| said: My boyfriend and I travelled to the Sol De Alcudia Hotel (not to be confused with the Sol de Alcudia Apartments next door, and the Sol De Alcudia Center across the road) in the middle of June for ten nights. We got a fantastic price from YouTravel - £374 for us both.
The hotel is very clean, and the staff are friendly and helpful. The best thing about this hotel is definitely its fantastic location - it is surrounded by bars and restaurants and a 5 minute stroll takes you to the beach. And what a beach! It is the best beach I have ever seen, the sea is so clear, shallow and warm, and it stretches for miles.
However, there are a few niggles. The rooms are very small, and it is the noisiest hotel I have ever stayed in. You could clearly hear people's conversations in the room next to you, even if they weren't speaking loudly. It was also very annoying to hear the maids every morning moving tables and chairs about - this didn't bother me too much because I like to be up early on holiday but my boyfriend likes a lie in and this was impossible with all the noise. Also, we had a problem with our shower, which would suddenly turn boiling hot for no reason - not good when you've been out in the hot Mallorcan sunshine all day!
The view from our balcony was excellent, though - looking over the swimming pool, the lake and the mountains. I would recommend requesting a pool view; I asked for a pool view on a high floor and that is exactly what we got.
Swimming pool was nice, quite spacious but we never used it because of the amazing beach.
We were staying bed and breakfast but I only went for breakfast once, and I wasn't impressed. The food was buffet style and looked like it had been sat out for ages, it all seemed very canteen-ish, with not a lot of choice. That didn't really bother us though, the hotel price was so cheap and we prefer to eat out in the resort anyway.
If you like to spend a lot of time in your hotel when you're on holiday, then I would suggest staying somewhere else. If, however, you want a clean, value for money hotel in a central location that you can use mainly as a base, then I would definitely recommend the Sol De Alcudia Hotel.

| said: Having booked this hotel via Fleetway travel - I found it very difficult to obtain a clear idea of which hotel the various web based hotel review sites refer to. To clear up any confusion here, this hotel is the "Sol de Alcudia" and should not be confused with the "Aparthotel Sol Alcudia" - which is next door and is a self catering apartment complex. In addition, there is the "Sol Alcudia Centre" hotel across the road. Either way, when we arrived, we were pleasantly surprised by the standards and facilities of the hotel. Any concerns I had prior to arriving did not materialize and I wouldn't hesitate in recommending this hotel to other people intending to visit Alcudia. (Note that we had booked 2 rooms - One for my wife and myself and one for my two teenage sons, aged 16 and 14 - which was an arrangement that worked out well)
I found the hotel to be very clean, the staff helpful and the location was central to the bars and shops around the town. There is no childrens club or ever present "entertainer", constant music, or repeated invites to join in the water polo contest - which means that the time we spent by the pool was enjoyed in relative peace! There was never a problem finding 4 free sunbeds next to the pool. The food was more than adequate, although tended to follow the normal patterns of mass hotel catering at times - but there was always plenty of choice and no member of my famiy were left hungry. Well worthy of the 3 star hotel rating and overall a good value for money holiday.

Staff were the pits, quite rude to the English.
Food poor, bacon very rare, wait long time for food coming out. Bacon some days was grilled ham. You have to share dining tables no tables for two.
Room basic if you go take some cif bathroom cleaner with you to use before you get in the bath etc its minging.
To some it all up the hotel sucks.

The hotel had a brilliant pool and sunbathing area which was nice and peaceful.
The food was okay but the major downside was the seating arrangements in the restaraunt, two rooms were assaigned to a table and if both rooms turned up at the same time you were expected to sit together, even if there were other tables spare.

| said: A run down, 70's built hotel in the middle of dull, shut down resort (due mainly to time of year I suspect).
Walls so thin that you can hear CLEARLY HEAR coversations, rows and fights, people using and flushing the toilets, snoring, moaning and groaning/sqeaking beds in adjoining apartments, and those above and below. Great fun for insomniacs but if you actually want sleep during your holiday, STAY SOMEWHERE ELSE.
No rep on coach there or on way back.
For the same money there are much nicer hotels in much nicer resorts to be found out there.
This area is OK if you like Bingo, Karaoke, tacky cabaret and British style 'boozers', Burger King, Pizza Hut, KFC and cafes that sell British food or meals where everything is served with chips.
Not bad beach close by, but NOTHING to do in the area if the sun isn't out except sit in a bar and watch British TV.
Local old town of Alcudia is very nice, historic and interesting with Roman Ruins, 15th Century city walls, a twice weekly market and big, normal priced supermarket. It is a bit of a walk but well worth seeing.

| said: First time to Majorca and was not expecting too much but was extremely pleased with our "allocation on arrival" of this hotel and location. Very clean and large rooms, staff extremely friendly and keen to assist in any capacity. Had TWO questionaires to fill in whilst there for our two weeks stay which demonstrates their committment to making this hotel stay perfect. Hotel was five minutes from the massive beach which was also clean and tidy. Pool was beautful. Bar prices were expensive but did not expect it to be cheap anyway.

| said: Stayed in this hotel for two weeks had agreat time. The hotel was well kept and the rooms wee cleaned 5 times a week. The location was brilliant 5 minutes to the beach and there was plenty of resturants and bars around the hotel. If you have children then a visit to the peach pit is a must and also cheers. The kids entertainers were brilliant. The hotel entertainment varied from kids disco's followed by a show or bingo. The hotel staff were friendly. THere was a supermarket in the hotel. I have already booked again for next year. There could have been more sunbeds and the big pool did not cater for non swimmers as it was about 5ft, and the small pool was to shallow for bigger children.
