| said: We arrived at the hotel at midday so were quite hungry. We quickly went upstairs to our room and were delighted with it. It was very spacious and had the most fantastic view overlooking the beach. After quickly getting changed we headed down to the cafe to grab a quick bite before heading out to explore Nerja. The food was of a good standard, it was nothing fancy, but we werent complaining, it was just from the poolside cafe afterall.
Heading into Nerja was easy from the hotel, it was an enjoyable walk along a promenade lined with little bars and restraunts which were always buzzing. The hotel is suberbly situated right on the beach, and with it's 10/15 minute walk into town you cant complain. The staff were very polite and helpful and made the stay just as enjoyable as the hotel itself. As we were bed and breakfast only we were out most evenings and didnt manage to see any of the evening entertainment other than the Flamenco Dancers, which did not let the audience down, infact the audience were included!!
Breakfast was suberb, there was a choice for everyone and the food was always fresh and plentiful. There was fresh fruit, breads and pastries, cereal or a full cooked breakfast. Plenty of fresh fruit juice and also milk, tea and coffee. the breakfast cannot be faulted at all. I cannot comment on evening meals as we never had one actually in the hotel, but eating out there is an abundance of places to choose from, all of which i cannot fault either.
The cleanliness of the hotel was top notch. The pool areas were never left to get dirty or in a mess, nor were the pools. The interior of the hotel was pristine, as were the rooms.
I had a thoroughly enjoyable stay and have already booked up to go back again next year, and i cant wait!

| said: We arrived at The perla Marina and found we were in a very pleasant room with a side view over the sea. We were a little disappointed to have only a very narrow balcony(no table and chairs) but the weather wasnt good enough to sit out so didn't matter and when it was warm we could sit near open window.
Room size was good and we had TV and fridge.
Everywhere very clean. Reception staff very friendly and helpful.
Breakfast was OK but have had better. There was plenty of choice of cereals, cold meats etc and fruit but I didn't think much of the cooked breakfasts.
All in all would recommend the hotel and would return.

Eeach apartment has two bedrooms and two bathrooms and are very well equipped.
We self cater on most holidays and would rate this as one of the best we have stayed in.

| said: Hotel Perla Marina, Nerja, Costa del Sol. Super room with balcony, nothing between us & the sea.
Room cleaned & fresh towels every day. Staff very friendly & helpful. Breakfast time could be very busy, often got to eat al fresco!
Always a choice of soup, local dish, fish, meat & salad at dinner. Choice of sweets were to die for!!
Not many british guests, mostly Spanish & German. The entertainer (Carlos on a Tues & Thurs)tried hard.
Good location right on beach & not too far from the Balcon.
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

| said: We arrived at the hotel at 2am and were pleasantly surprised. The hotel is situated on a moderately busy road with the entrance of the hotel, at present, facing a building site; though it has to be said that we were not once disturbed by any noise/air pollution.
The reception is spotlessly clean and check in was painless. Most staff speak fairly good English and all are friendly.
When booking our holiday we were asked if we would prefer to be higher up, or lower down. We mindlessly opted to be higher up which in hindsight was a master stroke as we were placed on the top floor (4th). Instead of an average sized balcony with space for a table and chairs, we were treated to a large, open terrace which was the proverbial suntrap. It was furnished with a round table, 2 chairs, 2 sun loungers and a parasol. It is also well worth opting for the sea view supplement as it would be a shame to look out onto the building site and have no discernable balcony. The views are lovely and we watched the sun set over the mountains on a couple of occasions. The room itself was spotless, spacious and had the welcome addition of a fully operational fridge! The room was serviced every day.
The only negative was the food. The choice was very limited and that which was on offer was invariably luke warm and contained non descript "meat". There is no suitable food for children, barring the chocolate and vanilla icecream. Having said that, the Hotel is steered towards more adult clientele and there are plently of other hotels which would attract and cater for families.
The hotel's location is within easy walking distance of beaches, restaurants, bars and supermarkets.
In conclusion the Perla Marina is a clean, friendly, well situated hotel which offers a very relaxing atmosphere. I would certainly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Nerja, but be prepared to eat out on a few nights a week - particularly at King's Chinese Tapas which is about 20 paces right of the hotel. Don't be put off by it's apparent lack of customers. The food is, without doubt, the best chinese food we have ever tasted. It's emptiness owes more to it's location than anything else. If you like Chinese food, you simply have to go there and meet King. Oh, and be sure to visit the Mexican, Cielto Lindo, even if only to read the English translation of the Menu. The food is also fantastic.

| said: The Perla Marina is a clean, small and friendly hotel. The staff are incredibly friendly and most speak English,Pablo is especially good with the children. The snack bar at lunchtime is excellant, try the club sandwich or Perla Marina salad, lovely.
Mealtimes - The restaurant is spacious but deathly quiet particually in the evenings.Breakfast is o.k but not too warm, usual selection of cereals, cold meats, sausage, beans, eggs etc.Get your drinks first and place them on your table so it's kind of reserved. The evening meals were appalling with no choice for children [or adults] unless you like paella, unidentified meat in sauce, salad and fish complete with heads.
Rooms - Basic, clean, maid comes every day to make beds and push a mop around. Not too much wardrobe/storage space.Well worth paying supplement for sea view, alternative is a balconyless view of a busy road and a building site.
Pool area - Nice pool area certainly no dawn rush for sunbeds, there was still some left at ten thirty - eleven a.m.The pool could get crowded with lilo's etc at times.Don't get sunbeds in the corner as you get splashed by people jumping in the pool.
Beaches - The beach outside the hotel is the Playasol and is very shingly with no sunbeds, people take their own mats and umbrellas. Two minutes away is the Playa Torrecilla, much nicer, very sandy, sunbeds to hire along with pedloes but beware the beach slopes steeply in the sea,ten yards and your out of your depth.
Hotel entertainment - Poor,Carlos and his keyboard appears twice a week and theres flamenco once a week but once you've seen one you've seen them all.Nothing for children though, other than this the hotel is quiet in the evenings.
Summing up - I would recomend the Perla Marina to anyone and if they could only sort out the abysmall evening meals then it would make the whole complete.
