| said: We stayed at the ralitsa 3 because we didnt know you could have family rooms at the ralitsa superior anyway we all really loved it there the pool was massive with great entertainment throughout the day and night although there wasnt much nightlife as it was for familys suiting young children , the hotel staff were very friendly especially the animation team they were very funny. Without the animation team it would have been quite boring.
There is entertainment 6 days a week in the ralitsa 4's theartre but ralitsa three could go to watch it too.
We never had a problem with getting sun beds.
The town was about a ten minute walk from the hotel and there was loads of market shops full of authentic bulgarian gifts.
The only downpoint was the cleanliness of the entertainment pool toilets and the snack bar toilet but the room cleanliness was extremely good !! :)
we would definatley come back to the complex but to the ralitsa 4 rather than ralitsa 3,As we are english and the english tend to go to ralitsa 4.

| said: Stayed in the Ralitsa Superior which is 4 star! We were pleasantly suprised by our room which had 2 bathrooms and was like a room at the Hilton! Rooms were cleaned every day, towels changed every day! Air con and use of fridge were free. Irons available free of charge at reception!
The food was fine, I have a family of fussy eaters but there was something available for us all. Breakfast consisted of fresh fruit, cereal, croissants etc, french toast, eggs, bacon, sausage (frankfurter style), toast, pancakes (kids loved these with chocolate sauce, yoghurt, dried fruit.... list goes on... Lunch and dinner had the same kind of food available, but was always varied. As we were all inclusive all the local spirits and beers and soft drinks were free... lucky for us from the 14th July the hotel went Ultra all inclusive which meant all the cocktails and further drinks were free, there was a drinks menu to let you know what was free!
The hotel is about a 10 min walk (slow walk in the heat) from the beach but there is a free bus that takes you every 30 mins - we didnt feel the need to use it. There are taxis waiting around the hotel, you can haggle a bit with the prices of your journey, they will take you wherever you want to go and wait on you or come back for you if its somewhere close. The bus service isnt great, we got a minibus to Varna, it was 5lev per adult but you have to run to get on the bus as no-one seems to recognise a queuing system! Found it worse trying to get back from Varna, we had to become quite rude and just bunk the queue like everyone else!
Some staff were friendlier than others, I sometimes got the feeling that they pretended they didnt understand english, I asked for a coke (from the coke machine) and one bar staff looked confused, I simply asked for cola and he understood! I also felt that sometimes we were ignored when queuing for a drink, but quite frankly it was the other guests in the hotel who didnt believe in queuing, they just walked up to the bar and got served immediately, so I ended up doing the same!
There is an animation team in the hotel, the kids loved them. They were mainly located at the Ralitsa 3* pool a few minutes walk from the 4* which was much quieter. There is a show on every evening in the animation hall at 9.30 to 10.30, quite amusing and some great dancers!
The only downside to the holiday was me and my hubby had the runs a couple of times, not sure what caused it, I put it down to the fact that I dont usually eat 3 course meals at breakfast lunch and dinner!
The only reason i wouldnt visit this hotel again is the fact that we had to travel to Bourgas Airport which was a 2.5 hour drive (we were in a minibus as we were the only n.irish family staying there), our flight was originally to Varna which is about 50 mins drive and would have suited much better as my son suffers from travel sickness.
All in all we enjoyed the holiday very much.

| said: the food , well wat can i say me and my group aint fussy eaters. but the food was diabolical, same choice for the whole two wks we were there. we ate there the first day but after that ate out every night. the smell was enough to put any one off.
Rooms were cleaned every day by our cleaner, lovely lady. worked all hours for rubbish money, she was happy with the big tip at the end from our group.the only thing our shower didnt work properly, half the time.
The location of the hotel, well we was about 10 mins walk from the town, the town was about 400 meters long, was glad to see the back of it after two wks looking at the same shop.
Hotel staff not the nicest, they were more for the germans than the english, they had prioty over us.
Entertainment wat is that, during our stay there was one show up by the pool side, this was a german lady singing.
would NEVER visit this hotel again, worst place we have every been.

They were very rude to the British people and only cared for the German/Dutch. The location was very good and food away from hotel was nice. The entertainment is very bad and is done in other Ralitsa Hotel which the staff and German/Dutch do not like you using, entertainment finishes far to early well thats when you get told there is any!!! Also we thought we were staying in the 4 star hotel and got placed in the 3 star hotel and we would never go back there again. One good thing we did enjoy was at 12.30 down by the pool all the animations team would go round pool and get people up to do the Bomba it was fab!!!

| said: We booked this holiday and then decided to read reports on it. Needless to say we were really worried about going. We were pleasently surprised when we did arrive.
The rooms were clean, well maintained with frest towels when needed and clean bed linen twice a week.
Cleaners were absolutely lovely. My 2 year old loved them as they would grab him and cuddle him whenever they set eyes on him.
Reception were always helpful when needed.
Bars do close at 11pm on the dot even if you are in a queue they will not serve you with all inclusive drinks after this time. You must get your drinks in early to avoid disapointment (as we found out the hard way).
We never had the same meal twice in the 2 weeks we were there. There is so much choice that you do not need to eat the same each day. Unless you are fussy. None of us suffered with stomache upset and we all tried most things.
You do have to pay for extras like air conditioning, some of the drinks and safes. None of them are expensive though. If like we had 3 rooms, they give you a remote for the air conditioning and it will work in each room so only pay for one room!
Pleasent walk into town or to the lovely beach, but they do supply a bus free of charge if you would prefer.
Pools were great, we stayed by the quiet pool as we had kids withus and it was not so busy. Even the little one was happy to play in the pool. There were a few accidents because of people doing things they shouldn't have been doing around or in the pool and then security stepped up a notch. Until then life guards were nowhere to be seen.
Quite a small town with mostly the same shops throughout. Lots of bars and restaurants. Poco-Loco is lovely and well worth a visit.
Did not see much of the evening entertainment as the hall was packed. What I did see was very basic. By the time they had said it in 6 different languages you had kind of lost the plot! We prefered sitting at the bars and chatting. The kids could let off a bit of steam that way.
For the money we all thought this was a good hotel. For the extras I would probably spend a bit more and stay in a 4-5* next time.
Not a bad holiday all in all.

We all had a brilliant time!Really didnt want to come home and face reality- car broke, bills, weans arguing and rain!! etc! I think some people forget they are abroad and expect home standards- holidays are what you make them! Accomodation was absolutely fine and kept very clean by 2 lovely maids. Only thing was where we were ANTS! Bought some insect repellant and sprayed the room problem solved! My 2 kids - Molly 12 and Ryan 8 had an absolute ball and spent most of their time in one of the lovely pools. Im a wee bit fussy and didnt like the food too much but there is plenty of choice and hubby and kids did ok. First time weve went all inclusive and it was well worth it- food and drink from 7am till 11pm the kids were on a sugar and junk food binge for 2 weeks ice cream soft drinks pizza sausage n chips best of all they could help themselves! We met some lovely people and teamed up with them - seperate families and the kids are talking now Birmingham-Glasgow due to the internet! We have to send "Still Game" to a lovely couple we met!Us 2 wives got rather greedy on the "orgasms" and "sex on the beach" Cocktails which were cheap as chips! No probs reccomending this hotel enjoy!!

| said: Here we go again, First time to Bulgaria! Last time to Bulgaria!!!!
The hotel was clean and tidy a bit of maintenance required as its very poorly lit and my partner has a sight problem.
As with most reports cleaning staff excellent always polite and friendly. The rest however ignorant unless your German!!
The food? ( it was food??) I'm not convinced that that stodge and effluence that was served in the restaraunts could be described as food!! As with previous reports food poisoning was the order of the week.
Entertainment again I'm not sure there was any. However not being German we wouldnt understand or be told anyway.
The hotel is situated in an ok area. The beach takes a little finding but is pleasant enough when you finally run the gaunlet of tatt merchandise and " Cheap Taxi 20 Lev I do good price!" A kind of war chant proclaimed by just about every Bulgarian we met.
If I can offer any advice, for gods sake dont get the bus to Varna from the bus Station as we were violently mugged on arrival in downtown Varna. 5 people physically rushed and stole my partners purse then having found no money inside( not that stupid boys!!!) Tried to sell us back an empty purse for 50 Lev.
Please if your wanting a cheap holiday dont go to Bulgaria read the reports here and follow the advice.

Maids cleaned the rooms every day- and were very creative in the way the beds were made.
The bar staff seemed to not be at all interested in serving and I found most of them were more into talking to each other than pulling pints.
The food was always cold and very repetitive. On more than one occasion the resturant staff had whisked my plate away before I'd actually finished eating.
There was not much to do if it rained(which it did for 3days solid)if it is wet the floors become extremely slippery.
The hotel is located in a nice wooded area, only 10 min walk to the beach. There are ramps to help disabled or pushchairs to reach areas that have steps.
This hotel is more geared up for adults than children and it is very noisy at night.

We would definitely go back there again.
The cleaners were always busy yet they were rude too us when we came in from the clubs.
There werent many clubs although the main club we found was only a 2 minute walk and was fantastic.
The food was good until the second week were we became tired of having the same over and over.
The bar staff were friendly untill the last night were one of our friends threw a banana at one of the bar man ( he wasnt too happy) haha other than that they were great.
There were a few things going on at night but not much and not every night.
There was also a legendary dance at 12 every afternoon except Saturday called BOMBA!!! Fun Fun Fun.
All in all I would strongly recomend this hotel and would definitely revisit ourselves!!!

| said: The hotel room was small but clean and the maids cleaned every day. Albena town centre is only a 10 minute walk away or you could get the free train or bus from outside the reception. Pools were great and our children enjoyed the pools and made plenty of friends. We found the food to be good. Plenty of choice. The food was not great for small children but they always managed to find something to eat. The downside to this hotel is the entertainment. The show lasts for 1 hour and that it is. The pool bars stay open until 11 but with no music the night times became very boring. Ventured into Albena a couple of nights but found the night times turned really cold even though we were there in August. It was good value for money but they need to address the entertainment issue if they want people to go back again.

| said: We were recommended Bulgaria by a number of people, most saying how good the all inclusive deals were.
The Hotel was very clean and tidy, and the location was very pleasant. The staff were mostly very nice and friendly to...
The pool areas are fantastic, and the facilities are generally very good, but they don't believe in the same safety aspects as we do in the UK, e.g the lifeguard(?) was more interested in the girls than any potential hazard.
However, now for the 'Take Care' part...!
We have two small children - The rooms are very poorly adapted for them. Ask for a crib/cot if you need one but DON'T expect there to be much room for it.
The food was ok for me, but my Wife and kids all had the 'Tourist Fox-Trot'. It's very rich, unless you can live on Pizza, chips and mini kievs (Plenty of fruit and cereal though...).
The hotel is nearly all geared up for our German/Dutch friends, so don't bank on the entertainment being much cop unless you either speak fluent German/Dutch or are taking a translator with you ;)
Finally, my biggest gripe, I really like to relax with a beer/spirit on my jolly's. Don't think that 'All Inclusive' means 'All Inclusive'. It doesn't. You can have beer and straight Spirits - BUT it doesn't include MIXERS. You have to pay for them. AND, the Bar closed at 11pm ON THE DOT every night, and unless you wanted to knock it on the head, you had to either a) queue like a muppet for 20 mins at 10.40pm or b) you had to ensure that you got yourself enough drinks to make an Irish wedding reception proud on your final visit.
Good luck if you go, and the guy who draws pencil portraits at the front by the newspaper stand is utterly talented.
Bon Voyage.

| said: Felt obliged to leave a review for this hotel.
Most of the reviews we read were negative before we booked but intrigued by the pictures and the price we gave it a shot!
I'll start with the food as its is the area that most people put down. There was a huge range of food available and if its repetitive its only because you pick the same each time. Probably not great for people that want to have what they'd eat in England but then you aren't in England.....
The food is not piping hot but I hear thats normal in Bulgaria.
I will say that me and my partner both had holiday belly although we felt quite well. I would reccommed taking Immodium with you as I had to get our (Wonderful) rep to translate the drug information leaflet for me!
Oh yeah and the all inclusive alchohol was a great idea :-)Huge measures were the norm
The Hotel was spotlessly clean as the houskeeping was fantastic and cleaned even when we got up horribly late.
The reception and bar staff were lovely although they laughed at our horrible attempts at speaking Bulgarian.
We were a bit worried when we heard that there was an 'animation team' who would entertain around the pool and in the evening.Having said that there was a quiet pool for us boring types and the animation team were lovely (but appeared to be on some really great drugs - permanantly high!)
The location was quiet but that was what we wanted. When you want more activity in can be found in the main part of the albena resort.
All in all we had a great holiday at this hotel. We are going back to Bulgaria this year although further south this year for some variety - although we were seriously considering going back to the Ralitsa.

We enjoyed the food found there was something different everyday and you could ask for it to be cooked longer. There was plenty of fruit.
The hotel staff in the bar were a bit rude but they worked long hours. The cleaners were great though gave her a big tip when I left.
The entertainment team were really good as it rained most of the time we spent a lot of time doing activities during the day with them. The kids loved them the shows were ok but finished too early.
The kids club was rubbish aimed at the Germans and really young children.
The telly was all German as well only news English.
The kids want to go back next year

| said: We booked this holiday with First Choice in January. We received a call from them 4 days before we were due to go to say the hotel had been over booked and we would have to stay at the Vita Park. There was 10 of us all together and as First Choice would do nothing to help and it was such short notice we just had to go along with it.
When we got there we were booked in at the Ralitsa reception but taken to the Vita Park Villas. The bloke who took our suitcases was begging like mad for a tip, even asking for English money. It was around 4.30 in the morning and we just wanted to go to bed. The beds were so damp and wet that we had to also put blankets on to try and get warm.
The weather was as cold as being at home and the rooms were very damp.
We went for breakfast after a few hours sleep, we should of stayed in bed. There was German slop, uncooked eggs, strips of fat which should of been bacon. This hotel does not cater for the English tourists whatsoever. You get shoved around, people jumping in front of you all the time whether you are waiting for a drink or food. The food which was left over was reused over and over again.T here was even cold cucumber soup 1 day. You are allowed 1 visit to the a la carte. We thought well at least that will be a good meal. We had to wait ages for our food as all the Germans were served theres first. When the main course finally arrived (chicken kebab)It was raw chicken in a dish with water and topped with cheese. I had eaten some before I knew the chicken was raw and ended up with food poisoning. I was not the only 1 they were dropping like flies with it and 1 man actually collapsed in the dinner hall the next day with it. On the last day our son Daniel (who loves his food and will eat just about anything) sat at the table and said he could not wait to get home, it was the worst holiday he had ever been on. His Frankfurt for breakfast was cold and the fat strips were raw. The big guy that cooks the fat bacon wipes all his sweat off with his hands before putting the raw bacon on the grill.
All the entertainment was in German. The Abba show was o.k but they were only singing over Abba songs, that why it sounded o.k.
The cleaner did seem to work hard, ours was on every day including Sunday.
To top this hotel and complex off as we were waiting at reception to come home there was a mouse running round which finally went into the restaurant. If you are English reading this I would like to say this is not for us. The food, the pushing and shoving and being treat second best or ignored just for being English.
All in all the most exciting thing of all was packing to come home. I would not go back there if somebody paid me. It was a nightmare from start to finish. A waste of money and the worst holiday experience of all. We are not fussy but just wanted a pleasant holiday. First choice was terrible and we would never book with them again. All the people that arrived with us have signed a petition because the English tourists should not be sent to this hotel.
We have not finished with First Choice either. It was certainly the holiday from HELL.

| said: We found the cleanliness of the hotel first class,to our disappointment we found the majority of the staff unhelpful and found wanting, this may be due to the language barrier, but you could see they clearly understood our german counterparts.
The food and the distance to the food hall we had to negotiate was totally unacceptable, thou mainly catering for the Germans, the variety of food was sausages and more sausages.
If the british or other nationalities are to visit this hotel regular and frequent the establishment must consider other options in food stuff, entertainment, general awareness to peoples needs,if not, then ok keep it predominently German territory but stop encouraging U.K.folk to visit.
Im sure Bulgaria has wonderful sights and culture that need to be explored, but if this hotel continues to off-put visitors as it does then the Bulgarian tourists board needs to consider it's worth.

We found the food to be edible with plenty of choice. Ok it's geared for the Germans, but we always made a meal up of 2 meat and veg or salad.
The location was ideal, not too far from the beach but in a quiet corner for relaxation to be enjoyed.
The staff, bar one, were extremely polite and friendly in our experience.
Did not use entertainment as there were lots of bars and places to chill out but could hear the enjoyment going on.
We have travelled the world and found this hotel to be one of the nicest.
We did not encounter the Bulgarian belly at all!

| said: The hotel was very clean, the maids coming on a daily basis, the sheets were changed about twice a week, towels daily.
The room was very basic and like a chalet, the beds were single and very hard and uncomfortable. Their are actually two Ralitsa hotel's on the complex - the basic 3* where we stayed and a much posher 4* which looked more luxurious - this is for 'Balkan' holidaymakers - I think.
The food was awful and aimed for the German palate. (lots of hot dog sausages, pork dishes, sardines and very sweet cakes) I was ill for most of the holiday with a stomach upset. The food was often either undercooked and raw in the middle (ie chicken and pork) or overcooked and burnt.
When I complained to the hotel rep about the food I was told that the food wasn't raw but 'Organic' and refused to be told otherwise. Many other people were ill with stomach upsets, which was obvious when one visited the hotel's public toilets. We ended up eating out quite a lot. The A la Carte restaurant is a bit better but we were only allowed one visit per stay. We ate out quite a lot which I found annoying as we had paid for all inclusive.
The alcoholic drinks were locally produced and often had a strange taste - the brands we have in the UK were charged for. The soft drinks were good. The staff were generally helpful - some being better than others.
It was quite annoying when arriving and departing the way the staff grabbed at the luggage, carried it a few feet, demanded a tip - promptly disapeared and then another one would appear, take you to your room and demand another tip!
The location was about 10-15 minuites from the beach - at the top of a fairly steep hill - there was a free bus to the beach every 30 minuites. The beach was very nice, large, sandy and clean. The resort however was plagued by prostitutes at night.
Albena is a very expensive resort, especially when compared to other resorts in Bulgaria - often charging twice as much! Taxi drivers are also a nuisance - and very expensive. It is much cheaper to go to other places by bus. Bulgaria is a very poor country - the main towns around Albena (and Albena itself) often sell inferior copies of branded items including clothes and perfumes.
We visited Dobrich and Varna and found these to be almost relics of the communist era and not good for shopping or sightseeing, however Balchic was pleasant - especially the Palace.
The jeep safari was great fun for adults and children and one of the highlights of the holiday.
The entertainment was quite good for the children and they enjoyed the two pools - one large with plenty of music and entertainment and a smaller, quiter one.The animation team tried very hard to get people involved and worked hard.
Personally I would not visit this hotel again, but there were some people there who loved the hotel and the food.

The food was absolutely appalling, everything aimed at the German clients. I can’t imagine even the Germans eating this pigswill at home. All the family had several attacks of the “runs”. Even the chips were rubbish.
Can’t fault the staff, the holiday rep or the facilities, only that the entertainment was poor. The Germans made a mockery of the pool area towels on all the sun beds at the break of dawn. Lot of insects especially beetles and small flies.
Sewers blocked once while we were there causing a flood of brown stuff down the main road in front of the hotel. Not a nice smell. Give them their due they hosed the road down pretty quick.
All in all not to be recommended

that was until we came to the food the whole family were down with a stomach bug within a day of arriving I would rate the food here the worst I have ever had on any previous holiday,
we did find a very nice restaurant on our last evening on the beach wish we had gone there from day one....
we would advise anyone never to book all inclusive at this hotel it was our biggest mistake,

The Hotel is 10 mins from the centre.
The food in this hotel was the worst food I have ever tasted - its again aimed at the Germans and they enjoy frankfurters for breakfast so prepare for this every morning if you stay - evening meal was always veal! I lived on chips!
Bulgarian belly is a big thing and everyone we spoke to was suffering with it so take immodium!!!
Apart from the food, the hotel is lovely - but one last thing - the germans hog the pool area and even if you put your towel on the lounger at 7am. when you get there after breakfast your towel is on the floor and there is a german occupying your chair!

| said: I liked the food and ate well every meal. The cooked breakfast got a bit repetitive. The food is a lot greasier than I am used to here in the UK which upset my stomach a little, but that is my fault for eating badly not the hotels. The deserts are lovely.
The hotel is absolutely spotless even when it is full, the room was cleaned every morning and there was always a cleaner about until 11 at night.
The location of the hotel is great if you want one that is quiet and out of the way, but not if you want to be on the sea front (10-15 minutes walk or half-hourly free shuttle bus)
If you're polite and friendly to the staff you get the same back although the staff clearing the tables in the restaurant were a bit miserable.
What we saw of the entertainment was amusing.
The hotel is owned by a German company, the vast majority of the guests are German and the food is more geared to-wards their tastes, especially breakfast!
It still looked the cleanest and best looked after hotel from the outside and was well worth the money.

The food was horrible, cold and not appetising at all, we ate out most of the time, can't complain as cheap enough.
The staff round the pool where sometimes in your face when you just wanted to chill and sunbathe.
The Germans thought they owed a section of the pool, which annoyed me but got that sorted after a game of water polo.
I was glad it was only a week as also rained for 3 days, never again not here.

| said: We stayed at the Ralitsa for 2 weeks and I cannot fault the grounds and pool areas.
Our maid came in every day and our room was always clean with plenty of loo roll!!
I can’t say I was impressed with the all inclusive side of it though, the food was ok for a week but after that we both got Bulgarian belly! So we tended to eat out. Lot's of people in our hotel had bad tummy trouble including my husband who went through 2 packets of Imodium! So I advise you to take some with you.
It was a nice walk to the beach about 10mins but there is a free bus for guests at the Ralitsa.
The entertainment left a lot to be desired and we only went to one show and tended to go into Albena most evenings (it's mainly aimed at the Germans) which didn't go down to well with the English people. The Germans are very rude to the English and don't believe in queuing so go with an open mind and try to hold your tongue!

| said: We were moved to this hotel by Balkan 3 weeks before departure and were on first impressions suitably impressed with our accommodation.
We were put in huge villa like apartments with 2 large bedrooms and living areas with no less than 3 balconies the bathroom was spotless and water supply always hot and of high pressure -we later found that we were lucky with many other guests finding damp smelly rooms and no water!
Our maid was brilliant cleaning daily with towel changes every two days and linen 5 times in a fortnight she spent a good 30 minutes in our room(s) and was our star staff member.
All public areas were clean and well maintained with lovely gardens and borders and excellent swimming pool facilities, the animation team was geared up for German families however were very friendly.
The big let down was the food -the first week the buffet style meals were adequate with something edible for everyone. The second week as the hotel got busier the restaurants struggled to cope. The choices seemed to be variations on the night before and the food often cold or undercooked - on one meal time the kitchen brought out a tray of completely raw chicken breasts covered in a sauce -potentially a killer!
The bars were very limited on their all inclusive drinks with only a few options, and beer was annoyingly served in plastic beakers!
This hotel should go bed and breakfast and knock £70 off the tariff they are trying to hard to be all inclusive and it doesn’t work! However only paying £319 each we didn’t mind eating out.

| said: Three weeks prior to departure Balkan advised us that we had been moved to this hotel as our original hotel would not be open in time, all I can say is Boy did we score!
Both couples were given a 2 bedroom villa with separate sitting room, large shower room and separate toilet. We had a balcony from each of the bedrooms and one from the sitting room.
The Villas were spotlessly clean and our maid was fantastic and very meticulous. There is also a laundry service available and it was incredibly cheap to use.
The pools are beautiful and loungers are free but a small charge of 2 lev per day for the padded mats. The hotel grounds are kept spotless and we found all the facilities very well run and clean.
The main restaurant was fine and the standard of food was very good with an excellent choice which should have something for everyone, you can also ask the chef to cook your meat to taste ie well done or in my case cremated!
We tended to eat out most of the time for lunch and evening meals but this was not a reflection on the standard or choice of food in the hotel just personal choice.
The complex has many small pool bars and tavernas with a choice of snacks served throughout the day which could be used as an alternative to eating in the main restaurant.
We did not attend any of the hotel entertainment so cannot comment on it, but must say that every child we saw regardless of their nationality seemed to be having a ball the childrens team really do earn their money and activities are organised throughout the day, in my opinion it is an ideal place for families.
Nightlife is pretty low key however a few times we did end up in company at the pool bar till about 0130 and this was ideal as it was far enough away from the accomodation for noise not to carry.
Overall I would say that this is is a very well run family orientated complex and cannot find fault with this hotel in any way.

Albena resort is like a bad copy of Butlins it tries to cater for everyone but falls short, for a chilled night out go to the market find a little bar over looking the main drag and people watch for an hour.
Watching the horror on men’s faces as the prostitutes approach is priceless.
Overall a week in the sun for the same price as a weekend in Skeggy, not bad.

| said: This was my first visit to Bulgaria Ralitsa Hotel and my first time of being all-inclusive and my last time for both.
The hotel was clean and the reception staff obliging. I did not like having to walk 5 minutes up the road for breakfast, I feel a hotel should have the dining room within.
When I arrived many English people were ill with stomach bugs so I was very careful with what I chose to eat for my first evening meal. I woke up the next morning with a tummy bug. I decided not to eat anything but breakfast at the Ralitsa and then I only ate bread. You would have need to be there all day should you have wanted toast.(toaster not adequate). I spent money on meals which should not have been necessary but a least the food is cheap so the total amount spent was not great.
I have never been anywhere where the evening entertainment finishes at 9.30pm. I chose the Ralitsa because I thought as a single traveler there would be somewhere to spend my evenings. Myself and 4 other English people were put out of the lobby bar at 11pm one night to sit in the garden in the cold and finish our drinks, it was very cold at night. We did not stay for long even for the short period we were aware that our voices might carry to the surrounding rooms where children might be asleep.
Every one I spoke to at the Ralitsa felt like I did the food was disgusting the staff in bars and restaurants were rude. When I was leaving people who were staying another week were wishing they were going home. I couldn't wait to leave.
Why when most of the hotels are all-inclusive are there so many restaurants? Could it be because the food in the hotels is so disgusting.

The bar staff at the snack bar were excellent as were the animation team but the reception and restaurant staff were awful.
Everyone we spoke to were ill but looking back at reports from earlier in the year the food then was good maybe as the season went on the hygiene got worse.
Very disappointed as such a lovely country but had to spend most of our money on food.
Never go there again not worth the money could have paid to go self catering.

This is a 3 Star hotel in Bulgaria. What you get is 3 Star accommodation, food and staff - nothing more, nothing less. It caters more for Germans so there is a German influence in the entertainment and food.
The Hotel is clean, spacious and well laid out. Basic, pleasant rooms with a balcony, TV and bathroom. It was a little cramped with the cot in but not too bad.
The food is plentiful and varied, there are around 6 main choices plus soup, cold meats, cheeses, vegetables, salads, breads, fruit, cereals and cakes. It is German/ Bulgarian orientated so lots of fried or stewed meats in sauces, various sausages and non English cheeses and cold meats. Chips are always available. You do not get English style sausage, egg and chips, pie and mash or fish and chips. Any open minded holiday maker should have no problem finding something to suit them.
There are several bars, rarely crowded, serving cold lager, wine and a variety of other drinks. Again there should be something suitable for most people.
There are two freeform pools with adequate space and sun loungers, it did get a little crowded but there was always a space. The pools were clean and well laid out.
Staff were generally fine, they do have a brusquness that, in my experience, is more to do with culture than attitude.
Entertainment was unsophisticated but plentiful.
All things considered the Ralitsa Hotel delivered what you might expect from a 3 Star, in some areas it it exceeded it's rating.

| said: Well what can I say!! First time all inclusive and maybe the last, virtually forced to eat out as the food was almost inedible, undercooked, cold and a mish mash of everything put together.
Snack bar food was left out for all the flys and wasps to enjoy!!! So called kebabs not cooked, cold chips and pizza.
Breakfast= Undercooked eggs, "bacon" was just fat and dont know where the baked beans came from!!! Ended up cooking our own bacon and eggs. Plenty of different breads but they need to do something about getting proper toasters!!! those who have been will no what I mean.
Chefs very unproffesional and no hygiene in sight when cooking, one was seen with sweat dripping of his head whilst cooking!! Dread to think what goes on in the kitchen!! Disgusting!!.
Lunch and evening meals just as bad, no consideration for us Brits!!9 people out of our 10 were ill for most of the fortnight and one still is and undergoing tests for food poisoning at present.
Spent a fortune a Pharmacy!!
Germans very rude and ignorant. One was seen to sneeze over food in Lobby Bar.
Pool areas very nice and whole complex very very clean, cant fault cleanliness, if the food and staff were as good then it would be a very nice place to be.
Bar staff sometimes very rude, coffee machines either switched off or half empty, drinks very limited unless you want to pay of course. The idea of going all inclusive is so you dont have to go off the complex to pay but we had to to get decent meal in town, Poco Locos very good and Tropical Bar.
Very lacking in entertainment, although the animations team work hard, for such a large complex there should be a choice of entertainment in the evenings and not have to be ushered into a school hall for assembly!!!

| said: We stayed in the Ralitsa for 2 weeks on an All Inclusive Basis.
The Cleanliness of the hotel was excellent, there were cleaners cleaning 24/7 although if you take a towel to the beach as we did in the first week for the baby they won't replace it with a new one until the second week.
The Food
Well were do I start, the breakfasts were cold, German orinatated, the eggs were undercooked, and the bacon was just fat! We had to live of Toast for 2 weeks!
Lunch - You could eat in either the restaurant or the snack bar for lunch if you could find anything edible. There was always chips although by the second week they were being brought out burnt to a crisp! They had salad on display in the snack bar but it was covered by Wasps and Flies!
Tea - We managed to find something to eat for Tea most nights, there was a meat stand which offered a different roast each night although we didn't attempt the pork which was still red raw!
We had to visit the pharmacy and get immodium as me and my partner both got food poisioning (As did all the English people I spoke to). My little boy who was only 12 months was constantly having runny nappies so Diarolite came in handy to.
The location of the hotel is good, you are far enough away for the peace and quiet if you have children at night but its only a 10 minutes walk to the centre were you can find gift shops, and painters (if you want a painting done you can get them done here they are excellent quality and cheap about 50 quid for 3 people). There was also a train that takes you into Town that costs about 50p for adults and kids or a free shuttle bus that takes you to the beach.
The Hotel Bar Staff were ignorant and catered more to the Germans! On our arrival we asked at the lobby bar for food were we got laughed at and told to go over to the other snack bar as they didn't do food. Turns out they did do food!! On our last night we went to get a final drink at 10.55 (the bar shuts at 11.00) and were told that they weren't serving free drinks anymore, I asked if I could just get a soft drink to which I got completely ignored (however the night before when the Germans were leaving the lobby bar stayed open till 3am serving free drinks)!!!
The reception staff seemed to help if they could and the cleaning staff were very friendly except 1! They love the children and everytime I went anywhere with my baby they stopped to give a hug or kiss to him.
The Entertainment Team were fantastic. They put on shows 6 nights out of 7 which were both for adults and children. The Abba Show is well worth a watch. They also put entertainment on during the day such as darts, volleyball, football, water gymnastics, french bowls etc, plenty to do.
I wouldn't visit this hotel again as I find Albena a very German resort and I would like to try the other resorts, plus I don't think I would go all inclusive again in Bulgeria as the standards of food arn't like ours and the restaurants are very cheap to eat out at as well.

| said: Although the hotel itself was nice, the accommodation more than adequate, I would not recommend this hotel to anybody. The food was appalling, it was often undercooked, reheated from previous meals, left to go cold before being placed on the servery and perhaps worst of all we saw sweat dripping from a chef into the scrambled egg and flies and wasps on the food in the outside bars.
Nine out of the ten in our party suffered chronic stomach pains/illnesses (one still undergoing tests for food poisoning) lasting between 4 days and the entire holiday (14 days).
Every single person we spoke to reported the same!!!
We found the staff to be rude (except the cleaning staff)and mostly unhelpful, very often we were greeted with a shrug(of indifference?).
The entertainment was probably OK for families with youngish children, but we found it a bit tedious (and early finishing - everything seems to come to a stop at 11 pm dead). We went to one show and were herded into a room and made to sit in rows like a school assembly, so even though the entertainment staff worked hard it was not the most conducive atmosphere in which to enjoy yourself.
One last comment, the Bulgarian Fiesta was a very expensive travesty. £18 a head (so £180 for our party) to travel five or so miles to eat cold food and watch the same entertainment staff that could be seen for free in the hotel!!

| said: We stayed in the Ralitsa Hotel in Albena for a week - all inclusive - in August 2004. It was the first time I'd ever gone on an all inclusive holiday and i felt it was well worth it.
The variation of food in each sitting was good but they often repeated the same meals on other days and by the end of the week I was bored of it.
The hotel is about a 10 minute walk from the market street and the beach.
The hotel was very clean, rooms are cleaned on a daily basis and clean towels are given every day. I have to say that I did find some of the bar staff a little less than friendly.
Easily the best thing about the Ralitsa Hotel is the Animations Team. They were a group of extremely friendly people who kept us entertained through our whole holiday. Their Abba show was fantastic and well worth watching.
I would definately recommend visiting this hotel. We had a very enjoyable holiday.

The pool is a huge, free form effort, but sunbeds can be in short supply by midday; there is also a small indoor pool. Both pools have lifeguards in attendance at all times.
As well as the main restaurant, there are 2 snack bars, and an a la carte (1 visit per holiday included). There are 2 pool bars, a lobby bar and a beer garden (very pleasant and very popular). The resort's noddy train stops outside reception, and there is a free shuttle bus to the beach every half hour.
The in house animation team work very hard, and their evening shows are always well attended, and quite good.
An excellent hotel, very child friendly, and thoroughly recommended.

the food was extremely poor and despite there being a variety of dishes to choose from they all seemed to taste the same. children of 7 and 11 found it exceptionally difficult.

| said: This holiday was my first to Bulgaria and my first staying at the Ralitsa, I must say I will never go again or encourage anyone to go!! I have never stayed in such a poorly run hotel!
The food was appalling and we were lucky not to get any stomach bugs. It was under cooked, cold and unidentifiable, you had no idea what you were eating! We ate out most days and if we did have to eat in the hotel we mainly ate bread.
The entertainment was pointless and was not at all funny!
The children’s area which consisted of an unsupervised park (swings, slide and climbing frame) was highly dangerous. The ground was covered in sand which at one point a child threw sand at my boyfriend’s nephew which ended up in his eyes, there was no first aider in the hotel and staff were not at all helpful in getting him to a hospital, we were given an eyebath and that was all!!! Luckily his sight was ok but he had to be taken to an English hospital the next day when we returned home. The aftermath of this night resulted in the police being called as the child’s mother who had thrown sand at my boyfriend’s nephew decided to hit my boyfriend’s ten year old brother. The police were very unhelpful as were the staff we reported the incident to!!
My boyfriend and I also had money stolen from our room, and we had people who were not maids in our room doing repairs without our knowledge. The police again were called for this.
The pools were very nice and were cleaned often.
The hotel was very clean and it was well situated.
I found this hotel to be German orientated, English tourists were based on the ground floor (basement) of the hotel or in another hotel block, the food was very German and the staff did not value the British tourists.
We stayed at this hotel during Euro 2004 and all games were except England matches were played and the opening hours of the bar were extended when Germany were playing.
We felt this hotel did not make us welcome as a family and as tourists, their priorities were else where.
If we could have managed to get an early flight home we would have gone the day after we arrived.

| said: We went on holiday in June 2004 to Ralitsa and had an excellent time, we are hoping to return to this hotel sometime next year because it was so good!
The food was basic but it wasn't bad and it WASN'T undercooked!
The staff at the hotel were so friendly, we made friends with many of the workers and Tom from Cardiff too, a big up to Dimitar the barman!!- he's gr8.
The entertainment is good expecially the Abba night.
The hotel isn't very far from the main street, there's a noddy train that comes every 20 minutes to take you there and a courtesy bus every 30 minutes for the beach.
Make an effort to go here its ace!!

| said: In June 2004 I stayed at the Hotel Ralitsa for a week on an All Inclusive board basis. It was my first time in Bulgaria and overall it was a very cheap and rather pleasent holiday. Although the reception staff were most ignorant and completly unhelpful I believed the Animation team to be most excellent and very entertaining. The food was also very good as there was plenty of variety and was the standard of food in which you would find in a Spanish hotel. The hotel location was most convinient as it was of walking distance to the beach and resort centre, also the free bus to the beach running every half an hour was a very much appreciated bonus!. The hotel was immaculate in terms of cleanliness as i did not see one piece of litter around the hotel during my stay!. Me and my family are yet deciding on whether to return in September!.

| said: Excellent hotel for families, plenty to keep the children amused. Staff friendly and helpful and everywhere always kept very clean. Lots of choice in the restaurants, even the awkward kids could find something to eat! A short walk into the resort that even our 3 and 4 year olds could manage. Would definately recommend this hotel!

| said: we have just come back from an amazing week at the ralitsa hotel the cleanliness was very good and the grounds were well kept the staff are very friendly but speak very basic english the food is of a continental nature more catered for the germans and french than the english but you could allways find something good to eat the pool is very cold and you struggled to find a sun bed round the main pool but there is a good sized second pool were you could get a sun bed easily
the market was a ten minute walk away and the beach is about 15 minutes away there were shows every night except sundays round the pool and entertainment in general was good but it took forever for the announcements to be over because they did them in three languages

| said: The Ralistsa was a very nice hotel. It was the first time we had visited Bulgaria. The following things shocked us :
We lost our child for about 12 hours, the hotel reception staff and Albena police were not the least bit interested (afterall there are lots of children uncared for children in Bulgaria) I went to the police station to report my Son missing and they were more interested in beating up two Bulgarain young men than trying to find my missing child.
None of the Police spoke any English.
I asked repeatively the receptionist to help me find my child, thet didn't want to know.
The swimming pools look very nice, however they are freezing cold, not heated at all, not even the indoor pool.

| said: We stayed in the Hotel Ralitsa on 6th May 2004 for 14 days all Inclusive a group of 44 of us.
The Hotel Room we had was very Damp the hotel only opened beginning of May we were told.
The Entertainment Room was like a Shed with Plastic Picnic Tables and Plastic Chairs not enough room for the amount of people staying at the Hotel but the last few days we were there a new Room and Reception Area opened but still not enough seating.
Prositutes patrol every evening outside the Hotel from 5.30p.m and accost any Man on is own.
The Food was very mixed up and not very well cooked. There was no heating in our Bedrooms or the entertainment Room it was Freezing. The Pool area was very nice but in good weather you had a job to find a space for your Deck Chair. I would no way go back to this Hotel

| said: We stayed at the hotel Ralitsa in september 2003.
Although the hotel is towards the rear of Albena it is very easy to get around the resort as there is a free shuttle bus and a mini train right outside the hotel.
The Ralitsa was clean and the rooms were good for the
price we paid. The staff were all very friendly except in the resturant where they always seemed to be in a hurry to clear your table.
The food was buffet style and we got the impression what was left over was then served up for the following meal.
My son, myself and many other guests came down with severe stomach bugs. My son had to recieve medical treatment at the local clinic.
The maid service was excellent and we gave them a good tip at the end of our stay.
The entertainment team were out of this world. They put on some excellent and very funny shows with very limited resources.
The weather became very cold at night so if you go in september take warm clothes for the night time.
The pool area was good, plenty of sunbeds and daytime entertainment provided by the team again.
The pool was freezing so be prepaired when you dive in.
The guests were mainly german with a few dutch and belgians also.
This hotel caters more for the german guests than the british, but then there were a lot more of them staying here.
Overall this was a good hotel and the only reason we would not go back to the Ralitsa is because it's all inclusive and we felt to tied to the hotel. For those who enjoy all inclusive give the Ralitsa a try.
Nearly forgot about the sports. This was very well organised by the team and there is a variety of sports to enjoy.
