Hotel is in good state of repair. Clean common areas. Bathrooms and bedrooms kept very clean. The staff could not be more helpful. Breakfast was a feast!! The pool area was lovely. For a bit of luxury try the Chill out pool on the 4th floor. 15 eur per person. Pampered by the staff, with towels, dressing robs, slippers. Complimentary papers, drinks, cocktails and snacks. Peace and quiet for adults only. Great views. A lovely pool almost to yourself.
The rooms are a little on the small side, but the hotel makes up for this in all other aspects.
After a disappointing stay at the RIU Adeje Apartments we checked out and booked in somewhere we knew would up to scratch and was not disappointed. Would certainly stay again on our next visit.

| said: We have just returned from a very enjoyable week at this hotel. The public areas in the hotel were clean and spacious with good decor. The bedroom itself was slightly small but kept very clean with a good sized balcony. We found the staff courtious and helpful and the service in the bars excellent. Breakfast was reasonable with large selection of hot and cold buffet although perhaps the canarians have not quite mastered the english breakfast! The pool area was vast with spacious sun-lounging areas although the water in the pool was quite cool. All in all a great holiday and we will be going to this hotel again next year.

Then they closed Cleopatra pool, causing even more havoc.wrecked the enjoyment of the hotel. Rooms are in the process of upgrading, started on sixth floor working down, manager allowed viewing of new room, made the others look like somewhere to store your cases.Leave it 6 months and then use this hotel, it will be back to how it was a few years ago.
We travelled with Thomas Cook, they emailed us the day before departure informing us of work being carried out, offered no alternative. We booked and paid for this holiday November 2006. Work on hotel commenced March 2007. We have complained !!!

Have stayed here on many occasions and have never been disappointed however on this occasion the hotel was undergoing re-tiling of the pool area which meant that sun beds were limited. Disappointed that we were not told of this work prior to arrival at reception. Constant noise from electric cutting tools and dumper trucks - real bliss. Being part of a complex, we were all able to use the accompanying hotels pool area. Hotel staff very apologetic. Hotel rooms need an overhaul, clean but tired looking. Believe it or not, would definitely return to this hotel.

| said: My husband and I have just returned for a week at the Mediterranean Palace. We had had a quick look at it last year and thought that it looked good. Our initial views were confirmed in some areas and not in others.
The room was comfortable and of quite a generous size. The furniture and fittings were a bit dated and tired but perfectly adequate. We loved the position of our room, at the back of the hotel overlooking a busy roundabout and so there was lots to see from the balcony as we had our pre dinner drink.
The room was cleaned every day - a bit perfunctory on occasion but again no real complaint.
Staff were friendly and service was speedy and efficient. We managed to disable the room safe and someone came quickly to sort it out.
One of the reasons we had chosen this hotel was the roof terrace which was advertised as being nude sunbathing. We were very disappointed when we arrived to be told that this had changed. Take note all you naturists! The terrace is now an adult only zone where you pay 15 euros a day to sunbathe. This includes a drink and a fruit salad. There is a small plunge pool which is brilliant for cooling off. It was a lovely relaxing space and numbers are restricted and so should not become too crowded.
In the evening it is open as a bar and again is a great relaxing place to spend time.
The main hotel pool is very large and access to the beach is very convenient.
We were half board and the breakfast was very good - a wide choice and everything well presented and hot.
Unfortunately we did not find the evening meals so good. I don't know if it was the size of the dining room - it is huge - or the presentation - but we did not enjoy any of our meals there.
The food was at best lukewarm and at times cold and the choice seemed to reflect the scale of the catering. It felt like school dinners.
There is a choice of restaurants but for all expect one there is a supplement to pay. The other one included in the half board was much better and we ate there after the second night. We usually go half board. We like the convenience and the fact that you don't have to search around for a restaurant but if we return to the Med Palace we will go B & B.

| said: My husband and I stayed for a week in the Med Palace as a anniversary treat (no kids !!)
On arrival our room was not ready but we were given free drinks and lunch in the bar and told to come back in two hours which we did and the room was ready. The rooms themselves were clean, if not a little dated (black furniture era!) but we did get a great pool view and a lovely maid who cleaned every day and did a good job of it with fresh toiletries and towels every day.
The food was fantastic! You could not fault the choice, something for everyone.
The mini bar was too pricy and we did point this out (because if you don't who will?) so we purchased our evening tipple for the balcony from local supermarkets which are plentiful.
The pool towels was a bonus, you get a card at reception and use these to get clean ones every day, and you can use the other pools within the complex if you fancy a change. For anyone who is thinking about indulging in the spa centre then believe me you will not be disapointed. My first massage was fab and very relaxing pure indulgence!.
We didn't use the rooftop terrace but reports were good but I think that it might be nude sunbathing so check it out with reception (to spare your blushes). The hotel had a hairdressers, gym and plenty of places to sit and read with good coffee bars and snacks to be had. The Hotel had excellent security, you simply can't just wander in from the beach the gate has a card system and at night the main doors are secured by staff (if your not on the list your not coming in!!) people just want a nosy but no card, no entrance!.
Overall the staff were helpful, reception can be a free for all though(are the Brits the only nation to queue?) so be prepared to stake your claim at the desk!!
The good news is overall the Hotel is great and we are going back with our kids in Sept this time in a suite with plunge pool because they looked fab!
Some will say not a five star more a 4 but it's the sheer volume of ammenities that push this rating up and not the decor.

We elected for half board which cost us £28 per day when paid through our travel agent. Cost on arrival would have been 30 euros!
Adult bar on the roof was superb
Reception staff were poor and never had enough euros to change any travellers cheques. There was no queueing system and it was very much first come first served-generally the British were last to be served

Food excellent, always hot many different choices at all meals however vegetarian options limited, lots of different fish available. Breakfast excellent something for everyone.
Staff all very friendly, as commented before many staff spoke little English but the hotel is not in England so it was to be expected, we had no problems, staff very courteous and always helpful.
Did not use entertainment but seemed to be different things happening throughout the day and evening. Only negative is that walls very thin, next door room had TV on until 0300 every day and it was like ours was on.
Pools always clean, used pool at Cleopatra as much quieter than med palace pool, however med palace pool looked great for children and younger people. the chill out area was lovely so relaxing with great views, lovely to sit on the roof on a comfy sofa with a drink.

| said: We stayed in the Med palace in August 2006. The main part of the hotel was clean, our room was cleaned daily but the floor's were not swept. It all depends what maid you had on your floor depended on how clean your room was.
Around the pool area could do with a good clean, ash and debris from the previous day could be found under sun-beds. You have to get up at 7am to be able to get sun-beds as after 7.30 they have all gone.
Hotel food (breakfast) was good, you can use the Cleopatra as well, the hotel coffee bar is also good but very limited.
The location is excellent, right in the centre for everything, but have a pool view as road side can be very noisy!!
The hotel staff are polite but many of them speak very little or no English, a lot of it is geared toward's the Spanish and German's.
The entertainment was very varied and enjoyable.
I would not stay in the Med Palace again but would stay in the Cleopatra. If there are 3 of you up-grade to a suite as a small room is tiny and they don't cater for three people we were constantly asking for a third towel and a pillow for my daughter.

We didn't pay 5* money however in our opinion the hotel isn't up to 5* rating. to reach the 5* rating I would say that the hotel needs a full refurb.
The food didn't seem to vary and there wasn't a children's menu so we found ourselves eating out most of the time.
The best part of the hotel has got to be the pool and surrounding areas as you would have to go along way to beat it.

| said: This hotel is absolutely fab. Only just got back and have already booked again to go in August.
The room is kept spotless with clean towels brought every day. We had a bottle of wine room service most nights before going out and found it to be very reasonably priced.
The staff are very helpful and the hotel is definitely suited to all ages.
The pool is great, never struggled to get a sunbed because its huge. Even inside the hotel there are water features. To buy a safe for the room it costs 10euro but is worth it I think.
Only got up for breakfast on the last morning because didn't get in till 6 some nights cus the nightlifes buzzing. When we did go we wished we had gone every morning, theres was such a good selection. Most days we eat around the pool. They had snacks like baguettes, toasties, chips etc.
All in all a great hol and I'd recommend it to anyone!

One or two little things could be improved on i.e. gents toilet mirror on ground floor cracked and taped full length about six feet, also stale smell in room toilets.
Usual con with safe and fridge nearly forty euros a week.
Bar prices a bit on the steep side would go back

We were not disappointed. Spent a week end of Jan to Feb and the weather was good, a few cloudy days but never below 17c at night.
Room was really spacious for 3 of us.
We went for B & B and I would say I'm glad we did. There are so many different places to eat - none of which are v.expensive that I'm glad we didn't tie ourselves in to eating in the hotel every night. I spoke to people who wished they hadn't gone half board as apparently evening meals were very hit and miss!
Would definitely return again.

I have been all around the world in a variety of hotels and this place is up there with the best of them.
It is the perfect place to go if you want luxury and class. It is just far enough outside the centre of las americas too! The development of shops, restaurants and fountains is amazing.
If you can try and get in one of the newer sides ie, Julius Ceaser palace! If you go you HAVE to visit the pyramid restaurant & visit the show!

We stayed on a bed and breakfast basis and found lots of really good value places to eat for our dinner. The breakfast here was very good with lots of choice.
As we have 2 children we found the children's clubs at the hotel excellent.
We never really stayed at the hotel much for the entertainment but caught it from our balcony when we returned each evening and it looked very good. Obviously, drinks etc at the hotel are very expensive compared to other bars around the resort.
The hotel is situated in a very nice part of Playa away from the loud night life. We will definitely be coming back here again!!!!

| said: We have been to Tenerife six times but this holiday was by far the best yet.
We were overwelmed by the view from our balcony but be aware as you do not get the sun direct on your balcony so you are best to use the pool area to top up your tan. There is no shortage of places to eat if you go bed and breakfast.
We visited a place called Jens Den. Being a fellow Scottish couple they treated us with a very friendly manner and we were happy to see they did the same for most visitors. They made room for a couple of wheelchair groups and made sure they were well situated for thier needs.
The beach areas around the hotel were great. The hotel was offering upgrades for only 20 euros per room as it was not any more than 60% full although when you compare their prices I found it hard to believe. It was definitely value for money.
We saw all the shows from our balcony. There are safe and fridge facilities available in your room at a cost of around 17 euros each per week. Shop around for trips and exchange rates and you will save a few pounds. Safari complex which is just across the road gives you duty free and cigerettes at the best prices and has a great chinese restaurant but it's best to book as it is very busy.
This hotel gives you access to everything and cannot be beaten.
I will be back very soon.

We stayed on a Bed & Breakfast basis and the choice at breakfast was extremely good. There was even things my two fussy children enjoyed.
We have been to Tenerife several times and this is an excellent location for families and couples.
There are plenty of bars and restaurants nearby and nightclubs are a short walk away.
The whole Mare Nostrum resort is accessible and we frequently used the pools of the other hotels which were quieter than the pool at the Mediterranean Palace.
Kids club was great for all ages with constant activities if the kids wanted to join in.
This hotel really caters for all types of customers without the forcefulness found in the usual family hotels.

We were very impressed with every aspect of the hotel.
The room was spotless and the bed was enormous. The pool area was pretty busy and although we had access to other hotels in the chain, decided to use the beach which was minutes away.
There was forever someone cleaning around the hotel and pool areas.
The breakfast was very good, offering food for everyone: - lots of fresh fruit, continental options (bread, meats, cheeses) yoghurts, cereals and for the larger appetite a cooked breakfast.
We didn't sample the evening meals as we ate out each night. Also we didn't see the evening entertainment, so cannot comment on that.

| said: Booked through an independant company via a travel agents and stopped at the Med. Palace for less than would have paid for an apartment through usual travel companies (through under occupancy). The hotel itself is immaculately clean, and you are able to use the facilities at the Julius Ceaser palace next door the pool there is far less crowded and we tended to use that one instead. The only pool you are not permitted to use is the one in the Sir Anthony, which to be honest is probably the smallest of them all!! There is an interesting little terrace by the name of the "Adam and Eve" on the fourth floor, this is the naturists area that we found, it is actually cooler up there and has a small pool within it, this tends to be frequented by european guests rather than the English!!, and can at times be entertaining...worth a look just out of curiousity!!
The complex has 12 restaurants, only one of these is including in the half board price to eat at any of the others incurs additional supplements. The breakfast was over all ok, but the evening meal was poor, the choice was limited (although there is a wider choice for fish lovers) and was usually lukewarm, the salad bar has to be one of the most boring I have ever seen!! Reminded me of what you would get put ontop of a donner kebab!! You have to time it well also as the restaurant is fairly small and there can be lengthy queues at peak times.
The room we has was a twin with a mountain view and was clean but rather small, the bathrooms were tiny. The towels, as you would expect were changed daily and the room cleaned daily also. The room has a safe in it, charged at reception and a mini bar...to use the mini bar you must on arrival, either, leave a credit card or pay a 60 euro per day deposit, as we did neither we had no access to it! although regardless of that someone called on a daily basis to check it, he couldnt quite grasp that we didnt have a key and therefore it would not need restocked!
On departure we asked about keeping the room as we had a late flight, this wasnt possible but they are shower facilities within the gym that you are able to use prior to departure.
I can't comment on the entertainment as we chose not to watch it, but they seemed to be a reasonable number of people that did.
All in all as I didnt pay 5 star prices for our week, i wasnt disappointed, but I personally thought the food was very poor, and wouldnt recommend paying the supplement for half board, as there are a lot of nice places to eat out very cheaply, the surrounding are fantastic and the hotel itself is well worth a visit!!
There are some fountains opposite the hotel, that at 9pm and 10pm every night light up and the water moves in time to the music, theres a cocktail bar on the first floor where you get a great view!!!!

Hotel is nice area of PLA, well away from the the strip-which is getting a going over too.
The lobby is nice and looks the business, open atrium from the lounges below to roof, glass lifts and marble all over.
our room was first floor and quiet, over looked pool and outdoor dining area.
the room itself was clean and done the job. We had double and single beds. there is floor to ceiling mirrored robes with pleant hangers. Tiled floor, air con, TV with pleanty channels and sky news.
Bathroom was all tilled with wc and bidet, walk in shower and bath. Plenty hot water, towels, and full size mirror.
We were on HB and breakfast was good, busy but good, plenty choice.
Dinner was ok, sometimes better than others. Was busy and had to q for hot food. You tend to see the same things over and over, they try hard but i would proberly go BB and goto sea front to eat as there are some nice places here. dont goto the steakhouses they are crap. the place we like is just on up from the main beach and is great.
location was fine, pleanty of nice shops with prices to match-timberland, versace ect. Is safe and not to many punter trying to sell stuff-cops lift them.
overall nice, good beach in front of hotel, clean, good location and nice staff.

The room we stayed in was a suite with it's own private pool on the balcony! We had such a huge balcony with sun loungers that we hardly ever had to leave the room!
The room was cleaned every day and the mini bar re stocked every day too.
We booked it direct through the hotels website and had no problems with it at all, they even collected us from the airport.
I cannot reccomend this hotel enough, it is a bit pricey, but if you can afford it, then go for it! We are saving up to go back one day!
