| said: We stayed half board and were disappointed with the food. There was little choice, and nothing was labelled so you didn't really know what you were eating. Breakfasts were better than dinner- just. Also the dining room was being refurbished during our stay making it crammped and dark.
The communial areas of hotel were spotless, the room was cleaned daily and very clean.
The hotel is a couple of minutes walk downhill to the beautiful marina and close to the 24 hour square ( not that close if you don't like that sort of thing. Shops, bars, supermarkets all very close.
Hotel staff were friendly and all over 50 - not suprising at this time of year.
Typical entertainment Spanish singers.
I would visit this hotel again but would not stay half board. I have stayed in better, but I have stayed in worse.Overall a little disapointing, but ok for the money we paid for a short break.

| said: When we arrived at the hotel we were next to a building site. We asked to move rooms but had to pay to upgrate to a junior suite.
This room was positioned much better but at the weekend did become noisy in the early hours of the morning due to people coming from the marina.
The food on the whole was okay, we are vegetarians and it was better than other hotels in spain we have stayed in. Their was only one night that the vegetarian option was quite poor.
Breakfast was good with lots of choice and variety
The staff were all very friendly and the hotel did have a 'friendly' feeling about it

| said: Location
The hotel is situated just behind the very modern and really beautiful marina, which has lots of shops, bars etc, and is just a few minutes walk away.
Rooms on one side look over the garden and pool area which are really beautiful and have a good side sea view but get little sun apart from first thing in the morning.
Alternatively the other side, which has sun for most of the day and also has a good side sea view, runs along the side of a road. The road, although not very heavily used by traffic, is well used by people on their way home from a night out at the marina’s bars and can be quite noisy till well into the early morning. We used ear plugs so were not too bothered by this, but I would think that in the middle of summer, this could be more of a problem.
The back of the hotel currently looks onto a building site where a new apartment block is being build, so will be also be noisy and has no sea view.
Accommodation
The hotel is a typical 3* Spanish Hotel, with clean & tidy rooms, which have satellite TV including english speaking channels Sky News, BBC World & CNN.
The rooms themselves are a little on the small size in the bathrooms, but are otherwise well maintained and were attended to daily by the maids with bedding changed several times a week.
Food
We stayed on a half board basis and had no complaints about the food. Breakfast had lots of choice from cereals to full cooked meals, was also well presented and provided something for all tastes.
Evening meals were also good with lots of choice, catering for all including vegetarians, and it was always nice and hot and regularly topped up so nothing seemed to run out.
Staff
The staff were all ok with us, no one was rude. They did however take two days to arrange a room change for us, as we wanted to move to a room, which was sunny in the afternoon, rather that one overlooking the pool and garden area which we had originally asked for.
Entertainment
This was, I have to say, a bit on the poor side. Usually there was just the in-house staff doing bingo, quiz’s etc. They did their best, but it was not very entertaining, and most guests tended to go out to the local bars or like us when to another hotel for the night.
Only when there was a large intake of Spanish guests was a special entertainer provided, and then it was usually just a girl singing mainly Spanish dance music.
Only one night during the whole two weeks was something special provided, and that was just the typical ‘Flamenco Night’, which you usually see on any Spanish holiday.
Would we use it again?
Probably not, because of the road noise and the poor entertainment. We do intend to have another holiday in Balamadina because the Marina is really beautiful, the area generally has lots to do and see, with good bus and train services, and the promenades and beaches look really clean and well maintained.

We found this hotel to be excellent.
Very clean.
The food was extremly good, very nicely presented buffet.
The location is good too, it can be noisy on Fridays and Saturdays if your room is facing the road, having said that our room got the afternoon sun so that was lovely and we had a great side sea view.
Staff were very pleasant.
The pool area was good and very refreshing to go down after breakfast and be able to get a sunbed a few people did put towels out but we always got beds and a parasol.
The room was good and the air con was very efficient.
Not much entertainment at this hotel but we always went out after dinner.
We would definitely stay at this hotel again.

| said: The location is excellent a short but steep walk to the marina downhill, a 60 yard uphill walk to the main road shops bars and the bus stop.
The hotel food is adequate at best i.e. fish and chips with green beens festival night no paella.
Public spaces are clean and tidy the pool area and gardens are very well maintained some off the recliners are past there best, hotel staff ok.
Evening entertainment appalling high spot of the week a parrot show get my drift.
If you come to this hotel make sure your room is on the inside has there is building work next door, we never heard a thing on the inside. At the weekend it can get noisy another reason to be on the inside.
I would not bother going there again.

| said: We visited the Palmasol in January 2006.
The food was good buffet style.
The indoor pool was great but only open 10am-2pm.
The location was good only 30 metres from Benalmadena Marina. Although it was a steep hill down to it.
The entertainment was poor geared to the elderly clientele in the hotel at this time. Most facilities in the resort were open and we had a couple of trips to Benalmadena Pueblo a lovely village only 20 mins by bus and Malaga 30 mins by train and only 3 euros return it was well worth a full day visit.

| said: We went to H10 Palmasol for a week, booked for half board basis.
Room was clean and basic, location of hotel good.
The pool area was nice but sunbeds were very dirty and really well worn.
Reception staff were not at all friendly, dining room staff and waiters were ok, got the impression they had our money so who cares! No please, thanks and very few smiles.
We paid for half board but after first couple of nights in dining room we opted to eat out. Choice and quality of food was very poor.
Evening entertainment was a joke, really bad it was either crazy bingo or a cheesy talent show with the guests as stars!!!!

The room we were given was occupied by an unhappy guest who hated his room so they were moving him to our allocated room. After refusing to accept his room we were given one in an awful position.

| said: We had a very enjoyable week here at the Palmasol. The quality of food was, in our opinion, slightly better than the average for a three star hotel.
The location was good for the marina area. The room was a good average, the only crtisism being the design of the bathroom, i.e. the toilet was cramped at the side of the wash basin, larger people would have difficulty actually managing to sit on the toilet in those circumstances.
The hotel staff were very pleasant and helpful, the bar prices were not that much more expensive than the bars outside. The nightly entertainment was only average though and the bar area was smoky at times.
We would stay here again in the future, it was very reasonable value for money.

| said: The hotel is spotless and in a great location. However if you get a room at the front of the hotel there is an unacceptable level of street noise.
The hotel food was good quality but too plain. If you like chicken and chips or roast beef then is for you, not if you like anything with a bit of flavour.
Hotel entertainment is live singers, bingo or quizes.
Reception staff are rude and unfriendly, most likely due to the queue of people every morning asking to be moved from the front of the hotel.

The hotel was excellent, with a good choice of food, cleanliness exceptionally good, we were there at the beginning of the school holidays the only area i would fault is the entertainment every evening was very much the same either quiz/bingo followed by singers i have never taken part in a quiz evening that only had a few questions, but saying that there was some very good entertainment in the pub facing and in the surronding area.

| said: We found the H10 palmasol to be an excellent, top standard hotel. The hotel was clean, tidy and a beautiful, wonderful suprise. A maid service was every day,and they did their job excellently. The rooms were simple, but pratical and comfortable enough with a large bathroom and balcony.
The food was absolutely fabulous!!! We were spoilt for choice of top quality dishes every night, the food was always hot and fresh. Breakfast was also good, with plenty of variety - both hot and cold choices.
The location of the hotel is very central, at the bottom of the road is the marina and beach and at the top is the main night life 24 hour square, although this can be very noisy all night long. The pool is lovely with a poolside bar and set in beautiful gardens. The staff weren't overly friendly but did their jobs well. One bar was not open but there was a pleasant one were u can sit inside or out aswell as the pool bar. The night time entertainment needs improving, but as the hotel is so near other bars and clubs this ws not an issue. All in all, the hotel was incredible. a lovely suprise and you can't go wrong.

| said: We booked this as a late deal. It was an Easter weekend break, allocated on arrival and was fantastic. The hotel is only rated as 3-star but was easily equivalent to any 4-star that I have stayed in. Location was excellent although our room overlooked the road adjacent to the main entrance and it was pretty noisy but for 3 nights it didn't make a major impact on our stay. Very clean, surprisingly upmarket, we would go back again. The food was OK - breakfasts better than evening meals but saying that we're quite fussy so take that as you will! Plenty of places to eat out if you prefer althought the Marina, although beautiful, could be quite pricey.
