| said: This hotel was superb!!! Check in took 5 mins and within 10 mins of getting to the hotel we were in our room. The rooms were spacious very clean and this was cleaned everyday with your towels etc changed three times a week.
The meals were very good, theme nights were very well organised with staff dressing in the country costumes etc. A must is the BBQ on Thursday nights, however booking is required. There is no extra charge for this and the evening is well worth going to.
You have everything on your doorstep when you leave the hotel, the beach is approx 5 mins walk away.
Hotel staff were very good, the restaurant staff could not be anymore helpful, nothing was any bother to them and they were very good with children.
Yes there is entertainment, kids mini disco very well organised and run by two staff. Organised activities during the day with a member of staff. Evening entertainment well, as previously stated very much a Phoenix Nights senario, but still very enjoyable if not at times funny.
The pool area is very clean & tidy, there is no inflatables in the pool or balls and there is a life guard on duty during the pools opening hours. Plenty of sunbeds during the day, however it did bug me a bit when people put their towels on three or four sunbeds first thing in the morning and then not turn up til 3 or 4pm.
Everything is charged to your room, so make sure you go on a regular basis and pay some off or you may get a nasty shock when you check out after two weeks.
We also had a treatment in the spa and this to was superb.
This was a very enjoyable holiday and I would retunr to this hotel.

| said: Absoultely brilliant hotel. Very clean, food fantastic with three themed nights, rooms good size. We had a superior room where you get free entry to the spa 2hours a day, its well worth it as we went in everyday and this would be expensive if paying everyday. One thing that was a down point was we paid for supierior room (this includes pool view) and the first 2 nights we had a normal room, however they did transfer us two days after and as a compensation they gave us a free dinner. Didn't like the fact you don't pay for your drinks there and then, you get the bill at the end so be careful with how many you buy! We had a big bill at the end! You have to be early in putting your towels down for sunbathing, sunbeds go quite quickly. The enternainment is ok for those whith kids. The first couple of hours is for them. The acrobat men were really good later on and the clown was good. However, if you are young then i wouldn't recommend staying in!

| said: Just returned from a holiday staying at La Siesta.
We have to say that we were more than impressed with the hotel.
The location was fantastic and only a 2 minute walk into the center of things. The hotel staff were all very friendly and we checked in with minimal fuss .
We were half board and I would say it was well worth it. The meals were fantastic as we were there only for a week none of the meals were repeated we were especially impressed with canary night, italian night and mexican night. The waiters all dressed according and even had canarian live music playing while we ate.
The bar in the hotel was great and my 2 children loved the entertainment on the evenings which gave us the opportunity to sit and have a relaxing drink!
Kids club was well used by my children and it gave us a chance to use the spa in the hotel....spa was quite expensive but was well worth it!
Overall a great hotel and we would definetly return if we ever visit tenerife again

| said: Myself and my husband stayed in La Siesta over Christmas and New Year. I never use travel agents, so booked flights with Thompson and hotel with Travel Republic. From speaking to others who had booked the full package with Thomsons and who were on exactly the same flight as us, we'd saved over £700.
On first impressions, walking into the hotel the reception/foyer area was immaculate and looked lovely as they had decorated for Christmas. We were checked in quickly and with the minimum of fuss. I was slightly disappointed to find we'd been allocated a ground floor room at the back of the hotel, as I would have paid extra for a superior room but none were available. However, getting into the room we discovered we'd got a nice, private paved area at the back with 2 sunloungers which made up for the lack of balcony! This got the sun from 11 - 4 every day, which avoided me having to join the rush for a sunbed around the pool.
We only ventured down to the pool once, as i insisted we weren't going home without going in it. Being December and 25 degrees at the hottest, the water doesn't get much chance to heat up and it was absolutely freezing - and didn't get to the "it's lovely once you're in" stage! Got out blue but I was satisfied that we'd been in - needless to say we didn't repeat the experience! Had a drink at the bar a few times though, and the pool area was always very clean and pleasant to sit around.
The hotel rooms were very comfortable and spacious, and the bathroom in particular very nice. It was spotlessly clean, the maid never missed one day (even Christmas day) and the bedding was changed twice in 2 weeks. We took advantage of the 24 euros to have the fridge filled, and although i'd agree the contents weren't worth that it was worth it to me to have the use of the fridge for 2 weeks.
I found all the staff pleasant and efficient, and when we had a problem with the safe one day the engineer was called and it was quickly sorted out. Like most places, i found if you are polite and friendly you will get the same in return.
I can't comment on the food as we were only bed and breakfast, and as my husband doesn't like buffet food (never hot enough for him) we didn't bother trying it. Likewise the entertainment - there's that much happening aound the resort we didn't stay in the hotel at night.
All in all, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel to anybody and we'd definately stay again. I thought the hotel was lovely and well worht its 4 star rating.

| said: We went on holiday with grandparents who had been there before. I can not fault this place at all. We we lucky to have a room which overlooked the pool I know it costs more but it is well worth it considering you get use of the spa 2 hours per day also, fruit. water and toiletries. I know some people will moan at having to pay extra but looking our on to a carpark or the main road, I don't mind. The food was very nice, varied nights Tenerife, Mexican, Italian which were all nice, my 7 year old found something to eat all the time and he is a pain when it comes to food, his favorite was steak and potatoes or veal and potatoes. Be prepared to put on weight the puddings are really good.
The room cleaned to a speck I have never seen in Tenerife before. The cleaners start at 7.30 i think if not 8am. The pool area in 2 week was not cleaned twice but you must remember these people are like us they need time off as well.
The new kids club was great it opened at 11.00am and closed at 6pm that was 6 days a week, my son had a great time. The two animation guys where superb, even got my husband involved which is totally unheard of.
If you have a Club Alexandre room the spa is free for 2 hours per day which at the end of the day after lying in the sun for ages is great.
I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone.

| said: The restaurant was very clean. The food was excellent but repetitive. The rooms were very clean. Fresh towels and cleaned every day. The hotel is in the quieter part of Las Americas but only a very short walk to pubs & Shops etc. The hotel staff were very helpful and courteous. The night time entertainment was rubbish (unfortunately). The kids club was very good for my 8 year old. It was open from 11am to 5pm. She could go in and leave any time she wanted. No need to book in.
The price of all beers and alcohol was about 1.50 euro dearer than the local pubs. The pool area was not cleaned daily and was usually sticky under foot were someone had spilled coke the day before.
A lot of people complained about this. The usual fight for sunbeds started around 6am. People going out and leaving towels. And I'm sorry to say it was the Brits doing this. By 8.30am you would have been lucky to get a sunbed. This was bad enough but a lot of folk did not appear down until near midday. The Hotel Staff were reluctant to remove the towels.
Some guest did remove the towels, off course this caused lots of arguments. Gave me something to smile about while lazing around on MY sunbed. Some parents saving sunbeds for their very small children. I thought this was unreasonable, seeing as the kids are always in the pool. If you are booking I would recommend getting a superior room. For an extra 100 bucks you get a pool view and use of the Spa. (2 hours every day).
The Spa was fantastic. Used it every day from 4 - 6. Nice way to finish the day off before going out. A few lizards and cockroaches about (big ones too) - this is to be expected in a hot country.
A nice hotel - Worth a visit. Went to Loro Park - Whales and Dolphins - Great Shows. Unfortunately they let too many people into the park at the same time. So there is lots of pushing and shoving for the shows. Lost my 8 year old for about 15 Min's. Couldn't see her because of the crowds.
Finally found her 20 Min's later - talk about a blood rush from the head. Yep typically they squeeze the tourists in to make lots of money. Take my advise - Don't Go - Waste of 100 euros for 2 adults and 1 child. Plus the price of food and drink in the park is ridiculus. Went to Jungle Park - It was too hot so there was no shows on - All the animals were hiding in their dens. Hardly seen a whisker. Monkeys were going mad & fighting because of the heat. Only stayed there a couple of hours and left.
Unfortunately everyone had the same idea as us, and all left at the same time. It was chaos outside waiting for buses and taxis. Asked for discount but didn't get it. Wasn't really expecting to anyway. Another waste of a day and 70 euros. Didn't go to the water park.
Was advised not to go because the price of food and drink was high plus you had to buy your own rink to use for the slides.

I found the rooms clean with plenty of space, hotel staff pleasant and happy to talk to me.
The food was ok for this type of hotel apart from the Italian night ( I hate pasta) but the rest of my family enjoyed it, as my grand daughter was with us (aged 3) we enjoyed the entertainment, how ever it may have been different had she not been with us,on the whole not a bad hotel, ideal for wheel chair users, plenty of ramps and the area around the hotel is flat, yes I would go back to this hotel again.
I had nothing to moan about thus making this review boring.

| said: The hotel is in a quiet area there are clubs nearby, but we were unaware of any noise from them. Everything is within easy distance.
There is a small supermarket opposite the hotel and a larger one if you turn right out of the hotel. La Siesta doesn`t have a car park we had to park our hire car on the main street outside the hotel.
Our room was on the ground floor, facing the pool and got all the afternoon sun. We paid extra for a superior twin which included 2 free hours per day in the spa, fruit on arrival, free robe and slippers.
The room was cleaned daily to a very high standard, as was the whole hotel and pool area.
There was plenty of sun loungers for all, but most beds had towels on them very early in the morning.
The best time to go into breakfast is between 8am-9am as it can become very busy after this, on one occasion I had to lay my own table.
The coffee and orange juice not very nice, but overall a good selection of food to suit all tastes. Sometimes the food was tepid.
The spa was great there is an appointment system to use the facilities, this ensured it was not overcrowded usually 6-8 max at one time.
Entertainment: Only caught 2 nights and felt it was pretty basic. One afternoon there was a fashion show by the pool for swimwear which was good fun.
The staff generally were ok, the service at the bar could be a little haphazard as staff were unaware who needed serving first. The reception staff were very helpful and friendly.
Niggles: No tea/coffee making facilities in the room.
Having to pay for the safe,(never had to in other 4* hotels) a refundable deposit, plus so many euros per day(can`t remember how many)A long walk round to our room from reception with no short cuts. We found the beds too hard for our liking but this is personal choice.
I would return to this hotel though.

The hotel food was not 4 star food, there was simply not enough choice, we have been to most 4 star hotels now within the area and for food La Siesta does'nt come close.
The location of the hotel is great, almost everything is within walking distance.
We went out everynight so cannot comment on the entertainment.
I would go back to this hotel again, but most probebly self catering.

The hotel was in a perfect position only a short walk to the sea where there were lots of places to eat and drink. If you wanted something more lively then you were also only a short walk away but far enough away so you could not hear any noise.
The food in the hotel was OK but nothing bad.
The pool was lovely with lots of room, no need to get up at the crack of dawn to get a sun bed but it was December.
An excellent relaxing holiday

The hotel, our room was cleaned everyday ,clean towels, room tidied, lovely!
The food was of a v/good standard, even my very fussy 10 year old managed to eat with no complaints. The waiters were very friendly and helpful with the children.
Hotel entertainment was fantastic,as previously said Miguel and Rhuzzo kept my kids entertained all day, plenty of certificates/tee shirts to be had/won for the games, it made my two kids holidays.
Would we go to this hotel again? Yes definitely.
I would recommend the transfer service Via Express
Booked both ways with them and was very pleased with the service-16 euros each way for the 4 of us in a minibus.
Cheers Dave

All staff were helpful and friendly (alright, there was one breakfast waiter with a bad attitude)The Hotel is immaculately clean, pool area pleasant - be warned there are several who like to reserve beds as early as 6am - leave it till 9.30 and you probably won't get one.
Food was served buffet style and was varied and up to 4 star standard. The pool is in fact salt water (not something I had noted prior to arrival)It is worth upgrading to a room with apool view as those without do not have the nicest of views over the car park or shopping centre.
All in all we would definately stay again.

The room was cleaned to a good standard every day. after one late night out we put out the do not disturb sign and had a call later in the day to see if we wanted the room cleaned.
We have stayed in many foreign hotels on a half board basis and were very impressed with the choice and availability of the food (and it was hot)! Sometimes there was queue for tables.
The hotel was ideally located for shopping, restaurants and the beach.
The staff were friendly, however if you cant find a sun bed (because they are all covered with towels) dont expect the staff to help. Some of the sun beds have towels and no people on them until lunch time and gone! So we joined in and reserved ours as well!
Despite this I would return to La siesta in the future.

| said: I was looking forward to visiting this hotel after reading the positive reviews and on first glance was pleased.
The rooms were spacious and tastefully decorated with everything co ordinated. The bathroom was nicely tiled and a decent size.
However after 10 minutes my daughter noticed something on the floor which turned out to be a cockroach!! After panicking we settled down to sleep. I woke at 7.30 am to find another crawling up the wall - not very nice. I reported it to reception who said that they had a problem on the island (which i knew anyway) and they had a firm in the spray but I dont know how often. The only advice that they gave was to keep the patio door closed as they can fly in!
In the main reception areas cleaning was through and regular. However I think more attention should be paid to the pool area as dishes were left from the day before and some areas were quite grubby. This should not occur in a 4* hotel.
Dinner was hit and miss. Please note that if you are fussy about what you eat you may find it quite hard. The potatoes were quite hard and tasteless. Salads were ok which my husband isnt a big lover of so he struggled to find something especially on themed nights which take place on a Friday, Tuesday and a Sunday. On the Spanish night one of the dishes on the menu was tripe!!! Chips are not served every night and there is no childrens section. I was not impressed with the food at all.
Entertainment was awful. Most nights they have a duo on who sing basically the same songs night after night. At 10pm they have clowns samba dancing, a parrot show. I didnt see all acts but waht I did see wasnt up to much.
Drinks were expensive. In the bar in the evening soft drinks were 2 Euro 10 (A small glass). By the pool bar a soft drink was 3 Euro 40 for a medium. This can work out very expensive if you have a few children.
All in all I was disappointed with my stay at La Siesta and was glad to come home. I went expecting perfection and was I got was average. I expected a lot more for my money.

The rooms are lovely, but we had a very poor maid who changed the towels and bedding, but didn't clean the room and by the end of the first week it was covered in dust!!! Not good for the Asthma.
The food was very poor and not of the standard of 10 years ago. We found whatever meat was on offer one night got stewed the next. Bacon was always burnt at breakfast and you were only allowed one egg and had to que again for another.
The location was great with all we wanted around us plenty of shops and nightlife.
The hotel staff were ok but word of warning do check your bill at the end of the holiday for drinks, minibar and safety deposit box, just make sure they refund you the deposit!!!!!!
The entertainment in the hotel wasn't that great but we did spend most of our time out of the hotel.
We will not be going back to the hotel again.

We were on the ground floor and had a lovely patio area with plants and two sun loungers. The room we stayed in was lovely and spacious with very nice decor and the air conditioning was so good that on a couple of occasions we had to turn it off because our room was too cold!
The reception staff were very polite and helpful even on the really busy days when loads of people were arriving and departing.
The restaurant staff worked really hard to clear tables quickly and keep lots of food on hand at all times. I have no complaints about the food whatsoever. There was always more than enough choice, the food was always hot and fresh and there were special food evenings - traditional Canarian, Italian and a barbecue - but even on these evenings there were lots of alternative food options.
We only saw a tiny bit of the entertainment because most evenings we went out but what we did see looked to be okay. The bar where the entertainment was held is very nice and really reasonably priced.
The hotel is really nicely located with easy access to the beach and lots and lots of shops. There are a few nice bars within two or three minutes walk too and they cater to most tastes. There's even a real English chippy just down the road too!!!
All in all this is a fabulous hotel in a lovely location with great staff in place. I would have no hesitation in recommending it to anyone at all and would love to go back at some point.

The food was excellent we stayed on a half board basis and there was plenty of choice - whether you were a vegitarian or a meat eater.
The standard of hygiene throughout the hotel was above average - with very friendly staff.
The hotel provided entertainment on a nightly basis we saw 3 of the shows which we enjoyed very much.
We would definitely stay in the same hotel again and would recommend it to our friends.

| said: We too had read some poor reviews of this hotel but we were very pleased overall with overall standards.
We unfortunately got off to a bad start when arrived because the hotel was full and we had to stay in another 4* hotel for the 1st night. Some friends of ours experienced same last year! They did however compensate by giving us a suite and full board.
We have stayed at several Hotels/apartments in Las Americas and apart from the initial set back and somewhat unfriendly staff we would return there.

Beautiful hotel spotlessly clean and such friendly staff who couldn't do enough for you.Lovely room overlooking pool which is a must,I wouldn't like to have been in one of the outer rooms because of the view.
Food was really tasty and well prepared although I must say you had to be there early or queue for a table entertainment not up to much unless you were under 5yrs old.
All in all a fantastic holiday and would definitely return to the La Siesta.

| said: Stayed in this hotel for a week, exceptionally clean and well maintained, maid service every day. Really nice hotel and pool area.
Would not stay at this hotel again due to the service and food quality in the restaurant, it was under staffed and you had to queue every evening unless you wanted to eat about 9pm (with 2 children age 8 and 12 thats a little late!) After the 4th night we ate elsewhere.
The food was of a poor standard and not enough choice of vegetables etc, for example boiled potatoes or chips every night, just one cooking area which was not big enough for the size of hotel. I would definately rate the food as a 2** rather than 4**.

No lilos, no ball games, no noise. We went for fun but were frightened to make a noise. Lifeguards felt like security guards.
Food was buffet style but very good.
Staff slow and not at all helpful.

| said: A fantastic newly refurbished hotel, spacious rooms exceptionally clean. Our room view was onto the pool area which was really lovely and ideal for watching the evening entertainment from the balcony.
The entertainment staffs were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The food was exceptional with plenty to choose from ate there the whole 14 nights. They have a BBQ Canarian evening on a Thursday which i recommend you book onto. The children’s entertainment (not enough) is okay they have a mini disco on the evening for around 30/45 minutes.
The only thing I'd have a moan about was the strict poolside rules. I have a 19 month old child we were told he was not allowed to wear his t-shirt in the pool at any time? Also they don’t allow inflatables in the big pool.
In summary the la siesta is a really lovely hotel in a quiet location, I highly recommend a visit to families and couples. Happy holidaying ;o)

| said: La Siesta is in a quiet part of Playa with the only noise being the digging up of the road outside (again)
Entertainments at the hotel were over by 12.00 so after this time there was no noise from the bar below our rooms.
The hotel was spotless and there appear to be plenty of cleaning staff.
We did not really watch any of the entertainments although the magician looked fun and the barbecue party which we watched from our balcony was a hoot and obviously well-enjoyed by all who took part.
We were there on a half board basis and there was plenty of food choice, resonably well-cooked although using cheap ingredients and all rather bland as is the way of hotel mass-produced buffet food. The dining room had a canteen atmosphere so you were not encouraged to linger. They always appeared short staffed here, especially on barbeque night and some staff were abrupt.
We ate out at a couple of local restaurants and found the meals very poor. Much better to walk or take a taxi to Los Cristianos and have some good seafood.
We had some problem with the air-conditioning and it took 3 visits to the desk before it was fixed. On the third visit we spoke to the manager and it was dealt with.
The pool area is spacious and very pleasant.
The balcony is small but adequate. If you want morning sun on your balcony, take rooms overlooking the pool, above the bar. Evening sun is on the opposite side. The rooms are large as I believe this hotel stared out as an aparthotel, and there is comfortable seating and room to move about.
We met someone who had been here 24 times so that must be a recommendation! We thought it good value for money and my mother is going back in October.

| said: The La Siesta has just undergone a complete refurbishment, this has included a brand new pool area, a much larger more comfortable dining room, and newly decorated rooms which include a much needed larger bathroom.
The hotel is cleaned from top to bottom every day by what can only be described as an "army" of cleaners, they even clean all the windows every day in the reception and lounge area.
The food is superb, all of our party found that the choice was very good and we always found ourselves coming away feeling that we'd had a good feast.
Hotel staff were excellent, nothing was to much trouble and they spoke very good English.
The entertainment was okay but we did not stay in at night very often so we may have just been unlucky, as what we saw was not that great.
I would certainly return to this hotel and am looking to go back as soon as this June. This would be my third visit to this hotel and I can honestly say that most people would not be disapointed if choosing this hotel.
