just come back weather really hot enjoyed every minute of holiday.
staff always on the go never see any of them skiving,
hotel really nice and clean you see staff with clothes in hand all the time cleaning everything.
the food was basic to start with not much choice for english people but once explained the problem to restaurant manager everything was sorted got meals prepared for us everynight.
hotel staff very friendly and polite no hassle from them always smiles from them. shops in the hotel near fitness centre all friendly to its worth going in and looking and having a cup of tea with them.
entertainment would not know about as every night went to top pool bar where alll the staff there are so friendly got on well with them all samir and kamir plus alaa are the best ones as you could always have a laugh with these, ask samir for his party tricks showed him some too.
overall would recommend this hotel to anyone we are booking back up for next year.small tips to the staff are welcome as once you tip them you find that they look after you for the rest of the holiday, they dont ask you for the tips but i found that tipping them made my holiday a lot better.

The hotel is located about 15 minutes drive away from Naama Bay centre and is the sister hotel to the Sonesta Beach Resort which is baout 5 minutes walk over the dual carriageway and from where you access the beach.

The hotel is very very clean and the housekeeper cleans your room and changes towels and bedding daily. The filters on the pools are also cleaned hourly and there always seems to be someone mopping up something somewhere.

The food was nicely presented and there is something for everyone..but it is much of a muchness so to speak. One of the bars did a BBQ every night with the usual chicken, burgers, salad, chips etc. Water was supplied by way for tokens from reception that you exchanged for 1.5 litre bottles in the restaurant. This is much needed as it is so hot over there. The other local drinks are in plentiful supply for those on AI. Thing is..I was not bothered about drinking anything other than water as it was sooo hot.

The location is not brilliant but I think it depends what you want. It suited me down to the ground, as I said before it is a short bus ride away from Naama bay centre. We were a group of 22 divers and we were picked up daily by the dive company anyway and driven to whichever jetty we were leaving from.

The staff were fine, always trying to please and not hassling you constantly for tips like in some hotels. If you gave any of them a tip, that was it..he looked after you for the rest of the holiday. As ever though, some staff work harder than others and some staff were more approachable than others. At the end of the day, they work long hours for buttons.

Don't really know much about the entertainment as I was hardly ever in the hotel but i do know there was a kids club and there always seemed to be lots of activities for kids as well as the usual disco at night for the little ones.

There are 3 main bars, 2 big pools, a jacuzzi, a few shops, a cash machine, a health club, computer access, pool table, a nice set of big water slides and it has its own diving school ( but we did not use it we went with Emporer Divers.)

On the whole I would stay there again.

Just returned from a week at Sonesta Club. We had a very hot week with temp 42 degrees c. Hotel resort was very nice especially around the pools.

We soon learnt that the sun loungers were being reserved by the pool attendant - who was just generating tips - which is handy if you want a lie-in just tip him and he'll get you a sun bed!

Rooms are basic but cleaned daily with change of towels and bedding, air con in our room was very noisy and not very effective. Channel 8 on the TV was showing films each evening.

We took plenty of one dollar bills to use as tips and tipped often - this was ensure that we got regular drink top ups in the restaurant and the staff remember you.
Food was plentiful and varied and bottled water was readily available for free.

This is a well organised resort hotel. The hotel have their own cars and employ drivers who provide a taxi service and charge double the rates of the local official taxi's who are not allowed inside the gates of the hotel.

The hotel taxi's are also very keen to take you sight seeing but make sure you agree a price first.

Women are constantly hassled by Egyptian men particularly in Naama Bay and The old market.

We arrived at about 10pm and found check in to be very quick and easy. We were given 2 downstairs rooms with ajoining doors just a 100 yards away from reception, and only 50 yards from the bar and swimming pool. On arrival at the room, we found that there were only 2 beds and 2 sets of towels, for the 3 of us. I went straight back to reception and within 5 minutes there was a 3rd bed and another set of towels for us. We went straight to the bar as all inc was due to finish at 11pm we thought, but luckily for us it went on till midnight. We missed evening meal, but there were snacks consisting of pizza, hot chicken sandwiches and cheese and salad sandwiches, on the terrace bar, and very tasty they were too.
Breakfast consisted of all the usual fruits, cereal, boiled eggs, sausages, breads and jams, honey etc, pancakes with syrup, and omlettes, done to your own taste by the ever smiling, singing chef. The staff, in the whole hotel were brilliant, and couldn't do more for you.
Dinner and evening meal were pretty much the same, usually beef , chicken, fish, along with the usual salads, pasta, cheese and hams, etc, followed by a choice of at least 10-12 deserts. The food was always very nicely presented, and always warm. Drinks were brought to your tabe for you and replenished without having to ask.
Vouchers for bottles of water were given to you on arrval at reception, and you gave 2 vouchers for each 2 litre bottle of schweppes still water, but we were given at least 24 vouchers.
There were 2 decent size swimming pools, one with 2 slides, and a childrens pool. The deepest swimming pool was only just over 5ft deep so it is very child friendly, and there is plenty of room also.
Also at reception at arrival, you were given a towel card for each person, and at 8am towels were available by the swimming pool each morning. You could take them back each evening if you wanted and get your cards back then get clean towels next morning, but we tended to keep hold of ours for a few days at a time, as you had to be up reasonably early if you wanted the sunbeds. eg 7-45- 8am.
The beach was about 15 mins walk away on the opposite side of the dual carriageway, via the Sonesta Beach Resort Hotel, but there are never any sunbeds left by the time you get there. You can use the TINY bar near the beach there, but it only serves water coke and orange,NO BEER or any other alcohol, and the queues can get quite long. You can also get snacks there also, but it was,nt usually worth bothering with, and make note, the bar and snacks are only available between 12noon and 4pm.
The Sonesta Club must be one of the cleanest hotels i've stayed at, our rooms were cleaned every day to a high standard, by a friendly man who we tipped on a few occasions, and he was genuinely very grateful. The staff in avery part of the hotel were extremely friendly and obliging and you couldn't fault any of them.
Entertainment was pretty much every evening with the same belly dancer at least 4 times a week, and it only lasted about 45mins, so people were just taliking and playing cards. Internet was available in reception but was pretty costly, an newspapers were available the following evening but they were getting on for 4 pound.
On the whole we thoroughly enjoyed out 2 weeks here and i would certainly return again sometime in the future

The Sonesta club hotel Sharm El Sheikh is absolutely brilliant can't fault it in any way.

Don't listen to the other reviews who say the entertainment is rubbish because the entertainment was fabulous- parrot shows magicians etc.

My little boy realy enjoyed the pool and the water- slides.

The food was excellent had Egyptian foods and English cuisine.

Will definitely visit this hotel again. 11/10 (that good!):-)

Stayed at this hotel June 2007 and had a great holiday. Hotel was definately 4*. Room was spacious and immaculately clean, sheets and towels changed very day. Food was buffet style with different theme each day, they will cook you a fresh omelette for breakfast if required.
Hotel was only 10 mins from airport, hence some aircraft noise but not too much. On busy road but not difficult to cross if going to Sonesta Beach.
Staff were very helpful and friendly. Bags were delivered to room within 10 mins of arriving. I was able to keep room on, on the day of departure for £10.
Only saw childrens entertainment a couple of times as night, during day they had water gym for all.
Would visit this hotel again. Great value for money.

The brochure stated that there were 3 restaurants the main buffet restaurant, terrace restaurant & snack bar.

There were no terrace restaurant & snacks at the snack bar you had to pay for, even though we were all inclusive. Buffet restaurant food was of good quality but quite samey.

There was very limited entertainment, which again you had to pay for even though we were all inclusive. Brochure also stated could use all facilities at sonesta beach hotel, as an all inlusive guest, but this only included soft drinks & limited snacks at the beach bar.

If you wanted a sunbed at Sonesta Club had to be up before 9:00am, however were plenty available at Sonesta beach. 24 hour reception & buffet restaurant staff excellent. Fab security. hotel was in good location and free minibus for thomson guests to sonesta beach hotel & Naama bay.

Rooms cleaned every day although cleaner will find a reason to come back when you are back in your room to expect a tip every day!!!

Health spa on site which is reasonably priced, and well equipped.

We stayed at the Sonesta Club from 10 - 24 May 2007, and can't wait to go back!!! We arrived just before dinner but decided to go into town to eat the first night. Check-in was simple, hand over passports given keys to room, safe key, towel cards and water vouchers.

Luggage was brought to our room 5 Min's after we got in. The hotel is spotless, rooms cleaned everyday, and our cleaner had a lot to put up with, couldn't fault it at all!!

The food is a bit samey, breakfast has a selection of cereals, salad, hot food and danish pastries, lunch and dinner was salad, cooked meat rolls, pasta, hot food including local meat dishes and a wide selection of deserts.

The hotel is located in a fab place. You can walk across the road top the Sonesta Beach and through to the beach approx 10 min walk, and a taxi trip to Naama Bay, do not pay more than LE25! The staff are great and can't do enough to help, one of the children broke the flush on the toilet 10 Min's later it was fixed!

No bad comments about the staff at all! Entertainment evenings were put on we went to a Bedouin evening were we ate local food and drinks and a shisha pipe, after we had the spinning man, belly dancers and camels there which kept everyone happy!

Music is played by the pool all day long. The pool is busy but if you put a towel on the sunbed by 8.30am you'll be fine. 3 pools there, a baby pool a pool with waterslides and a pool which has a volleyball net. We're already looking to book again for the end of the year!

We arrived late at night and were too late for breakfast the next day.

Staff were helpful and brought breakfast to our table. They even gave us a takeaway for our teenage son who was still asleep!

The pool area was small and crowded. Many people put sun lounger cushions or just towels on the grassy areas but these lacked shade. You need to get up early, by around 7.15 to ensure a sunbed and shade.

Good value and tasty snacks at the bar. It's about 400 metres away from Sonesta Beach across a busy road but there is a shuttle bus.The pools at the Sonesta beach seemed quieter but we didn't use the beach. Instead we went to the beach near the Red Sea Diving college-easy to get sunbeds all day for a small fee and good to be in the cente of town. Lovely walk along prom from Sonesta Beach-preferable to mad cab drivers.

Fantastic day trip to Luxor-some people already had towels down on the sunbeds as we were leaving at 5am!

The hotel was very clean but needed updating in certain areas. The bar staff were so friendly but always pay for everthing as you go, they get mixed up!!

If you tip the towel man he will keep your favourite sun bed for you. Hotel doctor very good and not too expensive.

Do not use the Diving school at the Sonesta Hotel not very good, loads more to choose from in Naama Bay.
There was no evening entertainment at all even the bar was quiet at night so it closed early.

Breakfast was good but after a few days we got sick of eggs. Food at the bar was ok and not expensive.

We both had massage in health club it was lovely, worth a visit.

This is the best holiday that me and my family have ever been on! As soon as we got home the next day we book a holiday to go back to Sonesta Club in August 06!

We were a bit unsure to go to Egypt after the bomb in sharm but we are glad we did go! The security is excellent!

Ok onto the hotel! Everything was so clean and tidy in the hotel the people were lovely the bar staff and the restaurant staff especially!

Inside the hotel there are are 4 shops and a hairdressers and and a tattoo shop! in the shops they are fixed prices.

The pool excellent! you get your own towels but I would suggest to take your own as well! We made a mistake of not taking our own! There is also a health club inside the hotel.

We were on the second floor and and we were facing the side of the health club and you could see mountains! The room was very basic two single beds pushed together "double" and a single bed in a arch way effect. Beds were a bit solid like but you get that anywhere! In your room was a mini fridge t.v free of charge huge wardrobe! bathroom- shower and toilet, and sink within the bedroom area hairdryer too. Bathroom could do with a make over, air con in you room very very good! and out onto a small balcony!

Restaurant has very nice food, buffet style every night different theme.

Kids club also.

Tried the Sonesta beach a few times beach small but good have to get up early to get a good place. 10min walk from Namm. Cars are mad only two lanes but when it come to the locals its 3 lanes! Taxi ride is a must do its mad! They drive so fast! make sure you put your seat belts on! oh no there is none!

Buy bottled water and take lots of imodioum with you I think you will be needing it in that weather.

Would recommend Sonesta Club! A place you must visit.

Our first impressions of this hotel were "fantastic" we arrived on boxing day and the effort the hotel had made to decorate the place was great.

Our rooms were on the second floor. They were very roomy, plenty of cupboard space and somewhere to sit if you wanted to. The balcony looked out over the Sinai mountains.

The food was the usual buffet style. It wasnt very hot but I think that is quite common. Our buffet meal on New Years Eve was out of this world. I didnt see much evidence of entertainment during the day or evening but this isnt really our sort of thing anyway.

It was mainly full of Italian people. Everywhere was kept clean and tidy. There were a few tourist shops in the hotel. Most things here were at fixed prices. The only thing I would say is you are about 10 minutes from the beach and about another 10 minutes from the heart of Naama Bay.

Stayed in the sonesta club in October. On first impressions we thought it was fantastic, nicely decorated, clean and well presented gardens around the pool area. The room was clean with air conditioning and a balcony. The rooms were cleaned daily.

We went to the beach everyday and were given fresh towels daily, so no need to bring any. Our hotel had a shared private beach with the sonesta beach club. You had to cross a busy road, walk through the beach club to get to the beach (about a 10 minute walk, our exercise for the day!!)

All the hotels along the beach had there own private beach, you could tell if you were an outsider as each hotel had different colour towels. Our beach was by far the smallest and most crowded as it was accommodating two hotels so we just walked along the beach until we found a hotel with the same colour towels as us (the Marriott) and sunbathed there all week which was really nice.

There were restaurants all along the beach and nowhere was too crowded though we were told in the height of the season it’s packed.

In the evenings we would sometimes get a cab into naama bay (otherwise its about a 20 min walk) you had to barta with the cab drivers which we quite enjoyed, if you don't barta they will rip you off, so all I would say is if you don't like bartering, 20 min walks or sitting in a cab driven like a maniac (and there are no seatbelts!) Then this isn't the hotel for you.

We used the hotel as a base really, the buffet breakfast was the strangest I'd ever seen, (it caters for mainly Italians,) but lots of choice, not a sausage in sight!!

The staff were nice enough and security was excellent, all hotels have 24hr security and the resort has police visible everywhere, apparently there is only 1% crime rate in Egypt.

Drinks seemed more expensive at the hotel and I didn't find the bar staff friendly, you felt they were talking about you while you were standing there, one time we asked for two glasses of white wine and were given to plastic half pint glasses, when I dared to complain I was looked at like I was stupid, so going town for a drink everyone’s much friendlier. All the other staff were great though.

Anyway the long and the short of it is we loved the resort, the hotel was nice enough but by the end of the week we were a bit fed up with the walk to and from the beach everyday and again at night, so I would recommend the novotel, the Marriott, or the Hilton as they are right on the beach and near the centre of town, I will defiantly be going back, and I'm fussy so it must be good!!!!!

I recently returned from an amazing 2 weeks in Sharm el Sheik. Sonesta Club Hotel was a great place to stay with regards to it's location, cleanliness, quiet rooms, friendly staff etc. I would return to the hotel as it was easy to be there. They did have entertainment throughout the day and night, mainly aimed at the overiding number of Italians who were staying there. As I was mostly diving in the days I cannot comment on how this affected the pool area.
It is worth considering their main customer focus when booking this hotel, if you intend to sit about all day it may become too much.
All in all a perfectly pleasant base.

My family and i have just returned from a two week holiday in Sharm El Sheikh. We stayed at the Sonesta Club Hotel. We found the staff extremely friendly and helpful. The hotel was well run and we all found it to be of a good standard.

We stayed on a bed and breakfast basis and found the selecdtion of food to be acceptable.

As the pound is strong against the Egyotian pound, we foung it very cheap to travel to Naama bay which is where all the restaurants and baars are althouugh from 1800 hours the hotel provides a shuttle bus to the area for 50 pence per person.

The only critisism i have is that i booked this hotel for the kids club but was very dissapointed to find out when there that all the entertainment was in Italian which made it redundant for the kids.

I would not recommend this hotel for the above reason as it was frustrating that we could not enjoy the entertain, ent by day or night.

On the plus side we found Sharm to be a great place for guaranted sun and good diving.

Wanting a relaxing and undemanding one week holiday with guarateed sun, we returned to this hotel for a second time.

The hotel is the other side of the main road from the beach, and although there is a regular shuttle to the beach at the Sonesta Beach Resort (and it is only a 5 minute walk) this makes the hotel generally a little cheaper than those on the other side of the road. Obviously for some, this is an important consideration.

The snorkelling from the beach at at the Sonesta Beach is excellent

We chose the hotel because it had a gym. The Sonesta Beach claims to have one, but this is just a reference to the one at the Sonesta Club. The gym is quite well equipped, air conditioned and usually empty. The health club also has two jacuzzis, a steam room and sauna. A charge is made for the use of the health club - about £50 for a couple for a week.

One of our main reasons for returning was the hotel staff. We found them friendly and helpful without being obsequious or over attentive.

We found the lack of other Brits a positive advantage. It is mucy easier to tune out of other people's conversations and the poolside banter of travel reps when it is in a foregn language. I wouldn't recommend the hotel for a non italian speaking single person wanting company

The entertainment is mostly in italian, but it is not really essential to speak the language to enjoy much of it - such as aquarobics, salsa classes, volleyball etc. These activities are accompanied by music, but are interspersed with long periods without.

There is a huge range of food available at breakfast including a wiode variety of pastries and bread, fresh yoghurt, cereal, fruit, salad, cheese, eggs cooked to order, sausages, pancakes, French toast, falafel, etc. therwise the hotel food, is of good quality, but not particularly exciting. We ate almost every night at Tam Tam's an excellent Egyptian restaurant attached to the Ghazala Hotel - about a 20 minute walk away.

| Del All Sonnesta Club Resort Hotel - Sharm El Sheikh
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hi,

My Wife, 2 children (7&10) and I have just spent 7 nights at the Sonnesta Club Resort (SCR). It is a reasonably large hotel, currently (Feb 04) on the edge of Sharm El Sheikh It is a £1GBP day time and £1.50GBP taxi ride from the centre of Ne’ama Bay (Approx 30 mins walk) and about £2 from Old Sharm.

The hotel has no beach of it’s own, but you have free access to the Sonnesta Beach Resort’s (SBR) beach. There is a free bus every half hour from the SCR. This section of beach is about the most crowded section on the whole beach, so I would advice going a bit further along and using one of the less crowded sections of beach.

The hotel has all round generally good facilities with nice sized pools. There seemed to be just enough room around the pool, but I’m not exactly sure how full the hotel was. I guess it may get a little crowded when it is full.

We were B&B, there was a good large selection of food for breakfast. The majority of guests seemed to All-in or Half-Board. We ate lunch there on a couple of occasions and it was ‘OK!’ However from what we saw I would not really recommend AI or HB at this hotel. (Not that it is our thing anyway, but just a thought for those who may consider it).

Drinks at the hotel bar/pool were relatively expensive (more difference from local bars than you would usually expect, but I suppose being a fair distance from these bars allows them to push up the prices for those who too tired/lazy to go elsewhere), and they had a ‘nice little habit’ of giving you a bill every time you order anything to ensure maximum tipping from rounding up. it does get tiresome, I find normally you get to run a tab and pay when you leave the bar/pool.

We were the only British family in the hotel. Which is not a problem in itself, but we occasionally like to have a chat at the bar with people, to get food/trip tips and suchlike. The entertainment at the hotel is all Italian (day, by the pool, and night), who are the majority nationality followed by Russians, Germans and Dutch.

Nothing specifically bad to report about the hotel, just wouldn't recommend it to anyone. Rooms, good size well equipped, were made up everyday and clean, but the sheets were not changed all week.

If anyone has any specific questions please feel free to ask.

Best regards.
