The hotel staff were efficient and the maids were forever cleaning every nook and cranny. We did not stay in for the entertainment - we are in Benidorm you know!!
We will return next February!!

| said: After returning from the Rosamar a couple of hours ago, I`ve got round to writing this review.
I would not go to this Hotel again.
The entertainment is geared towards the Spanish every night with hardly a word of English spoken, the bar staff seem a miserable bunch unless they are dealing with the Spanish.
The lifts are a joke and you could be waiting up to 15 minutes at times to get one, thats if you can beat the rude Spanish guests that seem to think they can just walk right up and get a lift before you.
The rooms are basic, the only plug socket that worked for us was in the bathroom, forget being sat out on your balcony after midnight, as the switch the balcony lights off at that time!
Food, again everything was geared towards the Spanish guests with very little British selection.
Overall, I got the impression that this Hotel prefers to have Spanish guests and the British are tolerated begrudingly. this was our first time half board and I did n`t enjoy it, back to self catering in future for us!

| said: Arrived to the Rosamar and was checked in very quickly. Room was clean and of a good size, Pool area is very nice and bar prices are reasonable. This hotel takes alot of bookings for mixed nationalties, alot of spanish whilst we were there, which didnt bother us. The food wasnt to our taste, breakfast was the best meal of the day however the evening meal consistied of pork pork and more pork, with a bit of squid on other nights. Not enough variety. The entertainment during the day wasnt too bad but nothing was in english so we couldnt understand what they were saying. The evening entertainment consistied of spanish pensioners ball room dancing, these people wernt staying in the hotel they just came into the hotel every night, all music was spanish, it was no good for families and my son was bored. The bar staff are really friendly and a credit to the hotel. I think the hotel needs to involve everybody in all activities if they are expecting british people to spend there hard earned money to holiday here. All in all I probably wouldnt visit again.

The rooms were clean the bathroom was dated and it did take me a while to find out how to work the shower.
The food was very nice in my opinion it was presented very well and was hot. We did have a chinese night while i was there but they did have other options if you dont like the theme nights.
The pool area is at the front of the hotel and is not over large we spent the day at the beach as weather was lovely. Can see it being hard to get a bed in high season as there did not seem much room but that is like most hotels in Benidorm.
I would return to this hotel again

The food was well presented especially salads, have had better but also had a lot worse, and for what we paid it was adequate. The rooms are ready for a refirb but are clean, only thing missing is a hairdryer but can be borrowed from reception. Didn't go into cabaret room so cannot comment. Pool area O.K. Very good value for money!

| said: After reading revues about this hotel we went with an open mind.
First thing was we requested a lower floor as my husband does not handle heights to well, and surprise surprise we were put on the 11th floor, next morning we asked to be put on a lower floor this was done after I was told by receptionist I should have informed them and I told her we had e/m the hotel and the travel agent also requested the lower floor.
The rooms are ok the decor in the bathroom could do with a spruce up but overall the rooms were ok and the beds were firm not like some hotels we have been to..
The hotel needs to look at there lifts, they are impossible to get and very very warm the fans in them are next to useless.
The food was ok.
The pool could be bigger and I would suggest the hotel could put something up on the stone divider to stop kids standing up on it as it is an accident waiting to happen ..
The location of the hotel is very good, plenty of shops and entertainment on your door step and beach less than 5min walk.
Overall we had a good time, and the hotel is not as bad as some make out, although if we ever go back we would try another hotel,.

| said: Just a quick review of The Hotel Rosamar, I am a frequent traveller to Benidorm and Often try different hotels. This was my first visit to the Rosamar, despite some of the reviews I found the staff very friendly apart from the chef in the dinning area who never spoke or cracked a smile! The rooms are a good size but a little outdated, the hotel enjoys a fantastic position but was let down badly by a limited choice of food. I admit I am not the most adventurous with food, but when you have a choice of two soups and the choice is garlic or fish soup I struggled! Roast beef and Yorkshire pudding on a Sunday served with chips not roast potatoes? And a very poor daily desert section with very limited fresh fruit. There are many better hotels for the same money; The Calypso next door has far superior food. Average hotel but would not stay there again. I am returning to Benidorm next week, but this time staying at The Sol Pelicanos where I have always enjoyed.

| said: After staying in this hotel i would not go back.
Firstly the room is tiny, 4 drawers is not enough for 3 people or more, i had my sons clothes on the seat. My son had a bunk bed that looked like it was away to collapse, no barrier on the top bunk either. The air con was hopeless, a tiny blow of cold air is all we got. The plug sockets only work if the main light is switched on and 2 suddenly stopped working half way into the holiday! The beds though were comfortbale. The walls are so thin, you can hear absolutely everything from next door from the tv to their converstations word for word.
The food was edible but there was no variety, my son lived off chips and ate barely anything. There are themed nights ie chinese but no noodles, no sweet and sour, no egg fried rice, etc. The staff, apart from a couple, were moody and didnt pay much attention to my son who was trying to talk to them!
The entertainment during the day consisted off some english man taking people for games, shuffle board, water polo, mini golf etc but we didnt join in!
Pool got very busy in our 2nd week and was hard to get a sunbed but the pool itself is lovely, especially for children, just dont run as you will slip!!
Location excellent, quiet enough and close to everything in levante end.
Overall dissappointed with hotel but it didnt ruin our holiday.

The hotel is clean. And the maids were super friendly to us. Thats all that is good.
There was a poor selection of food. My son ate nothing the whole time where as at home he eats everything.
I didn't stay for the entertainment as i did not appeal to me. It is meant for the older generation.
i liked the size of the hotel room, but to switch the shower to the bath didn't work. Our aircon was also broken and the only plug socket that worked in our room was in the bathroom. work that out?! You couldn't get a sun bed. and there is no shade at all around the pool which isn't always ideal!
This hotel is not disabled or child friendly! The two ramps they have got, one to get into hotel and one once inside the hotel are so steep the staff have to help both parties down!
They only smile and be nice to you if you have a baby with you. And also seemed more pleased when spanish people were around.
Oh, and if you like to sit on your balcony at night before going to sleep and it gets to midnight you've had it as they turn the lights off!
It was like being on a school trip. Lights off early, poor food, rude staff and happy vibe about the place!

| said: If you want a good hotel, with great staff, good food, clean rooms, and able to keep your room on the last day for a reasonable rate please go somewhere else as this hotel is not the one for you.
The only thing that this hotel has going for it is the location and a reasonable pool area.
The words "customer service" means nothing whatsoever to any of the staff in this hotel from the reception to the diningroom all are surley and unhelpful. The public areas are kept in good condition the rooms however are an other matter. They are all in need of a good clean which they did not get during my stay. I downright refused to accept the first one given to me as it had not been cleaned from the last guest and had ring marks on all the surfaces. The food was the worst I have ever had on my many visits to Benidorm. It is hard to spoil a normal breakfast but this hotel managed it, with eggs half cooked, nearly raw bacon, and pink sausages, and in a country known for its fresh fruit it was lacking during any of the meals. You would have to also find a cleared table which was a rare, and also a knife and fork also rare, you could of course ask the delightful staff but if you were not Spanish then you had no chance.
The evening meal was a real joy to behold,if you found a table that is,if you did not like Tripe Madrid Style, then how does Lamb Stew sound made with Lamb Bones, or you could go to the salad bar with the salad being left over from lunch with no cooked meats. This treat awaits providing you can get out of the lifts which broke down constantly during my stay and in one instance traping people for over 30 minutes. If you like the hotel you can keep you room on one the last day and pay the sum of 40euros for the honour, if you not do this unlike most hotels they will not provide a room to change in. If you need to hire a motorised wheel chair and decide not to hire it from the hotel then they will charge you 4 Euros a day to use their plug.
Give this hotel a miss and go to the Pelicanos or Orange you won't regret it.

| said: The hotel is in a great location, a short walk to the beach and just around the corner from the indoor market, we walked back from aqualandia and it took us about 15 min.
The hotel was spotless and the staff were very nice, rooms made up and fresh towels every day.
The swiming pool was very nice and child friendley, If you never got your towel on a bed by 8.30am you would not get one, and this was after the school term had started so i would hate to see what it would be like in high season.
It was a nightmare trying to get a lift at mealtimes...mega waiting times.....we were lucky as we were only on the 4th floor but i felt sorry for the people on the 14th floor, so remember if you book here ask for a low floor.
The hotel itself seemed to cater for older couples there was nothing in the way of entertainment for our 3 year old, and the acts that we saw i would say that they were aimed at the over 60s.
would we go back again, maybe if it was just the pair of us as the location is first class....but we would not reccomend this hotel for young couples or familys.

| said: The Rosamar has nothing good & nothing bad about it.
In fact it is very run of the mill.
We had a room on the 11th floor. Besides a double bed it had collapsable bunk beds, ideal for putting odds & sods on, but the room without it would have been better The bathroom was not bad with a decent shower.
Our room was on the shady side looking towards the market, and only briefly had the sun on it around 4.30pm. A real major problem with a room on this side was that it was only a few yards from (about 50 from) the under construction Gemelos 26 apartment blocks.
These are two huge towers 20 odd floors high which obviously dwarfed us. This really spoilt what would have a good view plus the work was on going from 8am until 7pm, and hustle and bustle of it all tended to spoil our relaxation on the balcony.
Had we be on the other side we would no only had the sun with piece and quiet but could have relaxed and watched the filming around the Los Pelicanos pool of the Johnny Vegas "Benidorm" so called comedy which was going on for many days.
There are four lifts, but waiting was common around meal times although they could carry up to 10 people.
Not overly impressed with the dining room or food, but there was always something on that could make up a meal with a chef carving meat at every dinner that was pretty good.
We were on full board and found that lunch was very half hearted with what was on offer and a couple of times never bothered with it.
Must say though we spoke to people from the Ambassador and by what they told us of their meals ours seemed to be pretty good.
Entertainment was pretty typical of Benidorm hotels, an English type cabaret act. followed by a Spanish key board player who favoured music for the Spaniards to dance to.
Not a problem as Brits go out on the raz and the locals stop in an sit around empty tables, so I guess they should have their type of music.
The Rosamar has a great location and this is really its strong suit, central and ideal for a stay in Benidorm.
If I could get a really good deal I might at a push go back to the Rosamar, but I feel I will be moving on elsewhere next time.

| said: This is our 5th time to Benidorm in 7 years and this was the worst hotel we've been too.
The hotel is in a great location, the staff were great so were the rooms cleaned every day but many things let this hotel down, down between 7.30-8 am to get sunbeds, entertainment was a joke all catered for the Spanish people, 80% of the hotel holiday makers at the hotel are.
The food was just about edible 4 nights out of 7 tinned ravioli always on show, 1 night it was chicken took it back to eat mega over cooked, the salad and soup was always ok so was the breakfast.
I wanted to use the fitness suite 1 day and was told to pay 7 euros’ by the instructor when the Spanish get it free. The air conditioner is not the best still sweated at night the staff gave us a noisy fan to use! I would advise to go to hotel Orange, Presidenti, Ammbassdor, Venus or Sol instead or the Rosamar

| said: Just back from the Rosamar and had a great time. When we arrived at 1am we were told that the hotel was full and we had to spend 1 night at their sister hotel, the Rosaire, which we weren’t happy about. The Rosaire was a dump and I’ve done a separate review on it.
At 1 o’clock next day we were allocated a room on the 8th floor overlooking the pool of the Calypso. The room was a good size with a double and a single bed, 2 single wardrobes, 4 small drawers and 2 bedside tables. There is a portable TV showing some Sky channels and you need a €20 deposit for the TV remote which is returned at the end of the holiday.
The bathroom was a decent size and the shower was good, hot and powerful. The room and bathroom were very clean.
The aircon could have been colder, but it did help a little. There is a balcony with 2 chairs, a table and a clothes airer.
Food was very good with a lot of choice, a good salad bar and a carving station. There was bread and butter pudding and custard every night. A bottle of wine starts at €4.80, water is €1.10 for 500ml. You can have lunch in the restaurant for €7 which includes a bottle of water.
We never went to the pool, but the beds were all taken by 8am with no-one lying on many of them. That's the Brits abroad for you.
The bar has a happy hour 7.30-8.30pm. There is no smoking anywhere in the hotel apart from the outside terraces and there is an ashtray on the table on the balcony.
The hotel is in a great location, very handy for all the main bars, and there's a supermarket and internet cafe about 150 metres away.
A late check out is €40 until 8pm.
There was building work at the back of the hotel, but we didn’t hear a thing, even when we were outside. The patio doors were excellent and blocking out outside noise.
I cannot comment on the hotel’s entertainment as we were out every night.
I would have no hesitation in going back to the Rosamar although there were a few other hotels we would like to try.

The only problem was sun loungers and I can't blame the Germans on this occassion, people were waiting for the doors to open at 07.30 and fighting over sunbeds, nothing left after 08.00,not a problem for us as we went to the beach but sad for people with young children, then reserved sunbeds not used all day. There are some unbelievably selfish people.Found out at end of holiday that the hotel had no sunbed policy and told to remove towels to reception if unattended.

The hotel was clean and our rooms were cleaned everyday. The aircon was useless, did absolutley nothing, as it was scorching hot this was a problem becuase i made sure i booked a hotel with air con in the room! The location was brilliant, 2 mins from the bars yet you couldnt hear a thing at night. The lifts were a pain, as there was 4 of them and seemed to take forever. Hotel staff were ok, we went out every night so cant comment on the entertainment. We went down to the pool as soon as the doors were unlocked, funny how every single lounger had towels on them ??? we ended up having to go to the pool two hotels away, the sol pelicanos, fantastic pool there, i will be looking at booking that hotel next year.

On arrival staff at reseption were fine got our room straight away (on 7th floor) room was ok a bit dated but fine beds were realy comfy shower good, balcony was very small with 2chairs a table and clothes horse air con kept us cool and it was hot so it worked fine.
Meals were brill a good cooked brekfast with sausage eggs (cooked fresh)cereal fruit and even champers main meal was a plenty roast pork, roast beef, chicken ,fish and loads more on diffrent days sunday dinner was good we even had apple crumbble or bread&butter pudding with custard.
Now some pepole were complaining about the staff well no wonder us britts have become the most unplesant, arrogant and down right rude people of late if pepole would just say please & thankyou you would find they are differant some people have no manners.
Sunbeds now that was a joke the brits were at the doors well before they opend at 7.30 and if they were not open on time they were bangin on the doors some were even going out of hotel and jummpin the wall to put towells down (what a joke )no wonder the spanish dont like us.
Apart from that the hotel was good and I would go back again but not in July (August or May the next time)

nu's were on different nights during our stay.Entertainment can't comment on because did not stay in as Benidorm has so much to offer.
Location of this Hotel is excellent you could not want to be any nearer centre of the resort.Hotel staff were friendly enough especially the head waiter and the maid who cleaned or room.

Hotel in general was in need of a good clean.Lifts seamed to take forever to come especially at meal times.
Food was generally ok but have had better at a 3 star.It was plentifull but a bit repetetive. Breakfast was not very good unless you like greasy food.
Location of hotel was excellent for beach, nightlife and clubs with something to please any taste in nights out.
Most of hotel staff did not make much of an effort to be sociable or polite apart from the poolside bar manager who was a lovely man.
The entertainment that we saw was alright if you are of pensionable age and like songs from 60s and a shuffle on the dance floor, but there is plenty of entertainment within a minutes walk from hotel.
Pool was niceand clean and also good for children, plenty of sunbeds at all times of day, my only complaint would be that there are not enough umbrellas to provide much needed shade when it is realy hot.

The food was average but the menu very varied.
Maybe at the time we visited they were short staffed in the resturant the tables were only set once and if you were not down at seven o'clock for dinner then you would have to hunt about for clean cutlery.
The staff seemed to be under presure and no matter how hard the tried could not keep up with the needs of the resturant

| said: We stayed at the Rosamar for 1 week. Having stayed in several hotls over the past few years we have to say that this was an excellent hotel. Although there was building work going on next door once the balcony door is closed we heard nothing.
The food was really good and there was a carvery every night. The meat was carved off the joint and so it was not in sauce or fat or grease. The breakfast was just what you get in any hotel although anyone wanting fried eggs had them cooked to order so again they were not sitting in any fat or grease.
The hotel was kept clean as was the pool area. There were absolutley loads of sun beds so I am sure there was no need for towels at dawn.
The only fault we found were the lifts. No matter what time of day you needed a lift you had to wait for ages and then by the time it got to your floor they were full. I am a wheelchair user and I have to say it was really hard for us.
Apart from that we had a really good weeks holiday and would definitley use the Rosamar again.
The entertainment was mostly dancing with not much variation and they had some kind of speciality act on at 10pm each night - including a 'parrot show'.

Personally didn't bother with the hotel entertainment but it looked reasonable when we passed through

My first time abroad with my 18 month old and the staff were wonderful, they spoke to him each day and gave him bottles of milk each evening, the bar staff even gave him a cuddly toy.
My parents went to the same hotel in January and enjoyed it so much that we all returned for their Ruby Wedding Anniversary.
Entertainment is not very good unless you like magicians, balancing acts or dancers, but its not very often you stay in the hotel at night.
The new hydro pool, sauna and steam room are excellent! I would definitely go back.

When we arrived in the early morn the reception said there was a cold buffet down stairs if we wanted it, and the hotel was very quiet, we never heard anything all the week that we was there.

The staff here are really friendly and always helpful.
I agree with other reviewers regarding the lifts which are a problem at mealtimes. However I always request a low floor and I use the stairs!
Entertainment is for the older generation i.e flamenco dancing but hey you are in the centre of Benidorm - you dont need hotel entertainment.
I stayed in many hotels in Benidorm and believe me the Rosamar is hard to beat.

The hotel is ideally situated for the beach, shopping, restaurants and nightlife. The hotel was very spacious, clean and bright.
Rooms were cleaned daily and towels changed, plenty of sunbeds if you get up before midmorning, choice of meals in the restaurant excellent, staff friendly and helpful, bar prices fair.
No complaints except for the lifts which can get very busy on change-over days and mealtimes. Do not exceed the 10 people limit as we got stuck with 12 people in and it was very hot and a little scarey!
Would definately stay here again.

The hotel is immaculate and the food was very varied, roast beef and Yorkshires the first night, am I sad or what? But have to say I enjoyed my whole 2 weeks there.
Very central location.
The rooms were a nice size with welcomed air conditioning that you can control yourself.
The only downside to this hotel is the pool area is not big enough and some very sad people come and put their towels on the sunbeds at 7.30 each morning, I witnessed this on the day I flew home.
All in all I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

| said: During our stay road works were being carried out outside the Hotel but this did not cause too much inconvenience. The Hotel is ideally situated near the nightlife and shops, and not too far away from the beach.
Access to the Hotel was good with ramps at the main entrance and at reception (which was good for us as there was a baby in our party so the less inconvenience for us with the pram the better.)
Inside the Hotel was very clean especially around reception and the bar, toilets and internet/card/billiard lounge (which does not seem to be used much) on the ground floor. The lifts could do with a makeover and service. There are 4 lifts (2 for the even numbered floors, 2 for the odd) and during our stay one seemed to break down about once a day. Luckily we were on the third floor so we could walk down - I wouldn't have liked to have been on the upper floors as around meal times you could wait ages for the lift.
The rooms were fairly basic and would be comfortable if occupied by 2 adults. We had 2 rooms, one with 2 adults & 2 children, the other with 3 adults. If there are 3 adults sharing a room in your party don't rely on getting privacy as they cram 3 beds in the one room. The best feature was the air conditioning which meant an extremely comfortable nights sleep.
Each room has a TV (without a remote control). Aparently you have to hire the remote from reception so if you like watching TV on holiday bear this in mind.
Most of our day was spent around the pool. There was plenty of space so it did not seem cramped. The pool was very good and seemed to be cleaned, although we did not see this but no signs of scum, insects, etc floating on surface. Small childrens pool knee deep, large main pool and smaller covered pool. Main pool had a life guard in attendance during the day.
Was not impressed with the food on offer. Had one enjoyable evening meal during the week. Otherwise breakfast and meals were poor, although evening meal was always busy. They are very strict about you wearing long trousers for evening meal.
We did not attend any of the entertainment so this has been rated average.
Overall I enjoyed my stay in the Rosamar. I hear the Hotel is closing for some renovation work soon. Hopefully they will sort the lifts. I would return to this Hotel but not in the near future.

| said: The hotel and surrounding areas were clean enough. Maid service was on a daily basis; made beds, changed towels and gave the room a quick mop (ignored under the beds).
Now, I admit to being a fusy eater but even so, there was hardly any choice whatsover in the restaurant. Eventually, I had to eat out to stave off starvation. The champagne was good though.
No problems with the staff on reception, though my party had few dealings with them. The bar and restarrant staff were generally friendly. No shorts can be worn during evening meal and they are strict about this.
Entertainment was not good at all. A Spanish duo sang in Spanish every night. Competent and pleasant enough but not EVERY night ... please! Some of the other acts included a duo blowing bubbles, the bubble man or something, and parrots riding bikes. Say no more.
Access is generally good for disabled people (NOTE: CAN EVERYBODY ADDRESS THE ISSUE OF ACCESS IN THEIR REVIEWS. IT CAN BE VERY HELPFUL). A few steps out front with a ramp to the side. There were a couple of steps around the reception area, but there were also handrails and a ramp. The worst part was access to the pool - four steps and no hanrail. There was a ramp but it was not that helpful ... great idea, give pepople with mobility problems the furthest dsitance to travel. Novel.
The toilets in reception were nice and clean. But if you need to do anything in there, make sure you do it quickly or all the lights go off. Timers, great idea.
The worst thing of all. The lifts. Four in total, two for odd floors and two for even. They took forever to come, you usually ended up going up and down a few times before the chance came to alight, they were usually cramped, they were very hot inside and they had the strangest heavy metal outer doors I have EVER seen on a lift. What they achieved I'll never know.
There was a great cabaret room in there but that was hardly used.
Better hotels in Benidorm. Rosamar is stuck in the seventies despite the obvious attempts to improve it, it still feels SO SEVENTIES. You wouldn't have to go far to find a better hotel. Just next door, The Calypso looked great.

Reception was good we were allocated room 1419 floor 14 top floor, room 19 end room, overlooking the Sunday market. Rooms are very clean as maid service was good. We had a double bed a wardrobe each draws, a tv, bathroom is excellent with a good power shower. Service in the hotel from staff was good. Food we were full-board i enjoyed the food, but i have to say that it was not brilliant (but i have been spoilt by 4* hotels in tenerife) the breakfasts were usual rubbish bacon and sausage, but fried egg on toast were excellent. Dinner could be well C**p althought the soups were excellent. tea there was always something to eat, but do not believe what is printed on the menu outside as it is never right. Plenty of sun loungers and not a mad rush to get a bed. A bit of a concrete sun bed area. The WORST cleaninless of a swimming pool that i have ever seen. I never saw this pool being cleaned once, and there was always a scum on the top. We did not venture into it. Can't comment about the entertainment as we did not stay in the hotel to see it. But it looked good. there is a large tv room with Sky tv, internet can be accesed for 1 euro for 20 mins not bad. All in all a nice hotel, staff very good, great location, food ediable although not very exciting. Just needs to sort out the pool.

It has with 4 lifts, 2 serving even number rooms, 2 odd number rooms. Very busy at meal times.
No problem with the food, plenty of it and a chef to carve. We stayed at New Year and the meal was excellent
Rooms were average with not much view from balony apart from other high rise hotels. The hotel is not too far from the beach but the building works were going on that time.
The staff in the reception bar were very good & remembered what we were drinking, maybe cos we spent a lot of time in there. Head waiter was very professional, not to keen on reception staff as they could be abrupt.
Chamber maids were very good & thorough.
Couldn't see much entertainment, usual parrot show & ball room dancing which attracted lots of older Spaniards
I dont think we would visit again at New Year as there are a lot of shuffly oldies (we are 50) who would only move quickly when it came to meal times. Maybe it is better at a different time of year.

The hotel was very near to night club and pubs 5 mins to the Black Chicken. The staff had stuff for the kids and teenagers. Pool is great nice and deep for diveing in the pool when you are hot. Kids pool as well. Food - there is all types of food.
Entertainment was too boring and older people will like it much more than children. The cleaner was very good in and out in 10 mins. When you are bored of the hotel night entertainment, go out to the nightclubs and comedy clubs and don't watch Sticky Vicky shes not for kids and teenagers.
Thats my holiday - a great time in Spain!

Doing this allows you to book a transfer to and from Alicante airport into Benidorm. The cost was £12 return which we thought was reasonable. We have stayed in the Rosamar before and it is our favourite hotel being in a great position and also for it's high standards. We haven't booked with Beninter before but I can't sing their praises highly enough. On check in you take along your e.mail receipt to the hotel and we were checked in in minutes. Incidentally we were full board which is something we haven't done before either but as there were four under sixteens it was great value for money. The rooms as usual are basic but exceptionally clean as are the bathrooms. The food is plentiful and the youngsters loved the different soups which were on offer each night. (There is always two choices) So even if the main courses were not to their liking the soup was always a hit. As were the desserts. Unlimited ice cream and cakes etc. What more could you ask. The staff in the dining room are very pleasant and were always polite and smiling. It must be difficult as some travellers do not treat the waiters with the respect they are due. They work long hours all year long. My only gripe is a silly rule they have which means if you are watching the entertainment at night they do not serve coffee. I brought my cup of coffee down from upstairs and sat down with my husband (who had beer) to watch the end of the entertainment and about two or three different waiters told me in no uncertain terms that I was not allowed to drink coffee. I was made to take my cup and sit outside. Petty or what? All in all the Rosamar is a great value for money hotel whose standards are consistently high from one year to the next. We can't see past it really and we've stayed in quite a few. Will definitely return.

| said: Just returned from the Hotel Rosamar - October, 2002 and found it to be a very good hotel. We enjoyed very comfortable beds and our room was kept spotless by the very efficient staff. Towels were changed every day and the whole of the hotel was indeed very clean and all the staff were friendly and efficient. I cannot find a single bad thing to say about the standards here.
Food was buffet style and was very good indeed and there was plenty of choice at every meal. The roast meat dish of the evening was carved and dished out by the chef - but everything else was help yourself and you could literally eat as much as you liked. The wine that was brought around on a trolley by the drinks waiter was very reasonably priced and very good too and there was a decent selection of wines to choose from. We stayed half board but when we had an evening out planned and wouldn't be there for dinner, we were able to ask at the reception to exchange our evening meal for a lunch time meal and this was not a problem.
The pool area was the most dissapointing aspect of the hotel and in my opinion it wasn't particularly up to much and I found it to be far from the same high standards of the rest of the hotel and it certainly could do with being made into more of a hotel feature. It was kept spotlessly clean (as is all of the hotel) and there were plenty of sunbeds available but it just lacked a certain something! Maybe some background music and some pretty lighting in the evening would create a bit more of an atmosphere around the pool and during the day it could do with an outdoor poolside bar. There is a bar that opens out onto the pool but you had to serve yourself and perhaps a waiter service around the pool would be a nice touch for the guests. Also, another big mistake on the hotels part was that there was no snack bar around the pool area and if you were having a day around the pool and were on half board the only choice you had from what I could see were pre-packed sandwiches or you could opt to use the buffet lunch available in the dining room. If you simply wanted a burger or a pizza etc - this was not available.
The hotel entertainment seemed to be varied and mainly suited to the maturer guests - and for those that enjoy ballroom dancing this hotel would definitely suit you and for those who enjoy a good comedian or singer this hotel is only minutes away from all the bars and clubs that offer so many different acts from comedians, drag acts, singers, hypnotists and even some very "naughty" artistes etc! So even if the hotel entertainment is not your cup of tea - you will be sure to find something to suit you in the immediate vicinity!
To sum it up - The Rosamar is a very nice hotel, clean and comfortable and the food was excellent and it is situated in a central location - so for those of you who may have walking difficulties you will find you are only minutes from the beach and promenade, not to mention the many shops, bars and restaraunts. The Square - which is a favourite with the youngsters is also only a short stroll away.
If I were to return to Benidorm I would definitely return to the Rosamar Hotel and for anyone thinking of staying at the Rosamar you will not be dissapointed by your choice.

Bar prices extortionate, 2,70 euro for what they call a pint but in reality is 3/4 pint, small carton of sangria 1,80 euro. Kids club non-existant, krazy golf in poor state of repair, 20 euro deposit required to play any activity(returnable) Evening entertainment consists of Spanish dancing or a magic show(same people) neither lasts longer than 30 mins. When we checked out they coudn't find my passport, their reply was " we can't locate your passport, sorry " as if it was a trivial matter, then proceeded to deal with the next customer. My overall impression is of a hotel more suited to the older Spanish population as their food and facilities suggested such.

The facilities at the hotel were excellent, indoor and outdoor swimming pools, tennis, mini golf, table tennis, pool (you pay to hire equipment for sports but you get your money back on return) Activities such as bingo, water polo etc were put on. The only downside were the staffs attitudes, we had to wait for our rooms, but locals were given theres straight away. All in all a good holiday.
