This is the first time we have returned to a hotel, and we are glad we came back.

The rooms are big,the apartments and all the areas within are kept very clean.

Sammi the hotel games organiser is a legend, very cheery, always chatty, keeps everyone entertained.
The reception staff are excellent, always willing to help, and very friendly.

The onsite kids club(only for kids upto 8)was excellent.

Our youngest loved it.

The bar food is ok for a snack, but not for your evening or supper meal.

It is in a very good position re getting about.

Away from Salou, but also within easy reach of Salou and La Pineda.

The onsite shop is the cheapest in the area.

When we were there(July 8th-22nd)they were putting in an ice cream stand by the pool(not open by time we left)

I would highly recommend the Ontario apartments.

We were planning on going to Florida next year, but now we are considering going back.

A great mix op people,Scots,Germans,English and Irish(hi to Eddie and Emer and family)

The Cleaners came every day, with fresh towels made our beds and took out the rubbish. They were very polite.
The buses there were exceptional, buses came every 10 minutes to take you to portaventura, the waterparks and the main part of salou.
The entertainment was good, but if you have older children(teenagers) or you are travelling with friends then i suggest that you get on a bus and go to the main town.
I am in the process of booking another holiday here for july 09.

we arrived to a clean but very basic appartment. we were on the fourth floor at the front of the hotel above the shop and bar. the kitchen is very basic with a two ring hob, microwave, toaster fridge freezer. the utensils were old and the frying pans had no non stick and were desperate to be replaced.you could not fit more than one pan on the two ring hob as the pans were too big so if like us we had 3 kids 2 adults if you did want to cook a dinner you had no chance...pool ok. bar ok. food ok ish!!! supermarket is expensive not much choice but fresh bread and pateseries were lovely. sammy the entertainer was amusing. please join in the pool aerobics this was the funniest thing i have ever seen!!! travelled into pineda every day to the waterfront pub & restaurant. food was great best we found, not bad priced.cap solou beach was clean and near to appartments.food at the bar there was rubbish and expensive.i wouldnt waste your money. back to the appartments.... we were on top floor with goups of lads or gals.if we werent woken by the noise of eveyone leaving the bar about 12.30-1.30 am then we were woken about 4-4.30 when the lads and gals came home.we had fights in the corridoor no cosideration from other guests althoug with a young family we were surprised we had been put amongst groups of young singles. they had no other room to offer us.apart from the noise issue it wasnt too bad, didnt spend much time in rooms anyway. water park in la pineda is a must. had a great day a bit expensive but well worth the money...will look for other accomadation next holiday though.

Ok, now this is the first time ive needed to add a review on a holiday i have taken. Believe me this must be without doubt the worst 3* Hotel i have ever stayed in, (and i have stayed at plenty).
The 3* status should never be, i am not exagerating by stating that i have stayed in better "Backpacker's Hostels" than this so called 3* Hotel !! This should be downgraded with immediate effect, perhaps a minus 1* would be more appropriate.

My wife & i arrived at reception (if thats what you call it) to book in and was greeted by a scruffy unhelpful individual behind the counter. Instead of a " Welcome" we had " Passport & 100Euros Please"!!! before we even had chance to put our bags down!. Nice!

We were then directed to our "Self Catering Appartment" which on the whole was clean, the maids did change the towels/sheets every day bar Thursdays & Sundays as stated. Not really what i would call Self Catering as all you had was 2 electric rings (no grill), microwave was dirty on arrival so didn't use that. The Hotel itself is very basic, the food looked awful, i watched in horror as a guy was trying to force himself to eat some salad which looked just as limp as John Bobbett's genitals!!!
We spoke to Laura (First Choice Rep) who was friendly and pleasant, even Laura agreed with us that this so called hotel was abismal! The entertainment was just as weak as the lager. The Pool looked clean, not big enough though in my opinion for the amount of people this place could hold. Music all day by the pool was annoying as the same music was repeated every day!
Music all day by the pool was annoying as the same music was repeated every day!Music all day by the pool was annoying as the same music was repeated every day!
Music all day by the pool was annoying as the same music was repeated every day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Bugs doesn't it?? I would strongly recommend staying well away from this Hotel. This place should be used as a REHAB clinic for the Overweight & Alcholics! You would'nt eat the food & the booze is just P155 water!! You'd soon go back dryer than a new towel from M&S and a size 0 in clothes! So, anyone with half an ounce of sence, believe me this is not for you! Spend a little extra and stay elsewhere.
Salou itself was very nice, clean beach, nice bars on the front, plenty of shops all around which stocked plenty, impressed with the shopping. Cap Salou was nice also, a couple of recommendations for food would be Route 66 (really friendly & helpful, food was really nice also, say hi to Ella for me). Also the Paddock done the meanest Steak Pie which was delicious.
I'd certainly visit Salou again but this time without the cheap option of the ""ONTORRIBLE Appartments""!!
Regards.

Its brilliant because you have a bar down stairs and a supermarket attached onto the side of it with drink/alcohol cheaper than anywere else and it facilitates for all ages groups, it has a park, big pool, kids pool and everything in your apartment thatyou need!!

Its only a few mins walk from 3 beaches and bus stops are taround the corner.

Theres also a wide range of pubs/clubs and restaraunts close by. Overall its a great place to stay with friendly staff and comfy rooms. Thumbs up from me.

When we arrived we were directed to a basic but nice and clean 2-bedroomed appartment. The pool was a main feature of our holiday so we went down to check it out immediately. It was a fair size a with plenty of friendly people and the odd aqua aerobics session. Although we were self-catering, the choice of bar food available at lunchtime was great and we enjoyed lovely lunches looking over the pool here. There was also a supermarket underneath the hotel where you could by freshly-made bread every morning and a huge variety of food. Sammy the entertainment guy was great and very friendly. The hotel seemed very lively in the evenings due to the surrounding hotels being dead. The loaction of the appartments near to Cap Salou was great as there were restaurants there plus amusements, henna and trampolines. The Smugglers Inn was a winner for food!! Being so near to Port Aventura theme park was great and we enjoyed three visits to here! Furious Baco is a simply fantastic ride and the photos of everybody's faces should be put on the internet!! Trips here were available by bus or by taxi...each equal in price and both easy to aqquire. A good family holiday..the music played by the pool however now makes me cover my ears as mostly the same CD was on repeat. Hehe!

The hotel was very clean, in this area i could not write of my dissapiontment. Although we were intialy self catering we did taste the hotel food and did not approve. The location of the hotel was not as good as we would have liked as we were hoping to be nearer to Salou itself, as Cap Salou laked entertainment and variety. The hotel staff was mixed with rude people and polite people. The entetainment was a good standered and did keep our undivided attention, 'Sammy' particulary was extremely friendly, outgoing and also good with kids. I would visit 'The Otario apartments' again as the public services make it easy to reach Salou in around 5 minutes.

On arrival at the apartments we found our apartment door to be broken....one only had to push the door and it opened. We repeorted this to reception and were assured it would be sorted immediately so we continued to unpack. Unfortunately no one appeared to repair the door the first night so we had to stay put.

The following day we reported the door on 4 separate trips. Eventually we had to move apartment at 6 pm having spent the day hanging around the apartment all day.the compensation offered to us for all the hassle of unpacking...packing and unpacking again and having to hang around for a day and a half of our hol was 18 euros....Ican assure you that this insult says alot about the standard of this place......

I wouldnt reccomend this place to anyone....apart from the unfriendliness of the staff the music blasting out all day would drive anyone insane!!!

We have only recently returned but enjoyed it so much we booked it again for next year.

Hotel staff were very friendly.entertainment was great and catered for all ages. Hello Tot and James. On our first day our three year old fell into the Jacuzzi, the lifeguard Julia was there in a split second to pull her out. We are so grateful to her.

We also enjoyed the relaxing atmosphere as it is in a fairly quiet location.

We were only a short bus ride away from Salou and La Pineda.

I have just returned from the Ontario apartments.... the apartment was clean, cooking facilities were very basic, only 2 cooking rings, no oven...

The noise around the pool was horendous, there was a large speaker by the pool and music was played at full blast from 11am till 4.30pm you couldn't hear the person sitting next to you.. it made using the pool impossible .. we couldn't even sit on our balcony because the music was so loud...
This must breech every health and saftey law regarding water and electrical equipment
I witnessed a member of the entertainment staff get out of the pool dripping wet and pick up a live microphone (plugged into electrical equipmet)spoke into it and then pass it to a small child. Regardless to say i would not let my children near the pool!

Fire alarms went off at 11.45pm we evacuated the building but no member of staff even came to check they never said anything to us they left us standing outside a building not knowing what to do next was unbelievable..

This holiday is advertised in the 'Families' brochure it should be in the 'Holidays from hell' brochure..
avoid this place like the plague....

The Ontario was clean and the hotel staff friendly and helpful. The cleaner came in most days, and changed our towels most days, made our beds if we hadn't already done so and changed our bedlinen frequently.

We found the location ideal for us, away from the main village area, but near enough to get there in minutes, and it only took minutes to get to one of the sandy bays nearby.

Our 7 year old went to the kids club on several occasions and enjoyed these sessions.

Our apartment overlooked the pool area, which we'd hoped for. But unfortunately the loudness of the music between 10 -4 and 21.30-24.00 meant there was little chance of an afternoon siesta or early night.

The supermarket next door was convenient, and carried a good choice of anything you should need during your stay

I have just returned from the Hotel. Although I have to agree to some extend in relation to the volume of the entertainment, I did not really experience it as a problem.
My kids really enjoyed themselves in the Kid Club which to us was the most important aspect of the Holiday.

The reps were very helpful and friendly.

The location was ideal since you are only a short journey away from Salou and La Pineda.

Some staff at reception had very poor English and sometimes was reminiscent to scenes from Fawlty Towers, but this actually added to the charm.

The supermarket next to the apartment was very handy, and the prices were very reasonable. I mean it has been a while since I last saw a price o €1.15 for a bottle of wine.

All in all it was a very enjoyable holiday.

I really should have read this site before I booked this sorry attempt for accommodation.

We spent most of our time out of this place as it was just to awful to comprehend. We were greeted when we arrived by firstly a very long queue to check in (2 hrs in all) but thankfully we were entertained by the screaming and loudspeakers from outside (which stay on most of the day and are so loud I couldn't hear my ipod on full). After we arrived in our room by way of very very shaky elevator (which I used only twice my whole stay) we realised that this wasn't going to be the peaceful holiday we had longed for. We didn't get to sleep before 2 am any night. We would have been better off and richer sleeping on the streets in Salou itself.

Reps were incompetent, hotel staff were incompetent. We actually got a 2 hr display at 1am one night from the children of the tramps that were in the bar jumping in and out of the pool from the stacked sunbeds.

In all fairness though they were better at entertaining than any of the staff were. If you want an 18-30's holiday (with your children with you) you'll be delighted. If you have any standards you'll keep well away.

This was a terrible holiday. We had been allocated a room above the bar where the so called entertainers screamed and screeched most of the day and half the night.

The lifts banged the wall behind our beds and then stairs with very shaky railings ran along the side of our room. Reception staff were rude (not just to us but to the reps as well).

The reps had no power to do anything for us (we just wanted to be moved) We were more exhausted after this holiday than when we left and we wasted nearly €2000 on it.

Avoid like the plague!

Nasty holiday and the worst I've ever been on - we must have been put in the same room as C Murphy, noise from 7pm until well after 2am every night and also from 12pm to 5pm every day.

Rude reception staff, untrained reps and absolutely no help from Falcon to get out of this dive. I've complained and have been compensated as Falcon are well aware of the problems at this hotel. Another guest who was complaining the same time as me told me reception staff said that the constant knocking in the wall "must have been the spirits". The only people sleeping in this place were the ones so drunk (with kids in tow) they wouldn't have noticed.

The whole experience has not only put me off Salou (which is horrible all on its own) but the whole of Spain. I get a headache every time I think about it. Beware Falcon changed the description in the brochure from "situated in a quiet area outside Salou" to situated in an area outside Salou"

Very spacious rooms, clean and comfortable. Hotel staff and reps very helpful.

Food basic but kids like them (burgers, pizza, fish fingers, chips).

Room cleaned and towels changed daily except Sunday.

Entertainment every night, quite a few bingo nights when we were there.

Good bus service to Salou and Port Adventura, can get a bit crowded. Fares are different depending on time of day and weekend. Supermarket next to apartment very good and apparently cheapest in the resort.

We stayed for 2 weeks and are thinking of going back again in August.

The apartments are very clean and spacious, there were always loads of clean towels and the maid seemed to be there every day apart from Sunday.

We found a lovely beach 10 minutes walk away and also another one in La Pineda which was also 10-15 minutes walk away.

The reps at the apartments were brilliant and very helpful and friendly, hi to Jackie and Phil and also the kids reps Kim and Becky who seemed to enjoy every minute of their work in the kids clubs.

We are certainly thinking of going back.

The only cloud on the horizon was lack of wardrobe space, this was a 2 bedroomed apartment which also could sleep 2 in the lounge, making a total of 6 people. Why then was there only 1 wardrobe in the whole of the apartment, which even for a 2 week holiday is totally insufficient?

Just returned from a fantastic holiday at the Ontario apts. The apartments are very spacious, well maintained, and a great base for your holiday. We were in apartment 2003 (at the back).

The staff were very friendly, and very helpful.

The kids club was a godsend (kids couldn't wait to go).

The entertainment was all day, games by the pool, shows at night, always something going on.

The hotel food was basic, but ok for lunch or a snack.

Easy access to Salou and Port Aventura, buses regular and cheap (paid a different price every time we went on buses, even going to same place?)

The on site supermarket is the cheapest in the area.

Would recommend excursion to Nou camp/Barcelona zoo, it was a fantastic day out (kids and wife enjoyed both)

Barcelona is a beautiful city (would liked to have spent more time there) enjoyed eating out at the Rio Grande in Salou. Food and service were both excellent.

Would go back to Ontario again, as it was a great hotel, and it had something for everyone

The hotel was fantastic. It was near to a few beaches which was great. There was also lots of entertainment for both adults and kids. I came with my family and best friend and we had a really great time.

The food was ok depending if you like that sort of food. We met lots of other families and got to know a couple of them.

The reception staff was really great although they did complain a few times about the noise even though we didn't make any noise.

We even had the police to our apartment because of it.

The hotel was really clean you saw the cleaners going round in the day testing the chlorine in the water and on a morning you saw the cleaners sweeping the sand back on to the play area.

The location was great, sited not that far away from the beach and the center of Salou which was a nice little walk.

The hotel staff was really nice, even though they complained when we weren't making any noise and they even called the police.

The entertainment was good the magic man Wayne Goodman was great. The entertainers were great with the kids, they put stuff on for them all the time.

After a bit you did find that people from the Vancouver across from us did come into Ontario on a night because they did not have any entertainment whatsoever.

I would love to visit this hotel matter of fact I am going there for my mates 18 birthday

The food was good but there wasnt much of a choice it was more of a menu for the kids but they did make a good cooked breakfast.

The location of the hotel is a far bit away from Salou itself, we didnt know and decided to take a walk into Salou I was ready for a drink when we came to the first bar The Rovers Return, after that night we used the buses which has a very good sevice and only takes afew mins to get to salou.

The entertainment was brilliant the dancers were very good and friendly there was loads going on in this hotel the kids never got bored.

I would visit this hotel again and recommend it too all my friends.

The apartments were in a quiet area of Salou, however the bus service was excellent and very easy to follow.

The beach however was rather a long way away and down a steep hill.

The apartments were very clean and the maids came every day with clean towels. Inside the apartment was well equipped and very big. By far the best apartments I have ever stayed in, although some building work was still being done.

The reception staff were excellent but the bar staff were dreadful, their lack of communication was very off putting and their inability to maintain the prices evenly left alot to be desired.

The swimming pool was very small and although it had a life guard all day, he too lacked very fundamental communication skills, he would not allow my son to wear a T-shirt in the pool, even though I explained he burned very easy - this certainly had a detremental affect on our over all holiday - as my son could not enjoy swimming in the pool.

Overall a very nice accommodation but would need the staff to have a few basic skills improved.

The First Choice reps were excellent and dealt very well with all they had threw at them.

We all went in August of last year. We had a great time.

The hotel was kept very clean and the maid came in every day. Not only did she give us new towels, she would clean everywhere. She would mop the floors as well as the balcony floors. She also made our beds for us. She was a lovely lady. She did not complain when our little son became ill and vomited all over the sheets (on quite a few occasions).

Entertainment was quite good - the reps were excellent ensuring the children had a great time. Entertainment was varied on different nights - there would be bingo, fire shows, and different acts.

The hotel was situated quite a way from the town centre of Salou - however, buses were very reliable. We were not far from Cap Salou - we found a great bar named the Smugglers Inn which was not only great for dinners/lunches (and quite cheap too) the entertainment was very good also. We would recommend the Wednesday night as an Elvis impersonator would entertain us. He was exceptionally good. The staff were also lovely too.

Port Aventura was not that far from here - and you could catch a bus at the bottom of the road and it would take you straight there. (Expect to queue for quite a while in Port Aventura - it was very busy).

The only complaint really was that we also got told off for making noise, we were only talking outside the bar after it had closed. (So it wasn’t that late).

If you can’t walk very far - I would not recommend this hotel - as we were surrounded by hills (very steep in places).

One thing to remember, if you would like to win some of the competitions at the hotel such as pick the peg etc) make sure you get on well with the rep and buy her drink)!!! (We noticed this quite a few times - that whoever won - the person she was speaking to at the time won!) But we don’t hold a grudge! (We’ll know for net time).

This complex is great for families.

I thought the hotel was located in a nice quiet place. But when you wanted to go out all you had to do was get a bus into town for a good night out!! the staff treated you well. The hotel was very tidy.

The Ontario Apartments are ok if you want a quiet holiday away from everything. When we stayed there the block we were in was not finished and we got woken up every morning by workmen drilling and banging in the down stairs apartments, the view from our balcony was of a skip full of building debris. The on site entertainment was not up to much and there was not much for the kids to do. The swimming pool is very small and gets very busy.
The apartments are quite big and they were clean when we arrived but after that all the maid did was change the towels she didnt actually clean the apartment for the 2 weeks we were there.
