| said: The Hotel was exactly as we expected, clean & tidy. Everyone from cleaners to the reception staff always had a smile or said hello.
Considering the numbers of people they were catering for, the food was always varied and well presented, there was always something you liked and you could always"mix & match". The restaurant staff are very efficient, clearing empty plates and tables.
The staff were always helpful, nothing ever seemed to be too much trouble for them.
The entertainment team were first class, never pushy, just encouraging. The evening entertainment was varied. The best show being " Bitter & Twisted"
This was our third visit to this hotel this year,we will certainly visit again, and recommend it to anyone who wants to basically "chill out"

Now the negatives, the food. It was consistantly not cooked properly (inc chicken on the childrens buffet!! yes you heard right!) Even after complaining the hotel staff refused to take it off display. By eating at this hotel you are taking your live into your hands. If you are booked to stay here and have children, please check their food is cooked for their sakes and yours. It is a disaster waiting to happen!

The two resident entertainers were very good got people to join in without being pushy. The only posssible down side was the location, not a lot there a few bars and small shops but great for a quiet holiday, and it was only 1 euro 60 to Las Americas.
All in all a good holiday.

| said: Stayed here for half term week - very typical 3* Spanish hotel - my view excellent value for money the hotel is clean staff work very hard.
The hotel is located in a fairly quiet village with just one main street a few pubs and shops - just enough - but if you are looking for the high life it may not be for you.
The food was plentiful so you wouldn't go hungry - we ate out a couple of times there is a chinese next door and if you walk to the bottom of the hill there is a lovely Italian across from the lido.
There is also a nice cafe there called yellow hats that do really nice snacks in the day with tea and home made cakes run by an English couple.
The pool area was pleasant and clean and it hosts a Jacuzzi - although he water was quite cold in Jan - my daughter and the friends she met enjoyed it - The entertainment team were great putting a lot of effort in to ensure you enjoyed your stay.
There are public bus stops directly outside the hotel we travelled Los Giantes for two euros and spent a pleasant day there although it is quite hilly - All in all a very relaxing pleasant holiday - I would return to this hotel as I believe it is excellent value for money.

| said: Hi, me and Mrs Holidaymaker stayed in this hotel over the new year 2005/6 for one week, the hotel is a typical Spanish 3*, large with 16 floors rooms are on the small side but are kept clean and towels and floor mat are changed every day bedding once .
We must have had a bit of luck with our room as we had a great view from the balcony at the fear end of the hotel with lido, sea and over to PDLA the room we had was 1109 so if you can get a room with ether 07/08/09 or 10 on the end you will have a great view. If you are the other end by the road you will get noise from the bars near bye.
The hotel food is a funny one, I have seen other reviews about this and they do veary from one to another good or bad hot or cold, well my view is that the food was what you would see in any 3* hotel there was plenty of it, well presented, chefs carved the roast meats but it was at best only warm but it did taste alright.
The only other thing I would like to say on the food part is, as the new year got closer the hotel filled up to bursting point meaning that there was over 1100 people in it and as the dinning room only holds 618 people the new years Gala Dinner was a nightmare, they put on some of the best food of the week but it was all push an shove we only had a main meal and left.
Staff only can comment on the bar staff had a smile if you left a tip that about sums them up.
The day time enertainment team went round every day and got people up for the sports but only if you wanted, went out most night so did not see much of the night time shows but it did follow the way Debbie puts it, although we went out new years eve to a pub we did get back to do the (Old Langs thing) in the hotel and someone told the wife that because there are so many Spanish over for new year the entertainment had been more for them all night.
After the (old lang thingy) we went up to our balcony with a bottle of Cava and saw the fireworks over at PDLA.
Would we go back to this hotel, YES we would it has got most things that most people need and a Spanish 3* is a Spanish 3* and the best thing for us was it was £200.00 cheaper than a 3* in PDLA at this time of year.

It was a big old style hotel in a rather run down resort, a lot of building work going on around.
Hotel staffs were friendly and rooms were good size and clean. We had 2 rooms adjoining with balcony, unfortunately we were above a Chinese restaurant so the smoke from there chimneys came into our room and was very noisy from the road outside, taxi rank and a few shops. The rep got us moved to room facing pool, which was a bit better, still noisy though.
Food was ok but a bit repetitive and not always warm, also very tight on the all inclusive side, only 2 drinks per person and had to sign for everything. They seemed to look down on the all inclusive people as mainly a half board hotel. A lot of rude Spanish people staying at hotel.
Pool was nice size and was clean, but you had to be quick to get a sun bed in morning. Beach was a joke, very small and dirty.
There are a few pubs outside but really nothing much to do in resort, too far out to walk anywhere. I wouldn’t go back!

| said: The Hotel is one the older style high rise venues and is owned by the Fiesta Group (Spannish). The hotel is in various states of improvement from hotel rooms and pool area. This does not detract from the well presented lobby, bar and restaurant. The impression you get is one off cleaniness and organisation.Around the ground floor there some shops offering goods from suitcases to suncream all at non hotel prices.
The rooms are neat and compact ours was in need of an update as was happening on our floor, but everything worked and it was cleaned daily with fresh towels provided. The tv was ok but if you really must watch BBC etc you can pay for it as an extra.
The pool area was very clean with ample sunbeds you pay 1 euro for a sponge mat if you find the sunbeds too hard. The pool has a full time life guard and there are small pools for the kids. The showers around the pool are good too and there are plenty of signs about depth and the rules of the pool area.
The food was in a word Fantastic, if anyone had cause to complain they either eat in the high street, you know how I mean, or have a Beefeater every Sunday. Having to cater for a wide variety of nationalities the catering staff pull out all the stops, Breakfast was either cooked, continental, cereals or fruit. Evening meal always included homemade soups' fish, meat, loads of great salads, pasta and fresh local bread, it was difficult to choose most evenings.
All staff were helpful and were grateful if you tried to speak some basic spannish. We had a poor bed on the first night,it was only about four foot, so we talked to the receptionist about it saying we would prefer singles if possible. They not only sorted it out they moved us to another room with no fuss. Excellent.
The free bus is usually prompt we got the 11 o clock one, less people and the 6.30 back for the same reason.

| said: The hotel is a large typical 3 star Spanish Hotel with over 500 rooms on 16 floors, built about 20 years ago. Due to its size it does get busy in certain areas such as the dining room & bar area, particularly at week ends.
All rooms have a sea view except the 4 rooms on each floor that face the road at the rear of the hotel. The best rooms with sun on the balcony most of the day are the ones overlooking the pool area and all have numbers 08/09/10/11.
Some rooms have adjoining doors, and although we did not have one of these, we did hear complaints from guests who said they found this a problem, as they were able to hear guests in the adjoining room through the door.
The rooms do not have air conditioning, just a ceiling fan, which was fine in February but could be hot in the summertime.
Generally the hotel is in a fairly good state for it’s age, particularly the dining room and bar lounge, which look as though they have been renovated recently.
The bedrooms are a reasonable size and generally were in a good state, with everything working and when on the odd occasion something did need attention, it was dealt with immediately by the repair team.
The corridors on each floor did however look a bit shabby, with torn floor covering and holes in the walls where recent fire prevention work had not been finished off properly.
The hotel only has the one outside pool area, which was of ample size and well looked after, but in Feb/March was a little too cold for most people. I expect in summer this would be fine.
The housekeeping was of a good standard with rooms cleaned every day, towels changed daily and sheets changed several times a week. The other public area and gardens seemed to be attended to daily.
The staff all seemed to be efficient and helpful, without “being over the top” or fawning after you when ever you spoke to them. We were surprised to read other comments from guests who complained about staff attitudes…perhaps this is more to do with the way these guests spoke to the staff! We certainly found no problems here.
The food was good, with a wide choice offering something for everyone.
Breakfasts had all the usual things both hot and cold, from cereals to bacon, eggs etc. The evening meals had lots of choice from salads to hot dishes, and a carved roast joint most evenings.
There was also a kids section of burgers, fish fingers etc. We did hear the odd complaint that the food was not very hot, although we had no problems, and there were two microwave ovens available if required.
The restaurant did get quite busy at peak times between 7.30- 8.30, so it was easier to go either early or late if you wanted to miss the crowds.
The entertainment was organised by a team of three staff, Miriam, Gina & Danny who were all-excellent and went out of their way to make sure everyone had a good time. During the day they organised rifle shooting, archery, french bowls, mini golf and various other games that were always well-attended and good fun.
Kids were also looked after with activities provided by both the hotel staff and the tour company.
The evening entertainment consisted of a kids disco at 9.00pm followed by bingo every evening, which is not to everyone’s taste. This was then followed by a good show on alternate evening, although it did not start till 10.30, which was a little late for some people.
On the evenings when there was no show, the entertainment staff organised their own shows, which were watchable and usually quite funny.
Although some guests went out on an evening to the local bars because the drinks were cheaper, we did not find the drinks in the hotel expensive. Local beer was £2 [3 euros] a pint and spirits about the same for a good measure.
These prices were still cheaper than home, and as some of the outside bars looked a little seedy, we preferred to drink in the comfort of the hotel lounge.
The area surrounding the hotel was not particularly appealing. It consisted of one short street on a fairly steep hill, made up of a few bars and shops, with two supermarkets, which tended to stock most things people require on holiday.
There is quite a bit of building work going on around the area, although not right next to the hotel. The noise was not disruptive to us, but some people might be put of by the sight of all the cranes working during the daytime.
There are a few good walks along the cliff tops to the adjoining villages on either side of the resort but no real beaches to speak of, just rocks.
Because there is not much to do on the resort the hotel provide a free courtesy bus, which goes to Las Americas, and back three times a day. The journey takes about 15 minutes and the bus tended to get full at busy times, particularly the one leaving the hotel at 10.30 so it is advisable to get there early for this bus.
To sum up, we stayed at the hotel for a month in January/February and thought it offered good value for money, especially when compared to similar hotels in Las Americas or Los Christianos.
We would happily go back again in the future, as we are the sort of people who like a quiet time, but for those seeking a bit more action, particularly lots of shopping or plenty of night life, this hotel & area might not be for you.

| said: We stayed at the Oasis Paraiso from the middle to the end of November, this was the 3rd time we have returned to this hotel, and I've got to say we still really enjoyed it again!
The hotel cleanliness is up to a very high standard, maids in every day, they make your beds up, and leave you fresh clean towels.
The food is a little on the cool side, we did need microwaves to warm it up abit, the best advice is to get in for your food quite early, as things like chicken legs are gone within the first hour, and the replacement meats weren't as desirable!
The location is a bit out of the way, looks abit like a building site when you first go in, but the noise didn't bother us at all, we hardlys heard anything, and were never awakened early with it.
The entertainment is good for families with children, the downside is that everything starts too late for young children, the mini disco never started till 9pm, and the main evening show till 10:15, so the young kids were never in bed before 11:15.
The daytime entertainment was brillinant, I can't sing praises to the entertainment team enough, Miriam, Gina and Danny are such lovely people, they really do their best to get you involved with things, and they always make time for you, *Big Hello from Debbie if you's are reading this!!*
The downside is the pool, its all one depth and was even too deep for me to stand up in, except for one little small area where it was up to my neck, and I'm 5ft 6! Its also very cold, it takes a while to get used to, but thanks to Danny on the entertainment team I got used to it quite quick!
We haven't made any plans to return yet, mainly for the fact that we've already been there 3 times, and I think its time we tried somewhere new now.
But I would definately recommend this hotel as ideal for couples or families that like a good hotel based holiday.

The pool area wasn't clean though it was only swept when we asked for the area where we were all sat to be cleaned.
The food was terrible, the worst we've ever had, it was freezing cold all the time and very greasy.
There wasn't really anywhere else in the resort (if you can call it a resort it was really in the middle of a building site.
The majority of the hotel staff were really quite miserable.
We had our room broken into during our second week (there were twelve rooms broken into in one day) and the reception staff didn't want to know.
The hotel entertainment was excellent and if it hadn't been it would have been our worst holiday ever. There was something for everyone at all times of the day and night. the entertainment staff were wonderful.
We wouldn't go back here again as the food was so awful and there wasn't really anywhere else to eat.

| said: We have just returned 13/9/05(a party of 19)from Oasis Parasio-Playa Paraiso...before we went we began to get very concerned about reports of the building work, and the fear of it interupting our holiday.
Although there is extensive building work being carried out around the resort this at no point made our stay uncomfortable. We totaly enjoyed our stay here-every last one of us!!
When you first travel into the resort it you will feel as though you have made a very big mistake as we all did. It looked like we were entering a second world war bomb site!!!! Once we arrived at the hotel we were very happily surprised...there is some noise of building work -but not that bad-honestly.
The resort itself is nothing to speak about although saying this if you are taking teenagers who wish to go out alone you should feel very safe. As there is only a handful of pubs for them to go to-which are directly next to the hotel. I am the worlds worst to worry for my daughters aged 16 and 18, they came with 4 of their mates and I was quite happy to go to bed and know they would be ok....(it did help that they had befriended some staff from the oasis which went out with them).
The food 100%
The staff 100%
Cleanliness 100%
Location not all that...but the hotel is enough-honest!!
Entertainment 100%-especialy Myriam -she is great-down to earth and a good laugh-day and night.
We will be returning here soon!!!!
I will say after just returning from Benidorm a month previously to going here-I was unable to sleep due to 24hour noise-at the Oasis you can hear a pin drop from your room after 10/11pm-it was great.
The kids club was fantastic and super Sarah and radical Richard kept my 7year old entertained day and night-some day the had her for 6 hours!!!(2 at a time)she made lots of friends and even got on the stage and danced in the evenings-which she would have never done before-she had a great time!!!!!
Bingo every night-up to 200 euros a time-our party won over 800 euros between us, which paid for lots of nights out for the grown up to playa las americas!
I cannot recomend this hotel anough! The distance is just a few minutes in taxi/bus to Playa de las Americas -just right !(about £10 taxi-and split 4 ways is nothing!!)
happy holidays!

Plenty of drinks to choose from in the bar although only local brands which is the usual practice. The area in which the hotel is siuated has very little to do, just a couple of shops and bars but there are 3 free buses a day to Playa de las Americas and back.
All the staff were friendly and helpful. Plenty of entertainment in the day if you wished, darts, shooting etc, but night time not so good mini disco followed by international bingo, then the nightly show, which didn't last long.

the rooms themselves could do with updating.
The reception area and coridors is well presented
the dining room is clean.
The pool area needs a good clean and is in need
of painting.
The hotel food was often only luke warm, there are microwaves to heat food which makes one wonder why the hotel isnt doing anything about serving hot food.
if I wanted to reheat my own food I would have gone self catering!
The hotel is located on the only road in the resort
about 300m from sea. you have a view of sea from pool side also from higher floors of hotel (16 floors)
you also have view of very large building site more or less next door to pool area(it can be quite noisy
Mon to Fri!
There are half a dozen bars on road best is rythem and booze next to hotel(beware if you haveroom lower floors on this side as will be noisy between 2100 and 2.30 also noisy at 6.00am onwards when hotel generator kicks in next to your room , spoke to reception about it and was told they know it is a problem. Did we want a room on 16th floor !no thanks!
Finally after 2 days got room on street side 4th floor
this was ok bit shabby but ok.
Now to the hotel. Staff: reception staff rude and not bothered they do seem to like anybody who is not a Brit ie Spanish French Italian Dutch German even Martians or lost tribe of the moon just not Brits!
The entertainment staff were great helpful really
nice people. The waiters were also quite rude( they also must go on the same courses as reception).
Life guard top man very helpful (same courses as entertainment staff).
Entertainment quite good in day at night also but it
does seem to drag out as everything has to be repeated in several languages.
I would not visit hotel again or send my worst enemy

| said: The Hotel Rooms were on the small side particularly if you were wanting to have more than two of you in the room. We had our 15 year old daughter on a camp bed leaving little room.
We were on the thirteenth floor overlooking the pool.
The Hotel was noisy some nights when people were leaving or coming in as the corridors were not carpeted and the doors tended to be ill fitting meaning that they had to be closed with force to get them to shut.
It quickly became apparent that the Hotel food was not as good as expected. Having stopped at a 3 star Fiesta hotel the previous year there was no comparison in the quality. The salad was very limited in choice and could be described as slop on many days. If you were a vegetarian, you will by the end of your holiday rapidly become similar to a Belsen victim as there were only three choices each day. This mainly comprised of pasta (no sauce) and other bland dishes. The Gala night was however good with the only fresh vegetables of the holiday appearing.
An All Inclusive option was available in the Hotel with a Drinks only option and a Food and drink option. Both of which were not advertised in the brochure. We took up the drink option as for £12.50 a day per person this was good value.
There is a lot of building work going on in the resort. Whilst there a jack hammer was on the go from 0800 to 1830 every day except Sundays, which became very irritating if you wanted a snooze in the day by the pool or in your room.
The Hotel does not have Air Conditioning but has roof fans making sleep very uncomfortable, although you could hire additional fans and fridges from reception.
The staff were very friendly and would always try and accommodate your wishes.
The pool has lifeguards who are very talkative and friendly.
The satellite TV available in your room was not working due to the building work to be able to obtain BBC1/2, ITV and some sky channels. the only English channel available was CNN.
If you plan on staying here on a half board basis there are some good Brit bars nearby for lunchtime snacks who also do a take away service. We used Scorpios and I can recommend there baguettes, pizzas and burgers.
A car is a must in this resort although the local bus service is regular and very cheap. Go to Playas de Americas for shopping, there is a large shopping complex above and below ground near the Hotel Conquistador.

The food was in the main very good, but as we were on all inclusive three meals a day from the buffet style restaurant did become a little repetitive.
There was a better choice if you were willing to experiment with some of the local foods as adults can, but with 3 children under 10 we were glad there was always pizza and chips for them.
Playa Paraiso is a little way from the main resorts of Las Americas and Los Christianos but the free hotel bus was very good.
Free use of the Lido just down the road from the hotel for all inclusive guests proved a big hit with us as it was so quiet that we often had the childrens pool to ourselves.
Unlike the hotel childrens pool which was often crowded. There is only room for a maximum 9 sunbeds around the childrens pool and the early birds got their towels on them pretty quickly.
The problem is that the main pool is all one depth 1.5m so families with non swimmers were restricted.
The hotel was fairly quiet during the week but got busier Friday to Monday as a lot of Spanish families use it for weekend breaks. The hotel staff were excellent, very courteous and always made a fuss of the children.
One thing to watch out for is the waiters habit of giving children little sweets but not waiting until they had finished their meal which left abandoned meals in favour of the sweetie.
The evening entertainment programme was typical family entertainment with some professional acts and on other nights the hotel entertainers. The main entertainment often didn`t start until 2215 and lasted about an hour. The daytime activities were provided by Thomson kid zone clubs as well as the Fiesta hotel team.

| said: At looking at the other reviews I was a little bit worried about going to Play Paraiso (Paraiso Oasis Hotel) but it has been one of the best holidays we have had in a long time.
We went half board which was great for us as it didn't ties us down to the hotel too much. Not that there is anything wrong with the hotel. The food was great, breakfast and evening meal plenty to choose from. If you couldn't make it for evening meal they would change it for lunch if you asked them.
Just down the road from our hotel were some bars cafe etc. One inparticular cafe was called Yellow Hats they are changing it to Amarillo which I believe it means Yellow Hats in Spanish. The owners are called Mike and Margaret (What great people they are)on their days off Mike taught my son to snorkel. and Margaret took him fishing. They took us to Las Christianos one night to the bars nothing was too much trouble for them. Big thank you to both of them!
The location for us was superb as you could get on to one of the local buses (Titsu bus) and it would cost 5 Euros for all three of us to go to either Play Las Americas Los Christianas or another lovely place call Las Gigantes. It was 10 Euros in a taxi to any of the resorts as well. Playa Paraiso is a lovely place and is cental, it gives you easy access to any of the other resorts.
The hotel staff were brilliant rooms were cleaned every day towels changed every day.
We didn't see much of the entertainment in the hotel as we went out most nights, as we were half board we wanted to see as much of the resort as poss. What we did see was that everybody that was joining in all the activities and watching the entertainments seemed to be having a great time.
We would all definately like to go back to Playa Paraiso (Pariso Oasis Hotel) again.

| said: First impressions of the hotel were very good. It has a spacious lobby and several shops and was immaculately clean.
Maids came in everyday and thoroughly cleaned the rooms, even fanning out nightclothes and carefully placing the children's teddies on them. Towels were changed daily if required and we were very impressed with the service received here.
We found the staff throughout to be very friendly and polite. The restaurant staff in particular were lovely with the children.
I thought the breakfasts were excellent. There was plenty of choice from full English, including proper English sausages, bread and rolls, meats and cheeses, fruits, pastries and even sparkling wine if you could stomach it.
We weren't impressed though with the evening meals and in particular the selection for the children who mainly had only a choice of pizza and one other item. Some funny looking hamburgers or the occasional breaded chicken wing. Anaemic fries were served every night and all the food was always barely warm. There was an excellent selection of salads though so we mainly stuck with those.
One good thing, you could change your evening meal for a buffet or picnic lunch if you advised reception by 8pm the night before which we found quite useful.
A word about the food. Do check the meat is properly cooked. One morning at breakfast the sausages were totally raw and uncooked inside. we showed these to the rep who informed the head waiter who merely recooked them all. Our 5 year old was very sick the day after as a result and we had to call out the doctor, obtain medication in the middle of the night and incur alot of expense.
There was the usual morning rush for the sunbeds and limited sunshades which was a pain, and we found the childrens pool to be very small indeed. The main pool was all a depth of 150m which was too deep for my 8 year old to be in on his own too and we found this to be a real bind. I would certainly research pools for them for future holidays.
Our room was of a good standard and we had a pool and sea view. This was nice but the surrounding cranes and building works do spoil it somewhat as the area is still in it's development stage.
We found the evening entertainment to be very poor though. There was a mini disco at 8.30 every night where the children did a few party dances and agame such as pass the hat or musical bumps. This lasted for about half an hour, then there was the presentation of the day's prize givings forllowed by the selling of bingo tickets and international bingo which between them took another hour. During this time there was absolutely nothing for the children to do except run around, if allowed, ours weren't, and get in other peoples way. We thought this was very poorly organised and the children who were 8, 5 and 3 were boreed stiff. There was a professional show, parrot, flamenco, illusion, etc on some nights but although that was billed as starting at 10.15 it never did until at least 10.40 which was far too late for them. Other nights were competitions such as Miss Fiesta which we didn't bother to stay up for. All in all though I didn't find the entertainment staff over enthusiastic and welcoming as I have on other holidays and having read previous reviews was very disappointed at the entertainments on offer.
The Thomson kids clubs were good as usual and there was twice daily mini clubs for children and adults with the Fiesta staff where they did treasure huts, mini golf, pool, etc which were quite enjoyed.
Whilst we were there, the Paraiso Floral next door was closed for refurbishment and their guest allocated to our hotel. As there's was an all inclusive hotel we found most people were on this basis and this did show as we encountered a lot of drunks late at night drinking the bar dry. We didn't book at an all inclusive for this reason so coupled with the power tools and smashing tiles which could be heard from the refurbishment programme when around the pool area did not enamour us to the hotel.
The hotel runs 3 courtesy buses each morning to PDLA or you could catch the hourly local ones or taxis for around 15 euros. We used these alot as we found our position much too quiet and enjoyed the beaches at Puerto Colon and Las Vistas in particular. We ate out on several occasions due to the lack of variety of eveing meals too which we hadn't budgetted for, but did find food very reasonably priced outside of Playa Paraiso.
There is a very small beach in Playa Paraiso though it is shingle and pebbly, not cleaned and we found alot of broken glass around so shoes are a must. There are plenty of fish there though and a local diving school goes there. Just walk on past the Lido and down some steps.
Whilst there we went to the Medieval Night which was superb and also Pirates wich was very good too. We enjoyed a day at the SkyPark which is ideal for children under 10 and saw whales and dolphins on a boat trip, although unfortunately most the family except me were sea-sick! Quite surprising as they have never been so before.
All in all an okay hotel in a very quiet resort suitable if you want total relaxation. Much too quiet for us though with poor evening entertainment and unsuitable childrens bathing so we wouldn't return.

| said: I have just got back from this hotel and to start with we weren't that sure about it. The food for tea when we first got there wasn't that exciting but it was enjoyable. Even though the hotel is only a half board hotel they had some people staying in it who were on the all inclusive board as like my family we had to stay in this hotel instead of the one next door.
There wasn't a great variety of food as you often saw most of the same food avaliable for every meal. The entertainment was amazing, at half past eight every night they have a mini disco for little children (but big kids can also join in), this is followed by a game of international bingo which if you are an impatient person I wouldn't advise you to play as it takes forever as they have to call the numbers in many different languages and it gets pretty boring after more than a couple of nights of playing it.
After the bingo every night they hold a performance which is suitable for people of all ages and is very funny. The entertainers themselves are amazing as they all have a good sense of humour and if you don't have a smile on your face you will be guaranteed to have one after they have seen you!!!
There isn't alot for the teenagers to do at the hotel as the hotel entertainers hold a club for 4-14 year olds and then a club for adults 16/17+.
I would recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to have fun when they are on holiday and anyone who has young children.

---------
Playa Paraiso is a tiny resort about 15km away from the bright lights of Playa De Las Americas. The resort is basically one street comprising of 4 hotels, although there is a lot of work going on and the resort is growing. Strangely, although the resort seems to have grown in the 7 years since we last visited, it didn’t seem anywhere near as busy, though this could have been due to the time of year.
There are some shops in the resort, a couple of supermarkets (the supermarket Felipe being the best/cheapest by some distance), a few electrical shops (I don’t recommend buying ANY electrical items from these shops as the owners will rip you off given half a chance, a particular favourite being the copied gameboy cartridges containing multiple games they buy from Japan for a few dollars and sell to the mums and dads for £40-£50) and some basic touristy type shops. There are also a few restaurants and bars, including a Chinese restaurant and the obligatory Karaoke bar.
Aside from shops/bars, there is also a freshwater Lido (not used it myself so cannot really comment) but, alas, no beach.
Whether or not you will enjoy staying in the resort is, of course, down to personal preference. Some will find it relaxing to be isolated, others will find it boring. Personally I couldn’t stay in the resort for longer than a week, though the free bus to Las Americas put on by the hotel is very useful, and I recommend using it and doing any shopping in Las Americas as prices tend to be a little lower. Los Gigantes is also within easy reach using a local Titsa bus.
Hotel Facilities
--------------
The hotel has quite a few facilities: swimming pool, Jacuzzi, squash court, tennis court, table tennis, pool tables. I have to say that I found that they had allowed the facilities to run down a little, for example, the net on the table tennis table was on its last legs and the tennis court looked very run down.
There is quite a lot of space available for sun bathing, though I think it could get a little crowded when the hotel is full as there isn’t an awful lot of space to sunbathe around the pool. The lower level sunbathing area had also been closed off during my stay, though I’m not sure why.
Within the hotel there are a few shops, and also a wash room should you feel the urge to do your washing before going home (yeah, right!)
Room
------
The room we were in was fairly nice (in a typical holidaymaker room way), but unfortunately we were overlooking the road and the noise was horrendous. Loud music, constant traffic noise etc… Definitely try to get a room overlooking the pool if possible. I was disappointed with the lack of air conditioning in the room, with only a ceiling fan being available (though you can hire air con units from reception). There is also a TV with some UK channels available (Sky Sports 1, Sky Movies, BBC1, ITV etc…) if you choose to pay for them (around €18 for a week), but you don’t go on holiday to watch Eastenders do you?
Food
-----
I found the food to be a little disappointing to be honest. There was a pretty big selection both at breakfast and dinner, but it seemed to always be the same thing.
For breakfast there was a selection of cereals (I loved the muesli), cakes/pastries, fruit, yogurts, breads, cold meats and cheese. There was also the normal “British” style breakfast options (bacon, egg, sausage etc..) though I didn’t try these as they looked like they had been cooked in far too much fat (even the baked beans seemed to be swimming in grease).
Generally at dinner there was freshly carved meats or paella, this was in addition to the other choices which normally included a pork, fish, chicken and beef dish. There was also pasta and some “kids” items (chicken nuggets and omelet generally). Aside from the main course there was also a large variety of salad items, breads and some soup.
I have two main criticisms of the food on offer at the hotel:
1) There was very little choice for vegetarians. Almost everything had meat in it, including most of the pasta and a lot of the salad items.
2) The deserts were very poor. Basically the choice was yogurt (pots), ice cream (pots), fruit (plenty of choice, but always the same), caramel/chocolate desert (looked revolting), rice pudding or some kind of sponge cake with jam/cream on top. The worst item of all however was something that looked like raisons in milk!
A bit of advice for anyone who is considering taking the full board option available in the Portland Direct brochure. DON’T. The price is £13 per day in the brochure for a lunchtime meal, however you can pay on arrival at the hotel to upgrade to one of 2 available options. Option 1 (€13 per day) allows you to get drinks all day (between 10:00 and 24:00) from the bar (national drinks, not just locally produced drinks). Option 2 (€17.50 per day) gives you all the benefits of option 1, plus allows you to have lunch in the restaurant/barbeque and you can also get sandwiches from the poolside bar between 10am and 5pm. So you can actually go all-inclusive by paying on arrival for roughly the same price as Portland want to charge you just to get lunch! The prices are cheaper for children under 16, but I cannot remember offhand what they were. For more information it might be best to look at the hotel website www.fiestahotels.com
Daytime Entertainment
-----------------------
There seemed to be plenty going on during the day, with regular activities scheduled by the hotel entertainment team, rifle shooting, French bowles, pool and water polo being typical examples. Kids seemed to be well catered for too, with activities being provided by both the hotel entertainment team and the Thompson reps.
Evening Entertainment
-----------------------
This was a bit of a mixed bag and to my mind disappointing. The evening entertainment in the hotel generally followed a familiar pattern: 9pm kids disco, 10pm bingo and then the main entertainment beginning at around 10.30pm. The main entertainment was either something put on by the hotel entertainment team (e.g. Mr/Mrs Oasis Paraiso or similar) or an outside act. I’m loathe to be too harsh on the quality of the entertainment, as it must be difficult to find things that will appeal to the various nationalities staying in the hotel, but overall I found evenings there to be a little boring.
Staff
-----
All of the staff at the hotel I found to be generally excellent. The hotel entertainment team were brilliant with the kids and made a real effort to get people involved in the activities. The restaurant and bar staff were super efficient and couldn’t clear the table’s quick enough. Finally the reception staff were always able to help with any queries we had, and weren’t trying to flog us trips like the Thompson rep (we asked for the price of a taxi to the Los Cristianos market, which came to €15, and he tried to sell us tickets to go on the Thompson “trip” for €15 each!).
Overall
-------
I would say I enjoyed my stay at the hotel, but I don’t think I’ll be going back. There simply isn’t enough to do or see in the resort. I was also a little disappointed with Tenerife in general, how many more electronics shops, British pubs and tourist tat shops do they think people need?

| said: My wife and I have just returned from this hotel. On arrival we were very impressed by the cleanliness and the condition of the room which was on the 15 floor overlooking the sea.
This the first time we have ever gone all inclusive as it was my wife's 60 birthday however after three days we went down with food poisoning and had to get the doctor as we were in bed for three days which did spoil the holiday to say the least.
As for the hotel itself it did cater for families and I was surprised by the number of children at the hotel during term time who were running around all day uncontrolled which did spoil it for people of our age group.
I would not go back here again if you paid me.

The hotel itself and facilties are fab, although we didnt stay for the entertainment on a night. We did hear good reports off other guests. The food was varied and enjoyable. I tasted veal for the first time in my life! Breakfasts were great, for one who isnt a lover of a great british fry up on a daily basis, there is cereal & plenty of fresh fruit & bread.

| said: We were recommended this hotel by our travel agent as she said a friend of hers had visited previously and really enjoyed it. I think she was lying to be honest. We were told the hotel was in a quiet area which in all fairness it was, although it was peaceful of a nightime.
It was overlooking the sea, we had a pool view which was very nice although we did get to see a slight part of the surrounding area that was just plain dirty ground where people decided to dump their rubbish occasionally. The staff were quite pleasant at reception and seemed helpful enough. The rep decided to show her face on our third day, she did the whats on welcome then disappeared. If you go on any excursions do not get a fiesta breakfast, they cater more for the Germans, I mean who else would eat salami for breakfast.
There were a few cats roaming around the hotel grounds which we weren't really that sure about so we decided not to leave our drinks on the floor. There was plenty of entertainment to keep my children happy including a disco with karaoke. The food was ok really, although the pizzas weren't really varied in flavour, steer clear if you don't like olives!!!!!
