the hotel itself is ok the fact that it's on top of a hill is a big factor with children .
food at the hotel was ok nothing special just plain.
entertainment was utter Dir i mean to me it seemed the same 3 girls singing as different acts every other night just awful.
the pool its self is heated now apparently and the twice we went in it it wasn't cold at all the children's end of the pool area was dirty wasn't swepl at all grit everywhere all the sunbeds were broke hardly any umbrellas for when the sun does come around the pool side.
the machine's inside the bar area are always breaking mainly because the kids are jamming the coin mec,s up the wrong money and the hotel don't want to no.
and it stats you can't reserve sun beds as your towel will be removed yet on are last day at 9 in the morning we counted 15 towel anbd not 1 person in site not even having food the more i write this the more i could go on and on im just glad we never spent much time there as we were always out

On arriving to the hotel we found checking into the hotel to be very efficient and organized. The room was very clean and spacious with all facilities needed!!! The staff and in house entertainment were excellent every night of the week, and no noise carried through the hotel . The location of the hotel is ideal, located near to the beach, a short bus ride to port aventura and a short bus ride to salou.

Just back from a weeks stay at this hotel, which is deffinately not 4 star, i feel it was a rip off to be perfectly honest i have been on much better holidays for less money.

One good thing about the hotel is the rooms, they are massive.

Bad points.... the hotel opposite has its entertaiment so laod it keeps you up till all hours if you have a pool view room. Also pool tables round pool are aload to be used until 1am, so as the balls are being dispensed it sounds like a huge roar of thunger and the kids are so roudy round them, ok if you are up till then but with a 2 yr old we were in bed slightly earlier than that.

Sun doesnt arrive around the pool till the afternoon and the pool area is very cramped.

Cap Salou was dissapointing, but Salou is a dive, better off going to Cambrills its only round the courner and a different class!

Lined and towels were change once whilst we were there...not nearly enough in my opinion!

As for daytime and evneing entertainment i dont know how first choice dare call this there hotel, they hire a girl froman entertainments company to do all the entertainment which consists of a quiz, bingo, a bit of a kids disco and perhaps another game show, then medica singers etc if you are lucky.

Very disapointed, worst holiday i have ever been on, disapointed with first choice as i expected better from them, will not be returning to this hotel or region for that matter

We found this hotel to be very clean, rooms cleaned on a daily basis except Sundays when you are just given clean towels and loo rolls. The pool was clean and there were plenty of sunbeds. The only down side of the pool area was that no snacks are served only drinks. Lunch is served in the restaurant as well as breakfast and evening meals. We tried the breakfast once it wasn't to bad there was a good selection including fresh made pancakes which the kids loved.

There wasn't much entertainment in the hotel and when there was it was Spanish, but we went out in the evenings so it didn't really matter. All the staff in the hotel were friendly and spoke good English. The location of the hotel was good, only a few minute walk from the main beach, which does get very busy. There were plenty of shops near the hotel including supermarkets, plenty of places to eat and small friendly bars.

One place we returned to many times for breakfast and evening meals was called the Vines, this was an English bar which served very good meals always very filling.

Beware of the pavements down the side streets many of them have loose tiles.

Porta Ventura is definitely worth a visit, there is something there for all ages and the shows are great. It is worth getting tickets for Porta Ventura in this country as you get a much better deal.

This was the 3rd time we have been to Salou and it is certainly developing over the years, but we would definitely go back again in the future, i would even stay in the same apartments again.

The hotel was in a good location we were pleased on arrival at the standard of cleanliness and facilities available.

The apartment was spacious and well laid out. We didnt really eat in the hotel because there was bars and resturants within easy walking distance. The bus service to the theme park and salou and neighbouring towns was excellent.

The service at the bar was slow and sometimes the staff not very helpful also the cleaner a bit lax ( first hotel ive ever stayed in where they dont make the beds ).

The entertainment on the night was a bit hit and miss but the two girls in charge (shell & nicky) really tried hard and were lovely. overall excellent holiday and would definitly go back again!!!!!!!!

The room was spacious and clean on arrival however was only cleaned twice in fourteen days and had to request cleaning and towel changes.

The supermarket is very expensive compared to the supermarket (Michael Angelo) opposite the Vancouver apartments.

The food is not bad the bar staff could do to smile occasionally found them very unfriendly and quite rude at times. We mainly went down the hill to the paddock restaurant which is excellent food and friendly staff.

The entertainment it not up to much, mainly bingo (costs 5 euro and nobody wins) deal or no deal, killer pool all costs money. The h10 hotel (next door) has a lot more to offer for the children disco's etc. If you want a big night out catch a bus into Salou they run every fifteen minutes for 24 hours a day

The Sunclub is a mediocre hotel and it definitely does not merit a 4star rating. Frequency of the rooms been cleaned was in adequate. The apartments were spacious enough for a family of 4 with young children.

However, the location is rather hilly if you have young kids whom require pushchairs. You'll need to reserve some of your energy at the end of a long day to make that uphill walk/struggle back to the hotel. Had I'd known how steep some parts of this resort was, I would have opted for the other resorts such as Salou, La Pineda or Cambrils. If not for this reason, then definitely for the fact that it was very quiet in the evenings. Hence, you'll need to depend on the hotel to create that holiday atmosphere, but sadly Sunclub was by far lagging behind in this area compared to their neighbouring hotel, H10 Mediterranean Village. So if you're still set on holidaying in Cap Salou I would strongly suggest you book into the H10 which incidentally is also a 4* (and a well deserved one) as their facilities, entertainment, buffet dinner, pools, and sophisticated decor (well in their reception area as I've not seen the rooms) were by far the best and Sunclub does not even come a close third let alone second!

The Sun Clubis a family friendly hotel ,very clean, the hotel food was very nice.

The swimming pool is very clean but beware very cold! The entertainment was very boring and at some points not appropriate for the young children watching it i.e men stripping and male guests being sent around the bar to collect ladies bras.

I found the apartments very clean, although the maid did only clean the room 3 times we had to clean the room most of our holiday.

The pool was very cold until late afternoon when the sun started to shine on it.

The rooms were very spacious, and we had a brilliant view of the pool and the sea and town from our balcony. I would put these apartments at a 3 star not a 4 star.

We did have the breakfast, and enjoyed it very much, but there was not a great selection to choose from for your evening meal.

The English staff were very friendly, could not say the same for the Spanish staff.

Entertainment was very poor unless you like karaoke most nights.

I would visit these apartments again if it was in a different location, and the entertainment was better.

Excellent !. Was my first ever foreign holiday, and i found the Sunclub clean and well run. Rooms were spotless, spacious and quiet(ish). Only fault i had was our cooker rings took ages to boil a kettle, but got it resolved by second day. Had a nice view of the sea from balcony, which gave us plenty of sunshine from 9am. Staff were friendly and helpful , especially on last day when my case busted open at 8am and they gave me a long unclaimed suitcase to get home with. Only really bad experience i encountered was the day we went to see Barcelona/Juventus game at the Nou-Camp stadium,we were told and hour long coach ride to Barcelona but were on coach for roughly 3 hours and 2 hours going back. I would recommend this apartment block to anyone, and will definately want to return soon.

Well what can I say? From the moment that we got to Reus airport the reps were fantastic, infact Emma who was one of the kids rep at our hotel took us from the airport to the Sunclub. She made sure that we were settled in and every thing was ok!

The next day we went to the welcome meeting, Sophie our hotel rep really was helpful and made us feel very welcome. During the meeting the kids reps Emma and Claire took the kids out and the kids took an instant liking to the girls! The kids ended up going to kids club every day, I have never been to a hotel with such dedicated kids reps, they were always happy to talk to the kids even when they was trying to eat their tea!!!

Didn’t really talk to Sophie that much if we had any problems then we could ask Emma who had a good knowledge of the resort, Claire was also helpful but Emma made us laugh a lot!

We did have a little trouble whilst on holiday and had to complain to Emma and Claire but the girls didn’t take it to heart and were fantastic!

We plan to go back to Salou next year, the whole family really hopes that Emma and Claire are back there next year.

Thanks for a fantastic holiday

The hotel was very clean we got clean towels every day apart from Sunday which the cleaners didn’t work. The hotel food is very nice and reasonable in price. It’s situated in the middle of salou and la pineda which is ok but there’s plenty of buses and taxis its right next to beaches. The hotel staff are very friendly the reps and the entertainment staff are very good. Like I said entertainment was made better because of the entertainment staff. Yes I would visit this hotel again.

The food was great value for money we had breakfast everyday, taxi cheap to town centre.

The staff are very pleasant and most speak english which is good. The entertainment well you can't really call it that not very good for adults or kids virtually non existent. Very noisy till midnight if you get an appartment below bar but apart from that we had a great time going back next year.

These apartments are spotless, you could not fault the cleanliness or the room itself at all. There was room for another two people at least. We had a large balcony overlooking the pool, and we could not hear the noise from the bar area. There are plenty of utensils provided for cooking, however we ate out every night. The only one minor problem with the apartments is that the walls are very thin, so for mornings it could be slightly noisy.

There were plenty of sunbeds available, however watch out for the pool, it's very cold!!

Buses were frequent to Salou and cost 1.25 euros, however we found that the taxi coming home was quite expensive, around 6 Euro's,however, the bus service ran up until midnight.

I would recommend these apartments.

Arrived in the early hours & greeted with very friendly receptionist. Hotel rooms are spotless, modern & trendy. can't fault them at all, perfect.

Weather nice & hot. Pool was probably the cleanest I've ever seen, beautiful!

Bar staff were friendly & general bar area was suitable to have a beer watching the sun go down. Hotel restaurant was very basic but great if you want a take away.

Plently to keep kids happy. Its in a perfect area, far enough from noisy bars etc but close enough to walk.
Shop connected to hotel was very well stocked, had everything.

General Atmostphere was pleasent. Loved the holiday over all & I HIGHLY RECCOMEND it.

Had a fantastic holiday in the sun club, the hotel was just perfect and very clean! Sophie our rep was brilliant and really helpfully. Sophie really helped us out!

Our kids had the best holiday ever and that was because of Emma and Claire they were the kids reps there and they did a brilliant job, so helpful and always had time for the kids in and out of kids club. Our kids are very shy but thanks to Emma and Claire that all changed the girls really miss them and we hope to see them next year!!!! Good luck girls and thanks you really made our holiday.

Didn’t think much to the entertainers Kristy and Dais, they were very lazy and rude!

when we first arrived at the appartments it was in the early hours of the morning the woman on reception was very helpful even at that time of the morning we got to our room very quickly we were on the top floor and it was only until the morning when we woke up and opened the curtains that we saw the fantastic view overlooking the sea which in the brochure says you have to pay extra for but we didn't so we were lucky. the room itself was very very clean with two bedrooms one with a double bed and one with two single beds and a bed setee and a pull out bed in the living area the balcony was very long a lot longer than the rooms on the sides of the appartments which overlook the pool, we didn't experience any noise from the other rooms only the entertainment from the hotel next to us which finished at 12 p.m .

This was the third time that we have visited Cap Salou, the first time at the Sun Club. I was concerned before I went re the comments about the noise but I did not experience any problems (The walls are the same thickness as any other hotel I have visited).

The hotel is well situated, only a short distance from the local bars and beach.

The hotel was clean and the towels were changed every other day, the bedding was changed once a week (this was the only time our beds were made by the maids) not quite what we are used to, but it only took a few minutes to do it ourselves anyway.

The food served at the Hotel was ok but I recommend you eat in Cap Salou. The service at the bar came to be a standing joke amoung our party (they had two speeeds really really really really slow or ignore you completely. However a plus point was they were so useless they forgot to charge you.

Sunbeds were a real problem, you had to be at the pool at 9.45 to stand a chance of a bed, what was infuriating, people would go down at this time and reserve the beds (usually putting two towels over five beds) and as the sun did not come out around the pool until 12.30ish) they would disappear down to the beach until then. They would then come back after lunch and expect to still have their beds (yes I am the person who removed the towels when this happened with the Reps approval of course.

Comments about the pool being cold were nonsense infact during the afternoon it became quite warm not at all refreshing to cool you off.

Entertainment staff were excellent with a really first class team (big thanks to Crazy Daisy the Sweating Minger, and Kirsty 'there not real' for making our holiday fantastic, Chunk and Paul - touch you tighs send kisses). The kids disco was put on quite late usually around 10.30 to 11.30ish, this wasn't fair on the younger children but as ours were from aged 9 and up it was not a problem.

I personally had a wonderful time at the Sun Club but I was with a large party (6 Adults 6 kids)and a holiday is what you make of it. I would recommend sun worshipper's to go to the beach.

We booked the Sunclub purely based on First Choices brochure description, in particular with regard the kids club and baby sitting availability. When we got there we found there was no baby sitting available and the kids club was only on for a round 2-3 max per day/night. The brochure did clearly detail kids club times as a guide only but it basically listed activites all day and night. 3 hours is a little far off to be ignored.
Another little moan our kids did not get the kids club outfits until the 12th day!

Other than that the Appts were spotless, we actually has a maid in daily. Food in the hotel was dire. No big deal just 2 mins walk and there are plenty of eating joints around, all better value.

The Sunclub is actually in Cap Salou about 20-30 mins walk with kids or 5 mins on the bus but the drivers charge you for little ones as per adults. Costs were 1.20 euro for the bus.

Staff were all very friendly, there is a Geordie women on reception who was fluent in Spanish....very helpful.

Entertainment again was very poor. It consisted of Bingo, Water Polo in the day. Repeated every day! At night they managed two decent nights out of the fourteen with external entertainers coming otherwise it's. Bingo, The Peg Game and a couple of songs for the kids.

The pool is absoultely freezing, really puts you off getting in. This is due to the fact that the Sun does not get onto the pool untils 12:00 - 13:00 and it has little time to warm up! It is also absolutely mobbed with dive bombers, water fighters etc. I suppose to be expected being a family appts. A little to much though!
Next with the pool. There is a tight time scale for opening: 10:00-18:00. You can't go near it any earlier than 10 in the morning and its closed sharpish at 6 every day! Never experienced this before!

Last one there is not enough beds. If you are not queing for 09:45, then you will not get a bed by the pool!!! Simply not enough beds! We suffered with towels being moved etc and rows over beds, not much fun!!

The apartments were clean & spacious with a large balcony & plenty of storage. the staff were very friendly. entertainment was not too good, the pool was always freezing, not much room around pool. the place was overrun with kids who ran wild & were generally annoying. the food in the cafe looked good but wasnt.

This accomodation is a little gem!! The food is excellent and the staff really friendly. we were on a high floor so we didnt have much bother with noise but you do get the impression a noisey neighbour would be hard to ignore.

salou is a 15 min walk away but the bus is very cheap and run frequently.

Cannot fault this Hotel at all, and if you do go, make sure you check out the 5th floor sun terrace/gym for a nice breeze and a wee escape from the kids.

Just returned from a weeks holiday in this hotel. Spotless accommodation, spacious and well equipped kitchen area. Even at this time of year, very noisy, with main culprits being the entertainment team, especially one female with the most harsh accent I have ever enountered. So loud it bellowed throughout the apartments and impossible at get the gist of her accent or (roar). Also attempted to have a meal in the restaurant, attached to the entertainment area but despite great service and food, the lion deafened us.
If you need a decent nights sleep - don't go here.

I would love to go to this hotel again, the pool is open all year round even though it is freezing! The entertainment was brilliant. The entertainer, Matt, was thrown into the pool as everyone was leaving, and we all had a laugh. There was an early evening quiz every day, and we even won once! You can order delicious pizzas and big jugs of lager of sangria to have at the bar. I think it was the BEST holiday ever! But, I am only 12!

Hi, Just back from the sun club had agreat two weeks. The sunclub apartments are very central with a good bus service, just on the main road out side the complex. There where two familes traveling together and it just happened to be my sister in laws 40th birthday. So we arranged a party with the help of Ryan,Joe and the gang. what a night ryan came out as akissogram and poor Pauline nearly took a stroke .so ryan being ryan put 100% into it as always and lets just say he came out a few garmets lighter.Would recomend these apartments for afamily that like a bit of crack and alaugh.Would not book aprivate taxi to the market i think its called Bonavista the taxi is great and they do come back for you, but that is when all the crack starts. We were surrounded by angry spanish taxi men, they banged the doors of our taxi they kicked it, and if that was not bad enough they started to bend the window wipers, all this and my husband myself and my 3year old son where in the car and he was crying never again. They seem to have some sort of feud going on, yet the private taxis are legal ,it is the drivers in the white taxis that have the problem. And most of them have no manners. But apart from that disaster WERE GOING BACK IN AUGUST BEST WISHES STELLA PETER MEGAN SARAH-JANE AND PJ YE HAAAAAAAAA.

This was our first family holiday abroad and we all really enjoyed it.

The entertainment could have been better but the reps we had did the best they could with the space available. We went july fortnight and we could not complain about noise the children were able to sleep after 12 midnight, the food was fine the pizza's had to be taken to the room every night before bed time or the children would have had a fit they loved them sooo much.

The staff were very friendly and could not do enough for us. we are going back to Salou this year in July but the Sunclub was fully booked but we hope to have a good time as we sort of know a bit about the area now. grrrrrreat holiday.

Just came back from these brand new apartments. 30 minutes from the airport. Very clean indeed, cleaners are seen throughout the day all around this complex. Apartments very spacious with a built-in hairdryer in the bathroom and a microwave in the kitchen area with basic cooking facilities and fridge. Entertainment every night including a kid's funtime. A quiz every night and also HAPPY HOUR at the bar 8pm - 9pm. Buy one get one FREE !

There is a varied menu on offer from breakfast to evening meals. Do try the local pub The Paddock - great portions and reasonable price. People always outside disappointed that there are no tables available - particularly around 7pm. I recommend eating there and also close-by The Smugglers is another good place to eat. ( Five mins walk away from the apartments.) Taxis to the centre of Salou around 4 Euros - The fountain is the best place to be dropped off and a taxi rank is there for the return journey. Too far to walk. Bus will cost you 1 Euro and are pretty full indeed. The beach is very crowded so just before the Paddock Pub in Cap Salou there is a lovely small sandy cove which is very popular and you can hire sunbeds there. It is a downhill walk, but take your time going back up !!!! The pool in these apartments is supervised by a Lifeguard and water polo for the kids is also supervised. Kid's Club everyday .

Very hot in Salou - plenty of suncream required. Late check out also available from these apartments. Do try the Aquapark (Aquapolis) in La Pineda. Brill day out - 10 mins away on the bus . Bus stop opposite side of the road to the apartments. They cater for the very small children too.

All in all a very good family holiday .

A lovely holiday in Salou, do try Barcelona Zoo. Happy Holiday !!!!!

These apartments opened in May 2002 and we travelled to them later that month. Our one bedroom apartment was large with excellent storage space. Both the rooms and public areas were very clean. The staff were very helpful throughout our stay. Any problems were quickly attended to.There is a 90 Euro deposit for the room. A room safe is 25 Euro per week including a 10 Euro deposit.

There is a medium size pool which is very clean and has a lifeguard on duty. Children are not allowed lilos in the pool. There is a terrace with free sunbeds.Due to the position of the building the sun does not reach the terrace or pool until about 11am. This leaves the pool very cold until mid afternoon.

The apartments have their own small shop and a large bar/entertainment area. The bar area can be very noisey in the evenings.

Cap Salou is a small village with a supermarket, a souvener shop, some bars and a small beach. Try the Paddock bar especially for food.

The bus to Salou runs every 30 mins from the main road but better to take a taxi costing about 5 euro for the 5 minute journey as the buses are always full.

Overall this is an excellent complex particularly if you want a quiet base with busy Salou nearby
