We stayed at the Georgia in Afandou and its the best holiday we have ever had sure the rooms are small in the older building but i defy anyone to show us better 3 star rooms/apartments than those poolside , the location is a bit out of the way but if you walk out of the back of the hotel turn left it is a 10 minuite walk to afandou with a lovely greek church along the way that you can go into and take a look .
The Staff were all friendly at the hotel and the other guest were warm and friendly we made many friends the pool is great the bar is cheap and the food is good, the entertaiment was good greek night with Crazy Billy doing the ring of fire dance , Karioake was a great night all in all a very good 3 star holiday would go back no problems .

Stayed first two weeks in June.Apartment on first floor overlooking the pool had a two bed apartment.Could not fault it bedding changed every other day and towels.Very friendly. I had booked this apartment to be near the golf course which it was. Only fault the walk to the beach is a good 15 mins away. Also if you like a bar on the beach it took us 50 mins to walk and there are only two bars on the whole beach.Very quiet and beautiful .The village is also very nice and very friendly and just a short walk away.Taxis I found to be very expensive but bus service brilliant and very friendly bus drivers.Falariki just next door to Afandou and nice sandy beach. The Golf Resteraunt execellent! The lamb in filo pastry wow what can I say.Beware of the main road very busy.Next to our apartments brill supermarket cheap as Asda with lovely freashly baked rolls.Only small supermarket but sold most things.Great place to stay just be prepared to walk to the beach. Also pool fab and bar around really nice.

We stayed at the Georgia Apts in June 06.

Looking at some some reviews they must be quite old. The apartments now have air con, albeit you pay a supplement for it, but worth every penny. It was 40+ some days! Yes, the location of the Georgia is a bit 'out of it'.

The walk to Afandou village would be fine if the temp was lower, but it was a lovely traditional Greek village with the square where locals all descend every evening to chat in the pavement bars.

The apartment was extremely large, 2double bedrooms, ample sized kitchen and big enough shower room. We found it to be cleaned every day were were there and towels were replenished if left on floor, so no complaints there.

We tended to go to Faliraki each evening as we were visiting family and there is more variety of evening entertainment. Taxis only cost between 5 and 8 euros each way.

Pool area very good and bar/restaurant reasonably priced and decent food. all in all, we found we got what we paid for.

Georgia Apartments is a family run hotel and offer a great greek theme in terms of the food the famous greek nights on a Friday. The rooms are basic but clean and what you need for a holiday. The apartments are 20 minute walk from Afandou town centre with a number of shops and bars.

I have been 3 times and have had a pleasent stay and made to feel very welcome and would recommend people to visit.

The food was fantastic and service was of the highest standard.

When we were dropped off at the Georgia, I thought I'd made a big mistake. It seemed to be in the middle of nowhere and the stairs to our apartment (which was on the top floor) were dangerously uneven and traveling alone with a child I was worried about him falling!

The room was basic but fairly roomy and clean. The only thing was our room was only cleaned once in the week we stayed there and our towels changed the same. However, when I read other reports the rooms were cleaned more frequently.

The hotel itself was nice enough and did have a family atmosphere. I didn't find the staff particularly friendly, but the people I met up with made up for this. As it is a fairly small hotel and pretty isolated, the people in the hotel were great - and everybody got to know practically everyone else. The kids also played together and there was a nice little park for them to play in as well as a games room which was basic but fine. The pool was lovely and cleaned every night.

The food in the hotel was basic - but nice. I would recommend the Georgia chicken - a beautiful cream, bacon and mushroom sauce over heaps of chicken, rice and chips - lovely. The Greek salad is also beautiful and the prices reasonable.

As before the hotel is a little isolated, but Afandou a lovely little village is about a 15 minute walk away. The road taking you there though was pretty dark and ran out of pavement in some parts but a taxi was about 5 Euros. Faliraki was also only a short distance away and this cost about 8 Euros.

Unfortunately because the end of season the Greek night was cancelled but I'd heard it was a great night. On a Tuesday though there was a Karaoke/Disco night and was great fun - for adults and kids.

My first impressions of the Georgia weren't good but after the first night there I met some great friends who were brilliant fun and it was an ideal place to relax and get away from it all. It’s ideal for young kids because it has a pool and a swing park - I hardly saw mine the week I was there and most importantly he loved it. It's also ideally situated away from the noise of Faliraki, but just 5 minute cab drive away if you want to go clubbing!

We stayed at these apartments in September 2004 and I had read some good reviews about it but I was terribly disappointed.

It’s in the middle of nowhere and buses seemed non-existent.

There was no lift and we were on the top floor which is not good when you've got two heavy cases.

The rooms well - small, and all you get is a fridge and a sink and a bit of worktop and two ring portable hob which looked rather manky. The bathroom was not good - the shower tray constantly leaked and the water did not drain into the grate on the lovely slippy floor! The bathroom I would say was a death trap! The cleanliness left a lot to be desired and the bedding want changed while we were there. I found the toilet disgusting - how demeaning and unhygienic to put your used toilet paper in an already overflowing bin that got emptied twice in a week - not pleasant. There’s no air conditioning so you need to hire a fan.

On the good side - the food is great and the drinks are cheap but make sure you keep all your receipts - we got accused of not paying for some drinks - we didn’t pick the receipt up off the bar!

The restaurant next door is pretty good but I preferred the food in the hotel.

It’s a fair walk into the centre of Afandou and there’s not much to do.

These apartments are fine if you know what to expect from Greek self-catering but, if you don't, find a nice hotel so that you don't get disappointed like we did. I felt we paid a lot of money out for the accommodation and I didn't feel that it was worth it.

When we first stepped off the coach I thought we had made a mistake, it seemed pretty remote and next to the main road.

The room was ground floor at the rear of the apartments, there was some traffic noise from the road to Afandou village which passes the veranda/balcony, mainly from clapped out mopeds and scooters.

The staff seemed friendly enough and the place was clean, with food at competitive rates.

If I had to grumble, it would be because of the lack of air conditioning in the rooms and the charges made to hire a room fan. We stayed the last 2 weeks in September and the temperature hit 115 so aircon is a necessity.

Car hire (fiat punto) with aircon was a good price from the village @ approx £16 per day. Because it had aircon I very nearly slept in it.

The pool is a good size and has a very small kiddie’s pool but it did tend to have too much chlorine and made your eyes smart a bit.

We were told that aircon is to be added to the rooms in time for the 2005 season so sleeping will be more comfortable.

There is a small kiddies area at the front of the complex but beware, it is next to the main road so parents with little ones will need to be vigilant!!.

We stayed at the Georgia apartments for two weeks.
It is a family run place, so every one was very friendly.

Even though we were self catering, the food was pretty cheap. We never had a bad meal all the time we were there. The rooms were kept spotless. The maid came in every day to change the bins, and the towels and bedding were changed twice a week.

The apartments are set on a hill so you get a lovely view all around you, although walking up the hill was a bit of a drag sometimes.

The staff were brilliant especially Lucas the son of the owner, and Panos the bar man. They made us feel like part of the family from day one.

There is not a lot of entertainment here except for the barbeque night on a Friday and bingo on a Tuesday.
Barbeque night is excellent you get your food first, and then they bring in a local Greek dancer who will get you all to join in the Greek dancing. Bingo night is also great fun because Lucas runs it, and over the years he has had all the bingo lingo off other holiday makers, and even though he speaks quite good English he does pronounce a lot of them wrongly which has every one in fits of laughter.

We are already planning our next holiday to this fantastic place.

Although this was a last minute booking, we knew the name of the accommodation and looked on the internet for other people's opinions. The web site indicated that the place was only a short way from both the beach, and Afandou itself - rubbish!! We timed the walk from Georgia to Afandou Beach (by the shortest route) and it took 25 minutes. The same is true of the walk into Afandou itself, also taking 25 minutes. The studio we had was barely bigger than our garage, and not much cleaner. The first thing my partner did, whilst I unpacked, was to sweep and mop the floor. Luckily we had arrived on a day flight, so we were able to get some immediate help with the bathroom drain, which overflowed sewage every time the washbasin was used, not to mention the "dining chair" which collapsed when my partner sat in it (and no, he is in no way overweight), or the light bulb missing from the main room light. Would we use this accommodation again? Absolutely never in this life.

The Georgia Apartments are a well-kept complex, the rooms are clean and the service is excellent, rooms are cleaned regularly and the bins in the bathroom emptied every other day. The facilities at the apartments are very good there is a restaurant/bar and a swimming pool, there is also a small games room with a pool table. Don’t miss the Greek night with Billy doing his table dance and be prepared to take part with the dancing it is great fun. The location of the apartments may not be to everyone’s taste it is next to a builders yard and it is set between two roads, one the main road to Lindos. However the noise from the road was not too bad and we never noticed any noise from the builders yard. The only downside to the apartments was the lack of air conditioning, at night sometimes it was too hot to sleep although there were fans that could be hired for €30 a fortnight. The Georgia are apartments I would certainly return to.

My wife sharon and i first went to geogia 12 years ago and have been going their every year since. We also try other countries but always end up back at Billys. The owners are constantly at work keeping the appartments and bar clean. They are always very helpful when ever there is a problem.
Although the appartments are next to the main road there is never any noise from traffic. The close proximinty of the road helps if you want a taxi or bus as in good old greek style you just flag one down. The village is a fantasic place to relax with quite bars and restrants. The local greeks in the village will always come up and have a chat.
