the food was cold and the meat and fish was dry and tough were it was kept warm we were there for two weeks and the food was the same both weeks we ate out a lot.
the location was good not to easy to get to the beach you have to try to get accross a busy road although there is a crossing you carn't see what is comming up from the under pass and this crossing was the only way we could acess the beach as we had a child in a wheel chair.
as far as the staff we found them to be very rude and very unhelpfull.
the entertainment was rubish we didn't want to see miss aquq marina one night then mr aquq maria the next
we went to see the parrot show which was surpose to start at 9pm they came arund taking photo's n he sow didn't start until 9.45 and was finished by 10.00 thats not what we were expecting.
we were put on the first floor but because we had a wheel chair we had to use the lifts but we could never get in them we were waiting upto 30 mins just to get down stairs for meals.

| said: We stayed here with our 3 sons ages 8,14 and 16. We had a wonderful stay and would definitely recommend this hotel.
The rooms were modern, a good size and very clean. We were very lucky with the weather and were able to spend time in the swimming pool every day, which again was very clean.
We found the food of a very good standard. It was always hot and there was plenty of choice. Our fussy children always seemed to find something to eat. There were different activities for the children during the day, the hotel even had its own cinema.
The evening entertainment was a bit mixed but you could always go to other hotels.
Santa Susanna is a good base to visit Barcelona for the day. Barcelona is about 1hr away on the train and the train is very cheap. We visited Santa Suzanna at the end of October and it was coming to the end of the season so there was not very much going on, the waterparks and boat trips were all closed. Santa Suzanna is a nice resort and good base to visit other resorts along that coast

Went with a friend and we are in our sixties. The hotel was spotless, never saw anything on the dining room floor even though there were over 1000 guests.
We weren't sure about queuing to go into the dining room, but it moved very quickly and all tables had tablecloths changed before we were shown to our seats. Not sure why there have been complaints about the food.
There was a large selection of salads and pasta & rice every day and a hot meal selection although this was never very hot. There were things we didn't like, but there was still plenty to choose from.
Bedrooms were just as spotless and all the staff spoke to us even if it was just to say hello in spanish. Bar staff were excellent. Our only complaint was the evening entertainment. Not to our liking, great for children though.
The location was perfect, easy to reach most places or just go for a walk.
We would definitely go to the hotel again.

Cannot fault the staff or the cleanliness of the hotel as it was first class.10 min walk to the train station to go to barcelona which only cost 6 euros return with no time limit on your return.
The pool area is very big and lots of sun beds but the pool was ice cold( the ave daily temp was 23c).
The entertainment was poor most nights apart from the odd one but none of the acts spoke any english. during the day there is no entertainment at all so you have got to keep your self busy.
The food was not up to much with not a lot of choice , nothing much for the kids apart from chips, could tell it was the end of the season as they were getting rid of all the stock, also never hot just warm no matter what time you went for your meals. One night my son had some chicken that was not cooked properly. You cannot take your drinks into the restaurant even if you got them in the hotel bar so you have to buy your drinks from the restaurant bar and it not cheap. We changed one evening meal for lunch but this was no better and breakfast was the same beans, fried eggs, sausage all just look warm, milk for the cereal was always warm. Only good thing was that the bread buns were fresh each day.

| said: The hotel cleanliness is very good and our rooms were cleaned daily, and it was good to see spillages, breakages, etc around the hotel cleaned up promptly.
Having booked for two weeks we found the choice of food slightly limiting (but take into account the multi-national tastes and cultures to be accomodated - not bad). Range of deserts very good. Hardly had to queue for access to restaurant.
My first impression was disappointing in that I had to queue at Reception for 30 minutes only to be told that my room of the three we had booked was not ready (this was at midday on a Saturday). Reception was the weak link with few staff on duty especially at peak times, and did not seem overly helpful. That said though cleaning, bar and waiter staff and the Animacio's were very polite and helpful. But for Reception would award 5/5.
Entertainment facilities not bad. Some of the acts for the cocktail bar were good, while others not so. Animacio shows were good (Miguel and Frankie are real stars). Children are fairly well catered for with Kids Club and general amenities to pint they wanted to stay. Pool was very good but ensure you get your towels on sunbeds reasonably early i.e. no later than 7am if you want to get a good spot.
Hotel has diverse nationalities of customers, but it does not matter if you cannot speak any Spanish as most staff have a grasp of English. At the same time hotel security appeared to be good with cctv coverage and visible patroling security guards.

There was a bit of wait for the food however well worth while, lots of choice from salads to cold meats and usual English delights.
Can't fault the hotel maybe a little quite but if you walk 5 Min's its all on your doorstep so you can take it or leave it. Many days were spent on the beach very clean and shallow waters. Night time activities around the hotel were OK but if your looking for a more livelier environment walk in to town.
All the staff were brilliant club was a relaxing break for the kids and us would have no problem in returing again.

We had a double room,my Daughter and family had a family room along the corridor,Our room was at the Back of the hotel facing inland. The view was very good ,but i had left my binoculars at home.
It was a very busy week though everything went smoothly.Lifts were easily available and queueing for the dining room was minimal.Bar staff were efficient,in the entertainment bar they were first class.
There was a good range of food, including various theme nights, all in all better than expected. We ate out one evening this though, was a must for us.We could not visit this coast without a trip to Pineda.
A visit to STEVENS BAR is a must. The food is great the welcome is even better,AND the man himself is quite mad.

The food was very good, if you don't want to queue for breakfast get there before 8.45, otherwise you could have up to 15 min wait.
Breakfast is open to 10.30. There was no waiting for the evening meal whatever time we went.
Towels were put out on beds round the pool, but you could still find somewhere even at 10.30. The terraces were quieter and no towels out there!
Would visit this hotel again.

The food was excellent, lots of variety every day (could'nt wait for mealtimes) the hotel itself was very clean lots of maids around at all times.
The entertainment could have been a bit better, but our teenage daughters enjoyed it.
Only problem we had was the sun loungers, people put their towels on them and then disapeared for hours, ended up having an arguement over them something should be done about towels being put on at 6am in morning, if they are not going to use the beds straight away then this should not be allowed.

The food was excellent, always plenty of choice for all nationalities and always hot.
Location was ideal for us as not far from the beach and shops on your doorstep literally, the street market was very good. Short walk away many other shops.
All the staff made us very welcome and nothing was too much trouble for them.
We did not watch the entertainment very often as we usually went into the town at night to walk off our evening meal but on the odd occasional we did it was very good.
I would have no hesitation to recommend this hotel. It was first class.
Thank you all for a wonderful holiday.

Staff were very helpful and pleasant and the food was above average for a 3 star hotel.
Beach is nearby and you can walk to neighbouring resorts on either side, Barcelona was an hour away in the train and was only about £12 return for 2 people.
Entertainment was not to all tastes but how could it be with over 1000 guests, only a short walk away were plenty other hotels where you could enjoy live music every night,
a pleasant flat walk for anyone with walking difficulties, secure baggage, and excellent shower facilities were a bonus if you have a late flight.
I would have no hestiation in returning to any of the Aqua Hotels if the occassion arose.

Food to a high standard with plenty of varity. Large swimming pool even though cold was clean, kiddies pool also cold but again clean. Plenty of sunbeds available, can also hire sunbed matresses at a cost of 1 euro per day. Pool bar service of a high standard with staff friendly and attentive.
Kids club well worth using open from 10am till 7pm with a wide range of activities available. Market outside hotel 1 day per week that did not affect your privacy. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to friends or family we look forward to going back at some point in the near future.

Staff were helpful and friendly. I think the part time life guard was really keeping guard on the sun lounges and mats.

Day time bingo and everyone (yes everyone)joined in.
Only down side was the near by train line, but having said that we used it to travel about.
We would go again.

| said: We are just back from staying at this hotel my husband, myself and our 4½ year old daughter and cant wait to go back. this hotel is perfectly situated for the shops, beach and pubs. The restaurant and staff were out of this world - it didnt matter what time we ate dinner or breakfast there were always plenty of tables and food - infact what a choice. i was worrying about food for my daughter but she tried a lot and loved it. the hotel entertainment was superb something for everyone, it starts a wee bit late but we always had siesta in afternoon so that our daughter was refreshed for the kiddies disco. The kiddies pool was nice but freezing plenty of sunbeds to be had and that was with the hotel very busy. The weekly market is right outside the hotel, theres a local train/bus which takes you round santa susanna costs 3euros and lasts about an hour - recommend you go on this. The only thing that annoyed my about this holiday were the hotel receptionists they i think like to deal with germans/italians/spanish rather that accomodate the british nevertheless i would highly recommend this hotel to anyone!

The hotel was very clean, and the staff friendly, the entertainment was okay,

The refurbishments for last year have improved the look of the hotel corridors and bathrooms with the welcome addition of hairdryers.
The hotel is always clean with each room being cleaned and tidied each day and the public areas, including the toilets, are cleaned at regular intervals throughout the day.
The food has improved year on year and there is usually a good choice of meals available. To avoid queuing for breakfast it's wise to get there before 9am.
The hotel appears to have many loyal staff, who have been there during all the years we have visited. They are helpful and friendly and always appear to make a special effort to speak to our disabled son who loves going there.
We have no complaints at all!

| said: Four of us spent 10 days in the Aquamarina in August.
The hotel was large and catered for around 600 to 700 people, but this did not interfere with the cleanliness of the place. The hotel was spotless and our rooms where cleaned every day by very friendly chamber maids.
The restaurant could be very busy at times due to the amount of visitors in hotel and a lot of times people had to queue to get into the restaurant. We had ample warning of this due to someone else's review and followed the times he suggested, these were 8.30 for breakfast and 7.00 for dinner, we did not have to queue once. The menu had lots of variety and suited people from all countries, the only thing was it was repeated every 7 days so if you're there for 2 weeks you will have to put up with week ones menu again.
The location of the hotel is excellent if you are a beach person you just need to cross the road and you are there, the only downfall is its a shingle beach and some people dont like that.
It was also only a ten minute walk into Malgrat which is a busier resort and for those who want to go further afield the train station is a 5 minute walk from the hotel.
The hotel had loads of facilities with its own shops and hairdressers as well as a cinema and bowling alley, the internet cafe was a favourite of mine and I was able to keep in touch with people at home for far less that the price of phone calls.
Our party thoroughly enjoyed this holiday and would not hesitate to go back again.

was below average. the worst part of the holiday was having to get up early to make sure you get a sunbed for the day as people were getting up at 6am to put towels on beds, the pool area is small for the size of the hotel as when all the sunbeds are out you are so close together you can not move.

| said: The hotel was very clean and has just undergone refurbishment. The hotel room was modern and was cleaned every day by the maids. The public areas in the hotel were also modern and very clean. The hotel provided excellent facilities, including a gym, sauna, games room, and cinema which was very good. There was also an extensive programme for the children's club and for adult sports. The hotel staff were very helpful and spoke good english. Within the area the hotel seemed one of the largest but this did not effect the cleaniness of the hotel.
The biggest let down of the holiday was the hotel food. The restaurant is very large and clean, but is very much like a school/work canteen. The hotel attempted to cook food from other countries but failed, it would have been better if they had cooked local spanish food. Due to the size of the hotel the food was sometimes cold or poor qualtiy due to the volume of people they were cooking for. The breakfast became very mundane after two weeks, due to there being no restaurants in the area; it was even impossible to go out for dinner to break up the week of poor hotel food.
The hotel location is ideal as it is only 5-10 minutes walk to both the beach and train station. You can not hear the trains go passed during the night from the hotel.
Another let down is the hotels entertainment, mostly it is not in english. It is tacky and poor quality but not due to the staff not trying. It just seemed more directed to the french and german/dutch.
Overall the hotel is very clean and the major let down is the food. In our opinion it is not best suited to couples but more families. We will not be returning to this hotel again and that said the area too. There just was very little to do for couples.

Everyone in the hotel (there were a lot of people, about 600-700) seemed to think the same as ourselves. That was that the hotel could have made a bit more effort. The location of the hotel was close to a train station that was the only good thing i can say. Everything else was very disappointing.

I've read the other reports on the hotel/resort and I'm afraid I have to agree the biggest let down was the food. We were Half Board but just ended up picking our way through chips and other bits and pieces. Theres not a lot to do in this resort either so I suggest you bring a few good books and plently of patience. Sorry to spoil you holiday if you've not already been on holiday and are about to stay at this hotel. I would definitely not visit this hotel again or the resort.

It is situated in Santa Susanna which has nothing other than a few hotels and a train station. The hotel was the worst I have ever stayed in. My reasons being that the food was terrible. I contracted food poisoning after the first couple of days in my eagerness to try something a little different. I was confined to my room for the next couple of days and when I reported it to the hotel manager I was told I had got too much sun. Whilst discussing the holiday overall in the lift one day I became aware of several other people who had the same experience. I quicky reported this to the rep and explained that the food was never hot let alone warm. In the end I just had to put up with beans on toast for breakfast and chips and more bread in the evening. The only plus this hotel has is it appears to be clean. Big shame about the food and the entertainment.

| said: We Stayed in this hotel for 2 weeks. The food was of poor quality, they have tried to cook foods from other countries but have not succeeded! It would have been more interesting to eat SPANISH CUISINE! The hotel was very clean & the staff very friendly & accomodating. The location was perfect, near shops beach & transport. The entertainment was poor!

| said: Very large hotel but kept very clean. Several floors but excellent lifts.
A clean pool with aqua aerobics in the morning also a childrens pool. Good large reception and friendly staff.
Excellent facilities including games room, cinema, gym, lugage room, table tennis, tennis football and basketball courts, pool tables, bowling alley, just to name a few!! Good entertainment/entertainers e.g.darts competitions, parrot show (evening). Only problem no coins use laudary in the hotel or near by!
The hotels location was excellent with the train station being only a 10 minute walk away also no noise coming from the trains. All the shops just down the road and a mini train stop which takes you up to the hill behind the hotel (great fun for children and adults plus very cheap!)
The hotels food was quite good lunch and dinner was fine but after 2 weeks the breakfast became slightly boring. But the hotel offered a large selection also good for vegiterians only if you like fish!
Overall would go back again was an excellent hotel!

| said: The hotel is extremely clean and very well positioned on the main promanade close to the shops and a short promande train ride from the old town about 15 min walk. The beach is a short 5 min walk away although the pool area at the hotel is excellent. The food at the hotel is good but the breakfast is excellent all buffet style and a very large resturant.
The staff are very helpful and english speaking.
Entertainment was a disappointment but the hotels next to aquamarine had a good selection of entertainment.
The best recomendation I can give this hotel is I am going back this year (2004)
