| said: I have just come back from a most enjoyable weekend at the Norbreck Castle, OK it is a bit out of the centre but the views from the bar and room were excellent.
I have read reviews from other people saying the food was bad well I have stayed in 4 star hotels all over Europe and the food in the Norbreck was as good.
I got excellent value and would definitley return.

| said: The hotel wasn't that bad. We had a sea view although the room was clean it was also dated.
The food was okay would have liked, like many have already said fried eggs for breakfast.
We booked at the last minute for the pigeon show at the winter gardens so the location was a bit far out for us.
The staff all seemed very pleasant.
The drinks were reasonably priced in the bar.
While we were there we had two false fire alarms in the same night which didn't bother us as we were still in the bar, it must have been awful for those who were in bed.
If we visit again we would probably book for somewhere nearer the Winter Gardens.

| said: Arrived 3.00pm room not ready, got into room 6.30pm queues for hours out of the door.
Noise in room from extractor fan, complained three times 7.00 8.00 and 9.30 got it fixed at 10pm. Breakfast was chaos no tables cleaned dirty crockery everywhere, no staff clearing tables, large queues for food, I had to clear a table, take knives and forks off already used tables, no cereal left, or juices. Got the manager out to complain, she said it was all Britannia hotels fault they would not give enough staff for the amount of people in the hotel.
Sat in the evening waiting for cabaret then we were told sorry due to a technical fault it is cancelled. I paid good money and got very poor service all round.
Will never go there again, I told the staff so. Bet I will not get my money back.

| said: Went for sons birthday for a special treat. Cost £129 for b and b was totally ripped off. Room dingy, blood on bed sheets, cracked bath panel, dirty room full of dust, soap dish hanging off wall.
Breakfast queued for 1 hour to get into restaurant, then another hour in queue for food, then food inedible. Staff rude and ignorant.
Paid for a la carte evening meal, only 5 choices of each course, obviously not a la carte, veg and potatoe balls were of frozen variety not fresh.
Also had to queue for 1 hour for room when checking in, this hotel is atrocious. In room only 2 hand towels for 4 of us. Never again.

| said: We booked a four night break to the Norbreck castle with our 2 young children. I had been on the site before we left and was quite worried but we decided to go and make up our own minds.
When we arrived we got the room keys and hoped for the best, well it was worse than we could have imagined filthy windows on the inside, curtains hanging off ripped and torn bedding, old bathroom with strange pipe sticking out into the bath, we went back to reception and demanded another room and to their credit the staff did their best and off we went again with 2 new room keys these rooms were better but still filthy thick dust on everything and hairs in the bath.
We unpacked and went to dinner what a joke; it was like a works canteen free for all food just piled into the containers messy and dirty, slices of cake and pie just left out uncovered with flies on really terrible.
We had decided that enough was enough and we would leave in the morning, told the staff but they seem to have heard it all before lots of others complaining and agreed to a refund without any fuss.
I would advise anyone thinking of going here to think again there is no concept of even the most basic cleanliness, its as though a load of students most of them without basic English have just been put in and told run this hotel well you can guess the rest.

| said: We stayed at the Norbreck castle only for one night. which we found was enough!
When we arrived in our room there was a double bed with a bunk bed and two chairs wardrobe, TV, the carpet looked like it hadn't been hoovered in years. Bathroom was basic but no toilet roll I had to complain to the staff and they said they would get some sent up to our room which did not happen! We had to ask a cleaner outside the lift.
We visited the pool about 12pm and were told its only open for children between the times of 2pm till 8pm. So had to come back. When we did go back we had about ten Min's in the pool and we were told to go in a single lane to the pool because there was a fitness class being held in the main part of the pool. So more than 10 people were swimming and staying in a single lane part including other kids.
It was disappointing because no-one told us this was happening when we signed in to use the pool, so we couldnt use the pool to full advantage.
When we went back to our room to shower my daughter almost scalded herself as the water was far to hot! and we couldn't lower the setting it was stuck, so had to run a bath instead!
Next morning we ate breakfast lots of staff walking round dropping plates. The breakfast was awful disgusting. The sausages was over cooked and tasted awful and the bacon was to hard.
All in all we was disappointed in this hotel and will not be returning.

I had read various reports about this hotel but our experience was great, the staff fine the hotel was clean and tidy.
The only draw back is the location it's to far to walk from the centre of Blackpool but we did know this before booking but the trams and buses are regular just outside the hotel.
We would go back to this hotel.

| said: We stayed for the easter weekend and what a fantastic time we had.
We stayed before during the refurb and vowed never to return but thought we'd give it a go and we were glad we did.
the hotel was spotlessly clean and the staff very polite especially in the castles restaurant.
the choice of food was superb if not let down by the poor starters, but the mains and deserts were lovely being on a buffet style, help yourself to as much as you want.
the system for sittings was good as the hotel was full and at breakfast over 800 guest would descend on the breakfast buffet.
the entertainment was varied, boring sixties singers to fantastic magic acts,a fabulous young duo who sang and entertained the kids and of course the fantastic magic malky the hotels children entertainer.
the room was spacious and although we didn't have a sea view was comfortable and serviced everyday including easter sunday.
all in all the hotel has improved big time and we will definateley return again.

We had holes in our bedding and I had to ask housekeeping for new sheets which they changed twice before we got any thing decent.
The entertainment was brilliant 5 star quality.
The location of the hotel was nice where it was because you could get a tram right outside but it was a bit far from blackpool. The hotel staff were very nice and helpful. I would visit this hotel again.

| said: We booked for the Turkey and tinsel midweek.
The entertainment was arranged for the oldies so for 2 of us we were better off reading in our rooms.
We could not see where the re-furb had been spent, our rooms looked like something from the seventies. Sea view was nice if you could see it through the grime on the windows.
Breakfast was ok but staff could not keep up with the guests.
Dinner was awful. I, not liking veg much especially when boiled dry asked for chips and was told they were only for kids menu. Asked senior chef and got some within 3 minutes.
Staff were very rude and not very accommodating.
We asked for tea at the table at breakfast but it never arrived on 2 occasions.
The lift broke down twice that we know of in as many days including our last day. We were on the 5th floor with heavy luggage. We waited for a poor porter to take them down the stairs.
I have stayed in a lot of hotels and have had a better service from a B&B.

I would not stay there ever again.
Very poor service when you complain, we had to swap rooms 3 times and could not get a refund to find a new hotel to stay at.
The entertainment only caters for old people and is very poor.
This hotel needs a complete refurb.

| said: I thought this place had been renovated, and we would enjoy a modern,up to date hotel.
We even paid extra for a sea view. Well we weren't cheated on the seaview, although the windows were very mucky.
The room though was a different matter, it was like revisiting my childhood, dark scratched furniture, double bed behind door pushed upto wall, could only access from one side.
The bathroom was a joke could not turn around in it. No hand basin in it, had to come out of bathroom after using loo to wash hands in corner of bedroom. Although could enjoy seaview while brushing teeth. Room only had one chair, so only one of us could be seated while looking at seaview or tv.
Bedding was clean, but it was only a standard double bed, to small for us to be comfortable in as were are used to a larger bed.
Plus side wallpapered recently, carpet newish, plenty of tea and coffee,tv had 6 channels, toileteries provided and the best part was the power shower, that worked very well.
No room to dry yourself in bathroom though, and shower screen could have done with a good scrub.
Location wise the hotel is a couple of miles out of blackpool centre, but we thought that was a benefit as it is quite at night time no yobs walking past yelling and shouting. Tram and bus stops outside hotel, plenty of parking, and promenade over road looked nice for a walk.
Communal areas were a mish mash of styles and furniture.
We had breakfast 2 mornings, and managed to get a good feed, we opted to sit in the conservatory area for it, which is light and airy.
The inner dining room reminded me of school dinners long rows of tables set out for communal use, not quite the style we wanted for a couples holiday.
Tried one of the bars one night, not the main one as it had a noisy crooner in, and we wanted intimate couple time. It was very dim, on closer inspection you could see why, furniture shoddy and not very nice.
I would not visit this hotel again, especially at the price we paid, I think the hotel misrepresents it self as a modern hotel, which it would have been in the 1970's, the information states it has been modernised. I think wallpapered is nearer the truth.

| said: When we arrived at the hotel there was still renovation work going on. The car park is full of pot holes and the building looks like it could do with a good re-paint.
The reception area is nice but the staff behind the check-in counter were messing around phoning people up.
The big entertainment/bar area was nice and we liked the entertainment we received but there was litter round where we were sitting.
The pool looks ok but didn't use any of the facilities.
We had our evening meal in the hotel, I had gammon and my partner had steak and ale pie but 5 mins after eating he was throwing it all back up.
The room was on the small side but the best part of the hotel.
I would never stay here again! It's not what you'd expect from a 3* accommodation! Don't be fooled by the lit up photo you see on the booking. It looks nothing like it.

We only stayed 1 night but planning on staying for 2 nights next xmas so we can make more use of the excellent facilities. The entertainmentment was very good. Disco till 1.30 dance the night away. 3 course dinner couldn't fault any of it. Staff was very helpful as the hotel is large we did get abit lost but help was at hand.
Breakfast was very good everything you could think of to eat. Would reccomend it to any one

| said: Renovation work still on-going but largely un-obtrusive.
All inclusive package was a joke as their were 5 coach loads of people on this deal and as it did not apply till 7.30pm the result was 25-30 minute queues at the bar to get one drink per person and it was so busy that the minute you left your seat for any reason someone else "snaffled"it.
While the cabaret turns were good, the entertainment area was far too small to accomodate even half of the guests and that was not the hotel full to capacity.
I had booked in there for Christmas and have since cancelled due to this experience.
Meals were buffet style and very good but waiting staff were Generally untrained foreign students and therefore inefficient at clearing used plates etc before next course.

The rooms we had were comfortable and clean.
The evening meal was not cordon bleu but believe me being a veggie I have had worse. However, breakfast was very good with lots to choose from.
The hotel staff were friendly and accommodating.
The entertainment was what you would expect from a hotel in Blackpool.
The hotel is quite a way from the centre of Blackpool but the tram ride in is nice. We payed £318 for a three day break. This included dinner bed and breakfast and two rooms.
We think we received good value for money.

| said: The Norbreck Castle Hotel was the worst hotel we have ever experienced and is a disgrace to the Britannia Group.
After queueing in the ghastly reception area we were given a derelict room. Wallpaper falling off the wall, threadbare carpet and a view over rubbish through a broken dirty window.
Immediately complained and told we were given the "wrong room" and transferred to a better one. Lift not working. Should have just walked away but was tired after a long drive.
Predictably, breakfast was chaotic. No service, no tea or coffee offered, queues, everyone moaning and saying "Never Again".
No point in complaining to Britannia as it's probably the same today. Unbelievable place. Left the next morning.

| said: I stayed at the Norbreck castle on a 5 night conference with my training company. There were about 400 guests in my party ageing from 16-18 year old.
I thought the food was nice.
My room was nice enough but I did see a few more which weren’t as lucky as me.
The facilities are good they have a nice Jacuzzi, swimming pool, sauna and steam room. The gym is also very nice as well.
The bar area is nice and cozy looking.
Not in a very good location quite far from theme park, illuminations and I couldn't find any pubs or clubs nearby. Just a few nice pizza shops.
Recommend for a large conference but if you are a group of young people looking to party, or family staying for the theme park I don’t recommend the Norbreck castle.

It looks lovely in the brochures all lit up at night but this is just an illusion.
Inside the hotel needed a good clean, was old and smelt of dampness and the bedding left a lot to be desired.
This aside the leisure facilities, entertainment, especially for kids, and the food were all good.
