We had a great holiday the hotel was spotless the room we had was very large which was also spotless and the views from it were superb.

The choice of food was great did not have the same thing at all and we stayed 10days you would have to be fussy not to find anything to your liking,

Would stay here again my only complaint was the pool the sunbeds were to near each other all in a row underneath a wooden slatted top and you had to be down very early if you wanted a bed.

Other than that had a wonderful holiday the staff were very helpful and friendly.

I never book an hotel without checking its rating on this website. Past guests have awarded it 5* and from our experience is fully justified. For our conversations if fellow guests they return to the hotel year after year. If you go join the Springfield Club this entitles members discounts on extras such as food and drinks.

as people have stated this hotel has the location,it is well run and very clean.my gripes are aimed mainly at the hotel to improve it even more?
1,rooms should have an iron & iron board not as i found out a charge for 6 euros, which is a cleaners perk ie the iron was a previous guest one,English plug as well???
2,rooms need more plugs,i found two,and one was for the TV,other in bathroom???
3,breakfast,bacon was undercooked many times, and no English sausage??
4,dinner,forget the soup,it was not very tasty, why cant they do chicken or tomato, minestrone instead of the left over veg option???
and lastly this compulsion to wear shoes & trousers with the air-con off, not very comfortable, out of date, and frankly a bit dated???
as i said, this is to improve what i consider a very good hotel,i will rtn,and i strongly recommend it.

Just returned from the vulcano and cannot recommend enough. Hotel and rooms spotless clean towels daily sheets every other day, we did not have superior room but there was nothing to fault, views over sea and very spacious.
The food was excellent spoilt for choice, nothing repeated in the 2 weeks we were there. There is a carvery, and show cooking area with different choices nightly, and try the omelettes made to your taste for breakfast!
The location was ideal, shops small bars and restaurants in abundance, but area around hotel is quiet. For disabled/people with walking difficulties the area is flat and accessable.
The entertainment was varied the only downside is the entertainment area is badly thought out, with pillars everywhere making visibility of shows limited, saying that it was packed each night, you can go over to the sister hotel, bitacora which has better viibility.
I believe this hotel was at near capacity for the duration we were there and i read a comment about the age old towels on sunbeds problem!! Yes this was going on in fact we spotted the culprits as early as 6.30am, and i would estimate the guests were 95% british, we had no problem getting them though.
I would say this hotels guests are mainly older people, and middle aged couples, not recommended for under 30's or families. Iam in my forties and enjoyed it here.
I would certainly return to the vulcano, and hope to do so in the near future.

stayed in a pool view room. excellent with our own sunbeds. couldn,t fault anything apart from the fact that the sunbeds by the pools had towels on them as early as 7am. maybe a system of allocating the sun beds would benefit everyone.staff were polite and helpfull. were given a courtesy room at no extra cost.food was great, rooms spotless. would visit again.

We travelled here this July and it was the best hotel i saw. Inside it was so clean and all the staff spoke good englishe and were very helpful.

At meal times there was a hugh selection of food and most of the time i didnt know what to choose. As soon as anything was getting low it was changed streight away.

The rooms were fabulous with a great view over the town. If you are worried about noise it is not noisey near the hotel. At night we walked into town which was about a 5 minute walke, where you can watch the water fountain danceing to the music, sit in the bar or play crazy golf.

In the day time there are activities on from 10 in the morning till 3 in the afternoon these include mini golf, water polo, french boules, pool, archery, darts, pistol shooting, rifel shooting and table tennis.

i would not think twice about going back here i can not fault this hotel in any way at all.

Fantastic hotel. Perfect for couples. We stayed in a superior room which overlooked the pool. I would recommend you upgrade as the view is spectacular. Food was lovely, especially when cooked fresh on the hot plate. Very clean throughout. This was our first time at the Vulcano and will be going back again. We didn't sit in at night but the entertainment lounge was always busy at night, so it must be ok. The only negative comment is the work going on at the pool area, we were not advised and it did get very noisy during the day, however the work will be complete by now. We had a brilliant time, didnt want to leave and sorry we only booked a 10 day stay, next time will be 2 weeks.

Had a lovely two weeks at this hotel and could not fault it.

The rooms are very comfortable, and the food is very good with a good choice, in a very pleasant dining room.

We were warned about the work in the pool area before we went, and sometimes it was a pain, but they offered the use of the Bitacora sister hotel across the road if you wanted, which was also very nice and we had lunch there a couple of times. The work is due to finish on 31 May.

The entertainment was pretty good for a hotel, and the italian tenor is not to be missed, but there is plenty of alternatives in the area.

The immediate area is quite flat and easy to get about with the local buses stopping just outside. The clientele are generally of the older variety, as we are, and very few children, bless them, and a lot of them are repeat visitors which speaks for itself, as once you have stayed here you can see why.

Excellent

We have just returned from 2 weeks in the Hotel Vulcano and can honestly say we thoroughly enjoyed it.

The hotel is excellent and the staff very efficient and friendly, the Animacion team especially are a knock out.

Our only grumble would be that the main course food at evening meal was a bit hit and miss in quality, with some items being over or under cooked.

The breakfasts were fine, especially the fresh made omelettes, and the starters and deserts were OK, but the bit in between needed some improvement.

Location of hotel is superb and the entertainment was good enough to stay in for but there is a row of show bars very near for those who might want more variety.

Would not recommend this hotel to younger families with children as they don't have kids clubs and the sister hotel the Bitacora just across the road would be better, but for older couples the Vulcano is a great place to stay.

This was our second visit to this hotel and standards are still as high as ever. Rooms clean and spacious, pool fine but not pretty, staff wonderful and food is still outstanding - A huge choice every evening including smoked salmon and fillet steak. Happy hour is from 6pm - 7pm and at 10pm the professional shows start, most of them are of a good standard.

We visited at half term and there were hardly any children in the hotel (as it doesn't have a children's club)most of the guests were returning senior citizens who had been coming to the hotel for years and knew all the staff by name.

A peaceful, sunny week away, we will be returning next year.

Just returned from New Year holiday at the Vulcano hotel.

As previous reports have said it's very hard to find fault with this hotel.

Sunbed/towel situation was not as bad as I thought it would be.

We found the entertainment during our stay was good with tribute artists to Abba,Bee Gee's and Dianna Ross plus a good tenor called Roberto.

Food was excellent and varied and i didn't have chips at all during the 2 weeks 'fraid other half succumed every night!!The Gala meal on New Year's eve was something else,i'm just glad l lost weight before we went.

The hotel was spotless but we never saw a cleaner only the roommaids.

We have a Spring card and would recommend you apply for one as you get 15% off everything you buy in the hotel even during happy hour!

The hotel staff are very friendly. Hotel situated in a very nice part of Las Americas with some nice bars close by.

We will certainly be returning to the Vulcano and would recommed it.

We have just returned from the Hotel Vulcano where my husband and myself spent an excellent week. On arrival we found the reception area exquisite and the staff couldnt have been more helpful even though we arrived quite late at night.

The food was excellent with plenty of choice every time we entered the dining room. Evening meals consisted of lots of meat and fish choice and found that there was choice of potatoes and vegetables. Staff within the dining room and bar areas couldnt do enough for you.

The entertainment was not what we would have expected but plenty of bars not too far away where we spent most of our evenings out. On checking with some of the staff I was advised that the entertainment during the summer months is a little lighter.

We had a very late flight back and was given a courtesy room to freshen up before travelling and a locked room to keep our luggage and this was at no extra cost.
I would definitely return to this hotel again, and would recommend it to anybody.

Excellent hotel will be returning some time next year.

Just arrived back from our holiday at the Vulcano hotel.

Very hard to find fault with this hotel.Reports we read previous to our trip on this website proved to be accurate and we will use it again when visiting other locations.

Usual thing with the sunbeds and towels, this was not a great problem and must be put into proportion. The hotel was very clean and we found the staff on reception very helpfull.

Visited all of the sister hotels and dined in several. It is possible to have meals in the other hotels as long as you inform reception beforhand.

We reccomend strongly that you find time to visit the Playa Arena at Los gigantes the hotel even provides a free bus! we can't comment much on the hotel entertainment as we were always out and about in the resort bars. Every time we passed the entertainment lounge it was always full and everybody seemed to be having a good time.

We have previously stayed at the Vulcano 4 years ago and were so looking forward to our return visit. The hotel is still very clean, bedrooms of a good standard but we feel there has been a marked deterioration in the food standard. Indeed we think we must have been staying at a different Vulcano to the other reviews on here!!

Firstly we aren't early risers so would be having breakfast about 9.00 (it is served until 10.00am) Most mornings we were marched into the centre of the restaurant with the hordes as we weren't allowed to sit in the quieter part as it was then been set up for dinner. The same in the evening, we would go to eat about 8.15pm (it is served until 9.30pm) and could not sit at a table of our choice somewhere quieter as it was being set up for breakfast!!! The irony of this seemed lost on the staff.

I find no enjoyment whatsoever in eating my meal with barely a foot between tables, crammed in like it is a works canteen, like a bear garden. We honestly didn't enjoy one meal in the evening because of this, and eventually swapped dinner for lunch (which was 100 times better) and ate out in the evening as we could not face the hustle and bustle of the restaurant. More akin to a cattle market that a 4 star hotel restaurant.

I found the food to be lukewarm at best, and had to reheat mine in the microwave each night - again a 4 star hotel and having to microwave your dinner - I think not! Not once did i see anyone checking any of the buffet with a thermometer as i have in other hotels. The food was very repetitive - boiled potatoes or chips for 14 nights, hardly any vegetables, and vegetarians be warned you will definitely struggle with food at this hotel.

Breakfast was better food wise and a good selection of fresh fruit and cereals. I wouldn't consider the food and the dining room to be above 3 star at best, and we were bitterly disappointed in the deterioration since our last visit. If we went again it would be bed and breakfast only.

Just returned from two weeks at this excellent hotel. Could'nt fault it or the staff and especially the location.

Only minus is the location and availability of sun loungers at pool side. You do really have to be an early riser to be guaranteed a good spot, but we didn't feel that was too much of an issue.

We are extremely fussy about accommodation, food, location and overally status of the hotel, but there was nothing at all that would deter us from returning to this hotel.

We would certainly recommend this hotel if you are looking for a great holiday. Caters for wheelchairs in a big way.

The food is absolutely great, plently of choice, always hot, always a selection of meats and fish, also a grill area. Be warned, do not hang around at the sweet counter for too long!!!!!!!!!!! Too much choice if you have a sweet tooth, but there is also fresh fruit as a healthier option.

The sweets were lovely with gorgeous gateaux. Lose weight before you go!!!!Location was excellent lovely and flat for walking all the food off! Great hotel for wheelchair users no restrictions for access. The staff couldn’t do enough for you.

Our room was cleaned to a high standard every day. Entertainment was very good and varied with tribute bands Abba etc.weather was beautiful and this resort is improving all the time.

We had a great holiday and will definitely return to this well run hotel

This was our second time to the vulcano in 3 years, we found that the hotel had deteriorated in service during this time.

On our arrival there was one person on reception to attend to a hoard of new arrivals. Our room was not what we had paid for and appeared dirty, but on complaining we were allocated another which was only a slight improvement.

The food although very good was very repetitive, and unimaginative.

The pool and sunbathing area is not big enough for the amount of guests. You have to be up before 8am to secure a bed. Hotel management just choose to ignore their own sunbed rule, and beds are left unused all day with peoples towels placed on them just incase they might visit the pool.

We certainly would not return to the Vulcano.

The Vulcano hotel is a excellent hotel with a superb location and great friendly staff. This is our second visit here in 4 years but now we took our daughter of 22 months. This hotel doesn't really cater for many kids, children but they were superb with our daughter.

The rooms are spotlessly clean and the food is very good with lots of choice.

The entertainment wasn't that good for the younger families like our selves(36 and 29) but ok for the older guests.

Beware of putting your own drinks in the minibar as they do not like that and will take your drinks out and leave them on top.

We were on the third floor with a pool view and we paid extra for a VIP/superior room but didn't think it was worth the extra money! If you need a sun bed get down before 8.00am as most of them will go. I'm sure people put towels on them as early as 6 in the morning but don't go down until midday. It's so annoying. The hotel is supposed to have a policy if towels are on before 8 they would take them off but never seen that happen yet!

I'm sure this hotel will appeal to all.

What a wonderful hotel, we are already looking to book it again next year. More adult orientated, hardly any children even though we stayed over the Easter holidays.

A good location in a quiet area of Playa de las Americas, plenty of good shops to stroll around in the evening, especially the Safari Centre. Rooms are of a good size and cleaned well, all public areas are spotless.

The pool area isn't the most scenic in the world but no problems getting a sunbed around the pool. If you want one up on the higher terraces that get the sun earlier in the day you will have to be up and out by 7.30am.

To the left side of the pool is a health and beauty centre tucked away, shame it's not in a more prominent place as the massage and treatents are very good and reasonably priced. While I was enjoying the treatments Hubby was off diving with Diver City in Puerto Colon. He says that they are to be recommended as they are spot on for safety and cleanliness.

The food in both the restaurant and pool bar are of a very high standard and always piping hot. Evening meal had a wide selection of hot and cold choices plus show cooking of a meat and fish dish plus a freshly carved choice.Happy hour from 6pm until 7pm so 2 G & T's for 5 euros. Wine with evening meal about 12 euros.

Evening entertainment above average for a Spanish holiday hotel, had a really good Abba tribute band, pan pipe duo and magician plus a resident piano player and singer. The hotel operates a no smoking policy throughout, you can only smoke on your balcony or by the pool, there is a room provided by the entertainment lounge for those that cannot last the evening without a smoke.

On a final note I must add that this has to be the most disabled friendly hotel I have ever seen, rooms on the ground floor by the pool, ramps to restaurant, disable toilets in every public area and the staff could not have been more helpful.

Food is plentiful and varied and not once did we have calls to complain even if we arrived later on at meal times there was still a full spread waiting.

Staff always cleaning and public areas/rooms spotless.

One bonus this year no smoking policy in the retaurant and entertainment lounge (if you need a smoke there is a designated room where you can still see the entertainment).

Having read all the reviews before we went the Vulcano had a lot to live up to! The position of this hotel is superb and in terms of cleanliness, staff and food I would agree with the high scores it receives.

We were very unlucky to have problems with the air conditioning in our room which did take 4 engineer visits to fix and this did unfortunately colour our view slightly.

My main comment though would be about the very strange arrangement of sun beds! They are aligned in regimented rows beneath what we could only describe as 'bike sheds'.

This was in place of the more traditional sun umbrellas but I am afraid they were really no use in providing much in the way of shade.

This is the only reason I would not go to the Vulcano again as I did not feel relaxed in the environment around the pools.

My advice to anyone visiting who also feels the need for better poolside facilities is to make use of the sister hotel just across the road - the Bitacora.

I would also recommend a visit to the Playa Arena at Los Gigantes. The Vulcano lays on a free bus twice a week to this other sister hotel and it is truly fabulous there - we went 3 times during our 2 week stay.

I don't want to be negative about the Vulcano though as it is an excellent hotel - this was just about a personal preference.

We only stayed in the hotel on one evening for the entertainment - it was pretty poor but then most people choose to go out as there is so much available nearby so I can't see the hotel wanting to pay much to bring entertainers in.

We will definitely go back and try the Bitacora next time.

This is a Hotel which from the moment of arival takes care of any needs you may encounter. Staff are friendly and helpful. The hotel's cleanliness is to the highest standard and it is obvious that the hotel is well maintained from year to year. For the age of the hotel it certainly does not show it.

The food is plentiful and of a high standard. The food is buffet style but all is freshly made and the staff ensure that should any items run out that they are replenished as soon as possible.

The entertainment is average but of an acceptable standard.

The location is paramount for any hotel and this lies at the heart of "up market" part of Playa De Las Americas.
We generally travel self catering but HB at this Hotel was well worth the extra.

We befriended many people staying at this hotel and all were on return visits. It is easy to see why.

A hotel for which once visited , certain to return.

After visiting Tenerife on numerous occasions before, this was my first time staying in the Vulcano and also my first time going half board as I normally always go self catering.

In returning from my half board holiday I can safely say i will never go self catering again!!

Vulcano is well worth its 4 star rating as in all aspects it meets this standard. Check in took approximately 10 minutes(if that) and the staff were very friendly and helpful not only at this point bit also throughout the holiday.

The reception area was an absolute beauty with its gorgeous plantation setting and it was very well maintained throughout the holiday.

The hotel in general was very clean and all staff were helpful. Maids were there everyday and made your very bed for you clean towels everyday and bed sheets changed 3 times a week. We had a ground floor room which was exellent as there was 2 sun loungers and a table n two chairs for you to sit on on the balcony, Rooms were spacious and clean.

The dining area was well presented and well organised with all waiter staff efficient and friendly at all times. The selection of foods was immense - a big tip for anyone visiting this hotel would be to lose about a stone before you go because u will certainly put it on during your stay!!!

Breakfast was entirely up to yourself- cereal, toast, baps n breads jams butters chocoalte spreads freshly made omlettes with your choice of filing, fry ups fresh fruit and so on......... dinner again was mega choice with all soups and cold meat salads and rice for starters followed by steaks, chicken fillets, bbq ribs, lamb chops, paella, choice of potatoes, vegetables pizzas, puff pastries, pasta and so on!!! Deserts were definately my favourite! There were ice creams, cakes, buns, pastries, fresh cream, fresh fruit and then cheese boards all buffet style so you could eat as much as you liked!!

The location of the hotel was fantastic as the beach was app 5 minutes walk as was the main strips of shops and restaurants which was close enough if you wanted to walk but far enough away to miss all the young lively party goers.

I stayed in Vulcano with my fiance and also travelled with my elderly grandparents which suited them well as they didnt have to walk for ages to get a cuppa tea or an ice cream!

A main attraction to the hotel is the safari fountain based diretly behind it - come out of the hotel and turn right and then right again and then right again and this brought you to the fountain. Every night at about 9 0 clock the fountain carried out show of water lights and music - great if you have a video camera its very amusing we watched it nearly everynight of the holiday!!!

I enjoy Tenerife and will have no problems in returning again and I will defiantely be back in Vulcano again. The hotel is certainly more suited for the elderly person however this suited my fiance and myself as there was no banging music and crowds of young ones!

No complaints about this holiday and I will definitely be back in Vulcano again possibly for a honeymoon in 2 years time!!!!

We stayed at this hotel for two weeks and whilst we enjoyed our holiday we thought it was not up to 4* standard other than it's excellent location between Los Christianos and Los Am. Plenty to do in the surrounding area which was just as well because the entertainment seemed dire. Very close to shops, bars & restaurants.

We chose this hotel because there was supposed to be no children but there was lots. The rep told me that it was some sort of mistake and the hotel was still taking bookings from families. It was made worse by being during the Spanish school holidays. Not as bad as some hotels but kids carrying on in the restaurant and pool area is not our ideal.

Found most hotel areas clean but regularly had to pick up long black hair (not ours) from the bathroom floor and shower. It seems that the cleaners go round the rooms with the same mop and tranfer hair from one room to another!

We had to wait about 30 minutes in a queue at reception on arrival to check in. Generally reception was very slow.

The food was good and varied but got a bit boring after a few days and we ended up eating out most of the time the second week.

The Rep (Felicity) was good but a bit elusive due to her other duties.

The pools were reasonably quiet and lovely and warm. They are supervised until 6pm after which we found the balls and inflatables come out with unsupervised children/teenagers which is against the rules.

We watched with facination the stream of British men sent out in the morning to book sunbeds which is also against the rules. Pathetic and annoying but we found that when we returned to the hotel about 3 or 4pm their was spare sunbeds available.

Our room was on the first floor looking out to a path at the back. It didn't have much sun and looked out to a sex shop across the path. We were slightly concerned at first but found the busy path interesting to watch and convenient for some excellent bars, shops and restaurants close by.

Apparently the hotel WILL be child free next year and we may return for the convenient location.

This is a really good hotel. I agree with all the positive comments made. We found the choice of food amazing, Fillet and entrecote steak for example. Prawns, every kind of of sweet , fruit and plenty of choice for vegetables. We were spoiled for choice. The rooms were spotless asnd the whole hotel was very well maintained.

The locatiion was perfect in easy reach of the shops, bars. The staff could not have been more pleasant.

We did not stay in for the entertainment but what I heard sounded OK if you did not want to go out. Best bit, no children. The pool area was very good with no loud music or football.
Bliss.

We had a gound floor room with own terrace sunbeds etc. We were upgraded from a standard, I don't know what they cost but it would be worth every penny.

This is my second time at this hotel.

Again the service was very good, and I thought the food was excellent, I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone. The staff were very friendly at all times.

I think the main attraction of the hotel is that is far enough from the main resort, not to be to noisy, but easy to walk to if you want to.

The area around the hotel has excellent shopping centre, also many nice cafes for the evenings.

Over all a excellent hotel and area.

We stayed at Vulcano last November as well as this one, and nothing has changed. A very good hotel which I would recommend to anyone. People return year after year, so it must be good.

You’re not supposed to reserve sun beds, but they do. If you want a good position, be down there before seven.

Rooms are clean and tidy. In them you get, Hairdryer, a safe, (deposit needed) air conditioning, and TV.

Food is good, but they do have a Canarian night and not a lot of veg around I thought on those nights.

Hotel is spotless and the staff are good.

One tip I would give you. Join the spring club at reception. And instead of using cash, sign for everything, settle your bill at the end of your holiday and you get a 10% discount. Also use the phone in your room to phone home, there much cheaper than the pay phones and it goes on your bill as well.

If you’re energetic (we are not), they have games room near the pool. They have competitions every half hour. Rifle shooting/darts/pool/pistle shooting/French boulle/shuffle board and it goes on.

The night time entertainment is poor in my opinion, but then again I find most hotels are.

Alas we've stayed here two years running, so we'll go somewhere else next year.

I'm sure there are many equally good hotels around.

One things for sure. I'll check this site before deciding.

Stayed at the Vulcano hotel Las Americas. We have stayed in this hotel twice before it is the ideal relaxing holiday hotel.

We were located in a room on the 0 floor which is situated by the pool area it was a fantastic room with our very own patio with our own sunbeds, brolly, table and chairs. It was great not having to reserve a sunbed with a towel.

The food was fantastic, and so were the staff so very helpful. They all had a job to do and they did it so well.

The hotel was spotless, the reception area was so cool and inviting the entertainment was very good.

The Vulcano is situated in a nice area yet was near shops and bars of every description you just could not go wrong would suit everyone.

Thanks for a wonderful holiday

We stayed half board which we are glad about because we couldnt fault the food.

Our room was always kept clean and never found anything not cleaned properly. The staff were always very happy to help with anything.

We really liked the location, close to the beach not to far to walk to the big selection of bars with really good entertainment.

We are visting this hotel again in 4 weeks time!!

From the moment we arrived at the Hotel Vulcano we were impressed with the decor and ambience of the reception area with it`s clean and tropical appearance. The staff were always courteous and could not help enough. The food was of a very high standard with plentifull choice and well presented.
We have no complaints at all regarding our thoroughly enjoyable stay there, although the entertainment could be improved upon.

The entrance to this hotel is amazing and asitting amongst the botanical part of the hotel is very therapeutic!

We had a gorgeous room although we never paid for a big room we did ask for a double bed (at no extra cost) so we got the standard sized room but, with an extra sitting area which was huge.

The evening meals were glorious not one bad meal had! The breakfasts were not so good we have had much better at other hotels but, having said that the breakfasts were not that bad.

Sunbeds seemed to be a problem certainly during our 2nd week as it seemed to be getting busier we always managed to get one (well two) so no problems there.

The staff are very attentive though in the dining room that could bve a bit annoying once you have eaten your last mouthful and put your knife and fork down whoosh! the plate's gone! The tables were also a little close together although we used to take our meals at not so busy times so that wasn't too much of a problem but, I would imagine at busy times it could be a bit of a nightmare.

The hotel is exceptionally clean and very welcoming, all in all an enjoyable stay.

Having read the very favourable reviews about this hotel, we decided to go for it and it surely lived up to the high standards almost all authors have spoke of.

This is indeed a beautifully appointed hotel, well worthy of its 4 star rating with the reception area decked out as a lush sub tropical garden with a waterfall and an abundance of international flora, labelled for the horticulturalists amongst us. First impressions count for an awful lot and this area exudes a warm ambiance at night with comfortable seating, strategically placed lighting, running water and recorded bird noises, but without the flying insects which would plague such an outdoor setting.

The accommodation itself is exceptionally well appointed, roomy, clean and comfortable but with one small downside namely the double bed. Although large, it consisted of two mattresses butted together which meant there was an uncomfortable ridge in the middle of the bed. This may well of course suit those couples who argue a lot and require distance between each other, but we found it a little annoying and uncomfortable. Sound insulation between rooms was good and the provision of carpets in the hallways meant that noise levels were relatively low during the wee small hours. The air conditioning was just adequate in the rooms but was far from noisy which perhaps suits those amongst us who hate ticking clocks.

On the positive side, the food was of high quality, plentiful with a varied and wide choice at all sittings with several dishes being cooked continuously on the grill which ensured their freshness. A nice touch was the microwave in the dining area for those who like their food very hot and there was never a queue for its use either. Unfortunately you cannot get even a glass of water at dinner unless you pay for it and I felt this detracted a little from the excellent service/food which was always on offer in the restaurant.

The hotel is situated in the nicest part of the resort with good bars/entertainment close by and barely a ten minute walk to the sandy beach. The hotel itself caters in the main for shall we say the more mature guests amongst us and the 'in house' entertainment reflects this and was not to our taste, but then again you cant please all the people all the time. Lager louts were noticeable by their absence and we are sure the hotel would actively discourage any rowdy behaviour in the unlikely event of it occuring. We can only conclude by saying ' enjoy ' as you will be hard pressed to find a better hotel without paying a small fortune for the priviledge. (uxbridge)

We arrived at Hotel Vulcano and were overawed by the Reception area which we thought was quite beautiful and relaxing. We were greeted with respect and efficiency and were soon shown to our rooms by a nice young man who also took care of our luggage which does not always happen in some 4 star hotels. Over the 2 weeks we stayed at the hotel we were very pleased with our treatment by all members of the staff. We found the variety of food extremely good and the entertainment at night reasonably good. Room cleaning was always up to a good standard as was the cleaniness of the pool area. There were always plenty of sunbeds for everyone and the areas of shade meant that everyone had a chance of getting out of the sun, if need be. We were given a room on the ground floor overlooking the pool and it was nice to have our own sunbeds and parasol on the terrace, especially around 1700 hrs when we went back to the room after a relaxing day at the pool side where we also the enjoyed the atmosphere and company of other guests. All in all we had a wonderful holiday and hope to go back again soon.

This is the second time we have visited this hotel within 2 years.Standards are high- very clean and comfortable- and in my opinion it is situated in the best part of Playa de las Americas-quiet but with easy access to the beach/shops/bars.

The Vulcano is excellent but not perfect. The dining room is rather cramped and can be noisy and I noticed that some wheelchair users did struggle to move around the dining room. The waiters are efficient-perhaps too efficient as they tend to dash around and this is not always conducive to a relaxed atmosphere. We enjoyed a meal at the Vulcano's siter hotel the Bitacora and certainly there was more space between tables and the food was just as good.Just a minor point but obviously important if you have mobility difficulties.

I would say that this is a hotel more suited for adults than children as most guests tended to be middle aged/elderly and I did not see any children (I accept that we did not visit during the school holidays but there were plenty of children on the flight)

Hotel is situated close (5 minute walk) to a clean beach where there are ample sun beds. There are some water sports and I would say that it is a safe area for children as it is fairly small and you would be able to keep an eye on them.

The area is obviously trying to be 'upmarket' and many of the shops sell expensive luxury designer items-jewellery/clothes/electrical goods. If you enjoy browsing then this is a good place to be.

There are plenty of bars and restaurants in the resort and these again a few minutes walk from the hotel which is situated in a quiet area.

If you enjoy going for a stroll then there is a pleasant walkway along the sea front linking Los Cristianos and Playa De LA.

This was our first visit to this hotel. We were not disappointed! Everything was great!

We stayed for one week and when we arrived home we changed our August holiday and returned for two weeks! We could not fault this hotel.

The room was good and food, well, what more could you ask for? We are returning again in August, 2006, can't wait!

Entering into the foyer of the Vulcano was akin to stepping into Kew Gardens - it really takes your breath away!

The food was excellent and always plenty of choice altho' we recommended going to breakfast early as after 9am it was a bit chaotic at the toast machine!

No struggling to find a spare sunbed at 9am - there were still plenty to be had which made a refreshing change.

The location was excellent - in line with the Mare Nostrum Casino - far enough away from Veronicas but easy walking distance to los Cristianos.

We found the staff very friendly and helpful, our room was fantastic and we had regular maid service.

Entertainment was great only one complaint and that was that some of the entertainment was a little OTT for younger guests!

On the whole a FAB holiday and can't wait to go back!
