| said: Apartments were very spacious with huge balcony overlooking the sea!! got sun most of the day. Cleaner came every day except mondays and thursdays. Changed bedding, towels every day she called. A very professional and friendly lady. Fridge, microwave/grill, two ringed cooker and loads of pots, ware, cork screw, utensils etc.
Only had occasional lunches on hotel terrace, burgers etc. quite acceptable. Lovely french bar/restaurant in same complex. loved the chicken salad! and boys loved the barbeque wings!!
Loved the location of the hotel as it was at the end of the resort and very quiet. Local bus pulled into the car park every half hour and for one euro took you the whole length of the "strip" stopping at regular intervals. Very prompt!
Hotel has a lovely beach within five mins walk. Three pools. One kidney shaped one for toddlers. One large deep one and one in between size, with a shallow area which gradually got deeper. Ideal for my seven year old. Life guard on duty every day from when the pool opened at 10 a.m to 7 p.m. when it closed. Loads of beds and you could hire a mattress for one euro for the day. Had problem though with umbrellas. the blue light ones blew away on windy days and it was only luck that some child wasn't injured when they did. The big red ones were fine. We all felt that the problem lay with the umbrella bases. they didn't grip the umbrellas at all. I hate to complain as I had such a great holiday so hopefuly they'll correct this problem.
I thought the hotel staff were very nice and obliging, expecially the older bar man whose name I never got (sorry). He always had a smile for everyone. even for the crankiest of guest!! (and there were a few begrudgers around that fortnight!!)
The wavelength (kids club for 10 years and older) reps were outstanding. Hi to Ruth and Aaron. my 10 year old loved them. they made his holiday. great fun he had cooking, playing ps2 and pool and all sorts of crack!
the night entertainment wasn't great at all. which was disappointing for us parents who had to stay around as our kids wanted to stay with their new found "friends" every night!! I guess it was ok if you had kids under 4 but could def do with improving a little.

We cannot praise the Puerto Marina in Mojacar enough especially if you have young children.
The apartments are spacious and spotless - cleaned every day with fresh bedding and towels.
We stayed on an all inclusive basis and found the variety and quality of food very good. Lots of fresh fish, meat, salad, fruit and pasta along with the usual chips burgers, pizza etc
The hotel is located at the end of the plaza and is a short walking distance to the bars and shops - ideal if you have a young family as nice and quiet after midnight.
The entertainment was absolutely superb. Tanya, Chris and Cat worked very hard to keep the kids amused. My little girl (age 4) adored the mini-disco and various games and entertainment.
Very much geared up for young families. We would definately return here.

Beautiful location set in the mountain side, with all the balconies(which are large) overlooking the med - fantastic views!!! The local entertainers worked really hard all day and night to keep the kids entertained.
All staff we had any dealings with were polite and helpful. We had no problems around the pool, lifeguard on from 10am when the pool opens, plenty of beds and not overcrowded - the hotel was full!! There are games in the pool during the day.
There is also a small row of shops on the car park and the little bar/cafe has a small balcony with wonderful view of the med and nice bar snacks. The terrace bar in the hotel food was hot and very nice, although quite basic.
The weekly BBQ has loads of choice as there was also a buffet with everything you can think of on!!
There was a daily maid service.
We would not hesitate to go back - fantastic relaxing holiday!!

The apartments were spacious, cleaned and bedding changed every day. The staff were friendly most of the time.
The food in the restaurant was nice and you got a good selection. The BBQ night is not worth the money though if you are self catering.
The location is a 10 min walk from the main bars but there is a bus service every 30mins that goes along the main stretch.
I didn't think much of the hotel entertainment. It was aimed at children with a mini disco every night then the main act which was the reps putting on a show.

Wasn't very impressed with the First Choice kids club reps always sitting around talking while the kids were left to their own devices.
Tried food in the hotel not great got raw burgers, the staff weren't happy when I took them back.
Service not always with a smile and don't let your kids go to the bar to buy ice lollies as the staff just ignore them

| said: This is one of the best holidays we have ever had!!
The staff were always pleasant and friendly (some bar staff were not always that cheerful, but if you humoured them a little, you got a smile - and after all, would you like to work in over 100 degrees of heat?!!).
The room we had was fantastic. I e-mailed the hotel prior to our visit and requested a quiet room on a low floor - and that's just what we got. We only stayed in a 1 bed apt. but they were extremely spacious, with patio doors in the lounge and the bedroom and they were air conditioned - which is just what you want after a day in the hot sun! The maids came nearly ever-day to clean and change the towels - this gives you an idea on just how very clean the whole hotel is.
We only ate in the Hotel once and that was at the bar restaurant. We had pizza and it was very nice, but you are quite close to some very nice bars and restaurants, so we preferred to escape the Hotel for a while. A 5 or 10 minute down-hill walk will get you to these. Try "Smugglers". Only a small restaurant and if you want to eat at the front I suggest you book a table a day in advance to guarantee it. The food here is gorgeous. Only a small menu, but trust me when I tell you - when you have eaten here - you won't want to eat any-where else!
The Hotel is situated right at the very end of the Playa, but this suited us. There is a bus stop right out-side the Hotel which will take you along the sea-front and right up to the Village of Mojacar on the hill - whatever you do, don't attempt to walk it - it's miles and will probably take you at least a couple of hours, if not more!
Don't worry about not getting a sunbed. As long as you are up for 10am in the morning, you should get one - they don't open the pool area until this time, so no danger of people laying claim to loungers in the early hours of the morning!
Entertainment was good especially for the kids. They had a nightly kids disco and then bingo. The best of booking a First Choice Family Plus holiday is that the kids club runs between 9pm and 11pm at night as well as loads of times during the day, so if you fancy a drink "just the two of you", you actually get some peace and the kids get to do what they want and that's have fun and play with their friends in a place where you know they are being well looked after.
All in all this hotel is fantastic - staff are lovely, reps are even lovelier, the kids club and the kids reps are just great, the Hotel is superb - what more can we say - go there - you'll have a great time!!

Hotel according to brochure was built in 2002 but paintwork, furniture was very grubby, towels washed out.
Apts not properly cleaned before new guest, floors dirty & bathroom not properly cleaned.
Ate in buffet restaurant a few nights food OK.
Location OK as you were in a nice quite area.
Staff friendly.
Entertainment not bad, reps could not sing but they worked hard and were always available at all times, gave a good detailed welcome talk & put a lot of effort into their work.

| said: We got back yesterday and to be quite honest were not looking forward to returning to the British weather.
I disagree with a few people because I don't think the cleanliness was anywhere near 4-5 stars! If you were to just walk around the apartment without shoes on, your feet would be covered in dirt so you would have cleaner feet if you were to keep your shoes on!
I would definitely say that the view from every apartment was beautiful and I loved waking up to look at the view from the balcony (which was quite small).
Helen, Jodie and Scott were good entertainers but I agree that they can't really sing or dance but are really nice people.
There were no break ins I don't think there at the time and I definitely think that there should be CCTV cameras because of those poor people that don't feel safe and just want to enjoy their holiday!
There is a bit of a down side which is that there isn't many shops nearby that arn't too far to walk and you don't want to be walking to far in the heat over there!
Apart from a few downsides I enjoyed it a lot and I would recommend it to families that want to have a great holiday so go for it you'll have a superb time!!!

| said: I was not impressed with the cleanliness of this hotel. On arrival we found only four pillows in our room and when we requested another (we had a party of 5)we were told that there were problems with the laundry and four days and five requests later we were given another one!! Also we went five days without a change of bed linen (Again problems with the laundry!!) which came whilst we were out and meant me making our beds up myself at 12 O'clock at night!! Also my daughter stayed in the room one day and came out of the bedroom to find the maid swigging coke from a bottle from our fridge!! The floor also was not cleaned properley for the whole two weeks
The location of this hotel is OK with a good bus service running every half an hour.We weren't very impressed with the restaurants we visited there though. The only one we went back to was "Cowboy Cocina" which was OK. Perhaps we were just unlucky with our choices
The staff are friendly enough. Jodie in particular. I agree that they can't actually sing or dance and their production of Bugsy Malone left alot to be desired!! The entertainment was of poor quality and not what I would expect from such a large well known company. But the children loved the mini disco and games every night. Also the Kids club reps were very good. Silly Scott being voted favourite by my two youngest(Hayley 8 and Bradley 6)
The pools were clean but there weren't enough sunbeds which meant you had to break the rules and go down to claim your beds before 10am. Everyone was doing it and it became a bit of a circus. On one occasion my husband and about 20 others were told off by reception staff for acting like children and not obeying the rules!(SHE WAS VERY RUDE) If there were enough beds and sun shades this wouldn't have happened.
I definately would not go back to this hotel. I have been to the First Choice holiday village in Lanzarote and that was 10 times better!!

| said: Just arrived back from a 2 week stay I have to say that the kids, daughter aged 8 & son aged 6 baby aged 1 had an absoulute ball and didnt want to come home! The apartments are not that spacious.
The kitchen is a 2 ring hob and a microwave I was expecting more for a 4 star but it served our needs and it was very clean. The maids came 6 days a week and were very friendly. The on site supermarket is very expensive but you are paying for its location I suppose I also used the laundry room where there are washers dryers and ironing boards (also very clean).
The pool area was very large 2 pools and a baby pool. If you want an umbrella though you have to join the morning rush to grab one The pool is opened at around 9.30am.
If you get down any later than 10.30 you wont get one It drove us mad to see the way some people would dive down there but beacause we have a young baby we had to join in with the sport.
We had our umbrella pinched on a number of occasions!!!!
The reps were all lovely most of them can't sing or dance for toffee but they were nice people and were fab with the kids Helen, Scott, Jodie and Laura to name the kids favourites work really really hard for not much reward.
There is a mini disco every evening then bingo and then some sort of show I would have preferred to go out for a nice meal but the kids had other ideas and so we had to eat on the terrace each night (which wasnt much good) whilst they joined in the fun.
But if they are happy then we are!
The only sour note about this holiday was that 4 rooms were broken into whilst we were there One family had their room totally trashed and had to be moved to another hotel.
There is a security guard there but he only comes on at 11pm So obviously the rooms were broken into before then From reading previous reviews about this hotel this has been happening for a number of seasons and First Choice and the hotel dont seem to be that bothered about it.
I can't see why cctv cant be installed I do know that for the poor families involved it was awful for them and they didnt feel safe for the rest of the holiday. This is the only blip on what has beeen an excellent holiday, especially for the kids!

| said: We stayed on a self catering basis and ate at the hotel twice, but the waiters were very rude and the service was not the best. We were given our meals at different times and they were cold on arrival. There was no service with a smile and the drinks/food were plonked on the table and not even allocated to each person.
The hotel was clean, however, the cleaners had a very bad habit of leaving the doors and patio doors open which made it easier for burglaries (coincidentaly), which happens a lot at this hotel. I complained to the receptionist one evening about our doors being left open by the cleaners. She made a comment to another receptionist in spanish and they laughed at me. VERY RUDE!
The location was not the best, at the end of the Playa which meant a bus ride for 75 cents each time you wanted to go out. Very nice veiw of the med though.
I have never been to any resort and had to deal with such rude people. They were extermely unhelpful, never smiled, and made you feel very unwelcome in their county.
The entertainment was as poor as most of it was carried out by the First Choice Reps and aimed at young children only. Not one of them had a good voice between them and it was very loud and stopped you from sitting on your balcony and going to sleep as all you could here was their droning voices all night!!!!!
The swimming pool did not open until 10am which created a lot of animocity between both hotel staff and fellow holiday makers as everyone felt they had to fight for a sunbed. There were not enough umbrellas considering this was a child friendly hotel. We only saw the lifeguard on 2 occasions.
There was a burglary on the fourth night, in which 4 rooms were broken into and the ACTUAL SAFES were stolen and the rooms ramsacked. There was no increased security and people felt very vulnerable. They had no support from the Hotel Staff or the First Choice Reps, not suprising as they were barely adults!!
For the rest of our holiday we carried all of our possesions around and slept with a chair behind the door as we feared our safety.
Has put us off Spain for life and we will definately think twice about using First Choice again.
VERY DISCGRUNTLED considering this is a 4 star hotel in an exclusive resort.

| said: On arrival, we were pleasantly surprised at how nice the Hotel looked. The reception area is quite large with comfortable couches spread around it, an internet area, games room, reading room etc.
We were checked in with no delays and were up in our rooms within ten minutes of arrival. We had a one bedroomed apartment which was actually quite large, with a huge balcony overlooking a spectacular view of the pool, sea, and mountains. All rooms have a seaview.
The rooms are cleaned almost every day, with fresh towels etc. All of the staff are extremely friendly. We had a small problem with the reception on the TV (I know who needs it on a sun holiday!!!) but it was fixed within an hour of reporting it.
The Falcon Reps, entertainment staff etc. were absolutely top class. There was a Falcon Rep in reception almost all day every day. They were always there for every query, complaint, and just when all the kids wanted to annoy them!! Entertainment on the complex was excellent as well, may not be everyone's cup of tea but you certainly wouldn't be bored. Something going on all day for adults and kids so if you are going to be confined to the pool area you have plenty to do, games, quizzes etc. Night time entertainment was excellent as well, and I have to say all the staff work very very hard at helping you have good holiday - it certainly worked for us.

We did not use the restaurant and it did not look that nice.
We could have had a nice holiday, but was forced to stay away from the hotel as much as possible because of the awful entertainment, it was so loud we could not sit outside while it was on, even the small bar close by was drowned out by the intrusive noise. We could not use the excellent balcony in our apartment for the same reason. We complained but was told that nothing could be done.
The staff were helpful in other areas.
I think 4 stars is misleading because of the above.

| said: First of all I must say that the hotel rooms are a great size and the swimming pools are big and clean. Aside from that, there is really nothing positive that I can say about the Puerto Marina.
For starters, it is in a bad location at the very end of the Mojacar Playa. If you are interested in a central location, with access to authentic Spanish restaurants and proper grocery stores, I wouldn't stay there. Luckily for us, we rented a car and were able to get away to some of the nicer areas in Mojacar Playa and Mojacar Puebla.
The onsite market is really just a newsagent that sells beer.
The entertainment was appalling and we had no air conditioner for the entire week.
The staff were unhelpful and the food was really, really poor.
This is quite possibly the worst place I have ever stayed.

| said: We booked a late minimum 4-star SC AOA deal for our first holiday without the children in 20 years and ended up at the Puerto Marina Aparthotel which we were very happy about. It had only recently opened for the season and only the first 3 floors were occupied while we were there. First impressions were good on arrival but we were even happier with our apartment and the huge 18' x 9' balcony. The room was clean, spacious and nicely furnished with a well-equipped kitchen area and thoroughly deserved it's 4-star rating in our opinion.
I can't comment on the evening entertainment or the restaurant as we never went to either but I don't think we missed much from what we heard. Also, the large main pool is unheated and was absolutely freezing which is why only the bravest souls seemed to use it when we were there.
The location of the hotel at the the southern end of Mojacar Playa was fine for us as we had a hire car for the week but may not be ideal for others who don't. However, as the local bus stops right outside the hotel getting about locally really shouldn't be an issue.
We had a excellent week with great weather and would go again like a shot, no problem at all.

| said: I went off season and booked through the internet on a last minute basis, making it excellent value.
The terraces are large enough to make sure you can get sun all day.
However, though I did not have any problems, I have read that there are sometimes break-ins at the hotel. This could happen if you have untrustworthy neighbours who could climb over onto your terrace and they could watch the pool to see that you were there and/or about to return... The complex is so big that it would be impossible to police it properly so you have to make sure of your own security, I would think.
The supermarket is OK but has limited stocks, and a lot of it is English ready meal stuff, though it is good they get the English papers early.
There were a few chavs there who ignored the rules about drinking their own booze by the pool, and I think that should be policed better, but basically pretty good.
I had a hire car I had driven from Almeria but on the whole, you don't really need to leave the complex.
Best accommodation I have had in Mojacar after perhaps six or seven times there.

We ate in the restaurant a few nights mainly on BBQ nights and had breakfast there a few mornings. Nothing spectacular but on the nights when we couldnt be bothered going into the town it served our needs.
Lovely pool area. First Choice kids clubs and night time entertainment left a lot to be desired. If you want a change some night there is a lovely French Bar across the road which showed all the big soccer matches.

Swimming pool was without lifeguard many mornings when they did turn up they sat watching the women. Saw approx 4 accidents by the pool in 2 weeks!
Children’s games room had broken toilet seat/or lack of loo seat altogether.
Entertainment was a joke only one good evening was flamenco, which was great. Probably cos reps were performing!

We had breakfast on several occasions which was quite good, buffet style for 6 euros per adult.
The hotel is situated at one end of the resort, the promenade stretches for several miles. Just 5 mins walk is the start of the beach, restaurants and bars. The hotel staff were not the most friendliest of people, mainly the bar staff. The reps worked hard but the entertainment was not great.
If i was to visit Mojacar again i would probably go back to the Puerto Marina.

| said: Our holiday this year was Fantastic. The holiday Reps were excellent, the entertainment was excellent, the apartment was excellent - do you get the feeling we had an excellent holiday.
My daughter really enjoyed the Kids Club, it gave my husband and I a couple of hours to ourselves.
The evening entertainment starting with Kids Disco and ending in the main event was all fantastic. We had such a great holiday we are thinking of going back next year.
The only downfall and it is very minor was that you are on the edge of the Playa and it is a fairly long walk if you want some form of excitement but to be honest if your that desparate you just hop on a bus (75 cents) and get off when ever you liked.
We found the entertainment at the Puerto Marina was so good we didn't need to go off site. The beaches are great - nice and quite - not covered in sunbeads and umbrellas.

Food in Buffet restaurant not great but nearby restaurants are excellent and very cheap. Wine in hotel very good and cheap.

| said: On arrival we were very impressed with the standards of the hotel.Although we had asked for a low floor room with having 2 small children,we got 6th floor but it proved not to be a problem as balcony was great and very secure. All staff were extremely friendly and helpful. It was kept very clean including round the pools and terrace area with two life guards on hand throughout the day.We only ate in the buffet restaraunt once and although it was spotless and food was quite nice,it was cheaper to eat elsewhere.the further up the playa you go the cheaper it becomes and food is great(with less flies hanging around your plate!)Entertainment by first choice was great although not a lot for under 5s (ours are 5&2)Very hot so could do with indoor play area for midday sun

| said: We first visited here in May 2003 on a last minute two week holiday. I have to say I had never heard of Mojacar before arriving but did some research before we left. We were thrilled when we arrived as the hotel was brand new, beautiful and our room was massive with a really big safe balcony. When we got up in the morning and opened the curtains we couldn't believe the view - an amazing view right across the med!
The hotel is clean and fresh and the staff work like Trojans to look after the customers.
The entertainment is very family orientated and the children love it - especially the magic show!
The First Choice reps are great and the children loved the kids clubs who were inventive and kept my children motivated and happy. Helen was there in 04 and she was brilliant, I think my little James, then aged six had his first crush. He still keeps a picture of her.
There is loads of facilities in the hotel and all reasonably priced -
Out and about, which you must do:
Beach:
The beach is great with hardly any people on it at all. It is sandy, clean and the sea is lovely and warm. There can be sea debris if there has been a storm out to sea - but this is rare. The sea can get choppy and there are one or two steep drops in certain areas. There is usually a lifeguard on in high season.
All along the beach there are brilliant children’s playgrounds, these are lovely in the evening after or before meal.
Eating:
Argentinean steak house 5 star
Torres Bahia
Felipes
Visit:
Mojacar village, especially if there is a fiesta on - be warned these only come to life after dark so take a nap in the afternoon and then see how the Spanish really party. Also nice quaint restaurants.
Water park if you have kids - 15 minutes away
Commercial centre and Almeria for shopping
Vera to see a traditional bull fighting ring (I personally disagree with this sport)
All in all a brilliant family hotel in a beautiful Spanish resort - - but not a traditional Costa.
Even though we had never heard of Mojacar in 2003, we now own our own place there!

| said: The hotel had only just been built therefore, everything was spotless. Well equiped rooms with massive balcony overlooking the sea and pool. Pool area lovely and as it was august when we travelled we did manage to get sunbeds eventually. Entertainment team fantastic for kids. Hotel staff very friendly. The walk to the beach was via a main road down the hill.
