| said: We booked a last minute holiday to the Acorn Sumba hotel in Calla Millor.
When we arrived we were allocated rooms in the Borneo which is a sister hotel to the Acorn Sumba and right next door. We were able to use the facilities of both hotels if we wanted.
This is a 4* hotel overlooking the beach and a five or ten minutes walk (depending on how fast or slow you walk!) to the centre of Calla Millor. The rooms are very clean and comfortable with tv (only one english channel) and air-con plus ceiling fan. The air-con was'nt great but the fan made up for it.
There were 3 of us and we had 2 ajoining twin rooms with sea-view and were not charged a single supplement which was great. We were on a B&B basis but could have upgraded to half board or all-inclusive for not a great deal of money (about £60 I think) but we decided not to so that we could eat out in the evenings.
We did'nt sample any of the entertainment but understood from other guests that it was good. The only critisism we had was that although our chambermaid was very friendly along one or two of the reception staff, the majority of staff did not make us feel particularly welcome. I would put this down to the fact that they cater mainly to the German tourists and therefore did not speak much English, and like most Brits, we don't speak much Spanish or German - so it was more a communication problem.
A couple of times in the restaurant we were made to wait while other guests were seen to, despite us being there first.
Having said this, it would not stop me returning to Calla Millor or indeed the Borneo hotel as overall it was of a very good standard and we had a great holiday.
