| said: My partner and I returned from the Green Golf this weekend, we had a fantastic holiday and already plan to return with my girlfriends parents next year.
The hotel accomodation was very clean and decorated/furnished to a high standard.
The hotel staff were very friendly and always willing to help.
The pool area was very plesant and the bar area was lovely.
The food served at the bar was very nice especially the buffet style breakfast.
The location was great for us as we were away from the hussle and bustle of the centre however it was only a short walk or 5 euros by taxi if you wanted to visit the restuarants and shops in the town.
As cash is not used on site upon arrival reception request either credit card details or 100 euros for your account, this enables you to pay for any items at the bar/supermarket etc by your room key card and you can check the balance at any time via reception.
We really enjoyed our stay and look foward to returning.

The rooms were spotlessly clean did not see 1 single cockroach, very spacious.
The food was very good but a touch on the expensive side, all the staff were very helpful.
The location is ideal because its not too close to the strip but if you want to go there its only a 10 min walk away.
The entertainment was ok something different every night but if you want better you just go in to town only 5 euros in taxi if you dont want to walk.
Already booked for next year, 2007.

The staff were polite and efficient.
We stayed in a duplex two bedroomed apartment at the front of the hotel, and even with the building work going on over the road( which we never heard a thing.) The view we had was quite pleasant and peaceful.
The swimming pool was clean and not too crowded around the pool area. We were also very impressed at the tidy gardens and terraces.
Also we had heard about the break ins but and no worry"s as long as you use safety deposit boxes and just be sensible about security overall.
We will be going back to this fantastic hotel again hopefully in the near future.

We did hear some noise first thing in the morning. But we are really glad we did not let this put us off from going as we all really enjoyed our stay.
The apartments were very clean and spacious. We had read about break in's on this web site before we left but i have to say that during our two week stay we heard nothing!!
The staff were very friendly and helpful.
The entertainment was 'different'. But it was that bad you couldnt help but join in! Just get drunk and it sounds so much better!
The safe cost 35 Euros. With a 30 Euro deposit which you got back at the end of your stay.
All in all it was a nice place to stay for a relaxing holiday.

| said: This is the worst holiday we have ever had!!!!!
Upon our arrival I spent the first hour in reception as our balcony sliding doors didn't lock and also the wooden spindle was hanging loose on the balcony (not a good idea with 2 children) To be fair both of these were fixed that evening but also the dining table in the apt was damaged and that was also reported.
Apart for that these apts LOOK nice although as stated in other reviews security is a big issue. There were at least 3 brake in's whilst we were there and as the children sleep in the other end of the apt we did wedge the sofa bed up against the sliding door (shouldn't have to do things like this on a 4star complex)
Apts appear to be clean but not upon closer inspection, the stairs to our apts were not brushed once during our 2wk stay and the apts don't have a broom or I would have done it myself.
We returned for a night out to find our apt over run with ants (500+) along with the odd cockroach and raw sewage in the shower tray. They offered us 2 separate apts as they didn't have one for the four of us that would have meant splitting up overnight but as it was after midnight we declined and spent over 3 hrs sorting it ourselves!!!
Also the apts have NO AIR COND the temps during our stay reached 107 which was ridiculous as apart from no air cond you can't leave the windows open for fear of being burgled and there is no other form of ventilation! You can hire fans for 2.50 euro per day but these are noisy. You can also hire the TV remote for a deposit of 12 euro and 3 euro per day along with the safety deposit boxes again approx 3 euro per day with a 35 euro deposit. Considering the crime within the complex these should be free!!!!
The complex operates a no cash policy which again appears to be good but please check what you are paying for as we were charged 3 diff prices for a coke at the bar and other people also had discrepancies with their bills.
The pool area became very busy and often not enough room to swing a cat.
Although it states you can't reserve sunbeds people do and don't return for hours upon end leaving the beds empty all day with just the offending towels for company!
The service in the bar is very slow and the beer was flat for the full 2 weeks, prices were ok but 6 euro for a Bacardi and coke was pushing it!
The only good thing about our hol was the weather!!!
We would never stay in these apts again!!!

| said: Was glad to see that the brochure lived up to the accommodation!
We stayed in a 2 bed duplex apartment right next door to the mini marketand right opposite the swimming pools. The apartment was extremely spacious and very well kept.
Our maid Gladys ensured she did a thorough clean on each visit. As per other reviews, you did have to get up early and reserve a sun bed, otherwise none left.
The hotel staff were very helpful, and all requests were dealt with promptly. Did not see any of the entertainment but could clearly hear it! Some were good, and some definitely bad!
The only downside to this complex was that there was not enough for the children to do, the place could benefit from some sort of childrens club.
Was also surprised not to see a microwave in the apartment. Overall, the holiday was a pleasant one, and we too did hear of two break in's and like others thought it could be an inside job. However, this has not deterred us from wanting to come back again in the future even though the complex is a little out of the way.

| said: The Green Golf apartments are ideal for anyone looking for a clean and civilised holiday in this part of Tenerife.
The apartment we had was beautifully clean and well-equipped. The patio area was quiet and private and the accommodation was a very good size for a family of 3 or 4.
The staff were very friendly and spoke excellent English.
The supermarket was well-stocked, if a little expensive and there was not always a wide range of fresh fruit and veg.
The pool-side bar had good service but was a little over-priced. Much better to brave the main resort early evening for a reasonably priced meal. The pool area was lovely. It was quite busy in August and you had to "reserve" your sunbeds at around 8am. Quite alot of kids but what do you expect at this time of year at a family resort? We heard about the break ins but have to say that we don't take anything of value away with us and certainly don't leave it in our rooms. Cameras and cash were kept in a safety deposit box and we never felt uneasy about security.
Apart from the pool there is not a great deal of entertainment but my 2 kids made friends very easily and were quite happy for the whole day. Evening entertainment was a bit loud as we were in the apartment next to the bar area but it was not unruly and we have no complaints.
Overall this is a lovely complex. Very few 18-30s, excellent accommodation and pleasant staff.

| said: Our 1st impression was Fantastic, we originally booked a 2 bedroom appartment, but was allocated 2 seperate 1 bed adjoining appartments, overlooking the Golf Course, the Appartments are lovely one of the nicest we have stayed in, the complex is very nice plenty of sunbeds, which are all taken by 8am!!
They have a no cash policy, you use your room card to buy from the shop and pool bar, but be carefull as you can get carried away, my advise is to pay your 'bill' every couple of days.
The pools are lovely but a bit over run with lilo's and balls, its a shame 1 pool is not 'lilo free' pool, this would allow those without kids to swim in peace.
The Hotel is a bit out of the way, a good half hour walk to Town we opted for the easier option of Taxi's each night and there is a taxi rank right outside! But by the end of the 2 weeks we had paid out approx £200 getting us out and about, my advise is to walk into town, but definatly get a cab back as the main road has a row of prostitues which is a bit scarry especially as some of Green golf clients actually got their mobiles stolen from them.
The entertainment in the complex was awful, and the food not much better and very costly.
The most worrying thing is the security, our 2nd day we were broken into, there was no sign of forced entry, and it happened during the day and the break in was from the front door! Only us, the cleaners and Maintenance have access to your room.
We have since read on this page that people think its an inside job, I now tend to agree with them, Mangement did nothing at all to help us, they were not happy that we got the police involved, and that CID came out the following day, we heard the following day that there was 5 break ins during the night!!
We then ended up spending the remainder of the holiday with our dining chairs blocking the patio doors and the bar stool jammed up aginst the front door, is this any way to spend 2 weeks in a 4 star complex? I dont think so.
The manager holds a weekly champagne reception for all her guests, we addressed all our issues with her during this meeting, she informed us that she was increasing the security, raising the fencing around the Golf course and not allowing Staff to go into your apartments without leaving a note on your door!!! She also told us that the most vunreable apartments which have been broken into before are room 116 and 122, we stayed in room 122!!!
Look out for Oscar on reception if you have any problems at all, he is fantastic, very helpful and compasionate, he continued to ask how we were after our robbery (unlike the Manager)and made our stay more enjoyable.
Enjoy Green Golf, but we warned!! Your rooms are not safe!!!!!!!!!

Food expensive and small portions.
Taxis to resort centre a must after dark. ("Ladies of the night" on the road back to the Hotel!) Taxi prices varied from 4-6 euros.
Entertainment - diabolical!
There were 4 robberies in our block of the hotel while we were there. We put chairs behind the main door and a settee across the patio windows every night for security, as well as putting all valuables and money in safety deposit box - this is a must!!!
Would return to Tenerife but to a more secure and central Hotel.

| said: We went to the Green Golf Resort as a result of the past positive comments on this, and similar websites. I feel however, that although true at the time, the resort has gone down hill a little since.
We occupied one of the duplexes at the front of the resort which looked onto the main road.
The apartment itself looked on first impressions very impressive with a downspiral staircase to the main bedroom and en-suite below. But the more we stayed there the more faults we found, and I think it was down more to the hotel ownersy not renovating and replenshing furniture, cookware etc than anything else.
Things like the settees in the living room had collapsed springs, the en-suite shower head was hanging loose, tiles missing in the en-suite, door knobs missing from doors, and pots and pans seeing better days.
Have to say however that the cleaners were fantastic, and left the rooms spotless every time they came in.
The main rpoblem we had was the noise from the building work taking place opposite the hotel complex. We were disturbed from 8am in the morning with pneumatic drills, grinders, vehicles coming and going and the noise of the crane screeching as it moved.( When you hear it you will know what I mean ! )
We complained to the First Choice rep, who offered to move us within the partment block and even to the single bedroom apartments, and thank god we didnt, as we were there when the burglaries took place in those same apartments.
I would advise anyone going there to take advantage of the safety deposit box system which costs you about 2.5 euros per day with a 30 euro returnable deposit.
The taxis were a shot in the dark when it came to costs of getting anywhere, they almost made up their own figures, but it ranged from 4 - 6 euros to get into los Critianos/Playas. This is depsite the fact that the taxis are metered.
There is a free bus service to and from the hotel to Los Cristianos, but it stops at 5.10pm which is silly.
The entertainment was pathetic - and didnt keep many people entereained, and because you are so far out of town, keeping teenagers happy can be difficult unless you're willing to go into town every night.
I wouldn't recommend this hotel until they sorted out their decor, facilities and a method of getting to town and back cheaply - ( subsidised taxis ? ) AND until that building work is finished !

| said: Lovely clean spacious apartments and nice pool area which was not over busy.
A good 20 minute walk to the resort centre ok early evenings, but not advisable to walk home after midnight as a few undesirables on the road side. However taxis only cheap around 3 - 5 euros.
Entertainment was not good but ok to return for a drink after visiting the resort. The "no cash" basis worked well for us, was easy to check your balance and just settle the bill at the end of the stay.
Security was an issue, we had to chase someone from our balcony at 5:20 in morning trying to get in, and unfortunately he managed to break in to another couple of rooms. I would suggest report it immediately if in any doubt about doors windows etc not shutting securely.
Food was a bit pricey compared to rest of resort however it was very good.
All in all was a very good complex apart from the security issue but I would visit again.

| said: We stayed at the Green Golf for 2 weeks at the end of July. It has to be one of the best self catering holidays that we have taken.
We had a 2 bedroom duplex room that was very clean, very spacious and had excellent kitchen facilities. The whole complex including the pools were kept in immaculate condition at all times.
The only downside was the evening entertainment which usually consisted of female vocal singers singing Abba songs. We went to the Compostella, a hotel at the bottom of the road, a couple of times to see their entertainment.
We also found that in the first week of the school holidays got very busy especially around the pools.
It's a pity one pool could not be used for ball games and lilos and the other pool for children and people who wanted to swim.
The location of the hotel was ideal for us as it was only a five minute taxi ride to and from the centre of Playa. After a night out in Playa or Los Chritianos it was very nice to go back to the peaceful setting of the Green Golf.
We would fully recommend this hotel to anyone. In fact we have just booked to go back next year for 2 weeks.

| said: The Green Golf is a beautiful complex. Well kept gardens and apartments are clean enough.
Security is an issue though, we had read previous reports which made us very wary. The doors & windows are not secure so I would advise that no valuables are left in the apartments.
The sunbeds are also a big issue, people do put towels down and they maybe don't arrive until mid afternoon. The RESIDENTS seem to be the bigest culprits of this.
The restaurant is adequate but a bit over priced compared to the restaurants in town but this is to be expected.
Entertainment - Very basic, not much life about them at all. Nothing that really makes the crowd interact with each other.
The location is a bit out of the way but the taxi rank is just outside and they are very cheap so this is not really a problem.
There is a small area for children to play but it could do with a bit of lighting as it is dark at night and the kids so seem to play here while the adults have a drink at the bar.
Overall this is a nice resort and I would visit again.

| said: My rating for this accommodation would have been 'excellent' but for the disregard of the guests' personal safety.
There are patio doors in this resort that are NOT secure. Robbery is not uncommon but we only found this out after we were robbed. Do not think "I've got insurance, I'll get a security box...so it's OK"
You WILL NOT get over the fact that a person will break into your room and walk past your sleeping kids and into your bedroom to steal stuff from your bedside table. They knew what they were doing and so unsurprisingly we have found out that we were not the first.
Bar and other staff were friendly and polite but do not rely on the hotel to be of any assistance if you get robbed: Reception staff were obstructive and actually lied to us: Presumably to keep police out of the hotel.
Call 112 for the police immediately if anything happens.
Green Golf could be great if they spent a few pounds on security per door. But they didn't....so:
AT GREEN GOLF CROOKS CAN GET IN YOUR APARTMENT VERY EASILY....YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!!!!!!

The pool area was lovely but there is no shallow end(1.45m to 1.55m) which is difficult for small children although there is a very small baby pool.
Very quiet at night as there is little evening entertainment but that makes a nice change from the usual holiday karaoke, etc.
There is family entertainment at the Compostella Golf 111 which is only about 3 mins away, so the best of both worlds.
The main resort is about 15mins walk but taxis are cheap and a bit hair raising if you need them.

Not much in the way of entertainment so most nights were spent in Las Americas.Plenty of good restaurants,we liked Gary's on the beach front just next to McDonald,s also would recommend the Vista Sur restaurant just along from Mary Rogans Irish bar.
Also pay a visit to the Los Angeles bar /restaurant for a good night out The complex is a bit out of the way about 20 mins walk to the centre of town but this means its very peaceful and quiet at night.Would recommend these apartments to anyone looking for good quality accomodation at at reasonable price.

| said: The appartments were very clean, we had a 1st floor appartment with two balconys, one facing the sea, the second facing the hills which were great views.
Two appartments were burgled whilst we were there, both being ground floor and facing the golf course, however did speak to young girls who had it and they left door open to air!!
You have windows or doors, then shutters over top, we had both locked at all times when not in appartment, several left doors or windows open and just pulled to the shutters!just lock up why take a chance.
The entertaiment bit tiring to listen to every night, women singing along to music, however being fare she had plesant voice.
The pool area really clean beautiful with all the plants around and well tended to, no life guard or anyone watching the antics that got up to tho that was frustrating at times, as ball games did get out of hand and ball hit people on loungers several times and if it hit you it HURT.
Would be an idea to have one pool for swimming, one for games, lilos, rings ect.
Great complex for couples, adults, we were just relieved we did not have our kids with us on this week break as they would have been bored to tears here, like most childrens faces that were there, there was nothing for them apart from the pool and two pool tables and one table tennis table, for tots a little area with a swing.
I would advise no one to take kids here unless you are going to entertain them yourselves 24/7. My children would have hated it they are 17, 14, 13.
Hotel staff ok, however cleaners hard working and always smiling.

The staff were all very friendly and helpful. If you had a problem with your accommadation the maintainance men came promptly to repair it.
The only downside was the lack of entertainment and there was very often no bar open in the evening although the second week the poolside bar was open later.

The resort and the rooms were very clean.
We had a couple of meals at the resort, they where good but not spectacular, and slighty more expensive than nearer the coast. However it was nice to stay in the resort a couple of times.
The resort location was great for us as we are not big beach people, so the 20 mins to the beach was not an issue. My partner plays golf so he was more than happy with the location.
Entertainment was poor to be honest but a short taxi journey into Los Cristianos was no hassle so this wasn't a real issue.
The resort staff where all excellent and friendly, there was one particular guy on reception in the evening that more than once pointed us in the right direction of bars, clubs and placed to eat.
We would definitely go back to these apartments.

| said: We have just returned from a 2 week stay at the Green Golf apartments, they were very nice indeed. They were large and comfortable and the maid service was excellant. We had clean towels every day and bedding changed every 4 days.
The complex was very nice with 2 pools one of which was heated which was needed as the weather wasn’t too good.
The apartments were a little out of the way but if you don’t mind a 15/20 minute walk into the resort then it's not too bad.
The only complaint we had was the prices they charged for drinks in the 3ft long bar, 10euros for a coke and vodka lemonade. For the amount of apartments there we thought the bar area to be very poor. The exchange rate was also very poor they were offering 1.32 euros to the pound when in the resort it was 1.43. Quite a difference, don't change your money there, you lose out quite a lot. Also the supermarket was a little over priced, you have to check sell by dates on some things as we brought some butter there and when checked it wasn’t just a week or 2 out of date but 6 months. Apart from that it was a very enjoyable stay and would return to these apartments.

Apartments are huge immpeccably furnished and we were lucky enough to have one on the upper level affording better views from the large balcony. Everything in the comlplex was immaculatly maintained from the tropical gardens ,pool area [heated], snack-bar, to loos and shower room at reception level.
The staff work very hard [a special mention for Javier who searched the complex to return a jacket to me which I consequently lost 2 days later at the Mediteranean Palace].
We hope to return to the resort sometime.

| said: Booked this holiday on impulse as a bit of a break after the Christmas Silly Seaon. Glad we did. Only stayed 1 week from 7th-14th January. Everything was first class.
Appartments where spotless and well maintained. Cleaning was done almost every day with fresh towels. Decor and space within the 1 bed appartment was excellent with a nicely laid out kitchen and bathroom.
On arrival we noticed the sliding door in our bedroom didn't lock. I contacted reception and it was fixed within 12 hours.
The no cash system (your room key is swiped for all purchases from the bar/pool bar and shop and it goes on your room bill) worked very well and was easy to keep on top of.
The only downside was the lack of safes in the rooms. All the safes are now held in a locked room behind reception. It can be a bit of a pain to have to go down to reception to sign for the room key to get at your own stuff but it proved to be very secure and hassle free in the end.
The bar food was simple and nicely presented. Nothing special but always fresh and well cooked. (tip, get down to breakfast before 10am if you can as some of the buffet can get a bit cold)
The hotel was situated next to the golf course (we're not golfers) and was a 25 minute walk away from the main resort. I would not recommend walking to/from the resort alone or at night as it's poorly lit and a bit rough under foot. However there was a taxi rank outside the hotel (empty on Friday nights) and for between 3-5 euros you can get a cab direct to the resorts.
The staff where lovely. The usual polite and cheerful we've come to expect in Tenerife. Very helpful when I ordered some flowers delivered to the room for my wife. I told them they where for a surprise and they kept them at reception for me rather than putting them in our room (serious brownie points earned)
Didn't make use of the entertainment but they held a poolside fashion show that kept the boys entertained and also used the show to sell some of the collection to the audience.
This hotel is excellent. The best self catering appartments we've visited in Tenerife.

| said: Self catering suited us as a family. The food in the pool bar and the restaurant was excellent. Having three children we expect everything to be clean, it was exceptionally clean. The food was to a very good standard.
With having a young family we appreciated the quieter location of Green Golf, although it was only a short walk to Las Americas.
The hotel staff on the whole were fine, but we would like to pay a special thanks to Michelle who ran the kid's club she was excellent.
We didn't pay much attention to the entertainment due to us having a young family, but what we did see was good.
We are certainly thinking about coming back again in the near future as the holiday on the whole was super. The children enjoyed the pool activities whilst my husband and I enjoyed the relaxation, as we felt confident the children were safe.

| said: I booked this as a late deal for myself and my two children aged 7 and 10 yrs.
Hubby was apprehensive about us going without him but our main holiday was later that year.
He need not have worried. The resort was the best i have ever stayed in. There is a free bus to take you to the beach / las americas during the day and the taxi rank is directly outside.
Roughly 4 / 5 euro per trip which is great for the later trips into town. I often walked with the children which took around 15 mins but the walk was fine and we never had any problems.
The resort is self catering but snacks around the pool are nice and prices are roughly the same as in resort.
The supermarket is as stated well stocked and open daily.
The no cash policy is great and can be paid up front to help keep an eye on spending.
Our appt was spotless and i couldn't think of one fault!
This resort would get 10/10 for me and all four of us are going this year Aug 05 and I cant wait.
Tenerife / Las Americas often gets a bad reveiw but not this place this realy is great and I would recommend to anyone x

| said: The decor and friendly staff are second to none. We have holidayed in the Green Golf (GG) six times within the last couple of years and will return again.
The layout of the Green Golf, especially the pool and gardens are like a tropical paradise. I have experienced problems such as leaking showers and fused lights, all fixed within minutes of being reported.
All staff are eager to assist and recognise and greet returning holidaymakers.
Although building work is being carried out adjacent to the GG we did not experience any noise around the pool area or have our sleep disturbed.
The views of the golf course and mountains at the rear of the resort are amazing. My husband and I enjoy the evening stroll into Las Americas, which takes only ten to fifteen minutes.
I would advise anyone to try the Green Golf.

| said: This coming August (2004) our family are returning to the Green Golf Appts for the 5th year running. It was by accident we went in first place due to an overbooking error so wasn't sure about it but we were well pleased with the outcome. The appartments themselves are very very clean and very well maintained. So much so we have chosen these appartments as our main holiday ever since and having stayed here for 4 yrs running already and having booked for this coming year, I'd recommend them to anyone. They are well laid out and almost like home from home with all usual home comforts and the pool area is very clean and sun beds are available to everyone although quite rightly so......the management dont dont tolerate people who rise early to reserve a sunbed with a towel and disappear ! Staff remove the towels so that everyone who spends time at the pool do get a sunbed. The small shop on site is well stocked and bake fresh bread each and everyday, although a little bit more expensive than local supermarkets which are located nearer to the resort you do pay a little over the odds for this convienience. The eating area overlooks the pool and they offer a simple but varied menu but this suits our needs by day as we always go into the resort to dine in the evening. The bar and entertainment area is welcoming and everyone who attends the evening entertainment is encouraged to join in and make friends with fellow guests. Entertainment for the children is also of a good standard of which they all enjoy. Thre staff are very friendly, particularly the bar and waiting staff who we have come to know quite well over the years. The appartments are thouroughly cleaned and the staff who service your appartments are friendly too and you'll see them throughout the day keeping a high standard in and around the appartments. The gardens are gorgeous and are tended everyday and very well maintained by regular gardeners who are also very conscientous. The two main pools are seperated by a footpath and are vey clean and complemented with a jacuzzi. There is a small paddling pool for the very young ones too so parents can keep an eye on them at close hand too. Security is second to none with a security guard on duty 24hrs a day patrolling the appartments and a personal safe box can be obtained for a small fee and are located in the reception area so you dont have to leave your personal belongings and valuables in your appartment. The appartments aren't located in the main resort but are set back between both Las Americas and Los Christianos which makes for a much quieter location. It's just a 10 minute walk alongside the golf course to the main hussel and bussel of the resort and a taxi rank is located right outside the appartments. All in all the appartments and its location suits us as a family who like to enjoy the nice surroundings of the pool area by day but enjoy the busier resort by night. Id recommend these appartments to anyone who appreciate clean, well kept surroundings. I never ever thought I'd return to same appartments but after holidaying here .......it's difficult to choose anywhere else when the standards of all that they offer are very very high. Im sure you wont be disappointed !!
