| said: The hotel was lovely and clean.
It was a little bit away from the beach but not miles. There is a red light district but not really close and we just stayed away from it when we realised where it was, there's plenty more to see and do.
The food, I thought was mostly of German taste but was pleasant enough (I ate enough of it).
There was no entertainment to speak of.
At first we did think the staff where a bit snotty but after a while when we got to know them a bit they where perfectly alright.
This is a nice enough hotel, but the restaurant in the Sunrise is bigger and better.

| said: We stayed in Hotel Excelsior Golden Sands, Varna. In opposite of what most people said, all three of us agreed that the food was very nice and there was a lot of choice really.
The staff is very friendly and they really try to make things comfortable for you.
There is no entertainment in this hotel, but you can go to the Sunrise Hotel which is located 10 meters from Excelsior. These two hotels belong together, so you can have drinks and snacks over there as well. Excelsior is a very clean hotel, and I find it more cosy then Sunrise.
The only thing is the location from these hotels. If you walk to the beach you walk down a steep road to get there. When you walk back to the hotel it is a bit of a climb, so I don't recommend these hotels to disabled people. However there is a shuttle bus going to the beach, but the last one go's at 1600 hrs in the afternoon back to the hotel, which I think is a bit early.
Anyway, we go back next year!!!!

| said: We were dreading this holiday after reading the reports from everyone else, we almost cancelled, Thankfully we didn't. This hotel is spotless, its friendly & we really enjoyed it.
Food was a bit repetitive, but our fussy children didn't starve.
It is a long walk down to the beach but there are some steps down the side of sunrise hotel which bring you out almost at the beach.
The entertainment is naff, it is held at the back of sunrise down in the a little place called the forest, the reps do all the entertainment day & night, they try hard but really for the children.
Yes most definitely we would go again but we never do as there are to many places in the world to see.

| said: This hotel was really clean, went all inclusive but got so bored with the repetitive lunches and dinners eat out most nights.
The entertainment was very poor and the kids club was run by the hotel and all done in German!
I also have never walked so much in my life this hotel right at the top of a hill.
Excelsior and Sunrise share the facilities but poor set up to get your drinks at sunrise hotel have to walk for ages no pool bar.
Book a superior room as they have great floor space especially if you have a family.

Food lukewarm, not much choice.
Location top of long hill, hard work for people with pushchairs, at night it becomes red light area.
Staff ignorant.
Entertainment very little in day, none at night.

| said: beautiful hotel with large airy rooms with lots of storage space and spotlessly clean.didnt like the tradidional bulgarian breakfasts so we ate out all the time very cheaply and well at a local pub.full breakfast for a pound.the pool is big with sunbeds free to residents, but no matresses,so buy a lilo for comfort.there is a snack bar serving food and drinks right by the pool.to get into town you have to walk down the hill which becomes the red light district at night.there was no entertainment in the hotel but lots outside so it wasnt a problem.wouldnt go again because of location but thats the only reason.
