The Eden Lago is a really nice hotel, part of the Eden chain. We booked this holiday DIY and only paid 140 pounds for the apartment for the week. Had a one bedroom apartment overlooking the pool with a lake behind, lovely views, but beware off mozzies. I was bitten a few times. Apartment was spotless, towels were changed everyday and sheets twice, They even provide liquid soap in the bathroom and a hairdyer. Usual kitchen untensils with a two ring hob, no kettle or toaster but you can hire these. TV also in the room with the usual channels that you get abroad although I managed to watch The England game with Spanish commentary when we arrived.

The hotel staff spoke good english and were very helpful. Internet access is also available.

The hotel is located about a 20 minute walk to the Bellvue strip and about 40 minutes to the Port area and about 300 metres to the beach, but there is a busy road to cross, not so ggod for young children, their sister hotel, the Eden Alcudia is actually on the beach.

I have only given the entertainment 2 as we never stayed in for it, but what I heard sounded okay there was a show on every night and also daytime activities.

JMC are the only tour operator that use this hotel and the hotel was 98% Germans, but we did not have a problem with this.

I would stay here again if we ever go back to Majorca, but I would probably opt for the Eden Alcudia being on the beach and I think that was the same price as what we paid

We didn’t stay at the Eden Lago out of choice. We booked our chosen accommodation (Viva Tropic) indirectly through Alpha Rooms who after confirming our booking, cancelled it due to the Viva Tropic being overbooked, despite Alpha Rooms website continuing to show availability for days after.

If you intend booking with Alpha Rooms, I strongly recommend that you check the small print first as you’ll find that they can cancel your booking at anytime and as long as they offer you alternative accommodation of the same star rating, they have fulfilled their legal obligation. You have been warned!

The Eden Lago is a small to medium size aparthotel offering comfortable 3 star accommodation with entertainment. It pretty much does what it says on the tin. From the outside it looks typical early 80’s build but once inside, you can immediately tell that it has been renovated, especially the reception and indoor bar area which is very nice.

The sun terrace around the pool is also very clean albeit a little small for the size of the hotel. In high season you would need to be up early to get a sun bed. The pool is ideal for kids. It is only 1.4 meters at its deepest point with most areas around the sides being 0.2 – 0.4 meters. Our 6 and 3 year olds found it ideal. The pool was no colder that any other pool. The hotel staff checks the water temperature daily and shows the readings in reception.

Our 1 bed apartment was an adequate size and was very clean although we had a bit of an ant problem in the bathroom and kitchen area. Cooking facilities were limited to a two-ring hob and there was no grill, oven, toaster or kettle. As with the electric, the air conditioning is operated by slotting the door key-card into a unit on the wall. By the time you feel the effects of the air con, you’re ready and off out again. It didn’t appear to work during the night and we all had a couple of sleepless nights as a result. Be aware also, the cleaners pour raw bleach into the toilet brush holders. We only realised this after finding bleach marks on some of our clothes that had been dropped onto the bathroom floor. Not ideal either when you have small children. When we approached the hotel manager, he said that the use of bleach was normal and any spillage was not their responsibility. They compensated us with a free breakfast!!

Self-catering guests can pay-as-you-eat in the restaurant. The restaurant was clean and tidy but I have to say that the food on a whole wasn’t very good. They put burgers and fish fingers on for breakfast one morning…strange but true! The hotel snack bar opens from 12.30 – 3.00 and the food was really good, pity it didn’t open later.

As with most of the staff in the hotel, the entertainment team was very friendly and always encouraged people to join in. The mini club was great and kept our two busy with different activities. There was quite a lot of German guests during our stay and they generally grouped together for the daytime activities. Evening entertainment was a little low key compared to bigger hotels. With the pubs and bars only being a 10-minute walk away, most people went out leaving the same group of Germans to the hotel entertainment.

Had a very good stay at Eden Lago and personally considered it to be of 4* standard and not 3*. Very clean and modern with good facilities. The staff were very friendly. Would recommend this aparthotel to anyone unless they required a top class 5*. Good location and close to the beach. It is worth paying a little extra for the one bed apartment although the studio was perfectly adequate.

This hotel was part of the Eden hotels group. On arrival it looks pretty average but as you walk through the sliding glass doors at the entrance and are greeted by the lovely friendly reception staff you realise that this is somewhere special.
The hotel was exceptionally clean. The staff were extra friendly and could not do enough for you. We were recommended places to eat and shop and given maps and leaflets on arrival. They speak very good english.
The rooms were basic but very comfortable and clean-there was tonnes of storage space. Me and my boyfriend had a wardrobe and a chest of drawers each.
The bar was really nice as was the restaurant.
The pool was really big, the only down side was that the water was absolutely freezing, abnormally cold so we didn't go swimming much.
The holiday was a quickie and we weren't expecting much but it far exceeded our expectations-really nice!
