Found the hotel clean but very much in need of bringing into the 21st century.

The rooms were a good size but no coffee or tea making facilities.

The air conditioning was of little or no use whatsoever, trying to take a shower meant having to stop the shower curtain wrapping itself around you the whole time.

The kissing and shaking of hands every time you entered the dining room was a little over the top, the meals seemed a little exotic for my liking.

The waiters seemed to favor the regulars, the service in the entertainment area in the evening was very poor and glasses and bottles were left on the table for long periods due mainly to lack of staff.

Did not use the hotel entertainment due to most of it being provided by Thompson reps who were just not up to the task.

Found a little bar right next door called tgs which had entertainment on every evening not a very big place but created a very good atmosphere every evening.

This was the third time we had been to this hotel. Nothing much has changed. Room was nice and clean and plenty big enough. Food i am afraid to say had gone down in standard(alright if you like chicken) as there was chicken on the menu every night.
Staff were friendly and help full except for one waiter at the pool bar (think he needed a humor transplant as we did not see him smile once the whole two weeks).
Entertainment was OK. The Thompson entertainment crew were brilliant got as many people involved as they could and chatted to as many people as they could.

First visit to this hotel and was very pleased with our choice. No complaints at all, food was good, rooms very comfortable and clean, staff were polite and helpful, plenty of sunbeds all day long, location is to die for. Best of all NO KIDS! Hotel entertainment is OK and there are several bars nearby that provide entertainment. Excellent 2 weeks holiday, we will return.

Returned from a cruise and stay holiday two days ago. We chose this hotel on recommendation, and found that for the most part everything was fine. If all the staff were as courteous as the Manager, it would have been wonderful.. It bacame apparent that many people came back year on year, and for these people they got the 'treatment', for us newcomers we were made to feel like outsiders. The waiters were the most miserable that we had ever come across, we ended up 'every time' clearing our own tables away so there was room for our next course, shouldn't happen in 4* hotel. Entertainment was dire, we went to the local bars in the village which was much better, and the lads and girls in Paddy's 3, were great and chatted to us oldies (63,60,59 and 58), Jo ran a bar in the marina, and she was lovely too.
Food was great as far as we were concerned, the room overlooking the marina and village was large and clean, beware of the camera shops to the right of the hotel, you could well pay over the odds for cameras and accessories, as we found to our cost after going into Las Americas, where we found the same for one third of what we paid, and that was just for a memory card!!! The quietness of the pool was great and that was something we had never experienced before, getting a sunbed was difficult, although they were all empty, and had been for about three hours, but all had towels on them, thought it was only the Germans who did this !! obviously not, management really do need to inforce this, after all they do stipulate that this does not happen. the queue to get the sunbeds at the crack of dawn was amazing, so the staff know it happens. Sounds awful, but I think we were really spoiled on our Thomson Destiny cruise, but we would go back again, we did not see one lager lout and that was really refreshing.

Having previously holidayed in Thomson Gold accommodation and having heard we booked a ten day holiday in this hotel.
The hotel looks decidedly tired despite a reecent refit. Our room E20 was spacious and reosonably furnished and the bathroom had toothbrushes, toothpaste, shampoos and soaps.
The pool area was a veritable sun trap however there was a lack of availiable loungers due to the morning towel reservation run.
The food was plentiful and well presented however there was a lack of variety and apart from the presence of a "cockroach" among the champagne glasses at breakfast time then I would not have had any cause for comment, the manager also informed me that another guest had report a cockroach among the bread. A bottle of cheap "Cava" Brut delivered to the room does not buy any favours.
The waiters were all mature males and seem to be well acquainted with the majority of the quests, some of whom from overheard conversations, have returned year on year for up to 12 years, my wife and I found them somewhat aloof.
The evening entertainment was indifferent and most quests including those on return visits migrated to the bars adjacent to the hotel entrance that provided a variety of local singers and the drinks were cheaper. This is the only hotel were I have ever had to pay, it cost 2 euros, to play a game of table tennis. Daytime entertainment consisted mostly of boules, skittles and golf, not very inspiring.
Would I recommend the hotel to others, probably not , the experince with the cockroaches says it all, would I return definitly not.

The hotel staff are very welcoming and nothing is too much trouble. The rooms are a good size and are clean, and the beds are changed regularly.
We found the entertainment very weak, since the majority of it was the Thomson rep entertainment team who did brilliantly in the daytime activities, but the evenings left a lot to be desired. We found excellent entertainment, however, at Route 66 in Puerto Santiago, a 3 euro taxi ride away, in the form of a rock duo called Old Dogs New Tricks. They made our holiday.
The food in the hotel is generally very good, although we did find the need to visit a Chinese Restaurant round the corner on one occasion for a change, and the food there was absolutely delicious. The sandwiches in the snack bar were extremely nice and very reasonably priced.
There was always a sunbed rush early in the morning, although if you went down to breakfast and took your towels, there were always some beds left. The salt water pool is lovely and warm and swimming is a pleasure.
Generally this is an excellent hotel, but its downfall in my opinion was the lack of variety in entertainment.

Hotel very clean, Staff polite. Food good.

We booked this holiday well in advance, January '07 to be told by our travel agency that this hotel was fully booked except for a suite and one superior room. Our friends had the suite and we had the superior, which we have always know to be very good rooms. Our friends had a fab room (510 ), which had the full works. Two balconies, two huge bedrooms and lovely lounge, spa bath and a shower with jets. Didn't have tea and coffee, or bathrobes but s great view and quite room.Very slightly more than what we had paid for.
We were taked to our room by the General Manager, who told us that as this room was low down we would not need to use the air conditioning, as the sun did not get to it. (G07) was the opposite to our friends' room. This 'Garden Room is through the sitting and lobby rooms and then down the stairs,on the corner, under the restaurant with all the noise, people coming by all the time to get to the pool, no privacy, no net type curtains, on full veiw to all and sundry. Air conditioning unit very old and near the patio doors and very noisy.Cockroche on the patio because the gardens were so close I suppose. We were advised to put a towel across the door at night time by the next door neighbour to stop the bugs coming in.The bathroom fairly grotty and definately old.
I complained to the managers and was told to see the hotel Thomson Gold rep in the morning. As we were tired from the journey and a long day I couldn't be bothered to argue. The room was clean at least.
The next morning, before the Thomson rep started the one hour long talk, I collared her and told her the problem. We went to the desk and eventually I was given a set of keys to a room on the 8th (top) floor. I was told that the room might have a bit of noise from the clubs and the streets as it overlooked the town. However, I do believe that this was a standard room and the only difference is the fact that tea, coffee, safe and bathrobes are provided to then state it is a 'superior room'. I suggested to the Thomson rep that she came and had a look but she said that ther hotel management frown upon it so they are not allowed to look. That must therefore be because they can then see that there is very little difference between the standard and supirior rooms...rest asure thougth that there is with a suite...they are lovely.
Yes, the room was not what we are used to, but once we had settled into it the veiws over the town, marina and swimming pools were fine. There was noise from the clubs but with doors shut it was only a drone. It became quite interesting watching all the comings and goings of the holiday makers and the locals.
The food was good, as expected for a four star Thomson Gold. We liked everything we ate and there was a brilliant choice. King Prawns to die for!
A demonstration of how to make Paella and sangria very interesting and we got to eat that too for 4 euros.
The greed of the English Holiday makers with the sunbeds and towels made me cross and I told the managers that they should put a stop to it as it is in the hotel rules. They need to do stick to their rules as lots of people went from one pool to the other using towels to reserve sunbeds at both pools. Some had the towels on at 7am. Lots were left for three or four hours at a time.
The entertainment was very much for the fify's plus, but o.k.The resident two chaps were very camp, but were good at singing and playing a electronic keyboard. There was a brilliant band taking off the Beetles and the Thomson reps were very hard working all the time, singing and quizzes all the time.
The hotel is spotlessly clean but built in 1968, I think,so don't expect it to be modern looking. The gardens are extremely well kept and the staff are very polite.
Mt.Teide is a must. Go with Thomson from the hotel. The reason is that although it is a very early start...7am, it is worth it. You will get to the mountain and cable cars before all the millions of cars and other coaches. We got to the top at 9am and it was bliss. Take a jumper and sensible shoes as it does get chilly. Plus it was 41 degrees when we were at Los Gigantes and only 3 degrees at Teide. Then you are back at the hotel by 1pm.
The Whales and Dolphin trip is brilliant too. We saw families of the mamuals and Barry had done 17,000 trips and knows his stuff. Champange and salmon amongst lots of other food provided on the three hour boat trip. Make sure you go on the smaller catermeran with Barry. It is more informative and not crowded like the other cats.
The market at Los Christianos is like most markets abroad. Selling the normal rubbish, plus other bits that attract holiday makers. It is a market geared to the holiday makers, not the locals. We bought proper Panama hats from the market and they are fantastic value. Cheaper than the shops out there too.
Be aware of the camera shop near the cafe area of Los Christanos. It has a show of cameras in a display that sticks out of the shop at the front. It is ran by two Indian chaps, along with other gifts. DONT BUY A CAMERA OR SHOW INTEREST. We looked at a Sony digital 10mp one and were quite happy to have it and a reasonable price. We handed over our card to pay for it and then he said if we paid cash he could do a good deal with the extras we needed for it, such as a hard case and higher memory stick. We thought it was a good idea. Then we were passed on to another chap while the card was going through who was supposed to show us all the working of the camera. He then proceeded to get out another camera from a display unit and tried to tell us that this other model was better than what were were going to buy. Without going into the full details, we wanted to get the police involved but were short on time with having come on a paid for bus trip.We ended up with this more expensive camera that we didnt want.It is not as good as the Sony one and on Ebay they are half the price we paids for it.My husband has not been well and he was getting very adgerated at the time and I didnt want him having another funny turn away from home.So the warning is don't buy a Fujian 12mp camera and only go to a Sony camera shop...as we were told at a later date.

We had a very hair raising experience with a white merc taxi from Los Christanos to Los Gigantes on one day. He was doing 120km most of the time and falling asleep going along. That is 100% true! I was in the front and the three others in the back..one in tears. We couldn't get out as there was no villages in between and only motorways. He was more on the wrong side than the right. He was breaking and excellerating, very jerky and rubbing his head all the time. I tried to tell him to go and have a sleep when he dropped us off...our friends went and had a brandy!
Remember to take taxi numbers to report any problem...which we didn't get the number as we were all in shock.

Apart from that, we did have quite a good holiday with our friends, but I cannot say that I would go back to this hotel, mainly due to its location.
Hope I haven't bored you, but these things you need to know...it will make good conversation with our family and friends once we have climatised to all this rain.41 degrees in the day and 25 at night is quite different to all this rain. Happy Holidays!

we must say after reading some of the reviews was a bit worried about this hotel.
no need to though hotel and rooms were fab had a good sea view food was excellent so much choice you must be a picky eater if you dont like the food offered. as far as we are concered it was to die for the sweet selection the sea food every thing was fab. we have come back pounds heavier thats how good it was

there was a good variety for breakfasts cereals porridge bacon eggs you name it was there. There were not just pensioners there there were young couples families with children over 16 of course it was great

must admit the location was quiet but thats what we went for entertainment was ok the entertainment team tried there best to get every one involved i think they did an excellent job. staff in hotel brilliant well done they go that extra mile for you why not go and see for yourself. would go back again and will recomend it to my friends

Had a wonderful time at Los Gigantes Hotel. Reports about this hotel can be worrying to read but we found no problems at all. The hotel was clean, the food was varied and enjoyable and anything you asked for they tried to provide. The staff were almost the best hotel staff we have met. So polite and courteous. Always taking the time to stop and chat and be as helpful as possible. The manager was a wonderful man who treats his guests as though they are family, such a lovely man. The entertainment (contrary to other reports) was fine. Granted it isnt top class, but this is a holiday resort where the entertainment is geared to the majority not individuals so not everyone is going to be happy all the time, and we felt the Thomson reps did a great job, working hard and with enthusiasm and dedication.
We won't visit this hotel again; not because we didn't like it but because of its location.

just got back from this hotel.Found the hotel to be very clean and tidy.Bedrooms are in need of refurbishment, very drab and old fashioned.

Ate in the restaurant only once, found food to be very bland and not of very good quality considering this to be a 4 star hotel, also buffet service, ate out the rest of the time.

hotel staff on the whole very curteous and helpful except for two waiters, one from the restaurant and one from the bar, both of them need to go on a people management course, both very rude.

entertainment during the day was good with a series of games and quizzes, the rep,s done a good job keeping guests entertained. The evening entertainment was quite good with some professional acts brought in but i must admit some of them were quite naff.

No i would not visit this hotel again mainly because of the food. Also, even though my partner and myself are 50 & 47 years old we felt quite young among the golden oldies and felt this was more of an old timers hotel, also beware, the towels start appearing on the sunbeds at 7.30am sharp by very selfish people who then go to breakfast and then dont occupy them until about 9.30am and in one instance a reserved bed was not used for the whole day, come on hotel management enforce your rules.

Well, what can I say? The hotel is wonderful, we asked for and got a top floor ,quiet room, 8th floor actually, views overlooking the sea one way and cos it was a corner room, stunning views of the mountains with the waves crashing onto the rocks below !!

The staff are very attentive, too much so to be honest, in the restaurant the staff shake hands with the men and kiss the women EVERY time. Its OK the first time when you arrive but believe me by the end of the week we were trying to avoid all this contact. I personally couldn't help thinking about all the germs that were being passed from one person to another. There was a lot of "oh its SO good to be back " and which point Tomas himself would rush over and yet more kissing and hand shaking would take place !! Did they really think he remembered them ? That's why the hotel only employs male staff in the restaurant, The older ones lap it up but it does get on your nerves!!

The pool area is fine, plenty of sun beds but yes you guessed it a steady or not so steady stream of people putting out their towels long before breakfast and then going out for the day on the bus !! The last day there it rained and they were STILL claiming their beds !!

Beware of the glass of champagne round the pool in the morning its not " a nice touch " but a whopping 2.20 euros a glass ! The drinks in the hotel were expensive, we have already paid over the odds for a Thomson Gold hotel without being ripped off when get a drink !!

The hotels charges 2euros for a tiny bottle of beer that costs 75cents in its OWN supermarket, many people who sat by the pool " nipped " out for a drink to TJ's next to the hotel where its only 1euros a pint between 11am and 3 pm. Later on in the day 3pm til 8 pm its only one euro down by the harbour at Churchill's bar.

WE only went back to hotel twice for the entertainment but wished we hadn't bothered, to say it was poor is being kind, very kind.

Would we go back? Possibly in a couple of years, as long as we can avoid the waiters !!

The Hotel is in a lovely location, and is very clean, all the public area are well kept and decorated.

Sadly the room cleanliness needs a little tightrening up, look behind your sliding bathroom door and in the bowel of the toilet brush!

The food is excellent, some have said there aren't any sweets but that is not true - it's just that there is only one sweet display - near the main door for both sides of the buffet. There is also always a typical English hot sweet. The food is hidden all around the dining room, as done to make life interesting for the monkeys at the zoo!

Sadly some "Golden Years" Person was not honest enough to hand in our brand new with a half finished scrabble game that we inadvertantly left behind.

This hotel is basically very good.

Everything about it is very good. The management obviously want to please, just go along to the cocktail party with the managers. They have all been their donkeys years. If you fancy this hotel then go.

However there are some points that you may want to consider-

1-The food is excellent BUT bland ! It is aimed at some archetyple Brit who dosen't like flavour. ( no garlic, herbs, onions or salt).

2-The Canary theme night is the exception.

3-The night with waiter service is a nice touch & well worth doing for free.

4-If you want a sea view you must book it in the UK.This is the only change the manager said he could
not do.

5-If you are over 6feet tall watch your head in the lounge on floor E.

6-The entertainments are poor.

7-Best value bar outside is Luis in the square.

Stayed on the 5th floor with sea view, weather was excellent, food was very good with good choices as I am a diabetic.

Entertainment was poor but this was no fault with the Thomson reps as they were very enthusiastic but the house band cocktail were the worst duo I have ever seen.

Both pools were very clean.

The staff could not be faulted nothing was too much trouble for them, and we will definitely be returning.

First impressions of the hotel were very good, largely due to it's size and grand entrance.

The staff were very polite and helpful. The welcome meeting on arrival with the complimentary glass of wine was a nice touch.

The hotel was extremely clean, the room was a good size although not very fancy. We had booked for a sea view room which was worth it but we found out later that the views from the other side of the hotel are just as good.

We had booked a late check out room due to our late flight home but were very disappointed to have to change rooms on the last day.

The food was disappointing, we ate out quite a lot. The food was hot but the choices not very inspiring. We found the dining room too big and noisy, not a nice atmosphere and many of the guests were in too much of a rush, after all there was plenty for everyone. Breakfast time was like a stampede.

The early morning rush for sun beds was also incredible, those guests who return there year after year worked the system perfectly, strangers were not popular if they got one first, you would think these people owned the place. The annoying thing was that they put their towels out at 7.30 am then did not use the beds till later on in the day. The hotel should really in-force the rules that they state in their guidelines.

The location of the hotel was pleasant and the resort quiet. The people who go there are, to put it politely, very reserved.

I cannot recommend the hotel entertainment unless you are over 80 but there are some quite entertaining acts on in other venues nearby.

All in all we had a relaxing break but we found the hotel to big and impersonal with an unwelcoming atmosphere, although this was not the fault of the hotel staff.

The idea to not allow children is an excellent one and there were adults of all ages there but most activities are aimed at pensioners.

We would not go again.

My wife and I stayed at Los Gigantes Hotel on December 2005.It was a very relaxing holiday for the two of us.

An excellent hotel, very clean , very helpfull staff, very good food, and very good entertaiment although the evening shows could be improved a little.

The resident duo "Cocktail"where just amaizing, We like to enjoy good music, relaxing with a drink, and They made our nights magic!
They had a style and personality of their own.

Tomas in the restaurant ( WHAT A CHARACTER ) he was funny, charming and helpfull.

In a few words, Wonderfull Hotel for people who like a touch of class.

If you're the yahoo!!! tipe, go somewhere else.

The hotel cleanliness was excellent, however the bedrooms were somewhat dated but very spacious.

The food in general I felt was not deserving of a 4 star establishment, many of the dishes were tepid and breakfast was a free for all, very regimental run with alot of clanging of crockery during mealtimes.

One small piece of advice for anybody contemplating the complimentary waiting service given by Thomson for one evening meal only (do not go!)Butlins during the 70s comes to mind, please Thomson's drop this option!

The location of the hotel was faultless despite being over the foyer of the hotel and 7 storeys up.

Hotel staff were rather sombre and appeared to be on edge(under the watchful eye of the hotel manager)

Entertainment for a 4 star hotel was very poor especially the duo Cocktail.

Thomson solely caters for the 65+ in this establishment my partner and I are mid 40s and appeared to be the youngest there at the time!

Please please re format your ideas regarding the Los Gigantes hotel, we totally love the couples only idea but less Saga please.

Just returned from Los Gigantes hotel very clean our maid was very friendly but found the staff a little false. It appeared that hotel manager was always watching over them so they are on edge.

A lot of repeat guests feel the same when speaking to peolple during our stay. Thomson staff very helpfull put in a lot of hard work trying to plse us all.

Their Reps show was a good nights entertainment.

Me and my wife Kerry have not long come back from our honeymoon at the Los Gigantes Hotel and loved it. The reps do an excellent job in keeping you entertained during the day and night and the resident band Cocktail are brilliant, they make each song their own. A lot of the entertainment was repeated on a week to week basis by the Thomson Gold Production Team, but they do work very hard and should be given a chance.

The food was excellent and the staff are friendly and very good at what they do and that goes for all areas of the hotel. The manager is always around and is always happy to talk to you and listen to what you have to say.

The pools are great and I mainly kept to the salt water pool as it worked wonders for my tan, however, the fresh water one is very cooling.

The views from the hotel are excellent or La gomera and the cliffs and the sun setting in the evening makes for a romatic meal in the diner (ask for window seat) or sit on the balcony and watch it set. We will without a doubt go back to this excellent hotel and

This was the first time abroad together for my husband and I (A very belated honeymoon) and we were not disapointed. The Los Gigantes Hotel surpassed our expectations.

The Hotel was spotless and the staff brilliant. Lots of choices of food and rooms really spacious and clean - maid service every day.

We originally booked a superior room - but most of these are on garden level and are quite shaded and not very private due to path leading to freshwater pool.

We asked to be moved to a higher floor and were given a room on the 8th floor. We had fantastic view over cliffs and although facing the car park and bar in the grounds we didn't find the noise a problem.

Balcony doors shut out the noise when closed and rooms have air con so if you fancy an early night theres no problem.

Pools area was great and pool very clean. Entertainment left a lot to be desired and after about 2 nights of it we had enough but there are plenty of bars outside which are relaxing but with better entertainment.

As we travelled in June we were by no means the youngest (we are in our 30's) but were lead to believe that in the winter months the age range is a lot older.

We would definately visit this hotel again it was perfect.

Los Gigantes was recommended to us by the travel agent whilst we were looking for a late booking and we haven't been disappointed with our holiday. The points I am going to raise are not so much grumbles, but hopefully comments that will help you decide whether or not to stay here.

Firstly, the average age of residents is probably in the 40's with no under 16's (I think) permitted to stay. Although there were a few younger couples that seem to be arriving in the last few days that we were there. This gives the hotel a relatively relaxed and peaceful environment, especially the pool area, which was exactly what we were looking for.

The entertainment was good, Blakjack were replaced whilst we were staying (they were awaful) and the new resident band Cocktail are very good. The reps work very hard at providing a quality level of entertainment and the highlight of our stay was the rep caberet act which was outstanding - and great fun.

The food was good with a good selection, but we found that it was better to get to dinner early because the cold buffet got quite - shall we say - tired - towards the end of the sitting. The hotel staff were brilliant, all the plaudits that you read in these reviews are not misplaced, and the rooms clean and airy.

This was booked as a late deal and we had no idea we would be at this hotel.

We cannot fault this hotel, the management were brilliant when we arrived very late. The rooms were very clean and well maintained. The sea view was fabulous, an ideal location for a quiet relaxing holiday.

Food was very good in particular the gala dinner. The entertainment could be better but plenty of local bars also with entertainment if you wish to venture out. The hotel bar is well stocked and drinks are reasonably priced, unusual for a 4 star hotel.

The weather was brilliant and two lovely pools to sit around, although something should be done about people reserving sun beds, even though it asks you not to in the hotel information. Perhaps a member of staff removing these towels would do the trick.

We had a great holiday and wished we have been there for two weeks. Many of the other guests we spoke to have been to this hotel several times and we would certainly return.

Lovely Hotel, truly excellent staff - nothing is too much trouble.

Rooms very good - very clean - maid service excellent.

Food also excellent with loads of choice including a special table for people who have a dietary need (eg. diabetes).

Entertainment in hotel truly diabolical! 1 star is giving it too much really. We had two very good comedians on, a flamenco show and a tribute band which were all excellent but that was 4 shows in 14 nights! We did have Riverdance - a tribute to Michael Flatley - well he needn't worry - it was really awful - so much in fact we couldn't stop laughing!

Thomson Gold entertainment is a joke here. We stayed in The Yaramar (Thomson Gold) Fuengirola and it was so professional - better than a cruise ship - but here- forget it. 0ne night Bing Crosby records - I ask you. Another a Eurovision Song Contest Quiz and they were the good nights - so out to the bars instead.

That was one blight on the holiday the other was the dreaded sunbeds - every morning with their towels - apparently the pool isn't opened until 8.00 am so they put their towels in a queue by the door early and then go back! Beggars belief. They really have to do something about this!

As mentioned in another review the clientele is of an age - we are in our 50s and felt positively youthful - no bad thing though. Would go back though if we got a good enough deal.

The hotel Los Gigantes and its facilities (including staff) are excellent.

Unfortunately there is a pub on the grounds in front of the hotel which blasts out extremely loud music from 8 o'clock at night to 10 minutes after midnight. Therefore it is advisable to pay the supplement for a sea view at the rear to the hotel.

The hotel furniture is in need of a little refurbishment in some of the public areas but is really clean and tidy.

The staff are extremely polite and cant do enough to help. English is spoken by all and even the General Manager will lug your cases around if he is about when you arrive.

The restaurant is fantastic. There is usually 7 choices of main course on the buffet dinner but some of the items are cooked fresh in front of you. Take the free opportunity to dine on the a la carte menu once a week as the standard is superb. Talking about the restaurant I must mention the Head waiter Thomas and the Restaurant Manager Orlando. These blokes ouse customer service and any 5 star restaurant in Britain would be happy to see these guys working there.

The rooms are spotless and maintained by the chambermaids to a high standard. They are in need of a little refurbishment but it wouldnt spoil your holiday in anyway.

The downside. Being a Thomson Gold Hotel means it is aimed at the over 50's and the entertainment reflects that. The current house band is truely appalling. They have one set of music that they play twice a night at 20.30pm to 21.30pm amd 23.00pm to 00.00. You can set your watch by what song they are singing.Neither can hold a note and the bar empties at 2300pm when they play their second set. I know that many people complained to the Thomson reps about them but as they are booked by the Hotel Management they are stuck with them.

Other entertainment provided on some occassions is ok but the Thomson Gold productions are also appalling.

We are fussy about where we stay and the quality of the food we eat, I can recommend it to anyone thinking of going. We might go again along as that appalling band are not still there!!

Fantastic hotel in many ways. Rooms were spacious and tastefully decorated. Cleaned & maintained very well.

2 pools, one with entertainment and other for people who want to relax. Could not fault the hotel grounds which were well kept/clean. Beautiful views of the cliffs as well.

Food was excellent! Such an extensive choice which catered for special diets as well. We really looked forward to meal times! No need to eat out of the hotel as it was always supurb.

Staff were lovely; always pleased to see you and made an effort to get to know every guest. Really seemed to enjoy their jobs!

Entertainment wasn't so good, but we weren't bothered. It was always packed out by guests and people from outside, so you needed to get there early!

We went to the beach once and it was miserable looking, so we stayed by the pool everyday which was nice. Although the weather wasn't very good in April, the hotel was such a joy to be at and I am a sun-worshipper so that's saying a lot. We would definately go back to this hotel in the future.

A great hotel in a great location, this is Tenerife at its best, stripped back to its core with a low key nightlife and fantastic views the hotel offers a relaxing break.

From our room we had great views of the ocean and the cliffs. The food was fresh and easy to eat, the staff friendly and always happy to help.

A great getaway for anybody looking to relax.

The Hotel Los Gigantes is excellent and situated in one of the most magnificant of locations. Views from the hotel out to sea towards the island of La Gomera provide the perfect contrast with the black rock cliffs that surround the resort. The town of Los Gigantes although relatively intimate does provide quite a good selection of restaurants and entertainment venues so it is possible to have a change of scene from the hotel fare. There is plenty of scope for taking walks in and around the area and for going on boat trips from the beautiful harbour. The town and surrounding area is quite hilly and as a consequence might be unsuitable for the less mobile. Taxis are available from just outside the hotel and both public service and tour buses to many locations stop for passengers about 200 metres from the hotel.
