| said: We arrived in the middle of the night and were swiftly checked in before we were shown our room - which felt like 3 miles away when half sleeping and pulling along our suitcases. We fell asleep and when we woke up at 9 a.m there were no free sun loungers (you have to be out by 6:30 am to get one). We had a small room which did not have a safe, no coat hangers and the bathroom and hall flooded when you had a shower. We complained 3 times to reception but nothing happened so we went to see out holiday rep - he was great and got our room changed within half an hour!! New room was big and bright and there was a safe!! The maid cleaned the room well but never did the balcony and she made it clear that she wanted a good tip. Talking of tips, be prepared to tip very well to get a good service - if you don't you become invisible.
Pool area was clean as was the pool. The staff at the bar beside the pool were rather rude and would ignore kids waiting for a drink. Not all is all inclusive. Diet coke, local or imported vodka, gin, brandy, freshly squeezed orange juice are not part of the all inclusive!!!! Food was so bad, we had to eat out more often than not. We were served raw chicken and when we pointed it out we never even got an apology.
I would never ever go back there

| said: Stayed one week at the Hammamet Gardens - we had a lovely large room and the maid kept it very clean and put flowers on the bed and in the bathroom. Always plenty to eat in the resturant bread out of this world. The beach was good but at least 10 mins walk you could have a ride in the horse and cart just tip driver. The entrance to the beach not to clever but once you get to the sunbeds - good. The only down side to this hotel is that its not truly all inclusive - bar closes at 11pm then you have to pay and also only brandy and two Tunisan alcoholic drinks. Also very little english spoken by the entertainment team. English guests seem to keep together. Made lots of friends. If only you could move the hotel nearer to the beach then it would be better. The pools are great and staff very friendly.

The food for adults was very good but poor for the kids not much snacks day or night that the kids like.
Smoking was a big problem you cannot get away from it.

| said: We had a nightmare!! Although the Family Suite room we were given was large (had 2 bedrooms), the sink tap in the bathroom was broken, the bath tub was filthy, we had to keep requesting new bath towels & toilet papers everyday (as no servicing was apparent even when were out all day), and cockroaches scampering across our room scared the living daylight of our two young daughters (and me!!).
Food variety was limited & repetitive. Don't be fooled by 'all inclusive' deals, as there were many restrictions, for example children could not have snacks before 11 am (and it usually means just a small cold cheese roll) and had to queue.
When we caught the waiter adding water to soft drinks (coke) to fill up the glass, he denied it & called us a liar.
After 5 painful days (of 2 weeks holiday), when we threatened to leave, the hotel manager confiscated our belongings and forced us to pay hefty £377 cancellation charge & sign a note saying we had no complaints against his hotel.
We did what was asked as we just wanted to get out and although we tried to recover our costs through the tour operator, they refused & said their hands were tied. We arrived back home so traumatised that we just want to forget the whole event.
My advice, if you have children, for their sake, do not put them through such an experience, and stay away from this hotel.

| said: Hotel was fairly clean, carpets were brushed rather than hoovered. I think they were hoovered once a week. Toilets in reception and pool areas were quite dirty, often there was no toilet paper, toilet seats were broken.
Food was quite good but repetative. Drinks service was slow, on a couple of occassions we had finished our meal before the drinks came. Some waiters and bar staff quite miserable, but it was ramadam when we were there so they may have been a bit tired / hungry. If you took the time to get to know them they opened up and service improved.
Location not brilliant but as we had 2 small children we did not leave the pool too much as they were very happy there.
We did not see much in the way of entertainment, on the first day there was some aqua aerobics but that only happened once.
The camel ride excursion was an 'experience', one camel rolled before it got up, with 2 people still sitting on it!
Life guard at the pool very helpful and friendly, although some people interpret their friendliness as harrasment, they love children.
Go with an open mind and do not expect european standards, we enjoyed our holiday but would not return to this hotel again.

| said: The Hotel was clean and tidy at all times, the cleaning ladies could be seen all day with buckets of bleach water washing floors till the evening.
The hotel is quite impressive, not at all what I expected when reading the reviews.
The food was hot and always something for everyone, you must remember if you want MacDonald's stay at home. Fresh pancakes for breakfast, cereals, hot and cold milk, drinks, squashes, continental breakfasts as well as omelette's, hard boiled eggs or 3 minute eggs, the choice was endless.
Pizza'a available from 10.30 til very late, pancakes available from 11am, sandwiches etc all day. Lunch a varied menu every day and evening meal, different yet again.
The location is also good, it's quiet, the beach is 5 minutes walk away.. with water sports jet ski, paragliding, banana boats etc.
The staff made the holiday, very friendly, my mobile didn't work while away so I was able to use the Directors Secretary's office to send a couple, how nice is that.
Hickle our waiter for the 2 weeks was lovely, and the animation team are wonderful, aqua aerobics, dancing, archery, darts, ping pong, football etc, Kimo is one in a million, Issam and Sabry are great too, on our last night we all got a bit teary, they did too.
The entertainment was so funny every night...I would go back to this hotel again, a lovely place, take a look for yourselves.. I was dreading it and it's the best holiday I've ever had.

| said: We stayed at the Hammamet Garden Resort, in June for 1 week, we arrived at Tunis airport, (which is nearer than monastir), we had a mini bus just for us, which was nice, as there was no other stops on route to our hotel. We arrived at the hotel to a very warm reception, we stayed in room 538, which is a suite, (a must for people with children) it had 2 bedrooms, 2 balconies with pool view, and it was a very large suite.
The reception staff were very helpful, especially sonya, she is a lovely woman and more than helpful. We were all inclusive, as we like the fact that the kids are'nt always pestering us for a drink, ice cream etc, you have to sign for everyhting you get, but you get used to this.
When we got there we tipped the waiter in the resturant 10 dinar,(about £5) and he reserved us our table evey night, got us drinks as soon as we sat down, the food is ok, and I mean ok, they do different dishes every night.
The animation team are an asset to the hotel, they keep the kids amused every day and night, they do bowling archery, water aerobics, dancing in the pool, they really are good. Overall the hotel is very clean, the maid cleans the rooms everyday, the pool is lovely, the people are friendly and we had a lovely time, when we left the kids said can we go back.
All I can say is we did not pay a fortune for 1 week all inclusive, so really we got what we paid for, and im glad we went as we really had a fantastic holiday.

From the first day things looked bad. A 4 star hotel that's cold, cleanliness was a basic floor wipe/tidy.
The food was disgraceful, bland trays of tasteless mush, which if uneaten one meal, you got re named for the next day. Same awful breakfast, starters alike. You really had to be here to sample fare?
Hotel on the grimmest street, no shops bleak view. We did not feel safe outside the hotel grounds.
Staff are ok,you do get bothered by the same camel/ride/salesman everyday.
Entertainment what a joke, Tuesday karaoke and an awful duo another night. We took a taxi ride to the Medinas in Hammamett, and would not recommend this to any family that has small children.
This has been the worst holiday ever. Be sure you want to come here.

| said: Christmas in a Muslim country was different...... There was no tacky christmas music being rammed down your throat everywhere you went. however, The Hammamet Garden Resort pulled out all the stops on Christmas Eve.
All the Guests, including many children gathered in the foyer at 6.30 pm to greet father christmas.... the atmosphere was electric. Each child recieved a gift.
Then it was into the dining room for a beautiful table waited 5 course meal with entertainment between each course. It really was a fantastic night.
On reading some of the awful reviews on this site I ask myself this Question..... Did some of these people ever leave the hotel? There are plenty of things to do in Hammamet and the surrounding area.
Camel riding, horse riding, Quad biking, Plenty of places of interest to visit, and of course retail therapy.... this is where you HAVE to haggle to get the best bargains.... If you just go with the flow.... Laugh a lot and keep smiling... start with a ridiculously low offer you will soon get the hang of it.The Tunisian people are very very friendly.
Back to the Hotel.... the outdoor pools are far too cold at christmas...but the indoor pool, although small, was great and spotlessly clean.
Our maid did an excellent job on the room everyday.
The bar staff and the waiters work really hard and are always polite and willing to please....The all inclusive drinks are local and more than adequate.
The food in the dining room is plentiful, varied, tasty and fresh. the dining room staff are friendly and very efficient. All inclusive drinks are served at your table.
All inclusive alcholic drinks end at 11pm....but all inclusive sandwiches, tea coffee and soft drinks are avalable 24 hrs a day.
The general appearance ot the hotel is kept spotlessly clean.
For the price we British pay... who could possibly ask for more.
My wife and I enjoyed ourselves so much that just 10 days after arriving home we returned to the Hammamet Garden for another 2 weeks.
A more pleasant and happy hotel would be hard to find..... We hope to return soon

If you have a daughter of 10 years plus be warned many of the younger male staff will try to molest her this happened to many families while we were at this hotel and the children’s entertainer was one of them doing it.
The food is dreadful and the service is worse if you as we did go all inclusive you are treated awful you queue for your drinks waiters ignore you.
One chap left his glasses on his table in the restaurant and when he went to find them the waiter tried to charge him some money before he would return them.
There is no daytime entertainment the hotel is full of cigarette smoke
EVERYBODY IS ON THE MAKE AT THIS HOTEL
We thankfully were moved that said the management tried to force me to write a letter saying I was happy with this dump and said he would charge me money 6 days room rental if I refused he backed down when I said I would call the UK.

Hotel itself is gorgeous very clean. Rooms were cleaned daily by the maids who were very friendly left clean towels everyday.
Food was very different to what we were used to back home but we loved eating the Tunisian food trying new stuff.
Staff were excellent!!! Would do absolutely anything for us. After the hotel ended around 12 midnight the entertainment staff would take us out the hotel to the local nightclubs. We all had the time of our lives and are definitely booking up to go in May this year. Can’t wait to see all the staff again miss them loads.
So to all entertainment staff and bar staff get ready for 2 weeks of none stop partying after dark at Latinos again. See you all soon. Would advise anyone to visit this hotel a true taste of Tunisia.

| said: This holiday was our honeymoon. Upon arrival we were really impressed, even though the transfer to it had taken almost two hours!
On arrival it was about midnight and we found that all the young single girl groups were taken care of before the couples, even though my hubby and I had entered the hotel first we were the last to be spoken to by the staff. However the room was clean and quiet.
The food was ok, we had upset stomachs towards the end of our stay and I in particular was in a lot of pain. Also a word of warning about the Cleftico...one guest managed to set herself alight with the fire keeping it hot underneath. As soon as the staff took her out of the dining room a chef was put on to cut the meat. Needless to say this disturbed us greatly!
The entertainment was good, however as per a previous remark, the entertainment staff were very interested in the women and it became quite annoying at times. However, apart from this they were talented.
The pool was clean and the bars were well stocked.
Beware however, we were hassled several times a day by people in the hotel trying to sell us quad bike rides, camal rides, gallion trips and massages. They followed you around and even woke you if you were asleep by the pool. They do not take no for an answer.
Tunisia itself is very hassling! The medinas very much so, and several times it became too much and we left. Even the walk to the beach people tried to sell you stuff and again on the beach.
We enjoyed our stay but would not go again.

I love this place, the staff here are amazing and so helpful. They literally bend over backwards to please you.
The rooms are spotlessly clean with clean towels every day and the rooms are swept and mopped daily. The decor in this hotel is truly beatiful marble everywhere and the balcony where the rooms look down is amazing.
The beach was something you see on posters.....A DREAM!!! Honestly white sand and clear water..Wow I have to take a breath thinking of it.
I travel a lot I have been America, all parts of Spain, Turkey, Greeece, Cyprus and France and they don't compare to Tunisia. Although its a poorer country that means nothing there, the people are what make Tunisia so great. They are so welcoming to the English. Honestly they make you feel like royalty.
The clubs and bars are so relaxed you can do your own thing without anyone taking no notice of you.
I love this place and this is going to be the only place I go on holiday now for the rest of my life.

The staff (including reception, waiters, bar staff and animation) where fantastic. The waiters let us go behind the bar and serve, we helped the waiters serve meals and we danced with the animation at night. Although the snoopy disco was for children i was encourged to joining in and I'm 19.
I travel with 5 others the oldest being 89 and he had a brilliant time the staff where alway on hand to help him and fetch what he needed.
Yes some of the staff try it on with the younger females, but you get this where ever you go in Tunisia.
We got all staff members to join in games/jokes that we were playing (they had never seen water bomb till I got there).
The food was different to stuff I eat at home but was great and the waiters would try and prepare anything you asked them to. (You have to ask for a orange for your pancake in the morning).
Overall a fantastic hotel, great staff and can't wait to go back. I'm counting down the days already.

After reading previous reports I was really concerned about staying at this hotel. OK it is not the Ritz but for the price you are paying it is good value.
Do not expect European standards, this is Africa.
The whole place was regularly cleaned, including the paths in the garden being hosed down every morning.
The rooms are plain but comfortable and serviced every day. Every member of staff I came in contact with was friendly and helpful.
The food is local and people visiting this area should expect local cuisine and not steak and chips, chicken and chips, burger and chips, sausage and chips, need I go on. This was the main basis of the complaints from British people when we were staying there. Each morning there was and egg station with very good freshly cooked omlettes or fried eggs if you preferred. Freshly cooked crepes plus a huge variety of other dishes. At lunch and dinner the salads were superb, there were always freshly cooked grilled meat or fish, pasta dishes, soup and of course chips ! Wild Boar and Quail featured on the menu when we were there.
If you want to experience a different culture and have a holiday that is a bit different,go here. If you want English food, go to Benidorm. After all "when in Rome "

The hotel was always clean and some members of staff where seen to be cleaning and tidying up throughout the day. The pool was cleaned every morning as were the rooms.
Being my first time in Tunisia (second time abroad - the first being Spain) I was expecting English food. Although this wasn't the case I enjoyed trying new foods and the waiters were great when things didn't taste that great (they took my plate away and fetched my some food that I did like while I was being sick after trying squid).
The hotel staff were great they always had a smile on their face and were willing to help us with problems that arose (telling us places to visit and places to avoid).
The animation team kept me and the others in the group busy and gave us some moments to remember. The animation team was around to take us to the local nightclub after the show and to make sure that we got home each night.
The bar staff were great they couldn't do enough for us, we had them running backwards and forwards fetching us drinks and sugar (ask for this when you order).
I can't wait to go back to this hotel.

All inclusive was great and the waiters couldn't do enough for me and my family, they fetched all your drinks for you when you was sun bathing around the pool or even just sat in the bar area.
The waiters in the dining room were lovely and very friendly and would have our drinks waiting on the table for us when we walked in.
I havn't got a complaint about the food either no it's not English food but there wasn't anything wrong with it.
Plenty to choose from and freshly cooked meat everyday.
The rooms were spotless and having fresh flowers on your bed every day made you feel special. The maids always greeted you in the corridors with a smile on their faces.
What can I say about the entertainment well done to all the animation they were all great. Playing games all day and then entertaining you through the night with dances and sketches. Nothing was to much trouble.
A big thank you to Samir who entertained my eight year old sister everynight in the mini disco.
I'm going back again in may with a group of mates and I can't wait!
Overall excellent hotel!

| said: The hotel was not a four star, in my opinion not even a one.
The food was the worst food ever on holiday , it seemed what was left over one day was re-served the next day with a differant topping. We were forced to eat out on at least 4 or 5 occasions taking a taxi to the main town.
Our party was nine persons age ranging from two years to eighty two years, none of us enjoyed the holiday. The all inclusive package was not,no gin no vodka no cocktails only watered down beer, wine ,if it was wine. Hotel was cold and lifts were unreliable.
The hotel cleanliness was very poor. The toilets near the reception area smelt badly, the seats were broken, urine on the floor and used sanitary towels just thrown in the corner. When i reported the situation to the reception staff they just grunted and walked away.
Staff were rude. Torn bed linen. Carpets frayed and dangerous especially for the children and elderly. Childrens play area unsafe, broken equipment.
The service at the bar was very bad ,if you were an all-inclusive guest the bar staff did not want to serve you. In fact, they would try to ignore you. The only way to get served was to voice your opinion.
New years eve was a total disaster-with two young children we asked if their food could be served a little earlier
we sat down at 8 but at 9.30 the kids food still had not arrived we had asked three times ,we walked out in the end totally disgusted. One of the managers thought this was acceptable when i brought this to his attention we certainly did not.
The reception would not allow the guests to fill in the complaints book always giving excuses to why it was not available.we spent just under four hundred pounds on trips in a week, but the rep would not take a credit card only cash?? why??
Our complaints are endless plus I am getting fed up of writing about them the moral of this is dont go to Hammmemet Gardens for your holiday - the end.
We have put in a letter of complaint to the hotel, Med hotels head office and Travel Now.

As for the man who had the shop Sami he was a nightmare he would always be asking you to go for a drink or trying to get you to go to hotel room with him, not good. It was really bad and no-one cares.

| said: In a word, dreadful. Lastminute.com has some nerve advertising this hotel as 4 star, when in fact this is a crumbling 3 star.
When my friend and I saw the first room we were given (dirty, smelly, small) we refused it and marched back to reception. After 10 minutes they came up with keys to a slightly better room which we accepted.
A closer look at the hotel brought up these sore points; dirty carpets, bad bad bad food, crumbling tiles, cockroaches and a family of eight feral cats who roam about freely - including the hotel kitchen!
My friend and I cornered the hotel owner - Jamilar, and we spoke to him at length about the state of the hotel. He admitted that improvements needed to be made but couldn't quite accept that a complete overhaul was required and started to get quite agitated and shouty.
If we were able to speak to him, why can't Thomas Cook, Med Hotels, Last Minute, Going Places and all the other holiday companies? They need to talk to him about the state of his wretched hotel and pull his hotel from their brochures. They are pocketing hundreds of thousands of pounds of holidaymaker’s cash and accepting these poor standards.
I wouldn't recommend anyone stay at this hotel, and speaking to the staff about your complaints will do nothing to improve matters. Go straight to the rep and demand another hotel.

| said: I stayed in this hotel in November and it wasn’t a very pleasant one. The food was very poor; it was always cold and repetitive. What ever was left over one night was served up for lunch the next day.
The beverages at the bar were very limited and served in small glasses. The waiters weren’t bothered unless you were HB. This meant that if you were HB then they would serve you straight away. But AI guests had to wait that ten mins longer.
This is not a 4 star hotel I would give it a very poor 3star. The only good thing I have to say about this hotel is the entertainment, they were great.

| said: We stayed at the Hammamet Garden on an all-inclusive basis. The food was adequate in the restaurant, but a bit like school-dinners. The all-inclusive drink servings are tiny, and the way around this is to order a double round at least, otherwise you end up queuing most of the time. The waiters in the restaurant look after you if you pay them a few dinars. Then your drinks are doubled in size! But otherwise they are not interested in the all-inclusive customers because they don't receive tips. I liked the communal areas of the hotel. The swimming pools were marvellous and kept very clean. There is plenty of sun loungers, but couldn't say about high season, when there may be a scramble. Rooms were basically furnished, but perfectly adequate. Cleaning appeared to be scrupulous on a daily basis. Gym very outdated and knocked about.

| said: We have just returned from a week at the Sahara beach, 7-14 November and we loved it. I was a little apprehensive as there is some bad feedback about the hotel, and until we had kids (now ages 2&4) we only stayed in 5* hotels, so a 3* was a new experience for us. But it turned out well.
The reasons we chose this hotel were that Tunisia is only a two and a half hour flight from London. The hotel is 5 minutes from the airport (but not on the flight path). It's on the beach, it has interconnecting rooms for no extra cost, an indoor pool, a kids club and it's very cheap for all inclusive. For a family, it’s brilliant. Just bear in mind the value for money. If you pay for 3* - don't expect 5*.
We were delayed on our flight out and arrived at the hotel at 1.30am instead of 5pm as arranged. The receptionist was so helpful and didn't insist on keeping us up to sort out AI details - just gave us the keys and sent us to bed.
The rooms were excellent. Yes a little small, but as we had 2 rooms interconnecting, it worked out brilliantly. They have recently painted and it’s all very fresh. And spotlessly clean. The bathrooms are functional, there is a little mould on some of the grout, but you can see that they have tried to clean it (and if anyone out there has a fail safe way of getting rid of it, please let me know)! It would be nice if they had hooks for the shower attachment, but as it is, they are just handheld. The balcony's are small but do have furniture and they way they are situated, everyone can see the sea and you cannot see any neighbours. So very private, quite a brilliant concept, shame more hotels don't use that shape. Overall we were very impressed with the accommodation.
The bar areas were quite smoky, but we tended not to use them. You have to live and let live.
The dining room was in the middle block (we were in block 3 rooms 3537 and 3538) and you walked through a little alleyway of shops and some stalls to get to it. There have been some complaints about these vendors, but we found them very friendly, not pushy and it gave the hotel a little buzz of life. I did buy a fake Louis Vuitton bag, but you really don't have to buy anything.
The dining room was huge, but only half full because of the time of year. I should imagine it would get very busy in August. The food was great. Not a LOT of variety, but it is only 3 star. Every night there were soups, salads, vegetables, pasta, fish and meat dishes, sometimes chicken. Everyone is right about the lasagne and the Tunisian night - both fabulous. There were never any flies in the dining room and we were never sick (and we did drink the Marwa water and the orange squash). Every night we had a carafe of wine (which was surprisingly good - we've paid for a lot worse) and then we took one up to the room to drink on the balcony while the kids slept. Brilliant.
We ate lunches on the beach, at the beach bar and in the restaurant - all equally good. The kids loved the pizzas, the burgers and chips are some of the best ever and the ice cream is out of this world. Again - no flies on anything.
The grounds are superb. Always someone cleaning and pruning and just generally keeping order.
The pools were fabulous, but cold. Even so the kids loved the shallow beach style lagoon pool and mostly splashed around. The indoor pool was cold when we first got there, but 2 days in they heated it. I'm not sure if they turn on the heating on the 10th November or whether it’s dependent on the number of guests. But once on the kids wouldn't stay out of it. We actually swam in the sea one day and it was lovely and warm.
There is also a sandy playground with a castle climbing frame, swings and a seesaw, so the kids played in there with other kids everyday. They also went to the kids club for a couple of hours (when we played tennis or walked along the beach).
The kids club could do with a revamp. It’s a bit damp and dingy, but the staff were very nice and the kids wanted to go, so we took advantage of that. I would say that the Kid zone club which is run by Thomson was a much nicer kids club, but you have to be with Thomson to use it. They also did an evening service from 5-7 which is a nice idea, but awful timing. Its no use for adults to have dinner alone, the kids are just getting hungry by then, pointless.
The entertainment I can't comment on. Our kids are still young and I didn't feel I wanted to leave them sleeping in the room alone to go to the disco or cabaret. So we didn't. I heard from other people that the kids disco at 8.30 was good for the kids. I'm ashamed to say we also didn't do any trips out of the hotel (we've been before as a couple and done all the tours).
It was just a week of sun, sea and relaxation. And we had that. A week of not having to make beds, think about what's for dinner or do any washing and ironing is just paradise for me and the Sahara beach exceeded all my expectations. I would thoroughly recommend it for families, especially with toddlers.

| said: The exceedingly poor Med Hotels.com transferred us to this hotel after being dumped on the streets by them after they overbooked our booked 5 star accommodation. Frightened with no local money we had no choice but to go to this hotel.
The hotel has limited facilities and the food was VERY repetitive. In fact each days leftovers seemed to reappear the following meal. Exactly the same food was served for breakfast lunch and dinners including the uncooked and cooked pork meat produce. Food was always uncovered (no lids anywhere) and so the flies could get at it and food was lukewarm and undercooked. Virtually everyone I spoke to at the resort including myself and my partner suffered stomach upsets.
Rooms were basic but functional but were clean and serviced daily. Linen was soiled/ torn and not good quality at all. Staff were friendly (sometimes a bit over friendly) and as a young blonde I was targeted both by staff at the hotel and other locals whether alone or with men. Other young women at the hotel had the same treatment. I was often ignored or pushed out the way when trying to be served or at reception in favour of Men and / or guests who weren’t all inclusive. Although bribery of the waiting /bar staff virtually guarantees good service as I discovered!
Outdoor pools were ok, although the lifeguard only turned up 1/2 hour after the pool opened and toured the two pools so was often not in attendance at any given time. Indoor pool was locked every time I attempted to use it.
Gym- this was disgusting and dangerous- completely unusable.
Activities- OK if you enjoy the six-language lotto every night. Activates such as table tennis were only available at limited times. Kids seemed to have a fun time though but every time I saw the Animation team from the hotel they were trying to chat up young British ladies.
Snacks- Asked for these at the Main bar (where they were supposed to be at that time) none available. Pizza was available for 1 hour a night twice a week.
Drinks were ok, but in tiny glasses service was done by friendly staff who tried their best but lots of guest and limited pumps/staff! Bizarre that non-alcoholic drinks branded drinks- (Coca Cola, Fanta and Schweppes lemonade) were available on all inclusive, but Diet drinks were charged- not available on the all-inclusive. One person at the resort was Diabetic and ran up a hefty bar bill!
Staff were seen filling up the "bottled water" from a tap and then handing this out to guests, also the all inclusive cocktails were virtually never available - always "ran out".
In the hotel lobby /restaurant areas you were constantly harassed to buy photos / flowers /photographer taking photos of you actually as you eat your meals/ buy trips/ excursions - these are not stalls these are people coming up to you and pestering you, which seems to be the Tunisian way (which can be a bit disconcerting to people used to British reserve!)
Overall this is an Average hotel - Poor Food, Average service, Average Facilities

| said: My husband and I were very disappointed with this hotel. On arrival at 2am we discovered there were no tea and coffee making facilities in our room, no fridge, and no complimentary bottle of water (as stated in the brochure).
Although our room was kept spotlessly clean I had reservations about the rest of the hotel.
The food was in a word 'disgusting'! Leftovers were served up the next day in different dishes. Food hygiene standards were appalling. I witnessed the 'chefs' using the same implements to handle raw and cooked food. I witnessed them wiping their hands across their mouths, and then touching the knives they were using to cook food. This was in the restaurant, I can only imagine what went on in the kitchen. It was no wonder that so many people came down with stomach upsets. Eventually one of the restaurants was closed. Even the Thomas Cook rep said it was unacceptable after trying the food for himself. My husband and I were ill for 10 out of the 14 days we were there. We would starve ourselves for 24-48hrs, and then when we felt better and tried to eat, it would start again! We survived on bread, rice and water, we couldn't face anything else. (The best meal I had on holiday was the in flight meal on the way home.)
The staff were very friendly, one of the waiters in one of the bars told me that this was the worst place to come for a holiday because of the food.
Entertainment was ok.
This was our first visit to Tunisia and our last! I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

| said: Arrived around 2am to be left stood around in reception for ages waiting for our room key. Had to find our room ourselves as reception staff didn't seem to know what they were doing or care.
The room itself was disappointing, the hose to the hairdryer was hanging on by a thread, the bath was well worn and the towel rail was rusty.
The corridors to the rooms were carpeted but I don't think they'd been vacumed in months.
The waiters and pool staff were friendly and helpful and the animation team were very friendly. The evening entertainment was ok if you like bingo. The animation team dancing was very good, but the so called comedy sketches were rubbish.
The food, well what can I say, it was cold, not much choice, re-used day after day. The tiles behind the servery were disgusting and the chefs liked messing about with their mobiles in between serving. Half way through the week the half board restaurant was closed (I wonder why) and we got to eat in the all inclusive one. The food was better presented and hotter and there was more choice. I felt that if you were on half board you were treated as a second class to the all inclusive guests and that they were given better quality food etc.
Several people I spoke to had a stomach upset during their stay and I managed to get one just in time for the journey home!!
I definitely feel the star rating for this hotel is too high and improvements need to be made.

| said: My friend and I were very disappointed in this hotel.
The hotel food was absolutely awful, even the entertainment guys and the Thomas Cook Rep didn't eat in the hotel due to its poor quality. Even the All Inclusive restaurant was no better!
The hotel is now owned by a Tunisian family (they took over from a German Co.) The restaurant does not cater for British unless you make a personal food request every day which mainly consists of EGGS!!! They cater mainly for Italians. Vegetarians steer clear.
This hotel is clearly not a 4 star! The pool is beautiful but the normal "towels on the sunbeds at the crack of dawn" is routine!
I would not go back to this hotel or this part of Hammamet again. This was my 4th visit to Tunisia and the worst.
Many British clients will be complaining to Thomas Cook on their arrival back home.

The pool area was great, especially for the kids as it had its own separate part and the water fall feature looked amazing. The restaurant was always clean and the food itself was fine although my only comment about this hotel would be to have a bit more choice for British holiday makers in the food selection. We really did enjoy our holiday at this hotel. I would certainly recommend this hotel to anyone with a family as the staff always keep your children occupied. Me and my family would certianly go back.
