Only paid £600 for two adults all inclusive, which works out cheaper than self catering (we would have to pay under occupancy). Food was adequate but we mainly only used the hotel as a base. Good location taxi back at night about 5 euros from the centre of Playa de las Americas. Very good value for money. Going back to this hotel in March. You can pay a lot more for half board and the drinks in many of the hotels are very expensive. Get out and about and visit other places on the island. Entertainment catered for all ages. Paella and Sangria making demonstrations, dog shows, comedian, tribute groups, etc.

Hi Just came back had a lovley time!
Nice hotel but people got to realise its not a 5* hotel.
The food was fine if you love chips! lol!Restaurant is lovley and clean but not much variety. Dont eat the hot dogs by the pool bar.
The Entertainment is very good every day of the year there is a proffesional show!Pool is lovley very cold water but lovely !
I went in December and it was boiling 28degrees !
The rooms were very clean and the top floors have all been done out !
Only 1 problem is that all inclusive stopped at 11pm so you couldnt buy drinks unless you payed
Iwould stay at this hotel again.

This is a 3* Hotel, Where the food is o.k. the evening entertainment is mostly great, the acommodation is average and the staff are very pleasent, ( except for 1, the only rude waiter bloke, and guess what... he's a Brit! .
The Hotel is situated on a hill and believe me it is NOT suited for people who have walking difficulties.
By the way This is a 3* Hotel, not a 4 or 5, but a 3* hotel.
You pay for a bargain holiday hotel, and it is just what you get.
I went with my 60 year old Mum-in-Law & My 3 year old daughter Zoe and we had a GREAT time.
would I go Back? the answer is Yes.
If you want a change from the All-inclusive then SOUL CITY is a great place to eat and drink cheaply for all the family.
Dont believe all the bad things you read in reviews, people sometimes expect more, after all...This is a 3* Hotel...Get my point! Thanks to all who made my 3yr old Zoe so happy, and to all her 'Boy Friends'.

I going to be honest, this hotel may be suited for some. But I am miserable lol :) well not exactly I just get what I want or I moan.

If u go as a couple dont expect a double bed dont happen over there I had this problem moved to another room where they said there was a double bed and guess what 2 single beds. Hotel rooms are lovely balcony walls could do with a little paint work.

OK here is where I moan, food = rubbish. Everything in sauces, I am a fussy thing though lol. It was cold, not much option. Vegetarians dont go here mostly meat.

Drinks were fine :d

Cats are lovely except the black one he is vicious, they are cute I fed them and proud to as they are hungry they belong to the hotel by the way.

Area hilly, pain in arse to walk up the hill every day but oh well I laugh about it now and my legs are more toned :) great exercise

Entertainment is a little rubbish at times but so is everywhere, there's so much on near by who cares.

Maids were OK for first week when we left them tips but then 3 days running no towels, no toilet paper and no bin changed. I had to ask in reception.

Reception staff were rude to me did not like the fact he shouted at me as I said I was fed up of coming to him to complain over towels.

I am 18 years old and go on many holidays and I have to say I had a great time but I would not stay in this hotel again.

Go for it tho it is cheap and we were hardly in hotel except for bed, shower and to change. Food near by is so cheap 3 euro for full breakfast, 8 euro for steak and chips you cant moan can you.

Go to Chaplin's restaurant its fantastic

And you footy fans football bar is great every match even those 3pm ones.

I'm 20, I stayed at the Caledonia Park in September last year with my boyfriend who is the same age, I thought the hotel was really good and excellent value for money.

Restaurant Food- The food in my opinion is good when you consider how many guests the hotel has to cater for and its all fresh, it does start to get a bit samey after a while but there are some nice restaurants in the surrounding area if you start to get bored with the food.

Snack bar food- Not as good as the restaurants obviously but the ice creams and toasties are nice.

Location- Right oposite the main water park which is good (but expensive), I must admit it is a bit of a nightmare climbing up the hill to the hotel after a walk but excersise is always good when you've over eaten lol.

All in all I think the Caledonia Park is a good value for money hotel I went once before this in 2000 with my parents and am going back for a week in april for my boyfriends birthday and am really looking forward to it.

please dont listen to the bad coments on here your holidays is what you make it!
this is a really nice place to stay we were in room 622 (newly refrubed) and had a lovely roof balconey over looking the aqua park the maids came in everyday (except sunday)there was always clean towels and bed sheets were changed about 3 times a week. the pool area was cleaned every night. as for the food yes you do get chips at every meal but you dont have to have them!!!!!! for breakfast lunch and dinner there was always plenty to chose from , my daughter was only 3 and she is a picky eater but she ate well as did my husband and i.
the staff are freindly and very helpful.
people were complaining that you can only get two alcoholic drinks at a time i didnt see the problem as i would go to the bar get a martini malibu and a coke and i couldnt carry anymore but you can go to the bar as much as you want so wheres the problem i think some people just like complaining!!!
as for the entertainment chris and diego were fantastic from 8pm theres quiz bingo kid mini disco were chris teachs kids and diego moves to songs then outside entertainment comes in which is good laugh be warned if your afraid of snakes dont go to that show i got draged up and a huge snake put round my neck and yes chris im still shaking!! they also do crap shirt night battle of the sexes men v women and plenty more.. all in all we had a brill holiday and would go back there so chris watch out big box little box will be back!!!!!!

Caledonia park- where do you start. this hotel goes from one extreme to the other. The rooms were plenty big enough as was the balcony which was huge, we were in room 533, the bathroom was disgusting- rust all over the bath no shower head. The kitchen area was also in a state of dis-repair, but all this negativesaid, it was liveable for 2 weeks.
The pool area was cleaned every morning and the pool every night. This area was lovely, the pool was a bit on the small side for the size of the hotel and if you wanted a sun lounger you needed to be waitin by 8.30 to make sure you got one and somewhere to put it.
The restaurant again was too small for the size of the hotel.
The food was absolutly disgusting most meats were in a sauce and any that wasn't was like leather. After a week of trying to get the kids to eat what the hotel called food we started to go to the local pubs and restaurants to have a decent meal.
The hotel entertainment was amazing chris, diego and zoe started at 8pm with quiz, bingo, kids mini disco and then most nights outside entertainment which was usually really good. then chris would d.j again till 11pm. kids enjoyed entertainment as much as tha adults. All in all we had a fab holiday but if you asked would i go back to caledonia park- Definatly not.

I dont know where to start with this hotel it was amasing to me and my family

The room is allways clean the maids came in everyday. yes we saw 2 cock roaches but it took us 5 minuites to get rid of no big deal really. And the staff cant do much about it its nature.

The hotel food is nothing special but its not that bad if your only going for a week theres alot to chose from and you can get food at pretty much anytime

The location is good the view is nice to look at.
its a little noisey but you wouldnt really notice unless you decided to search for every little wrong thing in the hotel.

The staff are good they do there job and did serve you with a smile and they gladly make convosation as long as you start it and your not making a huge line for the bar

The entertainment was amasing i think that if you want to have fun then the entertainment will be good but if your not going to put the effort in then the entertainment staff cant do there job
But Chris & Diego (the DJ's) are halarious they are there in the afternoon to play foot ball match's, tennis, ping pong, basket ball, sqaush and play music during the day if your getting bored of laying around the pool
As for the night time entertainment its great Chris & diego play music host a fun quiz and do bingo (could win over 300 euro's) they are very chatty and very funny theres kids disco where Chris & diego teach the kids to do actions to the songs which can be funny
After thats passed the main show of the night comes on which was snake man, hyponosis, magic show, battle of the sex's (men vs women), singer, kareoke and a crap shirt compotitoin all the shows were great and with out the entertainment it wouldnt be worth goin but its well worth going

I wanted to stay for 1 more week because i think 1 week just isnt enough you need 2
So i would love to go back and cant wait until i do go back when ever thats going to be

the food in this hotel needs plenty of thought going into it. there were no vegeterian dishes unless you like salads every meal.very little choice for the kids and all meat dishes are in sauces.if you like chips you will love it here, because they are served at every meal time including breakfast.the hotel was cleaned everyday by the cleaners, although our room 530 was cleaned everyday the bed sheets only got changed twice in 2 weeks.there is a very steep hill going down to the strip defo a taxi ride back.the best thing in this hotel was the entertainment team chris, diego & zoe, but for them our holiday would not have been what is was.if you go for 14 days be prepared to take extra money with you to eat out at local restaruants.for those of you with a sense of humour ask chris to play you the yogi bear song, very funny but perhaps not what you want the kids to sing at school

myself and my two children stayed at the Caladonia for 2 weeks. First time in Tenerife so wasnt sure what to expect. Our room was situated on the 3rd floor at the very end of the hotel ground, right in front of a very busy duel carriageway!!The traffic noise was constant what ever time of day or night. Secondly if your a big lover of chips you wont mind them for breakfast!! because that is whats on offer... The staff never look happy taking your plate from under your nose before you've had chance to chew the 'so called' edible food. The entertainment consists of 10 min quiz, bingo , kids disco!( well all of 15mins worth) and for the finale at 10pm a bloke with a snake or a 60's singing crooner!!!And no i wouldn't stay at this hotel again although Tenerife itself was a lovely place i'm sure theres better places to stay

We all stayed on all inclusive basis, the breakfasts were very poor in choice and quality, other meals were equally as bad even the packed lunches we had for days out were inedible. The only food any of us ate were the poolside bar snacks except the hot dogs!!!!!

The drinks were low quality local but that is what you must expect in a 3 star hotel.Staff were friendly enough but even they would comment about the quality of the food, rooms were recently refurbished and were excellent, cleaner came every day except sunday. Entertainment was good fun, although beware of the yogi bear song with younger children.

Would definitely not stay at this hotel again only because of the food.

After reading some of the horror stories on Holiday Truths about this hotel we were a bit concerned about going to stay there all inclusive. In fact we did seriously consider cancelling the holiday at one point. On our arrival there we still felt very concerned about staying at the Caledonia.
However on our arrival we were greeted by a friendly receptionist and given our room on level 6. It was a bit of a trek up to the room but we managed it. The room itself was clean and tidy and was cleaned most days of the week. Although they did not take out any of the rubbish (empty water containers etc) that we placed in plastic bags under the sink.
The bed linen on arrival was for 3 people but there was 4 in our family. We made do with that the first night and reported it the following day, additional linen was put in our room later that day. Not exactly sure how many times the linen or towels were changed as we think they only changed linen/towels when they were dirty. We think the linen was changed at least 3 times and the towels more than 5 times.
As this was our first all inclusive hotel we had not a lot to go on. The food was basic stuff, quick and easy to prepare. Yes they had chips on offer for every meal including breakfast but more choice besides chips. The choice was varied but limited in variety and not that much on offer for young children. After the first week it got boring but still eatable. Snacks were available at the poolside between meal times. Soft drinks and alcohol was available until 11pm at night.
For the best part the staff were helpful although not all had smiles on their faces.
Entertainment was on most of the day at the poolside and every night until 11pm.
We did not expect meals as served in expensive restaurants, but a bit more variety would have been nice. That said we did eat in hotel every day and as our children are used to eating more than chips every day it suited us well.
The poolside was in need of some repair, there was sometimes a smell at snack bar end, but work on the poolside we believe is to happen shortly.
There were a lot of cats about but we did not see that many cockroaches, anyone who visits Tenerife knows that cockroaches are plentiful on the island. Been in many hotels in Tenerife and they all have cockroaches wandering about more so at night.
The entertainment kept the children amused during the day and at night, they enjoyed it.
Overall and bearing in mind that the holiday itself was cheap and the Caledonia only a 3+ star rating it was good value for the money. Most people we spoke to enjoyed their stay there but would have liked more variety with the food.
We enjoyed our holiday there and would consider going back again. A very special thanks to chris and zoe who were absolutely brill with the kids!

arrived on the 26th june 07, for 2 weeks, read reports and was a bit worried, arrived mid afternoon and given rooms 506 and 507, rooms where really nice better than expected, hotel really clean maids cleaned everyday apart from sundays, food in resturant was a bit bland would have been ok for 1 week but not 2 !!and not much choice for kids. snack bar was to say a bit sad, chips where always under cooked best snack is the toasties, don't eat the hot dogs really bad !! the bar staff where friendly if you where friendly with them ask them to smile and they will !! pool was fab and plenty of sunbeds, entertainment was very good for the kids always plenty to do, not very good for adults in the evening so the local bars where a better option. the hotel is opposite aqua park and in a good spot, but set on a hill so not good for the less mobile. seen 4 cockroaches in 2 weeks, but they do have a problem with cats seen at least 10 different ones. the drinks where good but did stop serving at 11 and they move you from the poolside at 11.30 !!
all in all you pay for what you get would stay in the hotel again but not as all-inclusive !!

Please ignore the bad comments. Me and my best friend went away for our 21st and the holiday was amazing.

The hotel was spotless we always saw cleaners out and about. We were given room 648 and thankfully it has been redecorated. The room was very spacious. First time I have ever been in an all inclusive hotel that provide you a cooker, fridges and cutlery (and i have stayed in many all inclusive hotels)

Maid was in every day, clean towels, rubbish taken out, everything lifed from the floor (you know how messy we girls can be)

Food was as expected. Soup, salad, pasta, meat. There was enough to do you for a week.

The drinks were really good we were drinking vodka, lemonade and blackcurrent and although we could not taste the vodka it was def there.

Location was ideal for us but definitely not for thse with walking problems. Hotel was the first hotel on the hill and right across from the water park.

We ate out twice - Harleys Amazing!!!!!!!!! and the Ship 3 course for 10.50 euros cant complain.

All in all we had a fab time staff were excellent especially Chris with Mini disco (my fav time) and the bingo. we won 180 euros not bad at all.

My advise is that at the moment refurb is going on we heard nothing so if you are not happy with your room ask to be moved to the 6th floor pref 630 - 649. Hotel will be class when the refurb has finished and we had a ball.

Book the hotel at the end of the day a holiday is only what you make it and you cant expect to pay 2 or 3 star prices for a 5 star hotel!!!

Enjoy I would definitely stay in this hotel again.

I travelled to Caledonia with my boyfriend and after reading reviews we were nervous of what to expect. The reviews were so mixed one could be excellent and the next could be diabolical, this sums the hotel up. I think it really is luck of the draw and it all depends on your room and time of year you go. Personally I found the hotel ok, not the best by any means but you get what you pay for. We got this holiday really cheap so we weren't expecting the Hilton! I think a lot of people who write these reviews are fussy and at the end of the day if you got this holiday really cheap what more do you expect.

The hotel itself is basic, its your average bog standard 3 star Spanish hotel (to be honest it is on the lower end of 3 star), it's clean enough.

Our room was quite high up (602) but for a young couple this was no problem in fact it was quite fun walking up them after one to many bevy's!

Our room was again basic but comfortable, the view was ok the sea and pool area. The room was a little outdated and yes the bathroom was a little rusty and not the nicest and there was a small dent in the bedroom door and you could see where they had tried to cover it up in white plaster, I can see why people would find this off putting but as a young couple this really didn't bother us. Shower was ok, we both managed to get showers that were hot, it did cut off once, not very nice when you have got a head full of shampoo!

Staff were very friendly, can't fault them one bit. Always friendly and very efficient especially in the dining room. The hotel staff here put some serious hours in so you could forgive them for being a little grumpy but they really were friendly.

I can't really comment on the food because I'm not the best eater and I never like hotel food, my boyfriend liked it and always tucked into a plateful. There was a bit of variety and yes there was always chips and pasta (pasta at every meal just in different sauces)but at the end of the day they have to cater for many and have to include 'neutral' dishes what more people may like. I ate more than I thought it really wasn't that bad, I must admit it did get repetitive and I don't think I could have coped with 2 weeks of it. In the end I felt like I was eating the same for tea as what I had ate for lunch. My solution to this though to all you moaners out there is stop being stingy and take a night off and treat yourself to a meal in a restaurant, your on your hols so treat yourself. Me and my boyfriend did this one night. We went for a Chinese (Mandarin next to Planet Football, really good and not badly priced, get free wine to) All in all the food is edible, it is repetitive but when you're eating in the same place for 7 or 14 nights then it's bound to get a bit repetitive. The snack bar at the pool is ok, hot-dogs and pizzas not the nicest but quite tasty and edible.

Drinks at the pool bar are good, you get real coke and fanta etc rather than the cheap stuff, biscuits and little cakes are served at around 4. Local spirits are just as good, sometimes tho the alcoholic drinks are very strong, some may see this as a good thing and at first we did but some were that strong we had to order a soft drink to mix ourselves. If you ask the waiters tho they will make it less strong for you.

The entertainment bar is ok, we only stayed in twice to watch the entertainment and from what we saw it was really good, Chris the guy who does it tries really hard and the kids all seemed to be entertained. Bingo and quiz were at bout 8 then followed by guest appearances. All in all seemed quite lively and fun. There is another bar upstairs which seemed rather tranquil and more sophisticated. Both bars were good and the atmosphere is good.

The pool area is good and quite spacious, the pool itself is big and really refreshing, I read on one review someone complaining that it was too cold, seriously some people will complain about anything. It's a good pool and a good pool area.

It is true that there are a few random cats strolling around, its not that nice but its hardly what I would call an epidemic. It's not extreme and they just sort of wonder round, you soon blank them out. This really isn't a fault of the hotel, if the guests stop feeding them then maybe they would go away. Cats in hotels is quite common in these countries and I went to Cyprus last year and it was ten time worse so it really wasn't that bad.

In the whole week I only saw 2 cockroaches in the room, they were tiny ones and there were never any in the room. Not exactly traumatic. There were a few on the balcony and I swear I saw one the size of my hand one night walking home a bit tiddly!! Again this is not the hotels fault. cockroaches are all over Tenerife, its not just this hotel.

Personally I thought the hotel had quite a good location, then again I am saying that as a 20 year old, if I had kids it may be different. It is on a slightly steep hill but it really isn't that bad. The hill itself is short and it only takes a minute to walk down, then you're right at the bars and shops. The hotel is right near the water park and I mean right near, 2 minute walk across the road. The hotel is near a busy road so if you have got kids then be careful but that's just common sense, its a one way street as well so you only have to look one way. Personally I like a hotel where you can have a little stroll to the bars.

The hotel is making a big effort to be better and there was some building work while we were there, if you're going any time soon then it may still be going on, please don't be put off by this, not as bad as it seems and it's for our, the guests, benefit after all.

Some rooms did look like they had bad views but I can't really comment on these, I can only go off our room which was reasonable.

Overall, this hotel really isn't that bad, it's not the nicest and it is a little outdated. I have stayed in many nicer hotels than this. One thing I liked is it was really mixed in terms of guests, anything from couples to families with children to stag do's, no agro and it was a good atmosphere.

If you have read some bad reviews. then don't worry, at the end of the day its all down to opinion and trust your own instant, any if u have got complaints try speaking to reception or ur rep they may actually be able to help rather than just jumping to conclusions.

I enjoyed my stay at this hotel and although some of my comments are negative i really haven't got any complaints, for the same price that i paid i would definitely go back to this hotel.

There are so many fussy people who write these reviews, at the end of the day, ur on ur hols, as long as theres sun, sea, sand, sangria and a cold pool to jump into then what is there really to complain about? Its a good hotel that is decent and worth what u pay for.

TIPS- go to planet football at the bottom of the hill, its great. If u go to Veronica's don't pay more than 8 euro thats all it should be (Veronica's is a great night out recommend linekars to) if u haven't got transfers like us then ur looking at about 25 euros each way from the airport, not that bad. its about 20 mins and miles quicker than a coach.
SHORTCUT TO BEACH- walk from hotel down the hill, where planet football is, keep walking where on ur right u will see O'Reilly's walk to it and there is a path right next to it leads you to shops and bars and steps to beach, lovely area really nice for walks and a cold beer in the day plenty of shops and nice bars/restaurants.

ENJOY UR HOLIDAY!

Arrived about 4am and greeted by a friendly receptionist. Given room 910 (up 33 steep steps),as we walked along the passage way to the room it became clear we were approaching a building site. The balcony of the apartment overlooked a filthy, smelly, disgustng building site, made worse by the major road works underneath the hotel building works.

The apartment had been recently modernised but was in need of a decent clean (maid did 'visit' all she did was move the dust and dirt to another place in the room!) Only three of us in this two bedroom apartment, but only one of us could have a hot shower, water refused to heat after one very quick shower. Had problem with visiting cockroaches and ants (spoke to Reception who gave us a spray).

Food was dreadful. Husband will eat virtually anything and even he struggled to eat the daily slop! Most acceptable food was the crisps (given out for about 2 mins each evening). Spent most nights eating out.

Hotel staff were mainly helpful and two barmen did their best to keep the queue at the pool bar to a minimum (wouldn't fancy your chances though in high season.)

Do not stay in this hotel it is a complete waste of money!

I'll start by saying this Hotel is in Adeje opposite the Aquapark.

Oh my god !!!!

Firstly, the pictures on the net?? Where have they taken those from??? Not from this hotel.

Well what can we say !?!?!?! We arrived at about 2ish in the afternoon and went to reception to check in. We were partly greeted by some man behind the counter who was not welcoming or friendly at all.

After having to deal with his warm, enthusiastic, friendly, caring personality he gave us our room key and off we went.

We were given room 137, a ground floor room looking out onto the grassed park area. We opened the door and OH DEAR !! It reminded me of that episode of One Foot In The Grave when they went to Portugal? - it was disgusting, the bathroom was dirty, no shower head, the toilet didn't work properly and it was filthy throughout. Now first impressions count and this really wasn't a good start.

So we went back to the reception cases in hand and were given room 905, up a load of steps but hey ho, we didn't mind a bit of excersie, in fact it overlooked the Aquapark and we could see the Dolphins.
Now this room had been newly refurbished but was just alright, nothing brilliant.

Anyway unpacked and down to pool area for some snacks and drinks, drinks were OK, Cola, lemonade etc etc but thepool side snack bar was a joke, the hot dogs were foul with stale rolls, the sandwiches were pathetic and i asked for a vegatarian sandwich for my wife - and he handed me 2 slices of bread with - get this, a piece of lettuce, a piece of tomato and some onion on!!!!!!!! HELLO !!!! Prisoners eat better.

Well, a long story short is (deep breath) if you are a vegetarian, if you have some standards, if you're over 7 years old and want some night entertainment, if you're seeking good accommodation, if you want to eat some decent food (apart from chips) DO NOT GO HERE!!

The place is a dive, the view of the Aquapark is the best thing about this hotel, oh sorry AND the coffee.

We spent over £700 staying out of the hotel it was that bad.

Do not go to the Caledonia Park in Adeje its awful.

we went to this hotel in feb for my partners birthday. when we arrived our room was not ready so we had to wait over 1 hour. the room was stadard 1 bedroom our little girl had to sleep on the sofa. you do get a little kitchenette in your room which is equiped with a fridge which was handy. there was three floors to main hotel a lower bar top bar and restrautant was on the middle floor. the food was very english lots of meat and veg. very good choice of puddings for the sweet tooth. only problem i did have was the bar serve sandwiches at night free but the sandwich i picked up and was going to eat was covered in ants on inside of the sandwich there had been a hole in the cling film so they vestered inside.
my advice is if you get the sandwiches check them before you eat them.
our hotel was next to the rubbish bin which let out a horrible smell on the last 3 days of our holiday so our room smelt like bad farts for 3 days we did not complain because our room was on of the newly refurbished ones and we couldn't be bothered to pack to have to unpack again. air freshner helped.
overall we would go back to resort but would try a different hotel.
there are cheap as chips meals on the beach front seven pounds for a three course which includes steak

We went to this hotel for Christmas from 21 to 28 dec 2006 we had and brill time.

Our room was lovely 636 and we had a great big roof top balcony.

The food was fine it wasn't brilliant but there was a different meal every day and you could always get something you wouldn't go hungry.

The staff were very friendly and helpful and the kids enjoyed the entertainment.

The hotel wasn't too far from the town not good for people in wheelchairs but good exercise for us. There was know problems geting taxis.

Was very worried after reading reviews on this hotel but I needn't have been. All inclusive was great - all the food and drink we wanted.

We were in 411 - 17 steps up! Wasn't too bad - good exercise. Maid came in every day (except Sunday). We saw only 2 cockroach in room which reception gave us some spray for. Pool area was clean and tidy.

Food was pretty good - got a bit same-ish towards the end of the week but was plentiful and lots to choose from.

Located at the top of 'Cardiac Hill' - fine to walk down and cheap in a taxi to get back up. Opposite Aqualand - great day out. Keep legs crossed on Kamikaze!! Deffo go on the boomerang!

Beaches were clean and not very far away. Taxi's always prompt when ordered by reception. Easy to flag down to get back up the hill.

Reception staff were very helpful. Dan our rep was great throughout our stay. Chris and Matt kept us laughing both during the day and the evenings.

Entertainment was mostly good. Avril Taylor is HILARIOUS! Saw her 3 times around the resort. Won bingo twice in the hotel too.

Would definitely return - a good value all inclusive holiday. Our whole family enjoyed it.

Well first thing is this hotel is not a 3 star.

When we arrived, we arrived with other tour group. Check in took about 45mins. Then we eventually got to the front of the queue. The receptionist checked our papers, realised we weren't with a travel group and gave us room 104. believe me if you get allocated room 104, I wouldn't even bother moving from reception, because you will just be back to reception when you see the state of the room. We were then allocated a semi decent room, and just stayed there for a week.

The food at the resort is not good at all, we ate out most of the time.

To conclude the hotel is dated, staff very rude, and food is inedible

To be honest, the hotel was absolutely spot on for 12 very thirsty rugby lads. We had an absolute scream here.

The only down side to the hotel was the food. If you like Pork and Beef then you are ok. Apart from that the evening meal left a lot to be desired but you can get by.

The best part is the alcohol. 2 drinks at a time (the equivalent of about half a bottle of vodka per carry!!). Can not fault the generosity in the servings. I have been on all inclusive before where you can hardly taste the alcohol!

The 2 entertainment staff were absolutely brilliant and worked hard all day to ensure that the kids (and kids at heart) had a lot of fun. Minidisco was brilliant.

We apologise for any excessive noise made around the pool but hey, we were on holiday!! And to think that we had nearly the whole pool playing "bogies" was a joy.

Would definitely recommend going here. The only reason that people say the place is dirty is because ignorant people do not put THEIR rubbish in the bin!!

Book it!!

After reading the reviews on here I got very worried that we had made a huge mistake about booking this place! I was so wrong!

As soon as we got from the airport we were made to feel very welcome, we were a little early so we was given our wristbands and was told we could go and have a drink or something to eat until our room was ready! We went back fifteen mins early to get our room sorted out and the travel agents had made a mistake in the name booking but it was not a problem and we were given our room key and of we went!

Our room was situtated on the left handside of the pool room 412, yes it did have steps to our room but we are two fit and healthy young girls who dont mind a bit of exercise, after all it was all inclusive and didnt want to get fat lol!

Our room was lovely ten times better than expected, very clean and we had our own upstairs sun terrace, and a bath which was great during the holiday! the room alson contained self catering fascilities if we did not want to eat in the restaurant, also had a fridge!

The hotel food was ok and plentiful, im a very fussy eater, very much a plain jane so when it comes to the food no good asking me, my friend enjoyed it though and tried most of the different dishes at night, there was planty of fruit, fresh juices to drink and the waiters work very hard cleaning up after everyone!

The hotel is located just outside playa, but is literally a 5/10 minute walk to playa and 15 mins to starco and veronicas strip where all the night life is, if you dont fancy the walk its 2 mins in a taxi so not far at all! it is also situated right opposite the water park which is great if you want to go there!

The hotel staff were all very friendly and always smiling to say the long hours everyone puts in, the maids did come twice in a week, changed towels and bedding which was nice to get a clean towel!

The entertainment what can i say, it was very good they had different entertainers in at night to perform a show, elvis, avril taylor, the poodles that did tricks, everything was very good, they have a kids club, where one of the animation team took care of them during the day and at night while adults could relax. there was a quiz, bingo, kids mini disco, adult games, drinking games, all in all very good, hi to chris who worked his pants off the whole week we was there until another one of team turned up on our last night to give him a break! He really worked the crowd, and is very cute to!

We never saw a cockroach at all in our rooms while we stayed there, only time we saw any was when we walked out at night to go to the clubs, I love this place and tenerife and will definitly visit again!

Dont forget to visit Planet Football the bar accross the bridge! great bunch of guys, and cheap drinks to if you get a card of chris! some brilliant singers in there simon cowell would not no what had hit him lol

Thanks everyone at Caledonia Park, we had a great stay!!!!!!!!

Well what can I say about the Caledonia Park Hotel? In 25 years we have been lucky enough to visit many countries and spent time in many very different hotels. However, this is by far the worst hotel (if you can call it that) we have ever had to stay in.

Where shall I start....

We were travelling with a 5 month old baby and requested a ground floor apartment. On arrival we were given room 534 which was far from what was expected. Having viewed the hotel pictures of the accommodation we were disgusted with what we were confronted with. Bearing in mind we had a buggy, to get to our front door we had to clamber up a set of stairs. The bedroom was infested with cockroaches and ants and the bathroom was unfit to clean pigs! Having informed the reception immediately we were told that we couldn't change rooms as the hotel was full and they would send somebody to the room to sort out any problems. This never happened!

The food I can only describe as inedible and having paid all inclusive prices we had to eat out breakfast, lunch and dinner making our holiday even more expensive than first expected.

The staff was rude and arrogant.
This hotels only saving grace was the other guests in the hotel and we all had to make a bad situation good! Although the entertainment was satisfactory the music was played too loud.

Having forwarded our complaints to our holiday rep and directly to the hotel we were offered nothing in return and at no stage would I consider customer service was given.

I would not recommend this hotel to any person and certainly not to families.
Rating 0/10

Don't do it !!!!!!! This is the worst hotel I've ever stopped in. Its the first time I've gone all inclusive and if thats what you get for 3* then never again!

If you like plastic hot dogs, chips and cockroaches for company then this is the holiday for you. I'm no snob like a lot of people I save up and work hard for a nice holiday.

Don't get me wrong the resort is lovely even though it is a walk to get there in no doubt I would return there, but would definitely choose another hotel!!!

Me and my partner literally only ate breakfast there I wouldn't have fed the rest to my dog!! Also beware....I only went in the pool for 5 minutes when we first arrived and for the rest of the holiday suffered from earache which turned into an infection there were also similar complaints from other guests at the hotel.

If your reading this and thinking "holidays are what you make of them and you can't please everyone" I totally agree and we had a great time.....but for £380 for 7 days basic hygiene and edible food are I think, not too much to ask for!!!

I'm not one of those that stays in posh hotels and complains if the doors creak!(I've been on lasses holidays where if the room had a bed it was a godsend!!) but I do believe you get what you pay for.

If you've already booked then just don't have high expectations. If you haven't booked....run a mile!

We had read the reviews before we went and were quite concerned.

I have to say we were pleasantly surprised. Our room was clean (531) and we had a huge balcony which overlooked the pool.

The snack bar was great although I did suffer with a bad stomach and didn't eat very much from the restaurant. Don't get me wrong the food was good, but my stomach just couldn't take it so I stuck with the snack bar when I could, think its the gravy smell ( but I don't like gravy)

The bar service was great, the staff really friendly.

I would like to thank Matt and the young girk whose name I forget( i'm so sorry) for making our holiday.

We went to Planet Football most nights and had a ablast. My husband even got up on Karaoke for the first time ever ( he's 37!!! and doesn't do singing)

At the end of the day you get what you pay for. I didn't hear anyone complaining whilst we were there and everyone was having a great time.

Firstly can I say that we also read numerous reviews on this hotel prior to going here and would have to agree that this hotel is on the lower end of the scale.

We arrived and were given room 121 (Dont go there) ground floor next to the stage/pool area had a very small patio area which was completely shaded by large bushes, broken table and one chair, really useful for a family of 4.

The apartment was dark, dingy and smelt musty and of urine, mould on walls and no coat hangers in wardrobe. I immediately returned to reception and complained and was thrown a set of keys for a different apartment room 614 whic was of a slightly better standard.

Some of the rooms have been upgraded and when I asked for one of these rooms was told they were all full which was also a joke.

As for the pool are no complaints here, very clean and water nice and warm.

The food in the resturant was ok but not a great choice for the kids, although chips was on the menu at every meal including breakfast.

The poolside snack bar was great for kids had it been open more than a couple of hours a day, opened at 1100 then closed at 1200 re-opened at 1530 until 1700. The bar staff were extremely arrogant towards the children and the rule of only one otem at a time for children was a disgrace. If you wanted a snack and an ice cream the children had to get one then re join the queue. Not really what all inclusive should be.

I have read many reviews regarding the entertainment being fantastic. NOT NOW - There was only 1 lad on his own attempting to oragnise entertainment which was diabolical. The police were called almost every night due to the alleged excessive nosie (louder during the day from the music at the poolside).

All in all the hotel is ok but not wothy of 3 star, if going make the most of it but in all honesty I would look to change hotel if you have the option.

Tenerife is a fantastic holiday resort but the Caledonia Park unfortunately does not live up to its 3 star rating

There is nothing major wrong with this hotel but a multitude of small things that certainly add up. On arrival we were given room 104 which was a disgrace and border-line dangerous. The shutter doors would not open, the kitchen units were ready to collapse and the whole room was dim and musty. On return to reception we were moved, after some insistance, to a refurbished room which was really nice and faced the waterpark ,quite a trek with 2 lifts and loads of steps but well worth it.

The staff there are not exactly friendly and quite often rude and surly and do not expect to relax outside after the evening entertainment has finished as the waiting staff cannot wait to remove the tables and make a point of banging the furniture around to make you more uncomfortable. The same can be said of the dining room (they even switched the lights off as you were eating).

The entertainment was not too bad, the lad tried very hard and did a good job in difficult conditions(comedy Elvis is well worth watching)and as a previous review mentioned he is having a problem with a neighbouring hotel over noise levels which is making it difficult for him.

The whole complex is in need of some tlc and is showing its age and if you dislike cats don't go as the place is full of them (I heard a child got badly scratched by 1 but don't know that for sure but if you have kids just take care as these cats are living wild).

The hotel is up a steep hill and to get into the town you have to cross a few busy junctions so care is needed with kids(don't rely on the cars stopping at crossings as some will and others don't).

Now for the worst part the food, there was very little choice and I spent a lot of money eating out as did a lot of others(one morning there was even roast pork+gravy for breakfast). For chilren there is even less choice unless they want chips for every meal including breakfast. Having said that we had no stomach problems and didn't hear of anyone else suffering.

All in all you can have a decent time there but be prepared,if you can change hotel then I would do so but if not then try not to let it spoil the holiday as there is plenty in the surrounding area to do(for any tickets or excursions see Don outside the Laguna park its cheaper than paying on the gate)

Caledonia park hotel was ok but not all the best. It was very clean. The maids came in to my room everyday to clean and they changed the towels and bedding everyday.

The location was ok if you like staying in a quiet resort away from Playa de las Americas. The Aqua park is just across the road which is great if you have got a few children with you as we did.

The food was ok but as I'm fussy eater I went 2 Ben's bar just up the hill.

I would defo go again as we made really good friends with Matt and Chris which was the entertainers who make the holiday. The entertainment was great as they catered 4 all ages including adults. If you fancy a change after the entertainment then head down to planet football and take your children with you as you can chill out in the bar well the kids can go in to the arcade next door.

Stayed on the 3rd floor room 315, excellent check in, took about 2 minutes if that, towels and bedding changed every day if we wanted, Chris & Carrie entertainment were excellent (finally bought him some new darts on day we were leaving).

Only compaint was the lack of included fans / air con, Pool was great, we were in one of the recently refurbed rooms which were great, must have been lucky as we only had 3 cockroaches on our patio all holiday none in the room whatsoever.

Plastic cups were a bit annoying but all in all excellent holiday. Wish I'd asked for extra pillows but other than that excellent, safe in room is free just had to leave deposit, and also no security I had to leave relating to the room.

Medieval night excellent (from previous holiday) but visited loro parque (gotta see the killer whales) and also Aquapark (visible from hotel, 2 minutes walk).

Having read the reviews on here before travelling, I was uncertain about what to expect!! This was our first holiday 'abroad' so have no comparisons.

On arrival, reception staff were very pleasant and helpful. We were given room 502 wich is spread over 3 levels. All was fine until nightime when a plague of cockroaches descended!!!! The staff came very promptly to spray the room (we had seen at least 8 large cockroaches) and when we informed them that our toddler daughter had asthma - the moved us immediately.

Ended up in room 121 beside the pool - all on the one level-ideal. Bought 3 tins of cockroach spray and used it diligently!!! Only found 1 cockroach a day in our room after that. Apparently, this problem is universal to Tenerife and NOT confined to this hotel.

Generally, the roooms were in need of updating (think butlins 1970's)Towels were only changed twice during our weeks stay - as was bed linen.

Food wise, I have no complaints, there was something for everyone with no long queues and the pool bar for snacks was great!!!

Entertainment was cheesey and repetetive, but still fun!! The entertainment team work very hard to amuse the children, Chris was fantastic and takes a lot of stick - well done to him!!!

As for the rest of the staff, what can I say??? They are all very pleasent and very hard working, they really do their best and a simple 'hola' or 'gracias' goes a long way to earning their respect - especially with children!!

I've noticed a lot of posts mentioning 'the cats' yes, there are a good few cats around but they never bother you and didn't cause me a problem.

A big problem for this hotel is the guests themselves!! Too many people are sooo lazy, they wont even put their empty cups in a bin (of which there are LOADS, which are regularly emptied) therefore, the staff always have a huge clean-up job before the evening entertainment can start, cause the have to clear all this mess up!!

How could the hotel be improved?? For me personally, it needs A/C, a bit of refurbishment and a decent 'pest' control system in place and then yes, I would return.

This hotel (on the whole)offers excellent value for money, a good atmosphere, central location and the staff cannot be faulted (especially Miguel) A holiday is what you make it and you could make this holiday a generally good one!! As long as you stock up on 'roach' spray and don't expect too much!! (we spent over 20 euros on roach spray and still got at least 1 a day in the room!) Keep your lights on, windows closed and it does help.

Sorry for rambling on, I just wanted to make everything as clear as possible incase you are a first time traveller like us, and don't want too many surprises!!

We were put in an apartment on the 7th floor, which at first seemed as high as the moon but with lifts seemingly readily available at all times there wasn't a problem.

Apartments had 2 rooms and a large balcony, but could have done with cutlery and glasses and also a TV for which you don't have to pay extra for!

As for the cleanliness you couldn't turn a corner without meeeting someone with a brush or mop and bucket.

The food was good with a good variety on offer at all meal times, and the drinks were dished out in good measure, especially the time I asked for a whisky with no ice, just straight turned round to speak to someone and was handed a full 1/2 pint of the stuff!

There was plenty to do for the children and entertainment laid on for everyone each night, I suppose it could have been varied a bit more but it was still passable.

The BEASTS everyone has mentioned! I saw a couple of cockroaches and a few cats, hardly an epidemic... however if people would stop feeding the cats?
They could I suppose feed the cockroaches to the cats!!

The staff were very helpful at all times.
Couple of minor points though, there were not nearly enough parasols to go round and some of the walkways had been clearly clattered with cases or furniture and could do with a coat of plaster.

All in all a good enjoyable break.

Me and my friend stayed at Caledonia Park Hotel for 2weeks. First impressions very rundown. Room was different with an upstairs and downstairs. The hotel in itself was clean-ish. However, after 3 days we had a plague of cockroaches. when asking the hotel staff to get rid of them they ust gave us a spray and that was it. Were not too impressed. Towels were changed 3times in the 2weeks we were there, and broken glass from first night was still not brushed up by end of holiday. The pool is very basic and deceives you when looking in as there is a very steep slope when entering and is very dangerous especially for children.

Food was dreadful. Chips for breakfast, lunch and tea. Same food almost everyday. salads are awful. Overall i wouldn't feed the food to my dog, absolutely disgraceful. We had to resort to eating out for evening meals altho we were all inclusive.

The location of the hotel is up a very steep hill. Roughly a 30minute walk from all the main nightlife and 2ominute walk from the beach. Not so bad walking down but worthwhile getting a taxi back in the evenings.

The hotel staff were really nice! On booking in the were very polite and all the barmen were cheeky but very lovely and made you feel very welcome.

The entertainment is great if your 10 years old or younger! very much for kids. not much for aduts and bar is only open until 11pm.

I would not visit this hotel again! and would advise against anyone going. I would rather spen 2 weeks in a caravan in Wales than go to this excuse of a 3star hotel!

I read reports that this hotel was dirty food was bad, ifound both food and hotel excellent we are now thinking of booking for same time next year. The staff were friendly drink was great, the kids loved the kids club and free ice cream and hotdogs were a bonus.Cleanliness was second too none, although rooms dated, refurb already underway.

Was a bit dubious about spending two weeks in tenerife a I thought that the kids would go mental and I that I would end up looking like a lobster.
Thankfully neither happened.
This place was, for me, brilliant.

I'd never been all inclusive before but found this hotel to have a fine selection of alcohol and soft drinks (soft drinks all branded coke, fanta and sprite) The beer (most important) was definitely drinkable.

Food had a good selection fresh salads every day, good choice of breakfasts, lunch was great and dinners were good too. Enough variety not to get too repetitious. I have to say that if you are planning a day trip and do not want to fork out loads on food order a packed lunch for that day.......christ it was massive!! we went to jungle park and had eight of the things.....enough food to satisfy a third world country honestly.

The hotel itself was good, the rooms were a bit dark but then you opened the blinds and (where we were on the third floor) let the sunlight in.

Cockroaches............I'd been to Italy last year and spent the entire holiday putting anti mosi cream on and scratching like a git, here I saw maybe 4 cockroaches and would rather deal with them than the mosi's any day of the week. Saw a few cats but hardly what I'd call an epidemic.

Entertainment for me was excellent, during the day adults could get involved in water polo (great laugh), darts, pool, table tennis, air rifle shooting etc etc. The Kids had various activities during the day usually a couple of hours in both the mornings and afternoons...........a welcome break if ever there was one.

The entertainment team took good care of the kids and put up with a lot of stick (plus getting thrown in the pool regularly)my kids were willing to be adopted by them at the end of the holiday. Kids disco's in the evening of which I won the music CD'S for (in a drinking competetion no less), a quiz (prize was a bottle of plonk which we managed to win about 5 times during our stay...........yay the gates!!!), snake show, dog show, battle of the sexes, karaoke etc etc.

All good and kept us well amused. Apart from a couple of excursions we did not feel the need to leave the complex.
I found out whilst we were there that the areson the hotel had been run down for so long is that it is rented out by 86 different people and in order to refurbish they needed to get 86 people to invest there monies (not easy I bet) anyhow got to see parts of the new rooms and was impressed with what I saw....modern bathrooms with new showers, sinks etc, marble work tops in kitchen and new doors.

Location was great as we were far enough away from the clubs that we did not have to worry about the kids getting to sleep and near enough to the shops that it wasn't a chore going out for the day. We did get to go to Linekers bar and the barman called Martin kept the kids entertained with finding nemo and the adults with episodes of the muppets....cheers matey!

All in all a bloomin' excellent time had by all...we have agreed to go back and I would like to end by saying to Johnny, Cali and Chris thanks for putting up with the kids they should be back to torment you guys again next year!!
Hope this helps people make a decision will try to post some pictures up in the gallery at some point.

Can't see what all the complaints were about! We were worried before going to this hotel, but it was great! So great that we are all going back same time next year and we did not want to come home.

We had 2 families travelling with kids ranging from 3 to 11 years old. The hotel is basic, but clean and is currently undergoing refurbishment.

The pool bar was excellent with a different cocktail every day and any other drinks you fancy. The kids loved the snacks and couldn't get enough of the cheese and ham toasties and ice cream!!

Meals were what you would expect, only grumble we had was not enough choice for the kids.

Location is ideal as you out of the main Veronicas strip, but it's only a 20 minute walk away if you fancy a walk along the front. Recommend the Aqua park just over the road from the hotel, but beware as you have to pay for the sunbeds!! Would not recommend the Decades night out if you have kids, nothing happened for 2 and a half hours and the kids were very bored. Medieval night is a must and the Drifters show afterwards was great, also the VIP Freebird was excellent, got some great snaps of the whales and a soaking when returning to the harbour!

The staff were friendly and efficient, I have never seen anyone work so hard as they did. Everything was clean and tidy.

Entertainment was good with karaoke, snake shows, singers and comic acts, kids club are twice a day for a couple of hours, our kids fell in love with the Entertainment Team and every night were on stage with the mini disco. The Entertainment Team Johnny, Chris and Cali were hilarious and entertained us enough themselves!!! BIG hello to you all if you read this from Jai, Megs, Mark, Therese, Mark, Ben, Georgia and Danni!!!!! And to everyone else we met there, made some good friends and had an absolutely fantastic time!!

P.S The hill is not that bad and there is a bus stop right outside the hotel anyway. There is also no motorway to cross unless you're really daft to go and cross it!!! Heard no traffic noise, was in rooms 307 and 309. All in all fab, and our rep Tony was brilliant, so a big hello and thanks to you too!!

Let me start by saying I am an experienced traveller and have been abroad on holiday 37 times to many different countries and resorts, 18 of these to Tenerife! in apartments and hotels from 1 star to 4 star. I state this as some reports I read on this site about hotels make me wonder what people have been used to or expect etc.

We arrived at 9.30pm and were given room 401 with no check in waiting time or fuss, our room was spotless with a lovely pool and part sea view, it had a lounge area with combined kitchen, two double bedrooms and a very spacious bathroom and lovely terrace which was safe for the children. We requested more pillows and they were in out room by end of 1st day, any clean towels you require you just leave dirty ones on the floor and they were changed, Apartment had lovely hot water which you get by pressing the boiler button in the kitchen area (some people weren’t aware of this and have complained of no hot water!) So room, and cleanliness no problems. The pool area was spotless every morning and by the end of the day there were some plastic cups and plates littered around by the sun beds but are the staff supposed to be following people around and picking things up after them? The problem was the idleness of the guests who couldn’t place litter in the many bins provided and not the hotel staff I can assure you.

Location is not everyone’s cup of tea and up a steep hill but i new the location before visiting so this was never going to be a problem, I'm not the fittest person in the world but if I can get up the hill myself and pushing a 2 year old in a buggy along with a bag of beach towels etc then i'm sure most will manage! Most people were making a joke of the hill and not moaning about it as after all you are on holiday!

The food was varied and we never had a meal time where we struggled to make a proper meal from what was on offer, we never had to eat a meal out!, ice creams, ham /cheese toasties, pizzas, hot dogs and chips were served outside meal times at the pool bar along with afternoon cakes, the drinks at the bars were proper branded drinks and we had no complaints there either. As for only serving 2 drinks per person I think it is an excellent idea, I have been on 8 all inclusive and have seen what drinks are wasted at the end of the night by people over ordering just because they can! 2 drinks per person + any soft drinks you require isn’t that enough?

Staffs were very friendly from reception to maids to bar staff; the waiters always took time to speak to the kids in the dining room.

Entertainment was what you would expect from a 3 star hotel, it always had a kids disco and bingo, so it kept my lot amused! Also on the week we were there, there was a magic show, parrot show, snake show, a soul singer, a comedian and a female singer, but smokers beware you have to go outside for a drag! Unless you go to the upstairs bar which is smoking friendly!

I would go to this hotel again as we had no faults or problems there at all and if people go with the attitude and expectations of a 3 star hotel and I am going to have a fun time then they should have no problems either.

The hotel needs a total up grade, listed as a 3 star, but I a sure you it's not.

Rooms are pretty much disgusting, very dirty, white mould on the bath room ceiling which would fall off with loose paint in to the sink and a rusty bath. Even the maids uniforms were scruffy.

The food was not that good, stayed for five nights, all inclusive, had two ok meals.

Pool was ok, pool bar again very dirty,

Entertainment was very poor.

Main bar and lounge area??? Just don't bother.

Will not stay at this hotel again.

Food was quite good, I say this being one of the funniest eaters imaginable, varied and always hot(apart from the salad).

Cleanliness, was very acceptable, given the hotels appearance of being a little tired and in need of some maintenance, but nothing major.

Location ideal for most activities like water park etc. Torviscus and Las Americas just a stroll away, beach, again close but not for people with any walking difficulties.

Staff overall very pleasant and helpful,1st impression from reception, impressive.

Entertainment, OK, not really to our liking every night but to be expected I suppose, in the middle of January, and repetitive for kids.

Would we go back, Yes, we have already booked for January 2007 and have talked friends to join us this time.
