| said: When we first arrived at the hotel,as we pulled up, there was a large amount of letters missing from the wall which was supposed to read Louis Creta Princess. So straight away, this created a bad first impression for me. When we entered reception, at a glance, it seemed to be good, looked clean enough, but being in a bit of a rush, I didn't really absorb the surroundings in the foyet. We promptly made our way to the room. We stayed in a bungalow room and it was one of the last ones in the far building, so we were right near the sea, so the view was kind of nice. When we entered the room, we were taken aback by it's size. But reassured ourselves that that didn't really matter. What was more strange, were the 2 doors that connected us to the 2 rooms either side! Which at one point, at 1 o clock in the morning, some newbies were trying to get through! The room wasn't exceptionally clean, it looked as though maybe the maid did a quick tidy up rather than cleaning. The food in the first week, I quite enjoyed, lots to choose from, after the first week, It was kind of the case 'been there, done that' and found it a bit of a bore. The snack bar was ok, served it's purpose. The Chinese I found a bit basic and tried my best to give it a go, but again, not much variety. Finally, the 'entertainment'. It was drab. Kids club started about half 8, promptly followed by mini disco time - Same Songs! I practically knew all the moves after 2 nights. After all the kids stuff had finnaly finsihed, the stuff that followed didn't impress much. The stuff that involved the crowd was ok, you can't really go wrong with that, but the actual shows were poor. The 'entertainers' would come on, do a 3 minute number, then disapper for 5 minutes, until the next 3 minute number. And the bingo! I didn't like it before, and that only served to deepen my dislike. It wasn't all bad though, the pool area was nice, which is where we spent most of the time and I found that most of the staff were nice enough if you gave them the time of day, instead of just barking orders at them. There were plenty of sunbeds and the general upkeep of the actual grounds was well done, grass cut regularly and the foliage that had fallen was picked up every morning. Also the pool was cleaned out every morning. This is the first time I've been to Greece or a Greek island, so I can't compare to other Greek places. But the places I have been impressed me more in all aspects. Maybe that's the quintessential Greek hotel.

| said: Hmm, I was so looking forward to staying at the Louis Creta Princess. I think that having stayed at the First Choice Holiday Village in Turkey last year, I was expecting more than we got and felt a bit let down.
The hotel is clean enough. That much hits you in the face when you first walk in, but, on the whole it could do with a bit of a make over. We stayed in one of the bungalow rooms and we couldn't fault the location as we were on the ground floor facing the first of the pools and it was just a few steps to the water and the sunbeds. The rooms are quite small and basic and the beds are hard. But on the whole it was comfortable and all four of us coped with the size of the room. It made a change for the kids to sleep on decent beds of the own rather than sharing a fold out bed. The room was cleaned daily with fresh towels three times a week.
The food was good, but a bit repetative. There was always a good selection to choose from that included a carvery, show cooking, salads and a kids buffet. However, the kids buffet always had spaghetti bolognese along with just one other choice. Breakfast consisted of sausges, bacon, fried/scrambled eggs and beans etc. There was several choices of cereal and bread, cooked meats and cheese. But my favourite was the pancakes with fruit and greek yoghurt. Lunch saw BBQ meat and salads or there was the Chinese and the pizzeria. Believe me, the pizzas are very tasty.
The Louis Creta Princess really is in the middle of nowhere. There are a handful of bars and shops about 10 mins walk away or you can catch the bus into Platanias or Chania from right outside the hotel. The fare to Chania for an adult is 2.70 Euros and you can either pay on the bus or buy your tickets from the shop in the hotel. BUT, be warned, the drivers and conductors are very rude, angry and abrubt. One poor sole was told quite bluntly to chuck her Ice Cream away or catch the next bus. Oh, and the hotel beach is awful. It's totally unsafe for small kids as the waves can be very rough.
It's a shame as it is one of the few things that spoilt this holiday as the hotel staff are not the friendliest I've encountered either, especially in the restaurant. There are no smiling faces and if you dare to sit at the wrong table, you are chased away. On a couple of ocassions, when dishing up some food on to my plate, one of the kitchen staff literally took it away from me in order to top it up with fresh food which I found quite rude. Oh, and don't try to ask the old bloke in the pool bar for a tray as a blunt "no" and a filthy look will come your way.
The entertainment left a lot to be desired. It kicked off at 8.30 with the First Choice party dances for the kids before the hotel animation staff took over the party dances and played almost the same songs again! The "Show" didn't start until 9.45 and was over by 10.30 and believe me, you were left feeling unwelcome there as the bar was closed at that time as well. Apparently, the head of the Animation team walked out at the start of the season and left the others high and dry and not really knowing what they are doing. I personally don't class a 45 minute bingo game as entertainment and over two weeks we were really bored. We ended up sitting on the grass outside having been to the local supermarket to buy some beers as the beer the hotel served up is awful. Plus it was only 2%! Now, I'm not one for getting sloshed every night, but I like to know I have had a drink. This beer was like water and the Vodka and Whiskey is no better to be honest. The size of the flimsey plastic cup is a joke as it's the same size you would give out at a kids party. The animation team do a better job during the day with something going on all the time. The best day is Sunday as they do their verion of the Olympics. Everyone is split into two teams and compete all day in fun games. There was a great atmosphere and in my mind maybe they showed do it more often as it really got the guests involved.
All in all, it was a well needed break in the sun, but I would not go back to the Louis Creta Princess unless they did something about the entertainment, put alcohol in the drinks and replaced the staff.

| said: visited this hotel for the first 2 weeks of july, and had a fantastic time. rooms very clean and despite previous reports ok in size (2 adults and 2 children in ours), balcony is small though. food excellent pizza is a must, didnt think much to the chinese though, but many people used it.
pools fantastic ,beach nice for photos but not suitable for kids. the animation team are great if you get involved (a big thanks to you all especially alex and stephanie)found the hotel staff not as nice as some greek staff probably due to the all inclusive which brings me to a couple of bad points.
firstly drinks by the pool are served in small plastic cups, fair enough considering breakages but they are also served this way at the shows ,which is a pain (a thimble of lager doesnt last very long). little tip is to go to the disco after 11pm and the drinks are in glasses and much stronger, its also a good way to mix with the animation team and a great laugh. next bad point is the kids club, not knocking the girls there but only 16 places with about 50 kids is not enough ,bear in mind we went outside the school holidays ,it will get worse. shows are simple but funny you just have to get involved for some fun. saying all this we would go again

The hotel grounds are maintained to a high standard, and located in a quiet resort, ideal for chilling out, and having a stroll along the beach. Hotel staff very friendly and pollite. Plenty of sun beds and three very large pools. There is not much in the way of entertainment for adults but well catered for the kids. would go back to this hotel.

| said: Having just returned from 2 weeks at the Louis Princess Creta we can honestly say we had a great time.
The rooms and hotel are kept very clean maid service every day for 14 days.
The layout of the hotel is very good, the pools are great and the hotel is directly on the beach. We went in the 6 weeks holidays and got a sunbed every morning even at 10.30am.
The food is good and is available all day, the pizzas at lunch time are a must. The self service drink systems works very well although watch out for the wasps.
The animation team were good but unlike others we've seen they do mime. Saying that they work tirelessy all day every day.
A great hotel for families, I would recommend this hotel but I would also recommend hiring a car.

The animation team do a disco in the evening too and then they work hard to put on various shows, As the previous review said they did mime tho. But that said they work long hours and put their all in to it.
The kids also used the First Choice kids club and I have to say they work hard Tash and katie. Tash is very lively and gets everyone involved. The adults in our party were even honoury reps for the night, which involved staying on stage for the whole of the mini disco doing all the dances,, Fun but tiring and shows you how hard they work.
Food was good, main resturant got a bit repetative in the secong week but as they have pizza, pasta andchinese in the day it made up for it.
We had a couple of our trips cancelled, one because the weather was too hot and as it was a long walk they had to stop it apparently. The other the Greek night was sold to us when they had no venue for it, which we were not too happy with, but if you walk along the seafront the malame mar does a greek night on a sunday and as long as you go and book by the saturday afternoon you can go and it is half the price of the first choice one.

The food was great with a chinese, pizza, bbq, snack bar,so much to choose from we didnt know what to have.Too many flys in the resturant though.
The hotel was very clean ,with sheets changed regulary and the pool area was very clean.
The location of the hotel was not very good as there was nothing within walking distance, except the supermarket across the road and this was much cheaper than the on site shop.
Hotel staff were very helpfull and freindly.
The entertainment was not to bad, the animation team were brilliant during the day with lots of activitys for the whole family, but they was not to good a night with the entertainment, a lot of dressing up and miming shows. But fairplay to them they did try and they proberly done about 16 hours work a day.
We had a good holiday but wouldn't go back.
And I forgot about the photographer. WHAT A RIP OFF.

The hotel and pools are spotless, the staff polite and friendly and the food smashing!! They have added the pizza and chinese bar since our last visit - yum yum!!
We had no problems getting sunbeds, in fact it looks like they have many new ones as there were piles of empty beds stacked in one area.
The entertainment was really good, we thoroughly enjoyed it.
We had some lovely photos done by Marco, the photographer. My husband had a back massage from Diane and we booked the waterpark on the little blue train through the lady by the pool (sorry, I dont know her name but she was lovely and friendly!) The waterpark was a great day out and it was a nice trip on the train - I would reccommend it.
All in all fantastic for a lovely family holiday!

| said: This hotel is just fantastic and has every-thing you need for a fun filled family holiday.
From the moment we got there we knew we were going to be happy little bunnies! The reception staff were lovely and the first choice reps even lovelier - hope your all doing ok, by the way!!
We stayed in a bungalow room with a terrace, which overlooked the pool and had a side sea view (all bungalows have a side sea view from their terrace). Whilst quite small, there is a lovely double bed and we also had a single bed, plus a sofa bed with drawers in the bottom. As there were only the 3 of us, there was adequate space, but
I would think if you were a familly of 4 it may be a bit of a tight squeeze, however it's adequete for what you need (bear in mind though, you are all in the same room)!
The maids come in every day and empty the bins/make the beds and sweep up. The sheets are changed 3 times in the week and towels most days - just leave them in the bath when you want them changing.
The food was fantastic. Breakfast in the restaurant and there is LOADS to choose from. Lunch is usually by the pool (or restaurant if it's raining - and there's not much chance of that)!. You can choose from Pizzas - freshly made (these are to die for)! or chinese or
barbecue etc.,. There's loads of choice and you can also get fries and salads or toasties - you name it - it's all good stuff.
The drinks are self serve by the pool during the day, which is great because it means no long queues, dying of thirst, waiting to get served! You can get lager/water/soft drinks/tea & coffee. If you want some-thing stronger then there is a lovely girl who will serve you and she also provides the ice creams for the kids - you just tell her what you want!
The evening meal is lovely, but if you want to sit out on the terrance I suggest you get there as early as possible - it does get busy and finding a table out-side is almost impossible if you go a little later. It's all self serve in the restaurant and there is loads to choose from. They even do show cooking and a separate childrens section, so there is always some-thing to find for fussy kids!
Entertainment - plenty to do - The hotel has it's own animation team, they come round now and again during the day and ask you if you want to play football or darts or whatever -they are not pushy though and don't try to drag you off your sun bed, so you can get as involved or uninvolved as you like, really.
In the evening you can go into the disco bar which opens at 8.30pm. Again this is mostly self service. The first choice kids club girls (Tasha & Katie) do the mini disco for the 1st half hour and then the animation team do their mini disco until 9.30am. Then there's 1/2 hour of music by the dj and then an act, which usually lasts until approx. 11.30 ish. All in all very good.
However if you fancy it a little queiter go up to the Dionyssus bar (next to the restaurant). This is more for couples wanting a nice quiet drink on their own. In fact if you send the kids to the club (yes - first choice run an evening club), for 3 euros per child you can get 2 hours peace from 9pm-11pm!
The kids club is fantastic - it runs practically every day, 4 times a day and the reps are fantastic. Tasha and Katie work really hard and our daughter loved it, I think she would have stayed there all day if she could!!
The beach is nice - a little small, but lovely views and the kids pirate ship to play on is right there too.
Maleme itself is just a little village, but is lovely. There are some lovely taverna's if you fancy a change from the Hotel and they have kids play facilites too - what more could you ask for?
All in all this place is fabulous - we had a great time and would definatly go back - if you've booked to go here - well done, you'll have a great time - wish we were still there....

This hotel is a family hotel, so please do not moan about the children, if you don't like children or would like a quiet hotel this is not for you.
The accommodation is exactly what is says in the brochure 'basic' but tidy clean and all what you would need ie frigde, hairdryer and also electric air con.
The food is excellent as much or as little as you like.
Breakfast was english and greek, with also the show cooking of the eggs and pancakes.
The entertainment during the day provided by the hotel was also excellent. Starting at 10.00am with a session of "stretching", and that is how the day progressed with Archery, Football, Water Gym, Mini Golf, Water Polo and most of these sessions were both for adults and children 6 upwards but separately.
This is the first holiday my husband and i have taken where there was a kids club from First Choice and all I can say is that we wont be able to go on holiday again without checking that they have a kids club.
My daughter who is 6 wasn't sure if she wanted to go at first, but after the first session she said that it was great and when was the next. The Kids Reps Tasha and Katie were amazing from morning till night with all the right entertaiment that any child from 4 to 8 could imagine from face painting to choci parties.
So if your looking for a great hotel, good food and good company, look no further and enjoy.

| said: Absolutely brilliant hotel. This is the second time we have visited this hotel and have enjoyed it as much as the first. Everything about the hotel was spot on for cleanliness, staff brilliant always smiling nothing was too much for them.
Food better than when we visited in 2004 due to better variety and the addition of a chinese bar along with the fab pizza bar at lunchtime.
Entertainment not as good as Lorenzo's team in 2005, but I must admit that they would take some beating and if we hadn't been spoiled with lorenzo's team would have found it OK. The kids disco with the kids reps were good but the mini disco with the animation team were too short!!
The only problems were the sunbeds. We had to get up at 6am to reserve one!!! People were putting towels out on the way back to their rooms at midnight. This would not happen if the hotel acted on their policy for reserving sunbed. Having said this I don't know how they would go about this.
The sunset photographer based in the hotel is a ripoff and his photos not very good quality-there were shadows on peoples faces, eyes closed etc, but these were not invincible on the small proofs and only came to light on the blow ups after we had paid for them.
Complaining only got us more photos free-again rubbish and Marco the owner nowhere to be seen.
All in all fantastic holiday and we will be back.

We felt there were not enough sun beds but this could have been helped if they kept to their policy on reserving beds, or get more sun beds as there’s plenty of room. Tuesdays are good days for getting sun beds as its change over day.
The food at lunch time was excellent. If you like pizza hut buffets you'll love this, or the Chinese, or the bbq.
Vegetarians are well catered for all day. Hotel and especially the restaurants are well run, the food in general is very nice.
The hotel run a free bus service to Chania. It’s a must do. the little trains are worth a trip to see the real Crete and lovely countryside
First Choice kids clubs had good theme games and our children had lots of fun.
the evening entertainment theme nights were very good

| said: We have just returned from the Louis Creta, what a lovely hotel it was.
Very clean and all the staff are very friendly too.
We have stayed in many all inclusive hotels around the world and this hotel ranks among the best of them.
Due to our family of 6 they were able to cater for us with an inter-joining room.
If I had only one gripe it would be there are signs up saying no reserving sun beds, which is obviously ignored! I couldn't believe we found ourselves getting up at 7am and having to reserve them, so if you like prime pool side location get up early.
IMPORTANT - When sitting around the pool in extreme heat please make sure you wear some kind of swimming shoes, we saw so many people with some serious burns to their feet, even though the flooring is white it can get very hot.
The food is fantastic in the day time, my 4 children never went hungry - munching on Pizza / Chinese / Chips / BBQ and much more.
The food in the evening is a bit samey towards the end of the week but still very nice.
I did hear one person moaning about the food, saying it had made him ill, then saw him sat in the direct sun for 10 hours drinking beer.
The evening entertainment was OK with a different theme ever night.
I must say I would visit again and I know my 4 children were very upset to be coming home.

We stayed in one of the bungalows, which were fairly small but fine, cleaned every day and very cool. The beds were firm but not too bad. Room had a fridge, hairdryer, satellite TV (BBC Worldwide is the only English channel though) and plenty of electricity points.
There was plenty of food to choose from, decent breakfast selection, lunch by the pool bar or the pizza / pasta / salad bar or even the Chinese! Good choice at dinner, always a carvery and if you didn’t like that you could just go and get something else. Ice cream from the pool bar was delicious. Didn’t hear of a single stomach upset. Also, no mosquitoes!
With serve-yourself service to beer, wine and soft drinks at all the bars there were hardly any queues, which was great. The beer was fairly weak (like all inclusive holidays we have been on) but perhaps that’s not such a bad thing! Always a cocktail of the day in a variety of colours and a non-alcoholic one for the kids.
Swimming pools are great with depths to suit everyone. Lots of people got cut feet from the deeper pool as it was a bit rough on the bottom so if you want to join in the water polo take some pool shoes. Also take some ear drops with you, my family always get ear infections on holiday and calling the doctor out is very expensive.
If you want prime position by the pool you need to get up early but there is plenty of space and sun loungers around for the late risers who can’t be bothered with all that! The hotel supply you with a beach towel each so you don’t have to use your own.
The beach is a bit grotty (grey sand and shingle) and the sea got very choppy when we were there - good fun though and it provided a lovely breeze and made a nice change.
There were lots of different nationalities staying at the hotel but everyone got on very well. There was a very harmonious atmosphere. English kids got together with Austrian, German, French, Danish and Greek kids to organise football matches and table tennis games, it was great to see.
The staff were very friendly and helpful but poor old Costas (at the pool bar) could do with being pensioned off now or given a more gentle job, he’s not a happy bunny, especially late at night!
We only left the hotel twice, once on the free bus to Chania, which was very busy with lots of little alleyways full of shops and a harbour full of restaurants. The other trip we took was on the little train to the water park. It took over an hour to get there and stopped so many times squashing in as many people as possible, this was a mistake and we wished we had paid the rep and gone on the bus. The water park is not that big but it is nice and a good day out.
The Animation team were fantastic. Kids loved them and so did we. They were busy all day long organising games and competitions and then put on a great show every night (usually dancing and comedy sketches), then you’d see them up til 2am in the disco. They always made time to stop and have a chat and play with the kids. They really made our holiday very special.
If you have booked to go here, well done, good choice, enjoy it!

| said: This hotel lived upto all our expectations and changed my view on AI. The hotel was very clean and there were plenty of staff keeping the hotel and its grounds in order.
The food was first class and there was a wide variety of choice and plenty of healthy options to choose from plus plenty for the kids too. Anyone that complains about the food are either the type of person that complains about everything or they think they are Gordon Bloody Ramsey.
As has been said before the pizza's are great but you may have to wait a few minutes at peak times but this is no big deal. The self service drinks are an excellent idea as there were never any queues for drinks and the beer was prety good too.
There are a few bars and restaraunts within a 5/10 minute walk from the hotel, we knew when booking that the hotel was a bit isolated but as the hotel is so good there is no real reson to leave other than for a change of senary or to stretch you legs.
The staff were very good and all the reception staff spoke very good English, as with all employees some are better than others but all the ones that I met were very friendly and helpful.
The Animation team do an excellent job organising all the daytime activities and the night time entertainment is prety good too. the first choice kids club was ok but limited to a max number of 30 and this was cancelled a number of times during our stay due to staff illness. The swimming pools are great for the kids.
I would return to this hotel again and if we don't go to Florida next year there is a strong possibility that we will be going back.

| said: Enjoyed this Holiday but feel that the chaos in the restuarant in the evenings spoilt it a little. Basically it was like a glorified canteen & was so so noisy. If you wasn't eating from your plate it was taken away & we saw a number of tables go up for their third course & lose their table in the process. We ended up eating out the 2nd week. Must say though that lunch was great & there was such good choice.
Wasn't impressed at all with the Kids Club. The girls just didn't seem at all interested in their jobs & certainly wasn't what I'd imagine a "kids rep" to be like. The club was closed for a few days as one of the staff was sick, but no cover was given. however the animation team more than make up for the kids clubs reps motivation. honestly these guys are up from morning till night entertaining everyone & they always have a smile on their faces.
The highlight of the Holiday was the pool area though, it really is lovely.
Also there is a lady down by the beach called Dianne & she does beauty treatments. If you get a chance go & see her. I had a facial & it was fab.
All in all a good Holiday but the evening meal let it down for us.

| said: Well......this was probably one of the best family holidays we have ever had!
The hotel and grounds are fantastic, the pools are fantastic. The food and drink, plentiful! its all self service....Brilliant!
Ok so maybe a bit out of the way from it all but i only ventured out the night before we left...no reason to leave the hotel at all! Would highly recommend a bungalow room, facing the pools. Are a bit small but we managed perfectly ok.
The beach ...Hot hot sand and pebbley...swim shoes a must, can be bought shop across from the hotel...sea a bit choppy!...stick with the pools !
My kids enjoyed this holiday so much and made some fantastic friends as did my husband and I.
There is nothing that I can fault about this hotel at all, the staff are lovely, everything about it fab! A lovely mixture of French, german and Italian visitors...makes it so much more cosmopolitan.
The animation team were so friendly and my kids fell in love with them...lots of thanks to Laura, Eddie, Samantha, Luca, Ruby, Fabio and Nickolai. They put so much into the shows and they are truly good.....
I cannot believe we have been back a week already and we really wish we were still there......I would recommend this hotel to anyone, young and old, family or couple(there are places you can escape from the kids!)
After last years disastrous holiday to Turkey this really made up for it....we will be back in 2008, without a doubt(only because we've already booked Menorca for next year)!

The food was excellent with so much choice everyday, though I have to admit for lunch the only thing I ever ate was pizza, the pizza is the best. The entertainment team were brilliant on a night, though their shows weren't always the best, you really had to appreciate the effort they constantly put in. My only regret is that we only went for a week. I like to visit different places but I would very happily return to this hotel again.

The hotel is right on the beach, very rocky and pebbly not much good for bathing on, but not really a problem as the hotel pool areas are great.
Lots of space and plenty going on throughout the day.
Food during the day from the snakc bars was great, the chinese is a must!!!!
You can not fault this hotel, except rooms very small but when you only sleep and shower there what more do you want.
Entertainment a bit basic but they tried very hard and always got the crowd going and the kids loved it.
Would definately recommed a trip to Chania. Beautiful town with lots of shops. Took a taxi for 10 euros.
Plantanias worth a visit too and the train excursion bookable at the hotel was worth the money too.
Fab time had by all.

All the hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. Entertainment well what can I say, a great animation team really made the holiday they were brilliant all day and night non stop.
We will definately be going back if not end of this year then next year for sure.

The bar staff were friendly, polite and served you with a smile. Ice cream was available all day from the pool bar.
The pool was huge , plenty of sunbeds and the children loved going to the kids club.
The animation team were always about of a day involving you in activities in or around the pool and other sport games.
Hotel food was lovely good selection at breakfast, dinner time had a wide variety of food from pizza to meat cooked on the BBQ, evening meal also had a good selection.
The location of the hotel was a bit out of the way from anywhere but the hotel laid on a courtesy coach to take you into Chania.
Entertainment in the evening was brilliant and very funny. The animation staff worked very hard of an evening and included you into shows. They were all very friendly and took time out before and after the show to talk to you.
On the day of leaving the hotel some of the animation team came to wave goodbye to everybody.
I am thinking of returning to this hotel in October as my children and I loved it so much.

| said: Travelled on the 23rd May. Check in very efficient. Stayed in a bungalow room with side sea view and small terrace. Very peaceful although the walls are a little thin - not too good if you have late to bed or early risers either side but it didn't spoil anything.
Buffet breakfast 7 until 10 a.m usual selection of of hot and cold food. Lunch is the best meal of the day. The main buffet restaurant is closed but you can choose from the Pizzeria, Chinese (closed Sunday) or poolside buffet. We found the Chinese and Pizza the best. Evening meal in buffet restaurant. Not bad but I would avoid Gala night! Drinks good and readily available - you can help yourself all day to beer wine and soft drinks which means there is very little queuing. No air conditioning in the main restaurant - a nightmare if you cant get a table on the terrace.
Fantastic pool area, we didn't find any problem getting sunbeds and it didn't feel over crowded. Beach not so good, very pebbly, but quite a laugh trying to get in and out of the sea!
Lovely well kept grounds with an abundance of birds and lizards.
All hotel staff were friendly and polite.
The animation team were great especially with children. Shows a bit hit and miss but they do work hard.
That brings me on to the Frist Choice kids reps. They are quite clearly new and I am not sure they even liked children let alone had any experience. They were really just going through the motions. As soon as they finished the kids disco they couldnt get away quick enough.
The animation team were fantastic with the kids always making time for them. There is a First Choice office which was permanently closed. There was clearly a box in the room where you could exchange books. My sister and I asked them for access on 2 or 3 occasions to swap some books and were faced with "haven't got a key" or a loud sigh. I would be surprised if these girls are still in situ later in the season.

Food selection was very good - pizza great for lunch and snacks. Free ice cream for kids also great.
All the hotel staff were very friendly. The reception staff very helpful.
Kids disco was good but the evening entertainment was very poor. A little near the mark considering it is a family complex. Ended up going out or sitting around pool bar.
Easy to get to Platanius and Chania. Platanius great place to visit in the evenings after meal as only about 10 minutes away on bus - 1 euro each.

You could find somewhere to eat from 7am until midnight recomend the pizza bar:)
Hotel location was fine for us as a family, we went on a bus to Chania, worth a visit in early evening, 1 euro per person for the journey free for under 6.
Hotel staff were very helpful, kids loved mini disco, only moan was obvious friction between animation team, although all were quite talented there was no team work between them and it showed.
This would not stop us returning, as a whole the holiday was excellent!:)

| said: On arrival to the hotel - didnt realise how far away it was from any form of life.
We stayed in the bungalows - when they said the rooms were basic, they really did mean basic. Although the rooms were cleaned daily, we counted the days as to how often our bedding was changed and it was 9 days, we must have been missed, i think it was because we were making the beds in the morning. We have two boys and the bunk beds were alot to be desired.BBC World does not warrant satellite TV. TV in bar area was always on teletex - evening entertainment was ok for kids, but never seen so many adults playing cards in the evenings or looking so bored. Went to Mikes bar 2 hotels down the beach (which I would recommend).
Sunbeds were also a sore point, if you could stay up alnight or an early riser you would be guarenteed a bed, dont feel guilty about putting your towels out, coz the Germans do it, (which there was alot of) but if you had a late night on all the free drink and had a lie in, dont expect a bed.
Now for the good point - Food, There was alway plenty too eat.

The hotel was very clean and cleaners did a fantastic job of tidying before the start of day. The rooms were cleaned every day of our 2 weeks although bedding not changed as often as we would have liked.
Food
The food was of a very high standard, one of the best selections we have ever had with an AI package. With 2 small children there was always something to suit all and snacks were also available nearly 24hrs a day.
Location
Although in a remote area we were able to venture out via the free bus which runs into Chania(a must visit). We went for a few walks to the local shops to pick up bits and bobs (much cheaper than the hotel shop).I would recommend a trip on the little trains as well which visit various places allowing you to explore the local lifr.
Staff
All around the hotel the staff are very pleasant. The kids reps were great and the kids loved them. There were plenty of kids club sessions and even in the height of August there were always plenty of spaces. The animation team were superb, with so much enthusiasm every single day.
Entertainment
This was very basic, a kids disco followed by bingo and a show put on by the animation team but they was fine with us, we all enjoyed ourselves every night.
I would definitely visit this hotel again and possibly other Louis hotels.
My only concern was the rooms. The air conditioning was very much appreciated but the size of the rooms for a family of 4 was a little cramped. We had 2 young children and were a little concerned by the safety of the bunk beds, I feel they could be modernised to a much better standard.
If you are reading this before you go all I will say is have a fantastic time, it is one of the best holidays we have had with the children.

| said: We stayed here almost the second week in July 05.
Gatwick to Chania(Hania)airport 3hrs 40 mins flight and transfer only 40 mins max as we were the only drop off.
This hotel is great for family's with kids and the pools are fantastic and very clean.
The beach isn't that great very stoney, you will need shoes as it does get a little hot under foot.
Maleme is very quite and no where to wonder in the evenings, other than along the beach front. You'll be better off hiring a car while your here. The little Blue train is very slow and does get alittle boring in the end if you go on it too much??!!
The Water Park is a good day out but don't buy it from your reps, go down to the next road they do the same package at 55 euros a saving of 23 euros, you'd spend through using the reps.(It takes 70mins on the little Blue Train)
The on site shop too is very over priced so go and buy all your lotions and water floats a the little super market alone the main road, its half the price and only a short stroll to the next road along. Some nice little bits there too.
Rooms are too small for a couple with more than one child, I'd recommend getting one of the interconnecting rooms.
Rooms were clean enough, sheets and towels changed offen and when needed. Air conditioning didn't work very well, nore the wall radio, TV programs not much cop for kids.
3 euros a day for safety boxes in room to be payed at the end of the week. Small fridge and hair dryer, soap and shampoo dispencers in bathroom.
Animation term were good day and night for kids and adults, something for everyone!
The Italian lunch Resturant with there Pizza's were out of this world and not to be missed or the profitteroles, fresh fruit and so much more.
Dinner was dissapointing as you had to be there by 9pm or all the freshly cooking food would be packed away for the evening, no dress code either for men it seems??
Sunbeds- you will have to be up by 6.30-7am or you won't get one, sad but true!
Self serve beer, red & white wine, Tea, coffee, and fizzy drinks and water. Daily change of cocktails at all three bars.
They have two lifts here but they seem to have a will of there own, you could be going up and down for ages if your not careful, so beware!
Theres an on site disco which starts at 11pm till around 2am I think? drinks only free till midnight sadly, but you can buy if you like.
There was one grumpy old barmen with grey hair which seemed to have a problem with everone, but all others were great.
Great Holiday had by all!!

Fantastic weather, nice clean hotel, although rooms were a little on the small side. Great pools, but be prepared to get up at 7.30am in order to secure sunbeds, as everyone puts their towels out early!
All nationalities practice this! Food was very good, varied and plenty of choice. The pool bar staff were a little bit rude, but this shouldn't put anyone off.
The beach was quite clean but only pebbles no sand - so a bit uncomfortable to walk on. We took a trip on one of the little trains organised by the english lady at the hotel - (Blue Lagoon trip), this was nice as it meant getting out of the hotel for a while and seeing a little bit of Crete.
Our son used the kids club a couple of times and really enjoyed himself - the girls were great with all the kids.
He loved the mini-disco every evening and generally the entertainment was quite good, especially the Fire show.
Generally a good hotel I would recommend too families.

| said: Very enjoyable stay. Good mix of of nationalities, English, French, Germans and encouraging to see many Greek families there.
Mainly a family resort.
AI was very good at this hotel, lots of nice salads for starters, good choice of hot food, some of which was cooked in front of you, also veggie options, and choice of 4 or 5 desserts, various cheeses, fresh fruit and usual soft scoop ice cream.
Lots of choice at breakfast hot and cold. Lunch served at pool bar and Italian restaurant, where fresh pizzas are cooked to order (heard people say they were so good they wanted to marry the guy who cooked them!)
Pools were excellent, managed to get four sunbeds every day first week even though we were middle two weeks in July. (Second week only bothered getting two as we realised kids weren't using theirs much.)Grounds also v.nice.
Hotel shop expensive but only as you would expect. Just used it for newspapers and sweets. Things like suncream and flip-flops were v.expensive and better to walk across road to shop opposite hotel.
Hotel is isolated and may not suit everyone, we had car for middle 7 days of holiday and would recommend this otherwise you might get a bit 'stir-crazy' on a 14 dayer. Probably not needed if only there a week.
Room v.small two twins and a bunk bed, with a 10 & 12 year old we were at full capacity another year we would probably need two rooms which would increase the cost dramatically.
Entertainment of an evening could have been better, however during the day the hotel animation team could not have worked harder, doing aqua aerobics boules, pool volley ball, beach volley ball, kids football etc etc all in about 40 degrees. They were brilliant and had a good balance of encouraging people without being too ott.

| said: Just returned from a fantastic holiday feeling relaxed and totally pampered. The Louis Creta was recommended on a previous A/I holiday by friends we met there. They were quite right when they said it was one of the best hotels they had stayed in.
The staff are very attentive and so friendly and helpful especially with the kids. It is spotless everywhere, very well maintained with attention to detail. Frazer particularly liked the enormous pools and looked forward to playing all the pool games throughout the day.
The food was excellent and enjoyed by all of us the diet went out of the window!!! It is located in quite a quiet resort which we like, although we did walk through the village and found some lovely tavernas and local tourist shops.
The next village on is Platanas, it is really nice with a lovely long avenue of shops. Went on a trip to the waterpark travelling on "The Big Train" which you can book in the hotel at the reception. You are picked up directly from the hotel and the ride was just as exciting for the kids as the day out at the waterpark - Highly Recommended!! The hotel provides a free bus service into the town of Chania which has an array of shops, markets and cafes they even have there very own "euro" land shop!
The childrens club is run by Becky and Kate and was throughly enjoyed by Amelia who is normally very shy, they had special early suppers where they all sat together and then went back to the club until mini-disco time! They put 100% into all the activites and entertainment and Amelia gained confidence which was a pleasure to watch! The animation team were a group of brilliant people and after running all day activities they put their heart and soul into the evening shows.
We met some wonderful families, the kids made lots of new friends and we are already recommending this hotel to our family and friends.

The food was excellent, buffet breakfast, lunch and evening meal. In the main restaurant the children had their own section where they could help themselves. Plenty to choose from. The pizzeria at lunch time was excellent the best pizzas I've ever had. Drinks including beer were on tap so you just helped yourself.
The location was a bit remote, nowhere really to go in the evenings. The entertainment in the evening leaved a lot to be desired, it wasn't very good at all. If you send your kids to the kids club, be prepared to pay for most things.
The beach is a pebble one so younger children might not be very keen on it. But the pool area more than makes up for that. There is a huge main pool a smaller one and a kids pool. Plenty of sunbeds.

The kids pool with a gentle sloping pool was excellent for the kids. The snacks served during the day were excellent especially the pizzas, just help yourself to as much as u want, plenty of salad options too.
The entertainment team was superb during the day, always doing doing something. It was the same team at night and at times it was a bit hit and miss, but they put a lot of effort in to the nightly shows. The kids loved the mini disco every night.
Overall we really enjoined our time here and we would definitley come back one day, and have no hesitation in recommending it to anybody. Overall a superb holiday.

| said: Just arrived home after spending one week at this hotel....excellent time had by all.
This is our first taste of "all inc" and would recommend this hotel to anyone.
We arrived at Chania airport where we were then transferred to our hotel which took approx 40 mins (our hotel was the only drop off). The food was incredible especially the pizzas which where freshly made from 10 till 3. The beer and local wine was on tap and you just poured your own.
The maids did an excellent job cleaning the room.
The pool was massive (I believe it is the largest
on Crete) and the kids loved every minute of it.
So all in all an excellent holiday and I cant wait to go back.

The food is lovely especially the daytime snacks at the pool bar. There is everything you can think of to choose from at breakfasts and always loads of choice at evening meal times. The kids have their own little section so if youve got fussy eaters like us theyll be alright.
The drinks during the day are on tap so you just help yourself and the local beers and wine are very good.
The pools are spotlessly clean and there are loads of free sunbeds.

| said: It was very nice there the beach was right behind the entertainment set too. There was a lot of singing and the kids were singing when they go to know the songs.
Staff were there when you needed them.
The food variety was incredible. My family are very fussy eaters but we ate almost every meal we enjoyed every minute.
The kids liked dancing and in the morning we'd wake with no kids because they'd be up with suncream on out in the pool eating what they wanted with their all inclusive bands.
It was a very pleasent and I'd recommend it a million times over and definitely go again.

| said: Could only enter this as Aug 2002 but really went in 2001. Total confidence it will be still as good - priced up for 2005 but wouyld cost me £5,019 as son is 15 and need 2 rooms - hence I won't be returning but would have otherwise if price had been better
Back from Louis Creta Princess and am pleased to say we had a brilliant holiday.
Here are some of my comments on the place.
Resort - Quiet with only a couple of bars/ tavernas/ shops
Hotel - set on the outskirts of Maleme which is quiet hence the all inclusive deal. Hotel has 2 shop in the basement - a jewellers and a hope which sells everything you might need from sweets to inflatables (cheaper over the road though). 2 restaurants - one for half board (mainly Germans, Italians and French) and the other for all-inclusive. Pleasant reception with some leather sofas, also conference rooms where welcome meetings are held. Rooms on upper floors (which I gather we similar layout to the Bungalow we head). A nightclub on pool level- lower level but noise carried outside when doors were left open. Check in was quick and efficient - wristbands issued to all inc guests. Bags were taken to our room for a small tip
Bars - 3 bars
- one in the hotel which is the only bar to serve the snacks (choice of 2 hot snacks (small type pasties or nuggets) - cold meats, cheese, bread etc to make own sandwiches, biscuits and cake). Here you can get Vodka etc but cocktails not allowed in all inc. However they do lovely cafe frappe and there is seating indoors (TV here) and on a nice terrace with comfortable seating
Pool bar.
Cocktails of the day available here plus all alcoholic beverages plus hot & cold drinks from self service vending machines. Ice cream ( 3 flavours- strawberry, choc and vanilla) available all day. Breakfast could be taken here and was exactly the same as in the hotel. Lunchtimes there was BBQ meat/ chips/salad/fruit/desserts.
Entertainment bar
open through day but mainly used on an evening. This was situated away from the hotel near the beach and the stage where evening entertainment took place was here.
Bungalows
large wardrobe with lots of hangers, twin beds and bunk beds, dressing table and 2 wide drawers. Hairdryer, TV and even a full soap dispenser near sink and full shampoo dispenser near bath/shower. . Terrace with 2 chairs and table. Ground floor excellent as it was possible to pull loungers over and sunbathe outside the room. Larger trees nearby hence cricket noise which you soon got used to.
Only point to note is some bungalows (including ours) were near to the pool bar and although Ideally situated for getting drinks/breakfast/ being near pool there was music from the pool bar from 8am - 2am. We did on a number of occasion’s phone reception after midnight to ask for the music to be turned down - which it always was. The disco in the hotel also left their doors open and the noise travelled across the grounds. I must say this was the only down of the holiday - we suffered sleep depravation and resorted to buying earplugs to help block the noise. It is worthy to note that on the last 2 days of our hol the music wasn't started until 10am which was an improvement.
Restaurant
Good variety of wellcooked and presented food. Plenty of choice and separate buffet for children. Theme nights - Greek and Italian. Self service wine, soft drinks and hot drinks available. Not air conditioned and the outside seating of the terrace was nicer as it was cooler
First Choice Reps - Greg and Claire - onsite office which was staffed regularly -efficiently run. Swap shape operated re books - bring one & take one and boxes for guests to leave items - sunscreen, shampoo, washing powder, inflatables etc. This was useful and I found some conditioner I was running short of and in return left hair gel, hair spray, sun lotions etc for the next guests.
3 Pools - Fantastic. There is an activity pool where alot of water based games are held. A smaller childrens pool .
A large free form pool which seems to divided into 3 sections by the bridges which go to a centre island. One area there is slowly graduated and ideal for supervised children.
Entertainment
Resident multi National team lead by Loui
Loui is charismatic and a joy to behold. His enthusiasm rubs off onto his team and the guests. Most evening there is children’s disco 8.30-9.00pm Bingo Bango (which incorporates some guest interaction) 9.45-10.30pm and a show provided by the animators and once a week there is a Greek night
A club dance is performed every lunchtime by the pool at 1.00pm and at the close of the evening entertainment. It is very popular with guests.
Children’s club - well run with a variety of activities. Does not run on a Thursday (day off)
For example, Every Friday early tea - 6.30 - 7.00pm, Games 7.30-9.00pm then video with popcorn 9.30pm - 11.00pm. Early teas are available most nights. 2 hours activities most days and 2 hours at least 3 nights a week. Childrens Talent show ever Saturday night at 9.00pm.
Play area
This takes the form of a Giant Pirate ship - it is enormous and a source of great enjoyment to all children
Beach - mainly shingle but has good sunbeds with umbrellas and a welcome breeze. Free pedaloes & canoes. Banana boat for small fee
Overall an excellent holiday the only hiccup was night time noise. Hope this information is helpful to someone

The food was great but was nice to eat somewhere else a few times meet lots of good people even though we were with friends.
Kids still made other friends entertainment was slow to start with but we helped to liven up would love to go back but girls are teenagers now so would cost to much money but highly recommend it.
The year we went was 1999 it was better than broucher said as they had done it up and was still improving whilst we were there but was not a problem.

| said: Have been reading up on where we're going this year so thought I'd leave some info on where we stayed in 2002!!
To be honest the hotel layout was fantastic. Nice hotel, excellent pools, a couple of restaurants, snack bar, poolside bar etc - really well laid out (it was refurbished in early 2000).
However, being multi national I personally thought they tried too hard to cater for everyones tastes - meal themes were German one night, Italian the next then English - ok but as long as they cater for the children I tend to enjoy local cuisine when I go abroad.
Entertainment was good. The animation team did well for both adults and children.
The location is a little bit too far away from anything though. Be warned that Maleme can get windy aswell. I recommend that you take advantage of the courtesy bus into Chania while you're there.
Rooms were disappointing aswell. 30 degree heat and all the air conditioning could do was make a noise!! And the bed for the child was a hard sofa.
Sorry if anyone disagrees with me - don't be put off though - the Louis Creta is a quality place and Crete is lovely.....just maybe not again!!
