These apartments were sold to private owners last year and they have been totally refurbished. They are very secure and safe, with intercoms recently being installed in May 2006. The apartments are spacious, clean and really well presented.

We stayed in apartment 320 Azahara the website address for this apartment is www.cristianos-apartments.co.uk, it has all the home comforts, including English TV, DVD, CD Player, electric BBQ Grill, Electric Toast sandwich maker, kettle, Toaster, Hotplates, Microwave, Water cooler. Hair Dryer, Straighteners, etc,. Absolutely brilliant.

I have just come back from a week in Tenerife.

This apartment complex is now all apartments privately owned. There is no reception area or food, drink or entertainment area which is great as there is absolutely no noise at night and I got great sleep. We stayed in apartment 415 and rented it from the owner -she has a website www.suntenerife.co.uk

We absolutely loved it - The studio apartment was massive and had everything we needed even a TV, HiFi & DVD player -they even had a selection of Cds and DVDs for us to use. Not that we sat in any night as we had lots of bars and restaurants just a 5 minute walk away.

I can particularly recommend the Mary Rogans pub -the singer was brilliant and we heard Daniel O'Donnell sometimes sings there. My daughter has just booked to go with her young kids as this place is really safe for kids and has a lovely pool area. The washing machine in the apt means she can get the kids clothes washed and dried on the balcony.

Nearly forgot the best thing about the apartment was the views -stunning from the moment you walk in the door right overlooking the beach -I was very content sitting on the balcony reading, with a glass of wine.

10/10 for this apartment I am booking to go again .

My partner and myself visited these apartments, I have been abroad a few times before but it was my partners 1st time out of the UK, compared to other apartments I have stayed in these were exceptionally clean and quite spacious, my partner could not believe how hot it was or the view of the sea from the balcony!!!! (he still has the picture as a screensaver on his phone)

The only fault was with the reception staff, they just didn't seem interested in you, yet the cleaning staff were lovely and really friendly??

There was no entertainment in the apartments with it being the end of the season, but that did not bother us, we just hit the bars!!

All in all it was a brilliant holiday, we really enjoyed it, unfortunately the apartments had been sold the week we were there so we can't go back there again.

There are no polite words to express how much I regret going to this accommodation. How they have the cheek to say it's suitable for families is amazing!

The views from the apartments are excellent and the location is perfect.

The rooms are incredibly basic (which you expect for 2 star accommodation!) but they have now been sold so the staff have little or no interest in the cleanliness or co operation of the guests.

Bobby Bamber was entertaining for a week but now his contract has ended he is no more. All the english channels have disappeared one by one and please don't ask the receptionist any difficult questions as she is known to rant, rave and refer to us as english bitches ( I'll not make the mistake of asking for a lead for the kettle then!!)

Some one earlier wrote "avoid this place like the plague". Personally I'd rather contract the plague than visit there again.

I can honestly say that I would not use Sunset ever again as the rep was so stressed with the amount of complaints I think she lost interest. If you are unfortunate enough to be visiting this accomodation you have my sincere condolances. I suggest lots of trips out and just use the place to sleep.

Please do not eat there unless you like food cooked whilst the chef smokes and lets cats behind the counter! Good luck, you will need it!!!

I and my family stayed at this hotel last year.

We found it very difficult to find a sunbed at the pool, so we were forced to the beach thank god since the pool was filthy and you could hardly move in it.

Also the entertainment was a hilarious in the bad way, Bobby Bamber was a nice bloke but not exactly Robbie Williams.

We had no connection to the staff as they didn’t say hello or nothing to us very ignorant.

Great location though.

Don’t try the food by the pool if you have sense.

You never see the owner Mr. Fabuloso! Take my advice don’t go!!!

Hello,

I went to this hotel with my dad, my sister and our 3 mates, at first I thought it would be a holiday where we had to walk around holding daddys hand, but believe me it wasn't!!

Before I went I had a look on the internet at the hotel, it said it was a 2 star and had no pictures...well that suprised me a little bit, not knowing what the hotel looked like.

Anyway, when we arrived at the hotel I was expecting to turn up in a car park with little kids running round with their jelly beans on and their lilos, but the coach parked up at the side curb on the main road....... When we got out and got our suitcases out we had to pull them up a steep hill to a lift that lead to the reception (there again - very suprised!)

When we walked in to the hotel it was normal, marble floors, plants, people playing airhockey etc..... I was dreading going up to the apartment (bearing in mind there were 4 of us in one room) We opened the door and WOW, the appartment was massive the air was cool and the view was fantastic, yet again very suprised!

Anyway, later that night we got changed and headed out for the bars, which again were brilliant, 2 mins walk from the Los Christianos beach. We spent most of our time in the Georges Bar, which was like an English bar, they were very friendly and very funny, especially the Geordie DJ Jamie D - very nice!!!!!

The staff at the hotel were quite polite, I didn't really talk to them at the reception but Wan from the bar was brilliant, he was my dads new best mate!!!

The apartments were so clean to say it was a 2/3 star it was unbelievable!!!

I loved this holiday and I will defo go again. Hopefully we are going November 2004, and defo going Aug 2005, the best holiday I have ever been on.

Regards

Sarah P from Leeds

My boyfriend and I originally chose these apartments because they were the best deal we found on the net. As we hadn't paid much money we didn't expect anything flash.

We were pleasantly surprised on arrival at these apartments. Although you have to get a lift to get up to reception which we found a bit odd, the complex itself was lovely.

Reception was bright and airy and staff were really helpful.

The pool, although not huge was fine for a dip to cool down in the baking Tenerife sun and suited us fine.

Rooms had recently been refurbished and were large and
spacious as opposed to the cramped little studio we were expecting.

We requested a top floor and not only did we get a fantastic view of the beach, we also had a good view of the pool and at night could see all the bars and restaurants down below.

The maids came every other day and left the room spick and span. Although they spoke very little English they were very friendly.

Entertainment wasn't so good. Bobby Bamber was a lovely fella but his entertainments programme left a lot to be desired. Listening to him singing karaoke all night (when he's not blessed with the best voice in the world!!) and paying 5 euro to play bingo to win a box of biscuits wasn't exactly our idea of a wild night out!!

The best part about the Ocean Azahara is its location. It's a 2 minute walk to the beach where you will find all the bars and restaurants which are fantastically priced, some as cheap as 1 euro a pint!! Its ideal for couples and families wanting a relaxing holiday. Its only 10 mins one way to Cristianos for a larger variety of restaurants and 10 mins the other way to Las Americas for a lively night out.

A tip about the waterpark. It's cheaper to get a taxi there and pay on the door than to get the organised bus trip as its only 4 euro in a taxi and it'll cost you about 6 euro each extra for the bus

All in all we had a fantastic holiday and would love to go back next year although we don't know which tour ops doing it next year as its not in next years sunset brochure.

saw this site before we went and thought what had we let oursleves in for .no worries basic studio top floor best veiw we have ever had and we are seasoned travellers to tenerife staying in all standards of hotels/apts . clean and staff polite helpfull talk to them and they will respond, entertainment basic by Bobby Bamber good lad gives it his all, as we are in 40,s and beach lovers we dont stay around the pool and eat out all the time, so cannot comment about pool or any food .We had kettle, toaster, fridge, 2 electric hob,so may be harder for families if you selfcater a bit more. rep sarah always about saw her most days but no cause to use services other than to have a pleasant chat. we would go back to apts again but believe they are up for sale so not in next years brochure as yet . the location is great only a very slight slope to get to entrance then easy going for the legs which is a great bonus when returning after partaking in local beverages , easy to go left to los cristianos or right to las americas.

At short notice our original holiday had to be cancelled due to building work nearby. with no brochures to go by we chose the OceanAzahara Playa in los christianos as we were only offered two choices of hotels to stay in. although apprehensive we chose the above named hotel rather than cancel altogether,as there were only myself and partner we were ready for anything.

at first impression we both thought Oh No the rep escaped rather too quickly for my liking, telling us to report to reception, the lift rattled upwards with the two of us and another couple inside, the look on their faces was a picture.

reception was pleasantly surprising, spacious, cool and yes even friendly, although lacking help with cases,we were told our room, top floor and headed for it.on opening the doorwe found it very spacious exceptionally clean and to top it all had an excellent view.

our two weeks chilling time turned out to be just as we had planned. the entertainment could have been better but bobby did a good job in getting everyone to join in games, and found time to mingle with guests, pull pints and even keep overactive children somewhat in line, without losing control.

the cleaning staff were 100%spot on with their routines and tasks were done four times a week, after two blissful weeks what more could we ask for?.....another two weeks of the same, well done Azahara staff on making our holiday an enjoyable experience.
Regards
Phil and Julie

May 2004 was the third time that we stayed at these apts.

The staff were very friendly and helpful, they were very clean and well maintained.

I had at the time of travel a 7 year old son with behaviour problems and a daughter who was 3 years old. I found that with the reception and entrance being on the first floor, I felt that the children were safe in the grounds of the small complex.

The snack bar served a basic menu all day from 9am to about 7 pm, this included - pizza, burgers, chips, toasties, egg bacon sausage breakfasts, salads and sandwiches etc. The night life was low key but enough for our needs.

Cant wait to go back for a fourth time.

The best description of this place is a 1970's Blackpool guest house. The whole place is run down and shabby.

If you do go, please don't forget to ask for a quiet room that's what we were told we should have done after a sleepless first night next to the main road. €30 lighter we were moved to a lesser grade room only to be woken at 3am by drunks kicking off above us. I ended up having to get the security guard out, no sleep on the second night . When I complained the next morning I was told I was too fussy.

We paid £280 and moved to Cristian Sur apartments (organised by myself) and the rest of the holiday was excellent.

Avoid this hotel like the plague.

Staff are very helpful and speak very good english. Entertainment could be more varied as all he had on offer was del boy and rodney and kareoke which resembled a cat bieng strangled. However Bobby Bamber rates 10/10 for over the top enthusiasm.

We stayed at the azahara in march 2004 for 1 week. I found the rooms to be basic but clean. The bar area and pool were always kept spotless and the beer was always served ice cold. The staff were freindly and helpful and always available 24hrs.
I have rated the entertainment at 4. However the entertainer, while funny, was the musical equivalent of food poisoning. But we watched him almost everynight for a couple of hours and found him really funny, although I dont' think he relised that we were laughing at him and not with him!!
Anyway we opted for a cheap basic holiday and thats what we got. In the daytime the weather is almost always hot, so your not in your room or the hotel until the evenings.
The area of Los Christianos is full of restaurants and bars. We found a really good italian called PICCOLOS, we stayed away from the aberdeen steakhouses!! (and los americos)
Overall the hotel was good, clean and freindly and what more can you ask from a £300 holiday.
ROCK ON BOBBY BAMBER!!!!

Stayed at Azahara Playa apartments in Los Christianos.

Staff were very friendly and helpful. Apartments were situated in excellent location just a stones throw from the beach with every apartment having a clear sea view.
Rooms are basic, cleaning staff came in every second day and surpassed themselves. At time of stay rooms were all being refurbished including ours which only took workmen approx 5 hours to complete, we went to the beach and on return had newly decorated room, new beds, new wardrobes, curtains etc.
There was no entertainment at the complex which was a little dissapointing but there were many other things to do locally. The pool was very clean but absolutely freezing, and watch out for the very steep drop which goes immediately from 3ft to approx 9ft deep.
I would definately recommend these apartments to families, especially as there is a creche below for the locals so it can get rather noisy around 8am. So if you want to take kids back to apartment for a nap, go during siesta as creche is closed then.
Fantastic holiday overall and staff were more helpful than the rep.
Another tip..... ask the receptionists for details of excursions etc as they are cheaper to book through them than through the rep.

We went to the Azahara for the first time in 2002 on allocate on arrival. We enjoyed it so much we booked specifically to go back there last year. Although the apartment was basic, you could not fault the location. Sitting on your balcony - all have sea views - watching the ferries go to La Gomera and back with La Gomera in the distance - night times they are all lit up, having a drink before you go out for a meal. You can enjoy the better part of Playa (at least we think so) as well as Los Christianos - we preferred these parts to the noisy bars and night clubs - those you can keep. There was no entertainment at the Azahara but we did not want it. Ideal place if you want a quieter holiday.
