| said: The good point is the location, which is excellent - a short taxi boat or a twenty five minute walk into the very pretty town of Korcula.
We booked a hotel room (half board) but changed to an apartment on day two, as the hotel room was small for three of us (two adults plus seven year old). Apartment was adequate.
Food in restaurant was terrible! The restaurant staff were very nice, but they were embarrassed by the quality of what they had to serve. It was frustrating because in Korcula town we found several nice restaurants. Last year we stayed at the Kompas in Dubrovnik (also a 3 star hotel) where the food was excellent, but the Bon Repos (also 3 star) was appalling.
The best beach was at Lumbarda which was a 5 minute bus ride from the Bon Repos - well worth the trip since the beaches at the Bon Repos were very small and not very sandy.
Apparently the Bon Repos is still state owned and the state hasn't invested in it for years, as they are hoping to sell it off - hopefully they will, because it needs new management - with a facelift and a new chef it could be pleasant, but for the moment its best avoided.
Korcula is a pretty island, and worth a visit - but I recommend you go self-catering!

The food was just terrible, at breakfast food was left uncovered, with flies everywhere. Staff handled bread and other food without any gloves on.
Dinner in the evenings was appalling, all dinners were covered in gravy/sauce, whether you liked it or not, and I mean covered, portions were small, and the food was overcooked and luke-warm when served.
I would not recommend this hotel, and I will not be returning.
Good things about Croatia were the scenery and the weather, occasionally we met someone who was friendly.
I found you had to pay for all services for example the tennis court, I had to pay to hire the tennis raquet, I thought this very mean as there is very little to amuse young people on this resort.
All facilities were very shabby, tennis court, volley ball area and crazy golf course.
To travel from Bon Repos to Korcula you have to go by bus or boat. It costs 10 Kuna (one pound sterling) each way per person, which adds up over two weeks. Korcula is a very nice place, we enjoyed looking around that town, but again we found it difficult to find somewhere good to eat.
