| said: We were on Honeymoon and looking at the brochure we were well impressed. We wanted everything to be special so we reserved the 'Club Class' rooms (with balcony fridge and the little extras) When we arrived the first thing we noticed was the musty smell, the guy at reception's unironed shirt which should have given us an inkling of what was awaiting us. The room was small, beds were pushed together inspite of the fact we requested a double. The fridge was downright disgusting, mouldy and dirty, but as we looked at the room service 'Let us serve you dinner on your balcony' I looked at the balcony well I spose it was possible if one of you sat inside and the other one outside?? The rooftop pool was dirty and centainlt not somewhere I would chance putting my toe into. We requested a change of room because quite honestly I did not understand what we were paying extra for. The new room had a view of waste ground with rubbish dumped on it. We stayed that night because we didn't have a rented car until the morning....the nightwas hot and sticky - no air conditioning and so we hardly got any sleep, and then there was breakfast, cheapest excuse ever for a buffet, diluted orange juice non fresh bread and fatty sliced meat. We left the following day - disappointed, we had told them how we were looking forward to staying there, the brochure looked amazing, we told them we were on honeymoon - and they did nothing to make it 1/2 special for us - even when we told them of the dirty fridge etc. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

| said: The Rafael spinola is a good 3 star hotel right in the heart of st julians,the rooms are clean,the beds are comfy,the staff are excellent,particular praise must go to sonia on reception,who allways had a smile and a cheery hello, the staff are allways keen to help,and would allways make everyone feel welcome,well done everybody!
