| said: Booked the holiday independently and rented an apartment direct from the owner - a very helpful person. We stayed on Orlando as we are looking to purchase our own holiday home and there are loads for sale on this complex. Thought we would check it out.
The apartment was refurbished, clean and well equipped - kettle, toaster etc. The owner pays for someone to clean and change towels. This was done twice during our stay of 10 nights.
The complex itself seems to be in some sort of transitional phase - from being used by lots of package companies to being privately owned. It seemed fairly quiet for the height of the holiday seasons - no problem with sunbeds, queing for drinks etc.
The pool bar was good value and the food they served was nice. The staff were very pleasant and cheerful. They tried to entertain people around the pool during the day but not many taking part.
There was a mix of families and younger groups and nationalities with a lot of spanish people staying there.
The bar in the evening was open but only ever saw about 3-4 people using it and there was not entertainment. This isnt a problem as the location of the complex is brilliant - 5 min walk to Fanabe/Puerto Colon and all the bars and restaurants.
The swimming pool is fairly large with two smaller ones and was never overcrowded, although it has seen better days and I would think they will need to repair a lot of the tiles soon.
The complex itself is kept very clean and tidy.
All in all this was a good value break for our family as it worked out very cheap to book the flights ourselves and rent direct. I would stay on this complex again in the same circumstances, although we have decided not to buy on it.

Bad all rounder....cleanliness bad cleaned 2 times a week.
Location okay not far from the bars and shops make sure you go to the Wigan Pier (exellent).
Staff grumpy,,entertainment not bad always showing a show but at the end of the night the entertaiment really starts. Saw 3 fights in a week and 1 guy getting glassed in the face, too many young ones.
Couldn't go swimming pool at minus 10.....give this place a miss even though you get it cheap.

Yes it's basic but for the cheap prices I know that people were paying what more can you expect!
The pool is not heated but its also not running and is not too cold! I used to go for a swim everymorning!
The apartments are clean and the 24 hour english speaking staff and 24 hour security are very pleasant and always willing to help!
I dont understand the poor reviews on this site as I chose to live there! There are plenty of bars around and the beach is only a short walk away!
If I ever move back to Tenerife I would certainly live in the Orlando apartments again!

| said: Stayed in Orlando Apartments, never again. We must have got the worst apartment, it was disgusting.
Having been there for five nights, still no clean towels, after having left them on the bathroom floor for the cleaners to take a hint but it did't work.
We landed upgrading ourselves at a hefty cost. After 11.00pm at night, in the bar area, plastic tumblers were issued in case there was any trouble, that tells you all.

Great entertainment for kids and adults shows, happy hour £1.20 a pint not bad. Only thing we didnt like was the pool was always freezing. Never ventured in ,young ones always came out blue!
Beware the timeshare louts are out in force, very bad this year stopped all the time every 50 yards.

| said: Stayed in the Orlando apts from the 29th Dec 2005. Having read all the negative comments, I was really worried about taking my family. However, had a great holiday.
Thought the location of the accommodation was excellent.
Our rooms were cleaned twice whilst we were their. Did have to ask for the towels to be changed but replaced immediately.
Our apts were in block 6 403 and 404. Excellent recently refurbished. When we arrived apt looked fantastic smelt clean was basic but excellent value for money. Maid had created swan's from the towels and left them in the bathroom and bedroom. Lovely touches.
Didn't use the pool bar or viewed the entertainment, but I think thats a very individual thing. Their's lots to do in Tenerife entertainment for everyone to suit all tastes.
I recommend the Aqua Park, if you ask when you arrive so many children can be part of the dolphin show. It costs £50 euros but well worth it. You sit in the VIP area of the show and then spend about an hour with the dolphins. My daughter was 7 at the time loved it. 2 adults can accompany any each child. She was given 4 photos to take home. Well worth the £35.00.
Also loved the beach at Puerto Colon near marina. Some great restaurants loved the Jungle Bar.
Fireworks along the beach at Puerto Colon at Midnight on New Years Eve were excellent.
Have booked for same time next year....

| said: We had room 401 on the fourth floor of block 1, on an outer flank partly inaccessible by lift. It was quite a steep climb up 65 steps! The noise from the motorway was ever present and quite noticeable. The room was spotlessly clean, but cooking facilities somewhat limited by lack of oven, grill or microwave. The apartment was a single room for four persons with no separate bedroom, so a little cramped but probably as expected for the price. The outside light repeatedly going on and off shone brightly through the window over the door created a nuisance when trying to get to sleep as the light was directly in line. We resolved this by pinning a towel over the window.
The hotel swimming pool was cold, temperature measured between 19.5C and 21C during the two weeks over Christmas and New Year. You had to move quickly and not stay in too long to avoid hypothermia. The sea was warmer at 22C. We didn't make much use of the entertainment, but the magic show on New Year's eve was absolutely brilliant!
Hotel extremely hard to find by hire car due to road works and temporary closures/diversions. Here is the best way in from the airport:
‘Leave motorway at exit (salida) 29 signposted Parque Aquatico. Do not turn left over motorway bridge but go straight on uphill. Fork left after 100 metres. Upon reaching the windmill turn right to take a twisting road that goes right round the perimeter of the Aquapark water park. After about a kilometre or so, reach and stop at a complex junction with very confusing priorities. Then proceed forward carefully over the junction, bear right and downhill slightly to take you onto a service road running parallel to the motorway. Merge into the left lane. (The Orlando Apartments become visible at this point directly opposite on the other side of the motorway). Upon reaching the T junction, turn left over motorway. Go downhill to reach a large roundabout, where there may be lengthy delays as you have to give way to a constant stream of traffic entering from the right that has priority. Go straight on, then the road curves round to the left. You will reach a taxi rank and travel shop on the right. Go past these 25 metres or so and come to a temporary mini roundabout. Signs will show the road to be closed ahead. Turn left at the roundabout and go uphill past restaurants on the left to reach Orlando.’
Hotel parking sometimes difficult.

Then there was the fight for sunbeds at 8 when they were unchained, also there was quite a few people had money etc stolen from their rooms, quite off putting to say the least.
However , we went back last month ,they had been refurbed, were spotless clean and really quiet, an excellent holiday.
Would not recommend going in the summer when our own english yobs are there.

| said: Our hotel was great and lovely staff, the only problem was the Spanish at night, playing music during the night it stops at about 12am and then started again at 6 am. We had Spanish people up above us and they were doing DIY at 11pm, the security guards did not do anything when it was the Spanish but when it was the English causing trouble they were straight there.
Our rep Mark was a great help with this and when three of our party had cut their feet in the pool, where tiles had fallen off and it was rough on the ground and my sister might need to have stitches cause of the pool. They do not have a first aider on site.
I do not recommend that you go to this apartment and it is not actually in Playa da las Americas, it is in Playa Torviscas.
They are selling off apartments to the Spanish which you have to be quiet after 10pm.
They do not have any restaurant, the entertainment was just starting up again the day we left.
You have to walk for ages to get to some good restaurant.

We found the first week good but the second week wasn't as nice as there was lots of Spanish children in the pool who were hitting and splashing other children which caused families to argue and people to move as there belongings were getting wet.
I think the Spanish children were visiting family in the resort and did not need to behave that way. The security guard was useless as various families informed him about the children causing havoc in the pool but he never did nothing about it.
I would not stay there again.

| said: This is the 3rd time I have returned to the Orlando apartments over the past 4 years. But it will be the last !
Basic accommodation but contrary to what everyone else has said, it was clean and no cockroaches. I loved the location and the pool's which is rare for s/c 2 star accomodation.
In the past, it was always very family orientated, no 18-30's and peacefull. Not this time. It was over-run with loud, drunken yobs coming in at all hours - from midnight to 6am !
Loud music was also played throughout the night and early hours which was horrendous. On three occasions my partner and I had to get up between 2-4am to confront the offenders. Security was useless. They just did'nt seem to care or were itimidated by the offenders. The cliental this place attracts are british low lifes. I was ashamed.
There used to be a really good cabaret night but that has been abolished. In it's place is a bar area which is just a late night drinking hole for all the hooligans.
The pool bar plays loud techno, rave muisc with the most vile lyrics - no censorship. Absolutely unacceptable for families and young children. I complained about this but nothing was done. In my opinion, do not go there if you are holidaying as a family with young children. If you are 18-30 who wants to get slaughtered every night, have the odd fight or bust up, with loud music that keeps you up all night and want to meet like minded people, then this is the perfect place to be.

| said: When we first heard about our hotel before going, to be honest, we were terrified about what the place would be like. Truth be told, it is an ideal place for people like us (the 18-30 crowd).
This is definitely not a hotel for families because the place is packed with loud young people. Not only that but also if you have a pushchair, good luck with the hills and the stairs, unless your prepared for a strenuous trek.
The location is good - close to the beach and lots of lovely restaurants. The heart of the clubbing scene (Veronicas) is about a 6 euro taxi fare away so there's not much noise. The only noise you'll hear will be the sound of the drunken lot coming back at 4 -5am.
If you like a bit of scandal and hotel gossip, this is the place to be. On our holiday a gang of lads didn't even make it to their 3rd day after a night of brawling. They got thrown out the next day.
The receptionists were lovely, very helpful. Our rep with First Choice served his purpose and was of no more importance. Security guards were frisky, enjoyed female company and if anything were to happen they had no option but to phone the police. They couldn't do anything themselves.
The maids didn't look suspicious, we don't think anything was taken. The barmen were easy on the eye and were generous with their measures.
When we did go into the bar we soon left. It was child's play - karoke was for kids, the entertainer guy was for the kids. There was much to offer for us then again we didn't bother hanging around for much.

Ended up moving to the Noelia Sur down in Las Americas. we were allocated a studio apartment, bathroom was disgusting and only enough hot water for one person to shower/bathe.
Beds were awful, one child had to sleep approx 6 inches off floor and when I found the "la cuccarachas", enough was enough.
Husband was asked to leave bar because a spanish man started ranting and raving about "stupid eenglish". First Choice rep was absolutely useless and had a couldn't give a damn attitude.
We ended up moving by ourselves, to a vastly superior accommodation. Would not stay in these apartments even if you paid me!

All I can say is , if the people who thought they were of a good standard and clean must have very low standards and hygeine levels at home and if these are an improvement then please do not open up a hotel from your home or you will end up on here too . THE PLACE IS A FILTY DUMP . And should be shut down

| said: we 'tried' to stay at this hotel at the end of November 2004 for 1 week. However on arrival we reliased what a mistake this was. We weren't in our room, which I might add had a nice view of a motorway, for less then 5 mins before the First Choice rep was up looking at the state of the room. The balcony railings were falling off the wall, the fridge was broke, as were the beds and the tiles in the bathroom broken.
The pool was dirty and freezing cold.
We were told that we couldn't be moved to another room as the resort was full. So we were transfered to a new apartment called the Ocean Beach, at a cost of £150!
However it was well worth it and was in a prime location, with an amazing view looking over the sea from our terrace.
I must admit here that our first choice rep was more than helpful.
We were also informed at this new hotel that they had a lot of people leave Orlando to go there, we even meet another family who had a London flight the same day as us who were in the same situation.
Upon returning home we found that the Orlando apartments, Playa de las Americas, was on the ITV show, Holidays from Hell, and people complained of the same things that we did. They also said that this resort was filled with 18-30's in the summer season and families in the 'winter' which apperntly explains the destruction of the apartments.

| said: When we arrived at the hotel all seemed well, reception staff seemed fine, we sort of got the rooms we'd asked for a (sea view). After checking-in we attempted the Ben Nevis mountain to get to our room, which was basic but clean!!
After a couple of days with no entertainment at all, especially with having three kids to entertain, we asked the reception why this was as the tavel agent had said it was on every night, they said "the entertainments manager had run of with all the cash so he has been sacked!" well this turned out to be a trend throughout the hotel, we had over £400 stolen by the cleaners from our SAFETY deposit box, how you ask, well they came in at 9.20am stole the key from my wallet, came back at 2.30pm after we'd left the room,by the way this was on a day they were not supposed to be cleaning and there day off, the reception staff were no help with this at all.
Thank god for the reps, they were very nice and very helpfull, also the main bar staff, were very arrogent and fighting with the gust's on at least 4 occasions that i saw myself!! STAY CLEAR not at all a place you want to spend a small fortune going too!!!!!!!

Nice pool area-especially when it was happy hour at the bar (80p a pint of lager)
Lovely, friendly staff, towels changed and rooms cleaned regularly.
Our bedroom overlooked the pool and we had a large balcony at the back too.
Near to a nice beach, and pubs and restaurants and only a cheep taxi ride away from Veronicas and the Patch. (About 5 euros)
I would definitely go back and stay in the Orlando apartments again and again.

| said: We were booked into the Orlando apartments for two weeks from 24th Sept to 8th Oct 2004 and there were 21 of the family there including kids. We had read a few comments from people who already stayed in the Orlando which were mostly negative and once arriving we knew why.
We booked into the apartments thinking we would have a poolside view which we asked for but were thrown to the back of the apartments facing a motorway of some sort as well as the Sky Park I may add. There were ants running all over the kitchen area and the cockroaches were causing problems also. The towels were not changed on a regular basis nor were the buckets. The lighting in the corridors was not operating properly so you had to feel your way to your apartments in the dark with young kids.
The Orlando should not have the rating it has as the apartments are very poor and the staff or not friendly or helpful when you reported a fault.

| said: Upon Arrival a member of our party spotted that the bathroom door was broken. This was mentioned to our rep Sarah at the welcome meeting who told us not to worry as this had probably already been reported. Two days later a note was pushed under the door of the room asking that they go to reception. When they arrived at Reception, we were informed that the door had been damaged after arrival and the cleaners had reported it. We waited to see Sarah the rep who could remember every other part of our party’s conversation but not this. When we informed her that we had witnesses (ie. our full party) she insisted this made no difference as we would all stick together (ie we would all lie. In the end we were charged 120 euros (and informed if this was not paid the whole of the party would be removed from the hotel). Two days later when one of the children was walking through the automatic doors her finger became stuck, after a trip to hospital and the dislocated finger re-set in the early hours of the morning, Sarah again was spoke to upon entry to the hotel. We were told the child must have been messing, (not the case whatsoever) it was impossible and we had obviously hurt the child in retaliation to them making us pay 120 euros for the damage to the bathroom door.
Anyone visiting the hotel must check for any damage and immediately report it to the reception and the rep - Make sure they write it down.
All in all the pools were spotless and the rooms spotless though the towels left a lot to be desired.
Although not examined by a doctor I appeared to have bites all around my ankle every time I awoke in the morning (possibly bed mites).
We will certainly be going to Tenerife again but certainly not to the Orlando apartments.

Orlando is good for all ages, and the entertainment is very good, especially by the pool during the day.
The maids came nearly everyday so our room was spotless; until we messed it up again, the staff were very friendly and helpful

| said: Orlando Appts were absolutely superb value for money and a pleasant surprise on arrival!
Myself and 18 others were in the Orlando for a week long stag do. Rooms were big, clean, had nice balconies, pay TV (cheap - check out Channel 10), decent cooking facilities/fridge etc. Absolutely no worries!! Bathroom smelt pretty bad for the first few days but nothing that a bottle of bleach didn't fix (it's fair to say that the cleaners should have thought of this) ... Don't think I've ever even considered buying a cleaning product on a lads stag do before!!
Rooms were cleaned 3 or 4 times during the week. Broken items were fixed almost instantly (and we didn't lose any deposit :o).
People in balconies overlooking the main pool area and facing other flats got a rollocking if they raised their voices above a whisper at night. On the other hand we were outwards facing and could make plenty of noise without bothering too many people. Just as well.
Nearest beach is cool (10-15 mins walk) with good restaurants close by. Definitely at the better end of the resort. Taxi to the main resort bars (Veronica's etc) = 5 euro.
Pool = okay, pretty busy, some boobs (woohoo).
Food and bar = average.
Staff = efficient and helpful.
Holiday = Excellent

| said: We went there on the 14th-29th August. As the other reports say you get what you pay for we wasnt expecting luxury either a couple of months before we went we decided to look up on the net some comments and they were all incredibly bad.
When we arrived there we was expecting a total hell hole but we actually arrived in a very nice accomodation most of the apartments were being refurbished and decorated. It wasnt that noisy for those who say it was we was right next to the section that was being done.
The bathroom door was broken which made it very un private when you wanted to use it. It was an ideal place about 10-15 minute walk from the beach and bout 5-10 minutes from the first load of main shops.
Of course your going to see the odd cockcroach its spain a cockcroach there is an ant here ok fine if ya had them evrywhere but we didnt find any problems with them.
We found it increcidbly funny when at 8 o clock people would get up and rush down to the pool and hold onto the chain to the sunbeds whent they were put away from the night. The thing is the pool opened at 10 am and when they were un chained they would all get there sunbeds put towels on them then go.
Orlando appartments you need to get more sunbeds!!!
After coming home from dinner at a nice restaurant we thought we would go for a nice drink in the bar area of the hotel standing there for over half an hour we were blantently ignored by the bar staff on purpose as they served everyone else apart from us and we were annoyed with that.
Thats it really the motorway and the sky park were noisy i must admit cos we walked along that road as we got lost on the way bk from veronicas. The hotel was lovley apart from that ,we had a lovley view wether was wonderful and the staff were ok.
I would recommend going there if you are looking for a basic and livley holiday accommodation.

| said: Originally booked a two week holiday. We could not stay in this dump and returned home after two days here. Major cockroach problem. On the first night we encountered several in our room, including the bed.
My daughter was terrified. The staff were no assistance and the impression we received was that if you stay there you should expect to share your accommodation with the cockroaches. We were told that they would try to move us to another room but each morning when we asked we were told that all the apartments were occupied.
The Thomas cook reps were not interested in the roach problem but were keen to sign us up for any excursions. Thomas cook are denying any fault and I am out of pocket for the holiday which we did not have and also the flights home which we had to arrange ourselves.
The rooms do not have air conditioning and it is like trying to sleep in a bakery. If they provided a/c the cockroaches would probably not thrive here.
Avoid this resort and avoid Thomas cook is my advice.
Don't just book it, chose a different tour operator.

Air cond should be added to all appts. Pools were clean,as was poolside areas. Entertainment was poor and very loud, as was the complex at night. Staff were friendly and helpful.
Complex was not in a very nice area, but we all throught the resort was a bit unkept.
This is not a complex for families more for young adults who go for the late nights.
Would visit Tenerife again but not Playa De Las Americas

| said: We have just returned from a weeks 'holiday' in the Orlando apartments. It was total hell. We were on the 6th floor overlooking the motorway and sky park. The noise from the motorway was horendous,as was the noise from the repairs that were being carried out. It was a competiton between the motorway, drill and hammer.
The apartments were dirty and there was a big hole in the wooden floor beside the fridge. The handles on the 'fitted wardrobes' fell off if you tried to open them and the skirting boards were rotten. The cockroaches were friendly waiting to greet you every night when you had to come back, as were the ants. The childrens pool was full of plastic bottles and the poolside bar area was filthy, blood etc on the ground. The walk from the reception to the room was a nightmare, very steep and when you got to the lifts they were not what you would call clean, with graffi on the doors, and some melted cheese that had been there for at least three days. All in all you could call it the holiday from hell, but that somehow still does not sum up how much of a tip this place was. Take my advise and do not go there!

| said: This hotel is wicked! We didn’t actually come to stay at this hotel, but after meeting a group of lads I and my mate spent everyday up there!
They were on the top floor, and we weren’t great fans of stairs, especially when drunk, but I think it helped to sober most of the boys up!
The hotel was great in cleanliness from what we saw, had no complaints! Although you can't really expect any sane maid to clean a group of 8 lads room, what with the shaving foam crusted on the door and mirror! They had 2 rooms, which was even worse for the poor maids!
The location was easy! We actually got lost and walked for 2 and a half hours trying to find it the first time we went which was the boys first night, we eventually ended up round the back of the hotel and had to climb round the side over a load of rocks etc, so that was fun, but once we found it we thought the location was great!
The entertainment was good too, the entertainer man was funny, and if you ever want to go to a great bar near these apartments go to the bee hive, just round the corner! It’s wicked!

| said: Where do I start? The plane didn't have radio or TV facilities which worked either inward or outward journey.
The apartment, if in England, would have needed pulling down it was appauling. Plaster was falling off wall in bedroom. Holes in the ceiling filled with plastic bags. Fridge which had a mind of its own when hot, defrosted at night. Loud humming. Great chunks out of the bath. Tiles broken all through apartment. Staff didn't understand us.
Shop open but refused to serve me alcohol although I'm nearly 31. Three days to change a light bulb in hall. Ten days to change a fridge which constantly defrosted. Blood all around the pool, laid there for about 9 days no one would clear it up. Broken steps into reception.
Entertainment for the kids was non exsistant. Doors to the apartment didn't lock properly. The safe could be opened by any car lock key. Patio chairs were broken. You couldn't sign on to the internet because the computers didn't work. You couldn't sleep at night for noise and fighting people splashing in the pool at all hours. Rowdy youths - noisy throughout holidays.
We had a fortnight of complete hell and after going there two years ago we thought that the place should be cleaner and less roudier but obviously we were wrong. In my opinion don't go there if you expect clean linen or have any problems as the staff are not bothered, the maids dont understand you and the reps are used as slaves.
The maintenance people invade your room at any hour of the day even 8am. The beds were falling to bits as were the sofas, the chairs were nailed together. Cupboard doors don't shut, cutlery is missing as were plates, dishes etc. All crokery needed replacing was dirty and ready for the bin. Toasters were hired out but didn't work. The kettle took ages to boil and there was only enough hot water for one person to wash. The patio was swarmed with cockroaches.
Every night rubbish was thrown in the pool by yobs. Kids were left loose to cause havoc.
Count me in for going somewhere else this year because the Orlando is the pits.

| said: My family stayed at the Orlando last july for 2wks. I must say our first appartment we were given was disgusting it was right at the top of the complex facing the skypark.
When we booked the holiday we had ask for poolside, the next morning there were ants running everywhere.
My husband went to reception to be greeted by loads of holidaymakers who had not even unpacked and were not staying. The sunset reps had their hands full. After 2 hours we spoke to a rep who originally told us ours was basic accomadation i told him our sofabed was in tatters there was only 3 dining chairs 3 lots of cutlery etc we were a family of 5.
Again after another 2 hours they gave us 2 one bed app which was on the main thoroughfare of the lift.
One of the app must have been privately owned next door was basic but alot better than our 1st one.
Our holiday began. the kids never wanted to go off site they joined in with every activity from noon til midnight.
I wasnt too pleased when a cockroach crawled over my leg at 4.00am whilst i was sleeping. Again my husband went too see the reps & they sent staff up to spray the app.
We quickly learnt to put towels along the doors when we went out.
The next wk & 1/2 was brilliant. We flew home on the friday & on the sat morn we booked to go back this yr in July again we have booked poolside. This year there are 12 of us going + another 5 friends staying up the road.
A holiday is what you make it after the 1st few bad days we just chose to enjoy ourselves. I agree Orlando do need to maintain the app alot better inc cockroaches but the entertainment overides all the little unpleasent bits.
We stayed 3 yrs ago in critianos lovely town but complex was quiet. No doubt we will be booking to go again next year.

The staff were very helpful and friendly.
The rooms were basic but still very clean, we had fresh towels when ever we needed them.
The pool side bar was fantastic, the food and drinks that were served were of high quality and very cheap.
The facilities such as the three swimming pools and the tennis court were excellent and there was always something to do.
The entertainment was mainly great but was sometimes boring.
The location of the apartments was better than I expected, we were very close to all the shops, the beach, the water park and the bars.
My view - go and stay at the Orlando it's class.

| said: I don't think I have ever had a worse hotel experience.
On arrival staff were rude but it was late at night and everyone was tired from travelling so thought it would be fine in the morning.
When we finally hiked up the hill, up a flight of stars, in the smelly lift and then down to another flight of stars we found two rooms full of cockroaches.
We all decided to stay in the one room with fewer cockroaches for the night and sort it out in the morning leaving our CD player, some magazines and a coat in the room.
We spoke to the hotel reception the next morning who agreed to fumigate our room but made no apology for their little friends. We went to the beach for the day in knowledge that the rooms would be fine when we returned. Oh no, when we got back we realised the maid or maintenance had stolen our CD player. I first thought they probably moved it to fumigate and asked reception who asked us to leave the query with them, three days later after speaking them twice a day and in the end the rep too, they still kept putting me off and we ended up having an almighty row.
The staff are nothing but rude and they obviously have a problem with their staff thieving. I wouldn't go back again if someone paid me to.
Apartments were also dirty, the staircases were unlit, rooms were too hot and someone kept peeing in the lift so it smelt revolting.
Although the parrot show was good.

| said: Hi don't be to put off by all these reviews. At the end of the day your holiday is what you make it and you only sleep in your apartments.
Although I wouldn't advise taking children to the Orlando, due to large groups of 18-30's. They are clamping down on noise in the early hours. Orlando is a very basic apartment block but you get whay you pay for.
It is situated on the outskirts of Playa but taxis are cheap. For bars/clubs you are better off down at Veronicas strip. The best restaurant we all liked was Harleys an American type dinner/cocktail bar lovely food and very large portions.

There was a really nice breakfast place across the road which helps get rid of your everyday morning hangover from the night before. The location was excellent, just a taxi away from veronicas strip which is where all the clubs and bars are.
The reps were really friendly and helpful and help organise trips to go on, e.g booze cruise and bar crawl which are both excellent. I would especiallt recomend the bar crawl on one of your first nights because they show you where all the bars and clubs are.

| said: The Orlando is in the pefect location because its right next to the market where you can buy almost anything for really cheap prices, such as jewelry, clothes, ornaments etc... Also the Orlando is close to the Skypark which is really good for kids. It has water slides and bungy jumps etc...Also The Orlando is next to a shopping center with many shops. The main street wich is just metres away is full of bars and resturants. The only thing that the Orlando has wrong with its location is that you have to walk a far way to get to the beach.
The Orlando pools are excelent and clean. There are 3 pools, a small one and a large one. The pool bar area has nice food but the area isn't very clean.
The best part of the Orlando was the entertainment that the reps and hotel staff provided. Every day there was somthing to do. You could never get bored. Activities such as vollyball, football, tennis, etc... Also every morning there would be a fun quiz at the poo area where prizes could be won. The entertainment at night could have been better for the adults but the kids had lots to do such as disco, karoke, and party games. The hypnotyst show was extremly funny.
Overall we enjoyed our Holiday and hopefully will be returning in the future.

Other Hoilday people were friendly and there was never any trouble. The nightlife was great. Would go back again if i had the chance. They have a bbq during the week and there is a poolside bar which is good value. There is loads for Children. Vornic Strip was discusting. Loads of Places to visit. The aquapark was close by and children would love it. If i have the chance to go again and will look to go again in the future.

There was a lot of swearing and fighting between scottish couples. we could not get sleep for hours due to the argument that they were having. They smashed their room up, and threw chairs out of their apartment. we were appaled as we had a young baby with us who was awoken by the loud noise due to it being right below us.
This didn't just happen on the one occasion. it happened on several. We were also disgusted to the amount of cockroaches that we saw around the paths of the hotel and near the pool. I would extremly recomend the Orlando to do somthing about the amount of violence that happens when people return from pubs and bars as to us it was a "Holiday from Hell"

Traffic noise from the main tenerife motorway if you get one of the apartment blocks up the many stairs (50 \ 50 chance?). No poolside facing apartment as promised. Cockroaches included in price. Apartment grubby with 20 year old MFI units. Attempted to boil kettle once but got p*ssed of after 10 minutes as I couldn't even light a cigarette of the ring. kettle came from the Victorian age. Very grubby. Shower was not sealed. Staff were not the friendliest I've come accross. Pool area superb as were the main facilities. 100 yards from a host of British Pubs (recommend especially Bobbins and the Wigan Pier) which served tennents and Fosters on tap. Good food also. 10 minutes walk from the Waterpark. Adequate for a week but we spent as much time as possible out of our apartments.

The place was flithy!! The staff were rude and didn't want to no anything, as we checked in at the Orlando everything seemed ok but as we went near the pool side I was shocked to see the floors flithly, broken bottles ect...
As we entered our room I couldn't believe my eyes there were ants all by the frigde, walls were rotten and there was cockroches in the bathroom and under the beds!!!
We become friends with the people who were next to us and there room was worse than mine, the one woman had a massive cockroach crawl over her face during the night my daughter was scared to death!!!
We asked for clean towels (as we did not have any) the ladie said to me at the recption you don't have clean towels unless you are here for too weeks!!!
We couldn't take no more I had complain to a JMC rep about the problems we were having they didn't want to know all they gave use was some cockroach spray and didn't do anything as they were everywhere in our room!!!
The location wasn't to bad apart from the noisy motoway!!easy to get to the shops and markets.
On our 3rd night at the Orlando a young girl was claimed to be attacked on the resort!!! I wouldn't let my children go anywhere on there own after that around the resort!!!
I would never go to the Orlando ever again it should be closed down unless people want to pay loads of money to stay in a dump!!!

The staff were great and very pleasant to talk to.
There was a bar, a poolside bar, entertainment at night and entertainment at day. Although it wasn't great it was ok.
We had a poolside apartment which was handy if we needed to get something whilst round the pool.
There are two pools. One very peaceful and quiet and the other quite noisy.
We did have a few problems at the beginning of the holiday. Our cooker wouldn't work and our light blew. But the technicions were there in around 5 minutes. They were quite easy to talk to and spoke fluent English.
There were quite a few cats roaming about but were very friendly.
The holiday was great and we would go there again without a doubt.

The maids were always freindly. Can't really comment much on the entertainment and food as we went out most of the time. There was no roudiness at night (and if there was we didn't hear it) this was good for us as we had a 12month old baby with us. We also didn't see any creepy crawlies. Overall it was clean with a good atmosphere centrally located and good value for money, anybody with higher expectations should dig a little deeper in their pockets as the old saying goes you only get what you pay for. And I would recommend these apartments to family and freinds as i will definately be going again.

| said: Hi there,
This is Emma and Caroline and we stayed in the Orlando apartments for two weeks over christmas.
The hotel was clean and we saw no cockroaches!
The pool was good and there was enough deckchairs to sit on! The pool was a little cold but was fun. The entertainment in the resort was really good as it was different every night (recommend the Nuns of Doom). Through the day there was different activities and games e.g water polo. Very good for the kids!
There is a barbeque every thursday which is lovely and we would definetely recommend it. The apartments are about 5-10 mins walk from the beach and there is a supermarket right outside the apartments. The balcony is a good size and you can sit there all day as most of the rooms are facing the 2 pools!
Staff are very helpfull and at night the music cannot be heard so if you need an early night then we gaurantee you'll get it.
Pool tables are very good as there are 4-5 of them and are only €1.
The bad points are only that the pool is a little slippy and sometimes cold and that we would not recommend this to people that have walking disabilities as there are no lifts and you may be high up!

| said: We went here in October and the weather was beautiful.
The hotel was what you expect for a 2 star hotel. WE were over looking the pool area and it was quite noisy at night, we went with our 2 year old and I was pregnant at the time so was quite tired but we still managed to fall asleep even though it was very noisy.
Hotel staff were ok, bar was average nothing special. One thing is that the pool area is very slippy and I went flying, very dangerous tiled floor they should change this.
Saw no cockroaches, ants or any nasties other than a few mozzies which insisted on bitting me in the night, ouch!
Bedrooms are very hot as they don't have a window, well ours didn't anyway.
Happy holidays. Honestly it really is a clean place and good if you just want basic accomodation.

Reps no help at all, treat us with no respect and ask for 600 euros for a better hotel!
This place is disgusting and run down, stay at your peril!

| said: ok, so three girls on a tiny budget lookin for a laugh near all the nightlife and hot weather. we found all this at the orlando. hot sun, close to the veronicas (reccommend bobby's and busby's for all you bling blingers out there!) and above all the entire holiday was cheap. The hotel was not the cleanest i have ever seen but better than most 2* resorts, and to be honest, the majority of our time wasnt spent in the room anyway! gorgeous beaches and wicked nightlife, a quality holiday overall.

| said: I am going to set the story straight about this hotel because from the current reviews it's a bit confusing because of the very mixed feelings.
This hotel is absolutly great if:
1) You are young, on a lads or girls holiday (ages 17-25) looking for a room only basis.
2) If you are on the 2nd floor or higher because then they have no cockroaches and are usually cleaner.
3) If you look elsewhere for your food and nightlife which is only 5 mins in a taxi to Veronicas and the local restaurants offer quality food at low prices.
4) It's near the beach and the water park and has great veiws of the sea from higher floors.
This hotel is not for you if you are:
1) Families
2) Looking for hotel entertainment
3) Wanting to sleep well between 11pm and 3am but as mentioned above the 18-30's don't have to worry about that because they should be out at that time. (Like I was)
4) Want to be able to let your kids have freedom to roam because there are some dangerous steps and cats about the complex.
But outside that ,to summarise the above, if you are young on 18-30 without spending a lot of money and want to be close to the nightlife and beach and water park and don't care apart from somewhere to sleep and shower and put your stuff, then this is the place for you and if you are a family stay away!!!!!!

| said: The location of these apartments are great ten min top to beach.
Maid service was regular, apartments were clean.
On the other hand, the lift never seemed to work, and the staff weren't the most helpful. We'd given the key to reception to look after while we went out one night and he thought he'd lost it took him ages to find, why wasn't it in the right place?
I also recommend you get air conditioning as a cockroach crawled into our open window one night.
Apart from that the hotel is great for families on a budget x
