The La Vallette complex has an ideal location near all major amenities and enjoys beautiful sea views. Close to the lively nightlife and a great selection of shops, restaurants and bars, the complex is also only 250m from the gently shelving beach at St George's Bay. Please note: due to its location some disco and road noise will be heard.

This hotel was certainly not clean, all electricial goods need to be renewed as does the toilet, no shower. sheets with holes in them, walls all covered with stains. No teatowels, no toaster, really is not suitable for a holiday. We were told it was apartments it certainly was not that just a studio,
we had friends who got another room and couldnt live with the noise, really not properly run.
The whole building needs to be refurbished.
When you come in the front door the foyare is beautiful, pity the rest of the Resort is not the same.

Hotel generally unclean.

Cooker in room dirty, balcony unswept. Dining room dismall, like a school canteen only dirty. The food was absolutely dismal and when we complained we were shouted at by the resteraunt manager.

We spent most of our time out as the description in the brochure was not what we found at all.the maltese people are on the whole nice but with this experience I definitely will not be returning and in no way recommed it to others

I will never ever come to this hotel again. The second I walked into my hotel I was welcomed by a big lump of hair on the bathroom floor, even though my partner and I couldn't go into our room for 3 hours as it was being "cleaned". Making my way into the bedroom area the fan on the ceiling is half hanging off, the floor is filthy and the mirrored area full of dirt. At night time some Italians decided it'd be funny to ring the phone at 4,5 and 6 in the morning also they found it funny to wake up the whole corridor by screaming when coming home from going out. Next morning we immediately went downstairs and asked for a refund as we were not satisfied. They tried all they could so they didn't give our money back so we agreed to moving rooms, only to be told they would move us next door to where we were before. Pointless!!

After disagreeing they agreed to move us to another floor and I must say this room was an improvement but not much.

This hotel is dirty dirty dirty and I advise nobody to stay there. It's a waste of money!!

Stayed at La Vallette Resort, Malta.

This felt more like budget style accomadation not three star. Extremely basic and in need of updating.

Sheets holey, towels thin (only bath towels provided). No toaster, only basic two ring stove and grill that took 20 mins to heat up. No handle on grill pan, no tea towel or oven glove provided. No hooks to hang clothes. Felt old and grubby. Bathroom old, crudely repaired tiles, plastic hose style shower, no wall hook or shower curtain.

Only positive thing to say was that the apartment was spacious. If we ever go to Malta again would definately pay more and go 4 or 5 star.

I stayed in La Vallette Resort St Julians.

Yes the noise on the side where all the bars were was very noisy but the side were the pool was, was very quite.

The hotel was basic but clean. We were self catering but were able to make food because you had hot plates and an oven.

This hotel is filthy and very, very noisy. The music from the bar below continues until about 5am every morning. It may be suitable for a Club 18 - 30 holiday but not for anybody else.

We had to move rooms twice due to noise levels. We ended up on the 9th floor with the lifts hardly ever working. The reception staff agreed that the hotel was very poor.

Entertainment was appalling and food basic.

The rooms were brushed each day but I don't think the floor was ever cleaned.

My advice would be to get the bus and see some of the other places in Malta which are far nicer.

Spinola Bay is only 10 minutes walk away if you want a meal in a lovely setting - very reasonably priced too.

We have been to Malta before and would go again, but we would not go anywhere near St Julian's Bay and especially this hotel.

I traveled to Malta for a friends wedding with my 2 year old son. They were in 4* and 5* accommodation which made my days happy as I could visit them and stay at their pools.

After booking this hotel I read some comments on this site and got very nervous. I tried to change hotels before I left home but was told that Airtours had not had complaints about the hotel. I took a chance and wished I had not! When we arrived the room was not clean, after 45 mins sat by the pool with pushchair and suitcase we finally entered a room with no towels,a swept but dirty floor, a fridge that did not shut and one out of two beds not change.

I had to stay as the meeting with the rep was in the morning, so we attempted to sleep later that night. This was impossible because of the pool entertainment till midnight (great with a two year old), the heat (the fan is useless – air conditioning is necessary as the rooms are facing the sun all day) and of the noisy Italians who would shout – not speak - day and night through the corridors, wedge doors open to make more noise and slam doors until the early hours.

I was told I was in the best room in the hotel, at the front of the hotel you had nightclub and bar music till the early hours! I saw the rep after the first night, and by then I had made some attempts myself to move to a different hotel. I asked him to get prices on the hotels in which the other wedding guests were in but he said they would be expensive and offered me a hotel in another resort (which I had already told him was not an option as I was alone with a child and would be too far away from the wedding party) or I could move to the sister hotel ‘St Georges Park’. I did this which gave me a slightly better room, a little cleaner and towels !

Noise levels were exactly the same and many times I called the reception to get security to come to my floor. The other foreign guests were also rude and made me feel intimidated, many times I was waiting for a lift with the pushchair and the doors would open and then someone from inside would press the button so I could not get in.

There were few English people here and everyone English that I spoke to was complaining about the same things. There were no hotels with accommodation for the full remaining 6 nights for me to move to. It ruined a lovely holiday and wedding and I would strongly advise anyone thinking of going to La Vallette or St Georges Park to think again.

Unless you are single and happy to be out until 5am – do not stay at this hotel. It is not a family hotel and should never be classed as one.

this is our first visit to malta.we stayed at the la valette hotel i st juliens.having read previous reviews by other guests we were abit wary of staying in this hotel but desided to make the most of it.Boy were we shocked, our room was on the 9th floor facing sun-rise.The room comprised of two dirty beds, dirty curtains, dirty floor and a really dirty bathroom. On the second day the electricity went off in the room, the only thing keeping the room below 100f even at night was a noisy ceiling fan so you can imagine how hot the room was!!The management were unconcerned and i was told it may come back on in a couple of hours(eight hours later). The toilet had no water to flush it for three days. The food is alright if you like pasta seemed more to cater for the italian guests(noisy italian guests). The reception staff have no manners what to speak of and were very rude at times.Don`t hand your key into reception if you go out as it can take upto half an hour to get back.Malta as a holiday island is fantastic but find another hotel to stay at unless you are 18-25.This holiday wasn`t cheap as we paid over 900 pounds for a weeks holiday. We would stay Anywhere else on the island definately not the la valette resort.

I visited the La Villette resort in July 2004. Prior to the holiday I checked it for reviews on here and my gosh did it raise concern. By then it was too late to cancel though.

When we arrived the reception area looked rather shabby and the flooring was cheap lino which did not give a good impression.

The staff were not very helpful but I held my head up and tried to ignore my anxieties.

The rooms though were absolutely foul and so hot with no air conditioning (only the useless fans).

The noise was a disgrace which we were never warned about. Music, shouting and banging could be heard till dawn with the locals on drunken rampages.

The food was ok but nothing to rave about and the grounds were in need of repair.

As well there was a large family who were in the next room playing music all night and acting disorderly under the influence of alcohol. One night I even found them doing a oujie board outside!

To give you my advice DO NOT GO TO THIS HOTEL as this was with no doubt the worst holiday I have ever experienced!

IWe love Malta and have been there on several occassions previously and would certainly go again however, this is one hotel that I would not stay in. They could not pay me enough to stay. The hotel from the outside looked okay, the reception area was a bit shabby but the rooms were absolutely disgusting. We have stayed in 3 star accommodation before but this hotel left a great deal to be desired. Before leaving we left a three page letter of complaint to the hotel manager.
This is the first time we have been to self catering accommodation where you were expected to clean the rooms before you could use them, I had to go out on the day we arrived and buy cleaning products to try and clean the rooms up a little bit.

We ate out all the time because if the kitchen was anything like the rooms.... well it doesn't bear thinking about!

There was very little equipment in the rooms not enough wardrobe/drawer space and if you were brave enough to try and use the cooking facilities there were hardly any cooking utensils. Oh yes and you cannot use the large ring and oven at the same time as it short circuits the electric. There is also no information in the rooms about this or any other of the hotel 'facilities', many of which are a waste of time. There was no mop or brush in the rooms to clean the floors with. The bedding was often holed and the top covers were covered with cigarette burns. The sofa that was supposed to be a thrid bed was certainly not made for an adult to sleep on. The covers of the sofa were ripped. The mattresses on the beds should have been discarded a long time ago. The curtains would not stay on the rails. Within the first 24 hours of arriving we had more faults than I could post on this page.

If you take a bath or shower beware as the floors are prone to being soaked with water and the tiles are slippery (no warning signs of this).

The pool (if you could to it as it was often packed with local people) was covered with grit on the bottom, and that was first thing in the morning when it was supposed to have been cleaned. There are also no depth markings on the pool so if you are not a good swimmer tread carefully as the pool depth is extremely deceiving. There was vomit on the sunbeds by the pool (someone had obviously been unwell). People on the floors above us took great pleasure in throwing items off the balconies onto the pavement below.

If anybody has booked this hotel I would recommend that they alter their accommodation. The hotel was certainly not for families, it was a doss house. This hotel certainly put a damper on our holiday.

We complained to our rep, tried to move accommodation and put in a written complaint followed by a lengthy report with photographs to the holiday company, but as yet they have not even bothered to acknowledge our complaint.

Anyone thinking of going here would be advised to think twice and save their money because it certainly is not worth it.

Oh and if you do decide to go here and then find that it is not up to expectations beware because if you try to change rooms the hotel will charge you around £40 for this priviledge.

Hi
Well what can I say but unless your between 18-25 please use a different hotel. The hotel was in a bril location and in easy reach of bars and rest and I dont think there was any noise from them the begist problem was the Italian young men they swing from balcony 2 balcony from 2-30ish till 5-30 ish the managment are FULLY awear of this as it happends every year when the Italians have their main brake which the manager explained to myself went on from july-august.

When we booked our trips across the road from the Hotel they also told us it happens every year. That also brokr the lifts at least every night and in the day once, banged the doors so hard my son fell out of bed (we had to pad the floor with blankets), shouted in our faces and at each other as that went anywhere. We go abroad every year corfu, majorca,Ibiza.cyprus and never have I felt so unsafe as I did without a man by myside intimadation is a word I would use.

my son is 14 my mother is 68 and I'm 43 (and still enjoy night clubing)so we are a very wide age span but were not old foddodies infact my mum still works fulltime. We arrived at 2am so didn't see our rep infact our rep ( someone said thay were sure he was our rep)we only bumbed into quite by chance on the steps of the hotel the uniform gave it away, we got his welcome note 5 hours after the meeting. He lost out though as we booked 4 trips.

Our rep ( I must stop saying that )the airtours rep did send us a note saying he needed to see us about our return flight(praying oh god please let us go home early)but no he wanted us to go to the sister hotel just to tell us that nothing had changed.

Leaving the appartment had become a daylie task as the lifts were being broken every morning about 3-6 am and we were 3 flights up which is 6 sets of stairs.I carn't say anymore i work with 11-18 year old young people as a job and realy love it and have never experenced this.

We booked a 2 bedroomed apartment, and had heard la vallette had been refurbished(rubbish). The room was disgusting, curtains were dirty and hanging of the rails the toilet and the bath were rusty and the smell was appaling we had one linen change in 2 weeks and we had to ask for that.
Also no towels were put in the room unless you asked for them, phone that didnt work and sockets that were hanging of the walls ect.

This is not my first visit to malta i have been coming for over 20 year and by no stretch of the imagination was this a 3 star accomadation we stayed in the san anton last year and the year before. The standards were outstanding food 5 star and the rooms checked and cleaned every 2 days with linen changes so i expected the same at la vallette this wasnt the case.
Dont expect any help from the management as they dont want to know dont book this place unless you want 1-2 star accomadation to my knowledge these are owned by the same people san anton/la vallette night and day the only thing in it favor it is central if you dont want to sleep go there it is ideal.

Me and my cousin stayed on the ninth floor, lifts worked fine except one day where a group got stuck for less than five minutes. My friends sister was on the seventh floor self catering but due to mix up her and the 4 kids were placed on 7th floor.

Didnt really have breakfast because wasnt awake that time in the morning so took full advantage of fridge and ate from there. Room was cleaned either every day or every other day but very thoroughly especially as we were very messy people, well you dont go on holiday to tidy up!

The dining area was spotless and the meals could have been better, as our holiday ended there were chips available. Meat was excellent free drink for half board. The staff were polite and friendly bar people were nice, currency booth was disappointing as it was rarely open and you had to wait a long time for service when it was.

The entertainment could definately be improved there was none during the day except for the games room next to the pool but with four children my cousin found it too expensive. Evening entertainment was mainly focused on the older clientele who gave very disapproving looks when the kids joined in or won at the evening bingo game, that took place every night from 7 till 9 when the evening entertainment began. Elvis impersonater, country singer, blues singer, all not too fantastic.

The 24hour play group or simiarly named were good with their audience involvement, teaching dances e.g. cha cha, slide and doing mimed singing dressed as Tina Turner etc, the group did intervals with a dance couple who were ok.

Some nights the poolside bar had a karaoke but the club reps and the bar crawlers got main priority. Alternatively you can go next door to St Georges complex for their entertainment which is different to La Vallette. One night there was a good karaoke with prizes for best and worst singer, the worst appeared to be the judges son.

Majority of the hotel guests were German and not too friendly splashing everything around the pool without any regard for others. School trip arrived with thirty or so german teenagers also fairly arrogant taking up all sunbeds but spacing out so you could not get a few next to each other. None of the pool bars were open, neither were the poolside toilets. None of the pubs or bars welcomed children so we were limited to the hotel complex.

There was a manmade beach being built as we left Malta this would have made our stay much better as we were so far from the other man made beach.

I wouldnt visit this hotel again because of its location away from beaches and the entertainment was dull.

I've been to this hotel a few times and also stayed at the sister hotel st georges park and looking at those reviews i'd like to know how much these people paid??

Firstly... You get what you pay for, If you pay 3 star prices then surprise suprise you'll get 3 star accommodation!

Secondly if you let the maids know whats wrong they will do it for you and i mean anything! from toilet paper to cleaning the littles hard to reach thing.

Yes the lifts are a little mad when they'll work sometimes and the next you take them you could end up on any floor it likesbut its part of the charm of the place, treat it like a lottery and make a game out of it that should make it more fun.

The only problem i had is the hotel staff probably wasn't hard enough on about 100 rioting Italians who got every pan in the room took to the balconey and waged war on all the other Italians in the surrounding hotels (first i thought it may be about football but after checking all the channels on TV i couldn't find any only to learn later on that the match was 4 hours away!) and the fact that they ended up putting bins, plants and even a fridge in the lift, and ringing everyones room when they got in from a night out, now i really like the Italians but even this got to me.

Don't get a pool view if you want to sleep early evening before going out as the hotel entertainment play music from 6 through to 2ish.

Don't get a sea view if you want to sleep in the morning as you'll be above the Bamboo Bar which is a great out door bar but you'll be able to hear bottle collection in the morning. stick to the road view and you'll be able to watch the street fill up with everyone out enjoying themselves as your partner/friends get ready for the night ahead.

Hotel was clean and friendly. Entertainment was limited in the hotel, mainly poolside entertainment. Food was average, buffet style although you could order seperate meals for the children, drinks were not included with the meals and it was so warm in the dinning room that we spent a fortune on drinks during meal times, which were not cheap. It made me laugh when i read the last review that mentioned the lifts, it brought back memories, youd press the floor number you wanted and it was a lucky dip what floor you actually ended up on and how many stops it made before you actually got to the floor youd pressed, there are four lifts and when a lift does come there is nothing to indicate which lift is opening so you have to keep you eye on all four.

Hotel was practically right in the middle of the nightlife, bars and discos were all the locals go at weekends. Great if your single or part of a couple but not if you have children as there is no where to take them in the evening and you have to rely on the hotel entertainment. Music would often go on until 4 oclock in the morning and could be easily heard especially as it was so hot we had to sleep on the balcony as there was no air conditioning in the hotel. There would be people out cleaning early every morning but it didnt take long to get dirty especially as it was very very dusty. Main beach is rocky and not suitable for swimming, there is a very small beach nearby but you either had to go really early to get a space or later in the afternoon when people were going home. Although small it was a great beach as it was so level and didnt get to deep and the kids loved it because you could see the fish swimming around you.
