We stayed all inclusive for 11 nights,We found the food to be plentiful and quite a good variety, there was always something that you liked.
All the hotel staff were very friendly and obliging.
the location was good because you could easily visit Los Gigantes and Playa arena as well as Puerto Santiago. We did not stay in the hotel at night so we can comment on the entertainment other than it was varied.
There were spare sun beds but not much space to put them unless you got up very early.
We would definatly go back to this hotel but on half board next time.

The hotel was very clean. Very cool and pleasant in the reception area. Rooms cleaned six days out of seven to a good standard. The food was of good quality if a bit monotonous. Breakfast was plentiful and enjoyed by us every morning. Lunch and dinner were much of the same foods but we ate out a couple of times to break the pattern. There were a few good bars and restraunts reasonably priced very nearby. Only two complaints. One lack of a decent bar in the evenings and entertainment not to our taste. (Route 66 is a very good music venue nearby).
and two the ridiculous scrum for sunbeds in the mornings, be warned be early. Hotel staff very friendly.

We booked this holiday late and with our sons ongoing Scuba diving courses in mind. We chose all inclusive with our sons consumption of drinks and ice cream in mind. Our room was on the fourth floor and we appear to have landed on one of the very few quietish spots on the complex, tucked away in a corner, away from the road and the entertainment area. Our room was spotlessly clean and we were cleaned and towels replaced daily, with the exeption of Sundays. We thought we were going to be air conditioned, but we weren't. However, the location of the room was ideal for a through flow of air and the benefits of the quiet location outweighed the air con. I saw more lizards than I did cockroaches, in fact the one cockroach I did see was as flat as a pancake. The food was fine, but a bit boring. It was a self service dining room, so if it was "chips with everything" it would have been because you picked them up. We ate out on three occasions over the fortnight, twice with people we met for "an occasion" and once because the boy was gagging for a cheeseburger! We were aware of the hotel location when we booked and although it wasn't ideal it never presented us with any great difficulty in getting to places and I'm sure walking all those hills did us the power of good. The Staff were wonderful. We always make an effort to be friendly from the word go and it pays dividends (our room was cleaned every day) and a please and thank you at the bar goes a long way.
Entertainment wise you would probably be better off watching the drunks, the people complaining about something or other in Reception or popping around the corner to Route 66. Many people loved the shows, but it wasn't really our cup of tea.
BUT, I would not go back to this hotel for one simple reason and that would be the sunbed scramble. The beds are chained up at night and not unlocked until 9.00am the next morning. "To prevent the beds being reserved" is the official line, but people of all nationalities started to gather at 7.00am to place little poolside drinks tables in their choosen spot and then drag a chair over to the chained up beds to stand guard. It's not a place for women of faint heart or small children when those chains come off and if you weren't in situ by 7.15am you had no chance. The earliest towel table? 4.14 am, Spanish family.
With this hotel offering so many good things it's a bit of a shame really.

we paid for three star plus. tamaio tropical 2star at a stretch .the beds were broken ,curtains torn, broken lights, no bed linen ,no towels and a 4 hour wait to be moved from one grubby apartment to another.staff were huffy, disintrested and barely tolerant. local rep was also all of the above.this hotel we found to be dirty in everyway possible. none of the balcony doors locked and there were numerous reports of theft throughtout the hotel. on many instances there were cockroaches in the restaurant and rooms. food was bland and often inedible as well as cold. shortage of restaurant staff resulted in queues for cutlery and crockery as well as drinks. the pool in the hotel was filthy and dangerous as well as over crowded. poolbar was also extremly dirty and on more than one occasion we were hit by objects from the pool. on one day i even spotted some cooked supernoodles near the pool and numerous cups etc floating in the pool. the hotel entertainment was abismal and we were often tortured by jewelley sellers directly outside the restaurant. dont go to this hotel unless you want to meet every character from "shameless" and "benidorm." Our advice upgrade to 4* Barcelo Santiago.

Rooms clean if in need of a face lift, weather fine and hot, Food was of a very poor standard with little or no variety, chips with every thing. Best meal of the day breakfast, all meals and snacks to be eaten in the restaurant and not to be taken out side. Drink always served in plastic cups if up could get served as there was always a queue but fine if you were Spanish as the always got served first, even if there were people waiting. Sun beds locked up until 09:00 and not before and not enough to go round, as for parasols only about a dozen for a complex of 300 plus apartments. Seating in the evenings again to enough to go round and only a small entertainment area, which could not seat all or even half of the guest, again bar service of a poor standard as one bar service staff for each bar. Day time entertainment was poor with little or no activities. We were sold the holiday on the understanding that it had become self catering and when we arrived it was all inclusive and the prices in the bars were higher than out side the complex, so a drink around the pool for Four cost 11 euros, so after the first day we reluctantly upgraded to all in advertised at 23 euros each per day, when we asked about it was then 25 euros per day, so 1300 euros for the Four of us. After which you felt you had to eat in as nearly half our money had gone. If you wanted to use any of the facilities e.g. Pool, table tennis, the tennis courts or the Jacuzzi this was all extra and not cheap a safe in the room cost 24 euros per week with a 10 euro deposit. One of our most expensive holidays and yet it turned out to be our worst ever, over all this was a disappointing holiday and we would a recommend that you do not go there unless you like being treated as a second class citizen and being charged a lot of money for the privilege .

Regards,

The Wood Family.

We have just returned after 2 weeks holiday at Tamaimo. No complaints over the accommodation. Clean tidy rooms. Maid service excellent. Didn't eat at all as self catering. Facilities very limited for self catering guests, no oven or grill! Two good pools and lots for the kids with the kids club on during the day. Will not miss the clamour for a poolside sun bed in the mornings. Watching this in the mornings is very entertaining. Can get a little noisy at night around the pool area although not late into the night. Didn't visit the evening entertainment so haven't rated this. Our only reason for not visiting again is the resort itself.

We have just returned from a weeks all inclusive holiday at the Tamaimo tropical and on the whole we did have a very good time. We only booked two days before we left so got a very good deal for myself and my wife(both 40)and our two sons ,16 and 9.This is the fourth time we have been A.I and so do have quite a bit to compare everything with.
I will give you all the positives first about the hotel before the bad bits.
The hotel was kept spotlessley clean around all the grounds ,pools and bedrooms. We were given a 2 bedroom apartment on the top floor, one side of the apt overlooked the main pool and its lovely grounds . It is worth getting a top floor apt if you can as there is less noise, a better view and you wont have everyone looking in your windows when they go past. We did see a few cockroaches around but no more than any other time we have been to the canaries.
There are 2 big pools at the hotel, and one of those has a smaller heated pool off it and another smaller kids pool. All the pools apart from the kiddies pool are quite deep so you need to be careful with young children.
Location wise the hotel is surrounded by the beautiful views of the Los Gigantes mountains and the sea. There are some amazing walks around , but take it from us there are some big hills around and anyone with walking difficulties would find it very hard going.
Having said that if you cant manage walking to far just pick up a taxi from right outside the hotel . We did this on our last night as it was raining and got a taxi to the harbour side of Los Gigantes , which is around 30 minutes walk ,and it only cost 6euros return.
There is also a good bus service with "Titsa" buses, these run fairly regular and are pretty cheap. We travelled all the way to Playa De Las Americas for 27euros return for four of us. But be warned they fill up pretty quick and the local people do not like to queue and will push their way in front of you if you let them .And you may end up standing for over an hours journey. It takes so long because there are so many bus stops around but it is an experience.
Back to the hotel , all the staff were friendly enough and reception were very helpful. Entertainment wise we did not use the disco bar at night or the kids club so cant really comment, but they seemed to be the usual package holiday stuff, such as party dances , bingo etc if that is what you like. We ourselves went and played tennis on the excellent 2 courts that are there. cost was about 12euro for as long as we wanted . We also played table tennis, and mini golf which was free but nothing special. And we also used the pools as much as possible but even though you are not supposed to, people will still put their towels on the beds as early as they can, so you have to do the same otherwise you will not get one.
Onto the worst part of the hotel for us , which was the food . Dont get me wrong most of the food is perfectly edible, and we are by no means fussy eaters ,but here after 4 days of eating in the restuarant we had had enough and started to eat out. The main problem is that it is all to repetitive every day. The same for breakfast and lunch everyday and almost the same evening meal maybe with one or two exceptions. There is a lot of choice at each meal and we always try and have something different each day but it just got so boring after 4 or 5 days and a lot of it seemed to be recycled everyday. The worst thing really was the choice for kids, our 9 yr old is a bit fussier but all they had to choose from most nights was chips and pasta. There was hamburgers one night but that was it and they even put out last nights chips for breakfast every morning. Our son ended up having beans on toast every morning and chip butties in the evenings. The desserts were nice but even they got boring after a while.
The A.I drinks were all good enough with some strong beer and large measures , they also have a different free cocktail each night which was very nice and pretty strong too. Plenty of soft drinks for the kids but there was not anywhere to get snacks when we were there. So we started to eat out which was all very good and made a nice change.
The food would be one of our reasons for not visiting this hotel again but mainly we prefer to go somewhere different each time we go away.
But other than that the hotel is lovely , we had a big apartment with 2 bedrooms and it has fantastic scenery, and as i said we got a great deal at short notice and were on the whole happy with our week there.

Stayed all inclusive for one week - breakfast and lunch were great but dinner had the same options every night. We always ended up hungry about 10pm and ordered out for pizza.

Cleanliness was excellent but hotel was definately tired and old. The kitchen I would not have used if we were self catering. Falling apart and I would be afraid of what came out from under the units. We asked for an apartment high up as we thought it would reduce the chance of cockroaches - didn't work. The first 3 days - nothing. But then an infestation after that. 3 at once the night before we left!

Entertainment was awful. The usual - kiddies disco, bingo, dancing show. The disco bar where it was all held was disgusting - like a dirty old village hall. The seats were filthy the floor was always wet.

This place is an official 2 stars and I would say pretty good for 2 stars but wouldn't really give it anymore. They really need to update apartments and provide more entertainment, especially for teenagers. My 2 kids were so bored until they met up with another family, who were our saving grace!

Tamaimo Tropical hotel - paid all inclusive but food was bland and same stuff. If you wanted icecreams you had to go to restaurant for the small pots of icecream. All other varieties had to be paid for. Restaurant only open at set times of day for meals otherwise it was closed. No air conditioning in room. Towels we had used were hung up on back of bathroom door instead of being changed so on our return they were still wet. towels not provided for sunbathing so take your own. On day of departure no meals after breakfast cos you had to vacate your room for mid-day and lunch is not while one. Ended up waiting 9 hours for transfer back to airport no rooms available to extended so consider this.

We have visited these apartments before so knew what to expect. The rooms were cleaned every day except Sundays with clean towels every day even those that hadn't been used. There were plenty of restaurants and bars within the immediate area of the apartments. The staff were great and spoke an excellent standard of English. The entertainment was good and covered every age group. We will definitely be paying another visit at some point.

Booked an accomodation on arrival deal with Airtours, and ended up here. Room was a two bedroom apartment which was clean and spacious, although a little dated. Room cleaned daily except Sunday and towels changed if left in the bath.

Although plentiful the food was poor, with not a great selection and what there was on offer was pretty bland. Breakfast was the same, and every morning we had to find our own table, clear it, and then set it ourself.!

The location was fine, quiet with a few pubs outside with entertainment. The hotel entertainment was not up to much - typical hotel stuff.

The staff were polite and helpful with any queries that we had.

We would stay here again but on a self catering basis.

Booked Studio app but were given one bedroom app, very spacious, not much wardrobe space though. The hotel was very clean but parts were looking tired and drab, needed updating.

Rooms were cleaned daily apart from sunday, also clean towels daily. We were on the 3rd floor overlooking the street near the bars so it tended to be very noisy in the middle of the night, we had everything from bins being emptied, parties in the street and car engines revving up.

Just had a snooze in the afternoon to make up for it though. Didnt try the restaurant other guests we spoke to didnt give us a good impression of the dining room so just ate out.

The bar staff were more interested in chatting to the animation team than serving guests were made to feel a bit of an inconvenience interupting their social lives.

The animation team did no work at all while we were there, no kids club(and there were plenty going about), no entertaining at all.

The evening entertainment we didn't bother staying in for thanks to the not to nice bar staff.

We had actually booked and paid for a double room but on arrival on Tuesday they said they hadn't got any but they could give us two singles and move us on Friday, which they did.

On the Friday they gave us a key to a double room on the fourth floor, when we got in we were disappointed initially because there was no air conditioning (which there had been in the two single rooms) so we thought, what shall we do, shall we go back to the two singles but in the end decided to stay in the double, BAD DECISION!!

That night the noise was horrendous, kids running up and down the corridor all night, lifts rattling up and down, shouting and carrying on, and we could hear every word of a conversation in the room next door, the place reflected noise like a Roman Ampitheatre.

The next day we told the rep we couldn't stay in that room another night, and we got moved to a completely different apartment in Los Christianos. Having said that we did like the pools here, but I wouldn't go back there.

Went with a little trepidation to this hotel due to some adverse comments on this site but need not have worried. The Hotel and rooms very clean and well maintained, lovely pools and no hassle with sunbeds but may be a problem in high season.

Cockroaches not a problem, you see more around the outside bars in the main resort area. Went self catering plenty of crockery etc and rooms very spacious (we were in a 2 bedroomed apt) on ground floor.

No problem with security or noise. You can opt for half, full or all inclusive on a daily basis if you get sick of eating out or cooking, we went half board for a couple of days.

Loads to eat and plenty of choice, worth the money of 13 euros a day. Plenty of entertainment and varied. A very relaxing holiday and can be recommended however First Choice not using this hotel next year.

Would certainly go back again

We stayed in the Apartments which were very clean and spacious. We had maids come everyday and we were left clean towels.

The swimming pool was lovely and clean. The staff and cleaners were pretty friendly and there is nothing really to complain about. We didnt get any bugs in our room and the noise was kept very low at night time -Thanks to the security guards on patrol!

Also as we previously read, there were no security issues during our stay.

My husband and I stayed at the Taimamo for 1 week from 7 April 2006.

We are both in our late 20s and just wanted a relaxing, quiet week in the sunshine. This is definitely the place to do this. We arrived mid afternoon in the lovely sunshine.

We were very happy with the accomodation at the Taimamo. We stayed in a studio apartment which overlooked the large pool (there are 2 pools on different levels of the hotel). This was ample for us and was very comfortable, and the room was cleaned daily, with clean towels every second day, however, the maid is happy to give you clean towels if you ask her.

We were slightly concerned with the security issues highlighted and got a key for the safe deposit - we had no problems at all in this area, and felt very safe in the environment. They were also security staff on all day and night, and this is a very quiet and peaceful resort and we never witnessed anything to suggest any problems.

We never ate in the hotel as we were self catering, however, because of one days rain we did eat in the Al La Carte Restaurant which was really nice and great value for money.

The facilities in the hotel are excellent, with 2 pools, tennis, snooker tables, table tennis - even a hairdressers is you fancied a makeover.

Overall this was an excellent hotel and we would definitely go back again. You read so many reviews on this site and can get quite worried about where you are going to, but I find that some people will complain about things no matter where they are. Sure, the cleaning staff do tend to make a bit of noise about 7 in the morning when they are starting off their day, but they need to get their work done at some point ! But hey you are on holiday - just get up early for some fresh baked bread from the supermarket at the top of the stairs and then have a siesta in the afternoon sunshine if you are tired.

Wonderful holiday - can't wait to go again.

The hotel was very nice, the staff were friendly and polite. When we arrived we could'nt belive the size of our room its was a nice big room, with lots of space, with a fitted kitchen, and living area with a sette, also the beds were comfortable.

The maids were good but on 2 occasions they left the dirty towels in our room and forgot to change them, also forgot to make change the beds. But on the other hand was good.

We went to this hotel with resevations as we had seen all the bad reports, however we only payed for a studio and got an appartment with a view of one of the swiming pools which was very clean.

We did not eat at the hotel but used the kitchenet for breakfast snacks etc. The hotel was well situated providing you don't mind all the steps up to the supermarket etc.

We had little to do with the hotel staff but found them polite and helpful when needed.

All the locks have been changed to card entry type and the codes change weekly.

Plenty of security guards around.

Only down side if you get one of the rooms that face the road then you are in for a bit of noise. also the hotel is very open on the side facing the road and I think that there security issues with unauthorised access to the hotel. Play it wise and use the safe.

Use of the safe is expensive but its worth it.
Hotel has two swimming pools which are in two different wings of the hotel.

Pool boys are a little noisy in the early morning dooing their cleaning. Sun beds are chained up until 9am so there are no problems with certain people reserving there spots during the night.!

We stayed at this hotel for one week too long the room looked ok untill nighttime the lift went up and down most of the night, making a noices there was a big light above our balcony and the curtains didnt close all the way.

People could look over the side of the landing and be looking at us in our room not good. for a hotel that big you would expect more staff on the tiny bar that they have, beds were a joke.

If you are self catering make sure you take everthing with you including the kitchen sink. Very cheap to eat out. Route 66 bar very good make sure you see the live bands on every night (old dogs new tricks}the best band in the world.

You can't sleep untill bin men have been around one in the morning in if you are lucky the big trucks will wake you up two or three times a night.

116 steps to the chemist by then you need a doctor.

Upon arrival at the hotel, we were greeted with the news that we had not actually been booked in, however this was not a problem and we were quickly allocated a room on the 3rd floor.

When we reached the room the 1st thing that I noticed was the huge gaps in the balcony. It was wooden design with a diamond in the middle and our 20 month old could have easily got through the gap and fallen 3 floors...

I went straight back to reception and advised them that the room was not acceptable and without hesitation offered us a ground floor apartment.

The apartment itself was quite comfortable although the beds were terrible, we had a few issues with ants in the room and also the ceiling leaked on a night and the bathroom flooded every night. Nothing a few pans and towels couldnt resolve!!

The selection of food for the size of the complex was poor in my opinion, offering sprouts for breakfast?? Have I missed something? CHIPS CHIPS and more CHIPS - never a boiled mashed baked or roasted potato in sight! if you like veal and fish then its ideal however with 2 young children, its not easy to please everyone especially with very little choice. It was also very very repetative and there was no variation really from day to day.

The level of service was quite poor in the restaurant and the bar, you were either ignored or had to join a massive queue to get a drink as there was only ever one person behind the bar. Even during busy times. they seem to be understaffed in all areas except cleaners!!

The entertainment in the hotel was abysmal, as were the turns that they had on in an evening. Absolutely Nothing for the kids to do, the childrens playground was non existant and the crazy golf looked like it hadnt been touched for 10 years!! Overgrown with weeds and broken footpaths it was pretty bad!!

The pool areas were always clean and tidy however the pool was FREEZING!! Even when it was absolutely red hot it was like getting into an ice pool, the jacuzzi stated in the brochure is not free its 5 euros for 30 mins, ok you think but then the kids are wanting it all the time!!

Around the resort theres not much to do there is no beach but the scenery is beautiful. A few nice restaurants Ninos - fab with the kids and Aberdeen Steak House and also Little Italy in Los Gigantes is wonderful.

A bad choice if you have are disabled or have a young family / pushchair as there are steps and hills all over the place. To get to the nearest pharmacy you have to climb 117 or 118 cant remember steps or walk up a hill like a mountain - lost half a stone in those 2 weeks.

there was always a security guard on patrol which was reassuring as we were nervous about the reports of things being stolen however we didnt hear anything like that in 2 weeks.

Overall, I would not recommend this hotel as the location is poor, the food was lousy and the service was even worse - spend a bit more and go to a decent hotel that serves nice food and has waiters that arent rude and ignorant.

My friends and I read several reviews about The Tamaimo Tropical Apartments and were quite anxious as what to expect when we got there. However, as a group of girls in our twenties and having stayed in exclusive worldwide locations were plesently surprised by the Tamaimo Tropical.

We arrived late at night to be greeted by friendly staff. Apartment basic but clean. Great balcony view. A couple of problems with our key card however staff were extremely helpful and appologetic with it. Pool clean. Pool bar, nice food and good variety of drink open all day. You had to be down to the pool area to get a sun bed however this happens everywhere!! People get gready by taking up sun beds and not laying on them until they have returned from a day out!!

We found several of the local restaurants very nice, especially Ninos Italian, fabulous food, great service and yes we cant not mention Carlos!!
We also went into Los Gigantes several nights, taxis were reasonable and always available.

We would definatly return. Don't let some of the reviews put you off. Finally, cockroaches, we saw 1!! They live in hot countries!

Big up the Tamaimo Tropical!!

What a great holiday. The hotel was brilliantly situated, we had a disabled person with us. She had no problems whatsoever. The food was varied and very nice. The entertainment was different and varied. The staff couldnt have helped us more. Our little boy was poorly and needed the doctor on more than one occasion, the staff couldnt do more and made it personal. Keeping updated on how he was. The definately put their clients first. WELL DONE Tamaimo. We WILL definately stay there again.

This hotel has only air conditioning in half of it the part that has not been reburished is not recommended - to hot to sleep in at night and patio doors can be just lifted off the lock.

The Hotel is kept very clean but the the very noisy cleaners start before 7.00am. You will probably only have just got to sleep if in the wrong part of the hotel as the dustbins are emptied at 2.00am then for the next couple of hours you listen to P**'d people returning to their rooms.
Food - Breakfast very good - lunch/dinner one would always be good but seem to alternate - Snacks not worth having - burgers/hotdogs/chips pre cooked between meals and left warming.

The pools are very nice with life guard during peak times.

The Staff is what really let this hotel down with some making you feel a real nuisance and Very unfriendly. My thanks to the few bar staff who new how to have a laugh and made a big difference to the holiday.

If getting this as AI very cheap it is ok but is very expensive if Self Catering although you can pay while their to upgrade (quite resonable) AI drinks very good although do not include the slush puppies as stated on other website.

Do not know how First Choice can give this Hotel a Gold Star as stated in reception ??

Regarding the two issues of hotel and location, I would describe as 'unparallel'.
Whilst the hotel is second to none, its location is not worthy of revisiting.
'Tamaimo tropical' is a genuine reflection of its accommodation and is personally the best I've been to.
Rooms cannot be faulted and they overlook the pool area.
The beautiful setting of the pool area is what I recall most. It is well landscaped, with scattered palm trees. Although the circular layout of the apartments makes it enclosed, it is very spacious and relaxing with two large pools and a bar.

Room insufficiently equipped for self catering. Room supposed to be for 6 but not enough crockery or cutlery. Lots of furniture was damaged or broken. Door to room difficult to get through as it didn't fit properly. Patio doors to balcony-lock was dodgy and difficult to open-balcony looked out over hotels dustbins-which were emptied nightly between midnight and 4am noisily-but still got smells. Maid service was poor-if you weren't ready when she called she didn't come back until the next day.

Sunbeds were chained up every night and not unchained until 9am which meant you could still claim one without having to get up too early- unfortunately people were claiming them at 9am and not using them until 5pm so if you went down at lunchtime for a swim you couldn't get a bed!!!!

Hotel staff seem to start work at 7am every morning and make more noise than the kids running round the pool all day.

Definitely would not stop here again!!!!!!!!

The rooms only got a quick wipe round, the bedding was changed every 2/3 days. From the outside the accommodation looked ok, I have never gone on holiday and heared of so many people being broken into and having things stolen in my life, and yet the hotlel did nothing about it and even said you must pay for someone to speak to the police bacuse they wouldn't.

I would never go back to this accommodation though Los Gigantes is lush.

Room was more than adequate in size, but in much need of redecoration and refurnishing. The beds and sofa (which converts to a bed) were all very thin mattresses and quite tired looking. The furniture was quite worn and the kitchen cabinets falling to pieces. Fortunately we didn't need to use the kitchen as we were half board.

The food was not up to the standard we would have expected. There was choice of cereal, cooked English breakfast continental breakfast, ham and cheeses or fruit, but not a good selection of each of these categories. Evening meal had soup, salad bar, main meal chose of fish dish, meat dish, pasta dish, but all meat dishes tasted the same, chips at every meal, breakfast or dinner vegetables were usually 1 of carrots, runner beans, sprouts etc, desserts boring.

Saw a cockroach walking around the salad bar.

When glasses got broken in the dining room or around the complex including the pool, it was not cleaned away adequately and a number of people got cut on the glass.

No air conditioning in our room.

Entertainment very very limited.

Extortionate price for safe 45 Euros per fortnight

The hotel pools are lovely, but get up early, around 7am, to grab a sunbed as they disappear very quickly!

Be careful with your belongings however, and if you are in one of the rooms without air con, still keep your balcony door locked as two rooms on the 3rd and 4th floors were burgled while we were there. The security could be better.

The food in the hotel is not very nice, try the 'Aberdeen Steak House' just around the corner. Great food for about €5, and the friendly staff keep you entertained! The Chinese restaurant next door is also very good.

Hotel room was cleaned virtually every day, with clean fresh towels.

Hotel food left a lot to be desired unless of course you like sprouts, carrots and peas for breakfast. Menu was not varied, far too much repetition of the same food.

Some descent pubs around the corner, however if you wanted more life you need to go elsewhere ie Los Gigantes

Hotel staff where fine

Entertainment was virtually non existent, constant queueing at the bar, prices double of that in the pubs

I was an allocation on arrival and had no choice, but I would certainly not choose to stay at this hotel

We stayed in the newer part of the hotel on the 4th floor. It had air con, but we thought you could do without it at night, because it got cool. Door had credit card lock on which was new.(Felt safe and secure in room).

Beautiful pools,(2 to choose from), cleaned every morning, plus a lifeguard! New sun beds came, also brollies still had price tags on! Constantly upgrading.

Too crowded in hotel at night to enjoy the entertainment, plus drinks were twice the price of the bars outside.

The food was fabulous, as were the staff, don't think they repeated the menu once!

Only downsides if any, you must be fast to get a brolly with your beds in the morning, because you will need one, it gets VERY HOT!!!!

Apartments in need of decorating the two bedroom is a very good size. The kitchen breakfast bar is all chipped off so not good when preparing food.

The cleaning of the apartments was not really very good just a quick brush around if you were lucky.

The entertainment could be alot better needs bingo or disco for the children most nights it was a singer.

We were very disappointed in the coldness of the swimming pool it said heated but there was hardly any heat whatsoever! That was one of the reasons I choose the accomodation. The pools were very clean and well kept.

Saved whole year for Xmas break, arrived on Xmas eve. On arrival the rep advised us to get a safety deposit box, due to a room being broken into previous night. We paid 46 euros for the safe for our 2 week stay.

We placed our belongings in the safe, a few days later we went to the safe to find our money was missing, nothing else was missing just every penny in the safe (over £800), our mobiles, passports and bank cards were left exactly as we had placed them. They had even closed our wallet, and placed it back. We went to reception and spoke to the rep, who told us that this had never happened before. The manager was our translator to the police, the problem was that the police could not do anything as there was no breaking and entering, the room had been entered with a key, and the safe had also been entered with a key.

The hotel would not take any responsibility all they did was offer to move us to another room, which took two days for them to do, so we had to spend two nights in the room, scared because someone obviously had a key. We found the rep was not helpful at all, he did nothing to help, it was ourselves who asked the hotel manager to move us.

The rep also told us that this had never happened before, but it had, we met another gent who had been robbed, and we heard a lady shout out late one night "help someone’s stolen my bag", and this was outside the room we had been staying in before we were moved.

We spent one whole day at the police station because we needed a report for our insurance purposes. Nobody helped us and we had no other means of money, our holiday for which we saved a year for was ruined, we spend the rest of the holiday worried and scared that someone could get access to our room at anytime.

Decided to get away for Christmas and New Year, and chose this particular hotel, because we were two couples we decided to get a studio, never again.

On arrival one couple were allocated a room which still had the maids cleaning things and there was dirty pots in the sink and the reps board was in there as well, they were not impressed. Asked to be moved and were, but then the fridge didn't work so had to use the other couples fridge until we could report it, reported to the rep, no use, after two days we complained, but they said the rep had'nt reported it, anyway it was fixed, so we could finally relax.

There is building work just in front of the hotel, but not a nuisance. The restaurants are pretty good, Aberdeen steak house, The english bar, wasn't keen on the chinese though. Los Gigantes was more lively and Playa Del La Arena.

Had a good holiday but wouldn't go again, if you book it will be worth to pay extra for a one bedroom apartment, because the studios are like little boxes and not much to see out of the window, none of them had balconies.

I went to this Hotel with my family, as an All Inclusive package.

The rooms were fine, a bit basic but generally quite clean. Maids visited every day, to change towels and make the beds.

The food was alright, quite a selection, althouugh it was repeating the same stuff every day. I wasn't impressed by Christmas Dinner however. We were told that if we payed $56 or so, we would get something called a 'Gala Dinner'. Although In the end, we all ended up eating in the same Dining room, and the majority of people eating there, hadn't payed a penny. Not Impressed, at all.

You had to get up at like, 6am to manage to get a sun bed. There were alot of kids running round, and so you could never really get any peace and quiet, which I wasn't happy about.

The entertainment was pretty good on a night, some good singers. You had to get there early to be able to get a table however, or you would be stood around, or trying to share a table.

I don't think I would visit there again. I did enjoy It and I met some nice people. The thing that ruined it most for me was the kids, and the noise. Also the building site at the front of the building wasn't exactly attractive. And, tehre wasn't much to do.. no beaches to go to, and the ones that were near, were all black.

There is a phone and access to the internet in the hotel, which is good if you want to contact someone at home. It was 1 euro for 10 mins on the computers, but If you walked up to the village, There was an internet cafe called "@" and It was much much cheaper there.

All In all, It was a reasonable holiday. It didn't impress me as much, But I wouldn't say it was bad.

The hotel was very nice and clean . The swimming pools and the public areas were very well kept.

Parking was quite easy and we managed to find a space outside the hotel each day.

The reception staff were very helpful and informative and advised us on various boat trips.

There was building work going on but we didnt find it too noisy however fellow guests were quite noisy late at night which was a bit of a problem.

My boyfriend and I decided to go on holiday for the first time last year as a treat for passing all our exams and so we decided to go to the Taimimo Tropical apartments in Tenerife.

We got a good deal on a weeks stay which suited our fairly tight budget! We arrived late at the hotel but our room was not far away and we settled in straight away!

It was very hot in the room and the fan we hired was really not very good but we managed. Room size was perfect for the two of us and the balcony had a great view of one of the pools. We liked the fact there was a jacuzzi but it was a pain trudging back to the reception to get tokens for it to make it work!

Never had any probs with the staff except their English was not that great but the fab rep we had more than made up for that.

Hotel has building work on two sides; our side faced onto the restaurant block and can be noisy. Our room had no air con; you will need a fan because it’s so hot! You can hire one for 35 euros 10 deposit from fans r us. Restaurants around the hotel are quite cheap, Aberdeen steak house, san friscos is excellent. Take a walk or taxi into los gigante for your evening entertainment, bars, restaurants, shops and the harbour.

The hotel room was clean but basic. Think this hotel has seen a lot of action in the previous few years and it shows.

We where unfortunate that there was a lot of noise from other guests at night, and from the locals on Sat night, difficult if you want to be up early to get a sun bed!!! Dawn breaks at about 7.45, and yes towels are already on sunbeds. To get a decent sunbed you must be down by 9am otherwise you take what's left. Plenty of sunbeds, just not enough space for them all.

Room was cleaned everyday except Sunday. Tv in room could pick up 3 English progs, BBC News24, CNN and a German Station English service news programme.

Food at the Hotel Restaraunt was OK, slightly more expensive than outside, but more space and not the rush. The drinks and food at the pool are sky high, a G&T and a Coke €7.50, you wont be getting drunk on those prices.

Still building work going on round about the site and some more soon to start, at the moment not to intrussive but could become so.

Remember to take towels for your sunbeds, none are provide, but you can buy them locally for €5.50 each.
