| said: The apartments are perfectly located, within a 2 minute walk to the beach. Views are fantastic looking across Los Lobos and Lanzarote. Stayed here about five years ago, now looking run down and in need of some attention. Apartments cleaned twice during a weeks stay could do with daily cleaning. All facilities in the apartments were in good working order.
However be aware we interupted a burgular who climbed onto the balacony at 5.00am trying to gain access to our bedroom! From this night onwards we did not feel safe and would have welcomed a security guard being on site.

| said: We have stayed in these apartments at least four or five times over the past four years.
The Caleta Playa apartments are within 100 meters of the beach and are kept to a high standard of cleanliness. Renee and her team in Reception and the maid service are both very pleasant helpful and efficient. Peter and Lorraine are also pleasant and very helpful.
Whilst it is acknowledged locally that there is a problem with burglaries and that Caleta Playa have had more than their fare share, ourselves included, it is essential to keep the doors locked fully when you are out (do not leave on safety chain) and all valuables in the safe. Common sense prevails!

Having arrived for only 5 hours we were awoken by not 'santa' but the local burglar entering our bathroom - thanks to Spanish build quality the curtain pole woke me up as it clattered to the floor Not wanting to panic my children and spouse I asked my fellow residents if this was a 'one off ' but alarmingly it was a nightly occurrence and had resulted in temporay barricades been made from the fitted kitchen and my son's buggy. Needless to say sleep was short on supply for two weeks - shame as we had visited the apartments before without incident and had a great time!! Would definitely stay again if they had security. only thing that spoilt an otherwise lovely holiday.

Needs a lick of paint, but everything worked, full bath every evening and a hot shower every morning, somewhere to make a cuppa and somewhere to sit out and have a sangria. I was worried about the security having read the reviews, but they seem to be sorted now with a new night watchman, plus a bit of common sense.

If you cannot find your safe in the morning it will be on the beach, due to the excessive amount of break ins (11 in 3 nights) after all night vigile (where we were told to not stay in these as they were easy to break in to) we moved out at expense to ourselves.

The reason I say this is because the amount of break ins they have is epidemic. I wish I had gone with a few mates and not my family as we would have enjoyed staying up all night and catching the robbers who arrive every night between 2.am and 7.am.
We left 7 days early and booked into another complex at our own expense but at least we enjoyed the rest of our holiday.

| said: Arrived at 5.00pm 23 rd Dec reception closed, collected keys from a restaraunt underneath complex.
Apartment basic but very clean. Patio door didn't lock but there were bars on the outside. Our first night we got visited twice 2.00am and 6.00am by unwanted guests. Management seemed to think this was very strange, but after talking to other guests it seemed to be the norm.
We rented 3 apartments between us. The stories we were hearing were shocking to say the least, 1 woman with a Morrocan gentlemen stood over her in her bedroom.
A couple of nights into the holiday guests themselves formed a vigalante group including male members of our party, taking watch just so they were sure that their children and wives were safe to sleep.
This was meant to be a holiday it more like a nightmare on elm street. After 4 days we decided to check out. I wouldn`t go back if it was FREE!
All this complex needed was 24 hour reception and security.

Peter and Lynn at the pool bar were very good. Lynn's kareoke was very good but the jury is still out on Peter?
My one big big complaint is the security on the complex. there is none, in the 9 days we were there 12 challets were broken into and money passports and jewellery stolen. At the time we were there several of the men formed a vigilante group and took it in turns to patrol at night so as the women folk could sleep at night with out fear.
but because of this reason threee familys left the site and myself and the wife returned home three four days early. So for this reason I would say give this place a wide berth.

| said: If you are thinking of staying at these apartments our serious advice is DON'T.
We arrived at our apartment early afternoon and initial impressions were good. We immediately dropped our bags and headed for the pool bar to relax and get into holiday mode. We were really disappointed by the welcome we got from the staff, who quite frankly gave the impression that they couldn't be bothered with us. Not quite the start we had expected!!!
The apartments are OK, but basic. They are on a split level, so it like moving into a little house. The apartment was clean, but basic especially in the lounge. The furniture was OK but I wouldn't fancy trying to sleep on the sofa as the padding was not the best.
The bedroom was reasonable and we couldn't fault the beds which were very comfortable. It was great to have two toilets, one upstairs and one downstairs, but we did later discover there were problems with the downstairs toilet.... it didn't work and also with the water supply for the shower as it only operates at full pressure for certain allocated times and the water temperature varies.
The location was good, but without any security and we discovered on our second day that there were very serious problems with regular break-ins occurring. Most of these were through the bathroom window and when people were sleeping.
If anyone is seriously considering staying at these apartments please consider the break-ins and your own safety.
The safety deposit boxes which you are charged for are a waste of time as they are only secured onto the shelf within the wardrobe and the thieves know how to rip them off very easily as they are fixed to chip board. On top of all of this the thieves will also take your clothes and leave you with nothing other than what you are wearing as other guest found out.
We were due to stay for two weeks but left after our third night due to the constant break-ins and concerns for our safety, as was the case with several other holiday makers.
Another point worth mentioning is that throughout the three days we stayed at these apartments we were unable to use the pool as there was loud maintenance works going on around pool bar due to blocked pipes.

Accommodation is basic but clean.
Whilst there is no real entertainment, enjoy the 'entertainment' around the pool bar, run by Lorraine & Pete, who give a very warm welcome. (Good pool party Pete - thanks!) Serve good food and do a good sausage barm. Enjoy Petes cocktails, but pace yourself! Lorraine and Pete 'are' Caleta Playa!
We were there for our 2nd time, and we will be going again and again.
All maids had a smile for us and did a good job. Reception is extremely helpful and will give helpful advice.
Brill!!

We found these apartments dark and depressing and in need of some serious work done on them.
The maid came in just four times in two weeks - to change the towels three times and the beds once.
When she did clean, it was around a pair of shoes and the furniture. She didn't move anything !!
The staff just didn't want to know.
We definately won't be staying here again.

| said: We have just returned from a wonderful two weeks stay at these apartments.
The weather was brilliant.
We stayed in a two bedroom first floor apartment overlooking the beach, the location of which could not be bettered. The Apartment itself was very spacious and had everything that you would require for a two week holiday. The kitchen area was small but adequate, if you were planning on cooking a full meal, I think you would find it quite difficult (although I did look at next doors and there's was larger) but as I am holiday and with the range of restaurants to go to I do not do cooking!!!!
I was a little disturbed by past reports posted regarding security, I think that you must be extremely vigilant on holiday as you would be at home.
It is very easy to go out and leave a door or window open because of the heat and also because you think that it will be safe as you have the protection of the extra security grills. Whilst I was there I heard of no break-ins and when I went out and whilst we were in bed we made sure all our windows and doors were securely double locked.
For ventilation we hired a fan which was cheap at 12 euros for the week.
We travelled with two teenagers and found the bedroom arrangements excellent, although I could imagine that if you had small children it may be a little difficult. The bedrooms are split by an internal outside patio area and the second bedroom is completely seperate to the rest of the apartment, the use of the bathroom is accessed however through the first bedroom.
Overall I would recommend these apartments to anyone, just the location outways any downsides.
We are definitely returning as soon as possible!

| said: These apartments are perfectly placed right beside the beach. They are in front of the very expensive Atlantis Palace hotel. They are a bit dated internally some might say scruffy but at their price point it is had to ask for a better location.
My wife and I stayed for 1 week and had no dealings with any of the reception or bar staff other than picking up and leaving off our keys. The maids where very good and the room was cleaned regularly sheets changed etc.
The real secret to staying here is to book the double bedroom apartments, I think they have 4 or 5. These are on the first floor over looking the beach and all have massive balconies.
If my kids where still young I think I would go somewhere with a kids club however if your kids are old enough to be trusted on the beach or to walk around the town on there own then it would be hard to ask for a budget holiday.

Peter, whom runs the bar is very helpful. Security is difficult as the main path to the beach runs though the center of the complex. I had a laptop/cash stolen, all insured, so no problem, just LOCK UP when you go out/sleep.
All in all well priced, good location and helpful staff.

Nno matter how much the good reports outweigh the bad. In the two weeks that we stayed, our appartment and next doors apartment were broken into, and we have heard stories about other such break ins. It ruined our holiday, and the staff and police did little to help.
Cleaning service was good, and the apartment was quite spacious and clean, albeit the trail of ants that we shared the apartment with.
The apartments are not at all secure, and it is quite obvious that people frequently attempt to enter the appartments (it has been said that people have even been seen walking around the complex checking doors and windows), and so I would strongly advise not to stay here.We never felt safe, and it ruined the holiday.
With execption of one receptionist, the staff were unfriendly too. And for those of you coming with small children, the babies pool was very unclean and unhygenic.

Our apartment was situated around the pool and was on two levels, very spacious and with large terrace to sit out on. The only problem was the beds, I found them very uncomfortable, the worst I have have ever slept on.
The pool bar is nice and is open to whenever they want to shut, it is run by a very friendly English couple, Pete is great and makes a lovely sangria, you must try. The receptionist is lovely and has a gorgeous bulldog puppy called Udo.
The cleaners came everyday and we were never in short supply of toilet rolls/towels. The great thing was there was a full bathroom upstairs, bath/toilet/bday/shower and a separate wash room downstairs so great for 2 people.

| said: Just returned from these apartments, its the second time we have visited. We booked every thing through the internet and it could'nt have been easier..
The room we booked were the two bedroomed apartments overlooking the sea/beach... While these were basic inside there was everything that you needed(microwave, kettle, toaster etc.)
We went for a week and in that time the cleaners visited 3 times and changed the bedding twice, the receptionists could not have been more helpful and the poolside bar owners could not have been more friendly.
With us overlooking the beach most of our time during the day was spent there but when we got fed up with this we usually retired to the pool for a quick swim and a round of drinks...
As regards visiting these apartments again we are already in the process of organising our next visit for the same time next year...In the words of my mother in law this was the best holiday she has ever had hopefully next year will be the same..
If there was a downside to this holiday it was that we only went for 7 days not two weeks.

| said: We stayed at the Caleta Playa apartments in Correlejo in October 2005 and after reading reports on internet sites like this were dubious about where we had booked but no realise that these were completely unfounded.
When we got there we found the rooms were extremely clean and spacious, all linen changed every day and the rooms cleaned every other day, plenty of sunbeds round the clean pool area and the staff helpful and useful.
While sat round the pool area one evening we met other holidaymakers who had all visited the apartments before and would not stay anywhere else - we would now agree with them!
The apartments are well situated in Correlejo and right on the beach which is not very picturesque but if you are beach lovers then get yourselves a car which is relatively cheap for the week (about £90 for six days) and travel round the coast road of the island to see the fantastic beaches.

The pool apartments are the best as they are larger & seem to be more secure.
We stayed in the sea view apartments and didn't have any security issues. Maid service 5 times a week. Facilities for cooking include plenty of crockery, cutlery & glasses. Fridge, 2 ring hob, kettle, toaster & microwave. Fans can be rented from reception.
There's a pool bar with friendly staff serving drinks and snacks. Pool area is always clean with plenty of sunbeds.
Staff are always friendly although reception isn't open on Sundays but there's always someone on hand for arrivals.
Apartments are situated right on the beach and a short 5 minute walk into town.
We wouldn't stay anywhere else.

We found at least 2 each day. We also had a problem with worms in our bath. I marked the bedsheets and found that the maids were turning the sheets from end to end rather than fitting clean ones.
Every meal was eaten out as we felt the apartment wasn't clean enough to prepare food in.
The location is wonderful set right on a sandy beach and minutes away from shops and restuarants. Two nights before we came home our apartment was burgled while we were asleep in our beds. The staff were quite helpful even giving us a can of cockroach spray when we complained.
There is no entertainment at all here. Correlajo is beautiful these apts are NOT.

We stayed in a one bedroom apartment which was located next to the pool and sun bathing area, so you could have you doors open to the apartment and be sunbathing right outside. Just the job when my son was inside having a nap in the afternoon I could still be out in the sun.
In february the temperature was great. Childrens splash pool a big disappointment about a metre in diametre and 3 inches deep. The bar out by the pool was efficient and good value.
On the down side security was a big issue when we were there. Several apartments burgled, the windows are not very secure at all. Definately hire the safe.
The rooms were quite damp and looked a bit shabby. We did look into relocating to another hotel/ apartment but decided the location was too good and couldn't be bothered with the hassle and extra charges to move.
We would go back if we could get a room in the circle around the pool and if the rooms had been tarted up a bit.

| said: Firstly I must say we didn't pay much for this holiday (650 pounds approx) as it was last minute. When we arrived we thought it was amazing we were taken past lots of other appartments down to the beach and ours was a huge 2 bedroom apartment with only a large patio area and small wall separating us from the sand! - Looked amazing! On closer inspection of the apartment it was very damp with mouldly patches and dark (huge though!) However when you have paid as little we thought we didn't really have the right to grumble so got on with enjoying the holiday and the fantastic location.
UNTIL one evening whilst sitting enjoying a game of cards and glass of wine a cockroach bigger than a 50 pence piece dropped from the ceiling towards us!! (we had previously spotted all the plug in insect repellents but thought the staff had put them their as a precaution.. The cockroaches just dropped out of some sort of ventilation system in the ceiling quite reguarly too (although that was the biggest we saw).
Needless to say we didn't spend that much time in the apartments and wrapped ourselves in sheets at night! However the location was pretty amazing so I suppose you can't expect everything for a next to nothing price!
Would go back to Correlejo as we enjoyed some lovely meals in the town and of course the sunshine.
Just to add - the appartments around the pool looked quite nice and not at all like the beach front ones!

| said: I went to Caleta Playa last year and it was great.
The cleaning staff were amazing we made so much mess went go out and it would look like when we got there again, nice and tidy. The view from our room was great looking out at the sea and lobos.
The pool was small but still great.
The bar at the pool was run by a great bloke from England who serves lots of nice food and alcoholic beverages.
I wanted to go back this year but couldn’t.
Make sure you take a mosquito repellent as there are lots around the beach at nights.
All the other bad comments were not true for me. I saw no cockroaches all the time I was there apart from 1 in Lanzerote. Tthere was no mould in my apartment.
This place is right on the beach and is ideal for anyone kids to teens to old folks
