| said: The kids are 16 and 14 so you could really call us 4 adults but here goes.
Just got back from a week at the Atlantida Apartments our first holiday to the Canaries. To be clear you get what you pay for and the test question must always be would you go back, the answer is yes.
To clear up a few points from other messages. The reception is 24hrs (or was during our stay). There is at least one security guard walking round late evening and night. The rooms (we had 138 + 139) were cleaned and bedding changed daily. I think the rooms would be a bit cosy with 4 adult sized people.
The inside décor was okay but the furniture and patio area would be described as tired with slats missing from the outside louvre doors but I think they are upgrading the rooms as I write. If you intend to cook, there is a gas cooker and fridge but you will need matches and washing up liquid as they are not provided. They do have a TV pay per view with sky sports and BBC etc. at 1 euro per hour. (remember to switch tv off not put on standby to hold credit)
This hotel/apartment complex has loads of short flights of steps and could be an issue for the less able and buggies. It was very clean and tidy with numerous staff working through the day. As a bin got full a cleaner popped up and emptied it.
The entertainment is now run by CAL and his son. As mentioned in previous messages was quite good. There was no kids club when we were there but my kids are to big anyway. If you do have young children Cal & son did a fantastic job entertaining them during the early evening.
When my dears were younger I would have died for a place like this.
Some of the adult evening stuff was a bit cheesy but the acts rotate round the hotels so is similar to other hotels in the area.
Costs in the hotel for beer (euro 2.50), wine litre (euro 7) a lunch time pizza (euro 4) evening buffet which is excellent quality with a variety of meat, pasta, fish dishes (euro 9.60) as good a price quality we found in the area.
I organised 2 outings mount Tiede if you like views great but you do not see a volcano just old volcanic rock. The Jungle Park, a free bus from nearby it has a couple of white lions but the birds of prey display is fantastic (esp. when the tourist are told not to eat during display and chose to ignore the advice. They got a shock!!!!)
Only one time share tried to sell to me.
In all I found the area quite laid back.

| said: The Atlantida was a fantastic Holiday, Absolutely spotless with maids everywhere, Although their english was limited they spoke to the children and were very friendly.
The rooms were well furnished and large although they got warm, you could certainly open windows or hire a fan for E16.50 a deposit of E7.50 NOT E66 as quoted above.
Staff were very friendly, bar and resturant was very well supplied and was always greeted well.
Noted from above some comments we found that if you treated the place with respect you were welcomed with open arms, however most faults could be leveled at the reps (not ours) however if you expect to treat the place like a place you could abuse then perhaps that would explain the attitude they recieved
ALREADY BOOKED AND LOOKING FORWARD TO NEXT YEAR

| said: This has been the worst holiday experience we have had.
After being allocated the wrong complex on arrival, we had to make our own arrangements for transfer to the Atlantida Apartments. After being allocated our apartment we then embarked an expedition which would have been more appropriate as the British Armed Forces training camp for their ascent of Everest. Carting our luggage up a ski slope as the expression, "slippery when wet", no where near describes the tiled pathways of this maze like complex. At the end of our one week experience we knew the place like the back of our hand, but still got lost going to check out.
On entering our apartment and finding only one 20 watt light bulb working, we located the bathroom by using our sense of smell. Dave, being a plumber, described who ever had fitted the toilet must have been the Silicon Kid! As the toilet pan seemed to be secured with nothing more than wishful thinking.
The "Apartment" was Shabby & Dated, Although clean, The patio door was very poorly fitted as were the windows and front door and the lock to the front door was on a "work to rule" basis, unfortunatly, as a rule, it didn't work!
The following morning, we complained to reception, who politely told us, there was nothing they could do, they did however send the "Silicon Kid" to fix the toilet & change 3 lightbulbs, leaving the kitchen still in darkness, which was probably a good thing!. Unfortunatly we can't really comment on the staff, entertainment or food as we decided, from the outset, that our time would be better spent away from this complex.
The "Bath" size pools were totally inappropriate for
the size of the complex and as a suggestion to the complex management, developing "bunk bed" sun loungers would double the number of people from 12 to 24 who could fit around the pools!
The Thompsons representatives, when we managed to track them down, and asked them to re-locate us, firstly said it was impossible, then stated that it would cost us in excess of 600 Euro's to re-locate for one week.
As far as star rating is concerned, 2 Star would be kind.

| said: Cleanliness was spot on, there was an army of cleaners that seemed to work around the clock scrubbing and mopping the place.
Our apartment was not in a good location though ( 142) and the terrace was small but the view of the building site was quite good! The rooms were clean. There was enough space for the 3 of us as our eldest had stayed at home but if there had been 4 of us, it would have been very cramped.
Far too big and sprawled out complex, such a walk to get to any of the facilities and far too many sets of stairs so its no good if you have difficulty walking. The Cave bar and the Lost Temple restaurant are good and the quality of food is good, but if its not your cup of tea there are plenty of other eating houses nearby.
Hotel staff were excellent, hard working and enthusiastic, in particular Jane and Rosie..would recommend the hotel steps up its security after an unfortunate soul caught a burglar red handed in her room at 6am. she chased him, he jumped over the balcony and got away with everything except their passports.
Hotel did react to this well and stepped up security, but this was a brazen local burglar who had climbed up the balcony and got in through the patio. Would definitely go back to Atlantida though.

| said: What a great set of apartments/Bungalows. We stayed in No.83, this was a 2 bedroomed Bungalow, with a great View & a super Balcony, Via 2 wooden French Doors. The Balcony is very spacious with a set of 4 garden chairs & a table & still plenty of room to walk around, & a wasing horse to hang clothes or wet towels on to dry.
The bedrooms were a decent size, One had a double bed in & the other had 2 singles, both had solid Pine fitted wardrobes in & Bedside cabinets with about 3 foot or more around the bed, So they are quite roomy. Also a Cot area in the second bedroom that we used to put our cases in.
The extra bed is in the Lounge area of the Bungalow. Its a sofa bed that pulls out from underneath the main Sofa. There was a pine dining table & 4 Chairs in the Lounge area with a breakfast bar to the Kitchen area. The Kitchen had a Sink, a 2 ring electric Hob & a Microwave. Plenty of Cups & Saucers, Cutlery & Plates are provided, also a couple of Saucepans. (Bring a decent Tin Opener)
The Bathroom had a Bath & separate Shower, A Bidet to clean your Bum & a Toilet to Dirty it (lol)
Also in the bathroom were 2 sinks set in a solid marble top & a washing machine.
The Bungalow was floor tiled throughout & in the bathroom on the walls as well.
The Cleaners come every 2 days to empty bins & every 3 days to change sheets & Towels.
We found the complex quiet for this time of year & we had no problem at all getting Sunbeds around Either the Larger or Smaller Pools.
The Food is fine, there is a Buffet breakfast that our kids took advantage of, with a typical fry up that you can help yourself to as well as Cereals, Toast, fruit, Tea, Coffee & some Fruit juice (not great). We only ever paid about 20 Euros for all 5 of us for breakfast & that would last our kids through till about 3pm, as they often filled themselves to the brim. (lol)
There is a snack bar that is open for most of the day to cater for those lunchtime cold or hot snacks, as well as cold drinks, Beers & Slush puppies.
In the Evening, there is a 3 course meal with a kids menu available, Chicken Nuggets, Chips Sausages etc. The Desert is Buffet style again So the kids ate well.
All the Staff were friendly & Helpful, & spoke very good english.
The entetainment is fine for families. Caroline comes around about 10.30 to get all the kids & adults up for a game of Water Volleyball in the larger pool, after which there is sometimes a hoopla game or Beanbag Bowls, Pool or darts Competition. then an around the Pool Quiz. This keeps adults & kids alike occupied for a few hours, after which, my lot were off with there new mates playing in the pool or play areas.
In the evening caroline is back to get the party started with all the winners of the earlier competitions coming on stage to collect their free drink or Beach Towel. Then its Quiz time again, Some games for the kids & then Bingo, after which is either Karaoke or Disco. Caroline does a great job & always keeps us all smiling. At the weekends Dave takes over, usually on Friday & Saturday, another great guy who keeps us laughing & the kids happy.
I found the location of the hotel fine, your immediate beach front ( about 500 yards away, out of the Atlantida & turn right)is rocky, but the nice beaches are only a 5 minute walk down the along the front.
I could go on forever, but this post would never end.
Yes i would go back to the Atlantida again & hope to next year.
There was a burglary in one of the Bungalows whilst we were there & the poeple did have there passports stolen. So use the wall safes in reception. & any camera's & stuff like that that you leave in your bungalow, try to find a suitable hiding place. I Did ;-))
This happens everywhere, we had no problems at all, as you can use common sense. When you go out, lock the French doors & take the key out of the lock & hide it till you return, & don't leave valuables on show for all to see.

| said: This was my 5th time at the atlantida! I started going when i was 11 and have really enjoyed it everytime because there is so much too do!
I have been 3 times in February and because the wheather wasn't boiling all day me, my brother and friends played football, basket ball tennis (and more all day).
The last 2 times I've been were in April so its been very warm. This meant we couldn't possibly play footbal all day because our feet burnt on the sand. We still played football but only at the end of the day when it was a little cooler but we still jumped into the nice rerfreshing pool afterwards.
In the complex there is also lots of less energenic activities like golf, table tennis, air hockey and pool, which is great is its to warm. The reps also organize activities that everyone can join in from Football matches to quizes around the pool.
The rooms are always kept clean and tidy and well equiped. The maids are always working very hard to keep the place spotless. The hotel food is great and not expensive me and my brother especially enjoy the all you can eat barbaque which only costs 9E for adults and 4 50E for children.
There is always lots of food to choose from at very low prices. The prices of drinks are also at reasonable prices. The staff are all friendly (always saying Olah) and smiling!
The staff also speak very good English and so booking in is quick and easy! The location is great, the supermarket is about 5metres away from reception and has everything you need! There is plenty of bars and restaurants just 400yrds away from from the complex and for the better beach its only a 10 minute walk.
The entertainment is good and different every night, although we only went to the later entertainment. I would definately go again for my 6th time and would recommend it to any family.
However if you don't like having fun and don't like watching kids having fun don't bother going.

| said: We stayed at this hotel in November 2004, and I have to say we wouldn't rush back.
My husband had been to Tenerife years back and enjoyed it, and told me great stories of it, but we were very disappointed with our holiday.
We were sold the holiday as a superfamily holiday and when we got there were told that in fact they had changed it so that it was only superfamily in the summer season. Which finished two days before we arrived. Great! There was hardly anything for the kids to do except kids club.
We always go for somewhere that keeps the kids amused all day and this holiday was nothing like we anticipated and were led to believe. There was a football pitch that had a high fence round it that was kept locked the whole time. Some one had made a hole in the fence and the boys used to go and play there anyway. That was it.
Evening entertainment was very poor too. Virtually non-existant. Mostly just a guy playing disco music. To top it all we had two weeks of cloud. Admitedly no rain as such, but we went home after 2 weeks with no tan at all! The sun came out in the morning, but by 12 the sky was completely overcast.
To sum up, we may try Tenerife again one day, but not in November, and definitely not this hotel!

| said: We stayed at the Atlantida for the first time this November. Travelling with a four year old we were a little worried about the facilities for kids but were not disappointed!
The kids club (tots in this case) was a blessing as it gave us at least two hours a day to ourselves although twice during the week the club was on two times a day (hurrah!!) The staff at kids club were excellent and I had no worries at all leaving our little monster there.
The rooms themselves were very basic; remember to take your own tea towels, washing up liquid etc as there is nothing like that provided. The local supermarket (black hole) was fairly well stocked with booze etc but lacking a little in the basics like a decent loaf of bread.
However we didn’t find that a problem as the cave bar/restaurant's food was excellent and a real bargain at only 9 euros for dinner ( all you can eat!) and 7 for brekkie( same again all you can eat) Under 6's ate for free as long as they were accompanied by adults.
During the day the snack bar provided cheap meals especially for the kids, chicken nuggets and chips 2.50 euros. We were pleasantly surprised by the high standard of food and choice in this restaurant, with there being something for everyone, and menus changed daily.
Our room was about 20 metres from the Cave bar which meant that it got a little noisy at night on occasion but mostly from the Brits wandering back to their rooms after midnight!
The entertainment was great for the kids with a kid’s disco every night at 8.30 which tired them out just nicely in time for bed. The "professional" entertainment was a bit hit and miss though, which left us feeling a bit like campers at hi de hi sometimes, but mostly it was a pleasant way to spend the evening.
Excursions. Medieval night is a must!!!! What a FANTASTIC night we had there or should I say Knight we had there!! Jousting and battles all whilst you chug down your endless supply of wine (juice for the kids)and teqar into your whole chicken, be warned though in days of old they didn’t have cutlery and neither did we at the castle but a heck of a good night was had.
After the jousting/battles we were lead into the other half of the castle for a sing along with four of the drifters and this was great too.
The only trip we took that we really didn’t enjoy was the "legends of Broadway" show. The food was awful, bland and not nearly enough of it, the acts were pretty poor (except Sebastian one of the drifters we had seen the night before) and when it came to the reps half of the show we were left feeling very disappointed. It was hyped as the best show in Tenerife, and at 50 euros per head we expected a LOT more than we got. Granted the reps put in a lot of effort but with all that talent on one stage surely at least one of them could sing rather than just mime to the soundtracks from Broadway shows???
Other than that though we had a wonderful holiday, hotel staff were always very friendly as were the reps (boy do they put up with a lot from the holidaymakers!!)
We are already planning our next trip back to the Atlantida bungalows.

| said: With only a 20 minute drive from the airport, this made The Atlantida Apartments an excellent choice for a family with young children.
We arrived and were directed to our room with map in hand, by a very friendly, English speaking, receptionist. As we were at the far end of the complex (which has a number of steps in places)carrying our luggage was hard work.
Our apartment overlooked the pool near the Cave Bar, but the noise never bothered us. We opted for a one bed apartment with a pull out sofa bed in the lounge for the children. The apartment was a little "frayed around the edges" but was clean and had the wonderful bonus of a washing machine.(We came home with virtually all clean washing!) But we were paying 3 star prices and I think we received value for money.
We never ate in apart from the odd breakfast, but opted to use the restaurant instead. Breakfast was 7 euros for adults and children under six ate free. Dinner was 9 euros and again, children under six ate free. The cave bar was also excellent value for money at lunchtime with a takeaway service serving all the obvious pizzas, burgers, salads etc Childrens meals were 2.80 euros.
The nightly entertainment was very good including tribute bands, comediens, magicians, bingo and karaoke. Three nights a week there was a childrens club for two hours which both our children loved. (and so did we....peace and quiet!) The daytime children's club was divided into tots (3-5)team (6-9) and tribe (10 up.) As our children were aged 4 and 8 they were in different groups which meant that we couldn't parcel them off together. However, leaving a mobile number meant we weren't tied to the complex and we frequently walked into Los Cristianos.
The nearest supermarket was just outside reception, the nearest cash point was only 300 yards away and so was the local taxi rank. Los Cristianos Sunday market was only 300yards away too which the kids loved.
The nearest beach (if you can call it that!) was only a five minute walk but as it looked more like a rocky building site, wasn't really suitable for children. The better beach in the town was very clean, although the sea was incredibly salty.Because of this we spent most of our time around the pool.
Los Cristianos must have a high British tourist population but from what I could see they seemed to cater only for this, Traditional fish and chips, pizza, burgers etc. I'd liked to have seen something more traditional on offer. Maybe I didn't look far enough? Apart from the scratch card touts (timeshare tours a guaranteed prize!) we found everyone to be really friendly and although we couldn't speak a word of Spanish we never had a problem.
The staff in the hotel were very friendly, as were the reps ( but they should tone down the entusiasm in the welcome meeting a little as it was a bit over the top!
Make sure you pack your earplugs for this as well as the bin men who have to collect the rubbish at 3am. WHY?) To sum up, we got value for money and the only home comforts I really missed was decent bread and fluffy pillows. We'd definitely go back there again.

| said: We thoroughly enjoyed our recent stay at the Atlantida apartments. Had read a few mixed reports prior to our holiday but arrived there with an open mind and we were not disappointed.
It was our first time abroad since the arrival of our 11 month old daughter and we were not really sure what to expect in comparison to our many previous holidays abroad. We felt the apartments really suited our needs with the baby and the high chair, cot and washing machine in the apartments were all godsends. We requested an apartment on a low floor and had one fairly near to reception, pool etc. Rooms were basic (no air-conditioning which was really needed!) but they were spacious. I would say their condition is what you would expect from a 3 star acccommodation - basic but fine.
We took the half board option and found the food to be very good with plenty of variety. The restaurant was nice and staff pleasant and very helpful.
Entertainment at night was fairly good too although we didn't stay every night to watch it. Soft play area and toys were excellent although at night it was over run with bigger kids wrecking the joint which was a big concern to us. It is supposed to be for 3 years old and under (with parental supervision) but frequently found big kids fighting in it, throwing toys about etc with none of their parents in sight!!! Not fair or safe for our baby to crawl around in with all that going on. Mind you don't think there was very much reps could do as responsiblity really lies with the parents on this one.
On the whole we had a good hol at Atlantida and would go back again.

We arrived at about 2:30am and checked in very quickly. The apartment was easy to find but the place was like a warren and could be very difficult to find things.
The apartment was 2 bed and quite large but basic. It was clean and tidy and we had a massive balcony overlooking the sunken pool.
The pool was so small that I felt claustrophobic and only sat by it once. The other pool was more open but looked even more grotty. While we were there the pool area was painted - painted over all the dirt and grime - and was out of use for a whole day.
The reps and staff were always friendly. There was a LOT of kids but it was half term. The kids clubs were good but they lacked imagination and facilities - no longer an issue as no longer Super Family.
The place is definitley 3 star or less and probably should be knocked down as it is too tired.
The entertainment was entertaining! We only saw the 10:00 show each night but we all enjoyed it and joined in. The kids enjoyed the whole holiday and would have stayed in the complex the whole time if allowed.
Only saw 2 cockroaches.
Maids were very good - cleaning for an hour one day.
No idea about food as we never ate in.
Overall we probably got what we payed for but would not go back to Atlantida.

The next morning the reception were really helpful and we moved to the rear of the complex and on the first floor the following day.
Both the pools we small and activities were 3 - 4 a day killer darts, boule, bean bags then one in the pool either rugby, basket ball or water polo.
Kids club was good for the under 13's.
The pools would have been better if they were a little bigger.
Football pitch, tennis courts and a gym.
Evening entertainment was hit and miss but the Cave bar was somewhere to visit.
Our second room was far enough away that we couldn't hear the music and being high up people didn't walk past to get back to their appartments.
Had visits from the cockroaches most evening until we remebered to close the bathroom window and spray (found under the sink) Washing machine in the bathroom was brilliant.
Finished being a superfamily hotel on the day we left.
Didn't eat in the restaurant but had the bbq the first week. But not the second !! All you could eat but get there early if you really want to have it. Was not impressed.
Glad we had the holiday but over all would not go back to the Atlantida again.

| said: Whilst staying here for 2 weeks with my partner I found the Thomson’s staff very rude, they were too busy gossiping to each other to help anyone and when you asked them a question it seemed like a chore to answer it. Also they were never at the rep desk at the specified times.
Unfortunately while we were there £20 sterling, a bottle of perfume and some make up was stolen from our room. 3 or 4 other guests were also burgled although we had not been broken into. All windows and doors were always locked. When this was reported to hotel staff and Thomson’s reps they couldn’t care less.
The reception staff were consistently rude, one or two of the bar staff were very friendly but the rest of them looked like they hated working there and rarely would you see them smile.
On leaving we were getting picked up from the hotel at 6pm. We needed a room extension and were told 3 times this would not be possible by reception staff as its "too much work for the maids". We tried to find Thomson’s staff but they are apparently usually sunbathing at adjacent apartments. So finally we obtain a room extension, at the cost of 31 euros while the people in the room next too us only paid 20 for the same amount of time!!
I would never visit these apartments ever again. Nor recommend them.

| said: What a great place!! Apartments were lovely, even the ones with darker ceilings, well furnished, very clean, and ours had a massive balcony.
We were in 121, overlooking the rear pool and Cave Bar, and it was a great location. Yes, noisy until midnight, but our kids still slept through it fine, and it was nice to be so near everything.
The complex is undergoing renovation, but this work is being done quietly so you are not disturbed at all. Most seems to be done now, with the back end of the complex still recieving the most attenetion, but it really is non-invasive work.
Pools, small but good. In high season, probably a bit more packed, but we had no trouble getting a sunbed at any time of day, and the inflatable problem never arose as most acted sensibly and took them out at busier times.
Food was lovely. We were self-catering, but never cooked much more than bacon!! Breakfast buffet was great, as was evening one, and kids under 6 eat free. BBQ was nice, no entertainment, but food was plentiful and tasty. Snack menu was fine, cheap and cheerful Brit food, so suited the kids!!
Entertainmant was usual SuperFamily stuff. Think Butlins and you will not be far wrong!! Kids disco every night, so they were happy. Soft play room open quite late so it was good as kiddies played whilst we could sit in peace. Cave Bar is nicely designed, and we spent a lot of time in it, due to the soft play and playground being located right by it.
All in all exactly what I expected for 3* accomodation. Basic but clean. Same for the complex. Cleaners around all times of day and night.
If you want plush surroundings and 5* luxury, this is not for you, but as a good base for a basic family holiday, I feel the Atlantida fits the bill completely.
One downside was the rooms got hot, but that is not unique to this complex. We solved this by buying fans from departing guests, as it was cheaper than hiring them. Keep an eye out as there are always people selling them on cheaply as they leave.

| said: Do not stay in this hotel unless you are a lager swilling, football shirted yob who thinks the hotel should look after their kids while they go off for the evenings.
We had a terrible time with teenage noise throughout our two week stay because our apartments where located adjacent to the pool table areas where the offspring of these parents gathered to reek havock well into the early hours. They behaved like they do when they are on the street corners back home, the only difference is that nobody here tries anything to stop them. Many requests were made to both the hotel staff and the Thompsons reps but to no evail.
This hotel is completely over-rated in the brochure and should be down-graded to 2 star.
Don't bother complaining to Thompsons, they are not interested and don't have a compensation policy unless you want to go on another Thompson holiday! No thanks.

| said: This was the first Super family holiday we have been on and it was great for the kids. The kids did not want to join in with the kids clubs too much, however on the occasions that they did they seemed to have a good time. The only downside to the club was that the kids had to be booked into the evening club which was a bit of a pain as you had to be there two hours before to do this, so if you were out of the hotel for the day you had to rush back to book them in.
We stayed in room 141. I think most rooms were much of a muchness. Dark, but clean and as spacious as most holiday apartments. Only saw one cockroach. The room was very, very hot, the noise from the Cave bar was nothing to the noise from the normally quiet daytime road outside. During the course of the night the bins which were located just outside were emptied, followed by an hour later the cleaning of the bins, which just then seemed to lead on to the stocking up of the bar from the lorries. Give me the disco noise in the Cave bar any day!!!!
We are given to understand that this is the last year that this apartment complex is going to be a Super family one. This was backed up with the fact that most of the staff were mostly Spanish German!!!!
I suppose I must be painting the complex black, but overall it was ok. The complex is very safe. The pools were both of the small side bearing in mind the size of the place, they were warm though and ample enough for us. The time we were there it was not too crowded and you could always get a sunbed as these were locked up until 9am every morning which was more than fair. (No early morning rise's for a sunbed rush).
The reps were more than friendly and helpful. Husband had a little bit of a misfortune and dislocated his finger during a game of what should of been five a side football, but was in fact more like 20 a side. This resulted in a hospital visit. The reps all made an effort to contact us to enquire how he was and showed much concern.
The play area located at the side of the Cave Bar in my opinion was very dangerous and in need of a complete face lift. At least three accidents occurred here, one of which my son was involved in, luckily he was not injured which is more than could be said for his friend. A piece of the play equipment which was situated up a pole sheared off its bolts and collapsed trapping his leg. However, again, the staff were very good, an ambulance was called and arrived quicker than it would in the UK. Only down side was that the crew did not really speak English, however, they got by and he was taken to hospital. This could have been a lot nastier than it was. This was just one of a few like I say.

Wish the rooms were airconditioned however you pays your money and you gets your goods.
One big plus was a washing machine in room great for washing out cossies at end of the day!.
Would go back without a doubt.
They built up the weekly barbeque to be somthing excellent but I was a tad disappointed with it!

| said: We have just arrived home from 1 weeks stay at the Atlantida apartments in Los Cristianos all I can say is I wish we had booked for 2 weeks!
The whole holiday was wonderful the apartments were clean and the best equipped we have ever known, the staff were helpful and spoke very good English and the reps were always where they should be which again was a first for us.
The golden sandy beach was immaculate and kept clean on an hourly basis by the people who hired out the sunbeds the sea was clear and beautifully warm and yes maybe a little further from the apartments than some people liked but we found it relaxing to stroll there and back stopping for a cold drink or something to eat.
The apartment entertainment programme was of a high standard and the reps especially showed commitment and enthusiasm.
Brilliant !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

| said: This holiday was a last minute change due to unforseen circumstances earlier in the month and we HAD to keep the same flight so was forced to change from the 4* Villa Mandi to this 3* pit (oh and another 350 quid).
We arrived on a non-Gatwick Brittania flight (2am) and after climbing what seemed 100's of feet we got to room 138. The welcome party scuttled up the wall on arrival (cocky) and at first we thought the heating was on full - the room was styfling - no aircon, how we missed this one amazed me.
The bathroom has no windows and one sad light, a pathetic expelair fan that doesn't work and STUNK, all that was needed was a touch of blue-loo to freshen the room up.
The following morning you have to play a game - follow the hoseman, he hoses the pool terrace and then unchains all the sunbeds at whim, then the race starts to get the best spot - the pool is 50/50 shaded till 3pm, the pool by the way is VERY small, about 25 is enough and isn't a problem until the terrace is full then over 50 attempt to get in (complete with oversized inflatables). If you can put up with the screaming it's ok - we can't. The problem we and others noticed most was the camp attracted yob-like families who didn't want to holiday, just smash footballs around a very crowded terrace - you take so much and then leave - most do.
The food in the cave bar is quite good and to be fair the drinks are very reasonable too. What is not fair is the cost of fans etc - we hired two at a cost of 66 euros. Added to the safe at 33 euros and the shower room key at 8 euros going ANYWHERE near reception costs.
The entertainment was OK, but again only if you could handle the yobs playing above your head and the constant screaming from kids on a nearby air hockey machine, also we had some pratt who persistantly flashed lasers in peoples faces - where are these kids parents?
The resrt is OK, nothing different than Alcudia; Magalluf; Benidorm etc just dearer for some reason. It may be worth learning Senagalise for "no I don't want my hair braiding and no I don't want a crap watch or chain from you and dont ask again thank you" - you will get pestered every 20 feet by the lucky lucky people - say "hello" to the women making quick eye contact and carry on walking, they hate that and "sunglasses? it's dark!" to the men - end of.
Bars worth visiting are the Blubell bar, Dreamers, harbour lights and the lazy fox - somewhere NOT to go is O'Flahertys - 2 of us got the 2 bob bits after a 'roast' (microwaved) dinner - urrgh.
Visit Mt Tiede it's simply stunning landsacpe if thats your thing, you need more than FOUR HOURS to get around Loro Parque - DO NOT let a tour rep tell you any different - also the Thomson reps charges are around 40% dearer than the tour people on the front - and they ARE reliable dont worry.
Please if you DO like a good roast dinner visit the 'Roast House' this place charged 10.95 but you simply dont need any more and the food is 5* - can't think of anymore apart from I will not be visiting the Atlantida.

| said: We have just returned from the Atlantida and I have to say I was very impressed, I checked out the reviews before we left and I was a bit concerned by some of them. I needn't have worried, the whole complex was very clean, with all areas being cleaned every day, in fact there seemed to be an army of cleaners working all day. Our room was cleaned every day if you wished, the towels were changed every day which was needed with five of us having about 3 baths/showers a day. We only saw 3 cockroaches the whole time we were there and only one of them was in the complex. There were two pools which did get busy but there was still room for us, I have a 15 month old baby and he loved the pool and the soft play area which had loads of stuff for him to play with and was air-conditioned, (unlike the rooms) The food in the bar and the restaurant was very good, the restaurant had an all you can eat buffet which was 9 euros for adults and I think 4 for children, it was different every day and we ate there a couple of times.
All the staff spoke very good English and were very helpful.
The only real problems were that the toilet smelt a bit but we just bought toilet duck and the fans were not really adequate as it was so hot. We had a great holiday.

Pool area was fine although the pool was a little small.

The apartment was clean every day and the standar was very good. I have score 3 for the food only because we didn't eat in there so I couldn't comment but quite a few people we spoke recommended it. Location for us was perfect not to far was bars but far away for a nice peaceful holiday
We have only just arrived back and I am in the process of booking for next year. My daughter who is 15yrs loved it and can't wait to go back next year. She didn't want to come away and made lots of new freinds. Brilliant holiday sorry it had to end.

| said: Checked in very easily (all reception staff speak good English), and given map of apartments highlighting quickest route to ours. Apartments (we had 2) were clean if not very bright, and minor issues we had with them dealt with efficiently. Despite only supposedly being a British Thomson apartment it seemed the Germans were out early every morning putting the towels on the sunloungers, which then tended to stay unoccupied most of the day, very selfish. The 2 younger kids went to the Team and Tribe clubs a couple of times but said they were boring, but I think if the weather had not been so good they would have been glad of something to do. Daytime snacks available at the cave bar were adequate, but not very much variety, however as nothing much else available on the doorstep it was conveinient. Evening entertainment not too bad,(but very hot and stuffy in Cave Bar) and what the Reps show lacked in talent it make up for with enthusiasm. Main downside of apartments is location, there is not much happening in the immediate area and the beaches were not exactly on the doorstep.

We had a great time

| said: We have just returned from a very enjoyable stay at the Atlantida Apartments.
First impressions were good and we arrived at 9pm. The reception staff welcomed us and said only one person in the party needed to check in the rest make there way to the bar!
Check in was easy and needed 5 euro deposit for a room key, returned at the end of your stay.
Fans could also be hired for 2 euro per day, very handy.
Our room number was 116 and couldnt be any nearer the cave bar. The noise of the various entertainments was very loud but stopped immeditely at midnight.
However, the noise of fellow guests leaving the cave bar went on until around 2am and after 2 days of very little sleep we asked if we could move. This was done with a smile and little fuss, we were given room key number 2. This room was slightly larger than the first and a bungalow so no noise from above. It was immaculately clean (as was the first) with a double sink and bidet in the bathroom, seperate shower and bath.
Kitchen was well supplied with cooker, (never used!) kettle, toaster and even one or two English adapter plugs were around the apartment.
Pull out Sofa bed in living area was large and ready made with clean sheets and our 12 year old had no problems getting comfy.
The location of the Apartments was fantastic, literally out of the Apartments turn left, cross road and there is the beach.
Amazing restaurants very near by, Olive Garden being our favourite! The hotel staff were very polite, always greeted you with Hola.
Entertainment was excellent, everything for families right from magicians, singers and comedians, just about everything.
Security guards patrol the apartments night and day making the whole place very safe for children and families. The two pools are lovely, very warm and clean and many a good hour was spent around the pool using the free sunbeds and parasols.
We would indeed return to Atlantida as the Apartments are extremely clean and in a fab location, if you have children do not hesitate they will love you for it!

| said: We arrived at half 2 in the morning to these apartments, after having a fast check in with reception and handing over our 10 euro deposit (5 euro per room which you get back when you hand the keys in on last day) we were given a map and a short description of which direction to go.
The thing is with these apartments are that there are paths that go around and it may look like you are going the wrong direction but your not, all the paths go somewhere, they are not dead ends.
Then sayin this when it's dark and you have dimly lit paths and not sure where you are going it is very easy to get lost.
The security guard found us wandering asked us our room number and took us to the set of stairs which led up to our rooms. Room 140 and 141.
The rooms on first impressions looked dimly lit but nicely laid out, one of my friends found out that the bathroom lock was a bit iffy, for when he locked it he couldnt get it back undone, and when your claustrophobic this doesn't help, but after some calming words he finally managed to undo it and we all said we would not lock the bathroom door again.
Also that night we was sitting on the balcony having a drink, and our lights just went out, after ringing reception (9 on the phones) within 10 minutes the security guard/maintanence man came up, and fixed this problem. The next day we woke up and decided to explore first thing was to find a supermarket after asking at reception they told us the Trebol supermarket was the cheapest and biggest around, which was around a 15-20 min walk from the apartments when leisurly strolling, the taxi ride back cost 3 euro, inc service charge, the only annoying thing was the walk with the many shopping bags up to our rooms, this was only made possible with 3 of us, each carrying 4 bags, having to stop at specified places on the way to the rooms. Then we decided to find the beach, we was pleasantly suprised to find, that it was around a 5-10 minute walk and you would be immediately on the sand.
The snacks in the hotel was nice, and food was very reasonable a breakfast from the cave bar snack bar (not the restaurant, not sure how this was as we didnt visit it) that included 2 rashers of bacon, 2 sausages, a fried egg, plus chips, was 2.80 euro, a large coke (50cl) about half a litre i think was 2.10 euro and a pint of local beer was 2.45 euro.
The pools were nice and not cold, we tended to stay around the one near our apartment but did go in the bigger one once or twice. One night the small pool near the cave bar someone had an accident (of the brown kind) in the pool, and within 5 minutes of reception being told the pool was taped off and noone was allowed to use it, whilst maintenance cleaned it.
Maintenance in particular was very good one day we realised our fridge wasn't keeping the food clean, after we had turned it up it didnt make a difference even though the freezer was working perfectly, so we rung reception and within 15 minutes the maintanance man was at our room and he checked the fridge then said "i come back" and we went down to the cave bar for lunch and noticed 10 minutes after that the man was rolling our fridge away from our apartment and when we went back up, we had a new fridge and all our food put back neatly and tidily in it.
Cleaners came every day to change sheets, sweep and mop floors on balconies and in rooms.
Rooms were actually very comfortable although with the pull out bed I would think with 4 adults they would be a bit of a squeeze, as we had 3 and sometimes with my friends suitcase on the floor it felt cramped. Cooker, fridge, work surface, cutlery all good, you get a tea towel and a sharp knife, but take a dish cloth with you, washing machine n room very useful! Apartments are a bit dim in the day because of the dark decor but we found if you have the front door and balcony door open a nice breeze comes through and it really lights up the room aswell.
Entertainment staff was very good with different activites going on, water polo, skittles, badminton, pool, and our favourite the quiz! Prize bingo most nights at 9:15, highest prize we saw was 240 euro, and we won it one night with 165 euro, so it varies.
Even though we were a group of 5 youngsters aged 17-22 and it was a family hotel we never felt out of place, we came in a few nights at half 3, the reception staff always said hola, and so did the security guard.
Reception staff and most bar staff talk very good english, and will tell you what you need to know. One day I had really sharp pains in my head and felt faint, we asked at recpetion where the doctors surgery was and they said "no no don't be silly" and called me a doctor. Within half an hour the doctor was in my room examining me, and it turned out I had, bronchitus, tonsilitus and problems with my sinuses! It was a sunday and cost 80 euros for me to see the doctor, but as long as you do have medical insurance you are covered. I then asked at recpetion where I could get the prescription from because it was a sunday and most would be shut, and they told me where I could get my tablets, gave me a map and also called me a taxi.
Luggage lockers for the last day are reasonable, 8 euros, per locker, 5 of that you get back when you hand the key in. And for showers you just have to book at recpetion a time slot, you would like and it is free.
Activities are available at the hotel, crazy golf, jacuzzi, gym, squash, tennis, table tennis, all for a 10 euro deposit to get the equipment which you get back when you hand the equipment back so it's all free to use.
Over all, because as you will agree I have gone on a lot, I will conclude, I enjoyed my holiday, and didn't want to come home, and everyone at the Atlantida was great, all 5 of us enjoyed ourselves.
So, If you want, a reasonably priced, fun holiday, with lots of laughs to be had book at the Atlantida.

Night time entertainment was a bit like Butlins but thats expected. As for cockroaches we didn't see any but you are abroad it is the norm and repellent is provided under the sink - spray your doorway & patio on a night and leave a light on. Bad points were that the patio doors were a bad fit and didn't secure very well though not bad enough to complain. Lots of litter was left round the pool every night (English tourists)but was all tidied away by pool staff pool was scrubbed down every morning and water samples taken.Glass was smashed around the pool (English people again)but again any fragments would be cleared by morning. Pool edge was a bit slippy when wet but all pools are - even public swimming pools in England - you just have to tell your kids not to run!. Bar prices and take-away prices not too bad, restaurant ok but better and cheaper could be found in the town.

| said: Although this hotel was a superfamily it was really disappointing. The complex was run down in certain places and the entertainment was very poor. The Thomson reps appeared to be more interested in talking to each other than any of the guests. Every activity seemed like a task to them that they couldn't wait to get over. The childrens clubs were much the same and the creche I thought was extortionate at 15 euros for 2 hours. The pools were both small and the pool areas never looked clean, one child cut his foot on a piece of glass. The apartments were basic but what put the cap on it for me was the 5 cockroaches we found walking about the apartment. The courtesy room and showers were a joke, they were situated right at the other end of the complex from reception so you had to trapse your cases from one end of the complex only to have to bring them all the way back to go home and the showers absolutely stunk. I have been to many places before but I would definently not reccomend this one.

Atlantida was clean room was cleaned daily never had food on site as was quite expensive! location was good not too far from beach (about 5 minute walk). Staff always friendly, had no problem with security but had hired a safety deposit box. Room was in quiet location (no 49).
Wouldn't visit again as we don't do same place twice, and like to go somewhere different. Entertainment was good for kids who like kids clubs but mine weren't interested!!!!

If i was young again i would have loved to visit here as there was so much for the kids to do with the entertainers. Only thing was that it was up quite a big hill and it was sometimes far to hot to walk this. I am returning to Tenerife this year with my fiance and we would have went there if it wasn't fully booked so we chose the hotel right behind it and i will pay the Atlantida a visit especially the people who work there because they were very friendly.

| said: This was one of my best holidays, just because the entertainment was brilliant. The reps where great it was a real good laugh. We did not want to leave the hotel because we did not want to miss the activities.
Would go back tomorrow, but tenerife itself on the other hand was a bit of a dump. Nevertheless, had a great time. The beach in Playa de Las Americas was lovely about a 20 min walk, and the weather was perfect.

| said: We stayed at the atlantida last year and we loved it so much that we are going again this year (tomorrow infact). We arrived at 8pm and we were greated by friendly staff who checked us in and had us in our room in no time. The apartment was clean, big and perfect we had all the facilities we needed including a washing machine. We were in room 154 it was close to the cave bar and was noisy but the staff were more then happy to move us to another room (70) which was perfect looking over the pool. The location was excellant just a 5 min stroll to the main front and beach. The entertainment was also excellant there was always something going on if you wanted it. We liked it here so much we booked to come this year the week after we got back.
