me and my family stopped in this hotel in september of this year.i could not believe how hot the rooms were even with a fan that we purchased form reception that hardly worked. the hotel staff were extremely rude after we found an ants nest in our room. we knew that we may come across some unwanted guests but an ants infestation we did not expect. we were on the ground floor which only catered for 2 bed rooms. the ants were coming out of the wall sockts that wer hanging off onto the bed and they were swarmed evereywhere. i have never seem ants in this way beofre. the rooms were filthy and not a 3 star that i expect. our neighbours told us that the couple the prevoius week had also had the same problem and that they were told get used to it as its part of the island. our room has been sprayed with insecticide spray for a week which i found applaing.the reception staff were very rude to the thomas cook staff who did their best to move us which eventualy we did but this was in the german old block which hadn't been clenaed for weeks and dirty and run down, there was no other choice as all the other rooms were booked. the room did not get cleaned once and we had to ask for clean towles as well. the reps were excellent and the entertaimne team worked very hard to keep the children happy. but the the cleanliness of this hotel was awfull. we even seen a report form the reps complaining about how rude the hotle staff were to us and their approach was on this report that all ground floor aprtamnts have ants. i have sent this report of the thomas cook pending their investiagtion. the location was good and the food from the takeaway bar was ok if you like pizza and chips.

We arrived at the Oasis Dunas in the early hours of Sunday morning but were dealt with very efficiently by the reception and were soon in our apartment.

We had been allocated a ground floor 2 bedroomed apartment which was clean and very spacious. The apartment was cleaned every other day and fresh towels given. We did see a few ants but not enough to complain about.

The pool area is very big and has more than enough sun beds so no need to reserve them - the pools are saltwater though.

There are 2 pubs and a pizza take-away within the grounds. The entertainment team provide stuff for older kids every day (killer pool, football, etc) but our youngest two (5 & 4) were more than happy with the pool, although there is a creche on site. Entertainment was on every evening - usually starting with Bingo then a show. We went out every night into the resort so didn't see the shows but the entertainment team work very hard so I would imagine they were entertaining.

The hotel is a 5 minute walk from the resort centre but there are taxi's if you need them.

Only thing, if you have a late flight try to get a late check out. The shower rooms are not the best especially if you are the last to use them!

When we stayed at the Oasis Dunas we found everything to be what we hoped it would be,our room was cleaned 4 times a week, the pool side had lots of spare beds, the staff where friendly,if you say hola to them they will always answer with a smile, yes the pool was cold but thats what you need after sitting in the mid-day sun,and it only takes 1 min to get use to it.We enjoyed the night time entertainment the reps put in a lot of hard work and are very energenitic.the bar staff where very friendly also but again you need to be friendly to them ,i ended up with quite a few free pints as i became friends with them. There is lots for the kids during the day and at night,i had 3 kids with me 11 down to 6 months.it will get cold sitting out at night but not British cold.if you have a child who needs baby milk bring it with you,YOU WILL NOT GET SMA ON THIS ISLAND.All in all a very good hotel, only 2 cockroches in 2 weeks and we where ground floor. 9/10.

We stayed in this hotel for 2 weeks and found it to be a fantastic hotel. The rooms were clean although basic but more than adequate for us. The areas of the hotel were spotless and the staff were friendly, the pool was cleaned every morning and it's safe for children.

We found the evening enterainment excellent the reps do a fantastic job. Cannot comment on the kids clubs as our children didn't use them.

Food at the hotel nice, we used the pizzeria a few times and good value for money. We had breakfast one morning it was ok buffet style with toast cereals bacon eggs etc but a bit on the expensive side at 8 euros per adult. If you walk down the main street you will find places that do a full English breakfast for half the price. Happy hour at the bar is between 6.30 and 7.30 perfect for a few drinks to start your night off.

As for the resort of Correlejo, well this is a big let down. Just one street of electrical shops and Chinese restaurants with a few souvenir shops in between and the odd place to eat. There is nowhere you can just have a drink and pass the time away as you almost feel obliged to eat wherever you go. We found a lovely little English place called the English Rose. They do good home cooked food and the beer is cheaper there.

We found the beach by Wakiki the best one to go to, water safe and beach nice and sandy for the children. The sand dunes are amazing but this is a 5 minute drive from the resort. You can pick a spot and not be disturbed even though expect to see the odd nudist about and take plenty of food and drink if planning to go for the day as there is nowhere you can buy these on the dunes.

In our opinion the hotel is great but it's in the wrong place as this is not a resort for a family with small chlidren. It's quiet and very expensive so for this reason we wouldn't go again if you do visit this resort then you really must try the pancakes from the man by the mini golf and trampolines just around the corner from hotel as these are the best pancakes we've ever had.

There was adequte utensils etc..in the kitchen area to get by for an easy holiday.

The hotel was very clean and the cleaners came in every other day to make the bed and leave fresh towels.

Location of the hotel was very good, about 5 mins walk from the main strip and the beach.

Reception staff were very friendly and always happy to help and the pool area was kept very clean.

We didn't catch much of the entertainment but during the day time by there pool the childrens entertainers were very good with the children and not in your face.

We gave the hotel 7/10 but if we had children it would be 10/10 it was very nice.

we had booked to stay at the oasis royal and paid extra to do so and was disappointed on check in to find we had been given a room at this complex. We'd already stayed at this complex peviously but fancied a change and also, the royal dunas got better reviews and was given a 4 star classification by our tour operater.

As we arrived late into the evening with a tired one year old we did not challenge the staff when told the royal dunas had been closed since 1st november!

I asked whether there was a cot in the apartment (which there wasn't) and was told by reception that my 12 month old baby should sleep on the sofa(what?) I insisted that this wasn't going to happen as she could easily roll off and hurt herself and we were given a cot bed with sheets to take up with us.

We asked for help to carry the cot bed and a porter led us round the complex for about half an hour - he hadn't a clue where he was going. This only added to our frustration.

When we eventually found our room (with no help from the porter) we discovered that it was a first floor apartment which was a struggle with a baby and pushchair and that the front door didn't close properly - nevermind lock, and the cot bed was broken. Arrrggghhhhhhhh!!!!

Apart from these problems the oasis dunas is actually ok. It is clean, the food is quite varied (unless you are a vegetarian like me - rice, chips and salad every evening i'm afraid), the apartments are adequate and the staff reasonably friendly.

I was also disappointed to find that all the pools were freezing cold despite being promised that the childrens' pool would be heated.

This complex in general is ok. However I would warn anyone staying there that it is very simple for theives to access the apartments. On christmas day at least 8 apartments were broken into (including our childrens one). They did this by simply lifting out the bedroom window. Security is practically non existant.
Apart from this - unfortunately the pool water was very cold (even the heated one) and the paper thin walls make for a noisy time. The food at the pool bar was quite nice and the staff in general very pleasant and helpful.

Have stayed in Corallejo before but this was first time at Oasis Dunas. On the whole the hotel is good with adequate facilities and entertainment etc. The location is much nearer the main town than its sister hotel Oasis Papagayo where we have previously stayed and is only approx 5-10 mins walk from most restaurants, shops etc.
On the whole we found the hotel clean but slightly dated compared to some of the gleaming new complexes around.
Reception was a little small but staff were very helpful.
Our first apartment was right at the back of the complex and was one of the oldest. Whilst it was clean enough some of the bed linen looked dirty and there was an awful smell of poo outside because of a broken manhole cover on a sewer.
We asked to change and in fairness the reception staff provided an alternative appt. straight away which was one of the newer ones and was much cleaner with a much bigger patio area.
In most appartments the patios are small and extremely close to one another!
Cleaning was faultless with the maids coming every day except Sundays and doing a very good job.
One night our boiler broke and water flooded the appt. The receptionist, who was the only member of staff on duty, did his best and by 11. the following morning a new boiler had been fitted.
Pools are large and spacious but again look slightly dated and in need of upgrade.
Plenty of sunchairs but these were all covered with towels by 08.45. No blaming the Germans, there were none; this was the British and Irish!
Clientelle was generally of a reasonable standard but some low life did appear during the stay leaving empty cans etc by the pool which was a shame because the staff do their best to keep the complex clean.
Kids clubs and entertainment was adequate and not shoved in your face.
All in all a good, clean complex but it is starting to look somewhat faded and unless you get the newer apartments at the back be prepared to get to know your neighbours very well.

I visited Oasis Dunas with my sister and mum last year, and I thought it was really nice!

The apartments were really clean and well looked after by the maids. The only bad thing I'd say is that they can be a bit cramped when one person is sleeping on the sofa bed, but this is not a big deal really - just a mild inconvenience, but we knew about this when we went.

The pools were great - really big and there were many of them! Only bad thing is I don't think they were cleaned as often as they should have been.

They were salt water but this didnt bother any of us at all, although I've heard it can irritate children's skin sometimes. They weren't heated but this was a good thing - they werent cold but they were cooler than the air and it proved a welcome relief!

Overall, I defo would go again:)

excellent facilities at this complex, friendly reception staff, cleaners were friendly maybe if you take the time to say hola to them they will see to your needs as ours came in every day with fresh towels, cleaned everyday and changed our bedding twice during the week we were there, what more could we ask for. The room was adequate for our needs, not to bothered about cooking facilities (as i dont do cooking on holiday)and everything in good repair, even better we had a great pool view. The entertainment staff well where do you start Richerd and Kerry what great voices you have, Danny you are a thoroughly funny guy EXCELLENT and what HARDWORKERS although there were no children in our party we alo recognised that the kids club leaders were also on the stage, hiya Toni and Emma you were fab, BEWARE though as by the end of your holiday you will be a cartoon hero, we were and loved it. The bar staff were friendly too but want to get you drunk as a half a San Miguel is 2.20 euros and a pint is 3 euros so guess what we were drinking,GREAT.

We stayed in the oasis Dunas hotel A310 right on the ground floor oppisite the pool. It was fabulous. We had no problems with the room or hotel. We even had a little cat visit us every day that made itself at home with us which was lovely. We had clean towels every day and the beds changed twice during our week stay what more could we ask for. We would definatly all go back. The appart/hotel bars and resturaunt was also lovely.

We've just returned home today after a two weeks brilliant holiday here.

Arrived to a bad start - fridge was not working and the defrosted water was all over the floor, then all the electric went off in room, called reception they were brilliant and 20 minutes after arriving there we were moved to a different room.

The room (C203) was in a great location, about 20 paces to the pool, just behind the front row, looking onto the pool. The rooms were clean and basic but they have every thing you need to get by. saw a few small bugs but not many. Maid was brill cleaned 10 days out of 14.
Hotel staff nice and friendly and spoke great english.
Lots of sun beds but be up by 7 to put your towels out or you wont get one !!!

The only downside is you have to hire a lot of things :-TV 30€ a week, 50€ for 2 weeks or 6€ a day. safe 20€ for two weeks with 10€ refundable deposit.we didnt bother hiring fans even tho it was hot we got by without them.

Complex was about 5 mins walk to main town with bars & shops along the way.

We were self catering so ate out most of the time.
Angels do a cracking breakfast, and Penny Lane is brill for meals and great staff.

GO see the Elvis show, its absolutley brill and had us in stitches laughing.

Hotel reps were great eventhough we had no small kiddies to take part they really knew there jobs and loved it too, especially Danny, hes a right laugh (check out his long arms!!) sorry Danny if you read this.

Overall had a great holiday and would go back again.

Visited Oasis Dunas with my partner and 3 year old daughter. On arrival room was dirty, had to be fumigated on our 3rd day due to bugs, maintenance didnt clean up dead bugs and the room was not cleaned for another 2 days. Bugs came back and we asked for a respray, only to be told that we would have to move room as we had an infant, we were not told this this first time, maid service was rare and sheets only changed twice in two weeks. Rooms are not safe for young children as the main door does not lock from inside and this is standard we were told. Electric sockets were hanging out of wall and live wires in the fuse box were covered with celotape. We were on ground floor and balcony was fenced with sharp lava rock. Rooms very basic, old & worn. Paint was coming away from pool floors and there was dirty tidemarks on all pool walls. On a positive note there was a good variety of entertainment for children all day and night. Would not visit this hotel again, very poor quality for apparently 3 star plus rating from Direct Holidays.

Hi i stayed in the oasis dunas in 2007 with my husband and daughter kate shes 11, she had a ball:)! The maids were friendlly they cleaned the rooms every day but only changed the bed sheets twice and we were staying for two weeks. The hotel food was nice but we only eat there twice we prefurd to eat out (try penny lane traditinal breakfasts yum!) The staff are very friendly and can talk brill english! i would advise this hotel for families with children because they do mini discos znd kidz club and trips for them for only 5 euros! the entertainment was ok the reps tried there best but not many proffesional shows ! The pool was massive one very deep (marking on the side of depth) and a padilling pool for the kiddies ! i would most probaly visit this hotel again like i said good for children !!!! brill weather and supermarket in hotel but it is a fair old walk to the main street but cheap in a taxi ps don`t forget aliva beach.

Just got back from the Oasis Dunas and thoroughly enjoyed it, gutted to be back. Overall a brilliant holiday, brilliant hotel, brilliant resort.

I would recommend families and couples go to this hotel. The rooms are nice, however I did have one incident where I had to complain about the lack of maid service in the room, we went 4 days without it being cleaned and the towels changed and we only stayed 7 days!

The weather was amazing, couldnt have been better, it was over 30c every day, not a cloud in the sky!

Restaurants and bars in the resort are really good, plenty to do.

The entertainers are good, every night the bar at the hotel was packed watching the entertainment! Would really recommend it, brilliant.

when we are arrived everything was as described if not more. it was a lovely well kept complex maids were friendly and always plenty of staff about tending to grounds etc. it is a short 5min walk to main strip also the waterpark is right opposite the dunas. the pools were kept clean a wee bit cold but ok once you were in also our children enjoyed the play park within the dunas. we were self catering but ate at the pool bar twice and it was good with friendly service. we ate out every night and really liked la tasca and the plaza was great too also was penny lane for your traditional british grub. weather was fantasic hope to return soon. one tip is to visit a local supermarket like netto , all dotted about , they are much cheaper than resort prices and also hyperdino's, it is located right in the town as you head to the harbour , just up to the right off the square, this is where the locals go. prices are much cheaper ! As i say , we will be back to corralejo , plenty to do here , next time will be for 2 weeks though, we really enjoyed ourselves and will definetley stay at the dunas again.

This is the 2nd year we have stayed here and hope to return again as it has all we need. It is clean and well maintained. We stayed in a 2 bed apartment. The pools are cold but seemed clean and once you were in soon warm up.
Excellent location - close enough to water park to walk there easily. Ate out each evening and did not use the on site entertainment. It was not what we wanted but it didn't get in the way of a good holiday.
Staff on reception very helpful and spoke good english.

We stayed at this hotel for 1 week, it is very clean the pools were, huge 1 deep, 1 about waist high, 1 about 2" deep for babies with a life gaurd on watch all the time.

Rooms very clean & spacious.

Reception staff on hand 24 hrs. We had a problem with a window that wouldn't close on the first night we reported it about 9pm when we got in that night it had been fixed straight away!

There is a restaurant which also does takeaway, great food also a supermarket in reception. There are 2 bars 1 family bar & 1 adults bar.

The hotel is right across from the aqua park, where the market is held twice a week. It is in a great location for shops beach pubs etc.

We came away without the kids but will definitely bring the kids next time as I know they will enjoy it as much as we did. The entertainment staff had things going on all day up to about 9pm.

Will definitely recommend.

On arriving at the Oasis Dunas despite the fact it was raining very heavily the friendly reception staff immediately made us very welcome.

The apartments were ideal and spotless. The apartments were cleaned on a regular basis and towels were in abundance.

The entertainment was excellent for anyone with children and there were activities at all times at the pool during the day.

As we were self catering we ate at the poolside bar on numerous occasions and found the food and service to be excellent.

An added bonus to the complex was the fact it had a quiet bar, as we are not all party animals it was lovely to relax at the end of the day with soft music and a nice drink.

I would definitely return to the Oasis Dunas and would recommend it to anyone.

The apartment was clean and had everything needed for a weeks holiday in the winter sun (30 degrees)

The pool was very cold but plenty of people were using it..The pools looked very clean and we did not hear any complaints about them.

There was also plenty of entertainment for younger children and also a creche facility if needed. Evening entertainment was there if you wanted to stay at the hotel (we went to the town every night) also a separate bar area if you wanted to be away from the holiday type entertainment.

Hotel staff were all great and reception staff all spoke English.

Not sure on food as we did not eat at the hotel.

The location of the hotel was only a very short walk into town.

We would not visit again, but only because we like to try different countries and resorts.

The room was damp with mildew on the walls. One bedroom was adequately furnised with a mirror and dressing table - no chair mind! We had to share rooms to get ready to go out!!

The pools were being rebuilt and painted and we were not informed beforehand, the noise was unbearable.

The reception staff unhelpful and to top it off the restaurant had burned down in March - long enough to let us know about it I think.

The hotel was quite a walk from the main resort so to go and eat you had to go on a route march.

Never again would I visit this hotel, we all went to the same resort last year at the same time and had a great time - what a difference a hotel makes!

The apartments were standard 3 star accommodation.

We had no real complaints about them and suited our needs....we're not big holiday chefs so the abscence of an oven wasn't a problem.

The maids came 5 times weekly, linen and towels were copious and the sun terrace was spacious. we had no one staying in the nearby apartments until our last night and we discovered the walls are paper thin.

Reception staff were efficient but business-like.However we were warned by Airtours that pool painting would occur from late september for 4 weeks approx. The work is a total pool refurbishment....its noisy ,dusty, ugly and intrusive. Down at the other pool which was clean but with freezing water the work is still audible but the palm trees blocked the view.

Fortunately our apartment was away from the renovation area and looked out on the well cared for gardens. The poolside bar had friendly staff and the snacks were ok.

The restaurant is obviously being rebuilt after the fire earlier this year....more construction! And this is beside the entertainment area. The entertainment was ok but very loud. the bar only seems to show soccer on its big screens which was a bore.

We travelled to Oasis Duna for a lovely, relaxing half term break.

We had been informed before departure that one of the pools would be closed for painting, but when we got there, the full extent of their "painting" was revealed. The bigger pool was being completely restructiured, with heavy duty building equipment being used.

We tried to eat lunch at the cafe and a builder was removed tiles with a pneumatic drill about 2 feet away from us. It was so bad, we couldn't stay to eat. We were told to use pools in sister hotel across the road, but as there were no toilet facilities and some of the pools were too deep to be safe for our children, that was not an option. We did not realise that the restaurant was not available. We were told by a member of staff that it had burnt down in 15 mins in March. This meant burgers from the building site if we wanted to eat at the hotel.

I think this is the worst place I have ever stayed in. The staff at the hotel were unhelpful and the rooms filthy.

What a disapointment.

Endured 1 week at Oasis Dunas, getting back on 28/10. On arrival, our first impressions were good. It was late evening and while making our way to our room we noticed that one of the pools had been fenced off.

Not a worry as this seemed consistent with the letter we had received from our travel company stating that the pool was being painted (the letter actually went so far as to limit the materials to paint and brushes), come the morning however we realised that this was absolutely not the case: Jack hammers, drills, sledge hammers, dumper trucks were all in use and this continued for the duration of our stay - the pool is being divided up through re-construction into separate pools involving firstly a complete de-construction of the tiling areas around the pool, trench digging and new concrete sections.

While this was going on there were also builders constructing a building beside the pool bar. Constant excessive noise and, at times, clouds of dust impacted upon everyone at the remaining open pool, and the lack of health and safety was worrying - at one time I watched a guy using a jackhammer removing tiles approx 1 metre from the kids pool with shards of tile flying into the air.

I also heard from other holidaymakers of children wandering into the building areas to retrieve balls etc due to the perimeter fencing being left open (think shear drops of 3m into empty pool).

I do wish we had changed hotel location when receiving the letter - we didn't as a bit of painting didn't sound so bad and our travel rep even rang the hotel to confirm the kids pool wouldn't be affected.

Hotel was clean in the main, although following the obligatory "giving up" of your room on your last day-and being allocated another room until departure, we had to go through 3 rooms in total to find a clean one, the second one was full of dead cockroaches. The receptionist attempted to shrug away the complaint by stating that cockroaches were living on the island...

The first room had been reported clean by the cleaning manager but just wasn't. After some stress we finally got a clean room to allow our 1 and 3 year olds to wash and sleep in.

Prices for TV and Safe are ridiculous.
Place seriously smells of sewage regularly.
You will know if someone is in the room next to/below/above yours.

Make your own mind up, I have.

Everything was great, the staff were lovely, always happy to help.

Clean, small kitchen area, its fine if your eating dinner out. Shower, bath, etc. The pool was being worked on at the time, but it was only one of the pools and there was plenty more room to sunbath and swim.

The early entertainment was similar every night, but being a group of 4 in our 20's we went out of the hotel more often than not.

It is about a 5 min walk to the main street.

Stayed in 2 bedroom apartment for a week.Apartment was spacious and cleaned every odd day.Basic but all you need.As we ate out every night didn't use kitchen but wouldn't attempt to cook as only a two ring hob. Bedrooms are well decorated and beds comfy but at night as no air con can get uncomfortable - hire a fan from reception cost about £10 for a week.

Food - meals available round pool during day but no other places to eat on complex.Restaurant burned down a few months ago and their having to rebuild one.

Location very good far enough from main resort but a pleasant walk in at night to bars and restaurants. One of main pools was shut being rebuilt but still another large pool that was overcrowded.Little pool also for toddlers which is ideal for young ones.

Had a great time with 2 year old daughter and two mum's who hadn't been abroad.

Only one hiccup - had a bit of an ant problem on next to last day - but reception dealt with , cleared up ants all apartment cleaned and bed linen changed.

If you had any problems reception staff always there and sorted out very quicly, couldn't fault.

Would recommend and hope to go back again.

We booked this holiday last minute 2 weeks before we flew off and had a fantastic time at this hotel. We were travelling with our 20 month old toddler son and the whole complex was ideal for us. The hotel is located about 10 mins walk from the main street full of all the shops, restaurants and bars. That was good for us as we were near everything to get to but at the same time the hotel was set back in a more quiet area which was great. The reception area is very nice and the staff always very helpful and spoke good english.

Our 1 bed apartment was located in blocks/area C and was a nice walk along the pool and through a couple of pretty garden paths to get to it. the grounds of this hotel i found lovely-lots of palm trees and cactuses and pretty flowers. The apartment itself was fine, although being so hot, air conditioning would have been nice. We hired a fan which was well worth the 12 euros a week as it meant we could sleep at night in a nice cool room. The maids were excellent and cleaned 5 times a week, changing towels, mopping floors etc and very friendly.

Having a young toddler, we never made use of the evening entertainment so can't really comment on that-although on occasions we walked past it, the kids seemed to be having a great time singing and dancing with the holidays reps.I can still hear that kids song in my head now......!

Supermarket on site provided everything, although like with most places, its worth walking to a bigger general supermarket for cheaper prices.

It has 2 huge pools, although one was closed for maintenance whilst we were there. This did not matter at all as the pools are both so huge there was plenty of room and sunloungers. The pool bar was cheap for basic meals like burgers and did good size portions for kids meals, i think our son got 5 or 6 fish fingers and chips and we had to help him finish it!

I like the fact this hotel has several internet pcs, and it cost 1 euro for 10 mins, ideal to just catch up with news or email etc. In our case, we used it to look up ferries to Lanzarote.

The complex had a couple of playgrounds and various kids clubs. It even had a 0-3 creche which looked good although we never felt the need to use it. The creche leaflet also said that items like highchairs, sterilisers, pushchairs etc could all be hired from the airtours/hotel which I thought was a great help should you need it.

All in all, we really enjoyed staying at this hotel and can't agree with previous negative reviews,as when we stayed there it was all good. The pool was cleaned daily and we always saw people in the grounds cleaning and tidying, they even have recycle bins everywhere.

I thought this hotel was good and was suprised to read all the bad reviews of it.

I found the rooms were clean and supplied with clean towels and sheets regularly. Even though most of the pool tables were out of use the site was kept up to scratch pretty well. The pool was clean apart from under a bridge.

There were plenty of sun loungers and plently of activities for the kids to do. For younger kids there were sports matches, games and dancing. And for teens there was the escape club. The reps (Kerry and Sarah)ran trips like laser tag and kareoke nights and were also in the resort in the day to keep everyone entertained.

The staff were efficient and did what they were supposed to do, even if their English wasn't as good as we had hoped. Other facilities included internet access, a childrens pool, restaurant (which had recently burned down when we were there but we ate out every night anyway so it didn't bother us) and 2 bars which served hot and cold drinks.

There was a supermarket onsite which was good for essentials but we found the nearby Netto more helpful. The location was great, just down the road from the water park and about 10 minute walk away from the old harbour town.

Overall we enjoyed our holiday and would happily visit Oasis Duna again.

This was our 2nd visit to the Oasis Dunas. Once again we had a lovely holiday. The location is just great, far enough outside of the main town, but close enough for a stroll in the evenings.

Staff very polite and nothing seemed to much trouble.

Very peaceful. Pool bar could do with a bit more variety on their menu, but again staff very helpful and what food we did have was very nice.

Geat pools, a must for those who don't like crowded pools.

Will hopefully return again one day.

Our check-in at reception was very fast. We had been advised before we travelled that the "Tucan" restaurant at the Oasis Dunas would be closed for the remainder of the summer due to a fire.

The first 2 bed apartment we got was behind the Tucan and had a view of the "debris", I went straight to reception and asked to be moved. They were hesitant at first, but then agreed. We were in block C, 1 row back from the pools.

Food at the poolside bar was ok, not great, staff were nice. Pool very salty, stings the eyes quite a bit. The pool got extremely dirty, a child vomited in the pool one day, I reported it to reception and 3 days later the vomit was still there. Thank goodness we were off sightseeing for these days. Just before a new arrival group, they lowered the pool level and instead of removing the "scum" and algae from the top of the pool, they painted over it. There were so many complaints at the welcome meeting that day that they ran out of complaint forms.

At our welcome meeting the reps warned everyone not to reserve sunbeds. Our first day, we got up at 09.30 and were lucky to get 2 beds (there was 6 of us), so it got to the stage of "if you can't beat them, join them". So up I got every morning at 07.45, got 6 sunbeds and sat there till everyone else with me got up at 09.30. Not once did I see someone remove the towels. 2 days before we were due to come home (the day of the new arrivals), I got up as usual, put the towels up, came back to apartment to get something, sat down and fell asleep. Got up at 09.15, ran to the pool, towels were gone. Got them back and the beds, But the point is over the 2 weeks only once did the reps move the towels. The warned over loud speaker that they would come around every 2 hours & remove towels if no-one sitting on them. People were afraid to go the the bleeding toilet!!!!!

Which leads me to another point. If you are travelling with kids, or even just adults, you have to keep going back to the apartment to go to the toilet as there are none around the pool area. Which is a big pain in the.....

Entertainment brought in, i.e. magicians etc. is alright, the karaoke on Monday nights always started slow, but really picked up, just a pity it didn't last longer (finished at 12). The in-house entertainment team were great. The team work really hard, they are not professional dancers and singers, but deserved a round of applause for the efforts at least. But the guests, when we were there, wouldn't even give them that. The kids loved the disco (a bit short though) and the songs and dances are very catchy. Believe me you WILL be singing them in your sleep.

Kids Clubs - On our brochure it said Free Kids Clubs, well technically this is not true. Most of the activities had a fee and only 1 or 2 of the sessions in the 2 weeks were actually free. Again, the staff were brilliant and the kids loved them.

Arrived at about 10.30pm. Rooms are not that difficult to find they are well signposted even in the dark. The towels were changed practically every day and the bedding once a week. no complaints there.

HOWEVER, the pool and the surroundings were filthy. The staff painted the pool one day with the water in it, there was scum down the grills by the pool, complained to reception took them 4 hours to clean it - one day one of the reps even had to get in the pool to clean out the empty cups, paper, beer cans and leaves from the previous day.

One day approx 20 people complained to the airtours reps after having a piece of paper left on their sunbeds regarding the state of the pool.

Kids clubs great can't comment on night entertainment did not watch it.

The pool area is great, although agree with previous reviewer that the pool could do with some parasols as it was very hot during our stay. The only problem with this apartment complex is how thin the walls are. You could literally hear every word your neighbours were saying (and they weren't even shouting!). Ear plugs are a must for this place.

We got to our place of stay around 22.30 reception staff very good in checking us in.

Maids came round to clean up but you would never noticed they had been apart from getting clean towels we had no hot water for 2 days as boiler broke.

Pool was very cold too, it didn't apply too us but the kids entertainment was very good.

I would recommend this for people with young families

First impressions on arrival at the Oasis Dunas appts were very good. We had to pass the swimming pools to get to our appartment and all 3 were very clean.

The pool side area was very well maintained and you didn't have to put a towel on the sunbeds to secure a position.

Be aware there are no umbrella's for sun shade apart from the poolside bar which served very good meals. The rooms were cleaned every day except Sunday and linen changed 3 times a week.

The only problem was lack of kitchen equipment but just for the 2 of us we coped. We went beginning of March and the weather was excellent but a little cool in the evenings but as there is no air conditioning this was no problem.

The town centre was a 5-10min walk with lots of bars and restaurants and we enjoyed the tapas bars towards the old town near the harbour. I would recommend these appts but again if you intended to do your own catering you would struggle with the facilities.

We stayed at OASIS DUNAS APARTMENTS in Fuerteventura
which is a modern complex, about 10 minutes walk from the start of the main town area. Although there are a number of small shops and cafe's a few minutes away from the complex which also has an onsite shop.

On arrival we had a short delay before we could go to our apartment which was on block 'C' - The reception staff were reasonably friendly and spoke English to a high standard.

The apartment although fairly basic, was clean tidy and comfortable. Maid service was every second day again to a good standard and the public areas were cleaned daily to a high standard.

The is a good selection of pools on site and various entertainment was provided. Restaurants and cafe's and bars, are on site, but as we like to eat out we did not use them.

We would certainly be more than happy to stay here again

We stayed for 1 week at the Oasis Dunas and to be honest we had a nightmare of a holiday.

We would advise everyone to be very careful as we we're robbed on our second night there and we lost all our valuables passports ect..our back bedroom window was forced open.

It's very dark if you stay in any block beyond A and it makes it a little difficult to find your rooms.

We went to the Oasis Dunas Aparthotel and it was FANTASTIC! Fair enough the pool water was cooler than I thought but you get used to it and I've never had such great lookin skin or hair since being in the pool (its salt water or fresh water whatever its called).

The apartment itself was great and it was cleaned 5 days a week (but it says in the brochure up to 2 times a week just but that is not the case!) the pools are big so there's no being on top of each other.

For a few days running there was only my family in the bottom swimming pool which is fine by me! The location was fab.

About 10/ 15 mins stroll away you hit the main resort filled with buzzing shops and great restaurants and too expensive either! I would definetly reccommend going. The staff were great (the reps and the hotel staff are superb).

First time visit to Fuerteventura - was impressed with Oasis Dunas on the whole.
Really good size with different areas spread out around the complex. There was the Pool area which was great size - lots room & not crowded even on a busy day!
Found staff helpful enough - had problems with safety deposit box and someone came out within the hr to fix. Cleaners in most days no problems.

Entertainment was bit strange!! We found it funny as they did try their best - just not our type of entertainment I dont think!! Lots of (bad)singing & mad dances.

We were very disappointed with certain issues at the Oasis, mainly down to lack of communication by Direct Holidays and some of the Aparthotels staff, although the Manageress was very helpful.

On arrival, kept waiting for 1.5 hours for apartment to be ready. We have 2 young children, so having to sit in reception was not fun, as it was lunchtime, kids wanting to go in Pools !

One pool closed, being repainted - Fumes were present for 6 days !. Not told of this prior to arrival by Direct Holidays.

Apartment clean, tidy, no cot we asked for though! Arrived after my return to reception.

Kids club not in grounds, had to go across road - no mention in Direct brochure!

Ate out every evening, so no comment on restaurant on site.

Lovely grounds, could have done with more cleaning around pool area/sunbeds every day.

On day 9, main large pool taped off, no prior warnings from Aparthotel or Direct Holidays, prior to Holiday. Spoke with Rep - useless, had to go direct to Manageress, she explained they always close pool at this time of year, for annual maintenance! She showed me letters she had sent to ALL Holiday companies! Left one smaller pool open for 700 plus guests to use! Other people had been told, with other companies in advance, but no-one I spoke to with Direct had! Luckily we only had 4 days left.

For this reason would not go again with Direct Holidays or at that time of year - October.

We booked 5 days before travelling and wouldn't normally go to a large complex or go self catering. Arriving late we had trouble finding the appt in the dark but were pleasantly surprised when we opened the door, apart from the heat which hit you even at that late hour.

Located in block C we were behind the Toucan restaurant in a quiet area. The self catering facilities were basic but sufficient for our needs.

We went and rented a fan that night (12E plus 10E deposit per week)which made it marginally more bearable, Top of our wish list would be air conditioning. The expected temperatures of 26 degrees in fact hit 35 degrees plus for much of the week. Take plenty of sun tan lotion and a hat!

The room was kept clean and towels/bedding changed as stated in the welcome pack which was very helpful. We did not stay on site much so cannot comment on the many facilities which were more suited to families than us oldies. However the reps worked very hard and the bit of entertainment we saw was good. We had most to do with Ben and Nick who were really great.

We found the reception staff helpful if not over friendly and the supermarket although slightly pricey was very well stocked and the staff friendly.

The pool area was very impressive though one of the pools was being repainted which we'd been advised off on booking. The remaining two large salt water pools did not appear over crowded.

The location was good about 15 mins(our pace) into the main street of Corralejo and opposite a large water park.

It was our first visit to Fuerteventura and we'd read reviews on this site before we went, some good, some not so good, but it's all personal opinion, what suits some, doesn't suit others, we all have to draw our own conclusions.

The hotel itself was great, out from the main hustle and bustle but still convenient(about 10-15 minutes walk from all you could want).

The staff were very helpful the pools were always busy, as was the club.

I was disappointed with a few things, such as, the food at the Toucan.

The "adult" entertainment was very poor but the kids club was very popular.

Accommodation was basic but adequate, though it would be a struggle cooking for a family of four with only a two burner hob, but all that aside, if you want a nice relaxing holiday I would definitely recommend it.

We are already planning our next visit, but as I said, it's personal opinion!

Entertainment can be at best be described as avereage but you dont have to watch!
We last visited in March 05 and found the rooms not to hot on a night but in September it was red hot and had to hire a fan but it made liitle difference, Fans can be purchased at Hiper Dinos supermarket in town for 12.99 euros and it costs that for a weeks hire!!!

Overall a good self catering complex but you will be better off going into the town to eat and drink some fantastic restraunts downn by the harbour and in music square the best one is La Tahona in the square excellent food and service - we will be back shortly!!!

Would definitely stay at this complex again, moreso if we were to go off peak,( too much for me (July/August). Clean enough could be better but did'nt put us off.

Ate at the Tucan restaurant on site first night not bad but had better when we ate out in Corralejo.

Location perfect, about 5 mins into heart of resort.
Little dealings with hotel staff, no untoward problems when I did deal with them hence average scoring.

Scored generously for entertainment due to my daughter's enjoyment of mini disco, did'nt hang around for adults entertainment.

It will be some time before we visit Fuerteventura again, like to move around a bit, but would stay at this place again.

Only fault was paint coming off floor pools in huge strips.

We have just returned from Oasis Dunas and are already looking to make a return visit. We found the complex clean and beautifully laid out.

The pool area is excellent although we do prefer the beach. The pools were clean and very warm( I expected them to be freezing after some of the previous reports.) that may have been due to the exceptionally hot weather- but whose complaining!

You can always see someone cleaning around the place and the apartments were kept clean, only gripe was no large brush to sweep floor after coming back from beach so you had to wait for the maid to do it.

The apartments themselves (we had two- brilliant with two teenage girls)were not huge but big enough for our needs, we only ate breakfast there and prepared lunch to take to the beach.

Be warned the fridges are useless, lost count of how many cartons of milk we put in there only to find it gone off the next morning, pretty annoying if you like cereals for breakfast and the shop is still selling the same date milk that has already gone off.

The rooms were very hot at night we hired a fan, that was great until my daughter fainted with the heat, fell on it and broke it. We did however still get our deposit back after we explained how it had been broken.

The hotel supermarket sold most of your needs but we found the netto supermarket better. Only a short walk away, as were all the other shops ,bars ,restaurants etc. So the complex is in a great location if you like everything to hand.

We didnt really stay for the evening entertainment as we prefer to walk into town and find our own. All in all we had a great holiday here and would recommend the place to anyone.

This was our first visit to Fuerteventura and definately won't be our last.

We arrived late at night, and did find it hard to locate our room, as the complex was so big, however the security guard on watch that night helped us thank god!

We were very pleased with the room, it was very clean and a nice size. We were a bit disappointed however as we did request ground level floor and a pool view, but we did not receive either! However that did not spoil our holiday!

The what's on welcome meeting was out of this world, this was the first time we had travelled with Airtours and with other tour operators we get a boring plain welcome meeting, but I must say the entertainers and reps made it enjoyable.

The pool was nice with plenty of sunbeds surrounding it. We were only without a sunbd for 1 day, so that was o.k!But make sure you are down by the pool by 9am to get a sunbed!! The pool was also kept very clean!

During the day, the entertainers were about entertaining, however what we liked was they did not hassle you to join in! which was great! My son did enjoy the daily volley ball!!

The hotel location was ideal it was in the town centre but yet out of it! It was about a 5 minute walk to get to the bars and restaurants. The market was also only up the road and the waterpark was directly across the road!

The hotel staff were brilliant, however the pool bar staff did leave the crew down a bit as they were rather abrupt in my opinion. However the night bar staff and the reception staff made up for them! The cleaners were also very friendly, and even tried making conversation in the mornings and were very interested to learn our language (Welsh)so every morning she would see us and say bore da (good morning).

The evening entertainment was good of what we saw. The hypnotist and the own reps shows are a must go and see!

Trips that we went on were to the water park and also to Caleta de Fuste and also over to Lanzarote! they were enjoyable.

In the evenings we had food in the town. We did not have a bad meal during our stay some of our faves were Chablis (excellent brekie and Sunday dinner) Penny Lane, Steak House, Poco Locos and La Siriena.

We found there was not a lot of choice for entertainment in the town. We spent most of our evenings either in the hotel or in "Talk of the town" There are quizzes with prizes, Live music and plenty of laughs to be had here!

The best supermarket we found was "netto" very cheap and good English is spoken here!

I would most definitely visit this hotel again, not for a few year however as we would like the town to develop slightly for more entertainment!

The Oasis Duna has two large salt water pools - which were as warm as any other pools I have been in, they also had a large baby pool (one of the best I have ever seen).

Our apartment was smaller than most we have been in - but at the end of the day its only somewhere to sleep, and it was very clean.

The entertainment was very good - loads to do - although we were told that two Airtours reps had walked out - so at times there wasn't all the advertised entertainment.

The pool staff - well maybe a lesson in smiling would be a good idea - Carmen and Veronia were lovely, but the male staff were a bit unfriendly and sullen.

The food was brilliant and good value, although the drinks were a bit pricey. The Tucan restaurant on site - excellent food but be prepared to wait a long time - at least an hour - on our last night after ordering our food and waiting two hours we gave up - which was annoying to say the least.

The reception staff were good - any problem was sorted out straight away, the cleaning staff worked really hard - and the complex was always clean. The pool was cleaned each day and every few days the baby pool was drained completely and re-filled.

When we arrived we were checked in really quickly and we were given just what we had asked for, an upstairs apartment with pool view in A block which was in the best location. It had a lovely pool view but was far away from the stage area so we did not suffer any noise from it at night. The apartment was spotlessly clean and the rooms were spacious. You can hear your neighours next door if they are shouting but you cannot hear everything as stated in some previous comments. The apartments walls are no thinner than any others we have stayed in. There was a good safe for your valuables which worked on a combination and not a key. The room was cleaned regularly and towels and sheets were changed when promised. Our maid was very friendly. We never had a single encounter with any mozzies but we did have one cockroach in the apartment one morning but I think it had come in out of the thunderstorm we had just had in the night so that didn't worry me as we never saw it again.

The complex is in a good location about 5-10 minutes walk from the main restaurants in town and we ate in town a few times but preferred to get take out from the on site Tucan restaurant, we could feed our family for about a third of what it would cost in the town and the food was really nice. We used to get the carbonara and the small paellas and pizzas. Some people previously have complained that the Tucan staff and bar staff can be misreable and rude, one word of advice, DO TRY to order things in Spanish, its amazing how much the locals appreciate it and it miraculously makes them so much more eager to help you. My hubby always tries to speak the lingo and it got so that the lady in the pool bar took a shine to him and would sometimes give him a beer for free and little spanish lessons while he was waiting for his food. They really do like it
