Bad Bad News.Having stayed in Celeste 15+ times. And even lauded it on this forum. Had really unpleasant stay this time. Juani the Brilliant Manager has left.
With the new manager , you wont get the room you order. Would not let us book extended stay on our room. Offered us a 'Complimentry' room to change. Which was disgraceful. We could not and would not use it to shower. it spoilt the last day of our holiday.
Have complained at the time and twice by e-mail and so far no response.

We stayed in Block 1, in a ground floor apartment, they are cleaned regulary and have everthing needed for a self catering holiday (Kettle, Toaster, Microwave) they even leave cloths for cleaning a wasing up liquid. The terraces have a gate so my little boy could play without worries of ecaping. We also had room for sun loungers. Each block had a gate which was kept locked, so felt secure and were within walkin distance of beach and restraunts. We spent a lot of time in Bar Bex which is located under block 2, they serve really nice food, are friendly and make you feel really welcome. They serve food out onto the terrace of block 2. They only down point is the pools they are very deep and not child friendly. All in all i would recommend these apartments to friends and family and are hoping to return soon.

My Mum and I recently stayed at the Celeste Apartments and were very impressed will the 2star apartments. We had number 310 which is in block 3 in a quiet location. Our apartment was very clean and spacious, we had a nice terrace with enough room for two sunloungers and a further small terrace from the bedroom. It was well equiped with a TV, microwave, toaster, kettle, even washing up liquid which I've never had before!
There is a Netto supermarket over the road for any food you may need and also a great bar downstairs called The Black Bull which does great food and a nice place for a nightcap on your way back after dinner.
The apartments are a short walk away from the main square, all the restaurants and both main beaches.
My only criticism would be the pools. They are all deep and for anyone who can't swim or is short are not ideal. My Mum fits this bill!
I would def. return to these apartments but would request a first floor room at the back of one of the blocks as I would imagine to rooms at the front, on the main road may suffer from the noise of the bars downstairs.

I think that Celeste apartments is the perfect place for families. It has 3 swimming pools. In the apartments there is 1 bathroom, a kithen, a living room, 1 doulbe bedroom and 1 bedroom with 2 single beds. There is a kettle, a toaster and 1 wadrobe in both rooms. All these things are in the 2 bedroomed apartments.

We traveled to the Celeste on a family holiday, requiring a one bedroom apartment and a two bed apartment, before we traveled here I e-mailed them to ask if it was possible for one of the apartments to be ground floor as we were traveling with a disabled child who has walking difficulties, received an almost instant reply, to say that they would make sure that one of the apartments will be ground floor.

On arrival we were actually given two 2 bed apartments both on the ground floor next to each other in block 1.
The apartments were clean, spacious and had everything that was required for a self catering holiday the only, the only thing was that the hob was just 2 rings and we really could of done with a 4 ring hob and also a dining table and chair rather then a breakfast bar with 3 stools, as we tend to eat in rather then out.

The 2 bedrooms were really spacious with twin beds, and loads space for hanging and storing clothes.

Linen was changed on a regular basis as were the towels.
The staff were extremely friendly and could not do enough for you.
The only downside to these apartments is the swimming pools as already mentioned in previous reviews, we had 5 children with us ages 10, 8, 5, 4 and an infant and the pools were no good for them as they were just to deep.
I would go back to the Celeste but when the younger children are older.

Stayed in a 1 bedroom apartment. They are cleaned on a regular basis and towels were changed often. The facilities for self-catering were adequate (included kettle, hurray!). The complex has 2 pools, both of which are small- and relaxing around the pools is restricted, but acceptable. There is an on-site cafe/bar which serves basic but good quality breakfasts and day-time meals. The security is quite good, as gates into the apartments are locked throughout the day/night. (Make sure you have the key at all times as during the night there's no-one about to let you in !!!).Apartments are well placed for all the facilities - food & drinks.

Arrived during November half-term holidays. Half-hour from airport. Reception staff very helpful. Our apartments up steps. Spacious and very clean, with large terrace. No noise heard from town. Bars and resturaunts in easy walking distance in all directions! Plenty of places to eat. Beach nearby. Excellent water park 5 minute drive from apartments. Only thing that we were disappointed with was although there were three pools, they were all too deep for our 7-year-old son, who cannot yet swim. But over all the trip was excellent!!

large but basic rooms-good size balcony and a further two smaller balconies outside each bedroom. we got a room on the second floor and were glad of this. Beds were hard as rocks and doors didnt close properly so blew all night if it was windy but apart from this everything was fine. staff were very nice and helpful. pool was ok but very cold brrrr-would definitely reccomend to young families but not with babies/toddlers as the pool is quite deep. would return if the beds were softer

We have just returned from a week at the Celeste apartments, they were excellent, we had 2 bed apartment both of which had a sun terrace as well as the main one.

Very well equipped with microwave kettle and toaster, we were in apartment 130 which was over the pool. These apartments have a security gate which all apartments have keys to access 24hours as the reception closes at 9pm.

These apartments are ideally situated next to the market square where several nice restaurants are and is only a 5 min walk from the beach, there is two supermarkets again 5 min walk away and a bus stop outside which takes you to other resorts.

I will definitely be staying at the Celeste again, I have stayed at four other apartments but this was by far the best.

We stayed in room 213 and the apartment was great. Equipped well and everything clean and tidy. We were in a section on our own which was quiet - maybe not so much in the busier seasons. The pool was great for us and the surrounding area and gardens were well looked after. Again it would probably be rather crowded at other times. Staff were helpful when we requested extra pillows and information . Would return and recommend to others. Great value for money and well situated next to the square and nicer restaurants.

Ideal location central for everyhing but not very clean had to move rooms due to a major problem with the room been riddled with ants. Walls crumbling with damp fridge, broken bedroom door that would not shut and windows that blew open with the breeze. Second apartment slightly cleaner but was in block one which was right across the main road from what was probably the only nightclub in Teguise and loud music every night till at least four am if not later especially at weekends.

All in all I would not stay at these apartments again unless they have a major overhaul.

All I will say is that the reception staff were very helpful and friendly and nothing was too much trouble for them.

We arrived at the Celeste at 2pm was greeted by friendly hotel staff.

Our room was clean and tidy but basic but you get what you pay for and as for cleaning the maid came everyday to clean the apartment(except Sundays) and they changed the bed sheets once a week.

We stayed in room 107 and yes we did get a big big key for the security gates which is no different from a normal key why that seems to be a problem with some people one will never know!!

Overall good basic apartments friendly staff would definitely recommend and I am definitely going to return.

I have recently come back from staying at the Celeste Apartments with three other adults and have to say how disappointed I was. We got there around 9.00pm was greeted by a very helpful lady on reception, given only a one page welcome leaflet and a big gate key. As soon as we entered our apartment there was a horrid nasty smell in one of the bedrooms, the wood in the kitchen was rotten and the rest of the apartment smelt damp, we complained and they said they could move us but not until the next morning, that night we moved the beds from the bedroom into the living room because it was that bad.

The next morning as promised they moved us into the next block, the apartment this time was much better and there was no smell, we then started to enjoy our holiday.

I would not go back to these apartments, I couldn't fault the location we had a sea view and the pubs and restaurants were right on the doorstep but the apartments lacked atmosphere, the white paint was coming away and pools were tiny and dirty. I didn't swim the whole time I was there, the maids came once in one week and all they did was make the bed we didn't even have fresh bed linen.

I wouldn't go back to these apartments, if your in a group of girls or boys and you are there just for a good time and don't mind then this place is ideal but it's not for families with small children, if it was a little bit cleaner and the pools were clean and the room was cleaned every other day I would go back definitely.

I would have to say that you will be very unlikely to find a hotel which will satisfy your stay at Costa Teguise any better than the Celeste apartments. The ideal place to spend your holiday, literally 5 minutes walk to the beach and restaurants. However, being away from the noise and chaos, it had a very relaxed and peaceful atmosphere!

I found the apartment staff to be very friendly and happy to help and yes, the cleaning standards were wonderful. I loved the quaint village-style of the Celeste apartments and if anything, it was staying here that was one of the best parts of our holiday, considering we went in February so the weather wasn't always reliable!

No entertainment but certainly accessible to other places so that wasn't a problem at all. If I visit the resort again in the future I will definitely choose to stay here!

After reading the reviews I was apprehensive, the location is fab the pool is very small and I would'nt recommend these apartments if you have small children. This is an ideal base if you like to be near the shops and beach, waterpark 10 mins (if that) away in taxi.

Towels changed every 4 days maids came every day quick sweep round and wipe in the bathroom (apart from Sundays). However bedding only changed once in 2 weeks!! Be warned the beds are very very hard!!!

Did'nt see any cockroaches in the room at all. (think the local cats ate them all!!!)

You get a gate key and believe me there are some people out there who can't shut a gate quitely.

Think it depends on who is staying at the apartments as to whether its for you or not. I.E if you get a group of singles arriving and you want a nice family holiday they may keep you awake at night!!!! Especially when they come through that gate and start jumping in the pool at 6 in the morning!!

You can get your breakfast at the Highlander which is lovely and they are really friendly there.

Would I stay at the Celeste again. Then I am afraid no, but you do get what you pay for. Hope this review helps.

Me and my family stayed at the Celeste apartments in Costa Teguise. Although it seemed nice and clean on the night we arrived as the week went on we noticed that it wasn't clean at all.

The pool was cleaned once only as we complained. Before it being cleaned the two family members who had swam in the pool both had ear infections, we think was caught from the pool.

We stayed in 226, this apartment is supposed to sleep six, how this was possible I do not know.

Costa Teguise is very quiet and there is not alot to do. We do recommend the tuckers tavern pub directly across the road from Celeste, they had excellent entertainment and were very friendly and a good night out.

We will not be returning to Celeste Apartments or Costa Teguise.

We arrived at the Celeste apartments and our initial thoughts were that it looked very nice, the beach was near by and the restaurants were good value for the money we paid.

The hotel was quite clean but the rooms were damp and needed modenising, the staff were friendly and did everything they could to help, there wasn't any entertainment provided, but we had taken a pack of cards so we had plenty to do.

The hotel was split into 3 sections and we had to carry a key to get into our section, they were locked with gates.

The pool was nice but very cold and quite small. The resort was very lovely and we enjoyedlaying on the clean, safe beach.

We would not stay in the apartments again but we would go back to Costa Teguise.

We had a 2 week family holiday from the last week in April through the first week in May. We arrived late evening and were helped to our room by the hotel reception staff.

We found our 2 bedroom apartment ample for our family of 5 with good storage space. The rooms were clean and had everything you need for self catering.

Reception closes at 10pm so if you want a safety deposit box and arrive late, get one when you get your room key or you will have to wait for the next day. The deposit boxes are in reception and during the weekend reception closes at 8pm and also for lunch so make sure you get enough money out.

The pool is to deep for small children to stand so don't forget their arm bands. Inflatable are banned but we used ours and nobody complained. The pool area is a bit small and could be cleaner.

You can also rent items such as TV and DVD players from reception, there is a long list of stuff if you want to hire it.

Trips run by the tour operator are expensive and can be found much cheaper locally.

We loved the resort. A good stretch of main beach and a small cove that is excellent for diving, the fish just swim into your hands. Be wary of the wind, it cools you down and you burn very easy.

A great selection of places to eat, Tex Mex, English, Italian, Chinese Etc. kids meals are about 3-4 euros and a good steak about 10 euros. We ate out most nights costing around 40-60 euros including wine, beer and soft drinks. Most places do breakfast for 3-4 euros and there are some great take out chicken places.

We hired a car for £100 the week at a local car hire company including insurance and tax. Some great places to see but buy a good map and be warned roads are at best mad.
Yes we would go back to this hotel again.

Arrived at the Celeste at 9.30 in the evening after being shown the direction of our room, we found all the other apartment doors open we then realized we where the only people staying in that block. Our room, 121, seemed ok but there was an awful smell. Next day in daylight you could see the pool was filthy it had foot prints at the bottom in the dirt, no-one cleaned it during our stay.

The cleaner’s hygiene was awful the water in the mop bucket was filthy so if you walked around the apartment in your bare feet they ended up black. The bedroom was never mopped all week or brushed.

We sat by the pool on one occasion and the painters arrived to spray paint the brick work so we had to sit on our balcony, but the smell of paint all day was awful so we had to go out until they had finished. After 3 days other holiday makers arrived but they also had a list of complaints after being there only 30 mins.

The noise does echo around the block so if you had small children it would be a problem.

The town itself was great so my next visit will be at another complex.

When we arrived at the Celeste apartments they were very damp and even had mold growing on the walls, the location, however was fantastic and you could not get any closer to the beach.

The reception staff were friendly but the maids spoke very little English. I took my two children and I begrudged making them sleep in a room that was damp. We stayed on a self catering basis but if all inclusive was a choice I would not choose it, Knowing this hotel it would probably be disgusting.

There was no entertainment at night but the local restaurants catered for our needs.

I would probably not go to this hotel again but would stay near by.

We'd previously stayed in the 'three star' Galeon Playa apartments and were hesitant about the late deal on this 'two star' apartment. We were right...

We'd booked a two bedroom apartment which, apparently, sleeps six adults. Well, unless one of these adults can sleep standing up it remains a mystery where they're all meant to go! There are four single beds and a 'sofa' in the lounge that I can fill by lying down.

We arrived after midnight and were greeted with a meaningless welcome pack and a list of the items that we'd be able to hire from reception. This included a toaster, kettle, iron, televison - you get the idea. I worked out that you could easily spend another £100 per week if you hired most items. This frustrates me considering what we have to pay and the relative discomfort that we put ourselves through.

We were in number 129: a ground floor apartment near the pool. It had a walled patio area but we felt a bit conspicious being out there as everyone coming into the block passed us. It was at least a good dumping ground.

Here are the problem areas, in my view:

1. Water pressure and temperature. Don't expect a nice shower whilst you stay because there's little pressure and the water runs cold very quickly. The block must have a common system that various apartments share - shower early to avoid disappointment!

2. Noise. I know you can't really control this but it frustrated me. Our children were kept awake most nights as other people talked loudly outside until around 2am - 3am. There was often music which echoed around the block too. It's mainly down to the fact that the patio areas encourage some to sit outside and party the night away. If you want an early night then you could be disappointed unless you request a quiet apartment. Friends of ours had 122 - a very nice unit around a corner and away from the main area. This would be better for anyone that is a light sleeper - we heard most people coming in through the main gate and past our apartment. You'll also hear lots of noise from next door or above / below. The floors are tiled and the furniture is wooden so you'll hear scraping on the floor which is very loud at times. Any music etc will come through the walls if it's fairly loud. Pray for good elderly neighbours - we had them in the second week and it was heaven!

3. Ground floor apartments. If you can, request a first floor apartment as these have nicer views and more space - they also offer better security. You couldn't sleep with the windows open on a ground floor apartment which made the humid nights uncomfortable.

4. The pool was OK - but only OK. It's 1.85 metres at it's deepest and 1.10 metres at it's shallowest. Younger children would definitely need to be supervised.

5. Location (in respect to the beach). The walk to the Las Cucharas beach takes about 5 minutes. The main Teguise Playa (where there's a smaller, quieter beach) takes about 10-15 minutes.

Here are a few positive comments:

1. It was clean. The staff came in every other day and cleaned the floors etc. Bed linen was provided once a week and the beds were made up if necessary when the cleaners came in. They obviously worked very hard.

2. Supermarkets. There are four 'supermarkets' nearby - but don't expect a SavaCentre... One very small unit is attached to the apartments (on the front) whilst it's a five minute walk to Spar, Netto and a local store. It was never a problem to fetch provisions.

3. Security. The three separate blocks of apartments are accessed via a locked gate. However, ours was sometimes wedged open although not generally at night, which is reassuring.

4. As we had an 8.30pm pick-up we were able to leave our bags downstairs in the basement of reception. We could spend the whole day on the beach / have a meal without the cases. There are two shower rooms downstairs too so that you can change before the coach arrives. However, don't expect to have warm water - it's freezing cold.

Now the crunch question - would I go there again?

No. I felt that it was a poor return on the investment - it could have had better facilities.

The pool areas were beautiful.

Although I have read many other reviews on these apartments, everybody seems to give bad reports of these but this was definitely not the case for us.

Apparantly there were supposed to be large cockroaches everywhere, as we went in the hottest month of the year, we did not see one cockroach in our apartment. We saw a few on the ground outside but that was it.

Only good things were the pub nearby(cheers) and the friends we made (the waltons from ireland)

Would not go back if i was offered a free holiday and enough cockroach spray to rid the entire planet of those nasty little creatures!!!!!!!!!
