The park in general is in an excellent location but the lodges are very dated and many are scruffy, ours was scruffy outside, including the green areas and not very clean. Inside the lounge carpet stank of fish and on the first day the patio door fell off, honestly it was like a Carry-On film. Door was fixed within a day but had to tell them 3 times about smell, eventually called out carpet cleaner who de-odourized it although only helped a bit.
Arrival time is 4.00pm, which we think was late anyway, but when we arrived at 5.00 it still wasn't ready and we had to wait another 20 minutes, we guess as they attempted to clean the dirty carpet!
A real shame as with a bit of effort and modernization this place could be great. Pool was fine though, didn't use the bar area or food as we didn't think it looked up to scratch but can't really comment on that. Local pubs were great, especially the Three Horse Shoes so ate there a lot of the time.
Was fairly cheap though in comparison to what we usually pay-but I'd say it's still overpriced for what it is.
