| said: There was maids who came in everyday to clean your room, even if it was a tip (as me and my brothers often made them) and were friendly and polite. They where spanish, but they always tried to understand and allways made conversation.
The food could have been better, but 9 out of 10 of it was not up to standards that i would expect of a 4*, but we didnt get this often in our 2 weeks of staying there.
The scenary was stunning. Not much to say really, other than, its a volcano, and in the morning, it is amazing to look at.
The staff where all polite, friendly, and always made us smile. The receptionists would welcome you with a genuin smile, and were constantly making us laugh. The barmen/women would make you feel welcome, and could make any drink that you wanted.
In a few years, i am going to make plans to come again.
I think it should be at least 4 and half stars!!!

| said: Where to start !! This place was absolutley amazing and i will be re-visiting.
Food - the food was beautiful, always varied, plenty for the children, fresh meat and fish griddled at the front of the resturant, i have heard that the food was cold however,i always had hot decent food.
Cleanliness - cleaners cam daily, they provided really good service, they provided clean bedding also, they were very friendly and they could compromise on the timing.
Location - i agree that it was a bit hilly but that is tenerife for you, very close proximity to the shops and beach within 8- 10 mins walking distance. Beautiful scenery how ever there was a motorway.
Staff - most of the staff wern't fluent english altough they were very polite and friendly, they were very co-operative and helpful.
Entertainment - the entertainment was a typical holiday entertainment but still amusing, even though we didn't watch it that much as we went to playa de las americas and los cristianos but of what we saw of it it looked ok.
Hotel - the hotel was comfotable and clean,it accomadated for our needs it had a small food fridge and cooker even though we were fully inclusive which was helpful to store essentials in.we had a large terrace and the rooms are fairly good size.downstairs in reception there were accessable computers for a small charge, there was an info board about days out i.e loro park, jungle park etc.
I would definatley go to this hotel again and i hope the bbad reports dont put you off :)

| said: I have recently returned back from holidaying at villa Tagora with a family group.on the positive side, I found the apartments clean and spacious, the hotel staff were friendly and happy to help. food was quite varied and meat and fish was cooked fresh on griddle.
location was a leisurely 10 minute stroll to shops and beach, etc. on the downside the uphill was trickier but if your fit and able there shouldn't be any problems.
only a few negatives, nothing major really. snacks inbetween meals were boring and could have been fresher, we also didn't realise with all inclusive that the bar closed at 11pm so you had to purchase tickets from reception if you wanted any other drinks. entertainment was ok. enthusiastic team who was always on the go! i would visit again.

| said: After reading other reviews about this hotel we were a little worried..........we shouldn't have been.
The aparthotel is situated around a lovely swimmimng pool and sunbathing area. There are plenty of beds and plenty of space. We were very fortunate that we requested a pool view and got a room on the ground floor with the pool 2m away. (ask for room 026)
I am not one to judge food as I only like basic food (i.e. toast on a morning, chips for dinner etc) but both my wife and son enjoyed tucking into the different meals. Wife said that there could have been a little more choice especially in between main meals but no real complaints for what we paid!! (And there's a Mc Donalds at the bottom of the hill!!)
Hotel is very clean and staff are always willing to help you if you need them. The entertainment was a mixed bag but thats the same everywhere I've been.
The Hotel is situated near the back of Costa Adeje but not too far for a pleasant walk. 10 mins to the bars 20 mins to the beach and thats at a steady pace.
All in all I really enjoyed my stay and got the nice relaxing break I was wanting.

| said: The hotel was very clean but furniture old fashioned and dated. Food was good but could have been hotter, plenty to choose from.
It was up a very steep hill and quite a walk to the sea front. The staff were helpful but working under limited conditions. The main bar had patio tables and chairs, not comfortable, a few padded ones were scruffy and old. We did not see anyone using anti-bacteria sprays when cleaning the plastic surfaces or highchairs.
Many people were booking sunbeads before breakfast with towels, our leaflet said they would be removed but never saw this happen. It would have been nice if each room had been given sunbeads for their own patios/garden areas, this would have made the pool area nuch less crowded. The small pool area was better but the soft drinks machines were not in use.
We would not return, and were very disappointed.

The hotel is up a very steep hill and it is a long walk down hill having to cross busy roundabout junctions and a motorway bridge it not an easy stroll to the beach it was a bit hair raising, location is not ideal if you like to go out and about although there is a coutesy bus which goes up and down the hill during the day.We found the food always cold and not properly cooked although you always have bread, fresh fruit, cheese or some salad dish.
The drinks were fine and whenever had to wait to long to be served .The entertainment is mainly for young children they all seemed to love itand is supplied by a hardworking entertainment who were always cheery and plesant.
Sunbeds what can Isay there is just not enough to go round if you do not get one when they are unlocked you can forget it .
We will definatly not return to this hotelmainly due tue location and food.

| said: After reading previous reviews was a bit weary. The food buffet style was ok always something could eat, however not had what I would call a hot meal, luke warm would more discribe it. On several occasions had to wait for chef to return to griddle to cook meat, which then cooked quicky and therefore was chewy not tender. Had theme nights for food, Italian, Chinese and Mexican. However the like the snacks the meals were repetative and much of the same. Evening entertainment, some very enjoyable, others were more like second rate working mens club acts. The Entertainment staff James, Fabritsio and Stephano, were brill, plendy to do for the adults/teenagers, shooting, darts, pool, waterpolo, water vollyball, football and kids club for the younger children though not many wanted to go to club, trying to gate crash the adults games, which the staff put a stop to. The room we stayed was not what you would expect from a 4* hotel, mold was on the tiles in the bathroom the breakfast bar was coming away from the wall, however they appeared to have refurbished some of the rooms so hopefully the rest should be upgraded soon, we stayed in room 173 which backed onto the kids play area. Whilst we were there the pool was drained after complains of stinging eyes and clothes turning yellow, the colour of a large stain running round the back of the bar and toilet area, they did attempt to remove the stain but it is still visable. Rooms were broke in on 3 separate occasions, the hotel is patrolled by 1 security guard, however I was advised by the persons who had their rooms broken into the guard did not walk at the back of the rooms where the patio doors area is and where the theives gained access. 2 of the thefts occurred at night from the living area in which children where sleeping. These rooms now have been fitted with chains on the patio doors.

| said: After reading some comments about this hotel, we were a little worried. Our 1st room was awful and very noisy above Dragon bar, asked for a move and got a better area. Rooms and hotel needs total refurbishment. Hotel our opinion only 3 star.
On the plus side staff were very good in all areas.
Food good, told they had a new chef, who has made a difference.
Dungeon rooms very dark and unappealing.
Obviously you get people out early for sunbeds around main pool, but walk up to crazy golf end small pool no-one uses always beds anytime of day.
15 minute to beach, 20 minute back. Walked to Veronicas strip and back 45 mins each way.
Would we go back, in present state no, if refurbished maybe.

The apartments are clean, but in dire need of renovation(loose wall sockets, burnt and blistered work tops and surfaces etc.)
The food is alright, breakfast being the best meal!
All this aside the staff are extremely friendly and very helpful, but I would still not return to this hotel.

| said: Let me start from the beginning. As soon as we entered Villa Tagoro we were met with the friendly reception staff, who couldn’t do enough to help us. When we were incorrectly told (by our “rep” form the holiday company who was useless) about a fireworks display for Christmas, the reception staff were straight on the phone to the organisers to see what was going on, only to find our “rep” told us the wrong day. Every time we walked though reception they were always smiling and always said “Ola!”.
When we got to our room we were surprised at how large the room was and how clean it was. There were only two of us but there was enough room for four people, with a kitchen, table, living area, bathroom and bedroom. Although the view weren’t great (being that we overlooked the tennis court), we could see past this and to be honest we weren’t going to be sitting outside on the balcony much anyway. Who would spend there whole holiday sitting on their rooms balcony?! The room was so clean, with the floors and bathroom cleaned and the beds made everyday I was extremely impressed.
The restaurant was something that I was quite worried about before going after reading what it said on this site. But the food was pretty good. It was amazing and sometimes was really hot but was nice. There was every type of food going, and as for those who couldn’t make a “balanced meal” I suggest next time you have a look at what’s on offer before going round everything and piling your plate high! The meat and the fish cooked by the chef at the front of the restaurant were really nice. And for desserts you really could have what ever you wanted.. yum! Food was always cooked properly and presented well.
The pool and pool bar area a really nice place to sit. Although the pool wasn’t heated, it did heat up throughout the day. It was great to sit by the pool with a drink in the sun. The villa surroundings were just beautiful. When reading that the was a “vomit” smell at the pool (once again on this website) I was even more apprehensive about going. But there was defiantly NO vomit smell, so I haven’t got a clue what these people are talking about. The waiters at the bar were always smiling and happy to serve you whatever you wanted, accept one who was abit shy and only cracked a smile once, but he wasn’t rude and always served what you asked for. We found him quite comical. As for the drink they really have no measurement out there and they give you so much alcohol. The cocktails are fab! As for the beer I must highlight the comment made by Mrs E Nicholson saying “Carlsberg need not feel threatened by the sickly sweet offerings of Dorado as it tasted like poo”, and ask her what sort of beer she actually drinks back at home? As Dorado tastes as good as any beer in Britain.
The entertainment which we watched almost every night isn’t as bad as it is described on here. The entertainment team work so hard, and if you have kids they will love it. They made us laugh so much and were really friendly. Once the entertainment team left at half nine the rest of the entertainment was really cheesy and proberly just what you’d expect from a holiday abroad, and was quite funny.
The hotel isn’t far from the beach proberly about 10minutes walk. Yes you do have to cross a motorway but there is a BRIDGE. After reading about the motorway on here it sounded as if you had to run across the equivalent of the M25 and dodge speeding cars. As for having to walk back to the hotel “up hill” may you reminded before booking a holiday to Tenerife that its built on a volcano and there are hills everywhere! Something Mrs Nicholson failed to realise. The beaches are beautiful and if one night you feel like not having a meal in the hotel I suggest going to inside&out down on the beach.
This was me and my girlfriends first time on holiday abroad, and we had a great time over there, made all the better with the helpfulness of the hotel staff and the hotel itself. This hotel defiantly earns it 4 stars ****. Its not quite 5 star, but its not far off. If the food was abit hotter I think that would make it that little better. Other hotels in the area have hundreds of room and tower 5/ 6 storeys high. Villa Tagoro only has two storeys which make the hotel so beautiful.
Sorry for rambling on abit but I feel that after reading what was said by others, I should clear up some items mentioned. Before leaving I was dreading my stay, now after going there I wish I never had to leave! All I have to finally say is “Gracias” to everyone at Villa Tagoro!

| said: I was concerned that the food might be below standard, reading previous reviews. But it was suprisingly good - varied every night and fresh meat being cooked on the griddle was great. They had a barbeque on Thursday and had the nerve to charge £8 euro for each person. So not many took up the offer! The children ate well, although the vegetables weren't as fresh looking as we were used to, it wasn't unhealthy. A word of warning though - at dinner they have a children's section and it is the most salt-laden junk you'll ever see! So we mostly stayed clear of that and stayed in adult section. And there was a beer and soft drink section where you could help yourself. Loads of trouble getting beer to pour, but there's a knack.. ask one of the helpful waiters.
We booked as a family but when we turned up they had no record of us coming.. don't know if that was hotel or booking company. But anyway they gave us a room which had two beds, a sofa bed and a camp bed. Very uncomfortable I'm afraid, so check when booking for a family, to make sure you have propper beds.
The local water park, Aqua Land is a few minutes away, only 3 euro taxi ride if you've got small kids. But watch out - it's expensive. It was about 70 euros for us to get in and they TRIED to get us to pay 13 euros each for sunbeds. Flamin Liberty! But the dolphin show was well worth the entrance fee alone. It was sensational. If you've got a confident child, sit at the front and they might pick you to do amazing stunts.
The Hotel's Mini-Club group of entertainers were fab - they took two lots of kids clubs each day, except Thursday and they did Mini-disco nearly every night. The kids loved it! And after a few coctails, it was entertaining for us adults too! The entertainment staff gave it 110% every night - we were impressed at what they managed on an obvious shoe-string! The only staff we weren't impressed by were the maids and the reception staff. Everyone else obviously tried really hard to make it a great holiday.
The pool is lovely and there is a little used smaller pool and paddling pool on other side of complex which is worth hunting out for a bit of peace and quiet.
Bar over the road is cheap and apparently regularly shows sports on screen.
Would recommend hotel, generally speaking. Just not for vegetarians or people with bad backs!

| said: We were at the Villa Togora for two weeks September the 1st to the 14th. I will split this report into four sections three on the hotel and one on being out and about.
Food.
The food in this hotel bordered from half decent to down right awful.
Breakfast: - the usual fare for breakfast full fry up, pancakes, cereal and some more unusual items FISH FINGERS, BROCCOLI, and POTATOE CROUQUETTES. Check the eggs are properly cooked as all of the times we had them either fried or boiled they were raw and the rest of the cooked fare was cold or luke warm
Lunch: - A lot of fish on the menu (5 out of 6 main courses some days) and what ever was left over from the night be fore’s dinner.
Dinner: - A mix and match of lunch with some added items Chicken done on a hot plate and the odd veal or roast dish.
Snacks: - Do not expect pizza, burgers ect they only put out cold meat and cheese (not in a fridge or cold plate just in the shade on a tray) and what is left over from Lunch.
Deserts were nice but repetitive and the smell from the dinning room took away your appetite.
Entertainment.
Daytime: - An excellent programme of shooting, basketball and water polo ect with the kids club doing drawing and other craft work.
Nighttime: - For 10 of the 14 nights it was done by the animation team. Whilst miming and dancing to music is ok as a fill in after having it every night it becomes boring.
The hotel
We cannot fault this hotel for maid service rooms done daily and clean towels every day. The bar staff were friendly and polite as well as the reception staff. Only had two problems for the whole holiday one was they messed up with my daughters birthday cake and never even apologised the other was the one male reception worker felt the need to be a smart arse every time you spoke to him.
Some work needs doing to this hotel but all in all it was clean and really that’s what we wanted.
The location of this hotel.
Close to the water park and a short taxi ride to town (be aware of their prices two taxis same journey 5 euros of a difference). Use the free bus during the day it is excellent for getting into the top half of the town. The Chinese next to the hotel is really good and cheap and neto shop across the road is good for snacks.
A bit of advice do not book this hotel, find another one with better food and entertainment.

| said: After reading other peoples reports on this hotel i was dreading going, but i was pleasantly surprised with what i found.
The hotel staff were always very helpful and friendly, the cleanliness of the resort was very very good. We stayed all inclusive and had no complaints about the the quality of the drinks supplied. I do think the pool area bar could have stayed open later (it closed at 11pm).
The entertainment staff worked very hard, what with looking after the kids clubs during the day also entertaining the adults, they also had to practise their shows for the evening.
The main letdown for us was the food, there didn't seem to be very much choice also by the time you got it onto your plate (buffet service) and you found your table the food was quite often cold. The food around the pool bar area at lunchtime could have been better with a bit more choice.
The hotel is situated uphill about 20 mins from the beach so wouldn't be any good for people with walking difficulties. Having said that the hotel has got a curtesy bus which runs every hour and takes you to and from the main resort.
On the whole i really enjoyed my stay at the Villa Tagoro and would definately go back again.

Bad position if you are pushing a pram. Hotel bus would be needed in daytime, approx 10 min walk to main drag but busy roads from hotel to cross. Would not suit any one with walking diffeculties.
As normal you have to queue for sun beds they are all normally gone by 9.15am.
Small selection on food bar outside. Enterainment is mainly put on by on site staff.
Our towels were changed everyday and our bed sheets changed every other day. All staff at hotel were friendly and helpfull.
We had late flights and were allowed to keep our room until 10pm for 25e which I thought was ok. I would go back to this hotel but only after all the beach front work is completed.

The food was great with a wide variety to suit all tastes.
It was very clean and the pool areas were immaculate.
The mini disco for kids was good but entertainment for adults varied from poor to good.
We had a great time here and would like to return to the hotel although I think it would be unlikely due to amount of rude people who complained about children's table manners (a 1 year old) they made the holiday at times quite unbearable

We were lead to a "dungeon" room NO. 50 but after being there a night decided that for 3 loud girls was probally the best room we could have (the rooms in the "dungeon" area are double the size of other rooms and dont have any over looking neigbours).
Food was fine always a good choice, not al a carte but found something every meal time.
The hotel was 3 euros taxi ride from Playa de las Americas or a 15 minute walk, the hotel staff were fantastic phoning taxis at night and even resturants to find out opening times and always asking if there was anything else they could do!
Finally the entertainment if a little chessy was good fun to watch while drinking the all enclusive drinks and the entertainment staff really good (especially the handsome maarten!!)
Overall as long as you go with an open mind this hotel is really good value for money in a great location!

| said: We have just returned from the Villa Tagora after a weeks holiday and although the weather was not so good the hotel is not as bad as I first feared.
The food was hot and varied, and there was always a choice of fish, meat, veg and pasta dish's available.
The deserts, few, but ok, there could of been a better selection of cheese for desert as I personally prefer cheese to sweet deserts. Drinks at the bar were excellent and were not watered down as I have previously experienced in all inclusive complexes.
Location I found good, only 10 mins downhill to beach and not too bad to walk back if your fit and healthy.
Entertainment for our group was poor, but if you have young children it was good. Plenty of activities in the daytime and there is a great games room for the teenagers to enjoy in the evening.
Our room needed a coat of paint, but otherwise was cleaned everyday and the bathroom was spotless.
All in all I would rate this more a 3 star than a 4 star, but this is reflected in the price you pay so I think it was quite good value for money.

| said: I was apprehensive about Villa Tagora after reading some of the reports, but thought it would'nt be too bad as we were staying for Christmas and New Year, but I must say it was the worst hotel ever!
The cleanliness was ok but maids were very negligent with security and I heard issues of property going missing.
Although I have put a * for food it doesn't deserve anything! The food was absolutely disgracful. It was unedible. Steaks cooked infront of you were raw- uncooked meat. All the food was on the cheap, even chip (the only thing you could eat) were cold, salad- lettuce- black on edges looked days old, disgusting. I complained to management twice about mould on melon. You couldn't even get a decent piece of fruit, and to top it all the soup-supossedly vegetable soup had pork chops floating in it! The food was that bad we had a meeting with management and they agreed to pay for our family of four to eat out for the following 8 days so this tells you how bad this hotel is!
The hotel location is poor up hill and 20mins walk from beach and main shops. The free bus didn't even turn up when we waited 15mins.
The management staff agreed to the payment for food for the rest of our holiday but agreed they had had problems all summer with this hotel.
The entertainment was rubbish and nothing started whilst 10:00pm apart from kids disco at 8:00pm and when it did start it was mostly the hotel entertainers who were very poor and it was hard work staying in the hotel. This entertainment bar was the only room and there was no other comfortable rooms to sit or watch tv.
We have stayed in all inclusive hotels for the past 7
holidays and never had a problem with anything.
We would not visit this hotel again even if it was free!!! totally disgusting! please dont waste your money going here like we have!

The accommodation was excellent.the maid service cleaned the rooms every day and made up beds and left fresh towels every day.when you have 3 children, the rooms were untidy sometimes, but when ever we came back the rooms were spotless.
The food was always very well prepared, hot and plenty of it. Also an excellent children's food bar. The hotel staff were helpful and always had time to speak to the children.
The hotel location was excellent with the aqua park only a few minutes away and the main resort of playa des americas only a bus ride away,(which was free).
In all an excellent family holiday. We look forward to going back in the future and would recommend this hotel.

| said: I was apprehensive about staying at the Villa Tagora having heard and read reports on cockroaches etc., but was very surprised and pleased with the hotel accommodation and cleanliness.
Every morning the pool area is cleaned with soap and water, the sunbeds remain chained until at least 8.45 - 9am until the cleaning is done so don't get up too early for your sundbed. Also on this subject, there are enough sunbeds to go round but not space if you want a bed to be by the pool especially if you have children, be down to get your sunbed by 8.15 - 8.30am latest. Brollies are popular so take an extra towel to claim yours.
On arrival we had been given a room known as a 'dungeon' but on asking the hotel staff if we could change there was no problem they were extremely helpful and granted our request.
The hotel food was more or less the same as other hotels catering for large numbers. As an adult I found the food satisfactory but my youngest daughter struggled at meal times. Luckily being all inclusive, burgers, chips, hotdogs and icecream was available.
The location of the hotel offered opportunities to walk to Torviscas, a nearby town (15 minute walk). The waterpark by taxi (3 euros). Plenty of family bars were found just down the road also. I mention the family bars because we didn't rate the entertainment highly, some of the shows were good i.e parrot show, sketch show but generally it was pretty basic. Kids mini disco started at 8pm and didn't finish till after 9pm.
For teenagers the hotel offers a games room with pool tables, air hockey etc., the activities are plenty through the day with good entertainment staff. Main evening shows seemed to last only 1/2 an hour.
Overall we had an excellent holiday. We would go back to the Villa Tagora.

We were on the ground floor with the park on our back door step. We werent too sure about this although our 5 year old thought it was great! The room was very clean and basic.
On the 2nd day we complained about the amount of ants we had in our bathroom. Spoke to Craig the rep who had the problem sorted the same hour.
The food was fantastic, plenty to choose from and a kids buffett too. Hotel staff were friendly and helpful. The kids club was great and the entertainment through the day was good, but at night wasnt very good.
We had a fantastic time there and none of us wanted to go home. We are definately going back there later in the year.

| said: First impressions of the hotel were good - reception area was clean and had recently been decorated, and the pool area looked lovely. However, when we finally negotiated the many cockroaches to get into our apartment, we got a different view altogether. The apartment was dirty, floors were sticky and we could not see out of the patio doors at all - they were filthy.
We went back to reception to ask for a different - clean - room but the staff didn't seem to care that we were unhappy. After about 25 minutes, and with much reluctance, we were given the key to another room which we couldn't access due to 20 or more cockroaches right at the door - obviously a nest close by.
Back to reception again for a 3rd key. This room looked much better until we had a closer look at the kitchenette, which had surfaces covered what looked suspiciously like pubic hair... the last straw for me.
We called the Thomas Cook resort office, where we spoke to MIck - he really couldn't have been nicer or more helpful. After explaining our situation, he came straight up to the hotel. He had a look at all three rooms we had seen, then asked what we would like to do.
We were offered a move to the Isla Bonita, which in hindsight we should have accepted.
Onto the next day but who knows where to start... in the light of day the pool area, while still pretty was smelly and dirty, with straws, old cups and bits of food lying around.
The food was a disgrace - we ate in the hotel twice. On our first day, at lunch time, where all that was edible was a bread roll and some chips. There were too many flies buzzing about for my liking. The only other time we ate there was on our last night, just before the transfer coach arrived to take us home. Re the alcohol, can't complain about the cola (it'll be the only thing then!) but the alcohol is local brands, and definitely watered down.
The only good thing I can think to say is that the service provided by Thomas Cook resort staff and reps was absolutely amazing - Mick at the resort office, Craig based at Villa Tagoro, and the rest of the team, can't fault them at all.
I wouldn't return to the Villa Tagoro if my life depended on it! If you really want an all-inclusive holiday in Tenerife, try the Isla Bonita from the JMC brochure.

I travelled alone with my three children a 11 year old daughter and twins of six.
The hotel was very clean indeed maids did an excellent job and staff would wash pathways etc constantly, the pool was very clean and well kept and the reasturant was also very clean.
The food was edible but boring same thing day after day (we did eat out a few times) not much for the children, but mine love friut so we were o.k.
The staff were helpful and freindly most of the time.
The childrens entertainment was good but the adult entertainment was not so good, my children loved all the entertainment and I feel that overall the shows etc were realy for the kids.
The beach is only a short walk from the complex and they do have a courtecy bus which leaves every hour.
All in all my children had a fantastic time they loved the pool, kids club, mini disco, kids games and evening entertainment (not so keen on the food) so if they are happy Im happy.
I would definatley return here but would need the company of another adult.

| said: Just arrived back from a week long holiday. Was a little concerned after some of the comments, but overall we had a wonderful time.
The hotel staff are some of the most helpful and friendly we have have ever come across in all the years that we have been travelling abroad. The waiters always had the time to speak with the kids in the restaurant.
Food was well prepared, but tedious. Chips been the only choice of potato some days!!
We thought the mini disco was poor, but our 5yr old thought otherwise, and I guess that is what counts!! We had concerns about the security of the younger children at the mini club, in as much as the children were able to come and go as they pleased with the leaders having little idea about who had gone where and when. This is fine for the older children, but 4 and 5 yr olds would easily get lost in the sprawling complex! We addressed this while we were there, and we were assured that this would be reviewed.
The maid service was excellent, rooms spotless.
Pool area got very crowded by the end of our stay. It gets very competitive for sunbeds and parasols when the sunbeds are unchained at 0830!!!!!
Would return to the hotel, although it would not be our first choice of places to revisit.

The location was good. Except it was a long way to the main nightlife.
The staff were excellent. They were helpful and so friendly. Especially the waiters. They were extremely friendly and quick in the restaurant and bar.
The entertainment was poor. The entertainers would run around the pool, throwing water bombs at children. The night entertainment was boring. It would have been better just to play music of a night.
I have been here before and would go again.

| said: Just got back from a weeks stay and have to say after reading reviews I was a little apprehensive but was pleasantly surprised.
Got tonsillitis on 1st day of holiday and doctor arrived at room within the hour. Room was very spacious and clean although could do with modernising, requested a cot which was in room fully made up.
Room had massive balcony overlooking pool but at times was not very private. Pool area very cramped and had to be up early to get a sun bed with no towel on it. For first few days of our stay both pools were freezing and only my eldest son would brave the water, we complained to the rep who was fobbing people off saying its due to the climate however after speaking to guests who had stayed before found that pools had been heated on previous occasions and were told by reception that the technician was trying to fix the heater.
On day 4 we could finally take our baby in the children’s pool and larger pool was a little more bearable. Food generally good but got sick of eating same things all the time, my favourite meal was breakfast with freshly made pancakes and full English although there's not much choice. For children however selection of drinks available superb and could take them back to your room which we found good having two young kids we could sit on balcony with a bottle of wine.
You can also request a packed lunch which wasn’t brilliant but handy for days out. Entertainment ok although my 5 year old was not impressed with mini club and enjoyed the football matches the best.
All staff were lovely very helpful and great with the kids, cleaners did a great job and were very friendly. As for cockroaches I only saw 2 1 by the pool and a dead one in the restaurant but did not get any in our room thank goodness!
All in all a good week and kids had a brilliant time but next time I think we'll go self catering in a more central location however getting about is relatively cheap and easy by taxi.

We found everything in this hotel very clean. The rooms were cleaned everyday, bins were emptied and fresh linen was provided. The pool and pool area was also cleaned every morning.
Hotel Food:
The food was a buffet style set up. There was always a good variety that varied from day to day. However for people who didnt like trying new things there was also always chips, burgers and other things most people enjoy.
Hotel Location:
With just a short walk to the beaches I found the location very good. We asked for a room with a sea view. This we did have, however part of our view was a new building just being build. We did not however hear any nose of building etc...
Hotel Staff:
All of the staff from the receptionists to the waiters were very helpful and couldnt do enough to make our holiday better. Waiters were very efficent moving empty plates and the bar staff worked very quickly to ensure every body had drinks.
Entertainment:
There was entertainmet on in the day but it could get quite annoying when they came round the pool area to try and get you to join in. Sometimes people just want to relax. During the evening you would have to get a seat quite early to be able to watch the entertainment. I found the entertainment very good apart from the fact i believe it started too late and dragged on.
I would definately visit this hotel again and would advise other people to do so. and as for cockroaches I never saw one.

| said: By paying more we booked a superior room this gave you an upper floor a massive balcony and a jacuzzi in the bathroom.
The Hotel staff could not have given us a better greeting. After working in hotels in Spain I know that staff attitude can be a problem. These were the happiest workers that I have ever come across. We had a courtesy call from reception on the second day of our stay telling us that we could call them with any problems or for any reason day or night. Our jacuzzi broke on the third day - over-use maybe ? it was fixed within a couple of hours.
Our room was kept very clean with new towels and linen everyday.
The bar staff could not help more at keeping your glass filled. the restaurant staff were very polite and efficient.
Oh Dear, the entertainment staff did let the others down with their constant shouting around the pool - would have quite happily rammed that whistle somewhere very unpleasant. Think they need to realise that most people are on holiday to relax. In an evening it would have been better if they had just put music on some nights rather than trying and failing at entertainment.
One thing that other people complaining about was the crowded pool area, they must have failed to look at was the map of the complex. There was a second pool area that was hardly used. One point during our stay we had the whole pool to ourselves !! without the entertainment staff annoying you.

| said: I walked into Villa Tagoro in January 2005 just to see what it was like. I was already staying at another hotel in Tenerife that was awful and was looking for an alternative for next year. I walked around the hotel with my girlfriend. The first impression was quite good. The hotel styling is pretty with the different shades of apartments at different heights and positioning around the central swimming pool area. The catering facilities looked quite good. People were having a lot of fun watching men trying to run across a big inflatable platform full of obstacles on the swimming pool. There was quite a party atmosphere.
There are a few problems however that put us off the hotel.
Firstly the pool area was quite busy. There is not much room around the edges of the pool so it felt a little crowded, with all the people, sunbeds and bar chairs. The rising apartments and bar surrounding the pool add to this slightly claustrophobic effect. There are too many appartments compared to the pool area which leads to the overcrowding and competition for sunbathing spaces mentioned in other peoples reviews. Everything in the brochures makes this hotel's pool and reception look bigger than it actually is in reality.
We walked around to try and see what the rooms were like. It soon became apparent that the downstairs apartments would be undesirable as their sunbathing areas would be very overlooked with little privacy unless you are far from the central pool area.
There was some refitting work going on in several apartments. A new bath and tiles by the looks of things. So there was some drilling and banging going on during the daytime right near the pool. Looking briefly into the rooms through open doors, however the rooms looked fine. The cleaner was very friendly.
On one side the hotel is only about 200m away from the main motorway which could be a problem if your room faces it. On 2 of the other sides runs a small but very busy road, so again quite a few rooms will have a traffic problem. If you look at Villa Tagoro on the map it looks like it is in a quiet corner up the mountain from Las Americas. But now there is a LOT of construction work going on up the mountain with new apartments. This means there were plenty of heavy goods vehicles / trucks driving up and down the road with building materials. Not a quiet location for some rooms. This is what the travel agents never tell you.
In reception we asked if we could see a room, as we were thinking of booking a holiday next year at the hotel. The receptionist said this was not possible that the hotel was fully booked and that the rooms were being cleaned. I said I’d be happy to see a room that was not ready. But she was unfriendly, seemed uninterested and busy. It amazes me how often businesses spend thousands of pounds advertising their business and then when you are at their door they cannot be bothered to be nice. The receptionist could have at least said “Come back at 1pm tomorrow and we should have a room that I could quickly show you”. At least a smile?! If a receptionist is not polite to you when you are thinking about giving the hotel your money then what will she be like when you have a problem? I voted with my feet and walked out.

| said: Me and my family visited Villa Tagoro on new years eve for a six day break on an all inculive basis.
Cleanliness was ok but the room itself (48) was a
dungeon very oppressive with a basement location no sun overgrown garden walls with a damp problem and a 12ft metal fence at the end to stop you escaping.
Having complained and got moved to room 22 this was not much better with 1m square mould ingress above the shower.
Food was on a self service buffet basis and was of a poor standard very often cold when you got it to your table this was remarked upon by several other guests.
Hotel location was also poor a good 30 minutes walk to the beach our room overlooked an old factory and a motorway in the distance not to mention the racetrack outside our room (an entrance route for the staff?)
Staff seemed very hassled and the receptionists were not helpful the standard answer was come back tomorrow at lunchtime its hotel policy.
We never got to see any entertainment as the hotel was oversubscribed and you could not get near the main hall unless you were prepared to sit down at 6.30.
We like to eat at 8pm so this was a non starter. In no way shape or form would I visit this hotel again and I am currently in negotiations with Thomas Cook for some reimbursement.

The hotel was clean at all times and wasn’t bad .the cleaner left clean towels every day and emptied all the bins. Very good.
Hotel food.
We spent as a family Xmas & new year there and the only time that I can say we enjoyed the food was on New Years Eve.
The food throughout the rest of the holiday was awful.
The food is served up in a buffet style so you help yourself to whatever you choose to eat if you knew what it was.
Labels are placed above each item to indicate what it is if you got them on a good day, or a bad day none would be there and I had to get the manager to tell me what was on offer and his excuse for no labels was that the labels were being printed, maybe the pens had run out of ink?
Chips, pasta, meatballs, steak cooked in front of you that made your jaw ache, the cheapest that they could buy.
The sweet dept was ice-cream and the same tasting cakes but different colours on top fruit and cheese.
Location
Top of a steep hill but a free bus to take you to the beach if you didn’t fancy a 15 min walk.
Room
If you want a good room then you need to ask for rooms from 200 onwards as some of the rooms are in a basement kind of atmosphere very dark. Our room overlooked the motorway and a building site but as it was the holidays they were not working otherwise I would have joined the long queue of people moving rooms
Hotel staff
The staff are very good and helpful.
The maintenance dept was good as we had the shower break and this was fixed within the hour.
Entertainment
Xmas day night was bingo which you paid for, to win a bottle of bubbly (all inclusive free any way) and a t-shirt advertising the hotel.
The show was the entertainment team dancing to grease and cats I felt sorry for them that the hotel couldn’t provide a professional show.
That 1st week the entertainment was non existence the 2nd week professional entertainers (if you could see them as the main stage was in the basement as was the main supporting pillars for the complex above)arrived.
The main bar only has so many seats so be early, and the marble tables were ok but the wooden tables had tops that rocked and not any good for drinks.
Also 4 drinks per person at the bar so if after queuing to get them you then had to rejoin the queue this is an all inclusive bar.
Would you visit this hotel again?
No and I think that for the money paid the hotel is vastly overpriced and not value for money.

The food was wonderful with so much choice and snacks available between meal times. Free drinks till 11pm, and if there was a queue at the bar at 11pm, everybody was served first before the charges applied!
The waiters were all in auto-pilot, well drilled, removing emptied plates in seconds.
The location like most Tenerife accomodation is located on a slope but there is a hotel free bus 6 times a day to take you into the town or beach or taxi's called by the reception(€4)are there within 5 mins.
There was a full entertainment program, and the Mr Villa Tagoro contest was the funniest thing ever, don't miss it!

| said: When we first arrived at the hotel, we were not impressed with the check-in. The staff seemed to be unable to give clear directions to our apartment, which led to us walking up and down for the next 15 mins trying to find it, only to be told that it was on the other side of the complex. Then we were sent to our apartment without the key!!
When we arrived at our apartment, which we can only describe as being a dungeon, it was a twin room, although we had requested a double room with a balcony. It had a small patio and garden that was surrounded by wire and looked out onto a building site! To get to our apartment we had to struggle down 2 flights of stairs with suitcases, which was almost impossible as I was struggling to step over all the cockroaches on the stairs!!
It was evident during our visit that although the staff tried to keep the hotel and its surroundings as clean as possible, there was clearly a problem with the cockroaches. I heard several complaints about the cockroaches from others in the apartments. One unfortunate lady had one in her bed. On speaking to the cleaning staff and Manager they seemed unperturbed by the problem, offering the weak excuse that 'this was a hot country'. On speaking to those who had balconies or were higher up, it appeared that they seemed to have less of a problem. I was assured by the reception staff that there would be absolutely no problem in changing from my room but only the next day, as many would be checking out the following day. On speaking to the Manager the following day, I found him very uncooperative. After trying to fob me off for a while and then realizing that I was not going to give in we were given another room, although there were less cockroaches in this one!. We survived the holiday by putting wet tissue under the gaps of the balcony door and the front door to stop the cockroaches running in!
Regarding the bed situation I was told there are only 3 double beds in the whole of the hotel. I then had to go through the task of explaining to the reception staff that 2 single beds in a room is not a double, this is a twin room! I was told to just push the beds together!!
The main pool area was very busy and very loud during the day as they did most of the daily activities around the pool. There was the usual queue for sunbeds in the morning. If you prefer peace and quiet look for the quiet pool. Both pools were stone cold.
The hotel food was not too bad. They tried their best to make it appear presentable and tasty and there was quite a variety. After a while though the dishes did seem repetitive. The all-inclusive option was quite good, although they should have offered a healthier option for lunch. Every day seemed to be burgers, chicken nuggets or hotdogs, chips and pizza. Should be choice of more salad and fruit etc.

The rooms were kept extremley clean by the maids with clean towels everyday. The restaurant was very clean as was the pool area, we were amazed to see it being thoroughly cleaned every day without fail.
the hotel food was lovely always something for everybody to eat bar snacks werent overly appetizing but who needs them when the restaurant is open most of the day.
The location was good it was close enought to the beach and the main strip if you wanted to visit it but far enough away to ensure a good nights sleep.
All staff were extremley friendly you often saw the manager walking around ensuring everyone was ok and enjoying there stay.
The entertainment was good entertainment staff were all extremley friendly and always smiling. Enough entertainment for everybody if you wanted to join in.
We have already booked to go again next year fantastic holiday.
One thing i would say is that if you booked with Thomas Cook dont expect anything in the way of enthusiasm or help.

| said: When we first arrived at villa tagoro first impressions were how nice and clean it was the rooms were typical of that of 3 *** but looked clean.
The maids did come every day wether or not you had your 'Do not disturb sign on your door, (even so our floor was so dusty/black all the time). After the second evening we were fed up with the food it seemed to be the same every meal/day and the restaurant always had enough flies to go round unlike the crockery /cutlery in which you had to wait for. We didnt see any cockroaches though!
The entertainment wasnt much better it was advertised as a family holiday suitable for young children it wasnt , the pool was sooo cold the children wouldnt go in and the evening entertainment didnt really start until 10.30 sorry forgot the mini club starts at 8.30 a few children dancing on a so called stage most of the time unsupervised. If you are lucky enough you dont even have to leave your rooms the music gets ridiculously loud at 10.00pm even with the door closed and doesnt queiten down till 12.00am no early nights here. As the entertainment is around the pool on an evening it is not possible to allow toddlers to roam about and found it imposible to get a seat after 8.00pm same goes for the sunbeds there arent enough to go round no were near, everyday from 8.30am onwards people waiting for the sunbeds to be unchained at 9.30am.
As for pushchair wheelchair friendly forget it too many steps all over, staff quiet happy to watch you struggle, sorry we were gutted £1600 down the drain.

| said: We had a fantastic time at Villa Tagoro despite being somewhat put off after hearing about cockroaches! In the week, we only saw three, and they were outside. I had had visions of arriving there and the hotel room crawling with them! Instead, the room was very clean and the staff had even left a light on for our middle of the night arrival, which I thought was a nice touch.
Hotel and staff were brilliant. I was particularly impressed by the Manager, who wandered about talking to people, ensuring that they were enjoying their stay. That's what you call a confident manager!
We had an apartment with sea views and the balcony was the biggest I've ever seen - in fact, I think it was bigger than the bedroom! There is a new building between the hotel and the sea, which must spoil the views from some of the rooms.
All staff appreciated the odd attempt at Spanish, at least saying Gracias! The entertainment team were friendly and worked very hard - typical hotel entertainment, not our sort of thing really.
The hotel was a wee bit away from the main resort, but they provided a courtesy bus every hour from 9am to 6pm, which also did the return trip.
We would certainly go back to Villa Tagoro.

| said: I have been to this hotel three times now and I have really loved it every single time. The rooms are always clean and I think the cleaners do their jobs well.
The food was also on a high note. It was always good. Especially the desserts. They were absolutely fantastic. You really couldn't fault the assorted cakes and ice-creams they had!
I found the location was fine. Not too far from the beach and you have a shop right next door to the hotel so you can get your postcards or if you fancy having something a bit different to eat as a snack.
The staff at the hotel are truly amazing. The bar staff are skilled with their cocktail making and are very friendly. Really, all of the staff were friendly and reception always helped you if you needed something. The entertainment team were also friendly.
The entertainment was good. It was so good in fact that I actually danced to the mini disco every night. Day time entertainment was satisfactory also as there was always an activity going on.
Really, you cannot fault this hotel. It is brilliant, and I'd definitely go back or recommend it to anyone.

| said: When we arrived we were a little dubious about the location as it seemed quite far from the beach etc, but we realised it took a while to get up in the coach due to the one way system. It took 10 minutes to walk down to the beach!!!
The hotel was spotless, the rooms were spotless, and the dining room was spotless although a little dark, and the pool area was spotless.
There are 3 barmen and 2 others to collect glasses who work all night from 6.30 till midnight non-stop.
All the staff are friendly, providing you're friendly to them (stands to reason really!), the reception staff are nice, odd sense of humour but if you laugh along with them they're ok and they all speak good English.
The entertainment staff were fantastic, working from 9am till 11 non-stop and cheery all day long! Lots of kids stuff all day, games, sports and even water aerobics.
We'd not been to Tenerife before and were very pleasantly surprised and will be booking next year’s trip to this hotel ASAP

| said: Villa Tagora was placed in a good area as it was only a five minute drive or walk from the beach. The maids were brilliant as they always cleaned up after us and were also very friendly and I can’t really say anything bad towards them.
I thought the food was excellent as they always had a good range of foods for all age groups when the restaurant closed there was always chips and burgers at the pool side.
The hotel staff were always on top of things the bar staff were superb even on a busy night.
The entertainment was absolutely brilliant because there was never a dull moment in the day they always had competitions on and they always amused my 5 year old brother I would go back for sure

The maid service at villa tagora was good they visited every morning and provied new towels etc, all until the last day when the maid did not arrive until four in the afternoon and did not a thing, to add insult to injury the repair men had been in and there was dirt dust and grit everywhere. The hotel obviously had a serious cockroach problem as for six nights out the seven it became the task of hunting and killing the cockroaches in our room one night there was seven in one go, but that was ok as villa tagors did supply us with some useless spray. thankyou for that!
Food
the food at the villa tagora was fantastic, everynight there was a different meat cooked fresh in front of you by the head chef, the resturant staff was brillant nothing to complain about, but men be aware they operate a system that requires you to wear long trousers and no vests at dinner time, thankfully mitchell suited my jeans!
Location
Villa tagora is set quite high up and it takes a good fifteen minutes to walk down into the town and the beach is about a twenty minute walk, it is possible but those with children may wish to use a cab as i can imagine it becomming a bit of a struggle.
As of the the views from our balcony, if you enjoy the beautiful and tranqil sight of a full scale building sight that starts at six in the morning until seven at night, well this is most definetly the place for you, the jcb and dumber truck watching was beautiful to watch especially when the flocks of mile high cranes were in operation. And if that was not good enough this will certainly tip the balance they have even got a motorway 200m away, perfect!
Staff
The hotel staff were okay as a whole, beware of the barman Tony his is one happy gentleman or not as you will find out, the reception is 24h so i suppose you can forgive the staff for their lack of help when you have got a problem to report.
Entertainment
The entertainment again was not brillant the usual childrens games until nine oclock then bingo to carry the night on and if you are lucky a local at to finish of the night!
Other Issues
We had a problem with our air conditioning which was reported on the very fist day and nothing was done to fix it, until the very last day that was when we had paid twnty two euros to keep the room on they had to cheek to send someone in for the whole afternoon to fix, it was really benefial for a last hour, thanks again villa Tagora. Finally if you book with thomas cook, the reps are terrible and very unhelpful.
if you wish to see some pictures do not hesitate to email us beacuse words can only tell half the story and the pictures will prove the harsh but truthful reality of villa tagora.

we have stayed in tenerife on many occasions but not at this hotel.on arrival we were not to sure about the location of the room ,but once we were settled in we found it to be excellent . the food was great with plenty of choice and bottles of wine at the table if required ,most a/i hotels serve only glasses . The staff at reception and the cleaners were both friendly and courteous and the rooms were kept spotless ,with little special touches from the cleaners.the entertainment was very enjoyable and the entertainment team were very good especially habby who was a very very nice guy ,and brilliant with children .I would have no hesitation about returning to this hotel and would highly recommend it to all .
