hotel cleanliness not too bad but we didnt get clean bedding until we told our rep after six days there was an ants nest behind the sink my wife was bitten on the first night and had a really bad reaction had hospital treatment.but the rep was very good .we got a neighbour to look at the ants, and sunset are denying they were ants.food was ok but need a lot more variety.location was great away from noise and across road the beach.hotel staff were good.entertainment was good and on nearly every night.they changed our room after six days and every thing was great from then, but first six days a dissaster,my advice check for ants,

Comfy beds, nice bathroom, part sea view from balcony (the studios are on the side of the hotel). Excellent location, easy to get the train from the airport to Los Boliches and a short (eight-minute) walk along the sea front, pulling wheelie-case.
Entertainment OK, but there are plenty of restaurants and bars nearby (a good curry-house right next door).
Nice walks along the sea front to Banelmadena (bus or train back) for a day out, public transport bus to La Ligna from Fuengirola bus station for a day in Gibraltar (2-hour ride each way) and plenty of other day trips advertised along the sea front (including Morocco, Tangier, Grenada, etc.).
Have been three times now and going again, soon.
Handy shops nearby for food, but we always ate out.

We have just arrived back from our 10 day stay in the Jabega.

The hotel reception area was great and staff very polite but our first disappointment was we had to wait about 45 mins to check in and get allocated a room because there where none ready for any of the guests and after travelling on a very early flight we was very tired, this was not acceptable. We then went to our room which was on the 7th floor room 710, my sister Sandra walked in with her suitcase and straight away slipped on the very wet floor and fell against the wall hurting her hand and wrist, trying to stop herself from falling..then to find out that there was no pool, after being told there was one when we booked..we were lucky that we were opposite the beach..

Don't get me wrong the hotel was great, also the staff, Mr Vargos who was working in the hotel bar was especially polite and helpful always smiling,

I have stated the hotel cleanliness as a 4 this is because the cleaner that did our room or was supposed to clean our room hardly ever did it, the balcony was not touched in 10 days unless we did it ourselves, the sheets were not change at all in the 10 days, the mop went where it touched just by the beds that was it. We watched other cleaners on different floors of the hotel and noticed they just about cleaned every part of the apartment daily even the balcony railings. We were lucky if it was even looked at. We even noticed the build up of rubbish etc on the balcony of 709 next to us. Did not see cleaner on there balcony once. except when we told reception that there was a bottle sitting full up with trash with what I presumed to be ciggy buts and dirty water, on the edge of the railings which could have been knocked over side and hurt someone. The maid went in moved it from there and put it on the little patio table, it then got moved back by the guests and stayed there and was still there when we left yesterday 22/7/06

Several days we were left without toilet rolls, we ended up buying them ourselves at the supermarket.

On the good side now the room was comfortable, the bathroom great, kitchen was on small side need to get a little work space fitted next to cooker rings, good air conditioning.. room for improvement, but on the whole the holiday was great and would stay there again

Booked this apartment 9 months previously for my 40th birthday.

6 months before departure I rang to cancel a night because of a change in flight time, but La Jabega would not refund so I paid for 7 & only stayed for 6 nights.

Nevermind I thought, they were advertised with a sea view & I requested a high floor so as not to be disturbed by the surrounding bars. Holidayrooms telephoned me on booking to confirm my requests as it was a special occasion. On arrival we were given a room on the second floor at the back with no sea view & our balcony was 10 foot from a sports bar, hense we didn't sleep for the week. I spent most of the time in tears as La jabega refused to move us.

There was also alot of people rowing in the early hours in adjacent apartments. I wouldn't stay again because I paid for a room that I didn't get plus I overpaid. This was not holidayrooms as I have travelled with them many times with no problems.

Now for the nice stuff. The apartments were just across the road from Los Boliches beach & 5 min walk to the centre of Fuengirola. The room itself was very clean with towels as needed, fridge,a/c,oven & hob, balcony & bathroom with bath & shower & a safe for about £7 a week. A taxi caught outside the apartments was £20 to Malaga airport.

There were lifts to all floors & disabled facilities. The restaurant served nice food & there was entertainment most nights. Unfortunately, on the one night we ate there our glasses had not been washed properly & smelt of dirty dishcloths Yuk! I was nearly sick so we didn't go again.

Fab apartments, very roomy and spotless. Cleaned every day with sheets changed twice during the weeks stay. Small kitchens but fully equiped and and cooked in them a few nights.

Terrific bathrooms, complete with bath & showers (we had two apartments and one of them had a bidet!)Brillant and comfy beds! Typical dark wood furniture but its all comfy, and plenty of storage space.

Centrally located, just across the road from the beach. Beautifully tiled and maintained seafront. Loads of pub, clubs and restaurants. About a five minute walk from the centre and about 15 min to the zoo, so the apartments are well located.

Staff are excellent, entertainment nightly, huge restaurant/bar.There is also a reps office, and a PR office which gives you information on everything from the weather to trips! Staff are very nice polite helpful.

Couldn't fault a thing. (As a footnote, hotel is equipped with ramps, slightly steep, for wheelchairs and lifts to all floors. Ground floor,to street level, bar and restaurant, all flat)

We have just returned from staying at The Jabega (5th July 2005). We found the apartments quite basic. Very old fashioned furniture. Quite a few ants, were seen. Probably understandable though, as the weather was so hot.

Big plus, was the air conditioning. Towels and bed linen changed daily, if required. Big disappointment was the Jabega not having a swimming pool, missed this a lot with having a 4 year old boy.

Wouldnt return to The Jabega, due to this. Otherwise, its ok and cheap. Entertainment very basic and repetative.

My husband and I have just come back from our 3rd visit to La Jabega and we had a fabulous time.

We had been allocated a room on the 8th floor but as I am scared of heights they immediately put us on the second floor with no problems. We were very pleased to see that they had replaced the plastic shower curtains with screens and that air conditioning had been fitted in the rooms.

Once again the staff were incredibly helpful and the rooms were cleaned every day with the floors being swept and washed every second day (or third day if over the weekend. Towels were changed every second day and the bedding was changed 5 times in the 14 nights we were there. My only complaint is that the pillows are very thin and next time I will take my own if possible.

Although we went self catering, we had a few meals in the bar downstairs and these were very nice. I can also highly recommend Jose's special chocolate ice cream sundaes!!

This time there was more in house entertainment than in previous years and you must see the comedian/singer on a Wednesday night. The singers on the other nights tended to sing the same songs each time so it became a bit monotonous, especially as they sang mainly in Dutch or Spanish!

The hotel is situated across the road from Los Boliches beach and all the rooms have sea views. The kitchen is very small, especially in the rooms for two people but as we only had breakfast in the room it wasn't a problem and who wants to cook their own meals when there are such good, cheap restaurants in Fuengirola??

In past holidays we have taken our teenage daughter with us and had eaten in most of the time (she's a very fussy eater) but we found it just as cheap to eat out this time.

All in all we had a brilliant time that was made even better by the friendly and ever helpful staff.

Me and my husband just got back from the Jageba Apartments on the Costa del Sol.....

The reception area was nice but the apartment was a let down. First we were checked in to the 7th floor apartment and we went out on the balcony to check the view but the balcony doors are self locking which they did not tell us so we were locked on balcony for 5 hours on arrival till we found a couple on the next floor up that told a manager who seem to think it was no problem.

The next morning the drilling started next door from 9 till 6 after 3 days of this we are told the next door apartment is being refurbished and they would move us to another room on the 10th floor.
This apartment was the same as on the 7th floor the cleanliness of the apartment was very poor on arrival in both appartments your first impression is ok but then you see how dirty it is the floors were filthy and were not washed in two weeks i think you r meant to clean your own floors thats why they give u a mop and broom in rooms. The cleaners almost missed cleaning the room full stop we had to keep ringing down to reception to get clean towels and bedding. The only thing the cleaners do is change towels and bin nothing else.

I had to insist on the bedding being changed because it was so itchy...... the kitchen if you can call it that it was impossible to cook a meal with you were giving it was tiny so we did not bother trying to cook anymore meals.

The utensils and pots cups etc were greasy and not cleaned so I had to wash everything before I could use the utensils etc.

My main complaint was the cleanliness of the appartment I spent so much time cleaning this room. The bathroom because it had no window it had this stale smell it was horrid. I have been to the costa del sol many times and have never had a problem with hotels or apartments

I will not use the apartment again and do not recommend them.

Many things were not right with them I could go on for ever.

The plus is the location which is on the beach and it is a nice beach if you want a swimming pool go next door to hotel angela they have a small one and loads of people used the pool that were not staying in that hotel.

if you dont like heights insist on a lower floor, the 10th floor was so high..

First time in these apartments.Overall experience very good. The apartments are very well situated being just across the road from the beach where you can hire 2loungers with parasol for 7e with padded mattress.
Each apartment has a large balcony with a sea view (some side sea view).Nice foyer/reception area with daily newspapers. We stayed in a studio on the ninth floor which was well equiped and comfortable although decor a little dated. The only thing that was missing was a hair dryer which my wife would have found useful as she didn't pack hers. The apartments have now been fitted with air conditioning which we wern't expecting.
Towels changed and room cleaned daily.Unfortunately we missed the change of sheets for some reason.Staff freindly and helpful.Problem with electrics solved promptly.Comfortable bar with good value snacks.

This was our second visit to La Jabega and we had another brilliant time. There was some minor building work going on at the rear of the hotel but it did not disturb us as they started about 8.30am and finished each evening by 6. The cleanliness was not quite as good as the first time - the shower curtain was mouldy which was off putting but everything else was brilliant. Small kitchen but big enough for us as we ate out mostly. The beds were changed every two days and towels every day. We had a studio apartment and there was plenty of room for the three of us. Can't really comment on the entertainment as we went out most nights as the hotel didn't have any entertainment as such, just the things run by the JMC reps, but the one night we stayed in due to the weather the JMC reps were supposed to be running a quiz night and they never turned up!! The bar staff are especially friendly and make you feel very welcome. We love this place so much that we are booked to go back there September 2004.
