| said: I stayed at Lanzarote Bay hotel in August.
The hotel was clean apart from some items of litter that remained for 2 weeks. The maid work hard and was very courteous.
The food was of a excellent standard. The hotel is located out of the main town but 10 minutes walk away.
The entertainment was terrible and the entertainment was like being in an oven. The hotel staff were very helpful always courteous.
The tour operators brochure is what lets this what lets this holiday down it is totally misrepresented.

| said: just read reviews an I thought this hotel was fine. The hotel staff were really helpfull, the reasturant staff were fantastic and so were the entertainment team, they worked really hard. Admitted some of the entertainment wasnt up to much, agreed Robbie Williams was awful but some of the other acts made up for him. The entertainment area was very cramped and instead of saving a sunbed in a morning it was a case of saving a seat before evening meal, which I agree I was very sad and did this twice as my child was in a show. The food was fine always a choice of various dishes and kids meals were ok to. The rooms were cleaned everyday apart from Sundays, admitted they were cockroaches, but we were on the ground floor, we had about one a day. Friends of ours were on the second and third floor and they didnt have any. The buildings go in blocks A,B,C,D,E block A,B are near reception and play area, C,D,E. are near football and tennis courts these blocks are quieter. We were in A room 108 bit noisy with main road and at 12 midnight when people were going to bed, but not to bad, had some earplugs! This hotel is closing down for refurbishment in october, and Im sure once it hsa been done and if they do move the entertainment area it will be really nice, yes it is looking a bit tired but still had a lovely time and would go back again.

| said: Maid came and cleaned the room daily except Saturday's, the standard varied, from good to ok.The food was of a good standard but there was very little choice, it was pork most nights and on one occasion the food was cold.Breakfast was probably the best meal of the day for choice. the evening buffet was next to useless as it was basically leftovers from dinner.
The location was ok but whenever we booked a trip we had to be picked up at Playa Bastion, just to find that the coach would pass directly outside the hotel.A short taxi ride costing between 2.30 and 2.90 euros got us to the main part of teguise. Not much to do here though unless you like eating.
Hotel staff were friendly enough, but reception were snail like in dealing with people, painfully so at times.
Entertainment was useless, the hotel team seemed to enjoy sharing private jokes and were just plain boring and to be honest had there been somewhere else to go we'd have gone. the few professional acts that came into the hotel also varied in quality, the robbie williams act was just hilarious....
The hotel looked dated and tired and i would not re visit the hotel

| said: booked this hotel directly as it was recommended a few years ago by some friends.slightly disappointed as it does need attention ie woodwork, decorating, new windows, doors etc, and especially air conditioning. i requested block ab and for the 2 rooms to be put together. they were and this block was excellant right above reception and quiet. as for the cockroaches sorry to say but we never say 1 in the whole 2 weeks (honest i would be the first to complain). the staff were very friendly and helpfull. the food was excellent and was always a differnt roast each night. having read previous reports about food beig cold i didnt find this at all nor did any of my family. there was chinese, mexican, italian, and spanish nights, which was good to have a change. the only dissapointment about the food was the snack bar at night personnally i think it was a waste of time, nothing worth eating. the hotel grounds could have been cleaner and the rooms cleaned more thouroughly. we had clean towels each day but never really seen many maids about. the guys at the pool area did their best to keep this area clean and tidy but the lazy people who didnt put their rubbish in the bins provided made their job extremely difficult. the hotel was about 10 - 15 mins walk to the center but the walk was nice and we used to get taxi back. the entertainment team worked very hard but the acts that they get in for the evenings could be better. the kids loved the guys who always kept them going. the hotel is closing in september for a well overdue makeover and im sure when this is done i would cinsider going back. my two teenage daughters made some really good friends and miss them all, they had really good fun at the pool during the day and their meetings at the park at night. on the last night they all ended up in the pool, aults as well, for that last splash and was enjoyed by all. we met up with a few families and made our holiday great.unfortunately one of them got his bag at the pool stole. be aware but gypsy like ladies came into the hotel pretending to be residents and went around the pool area looking for bags, valuables etc. so be aware that this goes on and report it to the recepetion as soon as possible. but we didnt let this spoil the rest of our holiday, we had a ball. one word of warning be aware of the very high winds. they could be very frightning at times especially at night when we tried to keep the windows open and the winds were high.

The food was brilliantand if it wasn't hot enough there was a microwave.
Then hotel staff work very hard and will not pass without speaking to you,
The hotel is about a 10 min walk down to town but we used to walk down get a taxi back, 3 euros, not massive shops, but we liked what we saw.
The entertainment staff were brilliant,Adam Mahon Johan and Sandra, worked very hard to keep all the kids and adults happy and lest
We would go to this hotel again, but it's being closed down at the end of the season for a refit.but we would recommend it to everyone,
You must try one of Raul's Gi- giy cocktails,, Mmmmmmm

The patio doors were rotten, one bang and they could be openend. The food was the same everyday, no variety at all for the children. In the evenings the bar closed at 12.00pm prompt and there was no other bar to go and purchase a drink. They even turned the lights out on us! Anyone arriving late wanting a drink could not get one. The location was a little our of town, but was nice to have a walk in the evening. Could not faulty the staff, they were excellent, polite, friendly and brilliant with the children. The entertainment was okay, something on every night. I would not visit this hotel again unless it was bought upto date.

| said: Our first time all inclusive, first time in Lanzarote and we had the best time of our lives. The staff were fantastic, very professional, always smiling and couldn't do enough to help.
The entertainments staff were out of this world and seemed to be there every second of the day. I don't know how much they were paid, but it wasn't enough!
The room was adequate, spacious and clean, the bedroom was bigger than I expected and had more wardrobe space too. The kids slept on sofa beds in the living area, which was very comfortable and a bit of an adventure for them and the maid came in 6 out of 7 days and replaced the towels, cleaned everywhere up and made the beds.
The food was fantastic and the restaurant staff was what you would expect of one of Gordon Ramsay's restaurants. The choice was fantastic and even my wife, who is vegetarian, had enough to choose from.
The entertainment in the evening was superb. It started off with the kids disco, followed by a quick spell of bingo, then some sort of entertainment for the adults which never failed to please.
The drinks were excellent too. The beer was San Miguel, the soft drinks were branded, i.e. Coke, Diet Coke, Fanta and Sprite. The bar staff did a kids cocktail of Fanta orange and grenadine which the kids loved. The spirits were local, but more than adequate, and the bar staff, who were superb, made cocktails and anything you'd care to ask for.
The kids play area, as stated in a previous review, was under a grass roof, and was close enough to keep the kids in sight whilst relaxing at the superb pool bar.
Snacks and drinks were available all day, loads of activities for everyone to do, (I learned archery!), and there were diplomas for the winners which were handed out during the evening entertainment.
It was a great relaxed atmosphere and everyone appeared to have a good time. We made loads of friends and there was no trouble at all.
There is a courtesy bus every half hour, to and from the main beach, but we found a marvellous little sandy cove which was literally ten minutes walk from the hotel. (Turn left out of the front door, first left, straight across the road and down the narrow roadway at Playa Bastian, and through the gate at the bottom. Turn left onto the promenade and it's by the windmill!)
The pool areas were immaculate and cleaned every morning. The pools themselves were spotlessly clean, big and very warm.
If we were to have to make any negative points, it would be that the chairs and table on the balcony were quite naff, but this wasn't helped by the fact that previous (English!) guests had seen fit to inscribe their names in the plastic. Also, there was no cutlery in the kitchen, but that being said, you could get anything you wanted by asking at reception, and we never needed it anyway as we were all inclusive. That being said, none of this detracted from the fabulous time we had.
We worked out that we saved well over a thousand pounds as opposed to going self catering,
All in all, this is a superb hotel with excellent staff, and I would go there even if we didn't have the kids. We were so impressed that as soon as we got back at the beginning of June, I immediately booked to go again in October! It's an excellent place for a family holiday and I would heartily recommend it to anyone. My wife says I am the original Victor Meldrew and the most difficult man on Earth to please, but they certainly managed it at the Lanzarote Bay!

The hotel rooms were quite spacious, but not very well equipped, the maids were in 6 days out of 7, clean towels were left everyday. we had a couple of cockroaches in the first 2 days but we were given a spray can to get rid of these, apart from that everything was o.k.
The food was excellent, lots of dishes to choose from and they catered for everyone.
The hotel staff were very friendly,we had booked 2 rooms but when we arrived we found that our rooms were not together, and the staff moved us so we could be near to each other.
The entertainment was o.k. the best show was the hotel staff themselves.
We would visit this hotel again in the future when its not so windy.

The hotel was very good, it was kept spotless at all times. The maids were very good, fresh towels were supplied every day except Sunday, if you catch the maid and ask her to leave extra towels on Saturday she will, we just gave her a tip and she left double towels.
We found the food very good, I have had to go on a diet since returning. Breakfast was good the only thing I would change would be the Spanish bacon if it was English bacon it would be better, the chef will cook pancakes, scrambled or fried eggs, there is plenty choice. From 10am there is food at the pool bar, sausages, burgers, ham, cheese, salad and chips and veg.
If you want a five course meal at lunch and tea time then you can. They have themed nights, Chinese, Mexican and Canarian, if you dont like that then there are lots of alternatives the chef carves a different joint every night. As if that's not enough at 9pm food is brought into the bar.
There isn't a lot round the hotel but there is a courtesy bus which runs down to the beach every half an hour, this is useful if you want to go to the shops.
The staff are really good they can't do enough for you.
If you do decide to go on any trips check at reception as they are cheaper than the reps. One trip we went on with the reps was titty trollops it was very good.
The entertainment wasn't very good, but the childrens entertainers seemed to be OK. We didn't have any children with us but what we saw was OK.
What I did think was good was by the pool the childrens play area was completely under a big thatched area.
Our room was B106 and we found this was great as we got sun on the patio all day. Blocks A & B are best.

| said: The hotel does need some general maintanance work e.g woodwork needs some attention round the windows and doors, could do with re-tiling in bathroom areas. However the room was always clean and tidy. Maids visited 6 days a week and changed the towels every day.
As expected food was buffet style with always alot of choice. The only down side were the lack of puddings. there were always fresh fruit available and picnic provided, if ordered, on days out.
From our room we were graced with having both a sea and pool view, noise was kept to a minimum. Nightlife is just a short distance.
Hotel staff always very pleasent and would go out of their way to help you. overall I would visit this hotel again.

| said: We landed at airport at 14.35 and we were sitting at the pool at 15.30! Got taxi form airport to hotel, took 15 mins, cost €18, check in at hotel took no more than 5 mins. Found our apartment, flung the stuff in and raced to the pool as the weather was lovely.
Pool was pretty cold. Apartment very good size for family of four. 2 single beds in the seperate bedroom and 1 sofa bed and 1 pull out bed in lounge. Still plenty of room in lounge to move about.
Kitchenette has fridge, cooker and cupboards but no crockery, not that we needed any as we were all inclusive. Bathroom was a good size. Shower over the bath and you also get shampoo and shower gel.
Sunbeds locked up till about 9 am. Not a problem at this time of year but in the summer it would be a nightmare. I dont think there would be any more than 70 sunbeds. There were quite a few umbrellas.
Food in the restaurant was very good. Full cooked breakfast, chef cooks your eggs to your liking, also cooks pancakes and scrambled eggs.
There was about 6 cereals, fresh fruit, bread, rolls, cold meat, jam, fresh juice etc. Lunch and evening meal there was always soup, rolls, salads, fish, meat, 2 or 3 veg, potatoes in 2 or 3 forms, and a kids buffet. Puddings there was always fresh fruit, 2 or 3 sponges, and a few other choices as well as ice cream and 4 different sauces. Chef always had something each night.
Entertainment through the day was pretty low key but I think this was the time of year. Had my 2 teenagers with me but most kids that were there were under 12. Not hotels fault.
Didn't go down to the entertainment at night, we tended to sit outside on the terrace as I like a wee smoke. You can't smoke in the entertainment lounge, just in the adults bar as long as you don't have children with you.
Hubby and I would come back here but not with the kids( but I think it was the wrong time of year for them)

| said: This hotel is well maintained depite being a little worn round the edges.
The pool area is well laid out and was undergoing some routine maitainence while we were there, but this did not inhibit its use.
The reception area includes a small shop, internet access point and is very spacious.
The location is about a 20 min walk from the resort centre and is a really nice walk.
There are some shops and supermarkets round the corner for those staying on a self-catering basis.
Our room was obviouly designed for a family staying on self catering and we had 2 balcony doors, one from the bedroom and the other from the lounge. It was really good to have the self catering facilities and this hotel would be ideal for my son and his family of 4.
The shower was nice and powerful and the romm was kept really clean 6 days a week.
The staff were naturally very friendly and a great help. They were only too willing to help you learn to speak the language if you would ask.
We did'n't avail ourselves of the entertainment but there was plenty there if you would like to do so.
Like most hotels in Spain now, there smoking and non-smoking areas throughout the hotel and the bar is strictly adults only which we apprecaited at night.
I rarely return to the same hotel twice but in this case I would.

We had booked 2 x 2 bedroom apartments, however, on arrival we were allocated 2 x 1 bedroom apts. We reported this to reception who were very efficient at sorting this and within 30mins had been moved.
The food was varied and plentiful as was the drink. There was a mexican night & a spanish night and also Roast Beef on Sunday! There were two fussy eaters in our party but both always found something they enjoyed.
The entertainments team (Chris, Terry & Marabel) were fantastic, they all worked extremely hard and always looked like they enjoyed themselves. The programme was varied and suited all ages with activities for children along with other activities for teens & adults. My kids came home with around 10 certificates each. Even I won one for 'killer' darts!
The staff were very friendly and helpful the rooms were cleaned 6 days a week with towels changed regular too.
Evening time there is a mini disco for the kids with dancing & games, followed by a quiz & bingo (for all). After which there was a show each evening. If you don't fancy this there is an adults only bar.
This complex should suit all parties, whether you are traveling alone, as a couple or a family there is definately something for everyone.
My kids are already asking when we can go back to Lanzarote Bay.

If you're thinking of booking this hotel ask for block a or ab. Rooms were serviced daily apart from a Sunday and the hotel was kept spotlessly clean.
The food is plentiful and hot and choices for everyone, there was a roast joint on offer every evening freshly carved in front of you as well as different themed nights.
Location is only a 10 minute walk to ct main drag and if you're beachy folk there's a courtesy bus running from the hotel during the day.
The pool area is adequate but sunbeds went very quickly in the morning. Having said that during the day people leave them to go for wanders so there wasnt a problem getting one at some point.
The big plus for this hotel in my opinion!!!! Was the hotel entertainment(NOT THE AIRTOURS KIDS CLUB WHO WERE NON EXISTENT!!),Chris, Terry, Marabella and Elanor who work for the hotel were absolutely superb, constantly on the go and making sure the kids were happy which in turn makes happy adults!!!.
And the sangria demos were hilarious, not sure how much terry and Chris remember of them!!!
All in all we had a great holiday and would go back to this hotel, the only letdown is the the usual slobbish behaviour of certain persons, who give everyone a bad name. I'd love to see these peoples houses!
However my opinion only.

We were checked in and directed to our room which was in block E. We had no idea where it was but were left to our own devices to try to find it. We did so eventually and although the room was clean we soon discovered we were not the only ones staying in it. We had a problem with cockroaches which, we discovered later were a problem in other rooms as they were all equiped with a spray to kill them - we didn't have one.
We were not notified before going to Lanzarote that there was building work being carried out at the hotel. We found that out to our cost as we were woken up every morning at 9.00 on the dot by two large JCB's loading numberous waggons. We were unable to get any sleep in the room at all during the day due to the constant noise.
The hotel was built as self catering apartments and as such does not provide all that is needed for an all inclusive holiday e.g there is no where to go if it rains - it did so for 2 days during our stay.
The room which is used in the evenings for entertainment is blocked off during the day so there are only a few chairs in reception and the Captains Bar (children not allowed) to sit in.
The staff work extremely hard - especially the entertainment staff but if it hadn't been for the sunshine we would have been very disappointed indeed.
We have been to Lanzarote many times before and this is the first time we have been disappointed.

Room: was very dated and shabby, we stayed on the pull out bed in the lounge area, the bedroom was way to hot due too no air conditioning. the toilet flooded into the room filling the whole area where we were sleeping at least 2. The cleaning isn't the best.
Pool area: beds out with towels on very early the floor was very slippy around the pool because the overflow was blocked the steps in the pool were loose there didn't seem to be enough room for the amount of people the hotel held and there were no shade what so ever.
Food and entertainment: The food was really good, wide selection. Always waiting for plates weren't enough for the amount of people.
The entertainment was great for kids but if you are a young couple there was nothing
Staff: The staff are fantastic they speak great English and are very helpful they work so hard they need to employ more staff to make less queueing, and the hotel cleaner.
We went down to the town every night and on the beach every day it's a 10 minute walk and it's worth it .
If you are a young couple there's not much there for a family it's probably slightly better. I hope this helps!

We were a bit worried about reviews that we had read and we should not have been.
The rooms are cleaned every day except Sunday and the staff work very hard to keep the pool area and reception area clean. People do queue for sun loungers in the morning but I didn't understand why as there was always plenty to go round, and those who did leave towels on loungers and go away for the day in my opinion are very selfish.
We went all inclusive for the first time ever and it was fab, the food was great and plenty to go round, although I must say that if you like Veal you are quids in as it was on the menu most nights in different disguises but there ws always plenty of other choices.
The hotel is about a 10 minute walk from the main town centre with plenty of shops and bars and only cost just over 2 euros for a taxi ride if you don't want to walk.
The staff were all very pleasant and welcoming and if you needed anything all you had to do was ask.
Entertainment was varied every night with kids disco and then a show later. There was also plenty of activities during the day for kids and adults.
I would reccomend this hotel and we would definately go back and we have never said that before about any resort we have been to.

| said: Just returned from Lanzarote bay hotel, I would ike to say that this hotel is for familes only, its not for couples.
It's true what people say about the sun beds people are waiting to put towels on beds at 7.30 on a morning we were directly over the pool area and watched them do it. Can't understand why because theres no shade whatsoever, no sun brollys unless you supplied your own.
We went to beach every day to hire the beds and parasols, it as been very hot there in the 30s every day, this hotel also as no airconditioning and its just as hot at night as it is in the day, you can hire fans if your lucky enough to catch someone leaving as we did, as they fight for the fans, not enough to go round.
I can honestly say that the food was good some think for every one. We have been to Lanzorote before and much prefare Puerto del Carmen a lot nicer place.

| said: I have just returned from a two week holiday at the Lanzarote Bay and can honestly say it was one of the worst experiences of my life. Now there are a few things to take into consideration before you read my report.
a) I am ordinarily a happy positive person who appreciates that there are ups and downs on holidays
b) I worked as a holiday rep for years and therefore am probably more aware than most and
C)I am not a person that moans for no reason.
Now, firstly, please, please, please do yourselves a favour and do not go there. I arrived mid afternoon and was directed to a dark and dingy room with a toilet that was overflowing with human excrement. Not good but I gave them a chance and allowed my pleading children to go in the pool whilst the staff resolved the problem. NOT. After semil unpacking the suitcases it became apparent that the toilet problem was not going to be resolved and I was forced to move to the third floor. Not ideal with three young children on my own. But not to worry someone would help eh? Wrong again.
I could go on forever but let me put it in a nutshell for you. Me and my children sat on concrete steps outside by a dimly lit pool at night such was the desperate need for extra seating. None of the pool tables or indeed any of the kiddie friendly machines ever worked and the broken tiles by the pool were a constant concern. A concern that became unfortunately a well founded one. A lovely family we met who helped me a great deal made the last few days bearable for me. Sadly, on the day I came home, the gentleman of the party lost half his toe on those broken tiles and the hospital were unable to sew it back on.
Do yourselves a favour. Stay clear of this totally run down hotel which according to the Airtours rep is closing down in October for refurbishment. In my opinion it needs to be totally rebuilt. I have returned from there a nervous wreck and my three young kids are begging never ever ever to go abroad again such was the trauma they experienced.

Entertainment was good, something different every night apart from bingo which is every night but quite a laugh.
Food was excellent you could always have something different every night.
Definitely would visit again. Would recommend the free activities as they are great fun.

| said: Having read reviews before we left I was a tad concerned.
Have to say all in all pleased with all accommodation standards. Yes its a bit dated but the rooms are kept spotless - maid service every day except Sunday.
We stayed in block B which was handy to pool area. On that subject as the resort is known as breezy teguise be prepared for a breeze at all times. We actually found this very pleasant. Thd downside was that litter tended to blow about the place. I have to add that litter was soley down to lazy parents and kids - there was no shortage of bins round the pool area. The staff worked hard to keep the pool area clean.
Sunbeds locked at night and queue forms from about 7.30 in morning. Tend to be unlocked from about 8.30. Some of sunbeds are in poor condition. Apparently a new order had failed to arrive!! Most annoying thing again was selfish guests who "booked" sunbeds and then disappeared off on a trip or to the beach for the day.
Our child was 12 and this seemed to be about the upper limit for kids at this complex. There was an Escape Club which he went to a few times. He had no trouble making friends with other kids and had a ball. British orientated complex - lots from Ireland and SCotland as well as England.
Entertainment throughout the day and in the evening was a bit hit and miss - decidely average. EVening entertainment held in "cavern" below reception - tended to get very warm and we didn't bother much with it.
Excellent that both restaurant and indoor entertainment area were non-smoking!!
On the subject of the restaurant. The staff worked very hard to keep tables cleared and to ensure that there was adequate crockery, cutlery etc. You stood at door and waited to be escorted to a table. We never had to wait more than about 30 seconds. Food was grand - good selection of hot and cold and usually a roast each evening. Perhaps could have been a bit warmer.
Stayed at Lanzarote Bay for a week and this was probably about right - everthing would have got a bit samey if staying longer.

| said: Would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to families, we had a great time. The food was great always plenty of choice, although we generally stayed outside and had lunch from snack bar, always burger, hotdogs, chips, salad, ham, cheese, bread or buns and either chicken nuggets, fish fingers or onion rings. Barbecue next to snackbar on monday and paella on friday.
Restaurant - breakfast- freshly fried eggs and pancakes, some days omelettes, somedays scrambled eggs. beans tomatoes, mushrooms, fried bread, sausages (some days lovely, other days more like hotdogs). Fresh and tinned fruit, loads of different cereals, dried fruit, yogurt, croissants and sweet breads and pastries.
In the evening there was always a joint of meat being sliced up apart from Italian night when they cooked spag bol, and carbonara fresh in that area. There was always a fish dish and other meat dishes out, often duchess potatoes which were lovely, always different veg, salads were also lovely, two choices of soups, good selection of desserts, cheese and crackers. Kids area didnt always have a great choice but that didnt matter cos kids could get food from any area.
Rooms were good size and clean, it was nice having separate sleeping area to kids. We were in block B on third floor, overlooking the park, there was a massive tree blocking our pool view. Blocks A, AB and B had the best views and were closer to bars and restaurant. Only saw 4 cockroaches, all were dead and in the grounds, apart from one which was on the third floor but also dead.
The hotel had free bus on to beach but we always walked it was only about 15 mins.
The hotel staff were excellent, all really friendly.
There were two kids club, one run by airtours which my 8 yearold went to a few times and enjoyed and also the hotels own which he also joined in with, they had a club room and also played games around the pool.
For the adults there was also games going on outside regularly, never joined in but they were often very funny to watch.
On a night it was mini disco 8-9. Between 9-10 they would play an adult game, give out certificates and play bingo. 10pm there was outside entertainment brought in 4 times a week, sometimes good sometimes not. The other days the reps would put on a show again hitty missy, but couldnt knock there enthusiasm they were brilliant with the kids and the adults.
Went on the grand tour booked through the reps, brilliant day out, saw all the sights around Lanzarote, volcanos, caves and a camel ride.
Would definitely visit this hotel again.

The food was good with a wide variety to choose from and enough selection for the kids, snackbar throughout the day was good but not alot of choice from the snackbar at night but the food was on till late.
The hotel was clean and positioned well with a free bus to and from the beach every half hour(only ten minute walk though). Resort was nice, didn't go on any trips but did visit the Aqua park which is only ten minutes walk from the hotel, worked out about £50 for the four but well worth the visit.
Would go back to this resort and hotel, staff were very good and worked hard to make our stay as enjoyable as it was. Rooms cleaned everyday except Sunday, entertainment good and lots of drinks to choose from, beer was good.

| said: The hotel was very clean and we accommodated in E Block. Our sheets and towels were changed every day except Sunday, although on talking to some of the guests in other blocks this didn't happen for them.
The food in the restaurent was excellent as was the service. There was plenty of choice at every meal both cold and hot. My only criticism is that the packed lunches were a tad boring.
The hotel staff were extremely helpful, courteous and polite. The check-in was painless and any requests were dealt with expeditiously.
Although I didn't personnaly experience all the entertainment in the hotel, it certainly catered for families and most of the children I saw were very happy. The poolside restaurent catered mainly for the children but on one of the days a paella was provided (and Sangria) which was one of the best I've ever had. There always seemed to be something going on at the poolside, so if you fancied a quiet dip you had to choose your moment.
In conclusion, an enjoyable stay (even though the weather was pants)but this hotel is definitely geared towards families, so if I did return it would be with the grandchildren.

We had a fantastic time, the staff were so friendly and couldn't do enough for us. You could join in with as many activities as you wanted or just laze around by the pool all day.
The food was much better than any all inclusive we have been on before and the kids even had more to eat than the usual chips and nuggets.
The cleaning staff were lovely and did a really good job. The rooms are a bit outdated but apparently the hotel is closing for a refurbishment in December. Having said that we had no complaints about the cleanliness.
The pool was freezeing but the kids loved it.
The kids club was fantastic - they kept the kids entertained for most of the day.
Overall we had a fantastic time and can't understand why there are any bad reviews on this hotel. We are planning to go back & take the whole family next year!

| said: The food at the Lanzarote Bay was pretty much as we expected, we have been all-inclusive before so we did know what to expect, the food was always hot and plenty of it, bearing in mind that they have to cater for many different tastes we didn't have a complaint. If you didn't want to go in for lunch there was always the snack bar serving burgers, sausages, chips, salad etc.
The hotel and the rooms were very clean with fresh towels being left every day, except Sundays.
The hotel was in a good location, far enough away from the centre to avoid noise, but close enough to walk or hop on the free bus to the beach and shops. There are a couple of bars nearby, so if you want to watch the football, rugby etc don,t worry you only have to walk about 2 minutes.
The staff at the hotel were fantastic and could not do enough for you, it was beyond belief how the entertainment staff could be so lively and happy first thing in the morning and no different last thing at night. The rest of the staff in the restaurant, bars, reception etc were also just as helpful, just a tip if you like to drink your beer out of a pint glass rather than a little plastic tumbler, take a glass with you and the staff are more than happy to fill it.
The entertainment was again pretty standard, through the day it was killer pool, archery etc. In the evening it was either a show put on by the entertainment staff or a professional show, what the shows lacked in quality was made up for with humour. The entertainment staff certainly tried their hardest with the limited facilities available.
I would definitely visit this hotel again, we had a brilliant holiday

Our room was cleaned every day and was given clean towels every day.
The Food was fantastic, there is a huge choice of various meals you can choose from, and there was a different "theme night" everyday.
The location was good, only a nice 10 min walk to the centre of Costa Teguise, and there is a free bus everyday from outside the hotel if you don't want to walk. There is also a bus service to Arreceife where all the main shops are, and it was only 1.90 euro for both of us.
The staff was excellent, they all speak and understand English and was very friendly & helpful throughout the Holiday.
The Entertainment is also great, there is something to do for everyone both young and old.
I would and 100% WILL be going back to this hotel in the near future.
Don't take on the reviews from here go yourself and you will not look back.
FANTASTIC !

The food was varied and catered for everyones tastes - even very fussy children! The all inclusive option was good value with food and drink seemingly available all hours of the day and night.
Accomodation was quite spacious with fridge and oven and free access to satelite TV. rooms cleaned daily and clean towels always provided.
Entertainment team worked hard to involve all who wanted to join in and were great with the kids. Evening cabaret was varied and could be enjoyed by both adults and children. They even managed to make bingo quite light-hearted with some audience participation.
It's less than 10 minutes walk into town and beach but curtesy bus available or taxi 2 Euros. Not much around the hotel but that's what we wanted anyway.
Xmas presents were given by Santa to all kids on Xmas day and an amzing gala Christmas dinner provided in the evening.
Highly recommend this hotel to anyone. Only downside was the pools were freezing but the weather was not too good so this didn't help the temperature.

The hotel was kept clean to a high standard my only moan was the bath was patched up with filler and looked like it was ready for the skip.
We were told the hotel is closing for a full refurbishment in november anyway. The actual location is about a 15 min walk to the main shops and bars in costa teguise.
At the back of the hotel are a couple of Nettos and restaurants which are handy. The hotel staff were always polite from the managers to the cleaners.
The entertainment staff were brill they worked from morning to night. I would visit this hotel again as it is great for families.

| said: First all inclusive for us and definately not the last! We were in B111 which was of a good size for the 3 of us with a large balcony.
The novelty of going to the bar and not paying lasted us the whole fortnight and our son made the most of the snack bar.The only complaint we have is that the airtour reps are great with the kids during the day, but do nothing with them at night except for facepainting at 5 euros a go.
Luckily the hotels own entertainment team step in with their so called hours kids disco but tend to only do 4 dances and one long winded game with them, so you have a hell of a lot of bored kids running riot untill they do the bingo at 9.30.
The show at 10pm is quite varied although the Robbie Williams tribute was good. The food is of high quality and definately something for everyone.
The green paint on the floor around the hotel and pool gets ridicuously hot to walk on so buy the kids some cheap flip flops at home as they cost us 12 euros for our son in the town.
There is hardly any shade and not many umbrellas and lots of people bought their own.P20 lotion is much cheaper in lanzarote than home and the airport and easy to get.
If you want its a good idea to stock up on medication from the chemist as antibiotics, eczema cream and asthma inhalers are all under 5 euros, much cheaper than prescription charges at home.
Apparently the hotel is closing in november for 2 weeks to be refurbished. Must admit it is a good idea although we were more than happy with the accomodation.

| said: The Lanzarote Bay is a big, noisy family-friendly place about 10 minute’s walk from the main ‘square’ in Costa Teguise.
We arrived just after midnight and were quickly given our all-inclusive wristbands and key to the room. When booking I had requested middle-floor, pool view – which was exactly what we got!
We were in Block A which is close to the bar, reception and restaurant; Block B is also good, but the rest of the blocks (C, D and E) face away from the pool, with their balconies overlooking either the side road or the tennis courts, so ask for Block A or B if a pool view is important to you.
We could also see the sea from our balcony.
The room was spacious with a double bed in the bedroom and two sofa beds in the lounge area. There was plenty of cupboard and wardrobe space, but not very many hangers in the wardrobe; luckily I had taken a load of plastic market-stall hangers with me which I left there for the next guest in the room.
The safe is in an awkward place on the floor of the wardrobe under a low shelf, so you have to get down on your hands and knees to use it (cost 44 Euros plus 5 Euros deposit for 2 weeks).
The balcony had the usual plastic table and chairs and a little bit of string tied around the railings which had, once upon a time, been a good pull-out clothes airer.
Take some washing line with you and tie it around the top of the balcony, then your towels will dry overnight. There was a little kitchen area in the apartment with a handy fridge but no cups or anything. We nicked some glasses from the bar so we could have a drink of juice or water in the night/early morning. (Buy bottled water from Netto round the corner, then refill your bottles from the drinking-water tap in the bar) There was a can of insect spray for cockroaches/ants etc under the kitchen sink, but we never had to use it! No trouble with mozzies either!
The bathroom was tiny and got steamy after a bath/shower and opening the little window created a wind tunnel in the room if you had the balcony and/or bedroom windows open! The apartments do look a little ‘tired’ but they are very clean and we saw the maintenance men painting, repairing and generally ‘patching-up’ around the whole hotel almost every day. You can hire irons, kettles and hairdryers from reception, but we didn’t need any of these things (heat in the air dries your hair and un-creases your clothes; and the only times you can’t get a hot drink are between midnight and 8am when you’re asleep anyway).
Sunbeds are usually chained up overnight and the pool cleaner unlocks them when he is good and ready, anytime between 8 and 9am, so there are crowds of people clutching towels, waiting for the ‘unlocking ceremony’ every morning from about 7.45am onwards. The blue-and-white stripy canvas beds go quickly, and any positions under/around trees are also grabbed early if there’s a bit of a heatwave!
The pool is plenty big enough, with a walk-in shallow section and a deeper part at the other end. The water was a bit cold in the mornings but very welcome in the heat of the afternoon! There is also a separate good-sized paddling pool for babies and toddlers.
The pool bar is open from 10am-6pm with snacks available from 10.30-5.30. Watch out for Raul and his flying ice-cubes – he also insisted on putting Tia Maria in my coffee! All sorts of drinks are available at the pool bar and also little tubs of ice-cream. Some days the pool snacks are just chips, salad and burgers, but some days they fire up the barbecue, which is very nice indeed and gets your appetite going with that delicious barbecue smell!
The food in the main restaurant was very good with plenty of choice for everyone, although it did get a bit repetitive after the first week. Breakfasts were good with a choice of cereals, fruit, yogurts, cold meats and cheese, bread rolls, toast and the usual bacon, eggs, beans etc. They did proper fried eggs and the chef would insist on frying you a fresh one even though there were ones he’d made earlier keeping warm on the hotplate!
The toasters are the ones where you put your bread in at one end and it comes out the other end still white until you’ve done it about three times, so always a queue for toast… Also the tea/coffee cups are all gone by about 9am and then you have to wait for Raul to bring clean ones out, and then he gets jumped on by lots of women, which he doesn’t mind at all!
Lunch was good, although often similar to the evening meals. Most days we had lunch from the pool snack bar because we couldn’t be bothered getting dry and dressed to go indoors.
Evening meals had plenty for everyone to choose from with soups, bread rolls, hot and cold main courses, meats, vegetables, chips, potatoes, vegetarian options, fruit, ice cream, cakes etc. Beer, wine and soft drinks are serve-yourself in the restaurant (keep an eye on your kids near the wine/beer taps…) The chef would always be carving something – roast beef, pork ribs etc and there were several theme nights while we there, including Canarian (our favourite – little salty potatoes with lovely mojo sauce), also Chinese, Mexican, Spanish, Italian etc.
Rafael the manager would always take the time to ask how you were, and all the staff in the restaurant, bars and reception were extremely friendly and helpful and always seemed to be very busy cleaning, sorting out etc, and all seemed very proud of their hotel! Probably the nicest staff we’ve ever had in any hotel!
Noise at night is usually just the odd few people having a late drink on the balcony or coming back from a night out –on the whole it is generally silent after about 12.30-1am.
The evening entertainment is in the family Disco Bar which is a crowded hot ‘basement’ under reception. You have to get there about 7pm to get a good seat, and woe betide you if you get someone else’s spot! It was very smoky down there, despite there being ‘No Smoking’ signs all over the place – they really need to make announcements during the evening to remind people about not smoking in the family bar.
The ‘entertainment’ consisted of a kids disco from 8-9pm, followed by the day’s certificate awards and then bingo (sometimes there would also be people with snakes/parrots charging 10 Euros to have your photo taken) The main show started at 10pm-ish and some nights it was a good professional act – ‘Robbie Williams’, ‘Three Degrees’ etc, and other nights the Hoteteur entertainment reps (Annika, Johannes, Tuila etc) would have the kids involved in Grease or a Disney show. It was fairly standard hotel stuff, we’ve seen it all before, so after the first few smoky uncomfortable evenings we didn’t bother going down.
There is also the Captains Bar upstairs (no entertainment) which is strictly adults-only after 9pm. Labbi the barman insisted on several occasions I should take my well-behaved, quiet, sensible teenagers to sit outside even though we were in a quiet corner and not causing a nuisance to anyone. There were no seats left on the outside terrace by about 8.30pm and certainly no seats in the smoky family bar downstairs after about 7.30ish, so I was a bit annoyed about this – I can understand the need for some ‘adult space’ without screaming toddlers running around, but my kids are young adults and indeed I paid adult price for them to be on the holiday in the first place! They don’t run around squealing and getting under people’s feet, and I don’t see why we should have been asked to move when another family with ever-so-slightly-older teenagers were allowed to stay put!
My main complaint about this hotel was the lack of activities for teenagers. The entire hotel revolves around the under-12s and the Airtours kids club did look really good with lots of stuff to do for that age group.
Unfortunately even my youngest was just too old for the club. There was supposed to be the Airtours ‘Escape’ teenagers club at this hotel in July/August, but it didn’t happen – all they got was the Hoteteur reps doing a quick (and largely unsupervised) game of football (in the blazing heat) or waterpolo for teenagers during the day and nothing for them in the evening. Luckily my kids made some friends and made their own entertainment (mostly playing pool, table tennis and going on the internet – all things you have to pay for) so they had a good time and were upset to go home, but I was really expecting morning-till-night activities for the whole family, not just for the little kids.
Another complaint was the morning ‘keep-fit’ session which took place about 11am in the blazing heat in front of the bar – I’m sure Tuila would have had more takers for this activity if it had been aqua-aerobics in the pool!
Kirsty, the Airtours rep was great, worked really hard and was very friendly, she always had time for a chat to find out what you’d been up to around the resort/island and she was there most days for 2 hours in the morning and 2 hours at teatime. On the days she wasn’t there you could contact her by phone and Neil, the Airtours rep from our coach transfer, would pop in now and again too.
There was also Claire the ‘suncare consultant’, at the hotel, although she often seemed more interested in promoting her own American brand of very expensive Aloe-Vera products. One or two people got quite sunburnt and she would sell them her ‘recovery gel’ rather than advising them to get to the clinic or chemist for proper medical help. I got a bit of prickly heat, but I went straight to the chemist for some hydrocortisone steroid ointment and antihistamines which cleared it up very quickly for a fraction of the cost of the products at the hotel!
Incidentally, Lanzarote is all about Aloe Vera, you will find Aloe Vera products in all the local shops, but if you just want quick relief from slight minor sunburn there are Aloe Vera plants all over the place, just break off a leaf, open it up and rub the green jelly stuff inside onto your skin! Obviously for more severe skin problems you should go straight to the chemist or doctors.
One tip – don’t book this hotel with Cosmos! We met some nice people there who had booked with Cosmos and they never saw their rep for the whole 2 weeks (apart from the welcome meeting of course) They didn’t even get a rep on their coach back to the airport, which arrived 20 minutes late with a grumpy driver who just grunted “Cosmos?” at them… Apparently Cosmos only have 2 reps on the whole island! JMC also take bookings for this hotel but I only saw their rep a couple of times. Best to book with Airtours/MyTravel/Direct Holidays/Panorama – their reps have a strong presence in the hotel and they will see you on and off the coaches at the airport/hotel both there and back.
The excursions sold by Airtours are quite expensive, but some of them looked good and seemed popular. I already knew from last year which excursions I wanted and Airtours didn’t do what I wanted, so I booked them independently with Lutons Travel (also Last Minute – find their leaflets under rocks all over the resort). They picked us up from the Playa Bastian bus stop just outside the hotel’s tennis courts around the back of the hotel.
There is not much going on in the immediate area around the hotel – there are a few shops and bars, but for better shopping you need to get down to the Cucharas centre. The hotel does a FREE bus every 30 minutes to the Cucharas beach – take a towel, plenty of suncream and go and watch the windsurfers at the Las Cucharas and Los Charcos beaches. From the road at the bottom of the hotel you can walk to the Playa Bastian beach – not brilliant, but as you get to the Playa Bastian beach, go left and follow the promenade round to the tiny Jabillo beach, beautiful blue waters, golden sand, ideal for snorkelling and fishing.
For a night out away from the hotel get down to ‘the square’, lots of good bars and restaurants with a good atmosphere. There are a few bars/restaurants near the hotel but they were pretty quiet and I couldn’t help feeling sorry for their owners opening up every night for just a handful of customers.
On the whole we had a great holiday – I’m suffering terribly with post-holiday-depression at the moment and would go back tomorrow, although with my older kids I would probably choose somewhere closer to the ‘square’ or consider Puerto del Carmen instead BUT I would DEFINITELY RECOMMEND the Lanzarote Bay for families with younger children – plenty to keep the little’uns busy, good food, clean rooms, lovely staff and overall well worth the money.
We booked with Direct Holidays 15 months in advance and saved about £600 compared to the Airtours brochure price! We were there from 28th July until 11th August – so hello to anyone else who was there then!

| said: Before we went away we read the reviews about Lanzarote Bay on this website and with what we read we didn't think it was going to be very nice.
However, we were extremely surprised when we arrived to find how lovely the hotel was! The reception staff aren't the happiest of people but you don't have to associate with them too much!
We found our rooms easily and were pleased to see that the rooms were tidy and were in good condition. The maid service was excellent and the rooms were cleaned 6 times a week.
The food was excellent and there was always plenty of variety, there was even a seperate section for the kids!
The pool area was lovely and you don't need to get up too early for a sunbed only if u want a stripy blue one! However we found that the white ones were just as comfortable and there are plenty of them!
The pool bar was excellent and there was plenty of food and ice cream available all day. The play area is brilliant for young children and as it is shaded they can play in there for hours!
The entertainment was good and the team work hard all day and throughout the evening!
I didn't want to come home and would love to go back!!

Only problem is the entertainment area down the stairs. Also the cockroaches!!! They are massive, we were on the 2nd floor and we still had them. The nice lady on reception gave us spray to use and they were gone but you should know, they can climb the walls. My husband put his shirt on and one fell out of it and as you can imagine I nearly had heart failure but apart from that we had a good time.
We wouldn`t go back there, nothing wrong with the accomodation but the weather was a bit rubbish(I like wall to wall sunshine).

| said: We have recently returned from our holidays at the Lanzarote Bay and, although we had a good holiday were not too impressed with the hotel.
The hotel was not very clean at all. Spilt drinks & vomit could be seen around the pool area and this would only be cleaned several days later.
The rooms were very basic and our bathroom was very dirty, black round the bath and filth stuck in the overflows on the sink and bidet. Nasty !!! Our terrace was also filthy.
A word of warning, if you are in a ground floor apartment, beware of the cockroaches. We lost count of how many we had to kill. A helpful tip though, which we picked up from every other ground floor apartment was to put a towel outside to cover the gap in the bottom of the door.
Food was OK, however, even though there was a children's buffet my two children ate hardly anything. My 6yr old son lived off cucumber and ice creams and my 2yr old daughter lived off hot dog sausages and ice cream.
The entertainment was probably the best part of the holiday. The children are kept very happy day and night. (Beware if you have children under 4, not much for this age group). We watched a couple of professional acts which were very good, however, after two weeks we were a little sick of watching the entertainment team shows. Lots of activities during the day for both adults and children.
Another little tip, if you want sunbeds around the pool then get up and queue no later than 8.00am.
This was our first all inclusive holiday, and I have to admit that if all hotels are like this then I will not be going all inclusive again.
I would not go back to this hotel again.

It is true about the state of the accommodation - it desperately needs updating and having air conditioning would be a bonus as the rooms don't have it. However the apartments were adequate and very clean with maid service 6 days a week.
The hot water soon runs out in the shower so if you're the 4th in - like me- then it's a cold shower, I'm afraid.
Also mad scramble for the sunbeds @ 8:45 if you want a blue/white striped comfy one. Sunbed reservations by your towels is essential even though the hotel say they don't accept the practise they do nothing to stop it.
We found the food excellent. Beatifully cooked, well presented and plenty of choice. Different menu each night and ALWAYS something for the kids to eat.
Yes the food on offer at the poolside bar is basic but go inside for a full lunch then, in the restaurant!
The entertainment was superb and although the last two English entertainment reps both left whilst we were there (and both Dale & Vanessa are sadly missed!) the Swedish & Finish reps are good - especially Liisa who is gorgeous!
Watch out for Raul at the poolside bar who is deadly with an ice cube from 40 metres!
All in all we were pleasantly surprised and if some parents would keep their children in check a bit more, rather than being intent on drinking as much as possible, then the holiday would have been more enjoyable.
My children loved it, they made many friends, as did we.

| said: Booked this holiday as a last minute deal, the hotel is spotless, food plentiful and deserts to die for, the restaurant has theme nights, i.e Spanish, Mexican as well as all the usual.
Every night there is a chef carving a joint of some sort, snacks by the pool bar, once a week they put a barbecue on.
Rooms are clean, the maids do an excellent job and work into the evening. The hotel staff are very friendly and helpful. Entertainment is ok, the reps work hard and their shows are brill, Dale and Vanessa are a credit to the hotel, although I have been informed that they have both left for other jobs, (shame).
The only downside I think for families is the entertainment is down a spiral staircase which I think can be quite dangerous and a pain if you have a buggy.
Picnic made up for you if your going out and free bus to the beach, Lee-Ann the Airtours rep was marvellous and so helpful, shes leaving to have a baby, so good luck to her.
Adults only bar upstairs for you to escape to, bar staff very friendly and cocktails are included in the all inclusive.
I would recommend this hotel and would definately go back.

| said: Well worth going all inclusive, kids can get drinks as often as they want & also ice creams. There is also plenty of choice when it comes to meal times.
There is breakfast, lunch and evening meal so you will never go hungry. If you go out on trips they will gladly make you a picnic up for free. Staff are always clearing the tables up, and will always help as much as they can. Beer and spirits are flowing from 10am if that’s what you want. There is also snacks from the poolside bar from 10am all be it a small selection.
There was a bus daily that will take you to the local beach a 3 min ride away.
Entertainment every night and done on 14 day cycle so you won't see the same show twice.

One tip take your own pint glass with you as you only get a very small glass so you have to keep going to the bar.
Also no beer or cider!!
I would only go back to this hotel if it was a bargain price.
