| said: Loved these Apartments they were clean fresh and modern. They had everything you would need included microwave, kettle etc.
The room sizes were good and the balcony large. We were lucky we all faced the pool area but if you are at the back you face the train track. Although I only heard the train noise twice so it was not bad.
We were HB and the food was lovely with a good choice of dishes, the restuarant was never too busy considering it was August and we never had to queue for the food like we have in some larger hotels.
So if really liked these apartments and would go again although only slight downside was location which was great for the beach but abit of a walk for all the shops and pubs.

Noise noise noise- the entertainment didn't stop till 1am some nights and was always very loud. Very noisy crowd outside and alcopop drinkers surround the hotel. You can hear everything in the room above you- we had a big problem with people walking about till 4am in high heels and scraping furniture about. Would have preferred to be in a top floor room overlooking the railway. Baby could not sleep through the noise. Staff would not find us another room, nor did the reps do much to help. Not much of a holiday when you can't sleep!!
we sampled little of the food- what we did was unimpressive.
Entertainment was awful and far too loud

The evening entertainment started at 9pm and went on until 1am. The entertainment was awful. Kids mini disco only lasted for 30 Min's then it was quiz and bingo every night!
No hotel entertainment in the daytime only the kids club for 3-8 yr olds.
The location of the hotel was excellent and only a very short walk to the lovely sandy beaches.
The hotel pool was freezing and very busy even for almost out of season time.
The hotel staff were friendly and helpful.
The reps were awful, not at all helpful and never seemed to be able to answer questions straight away.
The food in the hotel bar was nasty and quite highly priced for what it was.

Kids club was excellent. Entertainment was good (there is not a First Choice disco, but Fernando did a great mini disco for the kids). Nice little park at hotel which was great for little ones.
We didn't find the hotel noisy (even in the height of summer), but this may depend on the location of your room. Luckily, we overlooked the pool, so didn't have the view and noise of the railway.
Short walk to the lovely sandy beach.
A longer walk to the variety of restaurants (which was quite tiring for younger children)
Overall, we all had a great holiday, but probably would not return as this time we were very lucky with our room and had a pool view.
Overall, we all enjoyed

Trains all day and all night and sounded like an aeroplane was about to land on top of us!
Staff seemed unconcerned even though there was a doorman.
Had to keep asking for cleaner/toilet rolls.
Location of hotel was great.
Food in bar was excellent and good value.
Reps were misleading as I overheard a conversation about bus services which I later discovered was not accurate.
Pool was a nightmare - towels left out all day whether the guests were there or not - never again!

Restaurant is like a nasty cheap canteen this is where the entertainment on night is held well karoke while people are having their teas. Pool is not big enough for the hotel you have to go and put your towels out at 8am as their are not enough beds.
Rooms are really nice but the cleaner only came in and put towels and toilet roll on table and that was it the hotel is kept cleaned but not the rooms.
Kids loved the kids club that was the best thing there, Reps were useless.

We ate out every day so I can't coment on the hotel food. The staff are really friendly and will try to help if they can.
There is a railway line at the back but you don't hear it as much as you think, try to use public transport as much as possible as it is a lot cheaper than the excursions and you get a look around different places much longer.
The beach is just 5min down the road plenty of places to eat and drink. We ate at the Vine its a british pub very friendly and the food is second to none.
Will be going back next year.

| said: My Husband and I (31 and 28) returned from a week at this apart-hotel a few days ago.
Overall we had a good holiday. The one bedroom apartment was comfortable, spacious, quite clean and well equiped for self catering although maids only visited our apartment twice in our week there and they don't empty the bins, you have to take rubbish to a room in the stair well yourself.
We had a room on the 3rd floor of 5 and overlooking the pool. We were on the end of the block with a very good sized balcony. Although quite close the railway line this didn't bother us at all (nowhere near as bad as some make out), not as much as the noise at night from very inconsiderate guests hanging around the pool areas after the entertainment had finished. This happened almost every night and kept us up until 2am sometimes.
We found the staff to be very helpful when we needed their assistance and the First Choice reps seem to always be at hand here. We didn't go on any excursions but bought our Port Aventura tickets from the reps which avoided any queueing on arrival (although a this time of year the park was very quite anyway - great!).
We had one lunch by the (rather chilly!) pool which we found to be very good value but didn't eat here at night - too many good restaurants in Salou and we like to get out and about (Barco (sp?) by the north end of the beach comes highly recommended, fantastic paella here).
Generally a good cheap end of season week in the sun. Second time I've been to Salou and I don't think I'd go back again. ou certainly enjoy a nice quite bedroom when you get home though!

| said: We have just returned from our seven day holiday and overall for what we were looking for was reasonably satisfied.
I had previously emailed the hotel after reading reviews on this site and requested a top floor quiet room, I got exactly what I asked for the majority of the time, my only grumble with that would be that when other guests return to their rooms after going to Port Aventura and the like at about 1am and beyond they could be a bit more considerate.
on arrival the hotel staff could not have been more helpful although beware of the 100 euro deposit for your room and the fact that the rooms are not ready until 5pm.
On entering our room we found the accommodation to be probably the cleanest and most spacious we had stayed in (we travel about 3 times a year & have done since 1993) so we can compare holidays, cleanliness plays a massive part in our holidays, we didn't eat on site as we weren't to impressed with the very limited menu and the restaurant was only seperated from the smoking in the bar area by "hospital screens".
We found the location of the hotel good for us as we prefer not to be right on top of the hustle & bustle of the town centre but if you are not very mobile it is a good 15 minute walk into the town centre although it is very flat and you can get the "Wally Trolley" if you want, the beach is at the bottem of the road (about 5 minute away).
The hotel staff from reception to cleaners were 5* and could not be faulted, they were friendly and helpful to the full.
Personally We found, as a couple in our mid forties, the entertainment to be quite poor unless you consider bingo or karaoke your thing, there were other entertainment lasting about 20 minutes but the rest is just noise in a very uncomfortable smokey surrounding.
All in all we enjoyed our break away with fabulous weather and would probably go back to Salou but would choose alternative accomodation although that is not to say that this complex would not suit a lot of other people, and there were NO cockroaches.

The location for us was ideal, only 10 minutes walk from all the shops and restaurants.
The facilities at the Cye were perfect. The pool area was not too big, our youngest son was only 3 on our first visit and you could easily see all areas round the pool when he wandered off.
There were always lots of other kids for the boys to play with and the entertainment at night always kept them happy.
The food in the restaurant was not great, but there were plenty of good restaurants around.

We feel extremely sorry for the staff who have to put up with such rudeness especially in the shop. We have never been so embarrassed to be British and felt very intimidated.
The noise of the trains didn't bother us it was nothing compared to the noise from ajoining rooms.
Room facilities were good and very clean. The large balcony was nice shame the lights went out on them at 12.00!
Deposit and payment for safety deposit box is a rather high amount.
Compared with other holidays we do not feel we got value for money.

Staff were and location was good except for the train track next to the hotel.
I would not recommend this hotel and won’t be returning

| said: My family and I have just returned from a 2 week stay in the Cye holiday centre. This is now our second stay in this hotel within 5 years, but our hope of improvement was diminiished within the first few days of our stay.
This was due to complete non supervised children, around the pool area during the day and night time.
This lead to endless sleepless nights and the hotel staff or guardians were not willing to deal with this issue. This unrulyness ruined what is a very nice facility.

| said: I stayed in the Cye for 2 weeks and I only came back on the 12th of August.
The Cye is a nice apartment to stay in. I stayed on the 3rd floor but it was a bit noisy at night time. The bar closed at 12.00 which I thought was ridiculous.
The entertainment was very disappointing. There was bingo and a quiz every night. There was also something different on every night like a karaoke and a parrot show but it wasn't great.
The holiday reps were very good with the young children. They had a mini disco on every night and a few different games but the entertainment wasn't very good for teenagers or adults. We went out nearly every night.
The food wasn't very nice but there was a great restaraunt about 20 minutes away from the apartments called Chippies and all the food came from England. The food was delicious there.
The swimming pool was a bit small and it was freezing. There was a little pool about 2 foot deep and another one about 4.5 foot deep. There was a beach about 5 minutes away from the apartments.
The waiters were also very nice people with very good english.

| said: We have just returned from 2 weeks at the Cye Apartments. We were on the fifth floor and was very happy with the room.
We heard nothing from the bar and pool area at night, and was not to bothered about the train tracks.
We can't comment on the food in the hotel as we were much happier eating in one of the many restaurants in the town.
We never used the pool as the beach is one of the best in Spain and was never around for the enterainment, there was just far to much going on 10 minutes walk away.
There is a lot of kids that seem to be left to do there own thing, whether round the pool, in the lobby or up and down the lifts.
This was probably the biggest down side.
We also never went on any of the organised excursions as the local bus and train services are excellent and a fraction of the cost.
The hotel staff are very friendly and speak very good English.
There is a shop within the hotel that sells most things but all at a greater cost than the local supermarket.

The hotel is close to the main beach and promenade but a railway line runs by the hotel and at 6am it was quite a shock to see the train speeding past!
The hotel is clean, maid service not very good. I had to go and ask for toilet rolls twice and clean towels. Our bedding was only changed once in the fortnight!
The hotel is very noisy and you can hear everything in the adjoining apartments and corridors. Our first week we hardly got any sleep due to inconsiderate people.
The entertainment is appalling and we only stayed in one night because it was raining.

| said: The apartments have one bedroom plus two comfy sofas, a well equipped bathroom (decent shower)_and a basic kitchen (microwave, 2 burners, no oven) / equipment. Cleaned every other day. We faced the railway line and its foot bridge but the trains didn't bother us, I think this was preferable noise wise to facing the pool, the other visat was a car park and block of flats.
Set in quiet residential area but easy walking distance to main areas, best supermarket seemed to be the one the other side of the railway tracks though there are several within easy reach between hotel and beach area.
Didn't try the food but the menus on the wall was all English, chips, nuggets etc. Bar had serving hatch onto pool area which was very popular, serves ice cream, crisps etc. as well as alcohol.
Couldn't get near the pool for very active children and looked like all sunbeds bagged with towels well before 09:30 the pools opening time.
Bar was basic and more like a cafeteria.
Staff very efficient and friendly.
Entertainment didn't grab us not really into bingo and it is really aimed at the children anyway. Probably great for families, not so good for a child free couple (allocated on arrival so no thought there then).

The place is kept clean and tidy although we were a little concerned about the pool, the water seemed very cloudy but I don't know if this was because of maybe too much chlorine in the water or what, although saying this there were no reports of anybody feeling ill.
The hotel itself is located back of the main street but only a five minute walk and you found yourself on the prom with its beautiful fountains and sculptures.
There was really no problem with the railway line behind the hotel.
The hotel staff were always pleasant and very helpful. The entertainment could do with a shake up, we had to go out most nights to find good entertainment.
Overall I would recomend Cye Holiday Centre as a base for your family holiday.

The rest of the week didn’t need to speak to as we had no probs.
The reception, the rooms, the bar & pool area were always spotless.
Now for the bar staff cheers Jenny & the rest of the girls you are the best!!!
Now for the waiters the service was spot on the food was always fresh & as describes the buffet is well worth a try & with Cydu & his friends waiting on there’s never any mess.
The entertainment leaves a little to be desired this is in no way disrespectful to Alaine as he’s a great with the kids but there was nothing for the adults.
In general we had a really nice holiday.
Salou & Cambrills have an abundance of bars & restaurants. The beaches are all spotless & easy to get to & the local bus service is regular as clockwork & cheap as chips but one of the things that makes a holiday is the people you meet.
So thanks to Paul & Sandra, Sky & Joanne, Gary, Paul & the girls Chez/Martin & the St Hellens lads JD {job done} & everyone else who helped make a good holiday great.

The apartments are quite spacious and well equipped, beautiful bathroom and power shower, balconies are nice,we were on the front of the hotel and the sun in the morning was lovely!,the apartments are clean as is the holiday centre in general.Although we were self catering we did eat in the hotel a couple of times at the all you can eat buffet in the evening,at 28 euros for the family very good value and nice food, however it is nice to go and sample other reteraunts in the area.
We were pleased with the location just five minutes from the fantastic beach(beautiful sands, warm water, play areas for kids),15 minute walk from main shops but this is pleasant as there are loads of fountains ,sculptures ,gift shops and resteraunts on the way.
Hotel staff are fantastic and the reps always about and very helpful.
Entertainment was mediocre but the kids were happy as we were with a jug or two of sangrila.
Portaventura and aquapolis are great days out for the family,a trip to barcelona is a must, the local bus service was reasonable and frequent, and a great way to explore the local area.
Only complaint was that the swimming pool was freezing,so go to the beach!,apartments were a little noisy but we were all so tired by the end of the day it didnt bother us.
We enjoyed it so much that we are going next year, ideal hotel for famillies.

| said: Small, clean, basic apartments. Run by friendly and helpful spanish staff who are incredibly patient, especially given what they put up with from some of the guests.
The worse aspect was the attitude of some of the younger guests. Groups of teenagers were constantly hanging around in the main reception area and were quite intimidating at times. On a couple of occasions they were playing football in the lobby and became very rude and abusive to staff who asked them to stop.
The food in the restaurant was very good but very British - no good at all if you want to try local cuisine. If eating in the restaurant do so after the crowds at 6.30 but before the entertainment staff start blasting the birdie song at you at 8.30.
The complex is near the beach and well placed for exploring Salou. But it is busy and noisy and not a great place to stay if you want to expereince Spain ... far too much bingo playing, mashed potatos and singing of British/Irish football songs for my liking.

| said: We stayed at the Cye Holiday Centre in Salou on a Self Catering basis. We were offered half board by our travel agents but decided that at an extra #700 approx that it wasn't worth it. We were very glad that we decided not to take this option because on arrival at the hotel we worked out that it would have been cheaper for us to pay for the food on a local basis.
The hotel was kept very clean and tidy, and the food was excellent, you could just turn up and pay for dinner if you felt like eating at the hotel. The barbeque was exceptionally good value at approx 25 euros for a family of 4, eat as much as you like including a selection of sweets, ice cream and salads.
The location of the hotel was good, not too close to the 'busy' side of town, and within easy reach of the beach, train and bus stops. We did hear the train but if you are careful to mention that you want to be on the front of the hotel when you book then this shouldn't be a problem. The track runs to the side of the hotel.
The staff were very helpful and knew enough English to be able to deal with various requests. You can hire a hairdryer on site for about 15 euros for 14 days. One thing which would have been useful to know when you arrive is that the electricity is only activated by putting your doorcard into the slot by the inside of the door. Also, that if you do not have the card in the slot the doorbells do not work (so you could avoid the problems some people have reported by taking your card out)
The walls are paper thin and you do here an exceptional amount of noise from your neighbours, to the sides and from above. This can't be helped, even if they are trying to be quiet you are fighting a losing battle due to the floors all being tiled.
The showers are great - powerful and always hot. If you run out of toilet roll, go down to reception they'll restock you!
The rep's entertainment was dire - bingo was excruciating and although we did the plate game and won money, we only did it the first night! The quiz was 15 questions long and didn't really test the old brain cells! I can't comment on the actual shows cos we didn't stay around to watch them.
The swimming pool is clean but very small. They say you are not allowed to take inflatables in but everyone does. Diving, swimming underwater and ball games are also supposedly banned but no one takes any notice. It also states that you are not supposed to 'save' loungers but go down to the pool at 9.30 and see how many towels you can count. I got up to 70. (Sad aren't I??!!)
I did feel our holiday was a little bit spoiled by the amount of small children running around swearing their heads off. There was also a near riot with kids trying to fight it out down in the reception area on our last night. They seemed to have little respect for anyone or anything. Some of them were deliberately divebombing my children in the swimming pool, and all in all I found their behaviour offensive and disturbing. The oldest was only about 10 and yet their behaviour was intimidating, with parents not really paying any attention.
Personally I would not visit this hotel again, but all other members of the party would!

The towels are changed at least three times a week and if you run out of toilet roll ask and you will receive more.
In the living room there are two sofa beds and in the hall there is another bed (pull out bed). The kitchen is fully equipped will all the cooking utensils you need, cooker with two rings, fridge with freezer compartment, kettle, toaster, microwave, frying pan and other saucepans(but no tea pot). On your arrival there is a very small bottle of washing-up liquid and a dish cloth (compliments of First Choice)which I thought was very good. There is also air conditioning which was great to have as the weather was very hot. The only thing you need to bring is a spare card (etc Store Card) to put in the slot to keep the electricity and air conditioning on at all times. If this card is removed from the slot in the hall the fridge and air conditioning will not work. This is not a problem though. The bathroom is lovely and clean, floor is tiled. There is also a bidet in the bathroom. The bedroom has two single beds. There is patio doors in the bedroom as well as in the living area. The balconies are big with a table, four chairs and a clothes horse.
There is also a washing machine near the reception area. This cost 5 euros. On site there is a small supermarket.
There is also a bar which serves snacks throughout the day until 10.00 pm. The food was excellent and reasonably priced. We went to the buffet dinner on a Sunday night which was a special night. This cost 34 euros for a family of 4. Normally the buffet dinner would cost 28 euros.

| said: I stayed in the Cye holiday centre in Salou, it was brilliant.
The bar and entertainment staff were very helpful. They gave us information about the area around us and what was happening in the hotel. The entertainment staff were brilliant to all of us teenagers they always talked to us and organized things for us to do.
The hotel its self was interesting. The rooms weren’t the best but every thing else was great.
The bar.... The pool, games room. The one problem I would have with the hotel would be the train track right next to it.

Its mental torture, the singer who was on was embarassing and should be shot, yes it was that bad ruined the holiday. Kid screaming, rinong door bells, slamming doors, puking by the pool and generally running amok while the parents get tanked up in the bar. if you want sleep before 2am dont go here. The resort brilliant for kids and everyone. The Sigh Apartments

| said: The apartments are really nice & spacious with a really nice bathroom. They are well equipped with microwave, kettle & toaster and, as previously mentioned ,large balconies.
But I was disappointed to find the noise at these apartments was dreadful. The bar closes around midnight and all entertainment finishes before then , but the noise from certain guests and their kids was terrible. By comparison the sound from the railway wasn't noticable at all. There were kids, mostly rowdy teenagers, running & shouting down the corridors, and pressing door buzzers sometimes till 2am. Needless to say the reps were useless at dealing with the problem. Its a real pity as the complex is in a nice quiet location not far from the beach and close to the old town of Salou. We went in August and perhaps it is more of a problem in high season than at other times, also we had a pool view on the first floor overlooking the bar area which did not help, I think a top floor apartment would be better. We requested a move to the other side, but all apartments were full. I hope if you go here you have a better experience than us.

Had a few nights of neighbours kids ringing the doorbell, but didn't find it a real problem.
Kids loved the railway line next door as we don't live anywhere near a railway it was a novelty to them and us! Have booked to go back for two weeks this year and also asked for top floor again and side nearest railway! Gluttons for punishment!

The location was ok but not central enough. The cleaners were nice and the bar staff were really friendly.
The entertainment was great and the late night quizzes were fun the bar closed at 12.
If anyone is looking for a great family holiday then this is the perfect plact to go.

| said: We stayed at Cye twice, in 200? when it first opened and again 2002, so it must have been OK. The apartments are fine, simple but clean, and the whole complex is quite OK, with a level walk to the beach which can be a bit long at the end of a hot day. We did not eat in the complex and agree with the 'canteen style' comments of others. The first year the entertainment was great - dancers, shows, etc, but the next time we went it seemed to consist mainly of Bingo & Karaoki, which was a shame (for us).
We did not find the railway line a problem, but were not that close to it. The biggest issue was noise from other guests, who came in very late (2 a.m.)and made a lot of noise, including children running about. The corridors seem to amplify the noise. For this reason we will not stay there again. It is a pity that the incosideration of others tends to spoil it for those who like to sleep at night!

| said: The Cye Holiday Center was very clean and loads to do. But at night all you could hear was the music playing from in the bar and kids would run along the corridors and ring all of the doorbells. The pools were clean, and the kids club was great to just leave the kids there and go and relax. The food was ok and the kids loved to go out onto the balcony and watch the trains go by and the staff were always happy to help.

| said: I'm sorry to say but I don't agree with any of the comments to say that cye holiday centre is a great place. We only stayed the night, we were lucky to get out of there thanks to Paul the holiday rep. We've got 2 kids aged 9 and 12 and they didn't like it either. Our room did not have the facilities we had asked for and worst of all the view we had was of a building site and railway track. We realised there was a railway track that ran round the back but we did not realise it was pratically in our face and we certainly was not told of the building site. I was near enough in tears but i had to keep it together for the kids sake. We went down to the bar in the evening and really tried to enjoy ourselves but i think we were so disopointed with the rotten view we had that it really spoilt it. We told Paul how we felt and he found us an apartment called Club Siesta Dorada which was in cap salou and it was fantastic(see my review on club siesta dorada).
Cye holiday center is more like an english social club. Sorry guys!

My favourites were Matt and Mark!!!! The entertainment staff. Matt's donald duck impressions were hilarious, When he was on stage with Fikir Eduard ~(the snake charmer and fire eater)~ and 'Dave', the assistant, he was so funny and Mark was great with the kidz. i learnt some really cool holiday songs like 'The court of king cat' or something like that, and the Mimic Man. I loved it there, i wanna go back

| said: I experienced these apartments last september 2001 for two weeks and shall be returning in August 2002 as the apartments and facilities were exceptionally clean. The staff were very pleasant and very helpful, the pool area was excellent, ampel sun loungers. The food was ok and very reasonable.Entertainment was good for kids but more attention is needed towards adult entertainment. You will experience some noise from the local railway line which runs behind the hotel. A few local sangria's and you will not hear these trains at all...
Your not even a ten minute walk from the golden beaches, shops and resteraunts on the Salou front. For night life entertainment and family fun you are only a 15 min walk to buzzing night life and shops.
The Portaventura theme park is well worth a visit.

| said: My first thoughts upon arrival were if it is a good as it looks then it is going to be a great place to stay, And it was.We went on holiday with the intention of eating out for ALL meals, but due to its location we decided to have Breakfast in the Hotel at a cost of 68 Euros for 4 of us for the week. (nearest decent cafe is 20 minutes walk)
The staff were available at all times and were very polite,The pool area was very clean and it has a good pool for the small children,The facilities on site were great for the kids, play area, arcade, pool tables, and entertainment every night for the kids, although the adults are not left out.
Overall this hotel is great but its location isn't quite right,Due to if you go into the town at night you will need to get a taxi back.(AS IT IS IN A QUIETE AREA OF THE TOWN)but that could of just been us, as we didn't feel safe walking back at night.
But out of our 3 visits to SALOU this IS the best hotel we have stayed in.
Below are some costs involved with staying there:
SAFETY DEPOSIT BOX (in your room) 16 Euros with a 6 Euro Deposit TOTAL 22 EUROS.
BREAKFAST 68 EUROS
TAXI INTO SALOU 4 EUROS
TAXI BACK AFTER MIDNIGHT 5.5 EUROS
TAXI TO PORT ADVENTURA 6 EUROS
A really good point for this hotel is that it is only a 10 minute walk to the main beach.
