The hotel was immaculately clean and you always saw the cleaners at work.our room was cleaned thoroughly every day with fresh towels as and when required.

The food in the hotel was of good quality with plenty of choice nearly always a roast of some description most nights and a variety of fresh salads every day, sometimes the menus were a bit hit and miss but you could always make a meal out of what was on offer always plenty pasta and salad.

The hotel is situated approx 10 Min's walk from the beach which is either down several steps or a slight hill both have a large variety of shops and restaurants along the way.

The resort of Playa de las Americas is approx 25 Min's walk away which is best to walk along the sea front
the entertainment in the hotel was a bit hit and miss always the usual parrot shows mini disco every night for the children and a variety of magic shows and entertainment provided by the animation team, the day time entertainment consisted of water polo and water volleyball twice a day and the odd game of darts or rifle shooting but best to look at the daytime schedule in reception.

We would definitely visit the hotel again.

We stayed at the Jacaranda in June this year and had a good holiday.

For years we have stayed at the Bitacora Hotel so going up the Costa Adeje part of Tenerife was new to us and the Jacaranda was very nice.

We stayed all inclusive for the first time ever and the food was very good. Though there was not the choice at meal times that we were used to it worked out fine. I am a diabetic and found my diet was so easy to keep to with this type of board.

Our room with two double beds, sky tv and a fridge (for a small fee)overlooked one of the top pools and there was only a small set of steps down to it. This was ideal for us as was the great choice of sun beds each day.

My daughter was on the ninth floor (the top floor) and her room was amazing as it was more like a junior suite.

The rooms were kept neat and tidy by our maids and we could not fault them.

All the hotel staff were wonderful and tried hard to please everyone. Mind you some people just can't be pleased and we found more than a few people who should have stayed at home as they were infact quite rude to the staff!!

Entertainment was quite good but we went out most nights as we had seen the shows so many times before.

I hope to go back to this hotel and could quite fancy a November holiday this year.

Enjoyed a relaxing holiday with friends (female). Would recommend this hotel. Lovely rooms, cleaned immaculately every day, sheets changed regularly. Food was superb with plenty of variety. Location is good not far from beach, bars, shops etc. Staff were always polite and efficient. Entertainment was okay, some night really good, others passable but finished quite early. Definitely recommend this hotel.

well what can i say, when we got to our room i used the toilet flushed the chain and the toilet leaked all over the bathroom floor.upon arrival i paid 15 euros for the use of the fridge in my room it did not work for 3 days they finally put in a new one.
the food was nowhere near 4 star standard and one night in a rice dish i was eating i found a piece of steel wire which i showed the hotel sub director,he seemed to think that because this was the first time this had happened it was not really a problem.
air conditioning was fine in the rooms however for 6 days of our holidays it did not work in the entertainment rooms it was just too hot to stay in these areas for more than 30 minutes.
we ended up buying our drinks in the resort.
in the corridor outside our room where pools of water
presumably leaking in from the pool on the floor above . in my opinion this hotel is nearer a 3 star than a 4 star

Just returned from a 3 week stay. Fourth or fifth time at this hotel.

Management has changed since our last visit and standards have declined dramatically.

The hotel now caters for mostly all inclusive, and this has attracted families wanting bucket and spade holidays, and some who just want to drink from morning till night.

The first room we were given was infested with cockroaches. We were moved to a second room. Again infested with cockroaches. The management's answer to the infestations was to move you until you found a room without cockroaches, and to issue you with several cockroach sprays. We wondered if this problem has been caused by people taking food back to their rooms.

It is such a shame that what was once a very good 4* hotel has now been reduced to little more than glorified 2* apartments.

Hint for anyone who has already booked this hotel. As cockroaches don't seem to like bright lights, pull the bed away from the wall, leave nothing on the floor and leave the lights on at night.

I'll start by saying that if you haven't been here before then you will have a good time at the Jacaranda. Can't promise a GREAT time but overall this is a good place to stay. Only reason I've said I wouldn't go back is that my family are the type to explore new places rather than return to the same hotels.

Good things about the hotel is that the 'scum element' is non existent. I've stayed in places where the clientele makes me embarrssed to be British but the mix of nationalities at the Jacaranda get along fine and there's no 'boozy British' to lower the tone. Didn't see an England football shirt all week, which was a pleasant surprise.

There's none of the sunbed hogging that can mar a holiday. We reglarly arrived poolside (at the high level pool - can't comment on the main pool on the ground floor) at 10am and found plenty of sunbeds to choose from.

Food was very good. Not quite a 5/5 but if it was out of 10 I'd give a 9. Good mixture although I could see we'd stayed for two weeks instead of one, that we may have got tired of things being repeated. That said, I guess there's only so many foods that can be served up to the masses so I wouldn't be one to complain about dishes cropping up more than once per stay.

The hotel itself is pretty - a nice layout and pleasant to walk around.

On the issue of 'all inclusive' it was our first time doing this and we will do it again. That said, we were disppointed to find that there were no snacks, lollies or ice creams included in the package which would have been handy. As most parents will testify, young children don't always want to eat at set meal times. It was nice to have drinks available to us for free just a few yards from our sunbed in the poolside bar.

Entertainment was a bit naff at times (seems we missed some good acts in the preceding week) but the mini disco was a hit with our five year old. How the entertainment staff can go through with the same routine almost word for word every night for the entire summer is a testament to their mental strength - either that of they're brain dead! That said, all the kids seemed to love it, no matter what their nationality.

If you've come here to read and wonder whether this is the hotel for you then if you want a relaxing time with the potential to do games/events (not for us but there seemed to plenty of events going on) then you will enjoy the Jacaranda.

If you want to be a boozy Brit abroad, then down the road at Playa de Las Americas is the better bet.

We stayed half board but upgraded at the hotel to all inclusive for the last 5 days.

The hotel was kept very clean and the staff were generally very friendly and helpful. This hotel is huge and can be a little difficult to negotiate. The restaurant was always very busy but they dealt with the large numbers quickly and efficiently.

There was always plenty to choose from and I would say something for everyone. The hotel is up a steep hill from the beach and in the Costa Adeje area - far nicer than Americas. Very family orientated. The entertainment was always announced in 4 languages. A variety of sports were available with the in-house animation team. Kids club and mini-disco were aimed at younger children. Evening entertainment was the usual mixed bag.

A variety of heated pools to choose from on two floors. Getting a sunbed around the pool can be a problem - you have to be up by 8 and remain on your bed until 9 or your towels will be removed. Guestes at the hotel were a European mix - while we were there the majority were Belgian - they even had their own entertainment team.

Top floor pools and entertainment were aimed at the Italians.

We booked this hotel as it was a good price and advertised as 4 star. When we arrived the entrance was impressive but this feeling was short lived. We went to the room and was disappointed to find graffiti on the balcony and our feet were dirty after walking around without shoes on the tiled floor.

Food - very disappointing and certainly not 4 star - I would go as far as to say more 2/3 star. We are not hard to please but the selection was not great and if you've got kids you may struggle.

Location - we knew it was not near the beach but make sure you don't want a sea view as you will end up in A block near a busy road and no sleep!!

Staff - no major complaints and were helpful when enquiries made.

Entertainment - we booked this hotel for the evening entertainment for our son i.e. mini disco but because a lot of people were AI they used it as extra drinking time and it felt more like a nightclub with kids in. Also they are very keen on all day entertainment which is very intrusive with the PA system blaring out all day - if you like the crazy frog theme tune you will enjoy this hotel!!

In summary the brochure pictures make it look really nice but in reality its quite dated and when you are around the pool area you are surrounded by concrete which is quite depressing. If you want a cheap holiday that's all inclusive then book this hotel but if you want 4 star look somewhere else.

Hi me and my husband stopped at the above hotel the first week in June on an all inclusive board. I was very disappointed about this hotel. Don't get me wrong if your stopping half board or BB it will be a lovely holiday but don't go AI you have a very little selection of drinks the only snacks are pre packed sandwiches or make your own by the pool, you dont get ice cream for kids.

The entertainment was rubbish basically because it was spoken in 3 different languages and couldn't understand the difference and when the English spoken parts were.

The food was poor, the breakfast was all German sausages and we were even served carrots, sweetcorn and peas for breakfast and sometimes southern fried potato wedges, however we did have one day where the food was lovely.

The rooms were comfortable, however, maintenace was going on above us and work started at 7am drilling and taking tiles off the floor.

This hotel is catered more for Germans and Italians even the TV had german channels free but the English had to pay 8 euros a day to use the TV.

In the brochure it said the hotel was in Playa des la americas however its not its in Costa Adeje. Please check before you book your tour operator tells you that you are based in Costa Adeje as most people especially young people wanting to go out every night will have to pay approx 7/8 euros to get into the centre of Playa De Las Americas which is quite costly if doing more than once.

We were given a choice to upgrade to all inclusive at any time during our stay, but after seeing the lack of entertainment...none. ( Animation teams onsite geared totally towards Italians ) geared towards the British holidaymaker decided to stick with half board which was a blessing ( all inclusive patrons passed over at bar for paying customers ).

The food could not be faulted excellent...but hotel was full and only using 2/3rds capacity of restaraunt, queue,s were huge at every sitting. Hotel looks like a 4 star in all public area,s ( watch out for cracked tiles round pool tables if wearing heels ) bathroom could be doing with a proper cleaning ie: taps / shower curtain etc.. bedding never changed during visit.

Location is well out if you like any sort of entertainment. Personally I would,nt return to this hotel.

food was ok - the best all inclusive food ive had in tenerife but would only go back on bed and breakfast,

first impressions of hotel were great - its the first hotel ive seen that s actually built into the ground! (you walk in from the street to reception and your actually on about the 3rd floor).

I HAVE BEEN TO THIS AREA MANY TIMES AND I FOUND THE LOCATION VERY SUITABLE.

genarally the staff were very helpful if you need anything but the bar staff around the pool were rude!

entertainment wasnt what i was expecting - its all a bit rushed and the kids entertainment didnt last very long then they are left for aroung an hour before any other entertainment starts - too long for 3yr olds!

The pools on the lower floor were fantastic and i would definately go back to the hotel just for the kids pools - having such a young child i felt at ease when i was sitting on the side and he wanted to be independant (being 3yrs old) and rome the pool unaided.

We stayed at the Jacaranda during School half term in February 2007. We found the hotel to be very clean. and the rooms were of a good size, bright and airy.

The Evening meal is of an international style hot and cold buffet, served over two sittings which can be quite busy. Whilst the selection and standard is good, you may struggle if your children only like Chicken nugget and Chips!!

The staff were very good in general and attended to any maintenance issues straight away.

It is a good idea to request a room on the pool side of the hotel, as the other side is on a busy road.

The hotel is worthy of its four stars and we would stay at the Jacaranda again.

No complaints about this hotel & would recommend anyone to stay there, with the following provisos-

1- It is big & a little confusing finding ones way around.
2- Due to the size, a little impersonal.

3- Set evening meal times 6-30pm or 8-15pm. You must decide on arrival. This means queues for lifts & for the food. A fellow guest described it as a scrumdown.
The advantage must be that the food is fresher this way.

4- This location is very quite on an evening.

5- A dripping toilet cistern was reported twice but never fixed.

6- The room fridge is tiny & costs about £1 per day.

Nice hotel, very clean, reception staff very helpful. Entertain could do with some improvement, apart from that the only problem we encountered was money (GBP)missing from both our room and our children's room a total of £50.00 which had been in hand luggage, unfortunatley we did not notice loss until our last day. No other items in our rooms were missing, so be warned make sure you use safety deposit box for all money. We would still visit this hotel again as food was okay although restaurant was very busy.

We have become regulars at this hotel now. In my absence through work travel I always book my partner and two children into the hotel for a break which they love. The food is always fresh and the choice is wide.

A very clean and well kept hotel. Always try to avoid a roadside room, ideally you should be poolside.

I have been to the hotel so often, all the bar-staff now know me.

The entertainment is debateable if not poor. However, relaxing entertaining evenings can be spent in the piano bar where there are talented musicians entertaining.

Im going back again.

We travelled in October, 2005, upon arrival which was early hours of the morning we were left to find our hotel room alone which was quite difficult considering the size of the hotel, no porter was offered.

we did not stay in for evening entertainment as we preferred to go out. The food on the whole was excellent although became a little repetitive.

We have stayed in five star Adeje Gran and Meditteranean Palace and I would say that although the hotel was rated as 4 star. I would class it at the lower end of this categorie.

The room we had was very spacious with a double balcony although I am sure it was pure luck we acquired this room. Do not rely on pool view as there are few rooms offering this.

The fixtures and fittings were quite well worn and had seen better days. The cleanliness was good no cockroaches in the room although we were on the eighth floor not sure what it would be like on lower rooms.

On the whole a nice place to go to although I would not return would rather pay a little bit more for five star.

First time we have stayed at this hotel. We were slightly worried when we read the reports about the roads and traffic surrounding the hotel, but we did not find it a problem.

Hotel itself was lovely with nice spacious rooms. Excellent swimming pools and nice terraces. On our stay there was not many British in the hotel if you like having a chat about what's what, etc.

My only gripe was having to specify which sitting you wanted for the evening meal as you don't always know when you want to eat or what plans you may have, but I understand that you don't have to do this in the busy season.

Overall a nice hotel and in a nice location.

We have stayed at this hotel five times and have booked this hotel again for June 2007

Any time we have been the staff have been very friendly this might be because we have been so many times but if you are pleasant to them they are pleasant back

The food is excellent but I read on another review that it is Mediterranean guess what your in the med if you want fish and chips and roast dinners go to Blackpool. You have to try the food the salads are fab as well as the seafood and many nice thing that do not always look appetising but taste amazing. Someone also said that the kids lived on chips you can ask for a kids menu which they prepare fresh if there is nothing that the children fancy spaghetti bolognaise burger and chips nuggets and chips fish and chips are all there for the kids

We have had wonderful times at this place and have made many pals

Can't wait to go back

Visited this Hotel for 14 nights in March for the first time and rated it highly.

Rooms cleaned daily.

Food buffet style and something for everyone.

Loads of sunbeds as there are 7 pools in 2 levels.

There is a Children's run club also and although we did not have any children they certainly kept them entertained. Different show on every night although you need to go down at least one hour before it starts to get a good seat.

There is 2 sittings for dinner and they ask you on arrival which one you would prefer, but during our stay we changed on a few occasions and no-one said anything.

Would go back to this hotel without a doubt.

Second Time visited the hotel, and second time we were very impressed.

The hotel was very clean and tidy and was in a lovely location, about 15 peaceful stroll from the beach and about 10 minutes from the shops. Is not in the heart 'hard core' area of Playa De Las Americas - but is not to far in a taxi for the party go'ers.

The food was nice but was sometimes a bit repetitive. Although we travelled on a half board basis, the first thing we did when we arrived was upgrade to all inclusive with the hotel, as you were unable to do so with Thomas Cook. The bar service was good but a little slow as was all waiter service, and more than once a waiter tripped with a tray full of glasses and bottles - opps!

All in all good hotel with 7 pools, some good facilties and ideal for a nice family/couples break -as a travel agent would recommend!

The first impression of the hotel was lovely. The reception staff couldn't do enough for us - although we did email and ask for a pool view not too high up and ended up on the top floor overlooking the road - which is very busy - but you could see the sea - just! Apart from that it was lovely.

As most other people have said the hotel was exceptionally clean with clean towels every day and the beds changed twice.

The food in the dining room is very repetitive but there was plenty to choose from - the salad bar was good with a great assortment. There was always the same type of desserts though.

The one bugbear of the holiday was trying to get a drink. Every night we had to wait for up to 35 minutes to get served and I have put this in the hotels log book as there was nowhere enough staff on. Goodness knows what it would be like in the height of summer.

The entertainment was poor for a 4 star hotel except for the night they did Sister Act - which was hilarious and had the place in uproar - well done to the entertainment staff! It was terrible trying to get a drink in this bar too.

We had a good relaxing holiday although it rained 5 days out of 7 - but nobody can predict what your weather is going to be can they. All in all I would recommend this hotel.

The hotel is situated on a busy roundabout but is only a few hundred yards from a nice beach.

The room was a good size with two single and two double beds but I wish the TV would have a decent english channel on it, even just to catch up on the news at home. BBC1 or ITV would do instead of CCN Europe

The hotel cleaners were very efficient, always cleaning and polishing everything that moved. Food was good with a wide selection although once or twice there wasn't a great deal that I fancied.

Hotel entertainment for the Brits is virtually non existent. The majority of guests are Italians who seem to have their own little club, with very few of other nationalities. The main evening entertainment took place inside and the air conditioning in the venue could not cope when the place was full so be prepared for a sweaty evening.

We arrived at the hotel to be told we had to go to first dinner sitting which was in 20 minutes and that this could not be changed (although we just pleased ourselves after first night which sitting we went to)

The hotel room was very clean and plenty of towels and sheets changed at least every other day if not every day!.

The food was wonderfully presented and nicely cooked but this was based around a Mediterranean theme. Very poor choice for kids nothing at all really except chips!!

The hotel staff were friendly and helpful animation team which also ran mini club differed in their enthusiasm for their job. Erica was excellent with the kids though.

Entertainment in the day time provided by hotel never really happened, and at night it was all in German etc. One of the nights at midnight, the hotel let work men start drilling this was stopped when we complained to them.

Sunbeds were a nightmare they started being moved at 5.20 am every morning (we had a pool view room) even though reserving was suppose to be not allowed and there were plenty to go round as well as comfy mattresses.

Only problem with room was we were in, was that we were in the middle of a mother and father and two sons so many a conversation took place between the two across our balcony and slamming doors and music in the early hours by the boys. Parents soon put a stop to this when we said.

Would not return to hotel again as not worthy of four star rating really and not food for kids despite there being loads around the complex.

The Jacaranda is a large and impressive hotel and is kept very clean.

However when we visited it was just too busy as a result you had to queue for everything not funny when you have young children. The meals were of a good standard however I feel were more suited to continental tastes.

The main pool area got far too busy if you were not up for 7.00 am then you had no chance of a sun lounger and there was now-where else to sit apart from the bar out in the sun again not funny if you have young children. The adult entertainment was very poor, the children entertainment is ok but again British children are in a minority and the staff did not go out of their way to encourage them to join in.

The mini disco was good but the venue got far too busy about 500 people in one room so no chance to get a drink unless you bought three at the beginning of the evening.

Not for us and would not go back.

Had a really good holiday - hotel lovely. The room was very spacious.

Kids loved the mini club and disco the evening entertainment was good. Variety of the food was excellent even champagne for breakfast.

It was in a good location although there was a very busy road outside the hotel.

I would definately recommend this hotel and we will return.

Stayed at this hotel 2003 for Xmas and New Year with my boyfriend and his little boy 2 yrs. First impressions were good on arrival, spacious, large and colourful, although hotel is on a very busy road, on a roundabout, nearly got run over a couple of times!!

Food was average, same stuff everyday and was very congested. Staff were friendly and quite helpful, took a while to check in though!! Rooms were very nice, 2 large double beds and nice spacious bathroom. Didn't ever stay in the hotel at night as heard that the entertainment wasn't very good.

Hotel grounds were ok, but the pools seemed quite dangerous especially for young children, few tiles were chipped and seemed a large drop down. Wouldnt class this as a four star more of a good three star, wish id stayed at the Anthelia park, looks and sounds fab!!

Hotel is very clean and rooms are roomy and comfortable.

Food is served buffet style but is plentiful varied and of excellent quality. You would be hard to please if you couldn't find something you liked

Pool areas are a bit off putting because of dark blue tiles

Kids entertainment is first class but not for adults.

All in all an excellent family hotel - very good value.

When we arrived they had overbooked the hotel, We ended up in the managers suit which had marble floor, a jacuzzi and two bedrooms! Anyway, the hotel was very clean and the food was nice (A bit repetitive though!)
The location of the hotel was very good and a stroll down to the beach took you through a plaza with many shops. The staff were very friendly. However, the entertainment was performed in the basement. It was very smokey down there. The entertainment was ok though. Yes, i would stay at this hotel again if i went back to Tenerife.

We were recomended to stay at this hotel by the lady in the travel agents. We were concerned about being too close to the lively area of las americas but didn't want to be too far away either. She had stayed in the hotel herself and said how good it was. She was right. The hotel, the rooms, the food, the pool, all really good. Quite interesting to, was the number of pools and on different levels!

First impressions of the hotel were very good. There is a very good size reception area which over looks the fantatic pool areas. The rooms are very nice and very clean. We also found them of good size. The food in the hotel was the best I've ever had. So much choice.
The staff especially in the restaurant were very friendly and polite. the only thing that let us down was the location. it is quite along way from Las Americas. Also the shops were abit disappointing, but apart from that you couldn't fault it.
