| said: Hotel cleanliness was very hit and miss, our room was very clean, but certain parts of the hotel were not. The reception area tables did not seem to be wiped from morning until night, although there was a no smoking sign up people were still smoking inside, probably because it was raining. Also the public toilets in reception had a certain aroma about them (I do not think disinfectant is used in Bulgaria). The restaurant was quite an experience, always something missing i.e spoons, forks, plates, cups, glasses, teapots. Never went in once and able to get a table with a full set of cutlery and crockery (which you had to be quite careful about as a lot of it was chipped and cracked. My husbands cup leaked all over the table as we did not realise it had a crack right through it, not what you would expect from a 4* hotel! Also (German) children allowed to run riot around the centre serving isles, were people were carring soup etc., parents totally not bothered, even though other people complained to staff nothing was done about it - think because it was nearing the end of the season staff had switched off. The weather when we were here was terrible, and I know that it not anyones fault, but sun bed pads were left on sunbeds in all the rain, so when we did get a bit of a sunny day you could not lay on the !sunpads without getting a rather large wet patch on your bottom! Plenty of room to store sun pads, so why were they left on in the first place? Also a large problem with wasps, they are everytwhere outside, and tend to gather in large numbers around the soft drinks machines in the pool bar and the snack bar, not very nice when you get one floating in the drink you have just poured out. Also signs up everywhere politely asking people not to take food away from the snack bar, but people who think they do not have to abide by any rules were taking plates full of food and leaving them round the pool (too idle to take plates back) so therefore attracting more wasps and flys (Arghh) I found myself turning into grumpy old women as the week went on. Entertainment in the Rainy Bar was vert German orientated - German songs for them to sing along too - not that this was a bother but they do tend to take over. Would not go back to this hotel, infact would not go back to Bulgaria again (just did not feel comfortable in this resort).

| said: We were so impressed at the size and cleanliness of the hotel reception area, the friendliness of the staff, and the lovely bedroom.
On our arrival at 1.30am we were told that the restaurant was open for us to have food and drinks. I cannot fault anything in the accomodation, we took a travel kettle to make an early morning drink.
The food was varied and nicely cooked, lots of choice.
The pools were very cold but lots of sunbeds.
My grand daughter was poorly with a chest infection while we were there so had to visit the on site medical centre, the doctor there was excellent and as we had insurance with an excess waiver there was nothing to pay.
The hotel is just across the promenade from a lovely sandy beach and the beach bar was open from 10-4.30.
The entertainment seemed to be more for the Germans than English, but I suppose thats because they join in more than we do.
I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

| said: We spent one week in the Riu Evrika hotel in Sunny Beach and thought it was a brilliant hotel with excellent services and facilities. As a couple, family, group of friends, any one should enjoy a holiday here, just be aware that there are mixed nationalities staying here so if you don’t like to mix with others on holiday, choose somewhere with just British holidaymakers. Going on holiday is about experiencing different cultures and people though so most people should be fine here.
On arrival, check-in was quick and efficient. You have to hand in your passports and they hold them until you check out, you are given a band to fasten round your wrist just like most other all inclusive places, a sheet of hotel info like meal times, services etc and a card to allow you a towel for each person in your party. This card enables you to get a fresh clean towel every day from the pool area for sunbathing, you hand the towel back at the end of the day and you get you card back to use the next day.
Don’t lose the card, you will be charged 20 levs! A porter escorts you to your room and assists with luggage so try and have some change or small notes handy for a tip. Our room was a double (twins pushed together) but was HUGE, so much bigger than any other room I’ve stayed in. We were pleased to find air con, a tv and fridge in the main room along with a sofa and coffee table, a balcony with chairs and table, bathroom with shower and hairdryer and soap/shampoo to be replaced daily. Wish we had known that you didn’t need to take ANY towels and that there would be a tv for some entertainment (quite a few channels showing English speaking films, music etc), we could have saved room in the suitcase instead of taking towels, stereo and hairdryer!! There was also plenty of space for clothes and belongings to be put away.
There are 2 pools, one shaped pool which is quite large and used by the families and children and a smaller pool behind another block which is a bit quieter. As I said towels are provided here. There is also a section of the beach across the road for use of hotel guests, with a bar especially for Evrika guests on the sand so you don’t have to go back to the hotel to get a drink. Beware if the weather is overcast or showers, this brings jellyfish into the shallow waters and you will see hundreds of them just a few meters out into the sea.
The animation team put on a full day of activities for all ages, they run a kids club, teenagers club and things for adults too. There will be a range of games and competitions for adults being held several times a day, including shuffleboard, darts, football, water polo, table tennis, volleyball, water aerobics, stretching, bocca (like boules I think?), air gun shooting, and many others, they will come round the pool area to round up people to take part and it is all a bit of fun, don’t take it seriously! If you like to take part, you will not get bored!
The animation team also do a few shows throughout the week in the evening in the amphitheatre, comedy, singing etc… which they really put a lot of effort into. The humour is a bit slapstick and ‘European’ but it is entertaining and a fun way to pass an hour in the evenings. They also have a couple of professional shows in the amphitheatre, dancing and traditional Bulgarian stuff.
The meal times are well managed with dishes being replenished constantly so nothing runs out. There is a wide range of food out at each meal and also in the snack bar, enough to have something different each time. For lunch and dinner in the main restaurant there is different food each day along with stuff that is there every day. You will always get salads, bread, chips, pasta, Bolognese, pizza etc for those more unadventurous.
Finally, this hotel is so CLEAN, I’ve not seen anything like it.
There were always cleaners around making sure every area is spotless, and they clean your room every day not just a quick whip round but a thorough going over every single day. With over 200 members of staff in this hotel, nothing gets overlooked and nothing seems too much trouble.
The staff are friendly and the majority speak a range of languages (at least the basics) and really make an effort to communicate with everyone well.

| said: Hi, just got back from the Evrica it is a lovely hotel especially for families.
The staffs are very friendly and the pool area is brilliant always plenty of sun beds large swimming pool, Jacuzzi and kid’s pool. The only down side to this hotel is there is no air conditioning in any of the rooms, and the food is ok. Always found something to eat but it’s like every hotel, same food most of the time.
Apart from that it was a brilliant hotel. I would recommend Sunny Beach to anyone. That’s twice we’ve been and would go again. It’s so cheap and plenty to do.
p.s watch out for the snakes and crocks down the street they try to put them on you to get pictures taken. They stand at the same bits every night so you will get to know where they are.

| said: When you first arrive in reception you would think that you were in a 4 star hotel but don’t be fooled!!
There is a 4 star annex but this is only used by the German guests! The rest of the blocks are 3 star, the rooms are large and clean but beware there is no air conditioning and our room was stifling. I asked for an upgrade to a room with air conditioning (as did others) but was told this was not possible....the air conditioned rooms in the 4 star block were only for German guests!! So be warned.
The rest of the hotel is generally clean, although the toilets were quite dirty at times. The pool was always really clean as were the surrounding areas. So onto the food, you do get a choice of meal sittings for the evening meal 1st choice is 6pm to 7.30pm and 2nd is 8pm to 9.30 and you get to keep the same table every evening for your stay. As in previous reviews I will say the food does become very repetitive after 5 to 6 days especially at lunchtimes because its the same thing pretty much every day, if you like pizza you will be fine!! I got food poisoning for the last 3 days from the snack bar and was violently ill for at least 24 hours of the 3 days; in fact I lost half a stone in weight! My wife and child were fine throughout the holiday so this was probably an isolated incident as I did eat something different to them on the day I got ill.
We ate out once but I would have eaten out more if we had taken more money and of course you begrudge paying to eat out when you have paid for all inclusive! It is very cheap to eat out though and the local beer is great! The food is not of high quality but tasty enough just don’t expect the Ritz!!
The location of the hotel is good for the beach which is just across a small quiet road and if you turn right out of the back entrance of the hotel you will see the 'prom' its just the same as any seafront you will find back home...full of tacky stalls and shops, fast food places and a McDonalds! The sunloungers are free on the beach for hotel guests directly in front of the hotel so that is good but you need to get up early to reserve them. The pools are not so much a problem and we always managed to get loungers when we got up.
The staff are friendly and polite and always keen to learn the language, look out for Daniel, one of the bar staff, a good laugh with a good sense of humour. We didn’t see much entertainment but what we did see was quite good. There are 3 bars the 1st is called the Lobby bar and this is the quietist, just an MTV screen on the wall and this closes at 11pm. The 2nd is the Rainy bar; this has Karaoke every night until 11pm also. The 3rd is called the Salon bar and is the largest the main show starts in here every night at 9.30 pm, be warned though it gets very hot in there and if you don’t get in before 9pm you wont get a seat. The shows we did see were quite good though and before all of that they have a kids disco at 7.30pm outside.

| said: We have just returned from our first holiday to Sunny Beach and would definetly return to Evrika. I have a 2 year old son and I felt that the hotel was great for children and we felt very safe. It is just a few steps from the beach and the pool is fantastic. We always managed to get sunloungers/parasols which are included on the all inclusive option.
The Hotel was very clean and the rooms were spacious. We had a twin room but there was plenty of room for a double sofa bed (which my son slept in) and for a cot. Room were cleaned and towels replaced every morning and bedding changed twice a week. Only insects we saw were a few ants on our balcony.
I really enjoyed the food and didnt find it too repetative, although I personally would have prefered some of the meet cooked more. Breakfast there is bacon, eggs, toast, cereal, fruit, croisants, yoghurt, plus cheese and ham for the German guests. There is a snack restaurant by the pool which is a little repetative with chips, pizza, hot dogs etc everyday... plus lots of ice cream and fruit. Main meals changed each evening but you choose from potatoes, chips or rice each night. Also has a kids section. Desert was always fruit or ice cream with lovely little cakes. You choose from two sitting times when you arrive and then you always have the same table number. the first time is 6pm (but you can arrive anytime up to about 7pm) and the second was 8.30pm. We went with the first sitting as did most families with children. I expect the later times was better for couples with less kids! The only negative thing about the main restaurant is that it doesnt have much atmosphere, with no music etc. There were two feature nights (Greek and spanish nights for our stay) but its just the menu, no music or anything. Gave us an excuse to try local restaurants though!
Bar staff were good and spirits are in very strong measures. I would have prefered fruit juice but if you ask for vodka and orange, you get orange squash.. Wine was actually quite nice though and husband is still talking about the beer!
The entertainment team are quite good, but due to having young child we didnt get very involved. There is water aerobics, games, beach volley ball and the usual during the day, and shows in the evenings. They try to cover as much in english, german and bulgarian as they can. Great for kids with play areas, nursery, area for them to paint pottery and kids clubs. My son loved the clown who did the kiddies disco each evening at 7.30am outside.
I had heard scarey reports of a brothel being onsite. There is a stripclub called the Golden Apple on site, but it doesnt open to quite late when we were all in bed anyway! You dont see any of the girls from the club on the site during the day/early evening and so it caused no problem whatsoever to my family. Could perhaps be an issue if you have teenage boys though :o)
There is a 24 hour doctor on site which my mum used and found very helpful.
Hope this helps.

| said: We found this hotel to be of a very high standard. Rooms cleaned every day, if you were still in room would come back at a later time, she would even fold the kids sleep blankets.
Staff constantly cleaning the hotel.
Food was excellent sometimes a bit repetitive but there was a wide choice available so you would not necessarily need to pick the same things all the time.
There was always something different for the children to eat but they did provide the usual pizza, sausages etc everyday just in case.
The location was ideal right on the beach and within walking distance of the centre of the resort. Couple of bars near to the hotel but our family room was not near to them.
Hotel staff very friendly and always spoke. Bar staff friendly but sometimes a bit slow.
We did have a problem with one noisey neighbour but we contacted reception and they arranged for security to deal with straight away and it was.
Entertainment generally started from 10am, kids club 10 -12 and 3 - 5 but mostly used by the German children. Adult activities also started at 10am variety of games throughout the day.
The Animation team were very friendly and tried to get everyone involved.
Rarely saw the evening entertainment so would not like to comment.
Definetly would like to visit again soon!

| said: Me and my hubby and my friends and there daughters have just returned from the Riu Evrika and found the hotel to be brilliant in every way.
Our room was cleaned every day and the maid worked around us and that was good because normally if you are still in bed they miss you and come back the next day but she did our room every day no matter what.
The food was very good but got a bit the same after 2 weeks but the choice was excellent and you could eat from about 8am till 9 at night.
There is also a snack bar during the day if you feel a bit peckish. The hotel is on the sea front and you do not have to pay for the sun beds or umberellas so thats good as it can get expensive.
There is also a beach bar that is part of the all inclusive as well you can only get soft drinks and beer though from this.
The pool at the rear of the hotel is huge and very nice there is also a sun terrace for the serious sun worshippers ha ha that would be me lol.
There was entertainment in the hotel but to be honest we did not bother with it so I cant really comment. I loved this hotel but i am sorry to say I was not that impressed with sunny beach itself it was to much like a spanish resort for me.
I almost forgot you get towels every day for round the pool and can change them in a morning and at night if you wish this is also included in the AI.
Hope anyone going to this hotel will enjoy there stay as there is no reason why they should not.

The last day I had my money stolen from the hotel room a little interest from the reception and manager wouldn't have gone a miss. This cancelled out all the good things about the holiday. Heard the safes aren't any safer as they got broken into during the stay as well.
Food became very repetitive night after night chips and pasta for me everynight and no gateaux to be seen.
You can walk right out of the hotel near enough on to the beach which was great and bars and restaurants are everywhere along the beach front.
Mini disco is available for the younger kids at night, they seemed to enjoy and also as a souvenir you can buy the hotels songs that they played during the stay. Including there club song!
If you wanna cheap holiday this is the place to go!

Infact we had been at Austrialia for 3 weeks the year before and they told me after the holiday had finished that they loved Bulgaria far better than going to Austrialia. Going back next year with nearly everyone we met there. so that must tell you how good it is. We thought the food was great different every night we were there, and every night the entertainment was brilliant.
Not a great place for sightseeing but thats the only complaint. If you want fun and a cheap holiday bulgaria and the riu evrika are the place to go.

There are activities going on all the time if you want to participate - the entertainment staff are excellent and really made our holiday.
Situated on the beach it is out of the centre but a little train leaves ever few minutes outside the hotel to take you down for 2lev.
There are bars and shops all the way along the beach - very cheap!! I cannot say enough about this hotel. It is advertised as 3star but in my opinion definately 4 star. I cannot say enough about this hotel - we loved it!!

We couldnt unpack as we were to move to diffent rooms the following morning, although we were quite upset about this at the time.
The hotel did more than enough to compensate us for our trouble by giving us all pool view rooms and another room free and also allowing us to keep one of the rooms on the last day till 8pm free of charge .

| said: Food was All Inclusive, which we were wary of especially as we are vegetarians, but we were surprised at how many options were available if you were happy to eat the same things almost every night. For meat eaters, there was always a wide variety of food. Breakfast 7.30 - 10am (all) 10-12pm (cold only) - cereals, toast, breads, rolls, croisants, cheeses, sliced meats, fried eggs, scrambled eggs, crepes, sausages, tomatoes, beans etc. Lunches (in restaurant 12-2pm) 2 choices soup (1 was veggie), 2 types hot meat dishes, vegetables, chips, pizza, pasta, salads, cakes, fruit, mousse type puddings, ice cream, in snack bar (12 - 3pm) - chips, burgers, hot dogs, ribs, kebabs (meat option varied daily) toasted sandwiches, pizza, pasta, biscuits, ice cream.
Afternoon tea in snack bar (3 - 5pm) - sandwiches, cakes, ice creams
Dinner in restaurant - 2 sittings 6-7.30 and 8-9.30 - allocated on arrival - but if you are not happy they will change your sitting for you (we did). - food similar to lunch - 2 meat dishes, a fish dish, sometime veggie macaroni cheese, pasta pizza etc.
Reastaurant has smoking and non smoking sections. Drinks with meals include soft drinks, cordials, rehydration drinks (a nice touch for those who needed it), beer red / white wine and water. Just help yourself to anything you want. Food is cooked fresh on the "hot buffet" area, so you can pick which pieces you want!!!! At the start of the sittings, the staff line up and wish you "bon appetit" as you enter!!! The entertainment guide is outside the restaurant (which is on 2nd floor but has a lift to it) and some staff wait outside the restaurant at dinner time in themed outfits - relating to entertainment that night - imagine the "Grease" night, with staff dressed up as pink ladies and whatever the men the wearing, dancing and miming to the songs as you go to the restaurant!!
Cleaners cleaned the rooms every day and changed towels daily if you left them on the floor. They supply pool towels as well so you dont need to really take your own. Toiletries (sample size) are in the bathrooms along with a hairdryer. The whole bathroom is tiled and is lethal when wet, so we put the small hand towels on the floor to stop the kids getting hurt. There were a lot of Germans in the hotel, and it is clear that the staff prefer the english to the germans and love the kids. (My son always got the freshest and best foods!!!)
On the whole the staff are great. Entertainment was from 7.30 am until almost midnight.
There are 5 bars in total - a beach bar (make sure you sit in the right area on the beach otherwise you will get charged for the sunbeds. Evrika guests get them free on the evrika beach), a lobby bar, a pool bar, a rainy bar and the bar saloon. They all have pretty much the same drinks - coffee, tea, water, cordials, fruit juices, gin, vodka, liquors tequilla etc. They have 3 set cocktails that they do for adults and 2 for kids, but if you ask for something else they will make it if they have the right spirits (we had tequilla sunrise and a baileys!!!) - The baileys blows your head off!!! Cocoa liquor, whisky, milk and cream!!!!
They also serve Vermouth types. There is a menu with all options on it. There is no limit to how many drinks you can take at a time. Some people were taking over 10 drinks at once to save queuing, but the longest we ever queued was less than 5 minutes - I wait longer at my local!!
We had a family room - which had 2 single beds, a double camp bed (I slept here with the baby!!) and a cot, but there was still enough room for another bed if needed. There was a triple wardrobe (with hangers!!)
two bedside tables, a dressing table area, 2 small coffee table, a mini fridge and a TV. When we arrived, after midnight, they had opened the restaurant for us and there was breads, cheeses, sliced meats, salads, and some fruit waiting for us - this was a nice surprise as we were expecting to go hungry until the next day.
The hotel was slightly out of town centre (ideal for kids though) at the start of the promenade. We found this ideal as we were at the start of the shops, bars etc and if you walk to the central areas without stopping it only took 10 mins. It took us much longer as we didnt want to miss anything in any of the shops!!!
My husband enjoyed it so much that we are booking to go again next year!!! I couldn't recommend it more

The hotel is very family orientated with loads for the kids to do all day, the hotel entertainers were very friendly and took time out to talk to you if they could speak your language.
The pool was lovely and cleaned every night.
It was only a 15 minute walk up to the central part of the resort and our hotel was 5 minutes to the beach with free loungers and beach bar which was great.
Weather was fantastic and I would recommend this hotel to anyone but especially for families.

Each room came equipped with a tv showing three English channels and a hairdryer in the bathroom. Rooms were cleaned daily although on several occasions no towels were left in the bathrooms. All public areas were well kept and a number of staff were dedicated to sweeping up the garden areas and garden maintenance.
The food has been described as 'International', many meals comprised of stews and the soups were good. However many main courses were not kept as hot as normal as apparently Bulgarians prefer them that way.
Unlike many all inclusive properties, the Evrika's food provision ended at dinner. We were given the earliest of two sittings - from 6pm to 7.30pm which allowed our children to participate in the Mini Disco held from 7.30 onwards. The hotel has its own entertainments team who are fluent in several languages. The hotel run Mini Club runs for two and a half hours in the morning and two hours in the afternoon. Our children enjoyed the activities despite being in a minority as not being able to speak German.
The hotel has its own section of the beach with sun loungers and a beach bar - accessed through the use of hospital type bands - red for children and peach for adults.
Whilst we enjoyed the time spent at this property, the temperature of the food concerned us at times (having young children) and both my husband and I agreed that we would prefer to be more central to the resort.

| said: We stayed at the Hotel Riu Evrika, as a change to spain.we had never been to Bulgaria and didn't know what to expect. What a lovely surprise when we arrived we where greeted by reception who organised the staff to carry the bags to the room. the rooms were spotlessly clean and spacious with good space for clothes. The bathroom was large + all tiled and well equiped. the resturante was clean and with a good choice of food hot and cold and all meat was cooked infront of you. The hotel was situated about 50m for the beach and the hotel surounded the large horse shoe pool. there were sun loungers to go around beach towels were surpplyed by the hotel and could be changed as many times as you wanted to. The hotel staff were very helpfull nothing was too much trouble for them. the maids came in and changed the towels every day and bed linan twice a week. if you happen to leave cloths unfolded they folded them and placed them on the beds. Entertainment was good and catered for all ages.

| said: I spent two weeks in Sunny Beach in June, stayed in hotel RIU Evrika. Our hotel was all-inclusive but we still ate out sometimes. Our hotel was 3+ stars, but I think it should be at least 4. The reason why it´s only 3+ is that there is no air conditioning, only a ventilation in the bathroom. This did not bother us. We kept the balcony door always open and if it felt too hot we opened the front door as well and the breeze from the sea cooled the room in just a few minutes. Our room vas very nice with mini fridge, satellite tv and a sea-wiev. The hotel is situated in the north part of SB near hotels Bellevue and Victoria Palace. There´s a regular mini-train service. Train goes every 15minutes to centrum and costs 1,5lev (75cent). The pool area was absolutely the best I´ve ever had or even seen! Pool is very large with separated kids area. There is also a water volley area in the pool. The pool area is very nice looking with briges going over the pool and it has a roof teracce with sun chairs. There is a pool bar and near the pool are a snack bar. As I said, the hotel is all-incl. so all food and drinks were included in the price. The hotel has its own beah area with sunbeds and umbrellas and a beach bar. Food was quite good and it had nice variety. The meals that are included are:breakfast (both buffet and continental 7-12), lunch (at main restaurant 12-14 and at snack bar 12-15), tea time (at snack bar 15-17) and dinner which has two seatings, ours was 20-21.30. The hotel offered both day-time and nigh-time entertainment for adults, teens and kids. They had water aerobics, darts, water volley, football, rifle shooting, aerobics and different kinds on competioins and games. Every night there was live music and a different show organised by the entertainment team. I really enjoyed my holiday and would definately go back to this hotel.

| said: this hotel i think deserves more then just 3 stars, i had a fantstic holiday and would recommend it to anyone
it was a very clean hotel, on our first night out we came back to find the maids had made the place spotless, they even folded all our clothes up and put our pjamas under our pillows
the food was good, tho some days there wasnt much variance in what you could eat but it was always tasty
the staff were very friendly and made our stay very pleasurable, and they were great with the kids
the evening entertainment was a great laugh, and there was always something going on in the day, the one thing that i was quite impressed with was that we had our own all inclusive bar on the beach so we didnt even have to pay for drinks when we were out of the hotel!!!
and also the beauty salon they have there was so unbelievable cheap, massages, facials, pedicures allsorts and it worked out at about £6 a time...
il definetly be back next year

| said: The hotel was very large, seperated into open blocks which helped keep it cool - you could open front and back doors and let the air flow through!
The pools were great as were the bars and restaurants.
This was the first year that First Choice had come to Bulgaria and unfortunately the Rep did not really know what he was doing, however this didn't ruin the holiday at all.
The children had a wonderful time and we could always get something to eat.
The staff were lovely and they definitely preferred the English to the Germans who made up about 80% of the hotel.
All in all a great holiday.
