| said: The apartments were very shabby, not all it would appear. Ones at main pool area with sea view looked very good, perhaps they had been recently refurbished, ones at back of complex where we were are shabby.
Cracked floor tiles, holes in curtains, dampness on walls, first night my bed felt damp, hot showers were a hit or a miss.
Towels we were given had holes in them, we were led to believe this was a three star accommodation, but on wall of complex it said two and I suppose people would say you get what you pay for, but £630 for two people for one week not a good deal.
Just say though girl at reception was very friendly and most helpful and the pools were cleaned every day, rooms were cleaned twice a week just a basic clean, beds changed once during our weeks stay, towels twice still had holes in them, but due to poor quality of furniture and furnishings apartment always looked dingy.
Reason we went for this was because near the beaches and shops, you have to hire toaster, kettle, TV, in fact almost everything, not what I am used to but if all you are looking for is a place to sleep then this might do you.

Really central to every thing, bars and restaurants!!
The pool and the poolside was clean. The food not too good but theres lots of fantastic restaurants nearby.
clean towels twice in the week.
Hot water for a shower, even a bath!
The reception staff all speak good english and are really helpful.
We would definitely go back. I really dont understand why some people have given it bad reviews.

| said: We stayed as part of a group of 8 at Punto Jabillo for 1 week over New Year. Firsty, I would say that we had a super holiday, the resort is lovely and there is plenty of choices for eating and entertainment nearby. The accomodation is ok, a little bit rough round the edges. Also, when you book self-catering you really should get a kettle and toaster included and not have to pay for them.
However, we booked this because it appeared to be central for nightlife and beaches etc. We had no intention of eating breakfast or dinner there and so cannot really comment on the food. We did buy lunch a few times from the pool side bar and it was run-of-the-mill stuff, hot dogs, burgers etc but ok for that time of day. The apartment I was in was ground floor and pool facing and I have no real complaints about it as we really only used it for sleeping in.
The pool was just too cold for swimming, which disappointed my two daughters aged 7 and 11. However, this is due presumably to the time of year and the fact that the sun could not heat it like it would in the summer. There is a beach nearby and we went there a few times and went in the sea which was not as cold as the pool.
The nightlife at the hotel was non-existent but when you have so many other bars and restaurants close by then this is not a problem. There was a daytime activity itinery in the reception but none of the scheduled events seemed to take place, again I assume because of the time of year.
To sum up:
1) If you want a holiday where your apartments are just a place for sleeping in, sitting on your balcony or sitting by the pool, then Punto Jabillo is absolutely fine. If we go back to Costa Teguise, we would use these apartments again.
2) If you want a holiday where you want to eat there and spend most of your days and nights there, this is not for you - although I can only comment for this time of year, maybe the summer is better.

| said: I would just like to say on behalf of Myself, Partner, our 8 and 2 year olds. We have stayed twice this year in these apartments. In the summer and at Christmas. And fell in Love with the resort Costa Teguise.
I have read the reviews, on Punta Jabillio which always seem very mixed. In the summer, we read the reviews and became very nervous before we went away. As some of the comments we quiet bad.
These are apartments were the first to be built on the resort and are graded 2 keys i.e. basic, low budget.I don't believe these appartments have ever been more than a 2/3key.
You can pay anything up to £1,200 SC per week for a family of 4. This I believe is reasonable for Lazarote, as the weather is mainly good all year round.
If you are expecting more, this accommodation is not for you. Upgrade to a three key + and pay more.
My review is although the accommodation is basic. It's in the heart of Costa Teguise and over looking the sea, the beach is a stroll away. If you are lucky enough to get a pool/ sea view appartment. Then the views are quite breath taking.
My recommendation is don't go BB or HB. As the selection of food in the restaurant is very limited. There are so many bars and restaurants in Teguise catering very cheaply and are all family friendly.
If you didn’t want to go out every evening, then there are few supermarkets, close by.
There are cock crochets every where. That’s the med for you. If you have a ground floor apartment like we did in June, you can incur some bug problems. Which we over came by just putting a towel on the floor up against the door crack. Then they couldn’t get in.
The cleaners do come in three times a week and clean the room, floors and bins with detox. The bedding is changed once and towels twice a week.
I recommend you ask for a first or top floor apartment, before you go, if you feel uneasy. Even if you do have children. We stayed on the top floor this Christmas and had no problems, with any bugs and the weather was in the 80s.
The staff is very friendly and accommodate you straight away. There is some entertainment at the resort, provided by an animation team, there is a board up in reception showing the daily activities. There is some entertainment going on selective evenings. In the lounge bar i.e. bingo, quiz’s and mini disco's.
The pool could do with tarting up. As shallow end is paint pealing. But then this is been used all year round. The bins around the resort are only changed, twice a week. So try not to use them. We just took our rubbish to bins outside along the walk way.
We are going back to Jabillio in July 08 and Dec 08, as we don't believe the accommodation is that bad. It is so ideal for our needs. It's some where to lay ours head and enjoy what else is on offer around Costa Teguise and Lanzarote!
So to all you with so much money, living in palaces. Leave well alone. We don't want you there complaining.

| said: Well, apart from being delayed for 24 hours which wasn't a good start to the holiday, I was concerned with the reviews I had read on the apartments/hotel.
I was staying half board - Bed, breakfast and evening meal.
I will start with the location of the hotel - it was a 2min walk to shops and entertainment - 1min walk to a beach(5mins to a larger beach with windsurfing facilities) - right beside the Occidental Playa Teguise.
Cleanliness and Room - The hotel looked clean and smelt clean - the room was a bit dated but comforting - The bath in the room must of been damaged at one stage and had been filled in -we encountered one cockroach and lots of ants - We where supposed to get the room cleaned 5 times a week and got them done once, but it was fine I have live in a student flat for years so was used to mess. We had a pool view which made it all the better. All rooms have a balcony.
Food - Well here is where the hotel beings to fall and loose points.
Breakfast - choice of cereals - hard bread - yogurt - Cold cooked food - greasy fried eggs - fried cold frankfurters(YUK) - left overs from dinner(such as if they had left over ham the would make a triangle ham, cheese, pineapple sandwich thing) - streaky bacon, fried tin mushrooms, fried tomatoes with cheese on top. That was it, no variety no fresh fruit, just mouldy rotten apples and pears, I don't think this place knew about stock rotation. Breakfast was served from 8am to 10am. My advise is to go for 8am as there is a chance the food is warm.
Dinner- This was just a big let down, but i must say we did still eat the food, didn't feel ill, it was just not very imaginative nor appetising. There was no variation, everything was bland, although one night they did cook lovely fish some sort of white fish and chucky potato wedges. They did lack in labelling their food - to what a certain dish was. And again the triangle cheese ham pineapple things.
Entertainment / bar - Well there was a bar(I don't drink so had no call to use this) but what I noticed there was not many people ever at it. It closed at 11pm. They played music up until a certain time during the day very quietly, if you where at the poolside you could barely hear it, and it was the same crappy songs over and over again, if you are a fan of grease well you will love it. Apart from that there was no entertainment at all.
We had to use neighbouring Playa Teguise Hotel for watching shows. Make sure if you are going to stay at Punta to bring an ipod/psp/DVD player. Also there is a charge to use the TV in the room 2euro for 2hours.
To wrap it up I really enjoyed my holiday at Punta Jablillo - It may not suit those who are used to their holidays in a 4/5 star hotel. this is a basic place, which is in an excellent location. Which makes it all the better.
This is a very honest review I have not over exaggerated anything, I have told it as it is. I will sum it up if you are a snob/posh person then stay away - go to the Occidental.

I would highly recommend people stay here, but I will say i'm not sure i'd take my kids there. There is no bar on site (except for the daytime pool bar) and there is no on-site entertainment. The kids might get bored.

It felt a bit like a ghost town, as so quiet, but gradually filled up.
Fantastic location. Right in centre, but not noisy.
Excellent sea views. Lovely pool area, plenty sunbeds.
No entertainment at all, for kids or adults.
Luckily our kids were happy to play in the pools.
Bit odd that you had to hire a kettle, microwave etc if you wanted them. Actually cheaper to buy a kettle for about 11 euros.
Pool bar nice, but food a bit chips & pizza type during day, OK if you want that.
Did not use the restaurant.
Sheets only changed once a week, towels twice a week.

| said: Let's face it it's peanuts for a quick early off season break, weather is excellent, apartments are good and well looked after by the underpaid staff which do a damn good job to keep the boat afloat.
The pool is good, well looked after and checked every morning and evening.
The restaurant selection is repetitive and recycling of food is rife, excessive use of salt and garlic in most things and the smell of fish is a little off putting and the curry powder shortage is evident in the chicken and pork curried soup.
The entertainment side needs a cash injection, the pool table has had it. It needs balls with no dents and a table with cloth and cushions and no run out, a dart board which hasn't swelled up, and boules which there is a full set of. The games side of this operation needs a clean sweep and a good cash injection,
The entertainment staff try there hardest but the obvious lack of funds and commitment by the owners and lack of communication from the management shines through time and time again really lets it down. Adult entertainment is good from the resident entertainers but that's if they can be bothered. But the snake show, parrot show rip off management backhander as it seems, more money from lucky lucky photos than the 10 minute trick it is.
Overall it's not the people who work here that is the problem it needs a little investment to bring it back onto top notch for what is expected. For the money it's a cheap and cheery conveyer belt holiday.

| said: The Reception area is in need of refurbishment. The whole area looks 'tired'. You are not made aware that you have to hire kettles etc. Our flight was delayed from UK therefore got to resort approx 3hrs later that we should have - had to go out and get something to eat as Restaurant closed. As we were allocated on arrival - were extremley disheartend as we turned into hotel - and being dark with no lights on sign - all we saw at first was Occidental Playa next door! So disappointing.
The hotel apartment was clean - bath very stained and looked dirty - did get a little warm water for a shower. Kitchen cupboards, breakfast bar dropping to bits! Towels in bathroom were very old and looked/smelt as though they could have done with a further wash. Were not changed in the 7days we were there. Did find a cockroach in the bathroom 1 night but apart from that never found anything else in the room. Electrics a bit dicey!!
The food was good - basic but hot and temperature being checked regularly. Never tried the snacks - had enough durng mealtimes. Wish they did not use plastic cups for tea/coffee outside restaurant times.
The location is excellent - right next to shops and sea views. Pool areas were clean and maintained daily.
The staff were friendly and worked extremely hard during the 7 days we were there - could not fault them.
Lounge bar very dated - takes you right back to the old Working Mens Clubs (bad ones at that)! There are no areas for adults who go without children to have a drink in the evenings - entertainment very poor for adults but seemed to cater for children. Had to go out everynight which defeated going on an AI holiday.
Would not use this hotel again.

| said: Do not belive Thomas Cooks star ratings. We booked 3 star accommodation but as the rep says we were 3 suns ?? and we should have checked the brochure before we left, the fact we were allocation on arrival did not worry him and squarely blamed our travel agents for misleading us.
During the week we met people from all over u.k. who told the same story. Thomas cook advertise this on the web as 3 stars ???. Thomas crook more like. The bath was poorly repaired in four places but this was the only fault in the appartments.
Previous comment about the main hall being like a 1960's working mens club is spot on and if you do not want (or can not get in )to stay in that hall the only alternative is to return to your room, which we did on 5 nights.
The food for the first 4 days was very poor but they must listen as a thermometer appeared and the quaulity of the food improved 10 fold. Nice pool area and as usual the staff worked their hinds off.

Overall very disappointed will never return there

| said: Before we went we read the reviews on the hotel but still kept an open mind but the hotel is everything the reviews say.
When we arrived mid afternoon with my family we were all gobsmacked, the reception area was just a litte counter with a pool table next to it, the room was like a room you see in a run down butlins, very basic two bedrooms which you can`t move in, the bathroom has 1 dim light which is over the mirror.
My wife had a shower which ran cold after 5 mins, there was paint flaking off the walls everywhere, the patio doors didn`t close properly, the water in the kitchen took an eternity to come out of the taps, you had to pay for the t.v aswell.
The dining area was appauling the food was cold & not much variety, the snack bar consisted of cold onion rings, some cold fish balls & a plate of onions to go with the burgers which was the only hot food they seem to do.
The pools looked ok but we never went in them. We spoke to other families who said the same. When we spoke to the rep he didn`t sound surprised he said we could upgrade to a 4* but it wouldn` be till the following day so we went out for proper food & the following afternoon upgradade to the barcelo but had to pay for 2 rooms at a cost of £700 but I couldn`t stay in the Punto any longer so I payed the extra.
The next day 3 other families wewr moved to our hotel so together we filled out complaint forms to get back what we had to pay to get proper accomodation.
My advise to anyone who is offered the punto as accomodation is TO SAY NO you will waste a lot of money & be very dissapointed.

All staff were very helpful.
We did get a bit bored with the food after 4-5 days but quality seemed acceptable.
The room and common areas were clean.
Very good location. The main negatives for us was the freezing pool and the entertainment although the kids did enjoy this.
All in all it was OK and I think some of the previous negative comments are a bit extreme. Although in saying that we probably wouldn't revisit.

| said: I visited this hotel in February this year. Booked with Thomas Cook on allocation on arrival, guaranteed 3sun AI-and it was not cheap about £380pp. Don't be mistaken that 3sun is the same as 3star - it's definitely not!!
When we arrived at the hotel realised it had a sign outside that said "2 key accommodation". Asked the rep if this was a 3 sun accommodation. He said well it's a 2 key which is lower than 3sun but because you are AI it automatically upgrades to 3sun???- Still awaiting a response about that comment. I then asked him if it was a 3star accommodation - he said no if you had booked a 3 star you would be staying across the road at the Occidental Playa!!! Thomas Cook need to make it clear to people that a 3sun rating is alot lower than 3star.
The reception area was grubby and run down. When we arrived home one night the doors were locked and a sign up saying back in 10 minutes!!
There was no place inside to relax during the day if it was chilly unless you went back to your apartment. Also - if you are a smoker you no longer have a place inside to smoke (in all the hotels) they have the new laws in place to!! Although you could smoke in your room which was strange!!
Food was ok but a bit repetitive but wouldn't expect anymore from a 2key. We decided to eat out after the first day.
At first appearance room was clean and tidy. But, our towels or bedsheets were not changed in our 1 week stay. The maid came in 3 times a week but still not sure what she done as the beds were not even made. The beds also had a horrible plastic bag like thing on the mattress. The bath was rotting and if you touched it started to crumble. Patio door had a big crack in it. If you wanted a kettle, remote control for the TV - you had to hire it!!! Then you had to pay for the television!!!
On the up side the location was fantastic and had a brilliant sea view from the apartment.
My gripe isn't with the hotel it's with Thomas Cook for misleading its customers into thinking they are going to be going to a hotel with relative quality.
My advice - Book the Occidental Playa next door it's what you really expect from a holiday!!

| said: Will not be using this "aparthotel again"
standard of comfort was appalling.
Reception area consisted of a desk, a computer ,vending machine and a pool table and a few grubby seats.
There was no access to lounge area during the day (the weather was quite cool so no seating available unless you stayed in apartment) and the table and chairs were uncomfortable wooden affairs except for one corner "couch style" seat.
Snacks on offer for A.I. consisted of half melted ice cream in freezer and a burger with a choice of onions and cheese ,battered calameri and a croquette of sorts, no fruit etc available. Evening snacks consisted of three choices:apple pastry and two biscuit choices.
Towels in the apartment were poor and quite smelly as soon as first used. Changed once during our seven day stay. Also there was no grill or oven if you wished to cook and if you wanted a kettle you had to hire it.
Patio door was cracked. Bath had been patched and was corroded along the edges.
Glad to get home for some comfort.

| said: Would not recommend this place to my worst enemy!
We booked this as a 3 star plus, but it does not even deserve the two keys rating that it has.
We have stayed all inclusive many times before, but the food here was mostly inedible. It certainly felt like eating in a dirty canteen - I have eaten in truckers cafes which were cleaner with better food. Dirty yellow table cloths which were not changed during the whole week we were there. The choice of food was poor - the toast at breakfast was ok. but took ages to do, as the bread only gets toasted one side at a time. Everything else was disgusting. Loads of people wandering up and down the line of food hoping to find something edible, the food was cold as well, I have never stayed anywhere else where microwaves are provided to reheat the supposedly already hot food. Recycling of food common, sprouts on the menu one evening appeared as chefs salad the following lunch time. The snacks were just awful.
Lots of people we spoke to had stomach upsets.
Local drinks were exceptionally strong - much better to ask for the mixer separately and make your own. Drinks only available in paper or plastic cups - the paper ones get soggy really quickly.
I don't know how anyone could gain 7lbs in one week eating there!
The entertainment was poor, dirty lounge bar, worse than any working mans club I have been in. Bingo was a rip off - 5 euros for one strip of 6 cards, prizes were 20 euro for one line, with the house prize being half of that evenings takings.
If you don't like the entertainment there is just nowhere for adults to sit and have a peaceful drink in the evenings.
Good point is that there is no smoking in the entertainment lounge, bad point is that there are always people hovering around the door having a smoke.
Good location, short walk to the beach.
Nice views out to sea.
Rooms clean but very shabby. Not enough hot water even for one person to get a shower. You have to hire anything extra you want for your room, kettle, toaster, remote control for the TV. heater. TV is pay to view - one euro for one hour.
Towels changed once during a one week stay. Sheets not changed at all. Maid service 3 times per week consisted of mopping the floor and replenishing the toilet rolls.
Ground cleaned daily, despite the abundance of paper cups used did not see any lying around the grounds, despite kids just filling them up with drinks and leaving them lined up on the bar (presumably for something to do).
Did not see any ants or cockroaches - just two overweight cats which skulked round the dining room area all the time.
Would never go back.

The room was "cleaned" twice in our week, by applying a damp mop to the floors.
Food was poor and lukewarm but edible.
Entertainment poor, the lounge would not be acceptable as a 1960,s working mens club. Sticky dirty floors and tables.
Definitely not All Inclusive, unless that means food and soft drinks and cheap local plonk.
No poolside towels, no hairdryers, slot TV and pay to hire a remote control???. Only inclusive as I said is food and local plonk, soft drink and Ices.
One pool table in reception area, one table tennis outside.
Poor.

Our rooms were a bit dated and there was no kettle or microwave however they were clean.
The position of the hotel was good it was near to the beach and shops. The food however was not to my liking breakfast was ok {I stuck with toast and cereal} lunch was better than the tea{but you can only have chips and bread for so long}we ate out most nights! Drinks were ok and the kids loved helping there selfs to ice cream whenever they wanted.
What can I say about the entertaniment rubbish! Everybody cramped in to a smokey room with not enough chairs and tables for everybody it was like a working mans club! The kids loved the disco but as for the other acts it was a con the snake show was rubbish and the parrot show; all they wanted was for you to pay to have your pitcure taken for 10euro.
Whilst we were there I think they had rounded up all the nutters from England and sent them over we had a women beating up her young son the police had to be called after she had spoilt everybodys night. People drinking their selfs stupid {obviosly wanting to get there moneys worth}.
Wouldnt go back if I was offered a free holiday felt sorry for the people who were there for Christmas and the New Year !!!!!!!

| said: This was a last minute booking for us (3 adults and 1 baby) so was a lot cheaper than most people had paid. If we'd have paid brochure prices then we would have been extremely disappointed!
Anyway, the hotel was clean enough and we had staff in our rooms every day to clean it and do the beds. They even did our son's cot all nice with his own blanket that we'd brought with us and put his teddy in the corner ready for bed time.
The food was very nice for the first few days but then got a bit repetitive. I quite liked all the food but my Fiance felt like all we were doing was waiting for the next mealtime before we did anything else (not forgetting that we also had a 1 year old son who wouldn't sleep in his buggy but still wanted a 2 1/2 hour nap in his cot in the afternoon!!!).
I got quite hooked on the Hake Goujons which were part of the 'snacks' and the baby liked the 'potato balls'.
I think that if you're quite fussy or won't try any foreign food then you wouldn't like most of the food on offer, so if you're the type who wants egg and chips while you're on holiday then you should stay in Britain!
There's been a couple of comments about the microwaves in the dining hall but we noticed that they were only being used to either heat up baby food or to melt the grated cheese that all the kids seem to like putting on top of their chips and not because the food was 'cold' and I can't say that we noticed anything being cold either!
Oh, and the chocolate dessert and peach dessert were gorgeous and I could live on them!!
The hotel location was great. Just right for doing a small amount of shopping (can't stand going around shops while on holiday but my Mum wanted to have a look!). We also hired a car for our second week and found that we were nicely central on the Island to be able to get to all the places of interest within a very short time.
When we did get to sit by the pool (which because of the high winds wasn't very often) the views were great. We could even see the ships going in and out of the port.
We moved rooms 3 times (1st was on ground floor so Mum thought baby could wander off from veranda, 2nd wasn't in the sun at all, 3rd was in the sun but on 2nd floor!) so by the time we settled we were on our 4th day. The view from our final room was excellent. We could see right over to the port so we could still see the ships. We also overlooked the the round pool which tended to not have many kids in so wasn't too noisy. At the back we overlooked the tennis courts/football pitch but even though we were within ear shot of the Irish Bar we couldn't hear anything after 2am and it never woke the baby even though we had the window open!
The hotel staff.... well what can we say! Stanley and Laia are truly wonderful and keep the entertainment going as much as they can even though they don't have decent equipment to work with. We joined in with as much as we could and won quite a few certificates! God knows how since the archery equipment is the worse we've ever seen, the pool cues had no tips, the table tennis table was wonkey and the PA, lights and stage for the night time were awful! But Stanley and Laia should have got medals for their constant smiles and cheeriness to everybody in everything that they did.
We wished we hadn't bothered watching the Parrot Show, it's rubbish and they spend the first 45 minutes just going around taking photo's of you with the parrot's. We didn't see the Snake Show we had to suffer the parrot's again but if they're as bad as the parrot's then I'd suggest going out to a bar for the night.
All the staff seemed to fall in love with our little boy so we found them to be wonderful people (especially Judith, Sonja & Maria). Very friendly and happy to help. Basically, if you don't ask then you don't get, so if you wanted you're towels changing you only had to ask.
We were usually in our room when the maids came round and they always brushed and mopped the whole apartment, changed the towels and made the beds. Very hard working so some of the criticism is unfair.
Other than Stanley and Laia I'd have to say that everybody's favourite was Braheim. He would serve people in the bar from afternoon till nightime and always with a smile. Our boy loved him and would always have a big smile when he saw him, plus I think all the girls fancied him like mad!!!
So basically if you want a 4 star hotel then don't book this one! This is a 2 star hotel and that's what you get, but at least it's clean, pleasant and has nice staff.
We wouldn't go here again but then we don't go back to any hotel twice but what we would do if we were ever back in the area is to call in and say 'hello' because that's how nice the people were.

The rooms were clean although a bit basic and if you needed fresh towels, you only had to ask. You were lucky if you got hot water (or indeed any water!) in the shower but still okay. Public areas in dire need of updating.
Restaurant okay - we all found something each night to eat although second week did get a bit repetitive but that's only to be expected.
Location of the hotel is excellent, right on the beach and near to hand to the pubs and restaurants in the resort.
Must give mention to Stanley and Laia the entertainers. Enjoyed most nights except the magic show and the parrot show. Good crowd of people on the whole.
Noticed that some people tried to book for 2006 - you can't as the hotel are only taking German guests next year. All I can say is that there needs to be some major refurbishments in that case!

| said: I read the reports on this hotel before travelling and was a little nervous to say the least, however, on arrival, all my fears were put to bed!
The hotel was very clean indeed and the cleaning went on all day from the early hours, pool, surrounding areas, restaurant, rooms. At all times of the day the place was being constantly maintained.
We arrived during the lunchtime serving and were very impressed with both the quality and selection of food available, particularly as my partner is a vegetarian and was expecting to be eating chips all week. I can imagine that if you were eating there every day for 2 weeks that some dishes will be repeated, but if you are in any way realistic, you have to expect that. Throughout the serving, fresh food was constantly being supplied and we were never short of food or choice.
We also found the service and staff very pleasant and helpful.
I was surprised that there was no system of identifying hotel guests that were all inclusive and there was the risk of free loaders coming in of the street and helping themselves, that would be my only suggestion.
The pool was not heated but was always clean and you just had to be a bit brave and get your shoulders under!
The entertainment was regular but aimed mostly at the kids which is fine for families but if you are a mature couple it did have a bit of a butlins feel. There was always the option of sitting at the poolside bar and have music to listen to while the bar kept serving.
As a whole the hotel exceeded my expectations and we had a very enjoyable stay in a clean and well presented hotel.
Very good Value for money all the way!

The hotel was kept very clean our room was cleaned nearly every day along with the bedding changed and the towels.
The pool was cleaned every morning.
The hotels downfall has to be the food it wasnt fantastic but it was edible although it did get better as we went into our 2nd week.
It would be nice to have some different snacks for the children.
The hotel location well what can you say you are near all the shops and you are a couple of minutes away from the beach.
The hotel staff from the receptionist to the cleaners to the maintance men along with the jmc reps were very friendly and always had time for our 2 young children.
The entertainment was a good laugh..the children had fun with the JMC reps but I think Stanley and Liah were brill they had us all joining in and making fools of ourselves always a smile on their faces and loved the children..they even had us dancing in the kids disco..but if you cant make a fool of yourself on holiday when can you...
would we visit this hotel again most definatly
we are just waiting to see if jmc get the contract for the hotel and we will be going back next year ...hopefully

Don't expect a 4 star Hotel because it isn't but, what it is, is a very good 2 star.
The food was excellent, if you are a fussy eaters then you might be dissapointed but we are not.
The Hotel staff are very friendly and it was very clean. The toilets are as clean as any 4 star.
The rooms are very spacious because of it being a self catering complex before.
Stanley and Laia are great and they work really hard to entertain every one

| said: Hello all,
We had been to Costa teguise before several times, w therefore decided to bring our little boy on his first foreign holiday to the Punta Jablillo.
Good points.
1. Rooms were good, no cockroaches!!, cleaned often along with fresh towels.
2. Entertainment in the evening was for the entire family but leading towards kids (a blessing for us)
3. Staff were very friendly and spent time to talk to us.
4. Pools were excellent, checked and maintained often, (the round pool was by far the warmest!)
5. Even though my son was to young to go to kids club the reps took time to talk to him and made his day.
6. The 2 entertainment reps Stanley and Laia? were superb, an excellent range of family activities throughout the day, Shooting, boule, Sjoelen, 5 a-side, water polo, water bingo, bingo, competitions, pool, evening entertainments plus more, both of them had energy in buckets and were sociable and easy to get on with, kids and adults alike were impressed.
7. Local drinks were good.
8. Food was plentiful.
9. Holiday reps were good, joined in the entertainments and were knowledgable and polite.
Bad points.
1. There were no real allowances for vegetarians in the menu other than pasta and salads. (i like salad though, so no worries for me)
2. Some of the food was not as hot as we would have liked.
3. There were no facilities to wash your clothes.
4. The showers were never truely hot, luke warm at best (get your showers in early!!)
5. The reception needed sprucing up, the chairs were threadbare, pool table was amazing?, ping pong table was bent on one side (now thats why i lost in the semi-final!!)
Neither here nor there points.
1. Someone on this site commented on food being re-used, ie pork one day, stew the next, this is very common in ALL the fully inclusive accommadation we have ever been on, and we wern't suprised or upset (we don't touch reused chicken though, but, they never did it)
2. It was a 2 star hotel, therefore you get 2 star facilities (so don't moan if you don't)
All in all we gave the hotel around 80 to 85%, we would use it again if we were coming back to Lanzarote.

The hotel was clean and the apartments which were on the second floor were spacious but in need of updating. They were cleaned every other day and bed sheets changed twice in two weeks,no sight of any cockroaches inside, the pools were cleaned twice a day and the staff were always ready to give a smile.
Stanley and Laia were fantastic, their theme nights were great, they made everyone laugh and made sure they knew all of the quests names, the personal touch was fab.
The kidsworld staff were out of this world, especially Donna, DJ and Vicky, the children were sad to leave them as we were also, the kids had such a great time we felt we were intruding on their holiday, JMC rep Laura was great and helpful.

Towels and bed covers were changed every second day. We also found the cleaning staff very nice. As we did we the reception staff and bar staff, they were ever so friendly and helpful.
There were two lovely pools, good for cooling down with the wonderful sunshine you get there. The bar was open by the main pool all day as far as i saw and shut at around midnight. Drinks were available at all times in the restaurant and by the round pool. Which is very good as you get thirsty in the heat alot.
The food was very good, plenty of choice at breakfast from cereal to full breakfast. Lunch was our favourite, always lovely and varied. Something for everyone. Dinner was also good but it was nice to eat out some nights as this didnt always have foods that went together well, edible though!!
As for the reps, for us thomas cook/jmc, they were a great help. Always willing to help and easy to get on with.
Kids entertainment went on all day by the looks of it, the kids staff looked great with the kids. Night entertainment werent great when we went but normal organisers who are reported to be very good were on there hols.
Overall i would definately go back there as it was such a friendly place. Recommended for families as there are not loads of rowdy teens, however weare only 20 and we wanted a peaceful holiday and we got this, but we could also have sayed up late if we had of wanted as there is pleanty to do a small walk away.

| said: I've delayed in writing a report because I had looked at re-booking and couldn't find this Hotel listed within any UK brochures, now, having just read another report it appears JMC must 're-bid' for this Hotel.
First things first, this is NOT a 4 star hotel, it is either an exceptional two star or average 3 star. Also this Hotel is not designed for families with kids over 14, there is nothing for them to do within the Hotel complex, the entertainment tries but it is not there 24hrs a day, unlike alcohol which starts at 1000hrs and drunk teenagers are our own cause not the Hotels!!
The food is what you would expect, similar in fashion to a Little Chef/Holiday Inn/Motorway Service Station, it is buffet style, served on a hot plate running down the centre of the Restaurant, always hot and with plenty of variety, not a'la'carte but I didn't pay for that and the difference between this this Hotel and the examples stated is that here the food is regularly rotated, not just left on the hot plate to fester. The food is normally very varied (some bad days in the second week but that is probably a British thing) and lunch is served outside (weather permitting) on a patio in the sun. Eat early or late for lunch (food standard and quantity doesn't diminish) because tables with parasols are at a premium in the best locations, you're in the sun and it gets hot. Breakfast is great between 0800 - 0900hrs but gets busy after 0900hrs and hard to replenish hot plates, but they do so don't panic. The restaurant itself cannot cope with all the guests at once, but surprisingly, not all the guests eat at once, you generally have 2hrs for each meal and snacks in between, bit hard to find an issue.
The complex though is the main selling point. Entertainment was outstanding, try to get a seat early because a lot of people will have their evening meal outside and keep the table. Pools were regularly checked, cleaned and maintained. I did manage to find cockroaches, took me eleven days and a lot of hunting, they are there but cannot get into your rooms unless you leave the doors open at night (roaches don't move around at day), impossible for them to get under doors as they are set so low.
Hotel is roughly 400 yards from resort in a self contained resort, one way in and one way out. Reception keep an eye on whose coming in and out at the front desk and 'Guests' keep an eye on the back gate, young kids just cannot escape without an adult and there are too many people around the pools for it ever to be an issue. At night there are regular security patrols so you sleep safe in your beds (and having spent 19 years in the Army I mean regular). Maid is in, I think either daily or every other day but if you keep your apartment (and I mean apartment -kitchen, main bedroom, decent sized bathroom and living area/kids bedroom) clean you don't notice (or leave your trash and your door open and let the roaches do it!! then complain!!).
On the whole for the money I paid and the holiday I got I cannot complain, I did listen to others whining about this and that (too much salad, meat not cooked properly, sun too hot, beer too strong, this is bad this is poor, etc etc) for possibly they had heard so many complaints about this Hotel they felt obliged too. It is not bad, in fact, for a family it is outstanding, the guests themselves probably make up the reason for most of the complaints on this site, the Hotel cannot stop somebody having a large amount of alcohol and food then going in the pool, when they throw up, the Hotel reacted, likewise they cannot stop a teenage kid get loaded on un-supervised lager in the Restaurant but they did try and try to get rid of the smell (and it really did smell) , but what can you do, that could happen in any Hotel.
My only hope is that others can go here with an open mind and enjoy it because if that is what you do you'll have a great holiday, if not we could lose this Hotel and that would be a shame.

| said: When I read the reports for this Hotel back in December 2004, I did look into cancelling the holiday and re book for a different Hotel in this area, BUT I am pleased that I didn't,
The Accommodation: The rooms were very clean and tidy, with a good supply of kitchen equipment. Our room was cleaned on average every second day and clean towels and sheets every 4th day. The cleaning staff did an excellant job in cleaning the appartments.
The Food: This was the only thing that let this Hotel down. The food was repeated on a regular basis, there was not a good selection for children, saying that the food served at lunch time outside was lovely and the staff on duty were always walking around and cleaning away any dishes left. We did eat out on a couple of occassions.
Location: The location was brilliant, in the middle of the town, close to the beach and all the shops etc
Hotel Staff: The staff were very friendly and always willing to help when ever possible.
Entertainment: Stanley & Laia were very good with all their programmed events and the disco in the evening for the children was superb, they both gave 100%. The entertainment was brief but the nights we did watch it was very good.
So what do I think lets this hotel down? Mainly the food, I think this could be done and organised much better with a better variety. The amount of children running around the complex unsupervised and my BIGGEST grumble is that if you are not up at 3am forget about a sunbed!
The day before we were due to fly home, I became ill and was admitted to the General Hospital (Nothing to do with the food etc) Our two week holiday turuned into nearly 4 weeks! When I was admitted to the hospital the JMC reps Nic & Laura organised everything for my husband and little 5 year old, we had not seen that much of them during the holiday but they were both very good when needed. I spent 8 days in the hospital and my daughter and husband were moved to the TEGUISOL Hotel after our 14 days were up in the JABLILLO and although the Teguisol was a higher rated hotel, I would rather be in the Jablillo for a holiday.
Would I return to the Jablillo? The answer to that question is a deffinate YES.
Apart from my illness our holiday was superb.

| said: What can I Say? FANTASTIC! Almost the minute you get there you are involved with the activities, the first game we played was called “sardines” what happens is the hotel have built a dining room which only holds about 25% of its guests, then they cram in as many people as they can! What’s more, they have NO air-conditioning so it keeps every one nice and warm. As an added boost they have electrified the hotplates in several spots now that was funny! Watching little kids jumping out of their skins! We laughed! then the kitchen staff always thinking ahead and wanting to join in lobbed in a couple of trays of contaminated food and the next day the kids played “empty the contents of the stomach from every orifice game” after two hours my wife and I just had to join in! We loved it so much we did it for four days and four nights! Along with 40 to 50 other guests!
We then played pass the paracetamol, pass the Calpol, pass the Imodium and pass the rehydration sachets! What Fun! We laughed so much we actually cried.
Then there was the day trip, (Great Fun) that was called the clinic excursion we had needles stuck in our Bums! The only down part of that was it stopped us playing the empty of contents of the stomach game, however there were so many other games we played, my particular favourite was the cat and mouse game we all played with the reps, what happens here is, when new guests arrive we were all so excited that we just had to tell them about all the games and the two reps would try to stop us so as not to spoil the fun for the new arrivals, the reps always won and the new guests joined in, they likewise seem to like the empty the stomach game .
The nightly entertainment….well that’s a cracker! What they do here is they have a Mini-disco about 6 foot from the pool, which has no lights and is pitch black, now as the kids run around the parents have to listen for splashes!! From their kids falling into the pool, then the parents run as fast as they can in an attempt to rescue their kid before it drowns! (There’s some adrenalin in that one let me tell you). I have never laughed so much! OH! I nearly forgot….THE KIDDY CONGA! The entertainment duo march the kids around getting faster and faster till they are running, now this is the best bit, they take them to the outside dining area where the cleaners deliberately leave pieces of food on the floor and the kids slip (Bless them)! And drop like nine pins crashing their little heads and limbs onto the floor, tables, chairs and posts etc. It was hilarious, the kids were so proud of the damage they had done to them selves, one little kiddie was so proud of breaking his wrist he could contain himself and he just broke down in tears. It really was one of those emotional moments we all love so much!
What more can I say, PATHETIC comes to mind.

| said: The hotel was shabby, but kept very clean. Our room was basic but fine. The bath had a rusty hole in it though.
The food was very greasy, although there was a good selection.. but nothing seemed to match.
We are not fussy eaters, but we ate out in the evenings 4 nights out of 7.
The location of the hotel was fine. The beach at the back of the hotel was rocky..not the sandy one in the brochure.
hotel staff were pleasant enough.
Bar staff varied a bit.
Entertainment suited younger children.

| said: Just returned from our 2 weeks stay at Punta Jabillo, if your thinking of booking DONT.
I am amazed how people return year after year, they must have had some really rubbish holidays if that's the best so far.
The Hotel is in a run down part of town, although it backs on to a rocky beach. Ithought it was clean, but tatty. Our room was ok just very tired and could do with a few repairs, the whole place needs an overhaul.
Our pool [the round pool] the quiet pool as its supposed to be was ok, but we only had fizzy drinks here [the kiosk stunk]if you wanted water you had to go to the bar[open at 3] or walk all the way through to the outside bar, where the icecream was.
My score for the food was generous as it was disgusting 98% of the time, my 15 year old son lost half a stone in two weeks! The smell from the restaraunt would make you feel sick. We had veal 3 days running, whatever meat you had for dinner would reappear as stew the next day! It was always hot with lots of choice, it didn't matter what you ate it all tasted the same.
Most of the waitress worked really hard, and judie and maria were lovely and great with the kids. the hoel reception staff were pleasant and helpfull more than can be said for the jmc reps! Although the security staff could do with a lesson in manners, don't expect late nights as the doors are locked at midnight and they turn out the lights so you have to leave the bar in the dark, which is dangerous.
Most of the so called entertainment last about 15 min. We had 2 parrot shows in 7 days. which intalled 45 min of photo op at 10 euros and 15 min of really bored looking parents not wanting to do anything. the entertainment is appalling and is always finished by 11.20.
The kids club is a rip off as you have already paid all inclusive, but most of the activites have a charge. We paid 20 euros per child to go to 2 'partys', one party they took them to the beach to play football [in 85deg] then to a bar for burger and then to watch cartoon network. The others had a party in their hut.
The hut is a shed with no air con . The only play area was a sand pit with no shade so you wouldn't be able to walk on the sand. There is nowhere for the kids to go in the middle of the day to get out of the sun, they need a cool room that thay can watch tv or play a game in. The kids reps never came around our pool and asked any of the kids to join them, we never saw anyone unless it was waterpolo time then everyone got turfed out of the pool.
You only see a rep when they want money for the trips.
We only got our sheets changed afer 9 days, and i only had 3 hot showers in 2 weeks. We booked a 3 star hotel and it is still advertised as 3 star, however the reps told us we were in a 2 star. One star would be to generous for this hotel.
Costa teguise if you walk to the other side is quite nice and purta callero is lovely.
The only good thing was we made some good friends and managed to have a few laughs.
If you stay here be prepared to get up early as all the sunbeds are gone by 4am! Also ther are no lifts so be prepared if you stay on the 3rd floor to lug your cases up the stairs, and ther is no air con, although it is very windy! I would never ever travel with JMC again as I felt there service was disgusting.

| said: Our beds were not changed at all in 14 nights when cleaners came round they spent more time looking through your things than cleaning towels smell they were only changed twice.
They were very rude they told you to stay out while they were in room. Food is full of grease & not edible 98% of the time, but then it gives you an upset stomach after you've eaten it. We ate out 98% of the time.w W spent our holiday money on food & drink.
Its a good job its not far from shops, resturants, pubs&beach.
The staff are extreamly rude at 12am they just switch off all the lights without saying anything that how my son & me got hurt! Then we had a gang of teenage lads in the room next door there parents were in another room they were a nightmare(aged 11/19) drinking up all night in the pool at 3am. We complained that many times nothing was ever done! Not intrested at all!! Judie is good & game for a laugh she is the one who collects the cups/plates.
Entertainment is none existant during the day & rubbish at night kids disco is only on for 30min then bingo then may be 15min parrot/snake/dancers/dragqueen if your lucky!!!
We met six other families they felt the same as us we say don't go unless you want to be bored &need another holiday to recouparate from that hell hole.
The rooms are covered in mildew. Cockroaches and ants all in the beds wardrobes you had to wash your new /clean clothes before you could wear them advice keep all stuff locked in your case only takeout what you need &when little pool dont use. Use cicle1 only.
Dont go unless you have no choice whatsoever as we only got back on 26.8.05. Its not even a 1 star were all very upset & reps aren't interested as there handing out complaint/lost property forms by the dozen as they dont care at all.

The food is better this year as we have now been to this hotel 3 times now and we find it lovley, the staff are excellent, there is one we really got on well with and known for 3 yrs is Maria she is so lovely and she is good with kids as well.
Stanley and Liya were excellent they loved us. They did so much for us I cant say a bad word agaisnt them.
I dont know why people complain so much as the hotel is brill and we are going back next year.
I must say the kids club reps are excellent , we know Collette already for last year. I would definitely go back as we all love it there.
I dont know why people moan.

| said: Well I read all these miserable reports on this site before we left for our holiday and I can say that this was the best holiday we have had for some time.
The hotel was very clean and before leaving we knew we were not going to get the Royal Hilton but were shocked at the incredible way in which the staff worked their hardest to make sure we were looked after. The whole hotel was very clean and I only saw one cockroach on the pavement which was dead near our room but none were ever seen in our accommodation.
Damien the barman was great with the kids and was brilliant for his cocktail tricks! Sieid the other barman was also very friendly and hard working.
Stanley & Laia Credit must go to these guys as they kept up the entertainment for the kids and the adults very energetically! Although I never really involved myself in any of the games which after looking back was sad because I missed out on so much I will say this that they were absolutely brilliant with the kids and yes it did seem as though they enjoyed everything they did for us. If you did not wish to stay at the complex for the entertainment there is plenty around the resort!
The food at the complex was very cleanly laid out and there was always lots of choice! The carvery and BBQ's were brilliant although my partner is Vegetarian there was not much selection for her but she enjoyed what was on offer! All the catering staff worked very hard to keep all eating area's spotless!
Both swimming pools were very clean and were regularly tested for chlorine content.
You can eat as much as you want and drink as much as you want.
Our apartment was cleaned regularly and towels were changed every two days.
I just did not see the point of the Sauna at the smaller Pool? being that the resort is very hot there is not much point for this service. What could be needed is a utility room to be able to wash clothes.
There was only one pool table working when we arrived as the other table outside near the smaller pool was not working but seeing the amount of kids fighting over who wanted the table next I think that there could be couple of more tables which could be provided by the hotel.
Yes we would definitely come back again it was a shame to leave a great complex. I would say that the reps there did a good job, I would definitely say the Girls who ran the Kids Club were brilliant! I never saw one child who did not enjoy themselves! They could have as much Ice Cream as they wanted to eat and as much soft drinks as they wanted to drink. 10/10 to everybody here at Punta Jabillio Was sad to leave the complex behind!

The food was ok you could manage but not the best.
Hotel location was suberb. Recommend Saxos Bar excellent.
Hotel staff lovely especially Sieid (bar man) and Judit(waitress).
Entertainment was good varied, good for children.
Met some lovely people. The only gripe I've got is us British should be ashamed we say the Germans are bad for sunbeds, people were putting towels on sunbeds at 4am if you went to find a sunbed after 6.30am don't bother you got no chance.
What I thought was good was the fun by the pool for adults and kids dancing in pool, water bingo, swim races excellent.

| said: After reading the reports about this resort I was a dreading going but just got back from a fantastic holiday!!!!
On arrival we found the reception staff extremely helpful and at first glance the place looked very dated. The rooms were very clean but again dated and you had to pay to rent a kettle or a toaster. The food was good but repetetive. We had no incidents of tummy upsets in our party.
If your expecting 5 star then don't go. Its a simple resort with simple food and drink. The beach is very close and I would recommend the sun seekers cruise - a great day out. Laia nad Stanley, the kids entertainers were brilliant and the kids really enjoyed the dancing.
A very relaxing resort with cheap restaurants near if you do fancy a change.

| said: We have just come home from our 2nd week in 2 months at this hotel.
I would like to start by saying, if you want 5 star hotels.....pay for them!!
This hotel is excellent value for money. It is very clean. The location is excellent, as are the staff.
Yes, the food could be better but, for the money you pay, I would consider it to be more than sufficient.
Whilst there we heard lots of other people complaining, and I have to say that most of the complaints were 'winges'.
We stayed for 1 week at the beginning of June and enjoyed it so much that we booked another week as soon as we got home, if we could afford it, we would definatley be going back this year.
Finally, I have to mention Stanley and Laia. They are the best in hotel entertainment team I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. They work so hard to keep you entertained, and do a fantastic job of it.
The Thomas Cook/JMC side of things were not so hot, but luckily we didn't really need them for anything as the hotel reception were more than capable of sorting out any problems!!
If you have been to this hotel and not enjoyed it, try paying £4000 for a family of 4 and you may get what you want!!

Hotel clean. Rooms cleaned most days. Clean towels and linen regulary. No cockroaches in rooms.
Food excellant, always kept warm and a good choice of dishes.
Hotel location excellant, plenty to do around hotel.
Hotel staff friendly especially the nice smiley man behind the bar.( Nice set of teeth.) But only one shirt.
Entertainment limited, but (okey dokey) Stanley and his sexy chick lier made the best of a difficult job.
We went to this hotel with our friends and were given rooms next to each other. We had a fantastic holiday and we would go again if we could find it a holiday brochure.
