| said: We had a good time at Dunas Caleta complex. The rooms were very basic. We got 2 single beds and a pull out single settee bed.We ended up sharing a single bed and so did the our kids because we all wanted use of the Fan and so we all slept in one room to keep cool. The rooms get very hot and sticky. The towels (tatty brown ones)are reguarly changed and the rooms are swept and cleaned too. We were on the top floor apartment so we didn't get Ants and cockroaches in our room but heard of loads that they had and they were on the ground floor. The swimming pool is 1.5 metre depth.I'm 5 ft 7 and it came up to my shoulders. There is also a small kiddies pool. the pool area is cleaned everyday to my knowledge. Gary the entertainment manager is good fun. He would get everyone playing water polo and football tennis. Mark the young Dutch guy was great with everyone. He was so funny when playing Bingo "Nearly" (you'll understand when you get there)Cracking Guys! The entertainment was good too. We found it easier and convienient to stay at the complex. We made some great friends and had a fantastic time.
Found some of the bar staff miserable especially the young spanish girl but one guy called Scott was really nice and friendly(top bloke). They often shut up a little earlier than stated(12am) which was annoying but stock up on your drinks and you'll be laughin. I would return to this complex if they update the rooms with double beds and new fridges.

| said: We stayed in a two bedroom apartment which was clean, tidy and spacious. The maids came in 2/3 times to clean and change the towels. We had a ground floor and had no trouble with cockroaches, only saw one during our week's stay.
The apartment had a little front garden so we took some sunbeds in there to sunbathe in private!
Our pool was empty maybe because it was cold! The pool on the other side of the complex was busy. There were only a handful of people sunbathing each day and we went during the Easter week!
We had poolside snacks at the other side of the hotel complex and the food was lovely. The evening entertainment was a quiz, snake act, singers etc, fine to sit and unwind with a cool drink. Nicky and Gary were totally fab and funny entertainers.
I loved the weather, so warm at night whilst England had snow! A windy island during the day time.
We loved walking along the harbour and beaches, we visited the dunes and flag beach.
There are not many people around, a really quiet holiday.
I wouldnot go if you expect a noisy, lively holiday, it was perfect for us under family circumstances.
No problems, happy holidays to you all

Complex is well located just off the Main Street but without the noise.
Supermarkets/Banks/Car Hire just a 50 yard stroll away. 'Old Town' with Music Square and loads of eateries etc is about 10 minutes down Main Street.
Nearest beach about 5 minutes.
Complex grounds are well maintained with lots of sunbeds and large pool. Very neat and tidy grounds.
Apartment was well equipped for up to six people and was kept spotlessly clean by the maids every day. However decor and fittings are in need of refurbishment as they all look a little 'tired'.
Would stay there again without hesitation

| said: The Dunas Caleta or the Dunas Alisios as it is now known is one of the best hotels in Corralejo and wherever possible I try to get there.
The staff are brilliant and can all speak English but most of them are English anyway.
The food is also very well presented and enjoyable. They do a BBQ on a Thursday night (make sur you don't eat during the day as very filling)
They do a delicious roast dinner on a Sunday evening which you have to book due to demand.
Entertainment- well depends on what you are there for. Family's with kids it's great but don't cater for older couples or couples without kids.

We have been at different times of the year and have allways found it a1.
The staff are so friendly always helpful. The cleaners are very polite and allways leave the room spotless. It is so close to everything you need.
We eat at the waikiki beach restaurant which is on the white beach.
The pool is cleaned everyday as is the whole complex. Its palm tree laiden grounds give it an oasis feel, quiet, calm, relaxing.
I cant say enough about the place and I would recommend it (as I have to friends)to anyone

| said: This was one of the best holidays our family has ever been on and we have already made plans to visit this hotel next year!
The rooms were cleaned almost every day and the beds were made every day. Clean towels were provided every 2 days and did not smell horrible or dirty but clean and well washed. The maids spent ages cleaning each room with attention and care. We went out every night to eat so we didn't sample the hotel food but plenty of people did and had no complaints. You are spoilt for choice of restaurants, there is everything from traditional Spanish restaurants to Mexican to Chinese. The Chinese chain "Slow boat" is to die for and we would recommend it.There is a wide selection of bars and pubs . We would recommend that you visit the racing bar above the steak house, next door to the Rock Cafe! We watched the hypnotism and it was absolutely fab!!!
We booked an excursion on a catamaran and it was brilliant. There was an oppurtunity to go on a jet ski and snorkle in the middle of the unspoilt, unpolluted sea. The hotel in my oppinion was the best out of all of the hotels we seen and was only a 5 minuite walk from the main stretch of restaurants and bars. This meant that you couldnt hear much when you were going to sleep but you also didnt have to walk far to the main entertainment. The hotel staff were friendly were always happy to help. Gary the head of entertainment was good and did volcano walks every week. He was helpful and funny! We did win a general knowledge quiz and won a jug of sangria much to our delight!
As I said earlier we will definitley be returning to this hotel!

| said: We stayed at the Dunas Caleta from the 17th to the 31st July.
Our room was spacious and the kitchen facilities were good. We ate out every night but if you wanted to eat in the apartment then there are ample plates, utensils, sauce pans and a frying pan etc.
The decor is quite dated although it was kept very clean by the maids who came round everyday except sunday. The only thing I would warn you about is the black furniture! If you sit on the stools in the kitchen area with bare legs or lean against the arms of the sofa with bare arms you get black bits of paint stuck to you, although they do brush off!
The bathroom is good, the shower is quite powerful and there was always hot water no matter what time you want it.
In our room we couldnt shut the door of the bathroom without putting the toilet seat up first! We were also given clean towels everyday which was great
The pool area is lovely, kept very clean and tidy.
We went in the height of the season and there was not always enough sunbeds to go around which was disappointing! The main pool is very very deep so not great for smaller children as there is no shallow end!
The bar served decent enough snacks for during the day although we tended to eat out as there are so many restaurants close by.
The complex is in a great location, everything is in walking distance, approx 10 - 15 mins to the harbour and only 100 yards to the nearest supermarket and the main street.
The kids club was great, Rachel and Craig did a brilliant job, my daughter really enjoyed it.
The evening entertainment was indoors in the bar area so we didnt see much of it as it was way too hot to be inside without air con for too long. It would be better outside.
All in all we enjoyed our stay and think the Dunas was a good choice!

| said: Spent two weeks at Dunas Caleta from 11/07/07-25.07/07 and had a fantastic time. Reception is manned by almost all British staff and the Spanish ones can speak excellent English.
The rooms are spacious and well equipped, with a kettle, toaster, microwave and even a sandwich maker,a coin operated tv which gives you 30 mins for 50 Cents thankfully a fan is also supplied. Air conditioning would have been appreciated but it cools down significantly at night time so it didnt cause too much discomfort. We slept with the bedroom windows slightly open which helped enormously.
The pool has steps going down to it and is the same depth throughout, approx 5ft which could cause problems for young children but there is a baby pool for toddlers.
There are plenty of sunbeds around the pool if used responsibly, our first week proved no problem and you could get one no matter what time you got up, the second week was a different matter, the main English holidays kicked in and the dawn patrol were out in force, claiming beds they had no intentions of using till mid-afternoon which was annoying and could have caused problems. Umbrellas can be obtained from reception for a 5 Euro deposit, these are then yours with the deposit returned at the end of your holiday.
Safe deposit boxes are bolted into the floor inside the cupboard in the appartment and are rented for 24 Euros for a fortnight..very reasonable..to be honest there were a few incidents of theft while we were there..but these were all due to valuables being left in open view and all windows and doors were checked by the maintenance people while we were there.
I have never seen so many cleaners!!! the whole pool area was cleaned every day apart from Sunday with the rooms cleaned 5 times a week and new towels every day.
Even though, you still get the feeling that the whole complex could do with a makeover..from the occasional broken tile to peeling paint the complex looked tired, but dont let the cosmetics put you off. Nikki, Gary and the on-site entertainment team are fantastic and cater for all ages, from organising the football tennis and water polo to appearing and starring in the evening shows they were always around and if you couldnt see them you would hear them..a fantastic bunch who help to make this a wonderfull familly complex.
The pool bar is extreemely good value for money, 2.80 Euros for a large beer with 2 for 1 at happy hour 5pm-6pm and good quality snacks eg.. chicken burger and chips for 4 euros meant that it was very popular, you must give the barbecue night a try..12 Euros for a plate-full you will struggle to eat plus salad and pasta with a half litre of Sangria for the adults and a soft drink for the kids will give you a night to remember.
Nightly entertainment was also good, nightly kiddies disco and a wide variety of free shows mean you dont have to leave the complex to be entertained. The restaurants are also excellent, from Mexican to Chinese to Italian to fish caught locally there is something for everyone, our favourite was the Italian pizzeria, you can find this by leaving the complex and walking down the main street, go fast the green man who will blow you big bubbles if you put a coin in his hat, it is up the stairs on the right next to a steak house..the pizzas are fantastic and I defy you to finish the meat platter for two...
The resort is fairly small and caters mainly for families although there are some bars for the young ones up the stairs in the Atlantico centre, down the very bottom next to the gay bar is a great family bar called "The venue".. Beers at 2.50 euros, nightly quizes and free playstation games for the kids to play gives the adults a chance to relax.
All in all we really enjoyed ourselves and will definitely go back in a couple of years.

Hated every minute of it , there were ants all over our room and had to fight to get back to our room at night because there was that many cockroaches!!! and once you got to the room there were more in there.
There was security walking around all night and when walking around the hotel was full of locals.
Bar staff were rude and ALWAYS closed the bar early.
We changed rooms in the end because there were that many ants and cockroaches!
Would not recommend at all!

| said: This place made it a great Family Holiday.
Excellent clean pool for the kids and the parents of course! Plenty of Sun Beds around the pool, and no word of a lie it was sometimes 10am before the first towel appeared, and there were so many beds there was no need to be out @ the crack of dawn laying claim to your sun bed for the day.
Did Self Catering, but the Bar serve excellent snacks for the family around the pool; my 5 year would recommend the Hot Dog and my 2 year old the Cheese Toasty.
Gary & Nicky also during the day laid on the daily Football Tennis and Water Polo comps, which made for some cracking ties and loud cheers.
Had an apartment (D18) that looked across from the pool, and this was excellent for the day (pool access etc), but also @ the evening with having a young family meant the noise from the evening entertainment didn’t keep the kids awake if they wanted an early night. Good point is these things have Sky 1 & Sky Sports 1 so we got to watch the last 2 hours of Lost and catch the Champions League Final etc, only pain was the Cartoon Network channel was in Spanish.
The apartment was Ground floor for the kids, and had lots of space, was clean and functional and did what it needed to do, and did have a secure looking safe for your belongings.
Evening entertainment was fabulous and hats off to Gary & Nicky for what they do, and remembering all the kids names, this can make a kids holiday, and they certainly know how to do a good job. The small bar was packed every evening, with a variety of acts through the week, Parrots, Snakes, Magic, Balancing Acts, etc. They also go out of there way to make sure that if a big football match is on, it is accommodated.

In fact I am due to go out again 3rd Oct 2007 for two weeks as it is the place I want to celebrate my 50th birthday.
Although not a 5 star complex this is only because of the decor. I would recommend the Dunas Caleta to anyone with or without family. It is an ideal place to spand your time either as a single person, a couple or a family...whatever you are you ar always made ot feel welcome.
ALL IN ALL I WOULD GIVE THE DUNAS CALETA ***** EVEN IF THE TOUR AGENTS DON'T.
Oh and possibly very soon this is not going to be a Thomson only hotel so will be able to book direct or through alternative agents

| said: We stayed at the Dunas Caleta for a week over Christmas 2006.
We booked an allocation on arrival and, for the price we paid, weren't expecting much!!
When we arrived at the accommodation, check in was very fast and friendly. The apartments were fine, could do with a refurb, but adequate (with microwave, sandwich toaster etc). Our first impression of the pool/bar area was "Butlins Abroad" but I have to say it was one of the best holidays we have had.
Staff were brilliant, there were some good shows on in the evening (which we went back to watch - a first for us), Gary and Nicky were great with the kids, drinks and snacks were reasonably priced.
Wouldn't be disappointed if we ended up here again on a late deal but wouldn't be happy if I paid the full brochure price. Walk into town was about 15 minutes and there are loads of place to eat and drink. Our favourite was Restaurant Eve (just off Music Square).
Would definitely return to Fuerteventura, we thought it beat Tenerife and Lanzarote hands down.

| said: We stayed at the Dunas Caleta on a last minute deal. This was a big mistake.
The food at the hotel was truely appalling, we had to eat out for over half our holiday as there was nothing edible on the menu. We are not fussy eaters but still found it impossible to find anything to eat! The breakfast were a joke ! Everything came out separately eggs 15 mins after the rest of breakfast. The main problem is that the hotel are trying to provide half board on a shoe string.
The hotel is staffed mainly by English staff so they are like one big happy family. However this means that they are far more concerned with each others welfare than they are with their guests.
The apartments are basic and tired. They need an injection of cash because they could be very nice if they had a make over treatment. For example the toilets in the public areas 2 out of 3 of the toilets were broken cracked or coming away from the wall!
I would not go back to these apartments half board, but would consider them for self catering if they had the changing rooms treatment!

The pool area is very clean, washed down every morning. We had no fights for sunbeds and went there in August.
Entertainment was good for the children, a few shows on, disco, and quiz nights.
The snack bar was good value, would recommend the barbecue night 12 euros adults, 6 euros children every meat you can think of, salad, potatoes, sauces, fresh fruit salad and 1/2 litre sangria each or juice for the children.
Only grumble I did have there was not enough staff on the bar and the tables were not cleaned often enough on the balcony. 90% percent of the staff are English, and are very helpful.
The apartments are in a very good location, central to everything would go back to them again.

| said: The rooms were spacious and very clean. The maid cleaned every day, and we had clean bedding and towels every other day. The self catering facilities were a microwave and a halogen hob, probably the best I have seen in an apartment.
I would highly recommend the Sunday Roast in the hotel restaurant, but we had the breakfast on the day before we left and that was not brilliant. The food in the pool bar was ok for the kids, the pizzas are as good as any and the filled baguettes are good value for money.
The hotel staff could not have been better, we met up with some friends there and they even re-arranged our rooms so we could be together. Most of the staff were English speaking and always friendly.
The only one gripe was the sun beds!! but to be fair the hotel staff did what they could so that every one got a fair chance to get one.
The evening entertainment was basically Gary and Nicky! But they were great at keeping the kids entertained with a few quizzes and shows for the adults. All in all I would recommend this hotel to anyone. We had a great two weeks.

However the grounds were kept very clean and well presented.
After our first night out we decided to have breakfast at the pool bar, this was the last time we ate there! The food was disgusting and stone cold,we also overheard other guests passing comment about the food.I strongly suggest going self catering!
Overall we had a great time and yes we would use this hotel as a base again, the room was clean, spacious, the staff friendly and for those with kids it was ideal. We went as a couple but if we had children with us they would have loved it. There is so much for them to do and the entertainment for them was well co-ordinated.

| said: Having read some of the reviews on this site was abit apprehensive about going, you have to remember you can't please everybody all the time. I can honestly say that I found the apartments very clean and well furnished. The maids came in every other day and changed towels and bedding, the kitchen was well equipped (have stayed in alot of 4 star apartments and have had to hire toaster!)
The pool area and surroundings are lovely, the pool area and pool were cleaned every single morning.
The food from bar was nice, kids loved the pizzas, but we always ate out at night, there are some really lovely restaurants about.
Booked a couple of trips one to water park which the kids loved and another to the oasis park which was expensive but a good day out, camel ride was an experience!!! Last but not least the holiday reps, my daughter loved the kids club and really enjoyed the mini disco.
The reps work really hard, but also look like they enjoy it which is nice to see.
I would definitely go back to these apartments again.

Our apartment got cleaned everyday and was really well kept.
The location was super with a very long road of shops for all us girls and the beach was only 5-10 minutes away.
Entertainment staff were awesome especially Gary with all his jokes and kept everyone laughing.

Refurbishment taking place - outside table & four chairs replaced whilst we were there. The cleaner came every one or two days - towels replaced three times & bed linen twice in the week. Maintenance staff excellent - a light bulb & extractor fan replaced within two hours of reporting the faults. The portable fans were all cleaned in our block in the week!!
The hotel couldn't be in a better location.
The pool and surrounding areas were kept clean & there were plenty of sun lougers for everyone.
We only had one meal in the hotel - the food was excellent. There were many restaurants within easy walking distance.

| said: The hotel was nice, the pool was great but the rooms were passed their sell by date. They were clean enough but looked liked they had not been refurbished for at least 15 years. The hotel bar area was very clean and if you like football there is a big screen. There is also a mini arcade for kids but again was well past it's sell by date.
Overall the hotel is a good place to stay and I will go back.

| said: Great holiday!
Hotel was better than I expected after reading reviews.
The only moan I have is the sofa bed was so uncomfortable.
Everything else was good. Plenty of room, cleaner came every day.
We were self catering but did eat at hotel a couple of nights and had snacks by the pool, the food was great and value for money, pizza's and toasties was lovely!
There was plenty sun loungers and you could get a parasol from reception for a deposit of 5 euros which by the end of the week you might be glad off, the pool was nice and clean and the pool area was cleaned everyday,
The staff was so friendly and all speak good English,
Our Thomson holiday rep Kathrine was so nice and helpful,
The hotel location was great 2 mins from shops and beaches,
The entertainment was good for people with small children as they had a disco every night for them. The adult entertainment was good but there wasn’t something on every night but this may have been because it is early in the year,
I would visit this hotel again, maybe this year!

| said: The hotel is nicely placed to access all the local amenities in Corralejo. Most evenings it was a pleasant stroll down through the town to see the bars and shops.
There is a small and friendly feel about the place as it all centres around the hotel pool with terraces and balconies all having a view to the pool and the surrounding area.
It was such a shame that so many guests came down with stomach bugs. 62 cases were recorded in three days, some requiring hospital treatment.
The cleaning of the rooms was minimalist, I timed the average at 2 minutes 11 seconds!
The staff were mainly British and, with their urge to help often cross the boundary between catering and bar work which did not help the infection spread. The water also went off twice leaving a lot of desperate holiday makers waiting for toilets and hand washing.
The green towels issued to all the rooms smelled of all sorts of disgusting things and had not been laundered properly
Some of the staff were also complaining of sickness and diarrhoea and were still involved in preparing food and drinks. This would not be allowed in the UK.
Such a shame that when we spoke to the rep they seemed to think it was normal and tried to fob us off.
This could be a lovely hotel but really needs to keep up with the Spanish ones and not act like something out of Blackpool!

| said: We have just returned from a two week holiday at this hotel. I am quite surprised about the good comments this hotel received. Personally, I would say it was in need of a bit of a 'clean up'. Firstly, all the staff were amazing, very friendly and helpful. The food was good. We only had snacks, but my son loved the chicken nuggets and chips!!! We didn't really stay in the hotel on an evening as there were so many restaurants and an ideal kiddies park with a bouncy castle and trampolines. The complaint I had with this hotel was the ants!!! Loads of them on the kitchen units (even though they were cleaned daily), dead ants on the floor, dead ants on the kettle - need I say more!!! My other complaint was the pull out bed. I am not a big person but everytime I sat on it, I fell through it! So I have come home with a few bruises.
If you want to stay in a cheap hotel and like ants then this is the one, but I would certainly say there are better hotels around.

We was looking for a chill holiday, you know the kind, where you can do whatever you want for a whole week, and we had a great time.
The location of the hotel is the best place you could go in Corralejo. Its about 3minutes walk to everything, the beach, the main street is just around the corner, the waterpark is just along the main street, the bowling lanes are next to the waterpark and I could go on and on...
The beach: the beach closest to the hotel is Waikiki Beach, small and not 'that' busy. But you can follow it right round to the sand dunes (if you can be bothered to walk for more than half an hour) ...
the hotel: the hotel really was a nice place to stay. The food wasn't the best (abit burnt at times.) The entertainment was great, really gets the guests laughing. The daytime activities wasn't the best, they entertainment team only seemed to play football tennis, not the best thing for the girls. The rooms were very nice, just remember to take alot of 50cent coins to play the TV. 50cent last for half an hour. The staff at the reception were very helpful, talked very fluent english. The bad point of the holiday was the pool. It was freezing, and when its hot, you really want a pool to just go for a little paddle in.
The Food Around: there were 'alot' of nice resteraunts around the area, Don Camillos (on the corner of the main street) nice for an English Breakfast. There was a couple of resteraunts around the square that had the slowest worst service (sorry to say).
Definately recommend this resort and this hotel. A great holiday to start the new year :)

The cleaner called at least every other day and was friendly and polite. The apartment was always cleaned to a high standard. The sofa pull out bed broke but after we complained at reception within ten minutes was repaired. The location was fantastic close enough for the young children to be able to walk out to the restaurants, also close enough to the beach however the children were always begging to stay by the pool.
All staff were helpful. Gary and Nicky are brilliant with the kids, loved the kiddy disco. The kids club fantastic. The pool is like ice but is nice once you are in. Didnt seem to bother the children.
This was our first holiday abroad with the children and one we will always remember. We are currently looking through brochures for the next one and it is very tempting to return here.
A great family holiday.

| said: After visiting this complex in September 2001, an having great time decided to return upon having new addition. This complex is fantastic same staff working there from before I think they built the place around Gary mind you he really does make the place great.
The island itself is great for children because of the cool breaze does make the heat more bearable. The complex staff are very friendly and all english speaking. The rooms are quite big and very clean. Maid service most days clean sheets and towels daily.
The only recommendation I would make is that on the rooms facing the road they had a break in but this happened was the family did leave the patio door open which was on view from the road. But the staff were quick to act. On the two times we have been the kids club has been good an they did do activertys for them in the shade on a day which was really hot.
I would recommend you try Garys barbcue if your a meat lover there was loads and equally for the children. On both holidays weve meet some lovely people and are still in touch with them now. The gardens are well kept, an pool really clean.
I would really recommend this holiday for families the kids will love it!

The apartments are quite big with a balcony both front and back all overlooking the pool and garden area. Plenty of room for our clothes and things, they supply a fan but we hired a second one as it was so hot at night.
The pool was great, its nice and big and there were plenty of sunbeds, kids loved it.
Staff were great kids loved the disco with Gary and Nicky and the thompson kids reps(Kev and Nicola) entertainment at night was ok quizes every night every other night there was a show.
Dunas Caleta is very close to the Waikiki beach which is safe for kids and was never too crowded. Also just round the corner from the waterpark.
We would definitely go back again, and have heard that they have just applied for this hotel to be a Thomson superfamily, this was a great family holiday cant wait for the next.

| said: We stayed in these apartments in Aug 2005. We ate in the restaurant one night then decided to upgrade to a half board basis for 99 euros each 49 euros kids. What a mistake the food was almost the same every night and we kind of felt this was re heated from the night before as well. We complained about some chicken kebabs that were not cooked and they just said fine we will put them back in the oven for a minute.
One of the staff that was in the buffet service was extremely rude he didn’t like children leaving anything on their plate and when they are in another country trying different food sometimes they don’t like things. He even went to the extreme of turning my sons head towards his plate and pushing his head into his plate how I kept my cool was beyond me.
The rooms were clean the location was perfect.
The pool was fine.
The entertainment was rubbish the same parrot show twice while we were there. I think the entertainment is for middle aged to old not for people aged between 3 and 38 Beatles and Carpenters all the time round the pool no chart stuff no rock no dance music boring.
Bar staff are fine and the English cook who makes food in day is a good laugh

| said: The Dunas Caleta was fantastic. It is a very nice looking hotel with a lovely pool and childrens pool. There were plenty of sunbeds and you could put your towel on them from 9am.
The rooms are spacious and clean. We had cleaner service 5 days a week and you could not fault it. There was a small issue with cockroaches but there was nothing they could do about them as it was their mating season.
We noticed alot outside at night and found a couple in our room but as the days went by there seemed to be less.
The receptionists were also faultless they were very helpful and they sorted any problems we had straight away.
Our fan was broken and the fridge door would not close and within a couple of hours we had a new fan and the fridge was fixed.
The hotel staff were great. Gary was always making sure everyone was happy and would always find you a seat for the shows.
We did our own thing most of the time so did not really take part in many activities. We watched two professional shows and they were very impressive. We enjoyed a couple of quizzes too and won a bottle of champagne.
We did not eat in the restaurant but we stayed for their weekly barbeque and enjoyed it.It was 12 euros (£8.40) for adults and 6 euros (£4.20) for children. You got alot of meat, pasta, salad, half litre of sangria and fruit cocktail.
There is a supermarket within the complex and although there was not a great deal of choice it is quite cheap.
Overall we had a brilliant holiday, I doubt I would revisit as I don't believe in going back to the same place.
I would certainly recommend it to families!

The Dunas Caleta resort is great if you really do want to relax, sit by the pool, have a drink and occasionally go in for a swim.
Although we only ate in the restaurant a couple of times it was very good.
The resort is located close to the Corralejo town center. 5/10 minutes walk. You are about 10/15 minutes from the main beach in Corralejo.
The resort staff are great; they try hard at all the things they have to do. The entertainment was also very good. Gary the resident entertainer tried extremely hard to keep everyone happy.
I would love to visit this resort again.

| said: We stayed at the Dunas last year and found the resort to be exceptionally clean, but a word of warning - don't come out of your room until after 8.30, otherwise there is a distinct smell, which can make you heave at times. We were on the 1st floor and the terraces were fine - nice for sitting late at night.
Entertainment was reasonable. The only real pain was the entertainer. We were subjected to his really annoying voice every night, plus a whole host of childrens songs, the main one being 'The Court of King Caracatus' which my daughter loved but after 14 nights of this, along with 'Star Trekking', it was a bit much to say the least. If you like pub quizzes, karaoke, magic shows and lizzards, enjoy!!
Food was plain and simple but nice and well priced. Brekkies were nice but avoid the beans! Chefs got the orders wrong a couple of times and two couples were overcharged by a large amount of money, so check your change!
Very clean hotel - maids came every other day and made beds, and even tidied up all my make-up nice and neat. all linen and towels changed. No washing up liquid supplied though!
My sister's window was broken when we arrived and despite reporting it 3 times, nothing was done and we gave up. Propped closed at night by a broom!
Pool was cleaned every day and terraces were spotless. only one day when some tiles came loose in the pool and 4 children cut their feet (my daughter included). Plenty of sun loungers too.
From our room, we had a fab view of one of the massive volcanoes - awesome.
No security on doors as such, just a basic key to open - we saw police on the sight twice - break-ins.

The staff are very friendly and helpful.
The cleanliness of the apartments was good.
Gary et al tried their best to entertain us - difficult when you have so many ages there at one time.
Pool is very cold but that was due to cold winds at night time - so couldn't be helped.
To improve the apartments I would recommend some more maintenance is done just to bring up appearance of some areas - such as paint coming off some walls, some rust on our fridge. Other point would be to change doors as they are not very secure and not double glazed - some noise coming from main road traffic - but not terribly so.
Entertainment went on until about 12 - but was never overly noisy.
My daughter and I were unfortunate enough to have to visit the medical centre - but can highly recommend the service we got from the Medical Centre just across main road from Dunas Caleta.
We enjoyed our holiday apart from me having a bad ear infection but I coped and managed to get in the pool.
The entertainment was quite good but I think they should have had three professional shows a week.
A nice place but the only way I can describe the island, meaning the ground, is dry!
A good holiday!!!!!!!!!!!!

The apartments are the usual but could have been cleaner. Maid didn't clean everyday and floors were always dirty but I think only I noticed (A Mum thing!)
Loads of clean towels and bedding.
Entertainment provided by Gary (from Fife)& Nicky was perfect for children especially our 3 & 2 year olds. Mini disco every night and I am still singning 'Star Trekking' on a regular basis! Thomsons childrens reps were great and 'Spike' seems to be a hit with all the kids.
Fab place for a relaxed holiday, close to resort centre/harbour - will definately be back next March!

| said: I probably expected too much from this hotel after all the ratings from the holiday truth sites.
Overall looking back it did come up to expectations, and I think we was there at the wrong weeks, Gary was on holiday for his second week, and the bar manager lost some of his bar staff, and run out of some of the drinks behind the bar, on some nights
The site was very clean although there was a smell of sewerage, which I finally put down to the plant watering system that runs around the hotel.
The pool was cold, but once you were in, it was OK, best go swimming later in the day after the sun has warmed it up.
Only had one meal in the restaurant as the main restaurant was being decorated, this was not a major problem as the bar snacks during the day were fine, and their is about 5 million restaurants within a 1 minute walk.
The water park was no where near finished, and July opening is very very unlikely, I guess it will be nearer Xmas before it opens.
Anyway thats all the negatives, here is the positive, would I go back, YES, tomorrow if I could, and more than likely to the same hotel.
Best family resort I have stayed in EVER.

| said: This hotel was brilliant we have stayed in this hotel 4 times in the last 2 years and would definately go back there again. We went half board, we thought that we made a good choice, which we did, as the food was exellent with a large variety of what you wanted to eat, if you didn't like what was on offer you could order whatever you wanted and they would bring it from the bar. The value for money was brilliant. The hotel was cleaned every other day by the maids who kept the apartments looking spotless there was always clean towels. All the staff in the hotel were brilliant the reception staff were all english so there was no worries about them not understanding and they were so friendly. The rep was friendly and was always there if she was needed and tried her ahrdest to sort problems out. The entertainment crew Nicky and Gary were great they kept adults and children amuses 24/7. All the children loved them as they followed them around all the time especcially gary. The bar staff were gr8 2 they were frendly and worked very ahrd especially at night when the bar area was full and evryone wanted drinks they were running around so much. The kids club reps were brilliant they kept the children occupied all through the day children aged between 3 and 12 could join and there were three different age groups tots for aged 3-5, team aged 6-8 and tribe aged 9-12. the kids club was running all through the day and they also had a night club for all groups from 7.30 till 9 so the children still ahd time to go into the bar area to do the kiddies disco with nicky and gary and to watch the professional show. The kiddies disco was on every night of the week, where the kids danced to all the songs and there was also a professional show or quiz on after. The pool was brilliant and there was also another pool in the hotel next door which you were aloud to use because they were the same owners this hotel is the Los Alisios. They ahd lots of facilities and games to keep teenagers and children occupied throught the day, there is a games room, with uinternet n air hockey n more, two tennis courts, 2 pool tables, kiddies park and table tennis, there is also and kiddies part of the pool. Gray and nicky put on a lot of games to amuse the teenagers and adults such as water polo, football tennis, rifle shooting and killer pool. there is also a library open everyday of the wk where you can borrow books or sun lotion. You can also enjoy a free volcano walk experience with Gary. This hotel is excellent and i would recomend it if you like a nice relaxing family holiday.

Our rooms were clean and comfortable but the doors were very easy to get into which concerned us but we had no incidents.
At the back of our apartments there was an awful sewage smell, although the apartments were kept clean by the maids.
The location was ok for the shops but you have to get a bus to the beach and when we were there we got sand blasted as it was so windy.
We did have a good holiday but this was mainly due to the entertainment staff as without Gary and his team the hotel would be nothing!!!

Very clean and we arrived at night and got a welcome pack of water, tea, and bread.
We felt it was a bit busy with kids running around, but then my kids loved it, so if they are happy then we were happy.
Gary is a complete looney tune, but super entertainer, so again kids happy.
A lot of building work going on outside our apartments and although rep helpful, staff not really interested and in my opinion were a bit rude when we complained. I escalated this to Thompson direct and the work was stopped until we left. They did give us compensation so no complaints really.
Basically if you have young kids, go to the Dunas Caleta!

| said: Well what can I say, Dunas Caletas was the best holiday I remember, I am a young adult, and traveled with my mother and two younger siblings.
We all agreed it was a great holiday, in particular the hotel and its staff.
The food offered at the hotel is diverse from restaurant, to take away. Whichever suits your needs.
The overall cleanliness was good, no issues that I can recall worth any concern.
The hotel is situated on a side road, from which all the restaurants and souvenir shops are based on. It’s very well placed, the beach is a 5 minute walk but due to it being rather rocky, we opted to stay around the pool mostly. The hotel has a lovely pool area, just the right size for the hotel capacity.
Gary is legendary as the entertainer, very enthusiastic and likeable. He is great with kids, and equally as good at playful banter with the adults. We went two years running with the same crowd because we enjoyed ourselves so much.
If I were to sum up these apartments, it would be: Fantastic family hotel, relaxed, friendly and pretty.
Great staff and wholly memorable.
