside bar we had to do without lunch as the wasps swarmed around your food..

we have just returned from our family holiday in blue bay.we enjoyed it except afew things.
the hotel was clean and the rooms were very clean but very basic.it wasnt very nice as when you went to the toilet you had to put your toilet paper in a bin next to you.if you did put it down the toilet it all came back up again.
the food was very good except the breakfast.
the locaion was ok except there wasnt anywhere to walk to at night only about 2 or 3 shops.
the staff were very good and there if you needed them.
the entertainment was quite poor in the evening but during the day it was excellent as there was lots to do.
we enjoyed it but wouldn't go back again.

Just returned from our second visit to Blue Bay and have to say going back was the best decision have ever made holiday wise. Obviously helped knowing exactly what to expect – not needing to attend reps meetings, sign-up for anything etc – it felt very relaxing within hours instead of days of arriving.

The location/views together with the spotless cleanliness of Blue Bay still impressed to the last day – they are truly amazing, and only this week the actual beach outside Blue Bay featured on a BBC2 travel/cookery programme, which illustrated just how special the place is.

Food was good if a little repetitive. Apartments and their cleanliness, excellent. Mozzies were not a major problem for most ( 4 bites personally compared to dozens last year), Wasps – no more than in an English summer ( if you can remember one!).

Only downsides – the evening entertainment (daytime being much improved from previous visit), which, after the obligatory mini disco, was still overall desperate with exception of the Greek dancers on one evening. Also, one or two of the senior management particularly a younger member who I am sure many visitors would identify with, could benefit from lessons in etiquette when dealing with guests (particularly the children), and remember we after all, are the ones from whom they are earning their living. Could also have done without the same seemingly power crazed couple embarrassingly falling over themselves to please their odd “special guests.”
That said, the real workers – gardeners/cleaners/restaurant staff/on-site shop staff, were great – as were the kids club reps.

Now the personal stuff! I had the privilege of playing footy with and subsequently befriending some great people ( and their families) – too many to name all – but Dave ( Pompey), Bill ( Hammers), Steff ( Rangers), Liam, Paul, Taff – if ever you read this , thanks for the memories lads – great days, and you’ll be relieved to know my toe is on the mend!

Also big shout for Maurice, without whom many of our holidays would have been poorer – the fact that he stayed with us late into our final night despite leaving for another post, said it all – his “ wotya dooin?” is on some of our ringtones as a tribute. The place will be much the poorer without him, as he was a class above when compared to the other entertainment personnel.

In summary, two weeks with great company in a well run resort located in a stunningly beautiful location – would recommend second visit for anyone.

Stayed in St Spyrigon at the Blue Bay Escape which was an experience to remember. The Hotel is in the middle of know where but can get the bus into Kassiopi where it has alot more pubs and restaurants to visit. We did know this before we travelled so not disappointed on that note.

The Hotel is on a beach, the one to the right was full of sea weed but the left one was great. The kids did enjoy it.

The Hotel enterntainment not talking about the First Choice was, to be kind not very good. The two girls could of at least smiled. Beware of the key of the door and the bingo. Won't say any more but I am sure you should work that one out for yourselves.

During the day they did keep you entertained.

Kids Club a bit disappointed that no WaveLength for the older kids but the younger ones cetainly were kept amused. Thanks to all the Kids Reps.

The food was very disappointing, not much if you are a vegetarian. Beware of the hot plates, if the children go up for own food.

Hotel was clean but would not say it was a 4 star, more 3.

The family who mentioned about the staff serving the food down by the pool, they were right, no smiles.

Lots and lots of cats, kittens and dog.

Did a few trips Beach BBQ and AcquaLand, both very good and the kids did enjoy.

Considering all the reviews have been about the hotel entertainment not being very good, it certainly hasn't changed. Don't let that put you off though as all in all we did enjoy it. Make of it what you want. We did visit a few bars down on the beach, I would recommend that you go to them just to break the time up.

We read all about the hotel before we went and thought Oh My God, but it wasn't that bad. Enjoy your holiday and just remember it only lasts for 1/2 weeks. Enjoyyyyyyyy.

I took my neice to this hotel for her first holiday abroad. I decided to chose all inclusive so that every need was catered for and we did not have to leave the resort. I have been on many all inclusives in the caribbean and thought this would be similar.

We arrived at the hotel about 4am local time and found our way to our rooms which I must say were spacious if a little warm!!The journey from the airport to the hotel was rather longwinded as we had to wait an hour for our coaches to arrive. We then had a 45 minute wait while passangers were being located and a two hour transfer with several drops offs.

When we reached our room all we wanted was a drink of water - not too much to expect in an all inclusive holiday you would think. We went to our kitchinette (advertised as having mini oven and two cooking rings - but not there)into the fridge but nothing, no liquid at all in the room. Unable to find an open bar to obtain a drink we went to bed- thirsty.

We got up the next morning and went to reception as there was no sign of a rep that early. I was then told that we could drink the water from the taps. After having a conversation with the reception and telling them the previous night we were advised not to drink or even clean teeth with the water I was a little annoyed - we had booked, supposedly all inclusive and yet we were unable to get a basic drink of water! (on the possitive side the small shop does sell water and it is very cheap - but not the point)

The complex itself is lovely in pretty surroundings. The pool is lovely and it is only a short walk to the beach. The hotel generally looked very clean and they were constantly gardening to keep the complex looking nice. The rooms unfortunately were not looked after so well. On the second day my 12 year old neice trod on a piece of glass in the bedroom. I went to reception and the cleaner came but on two further ocassions we picked up glass in our feet or shoes!

The food at the hotel is very basic with chips for kids at every meal. They have not really grasped the idea of variety normally associated with all inclusive and nearly every dish contained peppers - fine unless you are allergic as we both are. There is not enough selection within the restaurant to cater for the clientel. It is also a shame that there is no choice of where to eat. Breakfast and dinner are served in the main restaurant and lunch is by the pool. The same can be said of the pool. With the exception of early evening there is only one bar to choose from.

The restaurant and bar staff all seem to work pretty hard and please and thankyou goes a long way. The entertainment team are there if you want to get involved but leave you alone if you don't want to. The evening entertainment is typical of european holidays nothing overly special but they do put effort in.

There are a number of cats at the hotel and many new born kittens which helped keep my neice amused.

In future I would probably go self catering as I think there is a lot more choice to be had from eating at the local restaurants or evening venturing into the nearby towns.

The apartments were spotlessly clean every day. The hotel food had a wide variety of foods from chinese to greek. Some foods tasted bland mainly being the desserts. However they do yummy kebabs nearby the pool area including pizzas. Which my boyfriend and I seemed to live off instead of the lunch time buffets. The hotel location was quiet but wasn't far from things. Shops nearby, bar/nightclub, small town, beaches etc. Never had to travel just walked around. A lovely town nearby we visited; forgetting the name, it had souvenir shops, cafes, restaurants and near to the sea again!
The hotel staff don't keep you waiting, very friendly. The entertainment is entertaining! Different each night, day time fun in the pool e.g. Water polo which was great fun! Holiday reps get everyone involved. It's like one big family out there! Re-visiting this hotel soon! Can't wait.

as a family of six with four children the all inclusive package was by far the best choice we have made regarding a family holiday. it was the first time we had been to corfu as a family, and the hotel and location was everything we needed. the hotel was cleaned every day and night. The food was repetitive but theres only so much you can do with fish, chicken and meat, but all in all the food was good. The location was remote but the free hotel bus service made it easy to visit surrounding villages. All the staff including the cleaners were very friendly especially the children's entertainers. Theres a mini disco early evening for the kids and with all our kids being under 10 they all found it very enjoyable even our 18 month old boy. there was family entertainment at 10 o'clock but with having a baby we didn't get to see any,but we heard it was very good. All in all excellent family holiday and would visit again but we would take more mosquito spray as there are millions of the little devils.

The hotel is stunning and is well kept inside and out. If you have visited Greece or Corfu before then please take notice of the mosquito situation here. They are horrendous! Even bite through clothing. Take the best protection you can with you as the on-site sprays, candles etc do not work. You are next to a large lake where they breed and come out nightly to feed. Beware hanging your clothes / towels over the bottom balconies to dry as the sprinklers come on and you will need a spin dryer to wring them out.

Make sure you buy water on the plane to last you till the next day if you are flying with first choice. We arrived at 02.45am, had our welcome meeting the next morning at 10am and this is the first time I have not been offered refreshment at the meeting. Wasn't even looking for an ouzo. A glass of water would have been sufficient after the long journey but there was no mention we were told not to drink the water during the transfer, but there was none left in the room either. After standing at the bar for 20 minutes where the meeting was held I was informed by the rep that it did not open till 18.30pm. However survived the hour long sales pitch from the reps on their rip off excursions and made my way to the on-site supermarket to buy some water.

The place is so nice that an extremely large group of stray cats seem to have established residence within the resort. Cats don’t bother me but my wife was not best pleased, nor was the English couple we met who said the cats were up on their table at the pool bar stealing their kid’s food. They are always at your feet when you are eating and there are loads of them. Staff were not fazed by this.

The food was acceptable and was ok for a week however I think if you were staying for two weeks it would have become a bit tedious. During the day at the pool bar you could get halved hamburgers on a small roll, small hot dogs on a large roll, usually burned pizza's, toasties and the occasional frozen kebab.
At midday there was a larger snack bar that opened beside the pool serving starters (most were ok) a fish dish, buttered pasta (every day) a sauce, chips and some kind of stew. (Pork, beef etc) I was looking forward to trying local dishes rather than stews but never mind as I have said they were edible and unless you are fussy you should enjoy them. (For a week) At night there was the main restaurant. The food was beautifully presented (the odd carrot and parsnip flower) but as during the day consisted of the same things, fish, pasta, sauce, chips, and stew. If you are looking for local cuisine this is not the place for you. Oh and guys beware long trousers are required in the 40 odd degree heat. I was told that below the knee shorts were acceptable and managed this on the Monday but was refused on the Tuesday. So it was Jeans from then on. (Thank god due to the mozzies.)

If you can manage to get a smile from one of the bar staff at the resort then please report this. I would love to hear of it. You would have thought it was their own drinks they were giving away. Which brings me to the drink. Drink as much as you like. There are signs telling you to order 4 drinks per person per round. We were there with two young kids, one an infant so were not bothered about getting drunk. We did have a few drinks though and experimented one night to see if you could get drunk on what they were serving, but sorry guys if this is what you look for on holiday then you will have to buy your own at the shop. The bar also shuts at 1am. Unusual for Greece.

There was a gym that we did not go to see. Not the kind of thing you go on holiday for is it? Pool looks great if you manage to get a bed (do the old German thing as most did and get your towel down before you go to bed), looks great, but if you do buy a snorkel then do yourself a favour and don’t use it in the pool as it doesn’t look as nice under the water!! There is a TV in your room, which is ok if you can speak Greek, Dutch, or German. Only channel you get is BBC world, which only lasts 15 mins and is then repeated. On the plus side there is the free air conditioning, set at 25 degrees and the remote is screwed to the wall and covered by Perspex so that you can’t change it. Ok if you come from some exotic country but to be honest 25 degrees is a good summer’s day in Scotland and you don’t particularly want to sleep in that temperature.

This brings me to my last and most important point, the room telephone! We made a couple of calls home and were curious of the cost so went to reception to settle the bill, which was 15 euro 15 cents. While there we asked the guy for the hotel number so that we could receive calls rather than making them as it was cheaper. On checking out we were told that there was a phone bill of 15 euro 15 cents that we had to pay or our passports would not be returned. Having two young kids we had no choice but to pay it. Spoke to the manager who said he would get back to us... 3 hours later he never. Got the rep involved but she said no sorry because you don’t have a receipt there is nothing he could do. Told her we did not get a receipt for the second bill we had paid and she approached him again! Then they all started to act stupid and yet again declined to refund the money. So if you have already booked get receipts for everything that you have to pay for. This is the 1st time after visiting Corfu for 15 times that I have come across this dishonesty. 15 euro is not a great deal of money. For me it was the principal.

Overall:
It is advertised a 4 star hotel. If you can accept paying 4 stars but accepting 2 star accommodations then go for it. Having been to Corfu many times I have always accepted that you gat basic but acceptable accommodation for the self catering price.
If it's 4 star all inclusive you are looking for spend your well earned cash elsewhere. Not the worst place but certainly not the best for what you pay, and pay, and pay! Get receipts! Spent £400.00 on a week’s all inclusive.

Right well we have just returned from a two week stay at blue bay, and all in all we found it a pleasant holiday.

After reading reviews we was expecting the food to be boring and repetitive however we was suprised to find lots of variety and plenty of choice for all, unfortunately though there was a huge problem with the fly's crawling all over the food, at one time there was me, another woman and one of the chefs all trying to get them off the cakes which they seem to have a particular liking for.

The hotel itself is kept very clean, the workers there seem to be going all day and night don't think they actually go home! Our room was always cleaned well by the cleaners but the floors can be slippy so be careful, especially if your kids run riot like mine did we got through quite a few plasters including down the pool area.

All of the workers were very pleasant and most knew a little English. We were over there in a heat wave so the lawns were constantly been watered which could be tricky of a night when the sprinklers are on, because there was about 4-5 seperate sprinklers along each little path all facing different ways so you find yourself doing a mission impossible sort of action to get through dry!

Entertainment day and night I'm sad to say is rubbish! There should really be an indoor area with a proper stage and dare I say talented entertainers, how we longed to see something like traditional greek dancing or singing/dancing and not what we found.

I will start with the daytime entertainment, there were about 6 people that were part of an entertainment team and to me they had no umph about them at all they just went through the motions of the day. All of the games etc were just 5-10 minutes long and they were boring like darts, don't drop the baton and passing wet towels over your heads now I don't doubt for a minute that these games could be fun but not here, it was more a case of "ah right its time for darts right lets get it over with then". What I found annoying was if you said no to these entertainers then you was called lazy and sent to coventry!

Next would be night time entertainment this was the same people that did it in the day. Now to be fair to them we never went down because of the mozzies, as soon as you sat down they were all over you absolutely rife. But ear wigging in the day I don't think we missed much!

The one morning the entertainers were not so happy more like hung over so lord knows what they got up to.

We are glad to be back because we just simply got bored there is nothing at all to do apart from the pool and the beach and they are great if you want to relax for two weeks solid but we wanted to do things.

We spent a fortune on the pool tables just to keep us sane but even they were either broke or didn't have the right balls on and the cues were really bad.

The hotel runs a very clean ship, immaculate grounds.

The food was very well presented and I found the choice of dishes fine, the two children ate very well
from their own The desserts were lovely. The drinks were disappointing if they just added a fruity cocktail from the pool bar or one or two more local spirits rather than the five drinks on offer, this would make all the difference.

The worst all inc drinks package I have encountered and it does put a negative edge on the holiday which is a shame because the views and food are great.

The First Choice club was good and the children enjoyed it there and the two later evening sessions are a real treat to be able to relax in the reception bar rather than by the pool side.

The entertainment was poor the guy at the pool during the day was good fun but the evenings were dragged out and flat.

The mosquitos were a big issue and if they had an indoor entertainment area this would help as most nights were a battle to stay bite free, the hotel does little to help this situation there were no zappers or candles provided by them and each table had to have a candle to try and keep them at bay, I spent a fortune on sprays it is a shame as the views are beautiful and an ideal setting or sit of an evening so take long trousers long sleeves for the nights and the salt water did help to relieve the bites the next day.

I liked the bay to the left of the hotel the water was shallow and calm and ideal to take a break from the hotel routine.

The harbour at Kassiopi was nice and their is a bus but the evening visits are a bit two short to really take in a meal etc at leisure for a change from the hotel entertainment. The staff all work long hours and they were all nice when approached and helpful in the restaurants etc.

I would return if I hear that the drinks package and entertainment area had been altered as I have been to a four star rated all inclusive before and they seem to cater in these areas a lot better.

The hotel is isolated but that is mentioned in the brochure, however for a real relaxing break this is a fantastic resort a week to ten days is ideal here and there are many day trips available to get around the island.

The transfer is quite long and if you suffer from travel sickness then you would need to take something to help with the long bendy roads from the airport to resort. I would never do a night flight from this resort as the coach
journey is is at least 2 hours long and corfu airport is small and stuffy and if you had a delay the thought of being stuck outside the airport in the waiting areas or in the small departure area would be awful in the small hours.

When our family first arrived at the hotel we were amazed, the hotel is completely clean and the views are utterly breathtaking! We though although the situation wasn't ideal, because there wasn't really much to do around except about 3 shops and one or two bars. Really, you couldn't have asked for a nicer hotel though, it was so well looked after and the rooms were just right for families.

We were told by a friend who also visited that the food wasn't really anything special. Although i must agree, there was a little repetition in the meals, the food was wonderful! There was so much choice and also there were snacks whenever you wanted which were quite nice, that is if you were all inclusive.

We didn't really speak to the hotel staff very often although the bar men all seemed very nice and so did the maids. The people at reception were a little awkward sometimes but overall they seemed to be OK.

Entertainment varied. Some of the shows that were put on by companies that did not work with the entertainment team weren't very interesting but when the actual entertainment team put on a show it was really good!

Also in the day there is an endless list of activities to take part in and the people involved are really nice and friendly, couldn't ask for better.

The Hotel is beautifully set in lovely well maintained grounds with gorgeous views...there is however, not a lot around just a couple of shops and 2 small beaches...so boredom does set in!

The apartment was excellent, with 2 large bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and a large living room area and it was cleaned daily. There was air conditioning units on each of the walls and the cold water could be drank, as it is filtered. There are, however, no plugs for the baths, (so you will have to take your own), and the hot water seems to be shared throughout the 'block of apartments', so doesn't stay hot for too long.

The food was good...and nicely cooked, with plenty of choice of hot and cold meals.

The free drinks were basic and rather disapointing, served in small glasses (we were having to get 3 at a time to keep us going as there was only one guy serving at times)....and were being charged 3 euro's a drink for the others.

The First Choice Rep's were excellent and very helpful, although I found the hotel staff to be a bit miserable.

The entertainment was very poor, (Bingo, Disco, and a couple of second rate acts), the men were very lucky that there was plenty of Premiership and European Football on the Bar TV that week to keep us going. The SKY TV in the apartments was a bit 'hit and miss', however, there were films on at 10:00pm for the kids so it helped to ease the boredom....we also had to play cards constantly.

The pool was extremely cold and unbearable at times, and the wasps were a constant nuisance. The mossies, were even worse...even though we used repellants and candles we still got covered in bites.

On the whole, this place has a lot of potential and could be very good, however, it lets itself down in so many areas. Because it is stuck in the middle of nowhere, it needs to get better on site enertainment, a heated pool and do something about the insects, otherwise it will be a 3 star rating hotel and not the 4 star it hails to be.

The grounds were beautiful, the apartment was very large & spacious.

The apartments were cleaned daily & our particular maid was very thorough ... although others said their maid was not much cop!

The food was boring & most of it tasteless!

The hotel staff were nice although you had to make the effort with them!

The entertainment - what entertainment?!? I was really disappointed having been to other All Inclusives who keep adults & children entertained as much or as little as you want!

If it wasn't for the mosquitoes & wasps & the food was nicer & there was entertainment yes, but as this wont change - no!

Just a few gripes, The all inclusive drinks are very very limited only beer, vodka, wine, ouzo, orange liquer, gin and brandy, that is it, you pay extra for anything else.

First Choice reps brilliant couldn't do enough.

Wasps and Mossies a real pest so take your bite and sting kit before you leave.

Food was very well cooked and presented although limited for choice. Beach bar come servery was OK lunch times.

The rooms are on the large side they are all self catering apartments comfortable and clean.

The resort is kept in good order gardeners keep the grounds very nice. You can catch a bus into Corfu town, but you will have a 15 minute mwalk to the main road the bus costs 3 Euro one way, you will have about 3 hours to shop or 6 hours if you catch the next bus.

All in all the hotel need to do some thinking on ways to improve during the winter, not much just have a better variety of drinks available and a more varied menu. The coutesy bus needs to leave the hotel more often as well.

Where do I start?

On arrival to blue bay we were greeted by a neanderthal who issued our apartment keys, nice welcome. Once inside our apartment we discovered that the air conditioning was not working and our patio door in the living area was broke and could be slid open from outside even when locked.

After numerous discussions with the very unhelpful staff my patio door and air conditioning were fixed after 48 hours supposedly. For the next 6 days the " now fixed" air con continually leaked all over the apartment floor causing what can only be described as Corfu's new Aqualand. After being reassured this problem was fixed daily we were told we had to move rooms as the wall needed to be hacked out and the piping changed, very strange due to it having been fixed daily.

The food was repetitive, bland and non imaginative, unless you like chips with pork, fish or chicken for 14 days.

The location was pretty much in the middle of nowhere but was adjacent to two filthy beaches.

Anyone with a phobia of wasps stay well clear, there are hundreds all over the resort and you cant get away from them.

It got to the point where we would take our food to our apartment and eat it on the balcony where if you were lucky you may only have two pestering you.

As for the mosquitoes, even though we used candles from the nearby shop and all lotions and potions available to man we were constantly bitten daily, myself having only 32 bites by the end of the first week.

The entertainment can not be called entertaining, it was nothing short of disgusting. Some nights being a disco or a quiz.

These really entertaining shows would average an hour long duration and then you were left twiddling your thumbs.

The all inclusive drinks were shocking, very limited to lager, vodka, ouzo, brandy and an orange liqueur. The soft drinks were of very little colour or taste. But at least they were served by the ever so unhappy staff who just seemed like they didn't want to be there, and everything they did seemed like you were asking them for their first born.

In conclusion the holiday was disgusting, the worst i have ever been on. There is more chance of hell freezing over before I would return to camp Colditz.

On arrival we thought how clean this hotel is,
I will try to make my review easy for you so you can make an informed decision

First lets start with the staff, they are very friendly we found all staff this way I think this is because we were friendly to them of course there is the language barrier but a smile is a smile in any language, so just remember to pack your smile and be polite and they will return this if you are ignorant to the staff expect to get the same back.

Next food, the food was good, my children aged 16, 11 and 09 really enjoyed the food they ate all the time but they never ate of the kids menu as this kind of food is not what they are used to and it was repetitive, I cook lots of foreign foods at home so my children are used to trying different foods if your children are used to eating chicken nuggets and fish fingers then the kids menu will be fine for them, I encourage my children to eat different foods so they were really happy with the menu and so was my husband, there were three theme nights a week and the other nights the food was really nice

The pool was cleaned daily although it could be cold at times but then again I have never been to a hotel that had a warm outside pool, there are lots of sun beds but you will find yourself doing the once German ritual ( which was quickly taken over by Italians and English ) of putting towels on sun bed, I personally said I would never be that sad but when you get down there and there are no beds we would go to the beach, it didn’t bother us at all but when you get back so the kids can have lunch and towels are still there with no people on them you have to think about doing the sad thing, a few times we would come back from the beach and sit by the pool bar just watching and families were not getting to the pool until 3 or 4 pm but because they had towels on bed they just sat right don and then 30 mins later left the pool area with the towels fair or not I think not but there is absolutely nothing you can do about it.

The drinks that are available are lager ouzo Kum quat wine soft drinks tea coffee and water and all are served in plastic cups by the pool which I for one was pleased about because I would rather have plastic than broken glass all over and cutting my children .

The apartments are lovely and cleaned daily.

All in all we had a fantastic time and have booked again to go again in July this year but we booked direct with the hotel and separate flights as this worked out cheaper 1000 pounds cheaper, I do hope I have helped Happy Holidays

For better or worse had plenty time to consider my thoughts on Blue Bay - here they are.

Firstly positives - views truly breathtaking - never forget them - First Choice reps - particularly children's ones - first class.

Beach three minutes walk left of main gates very clean quite peaceful and sea fantastic!

The often mentioned Mexican lady running the hotel shop - charming, interesting and very helpful.

Food at poolside - at worst adequate - best very good.
cleanliness of rooms also high.

Football school great, though alarmingly we were told due to poor take-up, footy may not be continued at Blue Bay.

Finally, the behaviour and therefore the general atmosphere on the whole of the children was very good - even some of the adults! In what is generally a relaxing environment for those preferring a quieter holiday with younger children.

On the downside... mosquito's!!!! though not many wasps - absolute nightmare and two months later I still have many visible blisters as legacy to best part of hundred bites, why don't the locals appear to suffer? - what's the secret- would have paid a fortune.

"Entertainment"? - children's disco at start of each evening whether by German or English reps was great. In complete contrast the rest was the complete opposite - an embarrassing mix of second-rate acts and bingo hosted by people way out of their depth - hugely lacking in the charisma department and always involving huge gaps in proceedings which in hindsight may of been best part of evenings! All of which left you the option to go back to your apartment - only to the extremely disappointing "satellite TV" choice as advertised. 5 local or foreign channels or 24 hours news channel in the often vain hope that something half decent would be on the one and only watchable sports channel! How easy would it be to put a DVD player for a start in the rooms for kids first thing in morning or last thing at night!!?.

In summary, hotel has so much going for it given it's spectacular location but really needs to sharpen up their act - I look back now and wish one of those TV reality troubleshooters could visit the place as for not much more effort or expense. The place could be fantastic rather than just good, still the kid's loved it and that as every parent know's, is about as good as it gets!

Hi
We returned from Villa Cathy on 9th September. All I can say is we had a great time and will be going back very soon.
Some lovely tavernas within walking distance and supermarket.

The beach is brilliant, you can hire sunbeds and brollies.

The Prices for our two weeks stay was only ₤ 950.00 for the 8 of us!!

Overall, a great place to take a holiday and is definitely worth it.

Although the hotel was clean and in beautiful surroundings it was in the middle of nowhere and next to a swamp where the mosquito's where breeding ready for that nights onslaught.

The hotel staff worked hard from morning to night and some where friendly especially the gardeners and a Mexican lady in the hotel shop who was more than helpful with any questions you may have had, but on the whole a lot of the staff looked as thought all they had to do was get throught their shift.

The hotel food was fine if you liked the same choice for the whole of your stay and in the end we went to Kassiopi twice for a decent meal which when you have paid almost £4K for an all inclusive you should not have to do.We met a lot of people who had done or where planning to do the same so it was not just what we thought.

Lastly the mosquito's were terrible and the two weeks we where there just about everybody had been eaten due to a storm before we arrived which I was told by staff had stirred them up. It did not matter what repellents you used they still got you and eventually I had about 20 blisters on me due to bites 5 of which I still have 4 days after returning home.

We have just had a fantastic 2 weeks in this hotel and would definately return, however we would book direct with the hotel rather than a tour operator as it works out cheaper.

The hotel is kept spotless and the staff can not do enough to help you as long as you treat them with respect and have manners.

The rooms are big and had plenty of room for 5 of us, although the sofa beds in the lounge area were a little creaky they were comfy.

The food is excellent and theres plenty of choice for adults, the kids menu was a little repetetive (chicken nuggets, sausages or fish fingers chips and a pasta dish to choose from)but there was nothing to stop them from enjoying the adult dishes or salad choices - my kids only ate the kids menu a couple of times.

The daytime snacks were great - hot dogs, burgers, toasties, pizza or kebabs.

There are plenty of sunbeds by the pool however the umberellas providing shade are all taken by 7am so if you need shade (like we did for an 18 month old baby) you find yourself joining the crowd and getting up early enough to get an umberella - we weren't sad enough to reserve them the night before tho.

The entertainment was not the greatest however was in line with most holiday entertainment I have experienced. Mini disco at 8pm, Bingo at 9pm and then something else at 10pm there was a magician, a singing duo that were excellent, greek dancers, Karaoke etc, but with young kids late entertainment didn't bother us anyway.

We found the greeks really friendly all the staff were lovely - we visited Molos bar and one morning my husband went to see if the football was on that night - the owner gave him the remote control told him to watch what he wanted and then bought him a beer as my husband had not taken his wallet.

The beaches were small natural beaches and not crowded which meant you could enjoy them - the water was warm and stayed shallow enough for the kids to walk out for quite a way before it got too deep.

In summary there was little you could fault at this hotel and I would definatelty return.

Just returned from Blue Bay Escape and it was a great place to take a holiday.

Food was fantastic if you tried all of the available dishes. Chicken nuggets and fish fingers are repetitive if that’s all you have at home.
The kebabs in the day were great but ask for no salt! Wednesday is BBQ day by the pool and again, excellent.

The whole place is kept spotless by an army of cleaners and gardeners and the staff are friendly, if you are friendly to them. If you are rude to them (remember your manners) they will take an age to serve you. If you make the effort to get to know them there are no problems with them. Kosta and Tony in the lounge bar are good guys. Just by smiling and saying hello to the staff helps you out a lot.

Entertainment is a bit naff but we were in a party of 10 so we made our own entertainment.
Soccer school is great for the younger kids but is a bit pricey for what you get.

Went to Hydropolis which was ok as a water park. It was big enough to cope with a lot of people but not as big as others elsewhere we’ve been on holiday. Booked it though Tanya travel, which is just down the small road.
Trips to Acharavi and Kassiopi, day or night, are recommended, even if it’s just for a change of scenery.

The apartments are big enough for 4 and they are good enough for what you use them for. Sleeping and getting ready for the day or night. What do people expect, full satellite tv to watch all day instead of doing something??

Went to Molo’s one night to watch the football and he was fine whilst taking your money but don’t even think about sitting on his sunbeds if you are just passing by the beach or just there for a quick dip in the sea!!
Valentino’s is much better but the Lagoon café is pretty poor. Overpriced and not a lot of food on your plate.
We were lucky enough to go to a Greek festival by Valentino’s one evening and that was very busy. Stalls selling jewellery, cds, food and crappy souvenirs. Owners didn’t hassle you though and this was the same in all of the shops that we visited in the different resorts.

Tried the water sports at the bottom of the hotel, and it was 15 euros per person on whatever ride you wanted. Went out for about 15 – 20 minutes on the ‘Big Mable’. (Inflatable sofa!). Good fun and worth every cent.

Pool was great with plenty of sun beds but be warned, that the once German trait of reserving sun beds is now fully English. People were out after the pool bar shut at mid night putting towels out and getting the parasols.
How sad are you people?
It was the same people who rushed their dinner (on ‘their tables’ of course) to make sure that they got ‘their table’ in the pool bar. The very same people who walked away from the meeting about the foiled terrorist attacks the day before they went home because the restaurant was about to open!! Muppets.

There are mozzies flying about but not really a problem if you wear repellent and / or have the citronella candles from the shop. Only wasps we saw were flying around the soft drink dispenser in the pool bar.

The transfer is 2 hours and can get a bit hairy on the tight roads but it is worth it once you are there. You quickly forget it.

Overall, a great place to take a holiday and is definitely worth its 4 star plus rating.

The all inclusive status for this hotel i thought is an excellent choice.Drinks were very limited though to locally produced and there could have been more choice to allow drinks you usually associate with a 4 star all inclusive venue for a holiday.

The hotel was always cleaned to a very high standard and the cleaning staff were constantly working to keep it that way.More attention to detail could have been applied to the individual apartment rooms sometimes but generally were a very good standard.

The hotel food in general was good for adults who could eat a different range of food and recipes. My sons are 11 and 14 and i think a more varied could be put on for younger people.

The hotel had fantastic views but a little isolated in the North in relation to the remainder of corfu.I hired a car which got us away from the hotel at times to explore Corfu.

The hotel staff were pleasant and helpful throughout our stay and nothing was to much trouble. The restaurant staff were also very professional and courteous but a little over keen at times to get you out of the restaurant when you wanted to relax.

Entertainment was not so good. The entertainment programme lacked innovation and general motivation and were boring at times.Every night was the same, kids disco, bingo and a show until 11 oclock which was repeated in the second week of our stay. Very little was laid on for teenagers in the entertainment programme who just played pool or went in the pool.We had planned to travel around Corfu which we did and made our own entertainment which we and our boys thouroughly enjoyed to the max.

We would visit the hotel again if a future review indicated that there was a more varied and interesting entertainment programme for all ages.

BLUE BAY ESCAPE RESORT IN CORFU...ST SPYRIDON ...the hotel and surroundings were beautiful we cannot fault this, the food was in a word RUBBISH for 4 star I would expect a higher quality of food, and very bland and boring.

The greek waiters and waitresses were very nice and pleasant but as for the management I've been treated better by Macdonalds staff I was disgusted at the way we were treated and spoken to by so called management.

Entertainment...should there have been some then???? Apart from 1 night of the First Choice staff putting on a show all we had was bingo for an hour then were expexted to just sit and do nothing, we expected more from a £2000 plus holiday, if we wanted to watch TV or go to bed at 10pm we would have stayed at home, first choice say the entertainment is starting now but what good is that to us when our holiday is over???

As for would we go again ... in a word NEVER so thats 11 people they have lost, its the worst holiday we have EVER had ...thanks for nothing ... I could say so much more but it gets me mad when I think about it, I struggled for 10 months to pay for a dream holiday for myself and sons and this is what we got.

We first visited Blue Bay in 2004 and had a self-catering apartment but paid extra on a few days to upgrade to all-inclusive just for those days.

This was a better arrangement as the food is not very exciting and there is no source of protein apart from feta cheese if you are vegetarian. The entertainment is poor and the 9-14 kids programme was abandoned as there weren't many young folk of that age staying during our first week, the hotel entertainers were much better than the reps at providing things which our son could join in.

The hotel and accomodation was generally very clean but the toilets in the main area were disgusting on the two occasions I used them. Because the hotel is now entirely all-inclusive the restaurant and snack bar staff pounce on your plates, sometimes before you've finished in order to move you on quickly, this became very annoying.

I felt they were under very strict suoervision from the restaurant manager.I also had to go to the pool area before 7.30am each day to ensure we had some shade to lie in. we were also disturbed at 11.30 one evening, after we had gone to bed, by a work man looking for some tools he'd left when he'd mended the shower, he actually let himself into our room!!

We were saddened by the plight of local tavernas which were very busy 2 years ago and are now facing financial hardship because of hotels becoming all-inclusive.

We ate at a local taverna and we were their only customers that evening. I felt quite guilty that we were part of the reason they had lost so much business.

The location of this hotel is quite beautiful but isolated, if we visit this area again we would make other accomodation arrangements.

I recently stayed in the Blue Bay Escape in Corfu. Compared to other all inclusive holidays I must admit I was very disappointed in the lack of variety there was on offer for drinks. I also found the staff to have a distinct lack of interest in making their guests feel welcome and the entertainment on offer (or not as the case may be) was very annoying, hence bored children seemed to run a mock around the place. I increasingly found myself having to leave the hotel in able to enjoy a night out not exactly what I had in mind for an all inclusive I would have been better going half board and therefore not expecting to save money. The food was alright but a bit limited for children. I could not complain about the cleanliness and the cleaners did an excellent job. Overall I would not return to this rather poor excuse for an all inclusive, and be warned if you are expecting to get drunk from the Pool side bar think again, I may suspect that is not full strength alchohol served in those tiny plastic cups (either that or my intolerance to alchohol has improved greatly!!)

The hotel is modern and very clean. All the rooms are large and have air-con.

The staff work very hard and are polite and funny.
The food was lovely and we got to try lots of new receipes.
There aren't many drinks for all inclusive but we managed. There is beer, wine, vodka, ouzo, schnapps and brandy. The others are available but you have to pay.

The entertainment is mainly sports based during the day (water polo was a real laugh) organised by the hotels reps. They also do the night time entertainment which isn't up to much but they try hard.

It's bingo, kareoke and a few singing and dancing shows. Most of it is done in English & German as half of the hotel is sold to Germans.

The First choice reps do party dances with the kids every night which can get a bit repetitive but the kids loved it.
We went snorkelling with the Corfu Divers who operate from the hotel which was a great experience, worth every euro. My son loved scuba diving in the pool every day.
The pool was great and really cold which you needed to cool down as the weather was sooooooooo hot.

You will need mosquito repellent and the local shops sell the candles. There are wasps but they aren't a problem if you don't leave sticky drink cups lying around.
The 2nd week was a bit of fight to get a sunbed under the parasols but not too much of a problem.

We would definately go back as we had a great 2 weeks here.

The hotel was beautiful, the views where great.

Very limited on alcohol drinks if all-inclusive beer ouzo brandy and not much more.

When spending any of your euros be prepared to be ripped off could'nt believe what they charge for things over there.

Lots of English in the hotel which was good usually lots of Germans about. I think when we went the season was just starting it was early May not many staff on and rushed off their feet.

Basically and we had a mini heatwave that fortnight. There is a table reserved just as you walk through the double glass doors on your right for the owners of the hotel a little information for you.

There are some cats which keep the children entertained and adults. The childrens reps were brilliant very helpful and nothing too much trouble!

This the the 2nd year we traveled to the Blue Bay, and probably the last.

The Hotel is great, the views are fantastic and the rooms are clean and spacious. The kids club and reps where fab our kids loved going to that and the First Choice mini disco.

The food got a bit boring and repetitive, the drinks where appaling, the Fanta Orange was that weak it was clear, and the sprite was bad tasing soda for at least 4 days before any thing was done about it.

The entertainment was non exsistant, and in a remote resort there is nothing else to do in the evening's, we ended up spending a great deal off time at Molos and Valentinos and spent what we would off done self catering!!!

One last note book your trips at Tanya Travel, they are the same trips as first choice but a lot cheaper.

This was our second visit to Blue Bay. We went last year and absolutely loved it. This year we were very disappointed. Don't get me wrong, we enjoyed out holiday, but it has really gone downhill since last year.

The main reason for this is very simple - it's not exclusively First Choice anymore. They have opened up the allocation to Tui which we think is the German version of Thomson holidays. I know that sounds a bit racist and pompous - but it's had such a negative affect on the entertainment, reps and food. Last year the First Choice reps were superb. They were always around the complex playing with the kids and getting everyone involved, and the evening entertainment was great for the kids. This year, half of the reps were German/Austrian, and they weren't half as committed and nice to the kids. One German rep, set challenges for the kids which sent my 7 year old down to the beach for a pebble - that's outside the complex along a busyish road!! If my husband hadn't seen him going out of the gate, goodness knows what might have happened. That just wouldn't have happened last year.

The hotel itself is very clean, although we did seem to have a problem with ants in our room this year. Also, I was eaten alive by mossies this year, so please prepare yourself with lots of repellent. My husband and little boy didn't get bit once though - so maybe I've just got tasty blood!

The location is in the middle of nowhere, but as it's all inclusive, we weren't planning on straying far anyway. We took a couple of trips into Kassiopi using the free hotel bus, and this was lovely. Acharaavi is a waste of time though.

Entertainment was naff this year. Most of the week, the Germans did the 'shows'. There was the kids disco and bingo, but a bit boring every night.

All in all, we did have a good week, but we won't be going back. It's a shame, because it really had potential before the allocation was split.

We arrived back from a weeks holiday yesterday and are we glad to be back YES!!!!! right lets start with the good points...

The hotel was very clean and the rooms are pretty big but the beds are really noisy.

The pool was lovely our 6 year old had a great time in it. The views across to the Albanian mountains were fantastic.

Now the bad points....

the staff were really unfriendly don't turn your head away for 1 minute as your plate will be swiped from the table they don't give you chance to finish your meal. The food was boring it all looked nice but all tasted the same and we lived on pork and chips for the whole week. The kids menu was poor the same thing every night the fish fingers and nuggets were over fried and solid. Breakfast wasn't too bad though. The all inclusive drinks were very limited we didn't mind using the plastic cups round the pool as its for safety reasons.

The beach was about a 4 minute walk and you have to cross a road to get to it something First Choice fail to tell you in the brochure. The beach itself wasn't great there was a lot of cigarette ends and bits of rubbish lying about the sea though was lovely and clear, it was also abit annoying that if you needed a drink or the loo you had to drag all your things back to the hotel to have one.
We went a walk round the nature reserve one day and the place was littered with rubbish it was filthy.

Now then the entertainment or lack of it...

There was nothing in the day for the kids to do apart from kids club which our 6 year old refused to go to. The evenings were BORING they have nothing at all to do apart from BINGO which ended up costing a fortune. There was 3 Germans entertaining and they did do there best so hats off to them.

The airport was a nightmare I had read reports about it but wasn't expecting it to be quite as bad as it was.

Would I go back?? NO!!!! The island is a lovely place with great views but the hotel was not up to the standard of a 4 star.

The food was very good, catered for both children and adults. The whole of the hotel was immaculate, with very friendly staff.(pity some of the holidaymakers didn't know how to say please and thank you).

The entertainment is a no go best stay up at the terrace and let the children play. The beach not as good as it looked in brochure but sea was lovely.

My children were happy and they enjoyed it therefore we were happy. Never did any of the trips but everyone that we spoke to didn't recommend them, too expensive for what they were.

If you didn't put towels down before 7am you didn't get a brolly and there is no natural shade by the pool. Would recommend for those who just want to chill.

Firstly be warned St Spyridon where this hotel is situated is NOT a resort, it has two small beaches a supermarket, a small tourist shop and some mosquito ridden paths, if you do not use the hotel courtesy bus, hire a car, or go on excursions there is nothing to do outside of the hotel.

Grumble aside the hotel is of a very high standard, extremely clean as the apartments and grounds are cleaned every day. The food is excellent well cooked if a bit monotonous, (everything with chips). The views are gorgeous, with the mountains of Corfu to the front of the hotel and across the bay at the back of the hotel the panoramic mountains of Albania. A quaint and novel feature of the hotel is where the apartment blocks have been named after Ian Fleming characters from the James Bond books, we stayed in the Blofeld block, (he was the villain with the white cat).

Now for the bad features, the hotel staff can be a bit moody especially the bar staff, the entertainment was terrible, the animation team tried their best but were woefully inadequate for the job at hand. The hotel is described as a family friendly hotel, but outside of the kids club there is nothing for the children to do except go in the pool, my children were aged 3 & 4, and they soon got very bored, the children's playground is a joke with a slide and 1 swing on grass that when it is damp turns into a muddy mire. My eldest was not too well when we arrived at the hotel so we did not put him into the kids club and he soon became bored just going to the pool each day.

I would not book the excursions through the First Choice staff as they are very expensive, and would recommend the tourist agencies that are near the hotel, there is one out the front of the hotel and to the left down the hill, about 100 yards away, we booked an excursion into Corfu Town with them and whilst we were waiting for the coach to arrive which was late the owner bought some toys out for my two boys to play with which i thought was very nice.
When in Corfu Town I would highly recommend going on the Kalypso Star boat trip, my kids loved looking at the sea creatures and the sea lion show.

Be warned however in Corfu town you can be legally mugged, we stopped at a cafe called Tweety's ordered four ice creams and soft drinks and were charged 39 euros, (approx £33)! I would recommend eating and drinking at the Liston it is expensive but the atmosphere and views were excellent.

I would return to this hotel again but only if they moved it to a different resort like Sidari which is more commercialised with more to do and see.
