| said: This was a late deal booked on-line with Octopus Travel, accomodation only and due to where this was situated we were keen to try it out,we were lucky enough to have a pool/sea view in block 5 on the fourth floor, it was just what we required, reasonably comfortable beds, well equiped kithen with kettle, toaster and coffee machine as well as the usual utensils. I love the location close to Vistas Beach and next to the Safari Shopping Centre and lots of lovely restuarants. We didn't see any entertainment so I have left it as none. I did notice that some of the accomodation on the Mare Nostrum side of the complex may have been noisier as they were above some shops and bars. We have been to this area many times and to be honest I think some people will find absolutely anything to complain about, if you expect things to be the same as in England perhaps you should stay home. We had a problem with our boiler while we were there at 10.30pm it was leaking all over the floor, with one phone call to reception the security guy came up within 10 mins and sorted it all out armed with a mop and bucket. We were leaving first thing in the morning so there was no point moving accomodation. We found all the staff to be friendly and helpful maybe because we are reasonably easy going ourselves. We were more than happy with our stay at this complex after all you get what you pay for.

| said: Have stayed at Compostela Beach for many years usually in large family group. I struggle to understand some of the comments here. We have always found it to be an excellent location and the staff are friendly and helpful. It is a good place to base a holiday and is near some excellent bars and restaurants with the beach alongside. It has improved a lot since the tour companies stopped using it and it is less noisy now. The Malibu bar and Happy Days offer decent food and drink at reasonable prices and the pool area has been improved with a large number of sunbeds available as well as umbrellas.

| said: This was our first visit to the Compestella Beach apartments after many stays at Palm Beach Club at the other end of the resort. Despite mixed reviews we decided a change would be good and also as this is a bonus Easter break, being cheaper also helped.
We booked with a private agent in the UK and met the onsite rep and paid him in full when we arrived. They had a number of rooms in the complex which they rented out. The downside of this that we had no cleaners during the week and no change of linen or towels, whilst the rest of the complex did. The first notice we saw in our room was reminding us to double lock our doors and this was strongly reemphasised by our rep, this did not give that warm feel of a security we had at Palm Beach. There were however pairs of security guards patrolling the complex and we didn't hear of any problems.
The rooms were basic and in urgent need of updating the odd handle and knob fell off, and the crockery and cutlery were made up from a variety of sets. There was however plenty of storage space and the rooms were adequate for our requirements. Depending where you were there could be noise from near by bars but for us the noise of the cleaners rattling their trolleys along on the tiled floors from early morning was the biggest irritation. We were on the second floor and access was either by and uncovered stair case or a lift just big enough for 2. The stairways were not attractive and did have the feel of a 1970s council block of flats, we called this the Bronx. The pool area was large and we had no problems getting the eight sun beds we needed every day, however the sun beds had no cushions and only a handful were adjustable i.e. you could pull up the head rest. There were a number of cats about but they kept them selves to themselves and we didn't see much evidence of their mess.
The pool was very cold and it did take your breath away it was also fairly deep all round. The bar was good and the Brits that ran it were very friendly. A pint of the local beer was 1 Euro 80 and you could get 2 local spirits and mixers for 5 Euros. Soft drinks were 1Euro 50, the onsite supermarket sold cans for 70 cents!! The food in the bar was also good value and a decent quality. For football fans they show 3 different games on a Saturday in the bar and as many games as they can during the week. The nearby beach was very nice but busy and the sun beds and parasols expensive. Out and about we revisited our old haunts up by Palm Beach, in particular or favourite El Gomero at the top of the road that Palm Beach is situated. The locals use this restaurant so you knew it will be good, the best steaks in town, it can get very busy but you can book. We also tried Tony Romas which you cannot book and there is often a queue, food was good although a little more expensive, it is similar to Harleys and we prefer the atmosphere in Harleys. For entertainment we revisited the Legends bar, much busier than it used to be and some good cabaret. Deano was MC and had mastered all the latest releases and can literally dance on the ceiling whilst singing the Lionel Ritchie classic.
There are a lot of road works up by Palm Beach as they are pedestrianising the area so although we didn't know it was probably the best time to miss it this year. If we do return next year Compestella Beach would not be our first choice, although if you want cheap and cheerful it is ok for a short break

| said: Compostela Beach apartments. Stayed here over Xmas & New Year, these apartments I felt are well past the the sell by date.
Our particular one was privately owned & was kitted out with everything we needed & very clean. However because of flight problems our first night was spent in a different apartment it was musty smelling dingy & the balcony seemed to be the sleeping quarters for the complexes rather large cat population. Sitting on our balcony one morning I thought this complex reminds me of somewhere ALCATRAZ!
Pool area was large & kept spotless by the ground staff & the gardeners.
Very handy location for bars restaurants & very close to fab beach. Check out Garys bar great evening.
Entertainment just found it very noisy & dated compared to other nearby apartments would not go back here again

Our family along with 2 other parties could only stand being there for 1 night before we moved to a different complex.
The only good thing about this complex is the location as it is close to beach and shops.
I would definitely not recommend this complex to anyone

| said: This was our first time at compostella beach, and will definitely be our last!
We had hardly any sleep for the whole 2 weeks. We arrived on the friday night and was down at reception at 7am saturday morning to complain and ask to be moved. We were in block 1, apt 10a right next to the entrance, chinese, stairs, lift, alley way leading to the otherside of the block, which was also home to the bins.To cut a long story short we wasn't moved until tuesday and that was only because we told them to move us or get us a flight home. This room in block 2 wasn't much better, and we never had any water between 6 & 7.30pm as we were on the 3rd floor.
Site cleaners woke you at 7am every morning with their noisy water tap and wheelie bins, and to be honest the pathway down to the pool never looked like it had been cleaned.
on arrival we were told not to use the pool because it was cloudy, eventually went in tuesday only to get swimwear covered in white sticky stuff from around the pools edge.
Reception staff were in my opinon very rude and unhelpful.
Location of hotel was good for the beaches, but thats about it.
Entertainment I thought was poor, we went out to the shows and down to the patch, where we saw a good soul & motown group at the full monty bar,and the DJ's were very funny.
Being self catering we did eat on site at happy days, they did some good meals, we also ate at scampi's round the corner, the golden house chinese on the strip, and Tuscanys.
We were glad to get home to have a good nights sleep. We will never return to this hotel again or recommend it to anyone.

| said: I travelled to these apartments expecting 3* accomodation. Absolutely not they would only in my estimation be rated at 2* or below.
On arriving at the Compostella beach apts we were disgusted at the cats dirt everywhere including in the flower boxes outside the apartments.
Our apartment backed on to an alley way it was like being in the bronx.
Staff very rude and the security was dodgy to say the least.
Bedrooms had very small windows with bars on and couldn't be opened.
Rooms like shoebox and very dark and smelly.
Pool far too deep for children only suitable for adults. Tiles around the pool were also very slippy and dangerous.
Cats were everywhere you went even on the chairs in reception and eating areas. Very unhygienic.
Could go on but won't because after first night we insisted along with another two parties to be moved or we would be going on the next flight home.
Rooms very stuffy and no air conditioning would not recommend this accomodation to anyone,
It needs to be knocked down and rebuilt with holiday makers in mind and not prisoners.

The location of the room was not ideal as we were by a lift and a Chinese restaurant.
The hotel is quite dated but well maintained, the design of the hotel did make it quite noisy as there are external corridors that transfer foot steps trolley wheels well so if you are on a lower floor this is constant.
The pool area was large and well stocked with sun beds, the pool was clean with showers and toilets available.
The two restaurants were nice and the Malibu bar had evening entertainment both well priced.
I would go back to this hotel but would have to have a better room.
The hotel is well situated in the middle of a lively area

| said: The apartments are in a lovely location, not far from shops/beach front.
The cleanliness of the place was excellent.
However, we travelled with a party of 7 friends to celebrate my sisters 40th birthday. The rooms we were given were on the ground floor, looking out towards the road, with a big hedge screening any view what so ever. This was a bit of a let down. On our first night in one of the apartments, we experienced a flood due to poor plumbing and had great difficulty getting any assistance. Eventually, after 3 visits to reception at 11.00 pm at night (having travelled through the night prior), we were moved to a room overlooking the pool on the 3rd floor. This I'm glad to say was a 100 percent improvement, with a great outlook over the pool area and a sea view!
In my opinion when booking the apartments, stress that you would like a location overlooking the pool for a much nicer outlook entirely.
Although, the start of our holiday was alittle disappointing, we settled in nicely and found these apartments to be a great base, the facilities at the Malibu bar are good if you are looking for a reasonable priced meal. Entertainment good also. There are also numerous restaurants nearby to try.

At the front of the apartment there was a walkway that ran along the front of the apartments, affording very little privacy and also we felt that there was potentially a question over security.
The apartments were kept clean and the entertainment in the evenings was excellent.

The staff were also very friendly especially the Spanish barmen in the Malibu bar,it is happy hour there all the time two pints for €2.50 !.

However the apartments was small, no kettle, no t.v, no toasters e.t.c.
There was plenty of noise in early hours of the morning, which was most annoying, as sleep was hard to come by.
The bar and the bar staff were great, cheap beer and food, very reasonable.
Fight for sunbeds every morning and they were tatty there was no shade or umbrellas.

The Pool was huge and had no complaints there. On site the drinks were very cheap, especially in Malibu bar(where Julio - lock up your daughters) worked - 'Whata would you a lika to drink mennnnn?'
There was also a rather pervy bloke at the the other bar - who liked leering at my female companions. There was no entertainment at the Happy days bar except for sky sports.
However many an enjoyable night was spent at the Malibu bar with their array of weird entertainment...Singing ' my bonny lies over the ocean...' All in all a fab holiday, great local restaurants and superb Maccy D's!

| said: On arrival the apartment complex is very impressive, pretty wooden reception and gorgeous pool area, however on entering our appartment I was slightly disappointed.
Apartment was very clean but basic is the only way to describe it,however it grew on me throughout my stay.
The cleaners came everyday except sundays to change towels and were there 5 out of 7 days to tidy and make the beds. They always did a fantastic job!
Our balcony was set back further than the ones either side to us which allowed us privacy on the balcony and we felt we could play music slighly louder. We felt bad for the people on certain floors who didnt have a balcony but a little space surrounded by a small wall, no privacy as they were the walkways.
The Happy days bar was brilliant, 2 bud for 5euro, staff friendly and food always excellent.
The only disappointment was the slight old fashionedness of the decor in the apartments but nothing to put u off staying at the hotel.

The maids were very good, as they came in every day and were very polite.
The poolside was extremely slippy and some members of out party fell many times. The water in the pool was very cloudy most days, but the last 2 days of out holiday the water was very clean.
The bar happy days was very good, and the staff were very funny.
There were many cats roaming around and going onto peoples balconies. The noise was horrible of a morning with the maid trolleys and the noise of the early morning partyers.
There were no umbrellas around the pool and it was a struggle to get a sunbed of a morning.
Overall quite good hotel and would recommend it.

| said: Apartments were dirty, maids were supposed to change linen and towels twice a week, we got one towel change in two weeks! We were on the top floor apartment which meant our bedroom and bathroom were upstairs. It didn't look like under the bed had ever seen a brush never mind a mop. When the maids did come they used an old musty smelling mop which made the whole place stink! Old broken brown shutters outside our window and pigeon poo and feathers on the window sills, disgusting!! We had no hot water between 6pm and 8pm every night for a fortnight, we had to fill the bath with cold water and stand in it and pour water over ourselves with a jug!
The ever so unpleasant reception staff told us it was a problem in the area - not their problem! I have never stayed in apartments with such unhelpful and unfriendly reception staff, they should all be sacked!
I don't know how often Apartments are checked for the star rating, but if this is a 3 star complex then I'll be going 5 star from now on!
Would never go back to this hell hole of a place in a million years.

We were allocated a 2nd floor room with a pool view as requested. The room was clean and spacious for a studio, were able to cook but ate out every night as its so cheap. Maids came everyday and even tidied around 2 hungover girls and were polite and towels often changed.
The view was lovely and pool was clean and was always able to get a sunlounger no matter what time we got up.
The Happy Days bar was also good friendly English staff, great full English breakfasts for 4euros, great washed down with a cocktail, really strong and cheap!
Great hotel over all would go back however it's really more for families and older people it's a fair walk to the clubs so we got taxis which were cheap enough. We did get told off one night for being to loud but what do you expect from a club resort. We did become quiet though.
Nice enough hotel.

The apartment we stayed in was very good. The only problem was the noise early in the morning from the pool cleaning machine which rattled on every joint of every tile and if you happen to go to bed before midnight the bars on the complex can be a bit noisy.
The location is perfect with good bars shops and the beach nearby.

Nothing is too much trouble for them, from the moment they pick you up from the airport until the time you return home everything you may require is catered for(they even lent us a wheelchair free of charge for my father)the rooms are exellent, you can change towels daily if you wish, most rooms have pool/sea view.
We stayed in one of the villas on the complex 4bedrooms 3bathrooms sleeps 11 people comfortably would recommend this holiday to anyone we are returning in september "can"t wait"

| said: We visited Compostela Beach in December 2004 for a family holiday. We had a fabulous time. The apartment was very basic but comfortable and very clean. The cleaners came in 5 times a week to clean the apartment and left clean towels every time. Our only complaint was the fact that we had no kettle which confused us slightly as we thought a kettle would be basic self-catering equipment. We did have a toaster and a coffee machine though. We just boiled a saucepan of water for a cup of tea.
The reception area was good. We made one little complaint and it was seen to straight away.
The resort was being cleaned all day, every day. The pool was cleaned out daily before it was opened. The big pool was very deep and didn't have a shallow end so it was not for little ones to use. There was a baby pool as well but that was really shallow. It could have done with one in between.
The Happy Days bar was fabulous. The food was excellent and the bar men were funny and made the kids laugh. We ate there every day in our first week because we knew the food was good. It was also quiet because we went just before christmas and it wasn't busy at all. There was no entertainment at night because of that. We appreciated that though as the children would have been disturbed if there had been loud music until the early hours. We were told it was loud in the summer months.
The resort was set in a fabulous location. Playa De Las Americas was in one direction and Los Christianos in the other. There were shops and bars/restaurants galore - lots of them English. They made you feel really welcome. The only thing which drove us mad were the sales people/ticket touters. In the end, we had to be plain rude just to get rid of them.
All in all, we had a brilliant time and didn't want to come home.

| said: Although situated in an ideal location, just minutes from a lovely beach-this place is awful, filthy & over run with cats. The pool area is a good size but the water is rather cloudy, there isnt enough sunbeds & many are cracked(set your alarm for 8.45 am to join the queue to get one),no lifeguard-pool gets a bit wild at times.Always keep footwear on-its a very slippy pool area & there was often broken glass near the bars,oh and at night we witnessed some holidaymakers taking their children around the stairwells to urinate.Thats one of the reasons why its so smelly there.Be careful on the stairs as there was often glasses or bottles left on them over night.Take your sleeping pills as its noisy from the bar areas til the early hours, then you hear people coming in during the night, then the builders will disturb you around 7 am.We didnt have any hot water for 3 days & found it hard to make anyone understand the situation, the maintenance man had to leave our water problem to go & finish knocking down a balcony opposite that had started to crumble & fall down!!! Our bedroom had musty smelling drawers & wardrobe so we had to leave most of our clothes in the case, but its still not a nice smell to have to sleep with. You will only get clean towels every 5days-which is difficult for any family to try & manage on.We would definatly never, ever visit this dirty hole again & cant believe the travel agent recommended it!

It is right on top of everything you need. Great restaurants. Fab bars (Georges, The soul suite.....) Shopping malls and even great entertainment in the complex I would strongly recommend it.

| said: Compostela beach was the best holiday yet!
The location was fantastic, and the people were great.
The PR's for the bars could be annoying to start but became friends by the end of the holiday.
The bar staff in the clubs are great and most speak English. Karaoke bars are the best... especially after a few drinks.

We were on the ground floor so no privacy as everyone walks passed your brick wall. hahaha....It was the noisiest place ever and that wasnt the complexes fault but the main street at the front. All spanish must blast their horns at all times day or night. We had 2 bath towels and 3 hand towels between me my husband and 15year old son for a whole 7 days.I would never go back here ever even if it was free.

I understand the complex has gone through a facelift and it looks very nice - can definatley recomend and will contact owner again and go back.

| said: Hi there, I have stayed in many hotel and apartment complexes in Tenerife but this paticular stay at the Compostella Beach Resort would be my most memorable visit to the island as I was vacationing with a large group of freinds, we had all just finished sixth form.
The location of the Compostella Beach was ideal for me personally as it is situated right on the border of Playa de Las Americas in the Arona district of the resort. Right on our doorstep was the neighbouring resort of Los Christionos which while quieter than PDLA has a more spanish and cultural feeling to it.
We spent most of our days exploring the many spanish bars and traditional British pubs in this resort, whilst at night we mostly ventured into the heart of Las Americas which is a pleasant 10 minuite walk away.
The Entertainment on the complex could not be faulted. There are two bars, Malibu and Happy Days 2. Malibu has a traditional Spanish feel to it and has live music from 8pm nightly. The food at Malibu is also of a satisfactory standard. The drinks were also exceptional value, 2 for 1 until 11pm, and as the drinks were exceptionally cheap anyway, 2 euro for a pint of larger, 3 euro for a very large spirit and mixer, you can safely say you will be in holiday mode in no time whatsoever. Next door is the British bar Happy days 2. While more expensive than its neighbour the live entertainment made up for it.
During the week we were treated to shows like Grease, Saturday Night Fever, the Blues Brothers and many other shows such as live stand up.

Great Entertainment every Night and I could even watch the Football in a great Sports Bar on the Complex.
