It was a few weeks after I'd booked this holiday I checked the reviews and started to panic as they were all bad but we had nothing to worry about as it was fine.

Rooms were basic but cleaned five times in one week, food was fine apart from one day (spanish dont make nice curries) pool area was clean and the staff apart from one person were really helpfull.

The location is great as your close to all the clubs and beach... the only real problem was the lifts as they are small and break down quite often but they are up and running again in less than 10 mins...

I must say to the people that have run this hotel down you get what you pay for and value for money I'd give this hotel 8 out of 10..

I dont know what people expect when they go on holiday for the money you pay the Rosaire does give good value for money. ok it needs a good refurbish but its clean and its situated right in the heart of Benidorm for everything. Entertainment in the hotel this should not worry you there are thousands of clubs & pubs in walking distance so whats the moaning about.
The staff are great except the reception area they couldent care less I would sack them all in all the rosaire is a great little hotel where going back in feb 09 cant wait

Visited this hotel with a group of 11 friends on a hen weekend. We were on the very top floor, floor 12 which gave us a sea view through the high rises. The room was of reasonable size for 2, also very clean. We were only there for 3 days but room was cleaned twice. The food wasnt great but to be expected from a 3 star which was also catering for all inclusive tourists. The location of the hotel was great for the beach and the nightlife. My experience in Benidorm wasnt good as I was mugged on the first night, but the hotel receptionist was quite helpful providing a phone and numbers for the police etc. I wouldnt visit this hotel again purely because I wouldnt visit Benidorm again.

Just got back from a week in this hell hole they like to call a hotel!!
I have been to Benidorm about 20 times and stayed in all kinds of hotels but this by far is the worse ever!! The only good thing it had going for it was that it was central and thats it the bad things I will list for you as there are so many!!!!!
1. Dingy, tatty old fashioned and dirty in public areas and bedrooms.
2. Staff vile and unfriendly
3. Drinks watered down to near enough water
4. Air Con not working in the bedrooms
5. Bitten to death when I never have been before and not sure if they were in the beds
6. Entertainment was really grim in the evening
7. Food not cooked and cold most days
8. 2 tiny lifts covering 12 floors
9. 1 member of staff on the upstairs bar and he is so slow and miserable and every thing you buy goes in a computer against your hotel room (very strange)
I hated every minute of this holiday and would say even if its cheap it isn't cause not only do you need to eat out all the time but also have to go out to drink too.
DONT DO IT PLEASSSSSSEEEEE

The hotel was terrible, the only positive thing was that we got our rooms cleanned and beds changed each day but this is expected for an all inclusive hotel.

Where do I begin with this review... I nightmare from start to finish.

The food was diabolical, and if you wanted to have a snack before your main meal you had more chance of getting sticky vicky to get a desk job in a quiet suburb of sunny Spain.

The bar service was unprofessional and insulting, The entertainment was a complete joke. When we arrived at the hotel and went for a afternoon drink it was a two drinks per person at the bar. I had no problem with this. For the first 3 days I went to the bar and ordered 2 pints of lager at a time. On the 4th day I was told that I was only allowed to get 2 halfs of lager at a time. I asked the bar tender and he rudely explained to me that a pint was classed as 2 drinks. I accepted this and calmly ordered 2 halves and to my horror as I thought the issue had been resolved the bar tender continued to rant and rave at me over the drinks.

Another instance, my friends and I were sat outside having a quiet drink when a glass was thrown from a balcony from at least 50 to 70 feet above us. This could have seriously injured or even killed someone. When I returned several hours later the glass was still on the floor no one had attempted to clean it up.

I had spoken to numerous other hotel users of the Rosaire and one woman told me that she had had all of her money stolen and that the hotel gave her a police number to phone. The woman who was holidaying for the first time with her husband and baby had to borrow money to make the phone call at a pay phone. The hotel offered no support for her and her family.

While I was there, there was at least 6 thefts within two weeks. My advise is stay well away from the rosaire, even if someone gives you free bookings run in the other direction clutching tight hold of your money and possessions!

Arrived quite late due to airline (flying out of Prestwick) only one person on reception to cover a full bus, luckily I was off the bus first letting husband pick up the cases so I was first in the very long queue (we were up to the top floor, unpacked, changed and back out again the people were still checking in! Anyway All Inclusive finished at 11pm so we missed it but did get two for one however couldnt tell the difference between the vodka/coke and the bacardi/coke. One bar near reception opens 10 am and closes 7pm from there on the bar/tavaren at the enterence was open from 7pm till late. Toasties and hot dogs over the bar in between dining room openeing times.

Hotel we found to be clean however there was a funny smell in the room when we arrived, found out it was actually the top bed cover - I think it was because the maid made the bed then washed the floor perhaps with not such a clean mop! once I throw them into the top cupboard the smell was gone (it was warm enough so did'nt need them anyway!. Maid cleaned everyday with a change of towels everyday and the sheets were changed once over our 7 days (standard hotel practice).

The food was not the best in the world, fried breakfast every morning, cereal, toast, rolls, cold meat and cheese no fresh fruit in the morning. I found the coffee and tea not great. Lunch and Dinner was repetative but could say there was something to eat every evening even if it was salad! Have had better sweets in the past in this hotel - but since they have gone to All Inclusive basis the standard has slipped somewhat.

The location is great, near all the attractions / clubs / pubs etc, Sunday and Wednesday market and indoor market and a great long walk into the Old Town. We had a sea view (room 1206) and was just two streets down.

Hotel staff were the same as any other hotel ask them nicely and they will go out of their way, demand (which we saw people doing) and by god you'll wait - I do feel sorry for some of the staff, I find people abroad expect the earth and I feel they wouldnt even talk to one of their own kind in the manner that they do hotel staff - one glaswegien party comes to mind - give me a bad name I hate to say!! The maid was very nice and got a hello (Ola') every morning.

There is no entertainment for children in this hotel. As a party of 5 adults this obviously did'nt bother us, we had a few drinks in the evening then headed out, although the wee man on the organ was quite a happy chappy but again same music every evening.

As the standard of the hotel has gone down since it has gone all inclusive and I wouldnt say it is a 3 star anymore, I will not be going back to this hotel again.

We were booked into the Rosamar Hotel for a week, but on arrival at 1am we were told that the hotel was full and we had to spend 1 night at their sister hotel, the Rosaire.

We were allocated a room on the 2nd floor. The room was small, dark and dingy. The balcony juts into the room. The room didn't feel clean, nor did the bathroom although it looked OK on the surface.

The bed had a hard plastic sheet on the mattress which I hate. There was a cold meat salad left in the room which I didn't eat given the state of the rest of the hotel.

Breakfast was horrible, the cornflakes were like cardboard and the fried food looked disgusting.

I certainly wouldn't stay here again.

The Hotel Rosaire is very basic to say the least. We found cigarette burns on our sheets on arrival, we had no light on the balcony and no shower fitting.

However, the maids did come in every day to make beds and clean the bathroom.

The food was awful and certainly not worth what we paid for.

Food variety was extremely poor, absolutely nothing for children on any of the menus on any of the days. Choice at Breakfast was extremely poor. Started eating out more after the first few days.

In terms of cleanliness they changed towels every day and that was that. Room and pool area were not very clean.

Location is good though but hardly the basis for booking a hotel considering the number of hotels in Benidorm.

Not good value for money whatsoever considering what else you could have booked.

Really dull hotel, dull colours poky rooms, small pool area which is shaded for vast majority of the day.

No entertainment, just some old cowboy doing karaoke cowboy songs every night.

Staff were ok no problems there.

You can use the sister Hotel the Rosamar though, this is quite a good hotel and you have full use of their facilities if you want.

Would not recommend this hotel to anyone especially if you have kids.

The hotel itself is in a good location; ideal for the pubs, shops & beach.

The pool could be made safer; we saw two accidents in two days by the steps, although there were health & safety reps there a day or two after the accidents so hopefully things will improve soon.

The staff overall were very good. Only problem was some unruly residents who flouted the no smoking signs and bothered some young women - nothing was said or done about it.

The entertainment consisted of a guy in a cowboy hat singing songs that all sounded the same, which is no wonder since he only seemed to know three guitar chords.
One of the bar staff in particular, Miguel was great; constantly in a good mood, chatty and great with kids.

The pool could be a bit bigger, but according to my wife.. so could most things - You have to make do with what you've got and enjoy it!!!!

Spent 5 days in the hotel, found it to be clean and basic (as described by other reviewers).

Food was generally good with a wide selection, especially at breakfast. We found the staff to be friendly and helpful.

It was noisy at night - but hey this is Benidorm - The hotel is situated in a good spot for both the nightlife and beach.

Would stay there again.

My husband and I found this hotel at a very noisy position in Benidorm. We did not get much sleep because of this the windows and doors where wooden and provided no sound proofing. It was not a bad hotel but could have been better if they updated the rooms a little.

The food was of a good standard and always a lot of choice, but the bacon at breakfast was always pink and for the evening meal you where expected to buy drinks even water, tea or coffee are not provide free either, people with children this could work out expensive as you are not allowed to take your own drinks in.

We found that the hotel staff did not speak English very good and sometimes even the easiest of questions seemed difficult for them to understand. One day we had no towels left and it took us three and half hours and numerous calls to reception before they finaly arrived.

Overall the hotel was ok but I would not return, there are a lot better hotels available for tha same price.

The hotel was very well situated for the beach and nightlife.

The staff were very friendly and helpful, food was always hot and value for money rooms basic but clean, pool area needs some attention pool not very clean.

Not suitable for young children as not enough for them to do. Entertainment is mainly for older people.

We enjoyed ourselves and will probaly return again.

The cleanliness overall was good, it always seemed clean. Your room was cleaned every day if you requested it to be as they was a sign you could hang on the outside of the door. One way it said Do Not Disturb and the other said Please Make Up Room.

The hotel food was great different choice every night.

The Location of the hotel couldnt be better!

The staff were very friendly except a few who never smiled!

The entertainment was poor as it was only aimed at elder people!

I wouldnt recommend this hotel if you are travelling with children as there is nothing for them to do, there is only a pool table which cant amuse all kids!

We have just come back and we loved it. It was basic but very clean and tidy and the meals were good but not over adventurous but was worth it.

The location was excellent straight out the hotel and along the road were all the bars restaurants and everything anyone would want.

It could do with some music or anything to brighten up the bar area.

The sun did not always shine when we were there but if it was we would not have used the pool area it was dirty and messy maybe because it was November and nobody was using it.

Overall the hotel it a good cheep £15 a night full board hotel and was clean nothing more than we wanted we would go back but in the summer when the sun came out.

Hotel looked really nice from outside. Not very good if your disabled with steep ramp and stairs to climb. Staff not interested in you. Air cond was broken and was not repaired for three days despite reporting it; it even then did not work properly. Had to buy electric fans and adapters to try and keep us cool.

Room were black, floor was never washed in the two weeks and we had to strip beds ourselves and place in bath to get washed. You could write your name on the furniture with your fingers, we ended up cleaning ourselves, we did get clean towels everyday but they have seen better days.

Only two lifts and on a few occasions they did not work, food was terrible, fish fingers for a main meal come on, we only got potatoes in the two weeks we were there. Chips chips and more chips although they were hot and tasty. we felt we were rushed whilst eating our meals, felt sorry for waiters they were run of their feet they basically did jobs for four people, most of the two weeks one toast machine did not work so you had to wait about 15 mins some mornings to get to the machine. One morning both machines were broken, tea machine broken and fruit juice machine broken.

One of my parties fell on wet floor no sign was up. she hurt knee and plate smashed and nearly cut her eye, no staff came to help just other guests ,waiter put table cloth on floor but no sign, was reported to reception but no one enquired about her,

Pool area was dirty and beds were black, pool had sand in it and sticking plasters. Next day plaster was found on pool side, trays and dirty napkins were still lying at pool side, no life guard.

And sun disappears from pool by afternoon.

Hotel staff were a varied group either they ignored you or did chat, the waiters worked really hard I take my hat of to them, once in dining room waiter was putting clean serving spoons in containers one fell on floor and that was also put in container with clean spoons.

From poolside you could see chefs coming out to smoke but we also saw a chef walking in and out of door smoking then wiping face on his chef whites,

No entertainment as such you go to sister hotel for that, although if your into country and western there is a saloon bar downstairs.

We attended the happy hour and the got the same drinks everyday but was not charged the same everyday.

One of the party this was her first trip abroad what a disappointment and this holiday cost us over two thousand pounds, says it’s a three star, no way.

I would not go back here and would not recommend anyone to go. Food is bland and awful.

Due to many complaints that spell the night before we left head chef was out carving ham of the bone. Buffet more pleasing to eye but I think a bit too late,

We were a little concerned about what this hotel was going to be like having read other reviews on it, but really it is'nt all that bad.

We could not fault the cleanliness the rooms were cleaned everyday, if we left the dirty towels in the bath they were replaced. One day my little girl had an accident in bed and we just told reception and the whole bedding was changed.

The food was always hot(not a lot of choice but they have about 11 daily menus so we didn't get the same thing twice). The restaurant is a little on the small side and everyone seemed to go down for dinner at 6.30pm, so avoid that time or you'll be queuing for ages.

The pool area is a little basic could do with a pool bar but it was always clean, had no trouble getting a sunbed and the kids loved it.

All in all a good clean basic hotel and we wouldn't hestitate in going back.

Just come back from the Rosaire, Two divorced 53 year old's and two 17 year olds (Friends dauter and her mate)Must say they love it at the Rosare mainly because they met a youth rugby team that was stopping there, they all got on and had a great time.
The hotel is basic but very clean, the food is quite good something for everybody, you wont go hungry, the pool is very small but OK to cool of in had no trouble getting a bed at all.The Rosare is idealy situated for the beach and for the night life.
All in all the rosare is a base to eat and sleep, with every thing else round it.One warning to those going there DO NOT use the money exchange at the side of the hotel. Go to Shealer in the market just up the road or the one across from the market.Have a good time we did.

Second year in a row for us in this hotel and ive got say there was a substancial differance this year, the pool areas was better with more sunloungers yes you have the towels going down at 8 am but most times you get one also there is a load more seating provided at the pool major improvement. Also the food was better than last year we were told that some of the menus from the rosemar had been used in the rosaire and yes i noticed a differance slighly more of a choice also more fresh fruit was laid out with melons, cherries and even fresh strawberries. I even tried the fish most nights and it was lovley which is rare for me to eat a lot of fish.

The staff were as friendly as they were last year which came in handy as my daughter developed a cough and we went to one of the waiters who had a british wife and managed to translate what kind of cough, spain dont do tickly coughs - dry cough.

The rooms were pretty much the same but they added a tv which kinda proved tricky as there was only 1 plug point in the rooms. The cleaners were in the rooms every day so lesson if you want your bed changed dont make it.

At the botton of the hotel they have put in a grab a toy machine which our kid went daft for but the good thing here was it was 2 euros and you kept going till they got a toy which i though was excellent.

I come from the north of ireland, although i live here in spain. my family visited us for 2 weeks and we decided that we would spend 4 days in this beautiful, friendly, clean and inexspensive hotel.

despite a mix up in the bookings which i had made with the receptionist a month earlier, this was rectified by the most friendliest hotel manager that i have yet met rueben.

we enjoyed our stay very much, with maid service every day, air conditioning, etc., we enjoyed very much our stay. we checked oot of the hotel on the 4th day, and unfortunately my father took very sick while we were in a cafe having breakfast, he needed to lie down for a couple of hours somewhere cool. i returned to the hotel and the receptionist thought that there were no rooms available for him, we offered to pay for a room for the whole day. she called rueben, and he told her of one room which was available at no charge. i cannot begin to thank him enough, and my father recovered 4 or 5 hours later and we headed home.

i use this hotel quite often, and will continue to do so, and if anyone out ther is considering a holiday in benidorm, then i recommend that you contact this hotel direct, and sort out your own flights via the internet. thank you all the staff at the rosaire

Just got back from a winter break at this hotel 2 adults 2 kids Nov 9-13 and Benidorm regulars both with and without kids. Flight and Hotel self booked.

The most basic hotel we've stayedd in in Benidorm but the cheapest at this time (Fiesta week) and the only one that could accommodate us, 4 persons, as most were full.

The hotel is officially a 3 star which should be looked at again as it should be a 2. All UK tour operators rate it as a 2 in their brochures which seems to be near the mark.

The hotel is dated and needs a refurb as it is very basic in todays standard and in comparison to other Benidorm accommodation but would be acceptable as a 2 star. The lobby and communal areas are clean and in good repair with the bar area being all in the same space. No entertainment is offered.

The restaurant is, again, basic and a little like a canteen. The seats bottoms are filthy and stained with food which calls into question the hotels hygiene. The food was in line with this type of hotel but warmer than normal. Still the same bacon, gammy beans, greasy chips but aren't they all?

Rooms basic and clean with no TV (can be hired), beds OK, same paper thin walls. Bathroom dated with loose sink and tin bath with patched up enamel.

Staff were emotionless and receptionist didn't acknowledge me for 5 mins as she was on a private call.

Major plus points are price (£55 4 persons per night) and the best location in Benidorm if you forget about the car park construction work (separate topic).

Nothing mega bad though just make sure you pay the right price or you'll be disappointed.
As a 3 star 2/10 as a 2 star 7/10

Just back from the Rosaire and i'd like to tell anyone going there that the hotel is good, if a bit basic.

Plus point was the food which was excellent.
Minus point was the pool which to be honest was a bit of a joke and be prepared to be queing at 7.55am to get a sunbed.

The rooms were adequate if a bit small and you are slap bang in the middle of all the clubs and pubs which is good at the end of the night, but surprisingly it is not too noisy even with the building work going on which won't spoil anyones holiday.

Word of warning for anyone going soon, mossie repellent, we were eaten alive and had to sleep with the balcony door closed. If you want to get the best out of the air conditioning keep all doors closed including toilet door and keep the curtains closed, also, the hotel staff don't tell you this, but on your last day, if you have to hang about for your bus, they have a room you can go to to freshen up.

If you are going on a trip and have to leave before breakfast ask for a breakfast box. Our rep didn't tell us, so we went hungry, anyway, have a great time and if you find carriages its a must and its clean well suitable for the kids.

Just back from the rosaire, we travelled as a party of 3 and 4 we requested rooms together which we got, i also requested a lower apartment as i have a tricky 4 year old again which i got. The apartments were clean and the cleaner was in the room every day with clean towels if needed and changed the beds every other day and took all the rubbish away. The staff were really helpfull, i had a sick child and got medicine from the chemist and the receptionist helped me translate what i had been given. The kids 4 and 9 loved it as as they learned 'ola' and 'gratsi' the staff thought it was great and would say it whenever they saw the kids, also all the waiters in the restraunt would come over and talk, play keek and such like so kids seem more than welcome. As for the food, there seems to be mixed feelings about it. For breakfast there were 3 differant cereals, prunes, fresh fruit, ham and cheese, then the cooked breakfast, eggs- sometimes there were boiled eggs, scrambled eggs - which were nice the first week but i couldnt eat them the second, fried eggs - you had to watch which ones you lifted and the timing of them getting put out sometimes they were rock hard, sometimes they were hard on top but soft underneath and sometimes the whites were very runny, there was allways 2 types of bacon, allways baked beans, and sometimes sausages which were lovley, and also fried tomatoes. So all in all breakfast had something for everyone with bread, fruit juice, tea and coffee also a toaster. They had a good choice for dinners, soup every day with bread rolls, but the days i tasted the soup it all tasted the same and a bit salty. The cold buffet was good for the first week but come the second you got a bit fed up with the same things a ham and lettuce coleslaw and mushroom and onion mayonaise dish, there were others but they had peppers in them and i cant eat peppers, also plates of cold meats and cheese. The hot meals were sometime missleading, you could read on the bord what was for dinner and look forward to it then get in and it wasnt what you thought it was example one day macaroni the kids thought yes but when we got in it was a tomato based pasta, also chicken curry turned out to be a leg of chicken in a curry sauce with no rice. They tried to cater for everyone, a kids dish - hamburger, hot dog, croquets - ham and cheese were lovely, a fish dish or sometimes 2, a red meat, a white meat and a veggie dish, plenty of fresh veggies too broccoli, cauliflower, peas, broad beans, carrots and mixed veg. So the choice was there as for the quality most days we thought the food was good but you could hear other people moaning 'same old' 'ive had much better' some said if there is a party of spannish in the hotel the food is much better, the first week there was a group of spannish in and the food was better, but for the price we paid and the hotel rating overall i thought we got a fantastic deal.

I would say though take a safe out as i had a pair of sunglasses go walk about, nothing expensive a pair that resembled oakleys but they dissapeared off of the table and never reappeard, we kept the phones and cameras locked in a safe but didnt think sunglasses would walk.

We (two 50-somethings) visited this hotel in the last week of February 2003. It is situated amongst all the night life of Benidorm, and is only a short walk away from the beach (flat walk).

The hotel itself is one of the smaller ones in Benidorm, and as such, does not have the extensive range of food that the larger establishments have. This, however, does not detract from the quality, and the meals were some of the best we have eaten. There was always soup and salad, and a choice of vegetarian, fish and two types of meat, as well as four different vegetables and different types of potatoes every day (not chips with everything!) The desert section even had bread and butter pudding one day. The main thing about the food here was that it was always hot. A definite bonus.

The bedrooms seemed to be larger than normal, with the added advantage of having a sofa bed to sit on, as well as the normal balcony furniture. Our room was at the front of the hotel, which had the sun all day, as well as providing a viewing platform for the building works.

There was a lounge/bar/television area at ground floor level, as well as a bar/nightclub in the basement, which was open to non-residents.

As it is a sister hotel, residents of the Rosaire could use the facilities (indoor pool, etc.) of the Rosamar, although there was no-one checking when we did, so I suppose anyone could have done the same from any hotel or apartment.

The only downside was the two tiny lifts, which could only take four people each (and this was at a push), but I wouldn't let this put you off. It is a hotel that I would have no hesitation in recommending or going back to, and seems worth more than its official two stars.

My family and I chose this Hotel because it was reasonably priced and it is close to the Beach and all of the entertainment in Benidorm, so I can recommend it for location. The Hotel itself is Basic, but spotlessly clean, and the food is some of the best I have tasted from any Spanish Hotel I have stayed in. The staff were very friendly and were always available to help you when needed.

On a down side, I would have to comment that I think this Hotel would be unsuitable for people with disabilities and wheelchair users as there is a steep ramp at the entrance of the Hotel. Also, the two lifts are extremely small, so it would be difficult to fit a wheelchair and somebody pushing the wheelchair into the lift.

All in all, I would recommend this Hotel to anybody who wants a Hotel with a good location for the beach and the night life, but who are not concerned with "Luxury"

Excellent value for money!!
