We arrived at the President at 1am. The greeting was very friendly and we were provided with a meal and refreshments. We were a little apprehensive after reading all the negative reviews but could not believe what we got. The rooms are cleaned every day and have flat screen tv (bbc1 and sky news)hairdryer and plenty of towels, there are five pools in total all on different levels with the childrens pool being at the top near the bar and indoor pool. The views from the pools are to die for . The food is very varied and tasty. The entertainment is ok but we only watched once mainly for children. The staff are very friendly and always helpful. Aucanada is very quiet ideal for couples and familys who dont like all the hustle and bustle.

We stopped at this hotel in July 2006 after stopping in the same hotel in 2003 we found that the hotel had been completely renovated with air con in the rooms and rooms being totally being refurbished.

The food was nice.

Pool areas were kept clean and tidy and would definitely return to this hotel.

Only thing was the entertainment was poor so we went into Alcudia at night but they did try hard the staff did.

Weather was brill not a cloud all week very hot 34 degrees at 9 o'clock at night

Warning!!! if you like to eat the same food every day and every meal time this hotel is for you.

I can honestly say this is the most terrible a/i hotel we have ever stayed in and would advise you all to stay away unless you are German or Spanish as they seemed to cater more for these than the English. Where food is concerned, the snack bar if you can call it that, was leftovers from the previous meal there was never anything cooked fresh or to order and most of the time it was cold the beer was lousy and you can only order one small plastic cup full at a time.

The entertainment was rubbish,we played cards every night apart from when we made our own way down to the port and being in such a secluded area could have been a lot better. I would advise all that have already booked this hotel to take their driving licence and hire a car as this is a must.

The pools were on four different levels and the kids pool was the top level superb designing (not)as you had to walk down three flights of steps to get to the toilet and bar. The sunbeds were padlocked until 9.00am and you had to queue to get one "oh" and be warned if your at the back of the queue you are taking your life into your own hands as fights broke out on two occasions between two women over the last two sunbeds (and no I am not kidding).

In a nutshell I would never return to this hotel, I would rather stay in a tent although the one good thing I can say is that the hotel is spotless and the staff are very pleasant.

Well after reading previous reports on this hotel we were slightly worried, but we all decided to make the best of whatever we found.

Upon arriving we checked in straight away but there was only 1 of our rooms ready but our friends only had to wait about 30 mins before theirs were available.

The rooms themselves are very small and basic and not airconditioned (we hired fans from reception at 3 euros per day, A MUST!) but they were kept tidy everyday by the maids.

After settling in we had a wander around the hotel and found the 3 pools and also a kiddies pool which my 2 year old loved.

The hotel is situated on the side of a hill so there are a lot of steps and stairs to climb which may be something to consider if you or any of your party has walking difficulties.

There is a lovely little beach across the road and the views are stunning.

The food was fine and although this isnt the Ritz there was always something to eat, however the "snacks" need some imagination put into them as they were very repetative.

Oh, just a warning if you do like a sunbed around the pool area, take an alarm clock and set it for 8.30ish which will give you time to be down at the pool for the unchaining ceremony at 9.00am!

Finally, this isnt a bad place to stay, if a little isolated but we did have hire cars. Although I did push my son Adam in his buggy down to the harbour a couple of times that week which only took about 25 mins and wasnt that bad of a walk.

We did hear that the President is going to be refurbished this winter so if you do go ther next year it may have improved even more. But if you do expect 5* treatment when you travel this probably isnt the place for you and you should look elsewhere!!

Our stay in 2005 was our second at the Hotel President, we all found it clean friendly, and above all really relaxing. Probably because you are far enough away from the main resort of Alcudia to just kick back and chill.

Our two children aged thirteen and eleven at the time enjoyed fishing, snorkeling and swimming for the most part, and my husband and I did much the same.

We didn't take in the entertainment in the evening often, but spent our time playing table games and just being with each other. If we went out in the evening we would just catch the bus to Alcudia and enjoy a bit of night life there, and then get a taxi home. There are numerous pubs and bars in alcudia, something for everyone I would have thought.

The President hotel is not actually in Alcudia, but Alcanada which is approx 2km from the marina in Alcudia.

The hotel is set in a residential area overlooking the sea, it has a small beach at the front of the hotel, which has a beach bar, this is not part of the hotel complex.

The hotel is immaculate, rooms were on the small side, but very clean, the bathrooms were fine with great showers.

We had a lovely balcony overlooking the pools and the sea.

The hotel has a large air con inside bar, and a large entertainment area outside with stage and bar.

The evening entertainment takes place outside. The outside bar was not open during the day until the day before we left, which was a pain. The bar service was always speedy with no queues.

The entertainment was pretty standard as with all AI hotels I have experienced. Kicking of with a kids disco then bingo then a show, their was a 70's Show one night which was very good, and the entertainment team did a music through the ages show which was excellent.

The hotel is built into a hillside, and there are a lot of steps, this could be difficult for anyone with mobility problems or very young children.

The hotel has 4 Pools, a small children's pool which is very shallow, then three big pools, beware the big pools are deep at 2m 2, 1m 10 and 1m 11, they didn't get too crowded and were unheated, which was welcome in the heat.

Sunbeds were plentiful and unlocked at 9am, you did have to be up early if you wanted a shade as these were in short supply.

The food at the hotel was the biggest let down, the restaurant is immaculate and staff are very attentive, however the food leaves a lot to be desired. We are not picky eaters but during our stay, we were served sour sausages at breakfast, when we complained they were not removed, we also had sour beef off the cold buffet. The breakfasts were poor with hot dog sausages, some days bacon some days slices of fried Ham! There was always cereal and fruit so you won't starve. Lunches were generally Ok, though a choice of more than 1 veg would be appreciated. The evening meals were the worst, pig livers and rabbit stew were on twice, along with greasy trout and the veg choice was sprouts! There was a lot of veal with the same veal stew on for 3 meals, we did always find something to eat, but if you are a fussy eater beware!

We ate out in Alcudia on 3 evenings where you can get great meals at excellent prices. The snacks are a joke, left over food served from the restaurant, dried up pizza and cold chips!

The hotel is a 20 minute walk into the marina end Of Alcudia though it is hard going in the heat! The hotel runs a courtesy bus every evening from 7.30pm, the public bus stop is just outside the hotel and costs 1 Euro, A taxi into the marina area costs 5 Euro, and 7 Euro into the main Alcudia strip area, taxis are plentiful.

The hotel rooms do not have air con so either pack a fan, or hire one from Reception at 3 Euro per day.

All in all we had a lovely holiday at the President, if they could sort out the food it would be a great AI hotel, if you want a holiday away from it all this is a great hotel. It is in a lovely location away from the hustle and bustle of the main resort.

Although the staff were very good, we were on the 6th floor and we spent half the time having to use the stairs because the lifts which went up to that floor weren't working all the time.

The balcony door didn't lock even though they knew we had a 2 year old. The door leading to the hall didn't lock either. On every floor they had guards on the balcony except on the 6th floor.

The food was pretty much the same every day. My 5 year old son had pizza and chips for 5 days for lunch and dinner because there wasn't anything else to have.

There was no entertainment in the day for our younger children, aged 2 4 and 5. they spent most of the time by the pool and after a couple of days they were bored. they do have 2 small parks with swings and a slide but because they are not shaded they couldn't play on them because it was too hot.

Overall I would say we were disappointed with the holiday and its rating of a 3 star hotel is a little optomistic.

Maybe a very good holiday for families with older children but we won't be going there again.

This was our 1st All-inclusive type holiday and we were quite disappointed with a few aspects of the holiday.

The hotel was very clean and the rooms were cleaned daily, the staff were friendly and helpful. Our room had 4 beds and was just too small considering our children are now 13 and 11. We had to hire a fan as the heat was unbelievable in the room, but we were informed on our departure that they hotel planned to install air conditioning into all its bedrooms later this year, which will be great.

It didn't bother us in the slightest that the hotel was outside the main resort as its nice to get away from the busy hustle and bustle. The beach in front of the hotel was busy but clean and safe.

There was not a chance of a sunbed at the pool due to the queues in the morning and so we missed out totally on the daytime entertainment.

We ended up eating out in Alcudia for 5 nights due to the repetition of the food which seemed less appealing each time, too much pork, veal and fish. Breakfast and lunch were tolerable. Due to eating out in the evening we missed out on the evening entertainment as well and use of the bar, so the full benefit of the all inclusive was definitely not achieved.

We will definitely return to Alcudia but definitely not this hotel.

I have just returned from this hotel today and can say it was the most boring holiday Ii have ever had.

The food was boring the same more or less every night my little girl who is 7 seemed to live on chips all the time as the other food she did not like.

The shows at night were really boring as there was no tv in the rooms you had to come down as there was nothing else to do. The room we had stayed in was not swept or mopped even though we complained at the reception.

I can say for sure I would never go back and I feel like I need another holiday to get over this one, if you are thinking of booking or have done change it as I know this will be a waste of your money!

We've just returned from a week at the President Hotel, and I can honestly say that we were very sad to leave - my 2 children (ages 7 & 4) cried on the aeroplane back home!

The Hotel itself was lovely - I have to admit to being a bit anxious as I had read some rather dubious reports, but we really needn't have worried.

It is a little bit out of the way, if you want to walk into the centre of Alcudia it would probably take about 20-30 minutes (that's only a guess as we didn't walk into Alcudia). However, buses are regular and cheap (€1 each), but we booked a taxi through reception and that only cost us 5 Euro, which I thought was great value, and much more comfortable and speedy.

In terms of the location, though, it didn't bother us in the slightest that it was off the main drag - in fact for us, as a family, that was a bonus as it was quieter. The views from the hotel were simply stunning. There is a small beach just over the road from the hotel, it is only small, but very pleasant, nice and shallow for children to paddle about in, with it's own bar - this bar is not included in the all-inclusive amenities because it is not owned by the hotel.

We found the hotel to be spotlessly clean, from reception right through the rooms, dining room and pools, no litter or debris whatsoever.

Although our room was a little on the small side (we had 4 single beds in a room that was probably only really designed for a maximum of 3), it was still adequate, and we didn't really spend any time in the room other than to sleep, so again it wasn't a problem at all. The bathroom was a decent size, with a bath, shower and bidet, and again it was beautifully clean.

We chose not to hire a fan, simply because we were not expecting it to be that hot at this time of year, but most nights we ended up sleeping with the balcony door open as it did get a little stuffy with 4 hot sticky bodies in there!!! Especially as it topped 90 degrees every day we were there!!!

The food was fine - nothing spectacular but nothing dreadful either. There was always a good varied choice, with plenty of food available and the staff always kept their eye on it so nothing ran out.

Breakfast always offered hot food (bacon/sausage/ham/eggs/beans etc) along with bread rolls and cold meats/cheese, croissants, sweet bread rolls and pastries, different types of jam, lots of fruit, cereals, juices, tea, coffee etc. There was also a great toaster (could do with one at home for those busy mornings!) with "English" bread - brown and white. Yes, there were chips served for breakfast and yes, my children did ask for them, but they were simply told "no" - not hard to do!!

Lunch and dinner followed a similar style, and you could have a lovely 3 course meal if you wished. There was always soup, pizza (the most gorgeous, non-greasy pizza I ever had - if you are going, look out for it - it's the one with lots of herbs and a little grated cheese on the top - yummy), plain pasta with sauce available. There is plenty of salad, with lots of variety, lots of different dressings. Usually 3 or 4 different meat dishes and a fish dish, then there would be a potato dish, a pasta, rice or noodle dish, the usual chips, and something with vegetables. And cold meats, cheeses, cold pasta/rice salads etc.

We always found something appealing to eat, without having to rely on chips, and even the children ate well. Lovely desserts too - heavenly chocolate mousse! - pastries, chocolate sauce, fritters, cakes, fresh melon and pineapple and always ice cream.

The staff in the restaurant were lovely and really kept on top of the turnover of guests - they cleared tables promptly, but weren't intrusive, and always changed the table linen as soon as guests had left.

Throughout the hotel, the staff were really friendly and approachable - particularly the entertainment staff - the "animacion team", who were brilliant! Say hello to Alex, Danni, Matteo, Felice & Sam. Alex, Danni and Matteo ran most of the daytime activities (Felice did the water aerobics and the early morning gym work), and they looked after the kids club. There was always something to do, if you were so inclined - lots of choice from water polo, pistol shooting, football, darts, bowls, horse riding. I think they struck a great balance between encouraging you to join in (because quite often us Brits need a bit of encouragement) yet they knew when you just wanted to flop by the pool as well.

For the children, most of the daytime activities were creative (although there was a treasure hunt and a fashion show) but I think that refelcted the time of year as there weren't too many children around (but enough for mine to make some great friends) and most of the children around were either pre-school or under 8 so the activities on offer reflected their abilities. Evening entertainment was great, and very family orientated - disco for the children, bingo, then a show. It usually finished up at 11ish - about the right time for families with younger children. There was an indoor bar where the couples tended to congregate, and also a disco which opened at midnight.

We spent most of our time lounging by the pools - sunbeds were available from 9am and every morning I sent my hubby to reserve us a couple (although the hotel did have signs posted discouraging this, yet its still something that everyone did). At this time of year, it wasn't really necessary to reserve them as there always seemed to be some free, but we liked the same spot each day so that's what we chose to do (creatures of habit!) Yes, the 3 main pools were deep, but there were signs up telling you how deep, the baby pool was large and shallow for non-swimmers.

All in all, we had a great time at the President. It isn't exactly 5 star luxury, but as a good value family hotel it hits the nail on the head. If you are down to earth, and just want an easy relaxed time in the sun then you won't go far wrong. Yes, we would go back to this hotel again, the children insist on it!!!!

I had seen many bad reviews on this hotel after we had already booked a 1 week all inclusive, which was very worrying. But my worries soon disappeared.
My boyfriend and i found Hotel President a very enjoyable stay.
The hotel rooms were very clean, yes they were basic, but who spends all day in their room when it is glorious outside? we had a balcony view over looking the lovely ocean.ok so there wasn't any airconditioning, but as we had seen this written in a review before we left,we took along our own fan.You can hear other people passing you room during day and night but this didn't bother us in the slightest.
The hotel itself, we found was clean and presentable and the staff always seemed happy to help.
I was very pleased to find that the four pools(one being for children)were cleaned everyday and the area around them were also kept clean.A word of warning, the pools are very cold but as the weather was still very warm at the end of September and found that we needed to cool down so we didn't mind.
The food was very nice most days and there was plenty to choose from. There was a variation throughout the week, which was ideal for most. I am very fussy when it comes to certain foods but had no problems with choosing something that i liked.People must also remember that this is a foreign country so the food won't be what we are used to,but the chefs do their best to meet our needs!
My boyfriend and i enjoyed the entertainment at night by the pool bar, some of their shows were a little strange but they kept most of the crowd entertained. The most enjoyable show had to be the Miss Election show which was absolutly hilarious. We thought that the entertainment team worked their socks off and did a brilliant job at keeping most people happy, although a lot of people didn't bother to join in with most activities during the day which i thought was a shame as the reps worked hard to ensure that there was something to do for everyone.
The reps deserve 10 out of 10 for their enthusiasm and hard work.Well done!!
Don't be put off by the comments about their local drinks, if your like me and enjoy a larger or two, their larger i found was very satisfying and if you like sprits they certainly are not afraid of giving you a generous helping!!
The bar does stop serving at 11.50pm but i found that after a long day in the sun most people are ready for their beds!
We would certainly visit Hotel Presedent again and would advise anyone with an open mind and good sprits to book a holiday here. If however you have very high standards and very little pleases you then i would suggest booking 5star somewhere else!! For us this was a great holiday with plenty of relaxing and plenty of sun, sea and sand.

I went on holiday with my brother and 2 year old son. Unfortunately my brother met some friends and so I was alone quite often with my son who was too young for the baby clubs. I found it quite a struggle managing the baby on my own and wanted to come home but the Manager was brilliant he offered as a special treat for my son to be allowed in the kids club a couple of times to give me a break which was great but then my son became ill and wasn't allowed in the sun, water or sand so we were then even more limited what we could do but the Manager gave me for the last 3 days of my stay a double room with a beautiful view and large balcony overlooking the sea to make my stay more pleasant.

The Manager gets 10 out of 10, he was a very nice and caring man and was very good handling my situation and my son loved him.

The hotel was very clean. Lots of fun & entertainment for everyone and I would stay there again when my son is older.

We visited this hotel in August 2004 which probably didn't help the situation but non of the rooms are air-conditioned so in high season a room containing 4 beds is something that reminds you of how you would have felt in Tenko ie. the rooms were a sweat box. For the size of the hotel the swimming pools and sun beds are not adequate. To reserve a place and a bed near to the pool you had to be up and there for 7.00 am to have any sort of a chance. The private beach that belongs to the hotel is about as big as a sand pit and again unless you are there at sunrise you have no chance of getting a position on the beach. To conclude the food was basic and was more or less the same everyday but as most days are spent at the main Alcudia beach because there is no room around the pool, the all inclusive facility is not put to full use. We will definately be going back to Alcudia but not to the Hotel President.

Had a very happy holiday at this hotel like a lot of people read terrible reviews none of which we found to be true.

Sunbeds are unlocked at 9am yes you do have to wait for them but we had no problems for 2 weeks.

Food plentiful well cooked well presented.

Location is very quiet but taxis and bus to port are cheap and regular.

The rooms do not have air conditioning so are hot but you can hire a fan if need be I would take a small fan if you cannot cope with heat. Wasps were a bit of a menace around the pool and drinks area.

We would return to this hotel

When we arrived at the president hotel, it was the early hours in the morning and with two children, Ryan aged 11 and kelsea 9 we were quite tired as the hotel is about a one hour drive from Palma airport. The hotel looked nice upon arrival. The reception area was spacious and tidy. We were promptly given our room key by friendly staff and told where and how to get to our room. The room was clean and tidy with hotel maids entering your room every day cleaning and making our beds, but pretty basic with no air conditioning, but you could hire big fans for the room, there was also safety deposit boxes for 21 euros deposit and only three euros back at the end of our stay, but the safety boxes are all positioned down at the reception. We felt for a family of two adults and two children the room could have been better as the four beds were all pushed together in a line and our veranda view was poor. The food was ok but quite repetitive, lots of veal and lovely salads, but felt could have had a better variety for the children and one day in the menu it was rabbit and onions which the kids thought poor rabbits. The location of the hotel was mixed with the locals and there was another hotel round the corner from us. There were only two shops, one a gift shop and the other a small grocer type shop selling bottled water. The beach was rather small and with the other hotel near us it made the beach quite crowded. Sun beds were chained up at night and the beach cleaned. You had to be down at the beach about 7.30am to 8.00am to get sun beds and a good spot to sun bathe same with the pools which were often crowded. There was a free bus taking you into the port of alcudia, but you could walk it in 25min or pay on the public bus which stopped near enough at the hotel front entrance
costing 1 euro each. The port has everything to offer
all ages and we wished that our hotel could have been in the port with its miles of beach and plenty shops. The hotel staff were excellent and the hotel reps very informative and helpful, Hi Karen.

The hotel was very very clean, all outside areas jet washed regularly. Pools cleaned out daily. Food was Good, there was something for everyone, although there was a lot of Veal. Loads of fresh fruit, but not many cooked veg. The entertainment staff were trully excellent. Not too pushy, but always around to have a chat, their caberet was one of the funniest things we have seen in years. The room did get very hot with 4 people sleeping. We had a very good last minute deal, so did not mind hiring a fan at £2 per day. You do need to be there at 8.59 in the morning to grab a sunbed in August. All staff were friendly and willing to help. There is one issue you need to be aware of, except for the kids splash pool, all pools are deep. The 1.1 m refers to the edge, the middle is deeper, as my 7 year old found out to his horror.

First impressions were that the hotel was quite old fashioned and basic. The rooms are small and very hot, with no air conditioning and only a small door to open on to the balcony.
All the staff seem friendly and efficient, we hardly ever had to wait at the bar and the restaraunt staff keep tables clean and tidy.
The food was fairly good but a bit repetitive with not a lot of vegetable choice, lots of pork and veal.
Although it is a couple of miles from alcudia beach it has it's own little beach which is nice for the kids to play safely, as we found alcudia beach big and crowded and it is easy to lose sight of small children. We thought this beach to be a big plus for the hotel. You can get into alcudia on the bus for a euro each, buses run every hour upto about 2000hrs and a taxi back would be about 7 euros.
The only downside to the hotel was the evening entertainment which at times was like a gcse drama class. By the second week we had give up on it and spent most nights in alcudia. But, all in all not a bad place at all.

The hotel was clean, but having an infant in the party, we were given rooms on the 6th floor with balcony which was a bit of a worry. Also there are a lot of steps, inside, and around the pools which is hard work if you have a pushchair.

Mainly the food was awfull. They tried to cater for English people but failed badly, none of our party are fussy eaters but most days we all struggled to find something to eat, and ate out of the hotel a few times. Breakfasts were the worst, especially for the children.

Entertainment was a bit lame, but there was not a lot of staff to go round.

Never saw one lifeguard all week, covering three pools.

I visited this hotel in September with my boyfriend. We found the hotel was in the wrong location. There was nothing to do around the hotel.

The beach over the road form the hotel was small but it nice. You had to pay for the drinks on the beach and we were not told this as we were all inclusive.

The rooms were basic. The swimming pools were nice but they were cold. One was pool was horrid it was very dirty. The entertainment was very poor for my age group. There was a disco of a night but you had to pay for that as well.

We mainly spent our holiday out of the hotel with friends that we meet. There were a lot of steps in the hotel and the lifts were tiny so people with young children and push chairs were stuck really.

The food was very poor it was the same nearly every night, and day. When I went we had no travel rep so we tried to talk to a rep from travel city they was very helpful told us where to go out and about. To get to the port of alcudia you had to get a cab or a local bus. Which was not too bad. All in all we did not enjoy ourselves.

Stayed in this hotel for two weeks, what a nightmare. The food was the same thing every meal time. My little boy lived on chips for 2 weeks.

The pools and the entertainment were the only good part of our holiday.

I had to have a cold shower every night before I went to bed because the room was so hot.

I will never go back there again even if it was free.

Hi

Had to write - we were at this hotel for 2 weeks and i can honestly say it was the best holiday we have ever had, from the food to the staff everything was first class - i am surprised it is only a 3 star.

We will definately be going back.

Hi there just to give some experiences of this hotel which i found fantastic. Its in a quiet location but your living with the locals which gives you a traditional Mallorcan feel of life there. The hotel has a rating of a 3* and we stayed all inclusive, the food was typical buffet as always when all inc but a range of choice and the dining area very nice as some seating area looks out over the sea. The hotel has its own private beach which i can imagine in high season could get quite busy but even saying that your not far from Alcudia and the beach there stretches 11km long and is a beautiful bay. Around the hotel itself the hotel offers 3 pools and small paddling pool for toddlers, there is a games room which is great way for kids to enjoy themselves and get rid of your loose change, the hotel entertainment for kids is great and the hotel staff are quite friendly. The rooms in the hotel are all quite nice with balconys. Generally we really enjoyed our stay at the president and had a brilliant holiday there.

My family and friends booked this Hotel, 32, 31, 3 and 10 months. Travelled 3/8/02.
If you're thinking of going DON'T. The Food is more or less the same every day, you can get anywhere with a buggy without having to negotiate steps. The beach is nice but small. Entertainment is @#%$, the staff where abrupt, the hotel was burgled and they took no responsibility. All my family where ill with sickness and your can guess what else. I don't think it helps that the food is sat for at least two hours if not more on a hot plate.
This is not what I expected of an all inclusive holiday, no drinks where allowed out of the bar no food allowed out of the restaurante, you had to pay for bottled water and crisps. We did make the most of a bad holiday but 'DON'T GO'.

I stayed in this hotel at the end of July 2002,with my partner and 3 children(14,13 & 5).

We walked in at 12.30am and the minin disco was in full swing with 13/14 year old in the bar drinking not very many adults about. So our first impression wasnt a good one.
1.The food is very good but quite repetitive lots of Veal.
2.The bar staff are very friendly and helpful they will recommend excellent restaurants(La traviatta in Alcudia is an excellent Steak house)
3.The entertainment team (Monti,Elena and Monica) do the best with what amenities they have.
There isnt very much for teenagers,Monica works with the little ones and my youngest had a great time.
The Adult games can be good fun.
In conclusion if you have already booked to go here then join in with everything, get up on stage and have a laugh and you will have a good time.If you are looking to book try a different hotel, but stay in alcudia because the beach is gorgeous and the water isnt too deep so its quite safe for the little ones.
There is Bingo every night and they bring in acts a couple of nights a week
When we were there, they had a few complaints from a neighbour about noise and the police were called 4 times once more and they were going to lose there entertainment licence, so they took all the handles off the windows in the bar and screwed them closed and they alsoo unplugged the speakers, after a majority of us complaing the fixed the speakers so if you have a complaint make sure they listen to you.
we had to be down by the pool at 7.00 to get a sunbed but they have started chaining them up and dont unlock them until 9.00,and if you want a table in the bar make sure you get in there by 7.00
Im sorry if this puts you off but better to have an insight into what your getting into.
My overall rating of this hotel is 6/10 and i wouldnt go back.
Sorry

We're a married couple aged 30 & 31. Before going, we looked on here where there were 4 reports, which have now gone. 3 were appauling and 1 was 'ok'. For this reason we were dreading the holiday thinking it would be a nightmare. We booked a late deal and only paid £250 each for 1 week at the beginning of May 2002. When we arrived, it looked a 2nd rate hotel, but the lounge area was massive - decorated 70's style which wasnt overly attractive but very spacious. I was shocked to find out we had to wear a plastic braclet for all inclusive purposes and found out the hard way how to take it off. My advice would be to get them to fit it as losely as possible - that way you wont have to wear it outside of the hotel! We were daunted when we realised we were on the 5th floor, but were delighted when we saw the view from our window - breathtaking!
There were 2 lifts to our floor which were always available, the room was plain but clean, however there was no folder for hotel information which I thought was pretty poor. There was a few Germans but mainly English guests. The bar area reminded me of a working mens club but the bar staff were very friendly and we never had to wait long for a drink.

The food was a mixed blessing. There was always 'something' to eat from 8am till 11pm, but the quality was varied depending on when you went. Theres loads of choice, some meals we didnt bother with and sometimes we had a lovely 3 course. It very much depended on when you got there...people were waiting for the hot grub at meal times and it was a bit like a rugby scrum to get the best picks. They served chips at breakfast - something I complained about and was told by the hotel staff they stopped doing it for a while and got complaints (??). The entertainment was 2nd rate with the resident hotel entertainers doing their best but it didnt impress us. There was always a struggle to get a seat in the bar during evenings - get there early! There are 3 pools which are not heated...perhaps when its hot it doesnt matter but I couldnt swim for fear of catching a cold!

The hotel is located 7 minutes DRIVE from the Port of Alcudia and about 15 minutes from the resort of Alcudia. You'll definatly need a car if you want to get out and about. There is a little beach across the road of the hotel with a bar/cafe but we never used it. Theres 2 shops nearby which sell all the basics you'll need to get by.

The one downside to our holiday was the weather - it rained for 5 out of the 7 days we were there which is probably why the hotel seemed CRAMMED at all times. If it werent for that, it would have been a good holiday.

Dont expect too much from the hotel - you get what you pay for and considering we only paid £500 all in, we couldnt grumble.

Stayed in this hotel in July 2002.

When we arrived I was surprised at the size of the hotel. The reception area and lounge was huge and we were made to feel very welcome, even though it was 1 o'clock in the morning.

We were given a plastic bracelet to wear, which is quite common for all inclusive hotels, and didn't bother us at all.

There are 4 swimming pools in total, each one being on a different level as the hotel is built into the hillside. The very top pool is the childrens pool which is very safe and only just over knee depth.

The food was very good and we never had the same menu twice for the whole fortnight we were there. The hotel provided us with packed lunches when we decided to venture out for the day and consisted of the usual - bread rolls, cheese, ham, salami, apples, bananas, oranges and bottled water.

There was an entertainment program during the day which started at 11 o'clock. This was darts, shooting, archery, football, water polo, cocktail games or pool. The main entertainer, Monty, was excellent and so funny. There are 4 entertainers in total and each of them take it in turns to provide activites for all ages. The hotel run mini club was held near the top bar in a huge pine hut, next to the childrens playground, and my children loved it. They played all sorts of games and competitions and activites. There is also a maxi club for teenagers.

The entertainment on a nighttime was hit and miss. We saw various shows as well as the normal quizes and adult competitions.

Panorama also had a childrens club which cost £10 per child and was well worth the money but you didn't really need it with the hotel having a first class mini club.

There is a very small beach over the road from the hotel but it is very easy to catch the local bus in puerto alcudia. It only cost 1 euro and the beach in the port was excellent.
