| said: we stayed in the st. george gardens hotel, which is a sister to the st george, and are next door to eachother.
The hotel was very clean, the staff were very friendly.
rooms very big and spacious, with air con and excellent sea veiws.
The food was excellent, plenty of choice.
plenty of drinks 2 choose from too, milkshakes were gorgeous!
the pool was large and clean.
the day time entertainment was good, however the night entertainment..u had to go next door to the st george, where your all inclusive package starts from 8:30pm. the entertainment varied from poor to the best shows i have ever seen, such as hypnotist, beach party (both excellent), comedians, singers, greek dancers!
The location from the main shops, restaurants, bars were about 10euros in a taxi, and the hotel was right on the beach, however i didnt think much of the beach, it had alot of seaweed, and the sand was rough.
the thomson reps were always available, and very helpful.
overall excellent hotel, and will be returning.

It has a beautiful reception area (recently refurbished)with panoramic views of the pool and sea and on arrival staff are very welcoming. Our room was lovely and the view from the balcony was amazing! Great pool and beach was nice too. Enjoyed jet-skiing very much!
Buffet meals were very nice; lots of choice. Will definetly be returning to this hotel!

| said: We were upgraded from a 4* hotel in Limmasol due to refurbishment. Very impressinve reception area and quick check in-porter to take your luggage which is always appreciated.
Although we stayed half board, we found the food fairly bland and repetative although there was plenty of choice. We tended to eat out most of the time (fab Pizzeria at the top of the road-cheap too!!!)
The room was small and we found it a bit of a squash with a third bed in it. Tea/coffee machine was appreciated. Cleaners did a fairly good job but there were better days than others, overall the hotel was very clean.
The hotel boasts it own beach-fine if you dont mind hobbling across shingle and then climbing over huge rocks!! Take a bus trip (it stops at the top of the road) and for 80c each, travel down to Coral Bay which has a fantastic beach.
Staff were friendly but cannot comment on the entertainment as we were out most of the time!!
TV in room shows UK channels so no need to miss Eastenders (how sad is that!!)

| said: Breakfast is as per most hotels with a full english but there is also continental and there is a fruit and yoghurt section but no omlette station.
The restaurant is clean but in a morning the staff are a bit slow cleaning used pots away. The evening meal taken in a different restaurant starts at 1900-2200 and gets busy around 2030.there is a good selection of food and a carvery section each evening and also a cypriot dish most evenings.
You can book for the al a carte and receive 5cypounds towards the cost of the meal which can be a change.the staff are very busy in the evening and andreas the head waiter is excellent.
It can get a bit hairy in the restaurant in the evening with people criss crossing to different food sections. The selection of food on the buffet is quite good and plenty of it.the live entertainment is a bit average.
The hotel is about four miles out of paphos which can be reached by bus at the top of the road at a cost of about £1(english) and in the summer were running up until 2300.
Yes I would visit again and although they have a lot of weddings it did not interfere with our holiday.

| said: I was disappointed with the hotels location, nobody tells you that the buses don't run after 7:00 in the evening during the winter and that there is nowhere to go in the immediate vicinity. The entertainment was poor. (The girl who did the daytime games & Bingo bongo at night was very good and worked very hard, well done Lubar),but it was as if the management couldn't care less as you had nowhere else to go so what!!
They have what is called the "Premium" Club a good sized room with a stage,a bar and plenty seats all we got was one show on the Saturday night and then bingo bongo and quiz nite and you could not find anybody to get you a drink whislt you were in there!!
Hotel cleanliness I thought was good. The rooms are not to big but clean and we got Tea & Coffee making facilities which was good. Unfortunately not a room with a view.
The food was nothing to write home about but is that because we are in another country and are not use to their ways, not sure! We did have a meal in the A La Carte area one night and though you have to pay extra it was VERY good.
The hotel grounds were spacious plenty areas to relax with plenty sunbeds. They are busy trying to improve the "Beach" Area, building a break water and importing sand to construct a small beach. I used the gym whilst I was there & though small, all the equipment worked, there was small towels for your use and also a cold water machine, again I felt a good point.
I'm not sure if I would go back, certainly not in the winter season, but may consider it in the summer.

| said: Sorry, we cannot recommend this hotel. We have stayed in many Thom Platinum hotels and this does not come up to scratch.
Sure, there are bathrobes, half bottle of wine and tea/coffee making in the room (no need for the travel kettle!) but we were disappointed.
Our gripe is with Thomson's. Like some other reviewers, we cannot understand why Thoms rate this hotel as a 5 star, because it isn't. We have stayed in better 4 star hotels.
Hotel staff are friendly but then they're hardly like to scowl at you or ignore you, are they? They'll say hello but only if you say it first.
Pool staff and bar staff are there like a shot...Of course they are...You're paying £1.50 for a small glass of coke!
FOOD:
Mmmm! bland, sometimes cold and not a lot of choice re vegetables. The air con was off (ok, we went in November, but daytime temps were still in the high 70's and low 80's) so the dining room was overbearingly warm and this made eating uncomfortable. Tables and chairs are crammed together and drink prices are on the high side. £1.80 for a litre bottle of water with dinner (add your conversion rate as well)...rather dear.
ROOM:
Small and basic...The bathrooms are in need of an overhaul and remind me of 1980's Costa hotel bathrooms. The room was small with not a lot of furniture, however the balcony views are superb...If you are on the better side of the hotel...Pool and sea on one side, main road and a rubbish tip on the other. Rooms are cleaned, daily, of course, but quickly and not thoroughly. The balcony was not swept once during our fortnights stay. No aircon...Bad, bad, bad.
LOCATION:
Not good, sorry. The brochure describes it as 'in a serene and quiet setting'...We all know what that means! There is nothing around the hotel at all. If you like a walk after dinner, you won't find one here. A small stretch along the back of the hotel by the sea is not very well lit and there are no cafés to pop into for a coffee or a bevy, or shops to mooch thru. The supermarket at the top of the drive is EXPENSIVE...Go into Paphos for your things...Catch the bus at the top...It's cheap enough. The hotel is very much isolated. We had a hire car, so were lucky.
ENTERTAINMENT:
Again, not to a 5 star std. Karaoke with the Londoner is fun...The rest is the usual male singer, a female singer, an Elvis impersonator, a group and umpteen quizzes and bingo. The 'show area' is a corner of the bar...Not a proper lounge, although, hotel management are currently reviewing this situation. Again, no air con made it uncomfortable and we were constantly mopping our brows.
OVERALL:
Won't be going back...We will spend £250 less and return to a proper 5 star in the Canaries in 2006. Sorry, the Saint George was hardly heavenly for us. Hang on though, one thing we did like was the indoor pool and health centre. They've got a Jacuzzi, a steam room and a dry room...They hold 6 people...Do you think that it was easy to get in them when you have 400 hotel guests, all wanting a soak and sweat in the late afternoon? Not likely. Right, can't think of anything else...If you go...Enjoy it...We all have different expectations...Perhaps ours are too high, but then, you don't pay for a platinum holiday if you don't have high expectations, do you.
All the best, Kev & Hugh.

My parents had a jacuzzi suite and we had a 1 bed apt next door. The rooms were clean and airy, if a little basic. The jacuzzi was empty & the balcony seats broken but otherwise the rooms were more than adequate for a young family.
The hotel staff are friendly if a little thin on the ground.
Breakfast was nice but again, not many staff around.
There were ample sunbeds and a nice (if very cold) pool but the one big minus for us was the loud music pounding out from the pool bar which they put on every day, turned down when we asked and then put back on the next day - on one occasion waking up both my three year old and my father.

| said: We stayed at the St Georges gardens apartments adjacent to the St George, hoping to experience the best of both worlds, a 5 star hotel's facilities with the spaciousness of an appartment.
We were dropped at the main hotel with the the platinum guests but our booking couldn't be found as we were next door, how were we to know?
The staff were very gracious and sent round our luggage. What a dissapointment the entrance was after the elegant 'george, but dont be put-off by that concrete facade and very drab reception.( we had been warned).
The room was lovely, very clean and comfortable and very spacious with a well equipped kitchenette including glasses, kettle toaster, table with 4 chairs, enough hanging and drawer space for a large family, as always take plenty of hangers. BIG GRIPE.
In the thomson brochure the impression is given that a family room comprises a completely seperate bedroom, but the hotel classes it as a room with dividing door.
Not the hotels fault, so they suggested I speak to a thomson rep. Needless to say nothing happened, wonder if that had to do with us not being platinum enough!
Most of the clientele in the appartments were Spanish, Italian, German and Greek which was great! At the main hotel- mostly English.
If you go dont be shy, you are permiited to use all the facilities in the George, but our bit was lovely, very quiet and loads of loungers on a grass lawn going down to the small slightly rocky beach, loungers provided at no charge.
Good pool monopolised by a large family, but a decent size indoor pool usually quiet if you want a real swim.
Very pleasant bar and pool-side pizza express. Marred only by the MUSIC - TURN IT OFF !! It started pounding out at 10.30 am and didn't finish til 5. Why do they do this ?? We dont want it! I live in a city , on a flight path with trains etc.. I want to relax with a great book , the sun on my face, the gentle swishing of the sea and distant tinkle of childrens laughter, not be blasted out by a poor quality ghetto blaster playing bad compilations of the sort of eighties music we'd all rather forget. I had pointed this out but was told no-one else "minded'. funny that.
I took a new fangled item with me called an i-pod, our son had a 'personal' cd player. The idea being you can listen to the music you actually like without disturbing anyone else. novel.
We didn't eat there for lunch, so would suggest they lost out. Perhaps I shoul've read out-loud. No-one would 'mind'.
The breakfast spread was pleasant and varied, marred only by the loud piped music usually the bee-gees!!!
Picture the scene, excellent coffee, warm croissants, the sun on the horizon, a beautiful view, the gentle early morning banter with the people you love about the day ahead with the screaching piped sticcatto tones of 'tradjerdy.....ya goin noware.....'
The food in the evening was fresh, hot and varied, the female chef was very courteous and smiley, the carvery was cooked to perfection so well done her. Would've liked to have seen more Cyproit items on the menu. The oilves were delicious, but not put out every night?
Entertainment in the main hotel was enthusiastic but inconsistent. Brilliant hypnotist show of the family-friendly kind.
The animation team were fantastic, not at all pushy , but they even made a great effort with the bingo - well done.(they were all also lovely to look at) and did their very best. The themed Abba and dance shows were pretty awful, but entertaining for that.
The main hotel areas were plush and beautifully kept as were the gardens. All the staff at the main hotel were courteous and helpful,if not a little sombre.
Our room was kept very clean, cant fault the maid service down to the folding of the pj's with a choccy on the top, she even washed up a couple of things I'd left in the sink and was observant enough to notice we were a glass short and replaced it. Excellent service.
The air conditioning in the room was extremely effective, reliable and needed. There are many internal steps from the pool area to rooms - be warned. The youngest and fittest can be 'overcome' after a morning in 40 degrees, and thats before a chilled beer!
This hotel is quite isolated, though serviced by an excellent air conditioned bus to paphos every 10-15 minutes(men and women must wear shirts on the bus).
The nearest supermarket on the main road has everything you'll need, not cheap but they do have freshly baked bread and a tempting display of local fruit and veg which is great for lunch if you don't want to share a pizza with boy george and duran-duran at the poolside.
I know I've moaned, but this is a lovely spot and would advise you to read up on admiral dighenis and the greek uprising against the british before you go, as there is a statue and interesting museum in the grounds to this fascinating period in greek - cypriot history.
Needless to say one must read as much as possible to truly understand those still contentious issues. I'm ashamed to say in the visitors book of the on-site museum some "wit' undoubtedly english has scrawled in their best blue biro 'bogeys' shameful.

| said: We have just come back from a fantastic stay at the St George in Paphos.
I read loads of reviews before booking the holiday and relied on them as we are fairly inexperienced hotel holidayers so I will be as accurate as possible.
It has to be said just to get the minor negatives out of the way this is not a 5* hotel but a good 4* - this just means that it lacked those extra touches of flair I presume you get from 5*.
The staff cannot do enough to help in fact you could as far to say that at some points they could be annoying because they were always asking if we needed anything. All speak good English as well.
Lovely arrival - porters ready to take bags to rooms and complimentary drinks on offer.
I have read reviews that people said the food was cold and lacked variety...we are very fussy about food and would say that this was not the case.....main dinner restaurant was buffet style therefore there were some similar dishes on offer to fit in with that style of dining. However, there was always a range of salads on offer, a mixture of international and British dishes, soup, show cooking on a griddle and a SUPERB CARVERY!! Food was never really piping hot as it is buffet style so food naturally loses heat - our advice is have dinner early to get the freshest selection.
Sitting on the balcony eating is fantastic with the sunset. OK not all food was great - but just like all restaurants some things on the menu just aren’t to everybody's taste. Just leave it on your plate - waiters clear so quickly - and go and get something else.
Breakfast has a huge variety but is the same each day. Cereals, pancakes, danishes, full english, fruit juices, coffees.
Hotel was always spotlessly clean, very cool and quiet. Rooms are basic but comfortable, lovely size beds and just the right amount of furniture.
Efficient maid service made sure room was always spotless on return from the pool.
The pool area was clean and there were always sunbeds available at the pool and beach. People do tend to put towels down and hold sunbeds without arriving for ages - so again best advice is to get in early to get a good spot.
Staff at pool bar are friendly and efficient walking around taking orders and bringing them to you.
Entertainment was not great, just average (can’t fault the effort though) if you want to be involved with cabaret type entertainment the outside night activities stage is the place for you (hypnotists, bingo etc)
If that is not really appealing to you (which it wasnt really for us) you can go inside to the relaxing Avakas bar to sit in comfy, cool surroundings and listen to the toned down music on the piano.
Plenty of activities on offer in the day if you want to join in....if not just sttay and relax the staff know when not to ask.
MAIN TIP: Don't tip any of the staff unless they do something superb not that they are not good but we found out that every single price you pay that is extra on your holiday includes VAT 17.5%, Service charge 10% and Tourist charge 3%.
So include all these things and that means prices are not that expensive. Maximum lunch at the pool bar is £4.50.
Overall however, if you do decide to stay at this hotel you will have a fantastic time!! Enjoy! :)

| said: We stayed at the St.George Hotel which is a short bus ride from Paphos Harbour.
We have been visiting this hotel for the past4 years. We usually visit in July, but this year we left it till August.
The hotel has certainly tried hard this year to introduce new and varied entertainment. The food is excellent. The staff especially in the restaurant and bars are really nice.
The hotel has started to introduce a different theme, with soft furnishings replacing the leather reception and lounge sofas. The rooms are well appointed and for us it doesn't really matter if we don't overlook the pool. We choose our rooms with convenience in mind.
This year we overlooked the villas next door and also had a fine view of the sea and the headland towards Coral Bay. Our balcony was pleasantly cool in the late afternoon allowing us to sit and read prior to preparing for our evening meal, which is much more preferable than trying to sit on ablisteringly hot balcony. Our room was clean and the maid service and any maintenance asked for was\dealt with in a courteous and very professional manner.
We would certainly recommend this hotel to other travellers.

This aside, the hotel, the food, the hotel grounds & private beach, the bedrooms, the facilities etc, etc were absolutely first class, 10 out of 10.
I could not find fault with the St George. A hotel I will definitely be returning to and I would highly recommend to anyone.

| said: I stayed at the St George Gardens last year and my sister stayed in the hotel.
We booked a suite in the hotel this year as we considered the rooms to be on the small side, and thought as there were three adults in our party we would have more space.
When we arrrived we were met in the lobby by the doorman who remembered us from last year, he quickly unloaded our hire car whilst we headed to reception to book in. We were shown to the bar and given a welcome drink whilst our luggage was transported to our room.
The suite proved to be very successful and very roomy basically two rooms divided by an interconnecting doorway. We had a lounge area with table and comfortable settees, a huge balcony with two exits. The lounge part had its own toilet and handbasin but no shower, the bathroom itself had a separate toilet and bidet and a jacuzzi bath. On arrival on all three beds there were bathrobes and slippers, and in the bathroom the usual selection of toiletries. The maid service was excellent towels changed as often as you wish. Linen changed every day.
Food was very varied, my sister who is vegetarian was well satisfied with the choice of menu, although I did feel at times there could have been more variety. Certainly for non veggies there was an excellent selection every night. Breakfast was the same every day, but still plenty of choice.
The very pleasant thing about this hotel is the staff they are so friendly, whether you've stayed here before or your first visit, they cannot do enough for you. Nothing is a trouble.
Once we had unpacked we rang down to reception and asked if it was possible for more pillows. Within 10 minutes of the phone call the housekeeper came with a full supply of as many pillows as we required. This is just a sample of the hospitality of the staff here at St George.
Cyprus is a wonderful place and the islanders are very friendly anyway, however, some people (like the staff here) go out of their way to make things just that little bit special.
The grounds of the hotel are immaculate, there is always someone tending the gardens watering the lawns, and even they smile!

| said: The entrance to the hotel is quite stunning with a wonderful double level wall sized window giving a spectacular sea view.
Our room was situated on the ground floor, and had good views of the sea but the pool view was obstructed by the restaurant roof which extended from the large balcony/terrace. The room was very spacious and had a bed settee and chair. The bathroom was o.k. but surprisingly for a fairly new building, beginning to show signs of wear and tear. However, the maid kept the room spotless and supplied fresh towels every day. Personal beach/pool towels supplied on arrival as were the dressing gowns and slippers. Pity however that they only supplied a medium size.
The grounds are excellent and kept spotlessly clean. The hotel is located next to the rocky beach, it does have a very small sandy cove, we were there in March and the sea was quite rough at times and looked as thought it would be dangerous to swim in(if brave enough to bear the cold), best to take local advice at the time. The hotel is set well back from the main road and we were never troubled at any time by traffic noise, in fact, although it was fairly busy, it was still very quiet and peaceful.
We found the quality of the food, especially at dinner, to be excellent. Varied menu every night with an excellent choice of salads, hot buffet & carvery. My only complaint was that some of the tables were put very close together and it felt a bit cramped at times. Found that by going a bit later you could get a better table as it became quieter. The lunch menu was very good and reasonably priced. Good choice also at breakfast.
Good compact gym with modern equipment. Good sauna & steam room with clear warning notices re standards of dress which, were printed in two languages but were clearly for the attention of Non British guests. The indoor pool was a bit small and could have benefited from better lighting. However, it was still quite pleasant.
The Hotel is not within walking distance of Paphos but is within a 10 minute bus ride. Two buses, No's 10 & 15 pass every 15 minutes and cost 70 cents, about 80 pence. A taxi is £5 Cypriot.
There was entertainment every night which we thought was good to very good. The karaoke was fun, hosted by a Greek Cypriot from South London. Very entertaining, amazing how he persuaded people to perform. We thought the bar prices were very good, considering it is a 4/5 star hotel. Under £2 for a pint of good beer, same for good measure of local brandy etc. There was also a happy hour.
The hotel staff were excellent. Very friendly which appeared genuine, very nice people.
The resort town of Paphos has some interesting attractions, especially the ancient sites. The town itself is the usual small tourist town with an abundance of restaurants & bars. Some good some not so good. We were warned about the Time Share Touts who are becoming a pest and handing out false scratch cards which of course are all winners. You are then led off to an office for the usual high pressure sales pitch. I watched them in action and took great delight in simply ignoring them completely. I heard one getting a row from his boss and he appealed to him by saying "he just completely ignored me what can I do". So beware, don’t let them waste your time, you have paid good money to go on holiday, simply smile and walk past.
Overall the St George is a very good hotel which maintains very good standards. I am not saying it is perfect, but it makes a pleasant change to encounter no problems. The food quality is excellent despite being completely buffet style.
I will go back and look forward to reading further reports.

Thompsons pass this hotel off as a 5 star hotel by awarding it 5'T's. Guests we met believed it was 5 star & paid extra for the privaledge. The hotel is ok but it is not 5 stars. The rooms are on the small side, with little furniture. The bathrooms are basic & have no bidet.(You should not put paper down the loo) The daytime & evening entertainments ( with 1 exception) are poor or non existent. The gym, both pools, jacuzzi etc. are only open 9am to 7pm. So no pre breakfast workouts or swims.
There is a frequent bus service into Paphos, but this does not run winter evenings.
POSITIVE-
On the positive side, The staff are very friendly & courteous. the food is good, if a little bland with a large selection. Vegetables are limited but there is always plenty of salad. The breakfasts are good, sometimes with 2 choices of bacon. The English sausages are exceptional, - The best I have ever had abroad. There is a fridge & TV with BBC in the room.

| said: The food was bland with little choice and some days no vegetables. The Dining area was very cramped with elbows touching the people on the next table.
The reception check in was appalling. The rooms were tiny and very rarely cleaned and in need of an update, Children were allowed a free run of the bar area whilst the entertainment was in progress.
Apart from reception the staff were freindly and helpful. We found that the prices were quite cheap compared with other hotels we have stayed in and we found several quite places in the hotel where you could sit and read.
We will not be going back!!!

The staff were friendly but we found that the bar service was very slow. Also the indoor swimming pool could do with being cleaned.
We found Cyprus very expensive and therefore will not be returning to the island.
The wedding was perfect and we all had a lovely holiday except for the weather being bad for most of our stay.

| said: Hotel staff were wonderful. The most friendly and polite staff I have met.
The hotel and bedroom were always kept spotlessly clean.
The food was so good we did not eat out, as we had expected to. Wonderful variety, superbly cooked.
Lovely gardens, lovely beach.
The evening entertainment was not to our liking, but there was enough room to have a quiet drink elsewhere in the hotel.
Prices were good for Cyprus, with a happy hour of half priced drinks.

| said: Marriage tourism has taken over. What used to be a sedate quiet hotel is now a marriage hotel with the marriage guests nosily celebrating their marriages while the other guests are trying to enjoy a quiet dinner!! Nothing against marriages but I don't want to be involved in one nearly every night for a fortnight! It spoiled our holiday. We didn't want Kareoke nights and Bingo fun - this hotel is now catering for mass tourism and we will never go there again. It doesn't deserve the custumers its getting.
Food was good. Service was perfect, pool was perfect, beautiful sunning area with plenty of shady trees. But please, please, please no more marriages in St. George.

| said: The Hotel and grounds are stunning with excellent facilities for Adults and Children. The rooms are small and disapointing. Also, the reception staff are extremely unhelpful and in some cases rude. We were lucky enough to be given the marriage suite at the St George Gardens. the St George gardens is much more family orientated. The staff there were very pleasant and i would definately return to the St george gardens.

| said: We had a really great two weeks at this lovely hotel. The hotel is very smart and the facilities, sports programme and entertainment very good. The food was very good although the menu was not that varied, it was still very good. This is a lovely hotel and the pool and beech area was lovely.

| said: We stayed at the St George's Gardens - a good choice - choosing it due to the fact that it was smaller than its sister hotel and hopefully a little more intimate(the St George's Hotel) and yet we could utilise the same facilities.
Very good standard of accommodation - though not for those who have difficulty walking - the hotel is build into the hillside - in total, we had almost 100 steps to mount from the beach (albeit there were stretches of flat to walk on between series of steps).
Though the hotel looked like a concrete block from some angles the room accommodation itself was very nice for the two of us with plenty of cupboard and wardrobe space.
Beautiful garden paths and walkways leading between the two hotels and down to the beach. Staff extremely helpful and courtious (discovered that a group of 30 of the young people employed there during the summer as part of a tourism and leisure course from Poland - well educated, well brought up young people - always with a smile on their face.
Food was very good - we ate far too much though! Location - wonderful spot on the coast - though needed a taxi ride or car into Pathos. Lack of walks nearby - very disappointed with builders leaving cartloads of debrie between one hotel and the next development, spoiling what could have been some splendid coastal walks.
Entertainment we felt was of poor quality. Particularly disturbing was the constant music played around the pool bars - which seemed to get louder in the second week - found we had to transport ourselves as far down on the beach as possibly to get away from the constant beats (the music surprisingly was aimed at the young when predominantly the clientel were of the mid forties and over!
We have found this scenario not uncommon in hotels throughout Europe - it's time for the clientel to make a stance (after all music is a very powerful tool which could add and shouldn't mar ones enjoyment of a relaxing holiday)!
A major item which marred our holiday was flight delays outward and inward bound - especially when we had paid a premium for good flight times! A letter will be on it's way to Thomsons holidays.

| said: We went to this hotel for our honeymoon and could not have made a better choice.
The rooms were excellent, the bath robes slippers sweets fruit and wine being a particularly nice touch and they did not know we were on honeymoon.
Maid service was twice daily.
The standard of cleanliness in all areas was exceptional.
The pool area was brill and there were plenty of activities going on at various times of the day.
The food was of a good quality with plenty of choice.
All the staff were extremely friendly and nothing was too much trouble for them.
We would definitely recommend this hotel for a quiet relaxing holiday.
Full marks St George keep up the good work.

| said: Stayed in this hotel in 2002 when it was virtually new and the apartments had not yet been built, and we could not fault it. In 2003 the hotel was trying to cope with the additional guests from the apartments using the facilitiies and resturants. In 2004 guests were expected to take their meals in sittings.
Room service menu hadn't changed for three years and standard resturant fare became monotonous. Upper bar evening entertainment is very good but eat early otherwise you won't be able to get a seat.
General entertainment seemed a bit dumbed down and not what we expected of a five star hotel
Outdoor pool, grounds and sunbeds immaculate and poolside service polite, friendly and efficient. There is a public promenade bisecting the sunbathing areas and a lot of building work has been completed in the vicinity and along the coastline and it seems that anyone can access the hotel grounds.
The foyer is elegant and well appointed. Our room was plain but had both a pool and sea view, which was well worth paying the extra for. The sunsets are stunning. It was late May and the weather was perfect with temp around 28 degrees
We were there when GMTV were filming ahead of the wedding and could only watch in disillusionment, as they were given the highest level of attentiveness, seating and service, which we enjoyed in 2002 but have been disappointed ever since.

The location was beautiful as were the hotel grounds which were beautifully kept including the pool.
The staff were extremely helpful and courteous.
The rooms were spacious and clean with all facilities you needed and the fruit and water and the robes and slippers there on arrival were a lovely extra touch.
I would definetly return here.

| said: We stayed at the St George in 2003, as we were witnesses at our friends wedding. They got married in Paphos Town Hall, which was lovely and had a champagne reception at the hotel. The whole wedding was arranged by Thomson and was perfect, the wedding organiser, Mandy, was superb. After the wedding, which, we spent the afternoon at the hotel Beach Bar which is so tranquil and then in the evening had a meze in a traditional taverna in Pathos town. There is a pool, complete with pool bar and sunbeds, plus grassed areas with umberallas and sundbeds and then a private beech. We had never gone half board before, as generally like to try out the local restaurants, but thought we would give it a go. The food was excellent with a wide choice and they would let you swap an evening meal for lunch if you wished to go out to a restaurant in evening for a change. The hotel room was spacious and clean. They gym although small, had just enough equipment to do a basic workout, all you really want to do on holiday. We plan to go back to St George again next year and I can't see that being the last time either. Excellent hotel.

| said: This hotel was amazing. I loved all of it. The staff where all very friendly and easy to talk to. I think thats important when you are on holiday. I would advise going for a bed and breakfast or half board holiday here however. The breakfast buffet is always delicious and the lunch and dinners that are on offer are great. The only thing i would say is that there is not a great deal of variety for the evening meal. I preferred to go out for dinner as there are loads of great restaurants around. There is loads of entertainment. cabaret, magic shows, karaoke, musical performances etc in the evenings and loads of water sports and things for the daytime. The pool and poolbar were both great and the beach is almost next to the pool. the sea is always great for cooling down in cyprus as the pool tends to get warm as the sun gets hotter in the day. The hotel was also very clean all the time. the rooms are cleaned everyday. i would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a good holiday. The bar and coffee lounge are especially pleasant places to be and to socialise.

| said: I've been to Cyprus 4 times and I'm goin again this year and it will be my second time at the St George 2. The hotel itself is fantastic, the reception area is especially breath-taking as you walk in. I can't fault the hotel at all but if I had to be picky I would say the soup always tasted the same, no matter what flavour it was supposed to be. The rooms are spacious if there are 2 of you and the views of the pool are the sea are amazing.
